Both Melittin and Lalu protested about what Vermillion had said, Lalu stating that she had created the chocolate sculpture for Melittin to eat.
Melittin backed the Mantle pokemon by showing the Blitzle and Torkoal, stating that it was him standing triumphantly over a defeated Steelix.

Lalu went on to scold the Torkoal, saying that it was rude to try and eat others food just because they weren't eating it, and demanded Vermillion to apologize to Melittin.

''I don't apologize to thieves, now give my food back!'' Vermillion yelled.
''No need to get upset Vermillion, I've got this'' Hayai reassured the Coal pokemon.
''As an excellent problem solver, I will fix this so everyone's happy!''

''Since you both seem to want this sculpture, and I can't tell who's it really is, I guess I have no choice but to get rid of it!'' The Blitzle exclaimed before turning to Melittin.

''I know you want the chocolate, but we don't want anyone's feelings hurt, so can you please give the sculpture to me?''

Meanwhile Strychnine, told Botch that she had no idea that he was afraid of Muk, almost sounding apologetic.

''It's ok y-you didn't know'' Botch stammered.
Strychnine then asked the Grimer why he was afraid of Muk, while at the same type using minimize to make Botch feel a bit more comfortable.

However despite her efforts, minimize didn't help Botch at all.
''I d-don't know why to b-be honest, I j-just do'' Botch stammered.

Suddenly, Botch began to feel dizzy.
''I don't feel s-so good'' The Grimer stammered before collapsing on the floor.

Cyanide used psychic to pull the lever, opening up the door, and letting the nice, cool air inside. The Umbreon then stated for the group to move out, before turning to the snow hat pokemon, telling him to lead the way.
''Alright, this way everyone!'' Willbert declared before marching outside making sure everyone followed.

Kieth reassured Jake that Willbert was going to be fine, stating that Gemini and Nagini were his most powerful pokemon, and that when Cyanide set her heart to something, she couldn't be stopped.

''I guess you're, right, Willbert will probably be fine, but I can't help but worry anyway.''
Jake said before looking at Willbert, who just started to march out the door.

''Hurry back as soon as possible, I don't know what you'll be up against, but try your best!'' Jake thought to himself.

Melittin was furious, for Vermillion outright refused to apologize, adamantly sticking to his blatant lie of a story, and calling him and Lalu thieves. The Beedrill had had enough at this point, and was just about ready to shut this Torkoal up with a Drill Run, when the Blitzle intervened, stating that he'd fix it so that everybody would be happy. Secretly, Melittin somewhat doubted this, for the only outcome to this that would satisfy him would be Vermillion being seen as the liar he was, and he, Melittin, getting to finish his chocolate, and he had a sneaking suspicion that Hayai was absolutely clueless about Vermillion being a liar. Sure enough, the Blitzle's solution was to get rid of the sculpture altogether so that neither of them could have it.

For a moment, Melittin was at a loss for words, looking at Hayai as though he thought the Blitzle to be crazy. This solution didn't make him happy at all! I mean, granted, there would at least be the comfort of knowing that Vermillion didn't get the chocolate, but still... Lalu had made it for him, after all, and that alone made him extremely reluctant to part with it. Then again, he reminded himself, Hayai was only trying to resolve the situation the best that he could, given that he didn't know the truth of the situation, so it really wouldn't be fair of him to try to start a problem with him...

As the two sides of the situation waged war in Melittin's mind, he looked down at the chocolate sculpture of himself. Sure, the likeness was iffy at best, but that didn't even matter to him- what mattered was that Lalu had worked hard to make it for him. Fine way to show his gratitude, just forking it over like that.

"I'm not handing my chocolate over," Melittin stated, keeping his voice as even as he could. "I get that you're trying to resolve this peacefully, I get it, and that's great, and if there really was a way to resolve this that would make everybody happy, I'd jump on it in an instant, but there is no way in hell I'm giving up anything Lalu made for me." As he said this, he resisted the urge to attack Vermillion, though only just barely- that Torkoal was really getting on his nerves!

Back in the living room, Botch stammered that it was OK, that Strychnine didn't know about his fear of Muk. To the Muk's dismay, however, her use of Minimize wasn't helping to comfort Botch in the slightest, and he stated that he had no idea why he was afraid of Muk. Before Strychnine could respond to this, the Grimer stammered that he didn't feel so good, and promptly collapsed on the floor.

"Botch!" Strychnine gasped. Quickly, she resumed her usual size, then scooped her boyfriend up in her arms, and oozed over to Jake, placing Botch at his feet. "I... He just... he just collapsed," Strychnine told him, sounding just as worried as she looked. "I... Jake, why is he afraid of Muk?" she asked. "Do you know?"

This, of course, did not escape Keith's notice. He approached the distraught Muk. "Strych, what's wrong?" he asked. With sludgy tears in her eyes, the Muk explained to Meowth about how Botch seemed to have a fear of Muk, at which point Meowth pulled a skeptical look.

"He's scared o' Muk?" repeated the Scratch Cat Pokémon. "But... ain't Muk just like Grimer, 'cept bigger and stronger? Dat just don't make no sense ta me."

"Oh, man, that's gotta suck," Keith sighed, as he knelt down to give Strychnine a comforting hug. Once he was done, he stood back up and started digging into his backpack. After a few seconds, he pulled out a small selection of berries- an Oran Berry, a couple of Sitrus Berries, and a Lum Berry. "Alright, whatever happened to Botch just now, these berries should help," Keith stated, handing them to Jake.

Meanwhile, Willbert led the way outside. Cyanide and Rubeus were right behind him, and bringing up the rear were Gemini and Nagini.

