Trapinch

OoC: Updater already found in case anyone else was going to be awesome and think of updating me. Also just decided to go with my standard font colour, but feel free to change it.

{cracks knuckles}

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Great. Nice job, Susan." he muttered under his breath. The Murkrow seemed insistent to defy him until he did something drastic. Maybe like saving her life or something. There he was, all sorted for a trip to the beach. His Pokémon could relax, he could maybe fish up some new team members, all in all a great day.

"But noooooooo." the fisherman spat, sarcastically. He hadn't got the fine details of Flying by Pokémon down, it was physics-defying magic or something. Either way, instead of Flying him to the sea, the Dark-type had dropped him here. As soon as she did, she made a break for cover, but he was wise to this by now, recalling her before she could conceal herself amid the thick, lush, tropical forest that surrounded him on almost all sides.

He'd only been here a few minutes, but already the heat and humidity was starting to choke him. Dropping his bag to the ground, he quickly shrugged off his trademark waterproof jacket - while it was lightweight, that wouldn't stop him overheating as it collected his sweat. This action disturbed his passenger, Rincewind clambering onto his shoulder, eyeing the surroundings nervously. This was a world away from the desert environment that the average Trapinch called home. The ant-lion squeaked, trying to retreat back into Dave's shirt, but the trainer pulled him back out. They'd both start to cook if he did.

Now that he wasn't about to pass out, the brunet reassessed his surroundings. He could turn back, but the path back to civilisation was long. "No point in passing up a free adventure that presents itself." he mused, turning back to the vegetation. The undergrowth was thick, but not so much as to stop him moving between the trees. He cursed his luck that none of his Pokémon knew, or could even learn, Cut, and that his largest knife was more suited for cutting fishing line. He could also use a way to see ahead of himself, so that he didn't struggle through the foliage into a dead end and have to haul himself back.

Fumbling at his belt, he detached another PokéBall, enlarged it instantly, and tossed it into the air. "Teppic, I need air support!" he called as the orb split, the light from within bursting out to coalesce into the form of another winged Pokémon. The Yanma hung into the air, looking down on his trainer as Dave caught and minimized the device, the roar of his wings almost sounding like an Apache gunship in the previously-silent area. Apathy filled the dragonfly's eyes - he had yet to respect his master either, but unlike Susan he at least did what he was told. To a degree.

Momentarily distracted by the noise, along with the cooling effects of his Pokémon's wings, Dave relayed orders. "We're going into this jungle, Teppic. I need you to scout ahead and relay information if you find an obstacle - a dead end, a fallen tree, anything like that. Can you help us out?" The Bug-type nodded with a soft 'Yunnng', and watched as the human picked an entrance between the trees. Satisfied, Dave turned, nodding to the insect, "Right, go on ahead. Feel free to stretch your wings in the meantime, alright?" Teppic nodded, heading toward them. Swiftly, he jinked toward the other Pokémon, before pulling back, Rincewind's jaws clamping shut where he'd been milliseconds before. The Yanma chirped laughingly before speeding off through the trees, soon out of sight.

"You two really need to learn to get along." Dave sighed. "What is it, wing envy? You'll catch up to him soon enough." Rincewind squeaked indignantly at the accusation, even though it was pretty much true. "Alright, alright. Let's get after him then." And with that, Dave pressed through the trees, into the jungle to see what lay within...

"We need to get out of here." Panicking. "And we need to get out of here now!" You're definitely panicking. "Chingling, please listen to me," you say, turning to the petrified bell Pokémon. "We found a blue orb. Do we need to use it for something? Can you show us where it goes? If we don't get any help, we might get lost, and we'll end up even worse than that Taillow. So please. Do you understand?" Torchic is chirping along with you, repeating everything you say, desperate to help his trainer out of this bind. But the Chingling just looks up at you both with a confused frown. It sniffles. Ching. Again. Chiiing. It quietly utters a few words, barely audible, to your attentive partner. Suddenly, Torchic grows excited and scampers off towards the twig that just fell down. He picks it up, then places it down again and calls out to Chingling. Picks it up again in his mouth, tilts his head sideways, dragging the stick through the sandy dirt, then puts it down again. Chingling seems to understand, and you watch, dumbfounded, as suddenly the twig floats in midair. Chingling's body is enveloped in a gentle glow of blue energy, pretty and calming to look at. He appears to be using some sort of telekinesis on the stick, and he starts to draw out a picture in the dirt:

latest update here
Alice watched as Torchic dashed away, retrieving Tailow's twig for the psychic Pokemon to use as communication. Hope is bubbling away, desperate hope, and her blue eyes twinkle with awe behind the lenses of her glasses, watching as a cute drawing suited to a baby is suddenly etched in the dirt.

"That's you," She began, pointing to the Chingling, before moving onto Chimecho, "A friend, or family. And then a box. Does the orb need to go into the box?" The girl asked of it, and Torchic again worked as a translator. Her voice had become less intense and instead soothing, reassured by the progress being made, "Do you know where the box is? And if you do, would you be able to use your telekinesis to help us carry it? It's very heavy and we're both very small, but don't have the same powers you do."

Hello EV, I'll be your updator tonight (finally). If you have any problems with my updates, please let me know via PM. Otherwise, fasten your seatbelts, and get set

Kindle Cove--please reply in gold.

Jakken Nevar

Arriving at a remarkably empty stretch of coast, you decide to go for a little stroll. The wind brushing across your face, the waves crashing on the beach, the salty sea air; all in all, it seems like a lovely day to be out and about, and Shinkaron seems to agree. Taking full advantage of the divine weather, the energetic little Eevee has already busied himself in a heated game of cat and mouse with the tide, running back and forth and back and forth and back … just watching him is a little tiring! Talluz, however, is less enthused, to say the least. Wary of the sea, but at the same time not wanting to stray from your side, your Zubat flutters cautiously nearby, trying to follow you as closely as possible whilst maintaining an acceptable distance from the water.

Feeling playful, you decide to join Shinkaron amongst the waves. Though you try to convince Talluz to join in too, his mind is made up, and so you leave the Bat Pokemon to guard your belongings on the sand whilst he watches the two of you from the sidelines. You're both having a great time together, splashing around in the sea when all of a sudden something else grabs your attention. Specifically, the strong waft of smoke that appears to be coming from the woods--fire?!

However, before you can consider this further, your thoughts are interrupted by a sudden bark from Shinkaron, which is then followed by two more. However, unlike yourself, the scent of smoke is not what bothers him. Instead, the flustered little Eevee sounds to be barking at something much further down the coast. Ignoring you completely, he then bolts off on his own! Immediately, you grab your stuff and race after him with Talluz, following the rogue Normal-type’s voice as he darts down the beach, yelping all the way. Finally, after almost half a minute, you hear him come to a stop, allowing you to catch up with him seconds later.

Shinkaron still does not appear to be paying you much attention, and is no longer barking, having now switched to a low, threatening growl, again aimed away from you. Picking up on the acoustic reflections from the immediate area, it seems your companion has lead the three of you to the entrance of seaside cave. The cave, sinking into a rock formation embeded into the steeply inclined plane of the forest floor, doesn't seem to be anything special. However, whilst you don’t sense anything particularly menacing about it, Shinkaron apparently does, and he isn’t having any of it. The idea of exploring the mysterious cave crosses your mind, but at the same time the scent of smoke still lingers in your nose. The choice is yours:

What will you do?

