Gary awoke the next day and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. It had been a long night the night before with a meeting full of unexpected guests. The plot with the suspicious casino and missing Pokemon was a heavy one, but it was on the back of Gary’s mind now as he had a growing stable of hungry Pokemon that needed to be fed. He changed into his swimming trunks and a long-sleeved dry suit top and pulled back the curtain on his bedroom window. The sun shined in brightly and he looked around the room. Typhu the Typhlosion lay curled up on the flame-print rug and Espy the Espeon lay at the foot of his bed. “Rise ‘n shine, guys!” he greeted with a smile.

Heading out of his bedroom and into the living room, Gary walked over to the kitchen. Pulling a wide assortment of food to cater to a vast variety of species, Gary left some bales of hay and bowls of leaves for the herbivores, a bowl of mineral-rich rocks for his Larvitar, fruit for the omnivores, and some ground beef for his carnivores. “Food’s ready!” he called out, and on cue a number of Pokemon trickled out of the other room in the back, including a Stantler, Sneasel, Smeargle, and Charizard.

Gary then headed across the hallway into the aquarium room. A Blastoise, Golduck, and Slowpoke had just left the large fountain in the middle and had walked past Gary on their way into the kitchen. With the fountain Pokemon taken care of, Gary walked past the fountain paying it no heed. As Gary approached the large aquarium tank, he smiled as he observed the fish swimming around. There was a Mantine, Alomomola, Kingdra, and Chinchou. “Wait, where’s Pickle?” Gary asked. Sensei the Alomomola swam down to Gary’s eye level on the other side of the glass before swimming over to a rock formation in the back. Alarm instantly swept over Gary out of concern for his young sea cucumber. “I can’t see, is she okay?” he asked to have Sensei nod in response. “Alright, let’s get in there and see what—”

There was a brief knock on the door which interrupted Gary’s train of thought. “Oh shoot, who could it be? Hang on a sec, guys…” Gary hurried over to the front door and opened it. Before him stood a Pelipper with a parcel in its mouth. “Oh! The delivery is here! Prefect, thank you.” Gary grinned and signed the delivery bill which he handed to the Pelipper, who took it and flapped away. Taking the package inside, Gary closed the door and walked over to his desk. “This is perfect timing, guys,” he called out to the Pokemon in the aquarium, “I’ve got a new friend for you to meet.” Gary opened the package, revealing a lone Pokeball that was insulated in padding. Pulling it out, Gary took it and walked past the fountain once again, not noticing the small ripple on the surface of the water.

*BAM* Patches bursts open Gary’s door, pausing only for a moment to catch her breath before continuing to run. The mats jingle only briefly beneath her feet since she manages to get across them quickly. “Gary!!! Have you seen my Totodile!? I haven’t seen him since I was last here!” She doesn’t see Gary when she comes in so she hopes that he can at least hear her. Knowing that she needs to retrace her footsteps she runs to the table where she was gathered with friends on a previous night and after not seeing him out in the open she dives under it. “Gary, he’s not under your table!!!!”

“Chu chuu!” Mio, who had also accompanied Patches today is now trying to get her attention in order to lead her somewhere. Patches bangs her head on the table after crawling back out and trying to stand up, she is so worried that she wasn’t paying attention and stood up a bit too early. Eventually, she manages to actually stand up and is now holding her head where she will probably form a bump later. “Oh, I’m coming Mio.” She follows Mio into another room with a large fountain, Mio hops up onto the edge and points to a small ripple in the water. Patches runs over and looks at the ripple, suddenly Totodile’s head pops up before he happily swims away. “Totodile, you had me worried sick!! Come on, it’s time to go. It’s not nice to impose on other people when you’re a guest.” Says the person who practically just busted down Gary’s door unannounced. The Totodile gives Patches a really sad look before he continues to swim around a bit. “Totodile, you can’t just stay here…” Totodile perks up at the mention of staying and begins to practically dance in the water. “I mean, I know you spend a lot of time in your ball when you’re with me it’s just that I don’t have a whole lot of water like Gary does.” The Totodile gives Patches a pleading look. “I guess I do feel bad that I haven’t been spending a lot of time with you and you do seem really happy here, but it’s not up to me. This is Gary’s house.”