"OK," Cyanide stated, once they were outside. "Willbert, you lead the way to where they were stolen and we'll look for clues from there. Rubeus, Gemini, if we need to search from the sky, then you two-"

"Ahem," butted in Gemini's smaller head.

"-then you three will handle that," amended Cyanide through gritted teeth.

"Much better," nodded Gemini's smaller head.

"OK, enough of that nonsense," frowned Cyanide. "We need to get going, and as soon as possible! The longer we hang around here, the longer Pom and his teammates are in trouble. Let's go-"

"Excuse me," came a voice. Cyanide wheeled around, and spotted a small Weedle approaching them- the commotion the Umbreon had been making was sufficient to distract Hermione away from Pomona and Leviathan's battle, and now Hermione was approaching the group. "I couldn't help but overhear you just now, Cyanide. If it's alright, I'd like to come with you, to help in any way I can," offered Hermione.

Under normal circumstances, Cyanide would have scoffed, would have brushed her off, would have called into question her capability to help, wondering exactly what a Weedle could accomplish that nobody else present could. However, her beloved Pom was in trouble, and time was of the essence. In no mood to argue, Cyanide's only reply was a curt nod before she turned to Willbert, looking expectantly at the Snorunt, waiting for him to lead the way. Rubeus, meanwhile, kindly offered Hermione a ride, which she gladly accepted, crawling on top of the Stunfisk.

Back inside, Jake admitted that Keith was probably right, but went on to say that he couldn't help but worry in any case. Keith nodded understandingly. "Believe me, I know what you mean," he said. "In fact, if Gemini and Nagini hadn't been with me for as long as they have, I'd be much more worried myself. Gemini was my very first Pokémon, you know," Keith stated. "I was fourteen years old, I was still living in Lavaridge Town in Hoenn at the time. My parents were cool with me becoming a Trainer whenever I was ready, I just didn't know what I wanted my first Pokémon to be, y'know? I mean, I could've made the trip to Littleroot Town where I'd have gotten a choice between Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, but I wasn't even sure if I wanted any of them. Then, one day, I'm exploring the Fiery Path, this cave right near Lavaridge Town, when I hear this commotion. I go and look, and I see these two Machop, one of them's cheering on the other one, and the other one's beating up a baby Koffing. And then, just as I saw this happening, the Machop slammed the Koffing with Mega Kick, sent it flying, and it landed at my feet. The little guy was looking up at me, desperate for help. Well, see, for my birthday, I had received a Poké Ball, just in case I came across a Pokémon I wanted to start my journey with, so I tapped the Koffing with the ball, catching it, and then I ran like hell to the Lavaridge Town Pokémon Center." In the background, Peeves sweatdropped sheepishly at the mention of this story, having been the very Machop behind that attack when he was alive. Keith, not seeing this, continued. "I remember when I got to the Pokémon Center...

The Nurse Joy on duty recognized Keith, having seen him around town once or twice, but this was the first time Keith had entered the Pokémon Center in order to seek medical treatment for a Pokémon. Indeed, there was a badly battered Koffing lying in his arms, and at the sight of this, Nurse Joy came running over.

"Oh, my!" she exclaimed. "How could you let your Koffing get in such terrible condition?" she demanded of Keith, sounding more worried than angry.

"It's not like that, I found him like this!" Keith replied hastily. "There were these Machop beating up on him in the Fiery Path, I got him out of there as quick as I could, please, save him!"

Understanding the urgency of the situation, Nurse Joy said no more on the matter, nor on her initial misunderstanding, and took the Koffing from Keith. The center's Chansey rushed alongside Nurse Joy to assist her.

For what felt like forever, Keith sat in the Pokémon Center's waiting area. So worried was he that barely noticed anything else going on around him. Even when Ralph McPhione, possibly the cruelest, most arrogant, and smelliest person Keith had ever known, entered the Center, Keith made no effort to acknowledge him. This was just as well, as Ralph didn't even notice Keith, he was much more focused on getting a checkup for a Trapinch he had just caught in the nearby desert.

Finally, after hours passed, Nurse Joy approached Keith, and the look on her face was reassuring. "Koffing's going to be just fine," she smiled.

Keith exhaled, a weak smile stretching across his face. "That's a relief," he replied.

"Now, Koffing's healthy enough to return to the wild," continued Nurse Joy, "but to be on the safe side, I would recommend that you keep Koffing with you for a week."

Keith nodded. "Not a problem," he responded.

At that moment, the Koffing floated up alongside Nurse Joy, now smiling and looking much happier than when Keith had first encountered him. "Koffing, Koffing!" he exclaimed happily, floating in circles around Keith.

Keith gave a small, relieved laugh. "Hey, Koffing," he smiled. "Glad to see you're all right. Come on, you're going to be staying with me for a while, OK?"

Koffing nodded. "Koffing!" he responded enthusiastically.

And so, for the next seven days, Koffing stayed with Keith. His parents had no objections to this, understanding that it was to ensure the Koffing's health and safety. It was one of the most fun weeks of Keith's life- he spent as much time as he possibly could with Koffing, whether he was playing games, or feeding him from the garbage (another reason his parents raised no objections to Koffing- he literally cost nothing to feed!), or even just talking to him about whatever was on his mind.

At last, the time came for Keith to let Koffing go back into the wild. Together, they approached the Lavaridge city limits, the entrance to the Fiery Path coming into view. "Well, this is it," sighed Keith. "Be careful out there, Koffing, OK? Try not to get on the bad side of any more Machop, hmm?"