Jakken headed into the seaside cave, wondering what was bothering Shinkaron about this place, they had been playing by the water's edge when Jakken had smelled smoke coming from the forest, but Shinkaron had started barking in the opposite direction, and then he ran off in the direction that he was barking in, with Jakken trying to stay close behind. When Jakken caught up to the young Eevee, he got Talluz tto use his supersonic to see where they were. The sound of the Zubat’s echolocation hit Jakken’s ears, revealing the cave that Shinkaron was barking at. Jakken couldn't tell what was bothering Shinkaron about it, but he decided to head in to check it out. He noticed that Talluz didn't like it either, but with Talluz you never really could know whether there was a reason or he was just being his usual scared self. He wandered into the cave and listened to his surroundings to see what was going on, but hearing nothing but water dripping and Talluz' whimpering and Shinkaron’s soft growl, to Talluz' dismay, he headed further in, to see what he'd find in the cave, with Shinkaron, who was both exited and scared, and Talluz, who was purely scared, following close behind.

"Whoooaaa, Nezhm'nar!"

You run out into the open street. Before your brain can even process what's before you, you can feel that you've collided with something big, furry, and hard. And just like that, you're out cold. You don't feel yourself crumpling to the ground. Nor do you then feel your body rolling a few yards forward from great, furry paws as they dig into the dusty ground to bring their owner to a halt. Nor do you hear Kief's cries as the cookie raccoon-dog picks himself up and scurries over to his master's side, nudging her neck and crying out for help. You have quite literally the half a second, if that, to process that you've hit or been hit by something. And the next thing you know ...

~*=*~*=*~*=*~*=*~*=*~*=*~*=*~*=*~*=*~

The first thing that comes to you is your proprioception and sense of touch. You find yourself lying down, your arms by your sides, your legs straight. And what you're lying on is ... soft? Yes, definitely soft. With some generous give. You realize now you can feel your body caving into this soft ground beneath you. You can feel something else pressed against your bosom, laying in the crevice between your chest and your left arm. Your eyes are still closed.

OoC: Trying something new. Not sure if it can really work in FB or not, but someone who likes text-based adventures should be able to see where this is going ...
Jessica could hear the wails of the old woman pursuing her down the street, but she didn’t care. She just wanted to get away. It seemed like the words were haunting, hunting her. A witch hunt. It hurt. She couldn’t take it anymore. She jumped straight into the blaze, the haze of heat, seeking escape…

WHAM!

Something impacted her, sending her reeling across the road. Her body only briefly registered the softness of fur masking solidity underneath, before blackness. The last thing she sensed was Kief standing by her side, crumbling against his comatose trainer as he cried desperately for help. She couldn’t hear him though, could hardly even feel. Which was fine. She didn’t wish to feel anything anymore. Still, she knew he was there, that he would be worried if she disappeared again. …They all would. Ah, how could she have been so stupid? …But, she was also tired. All she desired now was sleep.

“Sorry,” she mouthed, before welcoming oblivion. Perhaps, when she woke up, she’d be back home in her bed and this would all be a bad dream…

-

Awareness of “self” gradually restored, radiating outward. She was lying stiff, arms and legs perfectly parallel. Whatever she was resting on, it sighed deeply to receive her weight. As the cloud in her mind cleared, she remembered the events of… How long ago? What time is it now? Tracing back over the course of her memories, the final one she recalled was Kief… Kief! Where was he? Was he okay? She fumbled blindly, trying to lift her leaden limbs to search, to reach out to him, before it was too late. She had to call him back, quick, to protect him-

She realized when she attempted to raise her left shoulder that something was insinuated in the space next to her heart. Could it be Kief? In her panic, she wasn’t even able to discern the truth by touch. At this moment, she wouldn’t trust he was there even if someone insisted – not without seeing his smiling face, barking and licking hers as always. It had to be him, or she might just go crazy (as if she wasn’t already), thinking she failed a friend yet again. She cradled the object close, daring to pry open her eyes…

When you take your first step into the tube, you suddenly realize that slipping on these stairs might result in several broken limbs at best; yet despite the smooth texture of its material, the stair beneath your shoe offers surprising traction. Matthew hops down a stair at a time, unworried about the danger a single misstep can offer.

As you descend the staircase with great care, now with Alexander along for the journey, the entrance slowly spirals out of sight behind you, soon vanishing into the gloom above. The only source of light is the one beneath your feet, which glitters through the translucent stairs. The shimmering effect is disorienting, and you take care with every step. The stairs may not be slippery, but they’re certainly steep.

The further you go, the more the insistent dripping sound fades into the distance above you, until it simply sinks into silence. Only your shoes and Matthew’s feet, echoing lightly through the tube, give the place any semblance of life. Despite the fact that this staircase is far less spacious than the cavern before, it feels just as large and just as empty. Minutes pass, enough so that even the dizziness of continually spiraling gradually disappears. Over time the pulsing light below eventually grows closer, larger, and brighter, until suddenly the rays it casts seem to fill your whole vision.

Because of this, you only realize you’ve reached the bottom of the stairs when you take another step and end up stumbling forward in search of a stair that isn’t there. Panic streaks through your mind for a split second before you slam against the ground, which fortunately isn’t hard enough to leave your with more than a few bruises. Matthew, who doesn’t seem to have shared your misfortune, seems slightly amused as you groan and begin to push yourself up.

The moment doesn’t last, however; Matthew’s eyes quickly widen as his grin fades, just before a heavy boot presses against the small of your back.

“Don’t you move,” its owner says, breathing raggedly. “Don't you dare move. That goes for your Pokemon, too. Any of you so much as twitch the wrong way and you’ll get a few bullets for your trouble. No funny business here. Just tell me who you are and how the hell you found this place, and I might just let you up. But there is a wrong answer, so watch what you say!”

You carefully lift your gaze to see that the stranger is a rather thin blond man in his prime, wearing a dirty white lab coat and a guarded expression. Past his glare you can catch a glimpse of the source of light: a greenish-purple stone that looks strangely familiar. Your curiosity is piqued, but considering the pistol aimed directly at your head, it’s obvious that you’re not the one asking questions here. Not yet, anyway …

How will you respond?

Not a problem! Don’t worry about it.
And to absolutely nobodies surprise, James found himself trapped under a man's boot and a hard place. The previously mentioned man had a gun pointed to his head, and all three of the members of James' party were silent. Alexander gave a mental, "Good work, guys. I do not predict this going well.", to the group, while Matthew watched carefully on the exterior while shivering with fear on the inside. James eventually cleared his through and struggled to speak through his silent fear.

"My name is James. The Budew's name is Matthew, while the Natu's name is Alexander. Rumors lead us to a gem in a cave; we didn't know we were coming here in the first place." James said, all the while thinking about the mechanics of a gun. He had taken a brief look at blueprints when he was younger within his dad's office, one of the many destructive things he created. From what he remembered, a pin hit the inside of the casing and fired the bullet off. Jamming was common in many, but there wasn't a really good way to block the chamber. Unless, for once, Alexander wanted to be useful. Alexander was no doubt listening in on his thoughts. "Hey buddy, try to be helpful for once and slip the pin out the back if you can with PSYCHIC." Alexander gave a private mental grunt and focused on the task he was given. Who knows, maybe something will work out favorably.

What do you do?
Once the choking humidity was no longer an issue, Dave found the rainforest to be rather pleasant. The thick jungle canopy alleviated the harsh sunlight that was so common to the tropics, and a refreshing breeze kept the air from stagnating around him. Onward he trudged through the undergrowth, Rincewind atop his head, the Trapinch snapping at any insects that dare pass within reach of his ever-hungry jaws.

