ROUND 7: Paralysed with Fear
Helioptile vs Machop

Like a gorgeous curtain, sunlight dapples down onto the two Pokémon who seem to be in a death grip. The lapping waves and golden sand, epitomes of natural serenity, bely the violence erupting as a battle of two. Helioptile squirms and limply raises his free arm to push his way to freedom. However, Machop has other plans. He jabs his knee further into Helioptile's diaphragm, like jackhammer. Helioptile groans in pain. His breath grows scanter with every laboured exhale. When he tries to flail, Machop tightened his grip on Helioptile's shoulder, tautening the Submission as the iron embrace of brutality. Twitching, Helioptile struggles.

From the distance, Helioptile's Trainer cries out in desperation. He urges his Pokémon to never give up and continue the good fight. These words of encouragement echo in Helioptile's ear like a bell. As they galvanise the sun-lizard, Helioptile gathers electricity and allows the power to flow through him as a conduit. He must win. He must survive for his Trainer. And an arc of electricity slams into Machop, sizzling as a Thunderbolt. Surprised, Machop falls backwards, inadvertently loosening his grip on Helioptile's shoulder. Although the biped still rests his knee on Helioptile, this window of respite is enough for Helioptile to attempt one more escape.

Weak but determined, Helioptile thrusts out his arms, pushing Machop. To his surprise, the Fighter falls off when resistance is to be expected. Why the limp response? What is wrong? Joy and shock reverberate as Helioptile notices Machop fumble and tremble, as though his limbs and ligaments are locked. It was as if... a paralysis has wrested Machop's body. For the first time in this match-up, Machop actually looks sluggish. And this is what Helioptile, teetering on the brink of collapse, needs at this exact moment.

Helioptile flashes with a purple glow as he crafts a Screen of opalescent Light in front of him. The Screen shimmers against the golden sun as a shield and bastion. Machop stares at this wall, as he attempts to shake off his paralysis. Although he is not in the best physical condition, surely his Special prowess can be summoned. With that thought, Machop conjures a series of orbs, imbued with a Hidden Power, and fires them at the Screen. Although the Screen trembles against the barrage, it remains firm. Helioptile breathes a sigh of relief.

---

Machop has lost a significant amount of health, although that is nothing compared to Helioptile whose wallows in critical health makes him look like a breeze can blow him over. In fact, the only reason why he escaped that grapple was because Machop was paralysed. He is still paralysed, although his Special Attacks should be unaffected. His reflexes may be slower, though.

Helioptile has used a boatload of energy compared to Machop, though energy is the least of Helioptile's worries.

Both Pokémon are three feet apart from one another. Light Screen is between them.

ROUND 8: Like Salt to the Wound
Helioptile vs Machop

As Helioptile weakly charges another Thunderbolt, Machop tries to wrest control of his limbs again. He grits his teeth in frustration. Why can't he move like before? He cannot simply wait for destiny to throw him a bone, however. The time to act and live is now. Nodding to himself, Machop closes his eyes and allows his pores to open. Smelling Salts begin to emanate all over his body, crusting and sparking his nerves from conduction. Like greased gears, the pistons in Machop's body begins to move again. Machop feels the paralysis lift off his body as an unburdened weight.

His relief is not dampened even when Helioptile finally rents Machop with that Thunderbolt, frazzling his body. For Machop is a force that cannot be stopped. The power of determination brandishes as Machop throws a Salts-encrusted fist at Helioptile. Like a broken dream, the Light Screen shatters upon impact. When the fist slams Helioptile's face, the sun-lizard remembers his Trainer's face and thinks that he has done enough to make his master proud.

And that is why Helioptile collapses with a smile.

Helioptile has been KOed and cannot battle. Lanturn, please send out your next Pokémon.

---

Machop has weathered another significant hit and has thrown out a good deal of energy. However, this Round was much easier for him than the last one, allowing him to catch his breath. The paralysis is also gone.

ROUND 9: Earthquake
Eelektrik vs Machop

As a red burst of light replaces the fallen Helioptile for a shimmering eel, the referee speaks up. He reads off a datapad in his hand. Meanwhile, Lanturn and Rangeet gaze at each other with circumspect and cautious looks. Although Rangeet has tasted the first blood, this battle can still go either way. And both Trainers recognise this fact for its truth.