Gary had taken but two steps towards the aquarium when he heard the front door burst open down the hallway followed by the jingle of the music note mats. “What the,” he pondered, turning around, “Who the heck is that?” He wouldn’t get his answer though, as the unexpected guest turned right into the living room. As the visitor darted into the room and crawled under the kitchen table, the Pokemon chowing down on their food looked over out of curiosity. The guest called out to Gary, unable to find what they were looking for, so Raphael the Blastoise turned to face her with a mouth full of lettuce. He simply pointed in the direction of the aquarium room, in which the guest bumped her head and quickly darted in that direction.

As Gary had taken steps toward the hallway to the kitchen to see who was there, he was nearly knocked over by the girl who ran past him and over to the fountain with her Pikachu. “Oh! From last night… you were, uh, Cardia or Patches, right?” He scratched his head as the girl ignored him and started talking to the fountain. He turned around to see what the commotion was about, but then suddenly a Totodile appeared out from underwater in the fountain. “Woah, when did that get here? A Totodile, huh? That really takes me back…” Flashbacks of his youth in Johto ran through his mind when he was a trainer just starting out on his Pokemon journey and a smile crept onto his face. “Is that Totodile yours? He sure is cute.”

Now that Patches has found her missing Pokemon, she finally realizes that Gary is actually present. “Oh, hi Gary! Yeah, this Totodile is mine. Sorry, I didn’t notice you because I was worried sick about him. It looks like I had nothing to worry about though, he seems to be really happy in this fountain…” She hesitates for a moment as she realizes her Totodile actually appears to be pretty at home here. She has never been able to provide him with such a large place to swim that wasn’t a river somewhere and they didn’t find themselves around rivers very often. “Well, I’m sorry about this. I know that this is your home and he didn’t ask to swim in there.” She looked at her Totodile again, he was still giving her a pleading look that says he never wants to leave. “I’m sorry Totodile, it’s just that you’re my Pokemon and this is Gary’s home so you can’t stay here…” She pauses to think for a moment and that’s when she remembers that this place has a slide and she realizes she needs to solve this quick.

“I’ve got it!!!” She digs through her bag and pulls out a pokeball handing it to you. “Totodile doesn’t seem to want to leave and I don’t want my Pokemon imposing upon you, so here! He’s yours now! This way he won’t be imposing since he’s your Pokemon!” She feels really happy knowing that Totodile will never be forced to leave the place he seems to love. Of course, she didn’t really think this entire thing through at all since all she can think about is playing on the slide at this point but, it’s probably still for the best. Wasting no time at all, she runs through the base and starts playing on the slide. Meanwhile, Mio decided that she would visit the kitchen since there seems to be a crowd in there.

Gary was speechless for a few moments as Patches places the Pokeball in his hands. “What?” he asked, dumbfounded. “You’re giving me your Totodile? As in, to keep?” Gary really didn’t know what to say. He looked down at the Totodile who was happily floating in the fountain. It looked back up at him with a big toothy grin. By the time Gary looked back up, Patches had already run off and left the room. Gary took a second look at the Totodile before hurrying off after Patches to make sure this wasn’t some kind of prank.

As he entered the living room and kitchen area, he could already find Patches playing on the big white slide on the far side of the room. Most of Gary’s Pokemon were still eating their food while a few others had finished and begun to go about their business. Scurvy the Aipom hung upside down from a tree branch and stared at the guest, as amused by her unpredictable nature as he was the night before. Typhu the Typhlosion stared at Patches long enough to make sure she wasn’t a threat before going off to nap in Gary’s bedroom. “So, uh, are you sure about this? I mean, I love Totodiles, but don’t you have a history with him or anything?” Gary chuckled nervously, feeling guilty for just taking a Pokemon off of Patches’ hands.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, the visiting Pikachu that accompanied Patches made her rounds to introduce herself. As she did, she came across a small gathering of Pokemon that were chowing down on their food, including Amph, Espy, a Smeargle named Buru, and Lynxa the Sneasel. Pokey Jr the Slowpoke absentmindedly mushed his face against his bowl full of food blissfully unaware of what was going on.

Patches was trying to catch her breath at the top of the slide after exhausting herself from running and climbing her way back up to the top as fast as she could repeatedly. Noticing Gary enter the room she smiles and waves, oblivious to the confused look on his face. “Hey again Gary! Your slide is fun!” She watches as he approaches and listens to his question. “Huh…? Am I sure about Totodile?” Now she’s the one who's confused as she stands there going over the events that have gone down since she got here.