After a few moments of only the calls of tropical Flying and Bug Pokémon, the trainer heard a distinctive vibration through the air. As the noise increased in pitch, he became more and more certain of what it was. Sure enough, a blur of green and red between some trees ahead revealed Teppic's identity. The fisherman waited for a report on what the Yanma had found...

...but no such news reached him. The Bug-type streaked straight past him, the downdraft from his wings almost tearing both Rincewind and his hat from his scalp as the darner blew through. "What the--" Dave yelled, almost losing his footing in surprise, wheeling around to see the Clear Wing Pokémon vanishing just as rapidly in the opposite direction. "Teppic. Teppic! Come back! That's the wrong way! TEPPIC!" he called, louder and louder, until the dragonfly had completely vanished. "Great, another deserter." sighed the trainer.

Just as he was deciding whether to go looking for his Pokémon or not, he felt something hit him. A snapping sound indicated that something had set Rincewind off, and Dave reached upward, gently lifting the larva off his head and lowering him to face level, turning him around. A large leaf was poking halfway out of the Ground-type's mouth, before Rincewind spat the rest of it out, disgusted at the thought of ingesting vegetable matter. The fisherman stared at the leaf, half-bitten through, before noticing another one whirling to the ground from above. And another. And another. Looking up, Dave noticed a few more before a cream-coloured lump detached itself from the upper reaches of the nearest tree, slamming to the ground nearby with a {thump!}.

As the form unfolded, he recognised it, a chill working its way up his spine. Stepping back, he tried looking away - he knew that the Mankey species and their evolved brethren hated eye-contact - but almost instantly upon landing the Fighting-type was onto him, leaping toward his face. Swiftly, the fisherman ducked, one hand securing Rincewind to his chest whilst the other arm dropped, supporting his body weight as he rolled out of the way.

Turning as he rose to one knee, Dave pushed his Trapinch up to his shoulder, holding his hands aloft in a display of non-hostility. "Hold up, little guy!" he called to the primate, making sure to continue avoiding eye-contact. "Sorry if my Yanma disturbed you, I know he can be noisy. I mean you know harm, and if I can make it up to you just say so." The trainer hoped that this was just a simple disgruntlement, but made ready to roll again just in case, noting the location of his Torkoal's PokéBall should the Mankey prove to be more aggressive...

The Hemlock Caverns
Tyoyo3131:
Alexander concentrates carefully, and the faint glow of his eyes as he executes his psychic powers goes unnoticed by the man. The pin slides neatly out the back of the gun, slipping away beneath the man's arm and landing gently on the cavern floor. It makes a slight tink upon impact, but it's covered up by the man's sigh of relief as he lowers his gun and steps back.

"I can't believe it ... you're real!" Laughing for a moment, he extends a hand and helps you to your feet. "Sorry about the hostility. I've been here for ... I don't know how long, to be honest. Weeks, I'd guess. I figured hallucinations never get to the point, and you're obviously not, even if you did fall out of a solid wall. You have any food? No? Very well."

Glancing behind, you notice that the stairs stand as glitteringly majestic as ever. How can this man not notice them?

He coughs and returns his gun to its holster; you notice that his belt is far too colorful to match any modern fashion. "I'm called Sumac. Hopefully it'll be given an improvement as Professor Sumac, once I get out of this godforsaken cave." Sensing your question before it's formed, he gestures toward the strange stone. "Evolutionary theory. I believe it's possible to harness the untapped well of energy in powerful natural phenomena such as this and channel it into the growth and development of certain Pokémon, as with naturally occurring Fire Stones, Water Stones and so on. My thesis was rejected for being facetious, so I went with the next best thing and ran this experiment to validate its importance. This is a working model of what I've named the Venom Stone, and with some luck I can-"

A distant roar cuts him off, its distant echoes rumbling the cave walls briefly before fading into unsettling memory. Sumac turns as white as a ghost. "It's getting closer," he whispers. "I don't have much time. Will you help me get this discovery back to the surface? Whether I'm dead or alive, I want the scientific community to see the potential that they're so close to throwing away."

How will you respond?

Green Zubat

Taking some time off for a little R&R after a somewhat vigorous adventure in the snowy alps you and your companions have arrived on a tropical island that the locals at the mainland are too scared to travel to; telling various tales of the eerie things that tend to happen here.

Even the captains of the mightiest of ships have refused to guide you on your voyage. Leaving you forced to go by yourself. But it isn’t all too bad for more than mediocre swimmer like you.

Lying on the sandy beach shaded by the jungle undergrowth you fall sound asleep listening to the soothing sounds of the oceans waves and lose track of time when in the distance you hear what sounds like a gun shot.

Startled by the noise you wake to your body guard Gage jumping up and down frantically mumbling something to you as if trying to tell you something, it seems he had been trying to wake you up for several minutes now but you just wouldn’t.

You look above to the bright sunny sky where you find 10’s of birds fly away from the direction of where you were sure you heard the gun shot.
You begin to wonder what was going on here when Gage turns to the direction of the wildlife, he hears it first but little by little you start to hear a low rustling sound.

The sound is low but you make it out to be the sounds of footsteps rapidly moving toward you.

As the seconds pass the louder they get and you realize that whatever was making the noise was coming straight toward you!

Quickly you wake the rest of your team and ready yourself for whatever was about to jump out of the bushes in front of you.

What do you do?

“Five more minutes, Mum,” said GZ, who continued to snooze facedown on the sand, much to Gage’s frustration. As the irritated Rock-type was considering Tackling his lax trainer, however, a loud bang filled the air around them. Instantly, GZ sprang up.

“What was that?!” he said, drawing himself up to kneel. He frantically scanned the row of vegetation beyond the beach where he could’ve sworn he heard the gunshot. At least, it sounded like a gunshot.

“Roggen, Roggenro,” Gage mumbled.

“What was that, boy--do you hear something?” whispered GZ, not quite catching him. His agitated friend simply turned towards the woods. Pushing his BlackGlasses up to rest above his forehead, GZ did the same, and listened carefully. For a few moments, there only seemed to be silence, but then a faint, rhythmic crackling sound could be heard, like branches breaking underfoot … someone, or something, was moving beyond the trees, and it was getting closer!

Not wasting a second more, GZ snatched his nearby bag, from which he retrieved some flip-flops and an olive jacket, and stood up. The young man hastily dressed himself, and had just swung his bag onto his back when he noticed his Turtwig was still dreaming away to his left, completely unfazed.

“BRAMBLE!” He barked in a low voice, kicking some sand at him for good measure.

“Turrrr … twig?” the tired Tiny Leaf Pokémon moaned whilst looking up quizzically at his owner, barely even managing to care. Despite his initial disinterest, though, Bramble soon perked up. After shaking himself off, he trotted straight to his trainer’s side, beaming at him.

"OK guys, stay sharp," GZ said quietly before turning his attention back to the woods. He then walked a little closer to the treeline. “Hello, is someone there? Do you … need help?”

“They’d better …” He thought, praying it wouldn’t be the other way around.

I already have an Updater thanks!

Light shivered as he walked up to the edge of the forest, the trees had an ominous felling, almost as if they were watching him and the dark skies that the moon was somehow peeking out of didn’t help. Looking as Light looked over to Teppa, the small acorn shivered as well, and looked up at Light with reproachful eyes “w-hy we he-re? I no li-ke. ‘cuse no s-un”
“Don’t worry Teppa, we’re looking for adventure it’ll be fine.” sigh, I don’t like this place one bit but I can’t go back now
“O-k…”
“Teppa”
“W-hat”
“You know that you’ll be dark type when you evolve, right?”
“B-ut I will s-tay in s-un. So no sc-ared.”
“Sure Teppa, ok we need to get going we’ve delayed long enugh”
Scooping up the small Seedot and placing him under Light’s hood, Light began his short trek to the edge of the forest. As he got closer Teppa hid deeper Light’s hood and began to shake with fear. The duo paused at the edge and debated whether to go further, whilst the moon watched on, casting foreboding shadows that dappled the ground. Taking a deep breath Light stepped into the forest.