"Here is the data on Trainer Lanturn's chosen Pokémon," says the referee carefully.

Quote:
Eelektrik: (Electric) Eelektrik constantly levitates using a magnetic field. This levitation allows for fairly quick and nimble travel and requires no energy to maintain. They are also fairly good swimmers and are able to stay underwater as long as any Water type.
[Electric]: Electric types, in general, prefer areas where their electric attacks are most accurate. Thus, while hot temperatures don’t bother them, the fact that heat refracts electricity doesn’t appeal to them.
After the referee concludes his analysis, Machop glances at his opponent. Eelektrik seems poised and collected, as he flaps his blood-red tail in the beachside breeze. The eel stares down the biped with a corkscrew grit that almost glisters like a gemstone. The expression of tranquil arrogance ignites an anger in Machop, who fuels his frustrations into the Fire energy accruing in his palms. Flames burn. At the same time, Eelektrik seizes the initiative and unleashes a scorching Thunderbolt. As Machop releases the Fire energy as a Flamethrower, the ravishing heat refracts much of the Thunderbolt, which mostly misses the mark, with the exception of a portion that nicks Machop. Eelektrik shrieks when the flames slam into him.

Infuriated by this parry, Eelektrik coils and charges his body with tessellating electricity. Fury burgeons inside him like a weed, and he wants to dish out the pain. Affirmed, Eelektrik Discharges an arc at Machop, who attempts to dodge but recoils from the assault. Machop sense his breath hitch. Although his muscles seem fine, avoiding jarring paralysis, those two electrical manoeuvres have not been soft on Machop. He needs to level the playing field. He wants to level it. Despite his disadvantage, Machop will not concede this match. He will fight or die fighting.

That thought in mind, Machop lobs an orb of Rock energy at Eelektrik. The carousel of Rock energy Smacks Elektrik Downwards, dropping the eel from the air. Panicked, Eelektrik tries to regain his altitude. And that vain hope prevails, as Eelektross comes to rest a feet above the sand, fallen in altitude but at least floating above with the bare necessities. That does not discourage Machop, though. The biped barrels at the eel and grabbing his tail, sends a pulse of Earthquake directly into Eelektrik's body. Who said a direct approach can't work? Especially if the eel is close to the ground?

The eel screams, horrified at this unearthly attack.

---

Machop has used a sizeable amount of energy, sending him closer towards the critical mark. Meanwhile, Eelektrik is very fresh and despite his great energy usage, is still rearing to go.

Machop has taken a far lesser hit in his health, considering the refracted nature of that Thunderbolt. He is teetering on the verge of critical health, though.

Eelektrik has taken a motherlode of damage. He has dropped out his first third.

Rangeet has used one of his two 3-movers for this match.

ROUND 10: You Are Hereby Discharged From Service
Eelektrik vs Machop

Eelektrik channels his fury with an eruption of pure rage and frustration. Gathering electricity, he Discharges yet another arc onto Machop, loosening the biped's grip on his tail. Machop winces, trying to push himself past the pain. Reassurance pushes him onwards. With a hiss, Machop summons a series of orbs charged with a Hidden Power and launches them at Eelektrik.

The attack sends the eel slightly backwards, but Eelektrik is dauntless. With a breath of galvanisation, the mighty eel unleashes a Charge Beam which slams Machop from consciousness into the dream world. Eelektrik smirks as he feels an energisation which may fuel his future special attacks.

Machop has been KOed and cannot battle. Rangeet, please send out your next Pokémon.

---

Eelektrik has used a great amount of energy and has taken a solid hit. Still fresh and energetic, though.

ROUND 11: Turning Tides
Eelektrik vs Porygon

With a crescendo of red light, a floating robot from the Porygon species replaces the unconscious Machop. Porygon blinks and levitates upwards, as the referee opens his datapad and speaks aloud.

"Here is the data on Rangeet's chosen Pokemon," he says in an authoritative voice.