"Koffing..." sighed Koffing, looking decidedly less happy than usual. He stared off at the entrance to the cave for a few minutes, though didn't actually move towards it. Keith patiently stood there, waiting, intent on watching Koffing leave until he was out of sight. And yet, even with the knowledge that this moment would come, it was not easy for Keith at all. He was not popular in school, ever since that incident when he was seven... He enjoyed spending time with Koffing more than most things, really. And now the time had come to let him go back into the wild... But then, he realized, Koffing didn't seem so keen on the idea, either. Sure, he had bonded with Keith over the past week, so of course the parting would be sad for both, but when Koffing looked off in the direction of the Fiery Path, it was not with anticipation or happiness at the thought of returning home. And then, slowly, almost reluctantly, Koffing started to move forward, and this movement spurred Keith into action.

"...Wait, Koffing," he said. "Come with me."

"Koff?" Koffing said, stopping abruptly and turning around to face Keith.

"Come with me," Keith repeated. He was holding out his hand, which contained the Poké Ball he had used to save Koffing from the Machop. "Koffing, I'm going to become a Pokémon Trainer, and I... I'd like it if you came with me as my very first Pokémon." He looked hopefully at Koffing, who was looking back at Keith, considering this offer.

For a few minutes, there was silence. Keith and Koffing were just looking at each other, maintaining eye contact the whole time... and then, slowly, Koffing's usual grin returned to him. "Koffing Koffing!" he exclaimed happily, floating in circles around Keith once again. Keith responded to this by pulling the Poison Gas Pokémon in close to him, hugging his very first Pokémon tightly.

"Let's go home, Koffing," smiled Keith. "And we gotta get plenty of sleep, because tomorrow, we're gonna head on down to Slateport and catch the first ferry to the Fizzytopia region! We'll meet all sorts of awesome Pokémon, make all kinds of new friends... I may even finally find my sister," he sighed. He knew better, of course, than to repeat that particular goal to his parents- the mere mention of his older sister was enough to drive his parents to tears- they had been forced to give her up for adoption, as their financial situation at the time wasn't anywhere near ideal. Keith couldn't even ask what her name was and get an answer, which was unfortunate for him, for all he could remember was that it started with an "H".

Shaking these thoughts out of his minds and allowing them to be replaced with thoughts of receiving his Pokédex and arriving in Fizzytopia, Keith walked back to his house, with Koffing happily floating by his side.
...Hard to believe that was almost ten years ago," Keith finished. "And thus far, I'd call my journey a success," he added. "Gemini and I met all sorts of awesome Pokémon, we made all kinds of new friends, and I even found my sister," he added, glancing over at Helena, who was still marveling at Fae's newly evolved form. "Oh, sorry, Jake," Keith added, chuckling sheepishly. "Kinda rambled on for a bit there."

No Satisfying Anime Description? ASB it is :D

Leviathan and Ponoma still stand outside, face to face, with only a few meters between them. The Gyarados is still panting from his massive energy use when a Sweet Scent of blooming flowers enters his nostrils. The scent relaxes his, the rage that once had a hold of him and got him to evolve in the first place is not completely subdued. His muscles start to relax and even the pain and noticeable effects of the poison seem to have stopped for the moment, even though the poison is no less present in his bloodstream. The Ivysaur's plan is thought through and is about to be executed to perfect precision.

As the relaxing air of scented flowers still surrounds Leviathan Ponoma begins charging up another Venoshock. The Gyarados however is oblivious to this fact as the Sweet Scent is affecting him to it's maximum effect. And then, when Leviathan breaths out and closes his eyes for just a moment, Ponoma sees her chance to launch her devastating attack. A stream of poisonous liquid is rapidly approaching the Gyarados, but by the time he realizes the attack is coming for him it is already too late. The liquid hits Leviathan right in his chest with full power. He screeches out in pain as the poison from the Venoshock interacts with the poison already present within him, doubling the damage he takes. All in all the attack, combined with the massive energy usage of before, proofs to be too much for Leviathan too take and the remaining poison finishes the job. Leviathan unleashes a final roar as he desperately tries to stay up, but ultimately he falls to the ground too tired and too hurt from the poison to continue the battle.

Back in the base Lalu is getting increasingly impatient with the Torkoal and Blitzle. The Torkoal refusal to apologize isn't helping either only angers her more, but she does manage to keep her cool if only for a moment as she listens to the Blitzle's proposal. Lalu stomps on the floor after hearing it and she almost literally turns red hot in anger. Melittin manages to reply to the proposal in a civil way and keep his cool, but Lalu is loosing it.

"Feelings hurt? FEELINGS HURT YOU SAY!" Lalu is as angry as a bull, shouting as loud as she can at the Torkoal and Blitzle, "You know who will get their feelings hurt! YOU WILL! I have had it with you two! You come here barging into MY home demanding I give up this food I made myself and hand it over so this LIAR can get his way?! HOW DARE YOU! GET OUT OF HERE! GET OUT BEFORE I BLOW YOU OUT!"

Lalu stomps on the floor even harder now, jumping up and down in anger, waiting for the two culprits to get out as she demonstratively summons two voodoo dolls that vaguely resemble a Torkoal and a Blitzle, several pins already hanging over their head ready to penetrate the dolls for a painful Voodoo Bugaloo.

Elsewhere in the base Fae is approached by Severus. He congratulates her with her evolution and asks is she wants to fly around outside with him. Fae responds with a blush.

"I would really like the Severus and I can use the practise too," she smiles, "Thank you for the offer to escort me."

And with that she follows Rowan through the open door and gestures the Dustox to follow her outside.

"Where do you want to go Severus? I will follow you."

Meanwhile in the Spirit World, Rose and Chuck are still engaged in a battle with Gluttony. The Dusclops once again Charges a Beam of electrical energy between his hands and sends it flying while Chuck sends a Shadow Punch towards Gluttony. The two attacks collide in mid-air and explode, making the crowd go wild, and creating a smokescreen between the two sides. Because of this screen however, Rose and Chuck are unable to see Gluttony glow up strangely as the Charge Beam successfully delivers its secondary effect of raising the users Special Attack.