*********** Forest – let’s use Darkolivegreen
Lightpanda:

OoC: My first time writing a story for someone else so it may start out a bit slow (I’m still learning). Since you’ve been taken under someone else’s wing in the AR, there’ll be little point in me giving you tips as most of these have been or will be covered there. I’ll mainly focus on any mistakes you may make that are specific for this story. One thing to note however is that I haven't been given a reason why you're able to talk to a Pokémon, it would be nice if that were explained at some point. So all in all, follow the rules and advice given to you in the AR and everything should be fine and above all, have fun. ^^

And so you’ve come to a dark forest at night. Perhaps by chance? Or perhaps because of the stories you’ve heard so far about this place. A forest with large trees that are able to block out most sunlight giving the area the unnatural feeling that you’ll be walking at night no matter what the time. Not so unlike a certain forest in Johto. A frightful story of course, meant mainly to attract tourists to the many villages that have settled around the near-limitless bounds of the forest, though none appear to be within sight of where you’ve started it would seem.

With no other light present other than the glow of the moon, which in itself is nothing more than a reflection of the coming dawn, you try and convince your partner Pokémon to come along with you. After all, if he were to be a Dark-type at one point he’s going to have to get used to the darkness. Who knows, it might make him even stronger in turn. You have your doubts as well about this place but you’ve decided that turning back at this point is not an option and you reluctantly place your first few steps into the forest. Easy enough and you gradually start picking up your pace as you soon realize that a walk at night is nothing more than a walk during day, albeit with less light.

You stumble a few times, nothing serious, thanks to the little light that is available at the moment and walk for, well, actually you don’t walk that far at all before you can already hear a sound ahead of you. You can feel your Seedot cowering underneath your hat as any sound produced at night is ominous at best, but it is at this moment that you realize that it is the only sound you've heard in the entire forest. Come to think of it, you haven’t heard a single Hoothoot or Kricketot since you’ve entered.

Being human of course, you are slightly interested in what it may be that is just ahead of you, even if whatever is producing that noise may not be as friendly as you’d want. You take only a few more steps to get closer before you can see another source of light other than lady moon. One with a more orange glow to it and it is at this point that the sound you've heard before becomes audible. “-ome on, Bash-, pu-! –rder!” You can’t make out all of it but it is most definitely the sound of a old man shouting at something. Shortly afterwards you can hear some thuds and creaking and what sounds like some sort of Pokémon’s snort; low and loud, obviously some sort of big creature.

Though it may be nice to see a friendly face in this forest and you’re interested to find out more, you are more than a bit suspicious of the fact that someone besides you is out here in the dark and your partner did nothing but shiver at the sound of the big Pokémon’s snort, it might be more than he can handle if things get tough.

What do you do?

Cheers Dave for taking this, I hope to see what kind of awesome updates you can chug out.

I dabble a little bit into headcanon/make up stuff, so don't cringe too much. :P Starting off in Scarlet because Remilia, but you can chose whatever color you like to continue.

Blaze walked through the dense jungle, sweat coming down from his forehead in large beads. Beads that could nearly be called drops. The heat was taking a toll on him, and despite his namesake, he really wasn't comfortable with the heat at all. If it was cold, you could bundle up and put extra layers on, but when it is how, you can only take off so much. And Blaze had no intention of walking through this jungle in the nude. Blaze was in this jungle because he was doing a favor for a friend of his, Dusk. Dusk was the younger sister of Sabrina, a Gym Leader in the Kanto region. She had remained unnoticed until one day a challenger had gotten Sabrina to laugh, and suddenly, Dusk was released from whatever psychic prison she was in. She was then raised by her older sister, and soon, she was growing on her own. One of her hobbies was archeology and mythology, and she regularly traveled to different places to do research. She was given from one of her friends information about a newly discovered temple in South America, but unfortunately, her sister had fallen ill and she had to fill in for her at the Gym, being fully qualified to do so. Blaze remembered the conversation now as he sat under a tree, hoping the shade would alleviate some of the heat.

Blaze was cleaning up his Base before some guests would arrive. He had been expecting them for some time, but didn't know when they were coming. Then again, he didn't remember if he told them where his Secret Base. Blaze couldn't remember something as insignificant as that from that night at the Nightclub. Suddenly, the phone rang, and blaze picked it up.

"Hello? Who is this?"
"Ah, Blaze! It's me, Dusk."
"Dusk! How long has it been since we talked?"
"It's been a few months. I've been busy traveling lately. Anyways, that is what I wanted to discuss with you."
"Hmm?"
"I just got some information that a new temple was discovered in South America, in the country of Peru. Probably something of Inca origin, but I didn't get any information about stuff like that, so I really don't know."
"Well, that's cool. I would imagine you would be on the next flight down there."
"I would be, of course, but the problem is my sister. She isn't doing very well lately, and I have had to take care of her for the past week. And she shows no signs of getting better. I don't know what it is, but I have to stay with her."
"So you want me to go down for you?"
"You got it. And I'm sorry for asking you so abruptly. I promise to meet you when you get back. We'll have a lot to discuss about it."
"Alright. It's okay, I've always wanted to do something like this anyways. It should be fun!"
"Hey Blazey-kun! Who are you talking to!?"
"Umm, Blaze, who is that?"
"Uhhhh....that is my Woobat."
"Your Woobat? Who can talk?"
"Yeah. Why, is that a big deal?"
"Nooo....but if you are going to have girls at the house when I'm there have a little decency."
"Wait Dusk its..."

She had hung up the phone then. Blaze had been mad at the time about it, but he was sure Dusk would understand once she saw the Woobat.

"Blaze! This heat! I don't think I can take much more of this!" Remilia complained as she flew over to him. "This temple better have air conditioning! I'm about ready to pass out." "Remilia, this is an ancient temple. It's not going to have air conditioning. And it should be better inside. We just got to make it there." "Alright. I'm sure as long as Blazey-kun is here I won't pass out. You're too nice of a person to let me do that." Blaze didn't respond to that. Half of what Remilia said she said to get under his skin, and he was sure that comment was exactly that same. He was also convinced that eventually she would fake passing out to see what blaze would do. Remilia wasn't evil, but she was a combination of clever and perceptive. A very childlike combination in a way. "So, Blaze, where did you meet this Dusk lady? What makes her good enough to come all the way out here." "I had traveled a little bit in the Kanto region before coming here. It was just me and Marche back then, and we had met Dusk one day. We became friends ever since." "So, you are friends? Do you have a picture?" "Not on me, no. But we have to worry about getting to this temple first of all." "Yep!" The two of them walked through the jungle, hoping they were moving in the right direction.

Down a nondescript dirt road, flanked on either side by untold quantities of grassy plains, there walked a 22-year-old Pokémon Trainer- Keith Masters. He was dressed in his usual black t-shirt, red and white sleeveless jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers, and brown cowboy hat. And as usual, his Meowth rested on his shoulder. Somewhat unusually, though, walking next to him was a plump-looking yellow Pokémon, looking happy to be walking with her trainer.

"So, Keith," the Meowth said in astonishingly perfect English, "Why ain't youse ridin' on Salazar or Vernon, anyways? Either one o' dem'd be quicker."