Quote:
Porygon (Normal): Porygon is created entirely of programming code. While the slowest of the two, Porygon is more agile. Porygon and is evolutions are capable of hovering, which gives them greater maneuverability but restricts how high they can fly (about 10 feet above the surface or so, though they typically float about a foot off the ground unless ordered otherwise).
[Normal]: Normal types can use the greatest variety of attacks in the league: they pay for this, however, by having less type energy. In the ASB, Normal types take 100% damage from Ghost type moves.
After the referee concludes his description, Eelektrik immediately attempts to close distance to unleash some violence. Blood and sweat is the theme of this battle, Eelektrik believes. And Porygon shall pay for its master's sins with the iron price. Eelektrik does not appear fresh or vivacious, though. One can tell that the two consecutive pairs of powerful attacks has worn into an element of fatigue for the eel. Indeed, closing the several feet between the two would not be an instantaneous feat. Eelektrik can still endeavour, though. When Eelektrik lunges forward for a Crunch, however, Porygon comes well-prepared for this skirmish. Beeping, the robot accrues energy.

Eelektrik's fangs charge with Dark energy. Porygon will not sink like a capsized ship, though. As the eel prepares to sink his jaw into Porygon, the robot launches its prepared energy as a triangular spiral. Swirls of fire, ice, and thunder lurch as a torpedo, blasting into Eelektrik who attempts to duck but cannot muster an appropriately hasty response against the far-fresher Porygon. The Tri-Attack sends Eelektrik flying. In the aftermath, sparks of energy shimmer like a mirage. Eelektrik's Dark energy has long dissipated; the eel has more urgent things to worry about. Frustration builds up as a staccato of scowls. Eelektrik recognises that this parry is not proceeding to plan. With that thought in mind, Eelektrik begins to charge tendrils of electrical power.

Eelektrik does not have much time to contemplate his dearth of successes, though, as Porygon decides to follow its assault with another onslaught. Glowing a translucent blue, the robot trembles and unloads a series of iridescent orbs at Eelektrik, who verges on completing a Zap Cannon. The orbs of Hidden Power swerve outwards and barrel into Eelektrik, slamming the eel and releasing the Zap Cannon off-centre. The sphere of electricity bounds towards Porygon at a poor angle, which the robot utilises to drift out of the way. After all, Zap Cannon is not the fastest of attacks. The Cannon only nicks Porygon, who winces but remains otherwise well.

The ocean waves lap, as Eelektrik frowns again. The tides of battle have turned.

---

Porygon has taken a partial hit but is otherwise well, in contrast to Eelektrik has his truck of damage. Indeed, Eelektrik is now approaching the final third of his health, although he is not quite there yet. Porygon is paralysed due to that partial hit.

Porygon has used a fair amount of energy but is still rather fresh. Eelektrik has wasted a good solid hit of Dark energy and shed a tonne on that Zap Cannon. His energy usage was greater than Porygon's, and he will most definitely need a breather next round, without a doubt.

Both Pokémon are tten feet apart from one another.

ROUND 12: Giga Impact
Eelektrik vs Porygon

The sunbathers in the distance raise their eyebrows at this interesting sight. A robotic duck and floating eel, brawling to their bitter ends. No wiser words are said, as Eelektrik summons a series of green tendrils and blasts them outwards. Like jungle vines, the tendrils knot around Porygon, attempting to siphon energy from the robot. Porygon winces when slivers of its energy slide away of it, allowing fatigue to congeal like a blood jelly. The rate of the Giga Drain alarms the robot. Porygon can not do much in response, though. Indeed, the Pokemon feels his limbs jammed in a locked paralysis which jar his ligaments like wrenches in gears. Frustrated, Porygon does nothing but allow Eelektrik to bathe in its own stolen energy.

And the eel does just that. Feeling the warmth of gorgeous energy reignite his determination, Eelektrik coils with smug happiness. His nerves feel far more alive and reinvigorated than before. Happiness pools in Eelektrik's chest, inflating him as though he is floating on the clouds. Not all is bliss, though. During the Giga Drain's deleterious touch, Porygon has been biding its time and waiting for the opportunity to strike once more. And that opportunity has come. Although the Giga Drain has rendered it fatigued, the attack's clout has smacked Porygon vigorously enough to knock out the paralysis from its body. Indeed, Porygon begins charging towards Eelektrik, its Skull crowned with seething energy, as it Bashes straight into the rejoicing Eelektrik.