At the same time Rose her eyes begin to glow and produces a series of blue rings that move towards the Beckon Pokémon. Gluttony hasn't set a step in the whole match besides moving himself into the ground so thankfully the smokescreen is of no hindrance to Rose her Disable and she manages to pin the Dusclops in place even more now rendering him unable to move at all. But with the screen interfering with the visibility Rose is now unsure where to where to aim her Toxic, she examines the smoke nervously, hoping for a sign of Gluttony the help her aim. Then, just as she thinks she knows where to aim at, two blue colored bolts of thunder come crashing down upon Rose and Chuck. Gluttony's strange glow from earlier in the match turns out to be a Future Sight. Both Rose and Chuck feel the full force of the hit as it came out of nowhere, surprising them, causing them both to cry out in pain.

But there isn't much time to recover from the hit, the smoke is fading away and Gluttony is slowly gaining his ability to move back. They have to strike and they have to do so quickly. Chuck reacts the quickest. His eyes start to glow pink and a pale purple hue is surrounding his entire body, then he releases multiple crimson rings of ghostly energy. The rings hit Gluttony and now it is his turn to cry out in pain as his body glows in a pale purple color because of the Night Shade.

Rose is next to move, once again trying to summon the poisonous powers within her to spit another stream of Toxic liquid at their opponent. Unfortunately the whole ordeal with the smoke, Future Sight and the recent attacks have taken too much time and Gluttony has almost fully regained his ability to move and thus he just that. He lifts one of his feet only a bit and stomps on the floor below him. Only a swift moment later four walls of Rock pop out of the ground creating a Tomb around him causing the Toxic to splash harmlessly against it while the Dusclops resides safely inside.

Rose and Chuck look at each other. One thing is certain. Gluttony is certainly going to great lengths to prevent being poisoned by toxic. And it will very likely succeed at that as Rose isn't sure anymore if she can summon enough poison energy to use Toxic again. She looks worried now, they need another strategy and soon too as the Rock Tomb starts to crumble down. Gluttony effectively uses Rock Smash upon Rock Smash to destroy the tomb he build himself. But as the opening is there, the two lovers do not see the Ghost-type they are facing. Instead they are met with an ice cold Blizzard, and a powerful one at that due to the Special Attack boost. Rose is having it difficult, the cold is getting to her hard, she tries to set up another Safeguard but the winds from the Blizzard are too strong to keep it up and she collapses on the field, too cold to be able to go anything at this point. She realizes these battles will take a long time if they continue to go on this way. Doing enough damage to knock them out seems almost impossible with this monster. They need to find another way fast, a way to tire him out instead of knocking him out by force. Keeping them healty and fresh is something she can do perfectly well, but offensive Rose knows she is of no use. Now if only she knew a way to drain Gluttony's energy. Or could Chuck?

Pomona's strategy worked to perfection- Sweet Scent distracted Leviathan from dodging, and Venoshock reacted with the poison in the Gyarados's system for twice the damage. When it was all said and done, the Gyarados fell to the ground, unable to continue the battle.

Pleased though Pomona was with her victory, she raced over to some nearby trees, and picked berries from them with her Vine Whip. Mostly Sitrus Berries, though she had taken a couple of Pecha and Leppa Berries as well. Once she was satisfied with what she picked, she walked over to the defeated Gyarados and set the pile of fruit down before him. "Here, these'll help you feel better," she said. "That was an awesome battle, by the way," she added, grinning out of happiness for her friend. "You really got a lot stronger, Leviathan!"

In the kitchen, surprisingly, Melittin was the one who was able to keep his cool, even if only barely. Indeed, the knowledge that the Blitzle couldn't have known the whole story and was merely trying to help based on what little he could possible know of the situation was literally the only reason Melittin was able to hold himself back from... well, from reacting like Lalu was doing right now. Melittin glanced at Lalu, and looked visibly impressed by just how infuriated she was at that moment. Of course, Melittin had known from day one that Lalu was anything but a pushover, but that didn't mean he couldn't still be impressed whenever he saw a visual reminder of this fact. The Beedrill then turned back to Vermillion and Hayai, bit off another piece of chocolate, eating it right before their eyes, and then spoke up.

"I would do as she says," Melittin advised them. "The first thing I learned about Lalu is that you do not want to get on her bad side." He still managed to keep his cool, but his patience was reaching its end. If they didn't get the hint and leave, the Beedrill would be more than glad to help Lalu drive them away.

Elsewhere, Fae gladly accepted Severus's offer to fly around with him, in order to help her get used to her wings and to see the scenery. The Beautifly led the way over to the door (which was currently open as Rowan was taking his leave for the time being), and asked Severus where he wanted to go, stating that she would follow him. The Dustox had to think about this for a bit once they were outside- this was not an area he was especially familiar with, after all.

"Hmm... Well, I hear the lake nearby is supposed to be beautiful," he replied with a smile. "What say we head over that way to start with?" he suggested.

Meanwhile, over in the Spirit World, the battle raged on. Chuck's Shadow Punch and Gluttony's Charge Beam collided in midair, throwing up a cloud of dust which obscured the Dusclops from Chuck and Rose's view. Unfortunately, this meant that they were unable to notice that Charge Beam's secondary effect had kicked in, raising the Dusclops's Special Attack. That said, Chuck knew that Charge Beam had an extremely favorable chance of said side effect kicking in (or unfavorable, depending on which end of the move you happened to be on), and so, erring on the side of caution, decided on the spot to assume that it succeeded in raising their adversary's Special Attack.