“I found him in your fountain and he seemed really happy. I’m definitely sure of that… Then I remembered you had this amazing slide…” She is still a bit lost until she finally lays her eyes on the pokeball in Gary’s hand. “Oh, that’s right! I said you should keep him, didn’t I? Hmm…” Now that she’s finally taking the time to think this over she slides down to ground level again so that she could walk back over to the fountain. Once she enters the room she sees Totodile happily splashing about in the fountain having a great time. “After seeing how happy Totodile is to be here, yes I’m very sure. He hasn’t had much of an opportunity to be outside of his pokeball since I got him and I have been feeling really guilty about that. He even broke out of his pokeball just to stay here so I think this is where he wants to be. I’m going to miss him but I also want him to be happy.” After taking the time to make that little speech she takes off back to the slide once again.

Mio, who was in the kitchen, watched as all of the other Pokemon enjoyed their meals and felt a bit jealous since she was quite hungry herself. She knew that it would be rude to take someone else’s food so instead, she decides to just pretend she’s fine and silently sits down to enjoy the company of the others. That’s when her stomach grumbles so loudly that there’s no way the others didn’t hear it.

As Patches began to ramble on about his slide, she then remembered Gary’s question and walked back into the aquarium room. The two of them approached the fountain, where the Totodile continued to swim around happily. He listened to Patches as she spoke of how little she was able to use Totodile in the past and how she saw how happy he looked here in Gary’s base. “Wow,” Gary replied, nearly at a loss of words of Patches’ selfless act. “Well if that’s your wish, I would be honored to give him a home here.”

Gary bent over and slowly pulled Totodile out of the fountain to hold him in his arms. He cared little about getting wet as he was already wearing a dry suit in anticipation of diving in the aquarium before Patches’ arrival. “What do you say, little guy?” he asked, looking down at the Totodile in his arms, “Would you like to live here with all these Pokemon? I promise to take you along on adventures as well.” The Totodile looked up at Gary with big eyes and a bigger toothy grin. “Tot!” he exclaimed with a happy wiggle. “I guess it’s settled then!” Gary added, grinning back. “I think I’ll call you Wani! Patches, I really appreciate this. And feel free to come visit him any time, okay?” Gary turned to face Patches, but she had already run off to go back on the slide once again. On one hand, he was beginning to grasp what kind of person his new friend was, but on the other, he knew in the back of his mind that he would never be able to fully figure out what goes through her head.

Hearing the grumble of the Pikachu’s stomach, Amph’s maternal instincts kicked in as she stepped back from her food. She gave Mio a warm smile before quickly walking over to the cupboard where Gary kept some food. She pulled out a bowl and filled it with a few apples before grabbing a bottle of honey and drizzled it over them. She then carried the bowl over to Mio and set it down in front of her with a sheepish grin on her face. She then brought her own food bowl over, and as she did, Espy, Buru, and Lynxa did the same, forming a circle. Not wanting to leave the Pikachu out, each of them took turns introducing themselves before going back to eating their food.

Lapras The Base at the Waterfall! Beware the Song of the Gentle Predator!

It was fascinating for Hyrem to watch his Lapras on the hunt, even more so as he was riding her back. Her head would submerge underwater, a Sing attack would be used that could only be heard below the surface, and a fish she had targeted would be lulled into a deep sleep and float to the top, easy for her to gently scoop into her mouth and send down her long throat with minimal resistance from her meal. "Wow, you're getting pretty good at that, Nami!" he said to the Pokemon ferrying him up the river to the waterfall ahead of them, who squealed happily at the compliment.

As they approached the base of the waterfall, Hyrem looked to the right of it to see a wooden house atop a big tree, apparently a popular design for quite a few trainers' secret bases as he had seen Keith, Marion, and Tate all use various trees for their bases. "Wonder who lives there?" Hyrem asked aloud to himself. "Nami, can you let me off here? I want to go check out that house up there," he asked the Lapras. With a nod, she then veered to the right, allowing her trainer to hop off of her and onto the embankment with ease. A short walk to the base of the tree, followed by a climb up the vine ladder, led him straight to what was likely the front door, which he would knock five times. "Hello? Is anyone home?" he asked, wondering who might reside in this area of Cloud Garden.