"Yeah, but we're in no rush to be anywhere today, Meowth," Keith replied. "Today just seemed like a good day to take a leisurely walk. Don't you agree, Helga?" he added, addressing the Fighting-type beside him.

"Hita! Makuhita!" Helga nodded vigorously.

"Well, I gots a feelin' tings ain't gonna be all dat leisurely today," Meowth remarked. "Dunno wat it is, I just got dis feelin'."

"Like you got the feeling that the shadow you saw was an insane axe murderer?" smirked Keith, eliciting a chuckle from Helga the Makuhita.

"Ehh, shaddup," Meowth snapped to the Fighting-type before he addressed his trainer. "We was goin' ta Marion's house dat time, as you know full well," he scowled. "Our neighborhood's haunted, I didn't know wat to expect!"

"Right," Keith nodded, though he still sounded skeptical of Meowth's claim. Meowth rolled his eyes, but said no more on the subject.

Hi there, MM. This is my first attempt at updating, so please bare with me and PM any problems. :3

Gilded Town - Please reply in LemonChiffon

Missingno. Master: Vibrant and ready for adventure, you decide to take a comfortable stroll down a dirt road, greenery surrounding you on either side as a bright blue sky hovers above you on what looks like a beautiful day. Your Meowth sits relaxed on your shoulder as usual, while your Makuhita trods along beside you.

You enjoy yourself a quick conversation with your talking Meowth and Helga, continuing to travel along the road for what seems like hours. Soon you see a what looks like a town in the distance. Civilization at last! As you reach closer, you notice the bright golden-colored roofs on each of the houses, giving the town a sense of nobility and divinity. You walk into what is the town's main square, scanning around the square you see a group of kids, innocently running around in a game of tag, couples walking along the sidewalks, and elderly feeding the local Pidoves. All seems merry and peaceful in this little town.

You sit yourself down on a bench, a little rest from the long walk wouldn't hurt. Continuing to take in the setting around you, you notice a man approaching you, and he looks to be about the same age as you. Light-skinned with messy blonde hair, he sports a casual button-down blue shirt and brown khakis and gives off a warm, welcoming smile that puts you at ease. "Hey there!" he greets. "You must be new here, I haven't seen you around before, so welcome to Gilded Town! The name's Kaden, I've lived here all of my life, though I've done a bit of traveling here and there. Now I help my father out with his bike shop." He points eastward in the direction of a shop with bikes neatly stacked next to each other outside for display. "This town is pretty small, but I would be happy to show you around, if you'd like," he offers.

Before you can even respond, a loud growl is heard in the distance. You both look and see a small cloud of dust heading towards the town and hear a loud galloping sound that makes your heart pound. You soon see the shape of a bull, no, two, no wait, three bulls hidden in the dust cloud. "TAUROOOOOOOO," the trio of Tauros cry out, sending the once peaceful town in a panic.

All of the previously happy denizens quickly run into their homes, screaming in fear, though they uniformly lock themselves in safely, as if they were used to this kind of occurance. "Oh no, not again..." Kaden groans. The wild Tauros look angry as ever, and they are charging right in your direction! Kaden instinctively reaches into his pocket, pulling out a Pokeball. He holds it out, looking just about ready to send out his Pokemon, but a little help wouldn't hurt.

What do you do?

What do you do?
After a lengthy walk, Keith spotted a town in the distance. "Hey, there's a town up ahead," he observed.

"Finally," grinned Meowth. "Maybe dey gots a nice restaurant we could swing by," he added hopefully.

"Well, we'll see," Keith replied as they drew closer. They entered the town, taking note of the golden-colored roofs on each house. As they approached the town square, Keith looked around, seeing kids playing tag, couples walking the sidewalks, and wild Pidove being fed by the elderly.

"Hita," remarked Helga as she looked around.

"Helga's right," nodded Meowth. "Looks real peaceful here."

At that moment, Keith sat down on a bench. His Makuhita immediately sat next to him, savoring the opportunity to take a break from walking. And then, someone approached Keith- a man who appeared to be his age, sporting a warm, welcoming smile. He introduced himself as Kaden, identifying the town they were in as Gilded Town. "Hey," replied Keith. "Name's Keith. You're right, I'm new here. This is Helga," he added, indicating the Makuhita sitting next to him, who waved at Kaden. "And this is Meowth," he added with a glance to the wisecracking feline on his shoulder. "Don't be too alarmed if you hear-"

"Hey, wassup?" Meowth interrupted.

"...If you hear him speaking," Keith finished. "It's kind of a talent of his."

Kaden then offered to show Keith around town, but before the traveling trainer could even begin to form a response, sudden distraction came in the form of a loud growl. Simultaneously, Keith, Kaden, Helga, and Meowth turned to look- a dust cloud was rolling in, along with a loud galloping sound. The galloping sounded familiar to Keith, and sure enough, he could make out the shapes of a trio of Tauros. At that moment, the townspeople ran into their homes, screaming in fear. They did, however, lock themselves in safely, in a way which suggested this wasn't an uncommon occurrence. Sure enough, Kaden groaned "not again", heavily implying that this is not the first Tauros stampede Gilded Town has seen. He pulled out a Poké Ball, preparing to send out a Pokémon, and Keith reached for his belt to do the same.

"Hita? Makuhita?" Helga said hopefully.

Keith shook his head. "Not by yourself, Helga. If it was one Tauros, maybe, but three? You'd get massacred, and I won't have that." With that, he plucked a Poké Ball off his belt, enlarged it, and heaved it forward. "Severus, I choose you!" he shouted as his Dustox emerged from the ball.

"Tox, tox!" exclaimed Severus as he looked off in the direction of the oncoming Tauros. The Dustox showed no fear whatsoever, instead looking ready for action.

"OK, Severus, blast them with Psychic!" Keith ordered. Then he turned to face his Makuhita. "Helga, I want you to use your Helping Hand on Severus, plus on whatever Kaden brings out, got it?"

"Hita!" replied the Makuhita as she saluted her trainer.

Right then Blaze, let's hop to it. Since you're an accomplished updator yourself, I'll particularly value any feedback you can give me about how to up my game. Hope you have fun!

The Lost Temple - Please reply in Tan

Far out of both civilisation and your comfort zone, you and your Woobat partner struggle along in the dense undergrowth. While the heat is certainly roasting both of you, it is the choking humidity that provides the most discomfort, especially to Remilia's fluffy body, more suited the caves than jungles. Even resting under trees provides little respite as sweat starts to pour from your body, failing to evaporate properly in the humid enviroment.

Still, the pair of you slog onward, and after another half-hour or so of exhausting trekking you notice the vegetation begin to thin, the trees becoming more spaced out. Suddenly you stumble, almost faceplanting before catching yourself. The ground around here in parts has almost a paved quality to it. While mostly covered by leaf litter and plantlife, patches of square tiles remain, showing that this part of the rainforest was once settled... but who by? And how long ago?

Another few minutes of carefully-placed footsteps later, and you see something other than trees. A row of tall stone, square pillars, spaced evenly amongst the ever-thinning foliage, looms toward you. Curious, you approach the closest one to you, examining it closely. It's clearly old, incredibly so, with parts of stone crumbled and flaked away, but what of the original rockwork remains intrigues you. Glyphs cover the intact stone, much of their meaning lost to time, but one that seems to be more of a drawing catches you eye. A great pyramid is carved into the rock, and above its point a shining light.

