idk I don't feel hyped after that showcase. Maybe because they had to slow things down to get through it all but my squirrels-ridden head couldn't get too into it. Also if I heard them say "beginner friendly" one more time I woulda flipped like yep, we know, you're helping the new guys we get it say soMETHING ELSE ANYTHING ELSE. Still, pretty cool knowing we have a woodpecker pokemon now. Also that stat modification level screen will be a useful little tool for my forgetful ass.
Also watching the dude run into a wild battle with three pokemon in critical health, lose Popplio and then send Ledyba out into a flying type low-key angered me juuuuuust a little. But that's coming from the guy who obsessively makes sure his pokemon are at full health before any and all battles so. Also apparently, we have some info on Yungoos' ability Stake Out: "With the Stakeout Ability, this Pokémon’s moves can deal twice the normal damage to any Pokémon that switch in or enter the field mid-battle." Phaze Return inc

Some Yungoos have an Ability that no other Pokémon discovered has previously had. This Ability is known as Stakeout. With the Stakeout Ability, this Pokémon’s moves can deal twice the normal damage to any Pokémon that switch in or enter the field mid-battle.
BECAUSE WE NEEDED TO PUNISH SWITCHING MORE

Grubbin's evolution:

Getting married! :D
|
Hadn't followed this thread in a while, but I gotta say I quite like most of the new revealed Pokémon. Especially Iwanko and the Woodpecker, and Grubbin and the Koala aren't too bad looking either.
And can't wait to see what Iwanko and Grubbin evolve into.

Wouldn't it be the computer guy because of its fondness of electricity?

Yep, I called solgaleo's other, er, "phase", and Talon called the woodpecker representation. Go figure.
Yungoose really holds no genuine interest for me. Maybe that's just me being all anti-hostility or something around those lines, but it is what it is. Pikipek does look cute enough (well, cuter than starly anyway), though I really hope it gets some actually viable moves to abuse Skill Link with. Grubbin... I sincerely hope it doesn't eveolve into a fly. I really don't like those things... Popplio learning disarming voice naturally seems like a good indicator that it's going to be a fairy later on down the line, seeing as every other pokemon that does so is either a fairy, capable of becoming a fairy, or milotic (which could still wind up becoming a fairy with a mega). I'm not exactly sure what to feel about this, to be honest... |

a quick fly cuppa

They cut off Shieldon's face, attached horns to it and glued the head onto a pudgy white Caterpie.
Creativity at its finest. In all seriousness this thing is cute. |

OK, now that I got the time, I'm gonna go over all the new stuff properly.
Pikipek: Finally, we learn the identity of the infamous wireframe woodpecker! All things considered, I'm thinking we can reasonably expect it to learn Fury Attack and Bullet Seed. I'm interested as to whether it'll get some new Flying move that works with Skill Link as well. Not sure I'll want one on my team in-game, but I like it nonetheless. Yungoos: This one caught me by surprise. It's kinda cool, though not sure it's my favorite Rattata equivalent out there Liking that Stakeout Ability, though, and I certainly hope it gets Hyper Fang to go with that Strong Jaw. Like with Pikipek, not sure if this'll make it to my in-game team, but not a bad option. Grubbin: This is kinda cool. The mention of how it hangs around power plants gets me wondering whether we may be in for a Bug/Electric final form. Battle Royale: FUCK. YES. Especially if this can be done with random players online. This is all kinds of cool and I can't wait to be able to give it a try. Also, the trailer for this feature seems to further cement the fact that we got customizable clothing back. We pretty much knew this from the first trailer, but only by pausing at just the right time to notice the different colored shirt stripes- this is a lot more obvious. Starter moves: Rowlet getting Tackle, saw it coming. Litten getting Scratch, wasn't exactly rocket surgery. Popplio getting Pound and Growl, not hard to predict. Popplio getting... Disarming Voice? That's interesting. That's Fairy, Fairy interesting. I only wish we'd have seen something similar with Hau's Litten in that battle. Like, oh, say... Smog? Would not have minded that. I mean, granted, Disarming Voice doesn't exactly confirm anything, considering other recipients of said move include Pichu, the elemental monkeys, and Skitty, but even so, it does give us something to think about. And it wouldn't be their first time foreshadowing a starter's eventual secondary typing. Fennekin using Psychic, anyone? Magearna stuff: So, Soul Heart works like a Special Attack version of Moxie that doesn't require Magearna to deal the finishing blow, that's pretty cool. And I'll bet you guys Pokédollars to Poffins that Fleur Cannon is at least part Fairy. Super effective against a Pangoro, signature move of a Steel/Fairy-type, not too hard to figure out... In-battle stuffs: FREAKING AWESOME. You can see to exactly what degree each Pokémon's stats have been buffed or nerfed, I love it! And actually seeing the Trainer throw the Poké Ball at the wild Pokémon is awesome as well! Only real gripe is, the "wild Pokémon caught" jingle still hasn't gone back to the vastly superior version used in R/B/Y/FR/LG/E, but that's pretty minor compared to the cool stuff. Oh, and viewing the move descriptions no longer requires you to hold L, that's pretty awesome, considering I always set the button configuration to L=A. EDIT: OK, nope, still seems to require you to hold L... Last edited by Missingno. Master; 06-14-2016 at 05:08 PM. |

So if Grubbin likes to eat by power plants due to it liking electricity, does it mean future Electric/Bug or Ground/Bug?

GRUBBBBBIIIIIIIINNNNNN Man I love Grubbin. Grubbin is my baby and I will use it on my team I don't care Pikipek is a weird name, but hey, at least trailerbirb confirmed. Dunno how I feel about Yungoose. Battle Royale is the best thing though and I am interested in seeing how it'll be incorporated into ASB. |