Rose's eyes then started to glow as she unleashed her Disable attack, freezing the Dusclops in place. However, the cloud of dust was still persisting, and was beginning to interfere with visibility, which made Rose uncertain as to where to aim Toxic. Chuck smiled as she seemed to figure out the general direction in which to attack- just as two blasts of energy came out of nowhere, striking both the Haunter and the Ralts for massive damage.

"That's what that was!" gasped Chuck, the realization coming to him in an instant. "Future Sight! That's what that weird glow was! Peeves doesn't even know that move yet, no wonder I didn't think of that..."

But there was no time to dwell on that! The smokescreen that collision of attacks had caused was finally clearing up, and they could see that Gluttony was starting to regain mobility. The time to act was now, and Rose didn't need to be reminded of that! Swiftly, she unleashed Toxic, but alas, too late- between the smokescreen and the Future Sight attack, Gluttony had managed to, by sheer luck, wait out the entire duration of the Disable, and he was able to move again. He didn't move much, but he didn't need to- he lifted up one of his legs, then slammed it back down on the ground, causing a Rock Tomb to form around him, acting as a protective barrier against which the Toxic splashed harmlessly.

Chuck and Rose exchanged looks. Gluttony was no fool, Chuck could tell. He was going to great lengths to avoid the Toxic attacks, and was wise to do so, too- his battle style was clearly to draw things out as long as possible, to stall his opponents into submission by wearing down their energy by way of Pressure, and him being badly poisoned would screw over that strategy royally. What was worse, as Chuck looked at Rose, he could see that she was looking a little tired from repeated use of Toxic. Did she have enough Poison energy left to muster another one? Chuck couldn't be sure, but he was leaning towards "no".

And then, the sound of crumbling rock snapped Chuck back to reality- the Rock Tomb was falling, Gluttony was breaking his way out with Rock Smash! However, neither of them could see Gluttony once there was a sufficient opening in the rock. In fact, all they could see was a howling snowstorm coming right their way! It was Gluttony's Blizzard, and as the impromptu instance of inclement weather pelted Chuck, he had a feeling that he was quite right to assume that Charge Beam's side effect had kicked in. Despite the cold, he was able to turn to look at Rose, and it was clear that the snow was affecting her badly- she tried to get up a Safeguard, but failed miserably. She collapsed on the field, too cold to do much else, and upon seeing this, Chuck slowly turned to look at Gluttony, renewed anger gleaming in his eyes. Now he was pissed, now he would make that Dusclops pay for hurting Rose like this!

Chuck was all set to use both hands to unleash a dual Shadow Punch, but stopped himself- attack after attack he had fired off, and just where had it gotten them? Rose was ready to collapse, Chuck wasn't faring too much better, and Gluttony still looked ready for action. He was built for taking hits, Chuck knew, so continuing to attack head on would only be playing right into his strategy... no, he needed to do something else... something Gluttony probably wouldn't expect from them... he needed to beat this Dusclops at his own game, and as he felt the anger welling up within him, Chuck realized he knew just what move to use now. Focusing hard, he channeled the anger within him, allowed it to fuel the move he was all set to unleash, a unique move designed to do just what Gluttony's Ability was designed to do, the technique that just might help them overcome this dastardly Dusclops- the Spite attack. And as he did this, he drifted ever so slightly in the air until he was floating directly between Rose and Gluttony. Just in case the Dusclops felt like hitting her with another attack while she was down, because he would have none of that.

"Thanks Ponoma," Leviathan replies to his friend while he happily takes a bite from the berries she gave him, "I do lack battling experience though. You're good at this, way better than me." The Gyarados genuinely is impressed at the technique and skill the Ivysaur showed in battle and realizes he still has a lot to learn himself. If the battle with Ponoma showed him one thing it's that a battle is more than just blasting aways with the most powerful attacks you have in your arsenal. But now, now Leviathan is tired, and he is looking for a rest.

"Think it's time to go back to base Ponoma, I need a rest."

Elsewhere though, a Beautifly and a Dustox were flying their way.

"I think the lake will be a nice and beautiful place with lots of flowers," Fae giggles, "a beautiful background with mountains and maybe a waterfall too and lily pads in the clear and calm water, maybe a Surskit skating over the water like a beautiful dancer." Fae's mind is full of wonder as she herself has never been to the lake before either. And her being quite a girly girl makes her mind wander off to a fantasy land fit for a fairy tale, "Maybe there are other butterflies too, of maybe even Fairies! What do you think it will look like Severus? Do you think there can be Fairies? I heard there is evidence of Fairies existing now. I'm so excited about that. I want to meet the little Fairies. I think they will look really cute and beautiful, like tiny little angles with tender and sparkling wings."

Fae just keeps on talking as she and Severus continue their way towards the lake. But as the approach it, it isn't flowers and fairies they see first. It's a giant water snake. Fae can hear the snakes voice too, along with another voice she has heard before.

"Leviathan!" she yells happily as she hears the former Magikarp's name and she flies off towards him, "What happened with you, you look so different now."

Leviathan however looks behind him and sees two for him unfamiliar Pokémon approaching and instinctively ups his guard.

Meanwhile in the Spirit World, Rose and Chuck are still fighting the Dusclops Gluttony. Rose still lays on the ground, tired, cold and hurt from the onslaught of attacks and especially the Blizzard. Chuck however is still floating in the air and positions himself between Gluttony and his girlfriend, preparing himself to take any hits his adversary may want to direct at the one he loves. Chuck however, isn't only planning on taking hits, he concentrates and stares at the Dusclops, he mumbles something that Rose cannot really hear nor understand Spiting Gluttony. And just as he has done so Gluttony steps out of his Rock Tomb. He looks angered and for the first time in this battle Gluttony looks like he really wants to do something. And doing something he does. He raises his hands and his eye glows bright red. Blue lines swiftly appear from below him and outline the entire field as well as shooting up to the ceiling of the arena before creating blue, transparent walls of energy.