Perhaps this is a sign of what you seek? Additional marking surround the image of the structure, but their meaning is unclear. Certain that you're on the right path, you venture onward. Another few minutes pass, and the trees grow even less numerous. Then you see it - a huge ziggurat looms up ahead, becoming more visible through the hazy forest air the closer you get. Like the pillars, this structure is obviously ancient, overgrown in places with plants, but is clearly still stable, otherwise it wouldn't be standing. Stopping about 20 feet shy of the wall, you cast your gaze about to look along the crumbling walls.

Further down the wall you've come to, you see what may well be an entrance, so you make your way toward it. As you do, you see more carvings in the stone wall of the vast construction, images that make it clear that this was once a place of worship. People bow before an indistinct shape, which appears once again to be a bright light. What could it be? Soon, you reach what you think might be a way in, and sure enough if appears to be so, but it's sealed shut with a huge square door, 15 feet high. There's no way you're moving that by yourself, but as you investigate the slab, other symbols make themselves apparent. Humanoid figures. One brandishes spoons, another appears surrounded by panes of glass, while yet another holds what looks like a yo-yo... or a pendulum. It looks like that this place was partially built in honour of Psychic-type Pokémon. Perhaps that would be something to think about while working out how to gain access...

What will you do?

OoC: Hi Dave! Have fun honing your updating skills; I bet you'll be amazing. :'D Pick the color you wish, but I'll just be using a marshy color for now in the spirit of this adventure.

Every step Icarus took was accompanied by a squelch, a splash, and a plop. Disgusting. It was a wonder that Icarus's shoes didn't decompose from the constant exposure to marsh slush. Vines that hung from the overlaying trees slapped at Icarus's face and mosquitoes relentlessly attacked the poor trainer from every directions. Wiping the sticky sweat that emerged out of practically swimming in an ocean of mud, Icarus put his hands to his knees and took a breather.

As Icarus fingered the pokeball that lay on the edge of his leather belt, he thought. Icarus hadn't wanted to come here; despite his adventurous nature, ticks, mud, sweltering heat waves, and overall “eww” weren't the things Icarus looked for in a travel brochure. Gah... I should probably practice playing cards more, Icarus groaned. After all, that was what had instigated this journey, a lost card game. (More like 50 lost cards games...)

Before Icarus had been able to come to Fizzy Bubbles, he occasionally had played poker with his acquaintances. The thing was, Icarus was a terrible card player. This led to humongous debts racking up against him, and eventually his friends forgave and forgot. Except one. A short and crafty man going by the name of Hermes, he was a kindred spirit of Icarus in that they both loved to travel. He was the kind of man that doesn’t feel any guilt when asking a 14 year old boy to look for stuff in a marsh. In this particular instance, Hermes was trecking through the great marshes of Sinnoh, looking for a fabled ancient treasure that was laden with milk and honey gold and riches. However, he had misplaced his keepsake compass, which had led to him sending Icarus to do the dirty work.

Icarus lifted the pokeball up into the almost non-existant light and looked at Seth's sleeping face. A spark of annoyance flickered in Icarus’s heart. Later, Icarus would admit that this was probably a dick move, but being dirty and soggy is no predecessor of geniality and kindness.

"Seth, if I'm going to be wet and miserable out here, so are you," muttered Icarus, throwing the pokeball high enough that it brushed the lower canopies of the forest. Landing in a pile of mud, Seth cried out in irritation at the sudden interruption of his sleep. Icarus smiled and patted Seth's back. "You'll get used to it Seth, don't worry."

I'm okay with you ordering up to twice per Pokemon in double/triple battles and three times in single battles.

Missingno. Master: The Tauros continue to stampede towards you, forcing you to quickly think over who you should send out to face such foes. Helga quickly volunteers herself, looking eager to help her trainer out. You think it over, allowing her to do so, but with the help of another teammate. You reach into your belt and grasp onto a Pokeball, enlarging it before you chuck it in the air. Out of it appears Severus, your Dustox.

Kaden quickly follows suit, "Go, Tyson!" he calls, chucking his enlarged Pokeball forward, a small red light beams into the ground and takes the shape of a battle-hardened Hariyama. "Hari-yama!" the Arm Thrust Pokemon cries out, stomping the ground with each foot, one by one, like a sumo wrestler. He quickly eyes his surroundings, acknowledging the presence of you, Meowth, Severus, and a fellow member of the same species, Helga. He gives a nod towards you before turning to face the oncoming bulls.

Both you and Kaden shout your orders just as the angry trio of wild Tauros are within sizeable distance. Severus, Helga, and Tyson all take up a battle stance in front of their trainers, about even distance from each other. Your Dustox is the first to take action, ascending upward a bit with a few flaps before his wings briefly glow pink. With a single flap, Severus bursts out a large wave of Psychic energy, forcefully pushing back all three Tauros several feet, successfully scrambling them apart from each other in the process.

In their state of disarray, the middle of the three Tauros stands up first, looking even more peeved than before. He charges toward Tyson, horns pointed outward in what looks like a Horn Attack before he is soon stopped by two large hands, grasping each horn. "Nice one, Tyson," the blonde trainer compliments, as the Hariyama smirks in response.

Helga doesn't look like she wants to just sit around and quickly claps her hands together twice, before glowing a faint red soon after. Her glow soon fades just as Severus and Tyson starting glowing the same color. Both of which soon feel a bit stronger as a result of the Helping Hand.

"Thanks a bunch," Kaden remarks, sending his regards to you and Helga. With the added strength, Tyson's grasp on the Tauros' horns tightens, just as another Tauros starts to stand back up. As if on cue, Tyson lifts up the Tauros in an awe-inspiring display of strength, before spinning around a few times. In a final spin, the Hariyama uses the momentum to chuck the Tauros right into the recently standing Wild Bull Pokemon with a Vital Throw. The two Tauros collide, causing them both to collapse to the ground as they once were. "Awww yeah," Kaden grins.

The third Tauros is now standing, and he doesn't look happy about what you guys did to his comrades. With a loud, "Taurooo," the Wild Bull lowers its head and begins galloping to Tyson. Just before making contact, the Tauros' head glows bright pink, indicating the Psychic energy charged into it. "Uh oh," Tyson remarks, however it was too late for him to counter. The Tauros makes it mark on the Hariyama's center with its Zen Headbutt, causing Tyson to grunt in pain as he's pushed back a couple feet.

The other two Tauros rise up once more, holding menacing looks on their faces as they advance next to their fellow Tauros that just made a devastating hit on Tyson. "Hang in there, buddy," Kaden calls, "we need to tire these Tauros out if we want them to calm down, otherwise they'll go on wrecking havoc for days." Kaden is starting to look worried, but he keeps a brave face as his Hariyama confidently shakes off the previous blow, showing his readiness to fight for his trainer.

Although you have no idea why these Tauros could be attacking you guys, you realize that these wild Pokemon mean business. It will take more than that to drive them off in the state they're in.

What will you do?

As the Tauros drew nearer, the battle was on. Kaden sent out his own Pokémon, nicknamed Tyson- a Hariyama. Helga looked on in admiration at the sight of her evolved form, and Keith took out his Pokédex.

"Hariyama, the Arm Thrust Pokémon, and the evolved form of Makuhita," it droned. "While Hariyama's body appears fat, it is in fact all muscle. When it tightens its muscles, its body becomes hard as a rock."

The Tauros were getting closer, and so the three Pokémon sprang into action- Severus sent them tumbling over with Psychic, Tyson threw one into the others with Vital Throw, and Helga powered the others up with Helping Hand. Kaden explained that they needed to tire out the Tauros to calm them down, or else they would wreak havoc for days. Keith knew that these Tauros meant business, and that Severus and Helga would really need to work at it if they were gonna drive them off.

