Balmund's blah, blah, blah Gallery of Doomy Doom
Were I post whatever doodles and stuff I make from time to time. For now, I was bored and this was the result:
Spoiler: show I'm a horrible artist. Sevipers totally don't look like that, but maybe this one's a poor mutant that got fat off of noming on too many eggs. Easter is yesterday's news but what gives, I was inspired. I'll probably do better stuff once I get my tablet back and a proper computer to work on later on. So I have this FB project where I'm essentially drawing humanized versions of my Pokémon. Currently trying to color my (redrawn) version of Seviper, and struggling something fierce with the hair. Le sigh. I guess I'm just impatient.
WIP: Spoiler: show I swear, I'll finish this and it'll be bloody beautiful. I'm likely overdoing it though. *pulls out eraser tool* Shading for the rest of the body is pending once I'm through with the hard part. I guess I could try going the lazy path and just for a much simpler form of shading for the hair, but that ain't gonna help me polish my skills anytime soon. :P |

Shading for hair is a pain. There's someone who has a ten minute video on youtube of themselves doing it and it's a sped up video.
I'm surprised you start off so light and work your way darker. I try to do the opposite and work dark to light since I personally feel it helps lighting look a bit more realistic since that's technically how actual lightning works... sorta. BTW, looks good so far. |

Also, hair can go to hell. I decided on using the much easier method of treating bangs like they're one solid object. Doesn't get any ooh's and aah's, but it gets the job done. Spoiler: show Design notes: Clothing is meant to be Sporty, like what a Cooltrainer would use (maybe), taking only a bit in common with Lucy's design in how much skin it shows. The left armband could be a Hardy reference. Admittedly, I didn't really pay that much attention to certain parts of Seviper's design, being mostly the yellow hexagons that adorn its body. I did make sure the entire color palette was there. I'd say if it screams Seviper at first glance without it being cosplay level exaggeration, then I've done a good enough job. *nods* |

I love it!! Her expression is perfect, haha~ Also, I like that you made her clothing reminiscent of Seviper as opposed to a blatant reference to her Pokemon identity.
I can't wait to see the human rendition of Durandal, personally.

But what about Sothe? He's supposed to be a cool guy, right?

It's been a long time since I drew anything, so here's a quickie I made inspired by a conversation I had with Marion ages ago. So, how does Aegislash look while holding an Air Balloon?
Spoiler: show Dang I'm rusty as hell. Aegislash really do like them Air Balloons though! You should try it some time. |

...The shading on that Aegislash is so masterful I actually though it was official artwork for a not insignificant period of time.

Because of reasons, I can't quite do digital art again for a while, but still I felt inspired enough to do a sketch of my WF character, Belinda Wolf. I just needed an excuse to wear the rust off.
Spoiler: show Be sure to click on the WF link on my signature if you'd like to read more about her. Last edited by Balmund; 07-14-2017 at 01:02 PM. |

Did someone say more?!
Over here, a sketch of Belinda's slightly redesigned face and hairstyle, both front and back. Spoiler: show As a bonus treat, here's a Machamp with a bit of swag. I decided to toy with the idea of how Belinda's Pokémon companion would look like once fully evolved. It's still kinda all over the place, but the cool shades and shirt are in to stay. Spoiler: show |