Gary stood over his fountain in the aquarium room as he gazed down at his new Totodile, Wani. The small blue crocodile was happily swimming around in the shallow pool of water, swishing his tail back and forth. It wasn’t until after a few minutes of observing Wani that Gary realized he had been distracted from his main objective all along; to dive into the aquarium tank and check on Pickle as well as introduce Leviathan to the other fish Pokemon.

“I’m so sorry guys, I got distracted with visitors and our new buddy here, Wani,” he apologized as he smacked his forehead and turned to face the fish tank. “I’ll be right there in a minute.” As Gary walked over to a cabinet next to the tank, he pulled out a pair of goggles and a re-breather, which would allow him to freely breathe underwater without having to lug around a heavy oxygen tank. While Gary pulled out the equipment, he heard another series of knocks at the front door. “Holy… Lots of visitors today, huh? Don’t worry guys, I’ll be right back!” As Gary scurried off to go answer the door, Devine the Kingdra slowly rolled her eyes.

Jogging up to the front door, Gary quickly caught his breath as he opened it to see who it could be. Opening the door, he found himself face to face with a teenage boy. “Oh, hi there. Welcome!” Gary greeted him with a smile. While under normal circumstances it would be unusual to find a stranger on your doorstep, in the Pokemon world such courtesies were much more lax. In fact, it was often commonplace to welcome travelers to your home as the crime rate was much lower and a home filled with Pokemon would be able to defend itself with ease.

On top of that, Gary had built his base with the intention of having it double as an observatory and conservation center in order to give travelers a place to rest with a view of the Cloud Garden. Gary held the door open to allow the guest inside. “Come on in! My name’s Gary, nice to meet you.”

Oh hey, someone was home! Specifically, a guy in his late 20's who had messy, brown hair, a blue vest, a black shirt, white shorts, and blue shoes who introduced himself as Gary. "Nice to meet you too, my name's Hyrem." As he was about to enter he stopped himself. "Oh wait," he said before walking over to the wooden railing to recall Nami into her Ice Ball then headed back to Gary and stepping through the doorway. "I just wanted to make sure my Lapras wasn't all alone out there. She's how I got here!"

Upon the mention of a Lapras, Gary’s eyes lit up and his jaw dropped. “Oh my god, you have a Lapras?!” he exclaimed excitedly. He flung himself onto the railing to sneak a peek of the Pokemon, but it was too late as she had already been recalled into her ball. Gary sighed and let out an embarrassed grin over the scene he just made. “I’ve always wanted one but I’m sure you know how rare they are. Must be nice having one!”

Letting out a chuckle, Gary showed Hyrem inside of his base. As they walked to the entry hallway, there were two large rooms at the end where the hallway forked. There was a large kitchen and living room to the right, and to the left was what is known as the aquarium room. It was a large expansive room with a big fountain in the middle for Pokemon to soak in and along the back wall featured a gigantic fish tank that took up the length of the room. A few fish Pokemon were swimming around in it.

As they looked around the room, there was a small poke on the back of Hyrem’s leg. It was a Pawniard, who looked up at the guest curiously with a smile. “Oh, this is Akame, I just traded for her very recently.”

Gary seemed pretty excited at the idea of a Lapras, and it wasn't hard to see why. "Yeah, Nami's really great at carrying me on water, 'specially when I just want to relax and let her take me wherever she wants to be!"

As Hyrem was led inside, his eyes lit up when he saw what looked to be an aquarium to the left that seemed to take up the entire wall as well as a fountain in front of it. "Whoa, this is so huge!" he praised in awe. "And a fountain too! The fish tank I have barely fits my Eelektross, and he just uses it like a bathtub. (Good thing my base has a whole underwater cave system to swim around in.) No wonder you want a Lapras, watching one swim around in there would be great."

At that moment, a small poke at his leg brought him back to reality, and he turned to see a Pawniard whom Gary referred to as Akame. "Well hi there! Wait...Katarina? Is that you?" he asked, starting to recognize her as the Pawniard he traded away.

Gary grinned proudly as he observed Hyrem take in the aquarium room in awe. “Pretty nice, huh? I’ve spent a lot years researching water Pokemon, so it only makes sense to have a large enough space for all of my water Pokemon to live in! Your timing couldn’t be more perfect actually; I was just about to go for a dive in the tank so I could feed them and introduce a few of my new Pokemon I obtained recently.” Gary smiled and gestured to the dry suit and swimming trunks he was wearing. “You’re welcome to join, if you feel like diving in an aquarium that is!”