"Helga, use your Mega Punch!" Keith ordered, pointing at one of the Tauros. "Then follow it up with Rock Smash! Severus," he added, now pointing at another Tauros, "Use String Shot, then Psybeam!"

Missingno. Master: Orders from both you and Kaden are called out as this unexpected battle royal continues. As if they heard your voices, two of the Tauros angrily cry out before charging towards Helga. The wary Makuhita tightening her fist as they approach. This doesn't look good, Helga may be able to handle one of them at a time, but two at once just seems unfair.

Fortunately, your Dustox answers the call, spewing out a fine string that ties around one of the charging Tauros's feet, causing the large bull to trip over and collapse on itself. If a Pokemon could feel embarrassment, this one did. To top off the String Shot, Severus shoots forth a Psybeam, the rainbow-colored beam washing over the tied up Tauros as he groams in pain. However, the beam has lightened the strings enough for him to break apart, let him rise back up once more. The Tauros pouts in anger, forming brown orbs of energy around him as the orbs takes the shape of sharp Stones, before releasing them at Severus. The Dustox cries out as the jagged Edges strike at him in an unrelenting barrage. With the barrage over, you notice your Dustox panting in pain, having taken a fairly large blow in the exchange. Though Severus continues to maintain flight and eye his foe, not looking to give up.

Meanwhile, the second Tauros continued to charge towards Helga, head arched forward to deliver what looks like a Headbutt, just as your Makuhita's fist starts glowing a bright white. Now in close proximity, both Helga and Tauros leap up in the air as Mega Punch collides with Headbutt. Both Pokemon fly back from the impact of the collision, Helga quickly recovering from the blow before pacing forward with her fist glowing once more, this time glowing a brown hue. The wild Tauros doesn't have quite the same endurance as the fighting-type, and remains a sitting duck as Helga Smashes the bull's head as if it were a Rock. That'll teach him for headbutting her.

In the midst of this action, the third Tauros releases a chilling Icy Wind at Tyson, who holds his Arms in front of him in response as he begins Thrusting his large hands in a flurry of open-handed strikes. He waddles forward, breaking apart the wind with each thrust as he marches, before reaching towards the Tauros and continuing his onslaught. "That's more like it!" Kaden comments as the Tauros takes the brunt of Tyson's powerful hands.

The Tauros cowers back from the barrage, before regrouping with the other two Tauros. Now together once more, all three Tauros cry out in unison as multiple copies form around them. Looks like they have used a Double Team, but there are 3 real ones among the herd of bulls, each of them looking just as real as the next.

What will you do?

OOC: Sorry about the wrong color. Won't happen again.
The battle raged on, with Helga having taken a bit of damage from a Headbutt. Severus had endured a powerful Stone Edge, and was looking decidedly tired. The Tauros had all taken some decent damage, however, between Helga's Rock Smash, Severus's Psybeam, and Tyson's Arm Thrust.

On the other hand, however, the trio of Tauros now looked like a huge herd- the three of them had simultaneously used Double Team, and now there was no telling which of the Tauros were the real ones and which were the copies. Keith knew that he had to think of some way to overcome this issue if he had a hope of taking these Tauros down.

"Geez," Keith murmured. "Not sure how much more Severus can take... And this Double Team isn't helping... Well, we gotta try something... Wait, I know!" he added suddenly. "Severus, Blizzard attack!" he commanded. "That should take care of at least some of the Double Team copies. Then move in on one of the Tauros for a Bug Bite! Helga, two more Rock Smashes!"

Your update was pretty damn frosty Dave!

While the humidity was pretty oppressive, Blaze knew time was a wasting, and continued walking forwards. It wasn't for another half hour or so of walking till Blaze finally noticed that the vegetation was starting to look a little more spread out. The trees were more spaced than before, and Blaze, a little too preoccupied with that fact when he trips over something and goes face first into the ground. Blaze held his hands out and caught himself before any damage to his face could occur, and Remilia giggled behind him. "Blazey-kun, you shouldn't get so distracted! You'll miss what is right before your eyes!" Blaze looked in front of him and saw stone. Getting up, Blaze looked and saw that the ground in front of him was similarly covered in stone. Though most of the ground was covered in plant life and leaf litter, Blaze noticed the stone tiles on the ground. This was paved. This was man-made. "I think we found that temple of yours Blazey-kun." "It seems we did. But I can't see it from here, so it must be ahead from here." "Ahead? Doesn't the stone say 'You are here.'" "Well, it says that someone took the time to pave this, but the temple could still be farther ahead from here. I think we should keep walking forwards, following this path."

After a few more minutes of walking, Blaze found something else other than the trees that surrounded him. It was a massive pillar of square stones. Or no...as Blaze looked more carefully, it was a row of square pillars, each one evenly spaced out. Blaze ran up to the pillar, and remembered something. "Oh yeah! I need to take a picture of this!" Blaze took out his camera, and zoomed in onto the pillar. He could see various glyphs, and tried to get them into focus, before snapping the picture. Looking into the camera, Blaze was happy with the quality of the picture. His Polaroid was still at home, because Blaze wanted to make sure the pictures were of the best quality possible. Moving closer towards the pillar, Blaze noticed that is was crumbling in places, a result of being exposed to the elements, but was relatively intact for being out in the jungle for so long. He looked at one of the glyphs that was somewhat larger than the others, and it was of a pyramid with a bright light at the top of it.

"So, what does this mean Blaze?" "I don't have a clue. Dusk might know since she can read some of these ancient languages, but I don't think this is a temple we are looking for. I think we are looking for a pyramid." Remila looked at him like he was stupid. "The pyramids are in Egypt, Blaze." "Yes, but, other civilizations have had pyramids or ziggurats. The civlizations of Mesopotamia, particularly Babylon, had ziggurats. Even the Aztec had pyramids of their own. It seems to be a structure that is natural to build for people. And often more than not, these pyramids had some sort of religious significance. In Babylon they were places of worship for the gods. And you know about Egypt, since the pharaohs were also considered gods." "So, this was a religious site?" "Possibly. We aren't going to know until we keep going in." Blaze walked away from the pillar and continued, before turning around suddenly with his camera. He took a picture of the row of stone pillars, satisfied with it. After another few minutes of walking, Blaze finally saw what he was looking for in the distance. Through the hazy jungle air, he could see the massive ziggurat. "Wow Blazey-kun! It's massive!" "It is. This has got to be one of the biggest ever. How was this never found before?" Blaze started running towards the ziggurat, the massive structure slowly but surely coming into focus. Blaze stopped about 20 feet away from the wall of the ziggurat, taking out his camera, and snapping a picture. He then looked at the grumbling walls. He took a picture of that as well, before looking ahead.

