Salad Dressing
What's your favorite? Besides based Italian, which is clearly the best.

Caesar Salad > Salad w/ Caesar bottled dressing, the two not being the same thing by any stretch of the imagination, but my vote for this poll will still go to Caesar bottled dressing all the same. Quite nice. I especially love the blend that they use at Golden Corral. I don't know what it is that they put in that dressing, but it is a-fucking-mazing.
As a kid, my favorite was Buttermilk Ranch. Or rather, it was my mother's favorite and the one the house always had in stock. I still enjoy it, but after a long absence from it for many years, when I returned to it some 2-3 years ago and ever since, it's not tasted nearly as desirable to me as it did when I was a child. Nowadays, I tend to actually eat most of my salads dry, so had you had an option for that, that's probably what I would have picked. (I know you have "Other," but given how you created the poll, I get the impression you wanted us to at least pick our favorite dressing even if we're not dressing people.) But once again ... A proper Caesar salad > a salad with Golden Corral Caesar salad dressing >> a salad with Caesar salad dressing > the other choices listed. At least for me. Will eat: ranch, Caesar, Honey Dijon (especially on chicken salad), Italian Will not eat: blue cheese, vinegarette, Thousand Island (on salad; on other foods is fine), French

Salad and all salad-related items can go and die in a fire.

I usually only go for Caesar, Italian, and just olive oil. However, olive oil is the best out of those in my mind, so I'll go with other, Caesar being a close second.

I used to eat only Ranch if I ate anything at all but got over that fast. I like all kinds of dressings now, especially vinaigrettes. My favorite is probably Balsamic Vinaigrette. I've warmed up to Blue Cheese recently since my parents prefer it and like to eat it with salads with chicken on them.

Seriously. I don't like salads. I don't like the taste of chlorophyll. Makes me gag. I'm okay with non-green veggies, but I hate stuff like lettuce, spinach, and cabbage. Broccoli is okay in the right sauce.

I'm like Loki when it comes to spinach, but only because when I was in 11th Grade, I ate spinach for breakfast for three months straight as part of a training regimen. Now I'm permanently intolerant of the stuff, for the most part.
I don't care for dressing on vegetables in general, I like the taste of vegetables and prefer eating them without sauce. Meat is a different case, unless the meat is good, the sauce is probably all too necessary. Thousand Island is my de facto favourite on everything, though.

Raw spinach with honey dijon... delicious. Bacon and egg is good in it, too.
I like salad. |

I could eat Caesar Salad everyday of the week and be absolutely fine. Especially if it's home made and really strong, of course my breath would probably be strong enough to liquify vampires that get too close. Garlic FTW!
Did you know that whole milk obscures the smell of garlic breath. The more you know. |

Salad is ok. I'll eat it if someone makes/buys it for me, but I usually won't make/buy it myself.
When I am eating a salad, however, I prefer to use some sort of fruity vinaigrette as a dressing.

I generally don't eat salad. It takes way too much to fill my ass up, and even if it does fill me up, I get hungry again in 30 minutes. Not cost efficient at all!
I do use salad dressing to dip carrots in though. They're pretty decent as snacks. Anyway, I prefer Italian. The tangiest choice is always the best choice. |

Who dresses salad? You're supposed to eat food, not play with it.

Personally, I love vegetables in all their forms. They come second only to meats. Eating them without dressing is fine, but why would I? A dressing is meant to further enhance the flavor and make the whole mix that much better, not mask it. If you're adding enough dressing that you're actually losing the taste of the vegetable itself, then clearly you're doing something wrong. It's just a dress not a full on Holloween custome.
Anyways, a nice Balsamic Vinagrette is what I usually end up using most of the time, though my favorite dressing is Ceasar (used exclusively on a Ceasar Salad). I can enjoy all kinds of dressings though. I recently found myself using a Blue Cheese based Vinagrette on a salad involving Nuts, Cranberries & Goat Cheese. It was amazing. My favorite kind of salad however is Caprese. Sliced Tomato with Buffalo Mozzarella and just a sprinkle of Olive Oil, some salt, and fresh Basil is all it needs. I can eat that shit every single day. |