As Akame gave Hyrem a poke, the guest seemed to recognize her and call her by a different name. “Wait, are you serious?” Gary asked incredulously, letting out a laugh. “Did you use to have her? What a small world!” Akame looked up at Hyrem and smiled quietly while waving at her former trainer.

As Katarina, now named Akame, was happy to see her old trainer again, Hyrem answered her new trainer's question while rubbing the Pawniard's smooth helmet, knowing what to do to avoid her sharp blades: "Yeah, I got her as a hatchling from another trainer, but when PC slots were limited I had to let her go. Glad to see she's with you though!"

As Gary invited him to go swimming in the huge aquarium, he lit up with joy. "Oh yeah, just give me some time (and a room) to change into some swimwear, and I'm in! I bet my Water Pokemon will love it too!"

As Hyrem mentioned the old PC storage system of Fizzytopia, an outdated and obsolete program that limited the number of Pokemon each trainer could have on their team, thoughts began racing through Gary’s head of some of his own old companions that had to be relocated to another home, much like Akame had for Hyrem. The two in particular that Gary reminisced were his old Tauros and the other half of his Ninjask Shuri; her Shedinja sister. As he snapped out of his recollection, Gary hoped they were doing well wherever they were now. “Yeah, I know what you mean,” he responded with a sheepish smile. “Well, if you ever want to visit Akame, you know where to find her, and I’m sure she wouldn’t mind the visit either!” Akame nodded in agreement, adding in a “Pawn!”

Hyrem seemed excited at the prospect of diving in the aquarium and asked Gary for a place to change. “Oh, no problem at all, just use my bedroom to change.” He showed Hyrem down the hallway and directed him to his bedroom before returning to the aquarium room. There he readied the rebreather devices, a small invention that extracts oxygen from water molecules and allows the user to breathe underwater without relying on a heavy oxygen tank. Additionally, they weren’t restrictive and allowed the user to speak freely even with the device in their mouth. Once he was ready, Gary prepared a couple of buckets full of food to take with him into the tank in order to feed his Pokemon.

Jayson had been travelling up the river for most of the day, luckily for him the powerful Gyarados he rode was more than capable of a sustained effort. Jormungand was larger than most Gyarados, he was a fine specimen to behold. Jayson adjusted himself, the Gyarados's back wasn't the most comfortable thing to sit on but he was slowly getting used to it. He had arrived in the Cloud Garden that morning, immediately he decided to pay a visit to a friend he had made during his stint in Bedlam. The pair crossed paths in a dank old Tavern, 'The Drunken Druddigon'. They had both been worn out by the turmoil that gripped the city and a good drink and a good yarn was what they needed. Gary had told him of this place and its relaxed, beautiful setting. The man hadn't lied, this place was indeed spectacular and far from the dreary streets of Bedlam.

As Jormungand made his way up river, Jayson soon spotted the waterfall in the distance, a large oak tree next to it seemed to be converted into a base of sorts. Jormungand came to a stop as they reached the waterfall, Jayson wondered whether Gary was home. Jormungand let out a mighty roar, signalling their arrival. "Yo Gary!" Jayson shouted, hoping his friend would hear him, "it's Jayson, from Bedlam, you home mate?"

(So we don’t get our RP mixed up with my RP with GS, let’s use the color sienna lol)

It was a rather quiet day at the top of the Starline Waterfall in Gary’s base as the trainer/researcher was gathering things at his desk. One could tell by the speed at which Gary worked that he was a little rushed, and the reason behind that was due a certain golden Charizard named Ramoth. Supposedly it was right around breeding season for large reptiles, and she was no exception. Gary was in a bit of a bind, because despite having been Ramoth’s trainer for quite some time, this was her first breeding season and he was much more familiar with aquatic species of Pokemon, not giant flying dragons.

A loud roar suddenly snapped Gary out of his concentration, followed by a familiar voice calling out his name. He hurried to the door and opened it, peering outside to see who it could be. It was a tall man with an even larger Gyarados sticking his long body out of the river. He grinned and stepped outside to greet his guest with a handshake. “Oh, Jayson! Long time no see, how’ve you been? You must be here because of Ramoth, like we previously discussed right? Your timing couldn’t be more perfect actually. She’s actually not here at the moment. Wanna go with me to see her? She’s gone off to the Burnt Forest to let off a little steam.”