Careening backwards, Eelektrik grits his teeth in order to steady his levitation. His entire body burns with agony, though, from the force of a freight train that has slammed into him. And his ordeal is not even over. Swiftly, Porygon looks upwards and releases a loud, echoing note that sprawls outwards as a ripple. The Round soundwaves swivel and blast point-blank into Eelektrik, who screams once again in pain.

---

Porygon has lost a terrifying amount of energy, some of which gone straight to Eelektrik, who now looks more refreshed. Both Pokemon are now in the first third of their energy. Porygon will need a breather after that mess, though. Eelektrik has only a smidgeon of Grass reserves remaining.

Eelektrik has taken a large blow which has dropped him further down the final third of his health. Porygon still remains relatively fresh in terms of health.

The two Pokemon are approximately two feet apart from one another.

ROUND 13: Vengeance is Complete
Eelektrik vs Porygon

As Porygon hovers over the din and chaos with a wilful arrogance, Eelektrik glowers with the intensity of a thousand suns. This status quo is not only ridiculous but also dire: Eelektrik knows that his minutes are numbered. He refuses to give up, though. Despite the tremendous odds, hope is a fleeting sunbeam in the veil of darkness. Fleeting, but still present. Holding onto this thought, Eelektrik perseveres through the piercing Round that rackets from Porygon. Stubborn, Eelektrik twitches and clings to the bare vestiges of his remaining consciousness. And somehow, he does it.

Through sheer luck and zeal, Eelektrik holds onto his strength. Porygon watches his opponent, surprised by this turn of event. This surprise burgeons into shock when Eelektrik uncurls an arc of electricity which strikes Porygon's circuits. Tumbling, the robot tries to remain collected in the face of the Thunderbolt. However, revenge is a relentless mistress: Eelektrik does not wait another minute to lunge at Porygon. The eel curls around Porygon like a leash. When he bears his Fangs and strikes Porygon with Super vindication, the onlookers gasp in surprise. Porygon flails and swerves, trying to unhinge the eel, but Eelektrik remains solid.

Vengeance reaches its denouement when Eelektrik gathers a sphere of unfurling electricity and aims it at Porygon. Cognisant of the imminent danger, Porygon recoils and finally manages to throw off Eelektrik, but the move is a little too late. The Zap Cannon glows like an ember and bounds into Porygon, closing the short distance between them. Porygon can do nothing but beep out a distress call. On cue, its circuits jam, signalling the advent of paralysis.

Vengeance is complete.

---

The round has afflicted a horrifying amount of damage on Porygon, who falls out of his first third of health. Eelektrik teeters on critical health, holding on through a combination of luck and zeal. Porygon is paralysed again.

Porygon has expended a good hit of energy and feels less fatigued after a less energy-intensive round. In stark contrast, Eelektrik has cut through a large chunk of his energy and will need to take a breath. Lanturn has used one of his two 3-movers for this match.

The two Pokemon are approximately a feet apart from one another.

ROUND 14: Have a Thrashing Good Time!
Eelektrik vs Porygon

Attracted by the commotion occurring around the volleyball court, schoolchildren in floaties jostle around the tattering grandstand. Their disconcerted parents and protective Corsola join them, if only for the sake of safeguarding the children's wellbeing. Armed with gazes as flinty as steel, these Corsola will intercede in the battle at any sign of harm towards the children. Guardianship is stalwart. As these children and their Pokemon watch, Eelektrik attempts to Thrash and make a final statement.

However, Porygon has had enough this nonsense. The robot may be paralysed, but between the diminishing effects of consecutive paralyses and its energy advantage on the eel, Porygon is able to react in time. Charging a series of shimmering orbs, Porygon epitomises the adage that special attacks can overcome the user's paralysis. Indeed, these orbs of Hidden Power slam into Eelektrik, right as the eel Thrashes and inflicts a fraction of a hit on the robot.

With a cry, Eelektrik faints. It was a battle well-fought.

Eelektrik has been KOed and cannot battle. Lanturn, please send out your next Pokémon.

---

Porygon has taken a moderate hit, but that has helped ease the paralysis. Paralysis should only last one more round, and even then, one doubts it will be the end of all.

Porygon's energy use was fine. The Corsola are watching and are quite aggressively protective, though.

Great job Striker. Frosty, you're up next! Released at the surface of the sea.

Blast him with an Ice Beam. If he stays ranged, Frost Breath. Otherwise, non-contact Waterfall.