Rose meanwhile got up in the time that Gluttony took to build this Room, however, she can immediately feel they are being Tricked. While she still isn't fully fit, something makes her feel slow and sluggish way more than she should. Her feelings say it has to be this room Gluttony created, and that is quickly confirmed. The previously slow Dusclops now rushes towards the two of them with tremendous speed, a speed he should not normally have, ready to deliver a painful Shadow Punch. Chuck sees the move coming but he too in under the influence of the Trick Room and cannot avoid the hit in time and ends up being struck by the super effective blow, knocking him to the ground. Gluttony now circles the two, looking on at what they do, giving Rose a window to be the cleric she wants to be. She charges a pink ball of energy between her hands and as gets close to Chuck, she then opens her hands causing the orb of energy to break into dozens of tiny pink sparkles that give of relaxing Pulses of energy which Heal the Haunter.

But Rose and Chuck still have a problem to face, Gluttony isn't done just yet and is now repeatedly firing off dark thunderbolts of energy towards the two lovers while he continous the circle them at high speeds. While these Night Shades don't deal too much damage to Rose, they do hurt Chuck a lot more and Rose quickly sets up another Safeguard, protecting herself and Chuck from all outside influences. But Rose knows she cannot keep this up forever, they must find a way to take out Gluttony fast before they loose their lives.

Leviathan started on the berries Pomona had gotten him, and thanked her for them, remarking that he still lacked battle experience while complimenting Pomona on how good she was at battling. "Heh, thanks," Pomona smiled modestly. "Well, you're doing pretty good so far yourself," she added. "I agree more practice is a good idea, but you're off to a decent start."

Meanwhile, as the Beautifly and Dustox were flying towards the lake, Fae was fantasizing about what the lake might be like, even wondering if there would be fairies to be seen. The idea got Severus thinking, and he recalled something Chuck had mentioned to him- a newly-discovered type of Pokémon. Thus far, word of this discovery had yet to leave the far-off Kalos region, but the general consensus was that there was a type of Pokémon known as Fairy. She asked Severus if he thought it was possible that there would be fairies at the lake, but kept on talking, engrossed in her fantasies. Severus said nothing at the moment, he found that he kinda liked how enthusiastic Fae was, and that he didn't want to interrupt her.

As they approached the lake, however, the first sight that greeted their eyes was a large sea serpent- a Gyarados! This Gyarados was talking with an Ivysaur, and the Ivysaur was familiar to Severus. "Hey, there's Pomona," he said. "The Ivysaur, she's one of my teammates." However, to Severus's mild surprise, the Gyarados turned out to be one of Fae's teammates, though from the sound of things, the last she saw him, he was still a Magikarp.

As the pair of flying insects flew down towards the Gyarados, however, the Water/Flying-type upped his guard, apparently unfamiliar with either of them. Severus wasn't that surprised- this was, for sure, the first time Leviathan would have seen Fae since she evolved.

"Hiiii!" Pomona called up. "Hi, Severus! Leviathan, it's OK, that Dustox is one of my friends, his name's Severus. Severus, who's your friend?" she asked.

"Hi, Pomona," the Dustox replied. "This is Fae, she's one of Rowan's Pokémon, she just recently evolved from Silcoon."

"Ohh, wow, congratulations!" smiled Pomona as she faced the Beautifly. "And Severus, this is Leviathan, one of my friends, and he just evolved recently, too!"

"Good to meet you," Severus said to the Gyarados.

Meanwhile, in the Spirit World, the battle was taking a decidedly horrible turn. As Chuck used Spite, he seemed to be angering Gluttony. The Dusclops looked ready for real action for the first time, and to Chuck's horror, a room made of translucent blue walls materialized all around them.

"Oh, no..." Chuck murmured in horror. "It's Trick Room! Gluttony's much faster than us now!"

Before Chuck could even begin to try to evade it, Gluttony delivered a swift and powerful Shadow Punch, which caused some major damage to the Haunter. However, he was quickly healed up by Rose's Heal Pulse. Chuck gave Rose a grateful smile, but had no time to say anything- the Dusclops was now rapid-firing his Night Shade attack, Chuck taking more damage from it than Rose was. Hastily, the Ralts put up a Safeguard. Both she and Chuck were thinking the same thing- the Safeguard wouldn't hold forever. They needed to act, and act fast, or they'd lose on the very first battle! And with the stakes being what they were, they couldn't exactly afford to lose here!

But what could they do? Trick Room turned the tables on them- now Gluttony was the one able to attack hard and fast, and Chuck and Rose were the ones who couldn't move fast enough to evade attack... But then, Chuck suddenly realized, surely they could use that to their advantage in the same way Gluttony was looking to do initially? He knew that Rose had the Trace Ability, so since their adversary had Pressure, surely Rose had that Ability now, too? Chuck was ready to give Gluttony a taste of his own medicine. He prepared to use all the Spite he could use, prepared to drain Gluttony of his energy as fast as possible, and between that and the Pressure Rose would surely have copied from him at the start of the battle, not to mention all the attacks Gluttony was firing off now, it shouldn't take very long at all, the Haunter reasoned.

As Willbert and the rest of the group headed outside, the snowhat pokemon felt a wave of dread flow through him. Was everyone ok? Where were they now? Why were half of his teammates stolen?
So many questions unanswered. Willbert turned to the other pokemon, hoping for them to say something. Sure enough, Cyanide began discussing the plan and soon everyone was ready to head out.