Gary’s eyes wandered toward Jormungand, who was quite the specimen of a Gyarados. “Man, he’s pretty big for a Gyarados,” he smiled, reaching out to rub the sea serpent’s nose. “One of the largest Gyarados I’ve ever seen for that matter.” Part of the reason why Gary had agreed to this arrangement was his desire to further study the Gyarados species. However, he had to tread lightly as it was a sore subject for some of his Pokemon, namely Kratos the Golduck. When Gary had first encountered him years ago as a Psyduck, he had saved Kratos from being eaten by a Gyarados.

“Why don’t we head over there?” Gary suggested, gesturing to the east. The trees in the area were still all healthy and green, but not too far off was the desolate environment otherwise known as the Burnt Forest. “Hey Rena! Wanna go for a walk?” Gary called out to his base, and moments later, a large Stantler appeared in the doorway and effortlessly leapt from the platform down to the ground level. Gary smiled and pet her on the nose as he straightened her bridle. Rena was much larger than the average deer, coming up closer to the size of an elk, which allowed Gary to ride on her with no weight issues. The Stantler kneeled her front two legs so that Gary could get on. As she stood back up, Gary gripped the reins for support.

Jayson wasn't sure if Gary would remember what they discussed in the tavern but it didn't take long for his friend to mention the subject of his visit. He had always had a fondness for Charizards, in fact his first Pokemon back in the Kanto region was a Charmander. It had eventually evolved into a Charizard but he left it behind once he moved onto the Johto region, he had no idea what his old friend was up to now. He had crossed paths with many since then, although Gary had promised that his Ramoth was unique, Jayson was eager to see why.

"Sure thing, let's go pay her a visit shall we?" As Gary calls forth and mounts a large Stantler, Jayson gives Jormungand a tap with his boot. The Gyarados suddenly surges out of the water and up onto land. He wouldn't be the fastest on land but Jormungand's size and strength made him more than capable of carrying him across land as well as water. "Lead the way Gary, we better not keep Ramoth waiting."

Gary grinned as Jayson mounted his giant Gyarados and watched them slither onto land. Despite being a fish, Gyarados was quite large and had a serpentine body, so it wasn’t unheard of for one to move on land. “Alright, follow me then!” he called out while giving Rena a pat on the shoulder. The Stantler began trotting forward as Gary held the reins tight. “Not too fast, okay?” Gary asked his Pokemon, knowing she would be disappointed that she wouldn’t be able to run through the forest at full speed.

As they traversed the forest, the scent of smoldering embers eventually began to permeate the air. Gary steered Rena down a path that had its twists and turns, choosing to go down the widest path for Jormungand to fit through as opposed to the straight and narrow shortcut. Eventually the two trainers arrived at a break in the trees, where the forest suddenly appeared to turn lifeless. Many of the trees were barren and stained a charcoal color. The remaining trees that contained leaves were scattered out, and they were almost permanently a withered yellow to red assortment of autumnal colors. There was a staleness in the air here in this forest that seemed to cause the temperature to raise considerably.

“It shouldn’t be too much farther!” Gary called out to Jayson, pulling on Rena’s reins and steering her up a trail that began to incline up the mountain. There were a few boulders and rocks to get around, which Rena did with ease. Soon enough, they arrived at a massive clearing about the length of a football field in diameter, with a wall of trees around the circumference except for one stretch of mountainside that featured a large cave opening. Everything inside the clearing was barren and burnt to a crisp.

“Ramoth! I brought a visitor!” Gary called out before dismounting Rena. The Stantler slowly made her way back to the edge of the forest in search of some still living brush to feed on. A faint light began to emit from the interior of the cave before a pillar of flames erupted. An annoyed roar hissed afterward, echoing off the walls of the cave before a spectacular figure emerged. As the sunlight bounced off of the Charizard’s golden scales, she seemed to emit a radiance like some kind of heavenly being. The flame on the dragon’s tail burned exceptionally bright for her species. She stretched her wings as wide as she could, but slowly sauntered forward on all four legs. Craning her long neck back, she stared down at the two trainers, refusing to acknowledge the Gyarados at first.

Gary stepped forward first and held out a hand as Ramoth leaned her head lower and allowed her trainer to rub her on the nose. “How are you doing, girl?” Gary cooed, smiling at Ramoth. Her angry expression softened, enjoying her trainer’s affection. “Well, this is Ramoth. She’s a bit headstrong, but I hope you can get along with her,” Gary chuckled.