Ahead of him, Blaze saw a possible entrance to through the walls, Blaze walked down to it. He saw that there was more carvings in the stone wall. Blaze stopped to look at one of the carvings, that of men prostrating themselves to a bright light, some sort of unknown entity. "Do people really bow like that? Nobody ever did that to me." "It's more ancient that anything else. But I was right. This was some place of worship. Whatever this light is, they felt they needed to worship it." "It is possible it could be a Pokemon?" "Possible. But I've never seen a light Pokemon." Blaze continued walking down towards the entrance, and then sighed as he looked. It was a entrance, but it was sealed by a massive stone slab, being at least 15 feet high. There was no way Blaze could move that massive door, and he doubted even the combined forces of Marche and Black Dynamite could do it. Blaze took out his camera and took a picture of the slab, noticing that there were more carvings and symbols on the slab. There were humanoid in appearance, but Blaze knew that this did not mean they were human. One of the figures brandished spoons, another seemed to be surrounded by panes of glass, while another one held a yo-yo. No, not a yo-yo, that was the Polynesians. This was a pendulum. "Blazey-kun, what is this?" "This is...I'm not sure. They mean something. The first one is wielding spoons...could he be hungry?" "Hungry? I doubt it Blaze. Those spoons had a second purpose. But look at the second one. If I got it right, it seems to be like that person is using Light Screen?" Blaze looked at it again. While he could not be sure, it was definitely a possibility. "And the third one, he is holding a pendulum Blaze. If I was right about the second one, then this one must mean like Hypnosis. And the first one must be like the spoons they use for telekinesis." "Was this a place where they worshiped psychic Pokemon?" "Yep, it might be Blaze. A place for psychic Pokemon and suns." "Suns?" "Yeah, the bright light. What else could it mean? I doubt it is a star." Suns? Why did that seem so familiar? Blaze finally realized the connection(if there was one. He exactly wasn't batting 100 with his archeological guesses), and pulled out his Pokedex. After clicking a few of the buttons, he showed it to Remilia.

Quote:
Solrock, the Meteorite Pokemon.

A new Pokémon species, rumored to be from the sun. It gives off light while spinning. Solrock is of the Rock/Psychic type.
"Solrock? Blazey-kun, I think you are starting to think. A Pokemon from the sun, and a Psychic type at that? It is very possible it was a Solrock. But we need to figure out how to open the door first." "Right. Well, if this was a place for psychic types, then it must be opened by psychic attacks?" "Hmm. I see no other way Blaze." "Alright then. Remilia, use your Confusion attack on the door!" Blaze had more psychic power in back-up, just in case. 'Come on, this should work.'

*********** Forest
OoC: sorry for that god awful intro post, I wanted to get it up and I was stressed about exams, and it turned out terrible, sorry. Also Teppa is the one who can talk human, light can’t understand Pokémon.

Light continued into the forest, as he crept past yet another tree the roots seemed to grab his foot, making him stumble, bruising his confidence and his knee. But as he walked on he realised that the going wasn’t so different than in the day and his pace increased. Shure there were a few surprises, but Light gained confidence as he went deeper in.

“This isn’t so bad Teppa, maybe we’ll have some fun”
Teppa peeked out from under Light’s hood, “No-t so su-re. Ba-d th-ings are mo-ving. N-o sou-nds” and with that he drew his head back in.
“It’ll be fine, don’t worry.” Light dismissed Teppa’s speech as scared ramblings. “You’re getting better at talking, good job”

The moons eerie glow sets patches of the forest alight with an unearthly halo, whilst others are plunged into darkness. Not long after Light’s dismissal of Teppas warning the pair began to hear sounds from a little ways ahead of them.
“-ome on, Bash-, pu-! –rder!” the shouts shattered the silence, and Light realised that he should have heeded Teppa’s warning, the normal chorus of Kricketots was absent and a single hoot hadn’t been heard all night, and the new sounds were ominous at best. After pausing for a moment Light spoke. “what do you thi-*CRASH, THUD, SNORT GRROWL*
Teppa who was emerging from his hiding place dove back in with a squeal and began to shake. Light himself jumped back in fear, worried that something was coming for them. The sounds that he heard were sounds of a very big Pokémon. “u-um T-Teppa d-do you th-think it’s a g-good idea to s-see what’s g-g-going on?”
“M-n-m-b-n-mnt-“ Teppa was shaking so much he couldn’t respond.
“Well we came here for adventure so let’s go get some!” Said Light trying to hid the fear in his voice.

His mind made up Light walked towards the sores of the sound and called out to the old man:
“Hello, is anyone there? My name’s Light”

Though unnerving at first, adventure was what you came for and backing down when it might literally be around the corner is not an option. With your Seedot unable to protest you call out to whomever may be lurking ahead of you.

“Hello, is anyone there? My name’s Light”

You can clearly see the light shaking frantically and the man panting heavily from shock. “What?! Who goes there?!” The old man shines his light in your direction. You come out to show yourself and greet him but the light’s blinding you too much to get a good look at him.

“Oh sorry about that,” he says as he points down his flashlight. His face and features are becoming visible. It definitely was an older man, not too old though – still able to carry himself just fine. His face looks a bit worn out from a few too many hardships and his eyes are one of the first things you notice as they seem to be dancing around all over you, looking puzzled.
“Kid,” he finally says. “Are you one of the lost ones?” he asks. He interrupts you before you can answer though. “Nah, couldn’t be. I sure don’t remember your face from one of the pictures. Do you even know where you are?” He shines his flashlight again to take a closer look at you.

“Bah, never mind. Kid, help out an old man would you. And hurry it up!” He took a brief moment to peer into the distance with his flashlight for no apparent reason. The man seemed almost desperate for your help but his kindness was almost suffering from it. He walks back and points at the ground with his flashlight. “Here’s my trouble.”

It was a supply cart. One of the back wheels had been stuck in a small ditch stopping it from moving in any direction. You look over the cart. Inside it you find ears of corn, nothing peculiar though you can’t help but shake the feeling that there was something off about it. Perhaps it was just simply the lack of light playing tricks on you. But there was, however, one thing that was very different and of which you were sure it wasn’t some prank pulled by the night. The thing that was pulling the cart was a Pokémon. And it was huge.

You take a few steps to take a closer look before the Pokémon turns its head and looks down on you, revealing it’s face and all its details. It towered above you with its 4 sturdy legs at a height nearing an unnatural 9 feet. It had antlers that would have been more intimidating would it not have been for the bright green leaves it seemed to be growing on top. They weren’t fully vibrant in colour, there were patches of yellow and brown here and there but some might argue that these patches of discolouration would have only added to its splendour.

“Kid, don’t dawdle off!” You snap out of your fixation on the large Pokémon to go back to the old man. A loud and low grumble could be heard in the far distance, even deeper than the one you heard before. The old man shines his flashlight in its direction and became dead silent. He listened for about 3 seconds before talking to you again.

“Okay, we have to be quick. I think they might know we’re here.” He gestures you towards the wheel. “On the count of three, push.”

“1…”

“2…”

“3!”

You both push your weight into the cart, while the large ruminant Pokémon pulls. “Come on, Basher!” the old man yells. “Pull! Harder!” The cart’s creaking as if it might break instead and you feel your feet slipping in the dried-up mud as you're giving your last bit of weight but it’s enough as you can hear the loud thump of success of the wheel moving and hitting the ground.

“Yes!” the old man cried. He quickly moved himself around the cart, places himself at the front and clutches the reigns. “Kid,” he says when looking over his shoulder. “I know I can’t force you or anything but-“ His face shows the same worry it had before when he heard the noise from the forest. “But please come back with me to the village.” As if on cue, a concerto of loud, low, grumbling and shrieking noises can be heard in the distance which die out as fast and sudden as they had started. The old man is nearly panicking and leans in closer to you. “You’ll only end up like all the others, just come with me and go in the morning.” He’s waiting for your answer but that might not last.

He seems generally scared of what it is that’s making those noises and would want nothing more than to get out of the forest as fast he can and take you with him, but on the other hand – adventure is what you came for and leaving so soon after you have only just arrived isn’t how you’re going to find it.

What do you do?

OoC: I may have kinda chosen what your character is doing in terms of pushing the cart, but it would have felt dull if I stopped at every moment just to ask ‘Do you help him push?’ when it’s really just a small gesture.