''Alright, follow me everyone!'' Willbert exclaimed. But before he could even take a step, he heard a voice from behind. He turned around to find that a Weedle was approaching them.

"I couldn't help but overhear you just now, Cyanide. If it's alright, I'd like to come with you, to help in any way I can." The Weedle offered. Cyanide nodded before facing Willbert.

''Oh, umm yes sorry, this way!'' Willbert said before marching towards their destination.
Wilbert rested against a nearby tree. The walk had so far been long and unpleasant. For the most part, the path had been entirely uphill and unforgiving.

''We're right nearby, just, up this hill'' Willbert said, as he slowly got up and climbed the hill.

From the shrub, Willbert could make out the river he had fallen in and the small wood bridge above it. Willbert also saw many treea around the area.
Wait, there were three people by the bank! Willbert recognized one of them as the woman who attacked Jake earlier.

''Guys I found people, come look'' Willbert quietly called to the group.
Willbert looked back at the people.
They appeared to be inspecting the area, were they looking for something?

''Well, what do we do?''

Meanwhile in Rowan's base, the fight for the chocolate continued.
Though Hayai had came up with a solution no one agreed with it.
Melittin explained that he understood that Hayai was trying to resolve the issue peacefully, but that he wasn't handing the chocolate over.

''How about we spli..'' Hayai was cut off by Lalu who was furious at him and Vermilion.
The Roogenrola shouted at them, saying that their feelings were going to be hurt, and for them to get out before she blew them out.

''Not until I get my chocolate'' Vermilion demanded.
But Lalu wasn't done. She started stomping loudly before summoning two voodoo dolls, which vaguely looked like Hayai and Vermilion. Several pins dangled above the dolls heads, waiting to penetrate them.

"I would do as she says," Melittin added. "The first thing I learned about Lalu is that you do not want to get on her bad side."

''This is insane, please stop!'' Vermilion begged.
That was the last straw for Hayai.

''I have had enough of you two!'' Hayai yelled.
''I'm just trying to help, and you threaten me and Vermilion?! You are being bullies, and I will not stand for that!''

An electric aura started to surrounded Hayai and after a moment the Blitzle Wildly Charged at Lalu!

Vermilion watched for a moment before taking action. Vermilion stood there slowly building up energy. Fire started to form and soon Vermilion was ready.

Vermilion glared at Melittin with hatred before spewing an Eruption of fire towards him.

Strychnine gasped as her boyfriend collapsed on the floor. She quickly scooped him up and brought him to Jake.

Before Jake could ask what happened Strychnine explained that he had just collapsed.
''H-he just collapsed? '' Jake asked before picking up Botch. Strychnine then asked if Jake knew why Botch was afraid of Muk.
''I honestly don't know, he's never told me, or any of his teammates.'' Jake replied.

Keith then asked the Muk what was the matter, it was then that Jake noticed Strychnine was crying sludgy tears. Jake then turned his attention back to Botch, attempting to wake him.

After comforting Strychnine, Keith gave Jake an assortment of berries to help him aid Botch. ''Thank you'' Jake said before giving Botch a Sitrus berry. Jake watched as the Grimer started to stir. ''I think it's working, he's waking up.!''

Jake gently put Botch on the ground and soon the sludge pokemon was up and ready.

''W-what happened?'' Botch asked

''You collapsed suddenly, Strychnine was really upset.'' Jake explained.
''Who?'' Botch asked.
''Your girlfriend''
''Captain Botch doesn't have a girlfriend, he's to busy fighting crime!'' Botch exclaimed
Jake let out a sigh. ''Not this crap again''
''Hello citizens, I help fight crime for all of you to make your lives better!'' Botch continued
''Please stop Botch''
''It's nice to see so many people are concerned about me, my deeds are so marvelous everyone adores me.''
''Botch can you stop acting please, it's getting annoying''
''It's been nice meeting you all, but a heros job is never done, Captain Botch away!'' Botch exclaimed before oozing away.

Gemini/Mustard, Nagini, Cyanide, Rubeus, Hermione, Willbert: Once Hermione had joined their search party, the group of Pokémon set off, with Willbert leading the way to where his teammates had been stolen to begin with. Gemini, Mustard, Nagini, Rubeus, and Cyanide all followed him.

The journey started them out on an unforgiving uphill path, but it wasn't a hard trip for some of them- Gemini and Mustard, being a Weezing, could simply float up the hill, and Rubeus was skilled at using his side fins as wings. And Hermione, of course, was hitching a ride on Rubeus's head, which the Stunfisk didn't mind in the least, for Hermione, being a Weedle, was far from heavy- Stunfisk were built to withstand much more weight than this. Nagini and Cyanide were the only ones besides Willbert truly feeling the uphill nature of their path, but Nagini, well trained as she was, was able to handle it fairly well. Cyanide was finding the trek a bit trickier, but no way in hell did she so much as insinuate by any means that the climb was even starting to get to her. I'm coming, Pom, she thought to herself as she climbed.

At one point, the Snorunt had to stop and rest, which meant the others had to do so, too, because Willbert was the only one who knew where the hell they were going. Even Cyanide took the opportunity to rest, though extremely reluctantly. Tired though she was getting, rescuing Pom was the only thing on her mind. Finally, after what felt like hours to Cyanide, Willbert got back up and announced that they were almost there. He led them to a shrub, and the Snorunt peeked through it, after which he called for the rest of the group to come and look- he had found people.

The Arbok, Weezing, Stunfisk, Weedle, and Umbreon all looked- indeed, near the bank of a river, three people seemed to be inspecting the area, as though searching for something. As Cyanide looked at the trio, she inexplicably felt a stab of anger and rage, as though something was trying to tell her that those three were somehow involved in the attack on Jake, and more to the point, the kidnapping of Pom and some of his other teammates. She bared her sharp teeth, barely suppressing a growl.