Gary lead them through the Cloud Garden towards their destination, the Burnt Forest. The name was certainly fitting, the section of forest was all but burnt to a crisp, the trees were burnt black, the ground was left barren. Gary lead them through the forest, eventually they came to a large clearing with a cave set into the mountainside. As he let his Stantler run off to find some food, Gary called out for his Pokemon. A torrent of flame soon erupted from inside the cave, the Charizard was definitely here. The fire was followed by a roar and soon after a glisten golden Charizard emerged. Jayson was left awe struck, she was beautiful. As Gary made his way over towards the Charizard, Jayson dismounted, unsure of how Jormungand was going to react.

As he stared up at the Gyarados, he noticed it was quite on edge. Jormungand coiled his lower body up like a snake, while his upper body rose up, standing almost perfectly straight. His nostrils were flared, as if he was picking up a strange scent. His eyes were locked on Ramoth, his mouth was clamped shut. Suddenly the Gyarados let out a deafening roar, Jayson stumbled backwards as he covered his ears. It was impossible to tell how the two would react to each other, Jayson looked over to Gary, "perhaps we should give them some space?"

Gary was keeping a careful eye on the Charizard and the Gyarados, to see how they reacted to each other’s presence. Ramoth seemed pretty docile as he pet her while Jormungand coiled up silent and hesitant. As Jormungand broke the silence and let out a deafening roar, Jayson suggested they give the two Pokemon some space. Gary took off running, heading back closer to the edge of the clearing. “I don’t think we have a choice! Get back!” he called out, panting.

The Charizard’s pupils narrowed as Ramoth turned to stare at Jormungand. She let out her own roar in response and flapped her giant wings. Gaining altitude, Ramoth hovered a few meters off the ground and blew forth a warning Flamethrower the charred the ground in front of Jormungand. She then began to flip and turn in the air, flying around in a horizontal figure-eight. Her Dragon Dance had a rhythmic yet seductive quality to it with a hint of danger, as she prepared to stand her ground to this newcomer.

As the two of them moved to a safe distance, Jayson watched as the two Pokemon sized each other up. Jormungand stood his ground, trying to look as Intimidating as possible as the Charizard danced through the air. He began to let out a low rumbling growl, it was more seductive than aggressive but the purpose was still the same. The Gyarados was clearly trying to get the Charizards attention. As the Charizard continued to fly its figure eight in the sky, Jormungand began to mimic the shape on the ground. The Gyarados heavy body began to carve a path in the ground as he followed the Charizard's movements, continuing his deep growl as he goes.

Jayson hadn't witnessed anything like this before and he doubted Gary had either. What the two would do next was a mystery to both of them, but at least at the moment the two weren't trying to tear each other apart.

Ramoth watched intently as Jormungand began mimicking her movements as she danced in the air. She smirked at his attempt and reverted back to hovering in place above the ground while her massive wings beat back and forth. Her wings began to beat faster and faster as she fanned the flames of a Heat Wave that filled the area. She looked at him quizzically to see if he could handle the heat. If not, their business here would be over.

“Ramoth is a very proud dragon queen,” Gary noted, watching the display from afar with Jayson, “I think she’s trying to test him to see how tough he is. I doubt she’s going to submit without any proof.”

Jormungand endured the Heatwave without flinching, it wasn't just that he resisted the attack, he wasn't going to show any signs of weakness. Jayson watches closely, eager to see how the Gyarados would respond. He didn't have to wait long, as Ramoth flew overhead he lunged upward, Biting down on the Charizard's leg as he plucked her from the sky. With a toss of his powerful head he brought her down to the ground, letting go of her as she hit the soft earth. Jormungand then coiled himself up bringing his head down to meet the Charizard's eye level.

Upon having her leg bitten and pulled back down to earth, Ramoth defiantly let out an angry roar. In her mind, she was outraged that Jormungand dare touch her without her permission. She stomped the ground and took a deep breath before blowing forth a stream of bluish-green flames at the Gyarados, hitting him with a Dragon Breath. She followed up the attack with a Dragon Rage, the blue-green flames turning dark red in a beautiful display. Finishing off her routine, Ramoth peppered Jormungand with a series of Embers.

“If I didn’t know better, I would think that she’s not taking him seriously,” Gary mused, watching everything unfold. “She’s just showing off right now… probably waiting for him to take the lead,” he added.
