Work In Progress
I got a tablet, but it feels awkward drawing with one compared to paper and pencil.
Is this something I have to learn to get better with? I'll post some doodles here when I've got some done =p |

:o Practice is the best way to get used to it~ You don't have to do anything special, but I fiddled with my tabet's properties til I found something I was comfortable with.
:D Looking forward to those drawings~ DX Freaking typing on an iPad. |

I bought a drawing tablet a little while ago and it's definitely awkward as hell. I had a lot of trouble using it simply because once the pen got close to the board it would try to draw or click, even if it wasn't touching. This drawing is the best I have done with a tablet so far and I'd like to do better, like some of the REALLY high quality stuff I see around, but I'm not sure how to do that. So, like Loki, if there are any suggestions.... please help! (Wacom bamboo medium sized tablet)

My avatar is actually done by mouse on a sloppy pre-dawn morning.
I bought a Monoprice 8x6 Graphic Tablet. I don't know about Wacoms. The biggest difference is the resistance of the pen to tablet compared to pencil and paper. Also it's weird to have to look at a screen and not where my hand is doing the actual doodling. |

This is a bit of a test doodling. I had originally planned to draw something else, but then it turned into a dragon and then I added a knight for no raisin. |

Drew Deviljho from Monster Hunter Tri. Okay... he doesn't look that much like a Deviljho. I liked doing this one though cause I got to try a lot of the functions I never used before. |

:o I'm thinking of streaming today, and if you're around that time, I can show how some of the functions work? You can say it's a tutorial, but haha I suck at teaching people stuff~
You're good at drawing reptilious creatures~ |

Rathalos... or the beginnings of one. I got about done with the neck and stuff and my hand started to get stiff and tired. I'll post the completed work soonish. I hope. Still need a body, wings, legs, tail, carcass, and possibly a hunter fighting him. I put in the flame for fun, but it's probably won't be on the final version. |

Rathalos has way too many scales that point out. I'll go back to him in the future.
I tried drawing some people, but they all sucked. Not even going to show them. Then I decided to just do some random stuff. 87 (or less) Talons. Inspired by Talon87. Also renamed the thread. Felt it was appropriate for both my artworks and myself. |

WIP of coarse, but after only about an hour or so, I'm pretty pleased with how it looks. I hope I'm as pleased with the ultimate end result. Anyway, a very good lesson I taught myself, reference photos help a lot. |

Seems to be something to do with how they redirect traffic when you click on their links. He's basically loading the middleman (which is no image at all), but if you put the link into your browser's URL window, it'll first load the middleman, and the middleman will then automatically redirect you to the real picture.
tl;dr Just click this: http://s8.postimage.org/98fdzn41f/Fem_Fighter_Alpha.jpg

I switched out of Imageshack because some people have complained it didn't work. Now some people aren't able to view with PostImage.
That sword and the hand holding it was a pain. I extended the handle to be more of a longsword instead of a scimitar, but then when I finished the blade, it looked short. So I had to keep extending it. Then it just kept getting harder and harder to keep the line somewhat straight. In the end I copypasta'd the longest and straightest section until it was the length you roughly see now. Hurray for digital work! I had redone the blade itself like a dozen times at least. I settled with one with a fuller instead of using a diamond shape. Hands are hard in general, but this one came out okay. After looking at my own hand holding a flashlight for about half an hour, I felt it was accurate enough. The shield was originally bugging me. A lot. I couldn't get my hand in the right position to draw it at such an angle. Like being on a tablet wasn't hard enough. Then I realized I can turn the entire image to an angle. Then everything was easy peasy. HURRAY AGAIN! Also fixed the chest a little. Tomorrow I'll try to fix the left hand on the knee. It just doesn't look good and after about 5 or so attempts today, I just decided to keep what I had and leave it for another time. EDIT: While at D&D, I had a bit of downtime for a bit as my character was not involved in anything until I assassinated the leader of a noble house. ANYWAY, while I was free, I did some more work. This time Imageshack worked (their new Javascript isn't working for me it seems). I realized the left hand looked all wrong because the left arm looked all wrong. It was kind of too long. Maybe. IDK. You guys tell me. Anyway, I decided to shorten the arm and the hand turned out pretty well afterwards. Then, because the arm is shorter, I ended up having to turntable the left knee to make it fit properly. Thank goodness I used different layers for each limb, this made editing a very minor thing. Personally I like the changed. Also shifted the shield a little bit. Gimme some opinions people. Last edited by Loki; 11-16-2011 at 12:01 AM. |

Spoiler: show So after looking at that first design this morning, it felt kind of plain (A). I did a newer design (B), but it looks kind of menacing, which the character shouldn't be. Tell me which design you guys like. Feel free to section parts off. i.e. if you like A more, but like B's skirt, etc. |

I never knew you could draw, Loki. >.>; These aren't looking too bad.
I like B's shoulder pads+scales and shield more. I'm torn between the good old fashioned crotch-guard flap and the skirt. |

I never drew anything during High School cuz I had no art classes. I didn't draw much in Middle School cuz I had claymation (which is fun and super annoying). I used to doodle from time to time, but no real scanner and no tablet made it pretty difficult to keep on track with a single drawing.
Because it's all on the computer now, I can save something and keep working on it. |

Well I didn't know you in MS, remember? Hell, I only went to school with Gr for one year during Middle School. Claymation sounds cool though, I had pottery. I think I've shown people my zombies and grenades.
Anyway, keep at it man. The designs are pretty good. I'm assuming with the skirt it's a chick. If not, I'm sure the breeze feels nice at least. |

The girl's head looks a little small, but other than that everything is fantastic.

Do you guys know if there's any kind of liquid-ish effect on Paint Tool Sai? Trying to draw a Venom/Carnage symbiote style thing.