"Hmm," Hermione murmured, taking note of Cyanide's reaction. "Those three may have some answers, but if they're in any position to have answers, I get the feeling they won't be giving them up freely. I have an idea, though," she continued in a whisper. "Willbert, you walk over to where they are and look around as though you're looking for someone. If they don't know anything, odds are they won't react. If they do know something and are trying to help rescue your teammates, they'll probably offer to help any way they can. And if they were involved in the attack and kidnapping, they may try to kidnap you, too. Now, just in case of that last one, Nagini, you Dig underground and wait nearby. Gemini, Mustard, warn her telepathically if things start going wrong. Nagini, if you get a telepathic signal to do so, you emerge from underground and subdue them any way you can- Wrap, Glare, whatever will get the job done and keep them alive and able to answer Gemini and Mustard's questions. That sound good to everyone?"

"It's certainly worth a shot," nodded Gemini.

"That could work," Mustard agreed.

"I say we do it," said Nagini.

"Willbert," Hermione continued, turning to face the Snorunt. "You OK with this plan? And don't worry- Nagini's one of the strongest Pokémon I've ever met. You're not in danger with her as backup, I'll tell you that right now."

Melittin, Lalu, Hayai, Vermillion: In response to Lalu's shouting, the Torkoal defiantly refused to leave without "his" chocolate. At this, Melittin snapped. "Oh my Arceus! My Trainer's friggin' Slowpoke isn't this dense! Get it through your thick skull already- IT'S! NOT! YOUR! CHOCOLAAAAATE!" he screamed, his patience having reached its end. He then took a huge bite out of the chocolate sculpture, chewed it, and swallowed it. And then, Hayai declared that he had had enough of Melittin and Lalu, reiterating that he had only been trying to help. "Yeah, your problem is you're trying to help the bully!" snapped the Beedrill. "I know you at least mean well, but that's way more than I can say for this- AAAAUGH!"

For at that moment, Melittin took Vermillion's Eruption attack at point-blank range. Thankfully, due to their earlier fighting, the gluttonous Torkoal wasn't at full health, meaning that his Eruption wasn't at full power, but still, it was a super effective blast at very close range, and so soon after the Beedrill's intense battle against Behemoth the Steelix, too. And then, as the Blitzle started up a Wild Charge attack, a slow, ominous movement from where Melittin had gone down would no doubt have caught everyone's attention (including Lalu's attention, considering she'd be able to hear it, too).

The Beedrill was slowly climbing to his feet, a harsh, green aura surrounding his entire body- Melittin's Swarm was in effect now, though it was obvious that the newfound power the Ability afforded him was being further fueled by his palpable fury, his fury at the injustice of the whole situation, his perpetually increasing hatred for Vermillion, and his irritation at how Hayai was so obtusely siding with the bully when all he was trying to do was help. Melittin opened his mouth wide and in one bite, finished off the chocolate sculpture, remembering even in his rage to chew it slowly and savor the taste. And then, as the Beedrill saw that the Blitzle was about to attack Lalu, he roared in protest and outrage. Spinning madly into a Swords Dance, Melittin took off, rising high into the air as he spun. Once he finished spinning, he dove down at Hayai, coming at him from in front, intent on stopping him from attacking Lalu. The harsh green aura relocated entirely to his two front stingers as they grew in length, looking viciously sharp and particularly deadly- Melittin was using a powerful Twineedle, and between his current state of unparalleled fury, the power boost from Swords Dance, and his Swarm Ability, woe betide anything on the receiving end of that fury.

Keith, Meowth, Strychnine, Jake, Botch: In the living room, Jake admitted to Strychnine that he had been unaware of Botch's fear of Muk, as were his teammates. "He didn't tell anybody?" Strychnine asked in disbelief.

Just then, however, Jake fed a Sitrus Berry to Botch, which did the trick, helping the Grimer to wake up. However, to Strychnine's horror, he seemed to have no recollection of ever having a girlfriend, or of even ever meeting Strychnine. Moreover, he seemed to think he was a superhero, and oozed away almost immediately.

"...What just happened?" the Muk asked weakly as she turned to face Jake. "Wha- How- Wha-"

"Meowth, what the hell happened just now?" Keith asked.

"Botch seems ta have amnesia," Meowth explained to Keith. "He don't seem ta remember knowin' Strychnine at all, or even havin' a girlfriend."

"Ouch," Keith said quietly. "Well, that's not good..."

"We have to do something!" the Muk declared. "We gotta help restore Botch's memory somehow!"

"Strychnine's sayin' she wants ta take action," Meowth translated.

"I'm with you there, Strych," Keith agreed. "Only question is, what? I mean, I've read that hitting someone lightly over the head will cure their amnesia, but... would that even work with a Grimer? They're more or less all sludge. Unless..." he murmured, taking a Poké Ball off his belt. "Unless Luna can help," he said quietly, looking at the ball. "Maybe use her psychic powers to fix whatever went wrong with Botch's mind just there." He then turned to Jake. "Of course, only if it's OK with you, Jake," he added. "Botch is your Grimer, it should be your decision."

"I tink we oughta do it," Meowth chimed in. "Before Botch starts tinkin' Keith's some kinda bad guy again like last time."

"Ooh, don't remind me," Keith shuddered.

Resurrection and a massive thank you for MM!

She had one again, a nightmare. Rose sits straight up in bed, her eyes wide open and a look of fear and distress on her face. Nightmares have been plaguing her ever since she and her boyfriend Chuck returned from that damned dimension, the Spirit World, they were sucked into. The battles, the pain, the suffering, it's something Rose will never forget. Not that she truly wants to forget it, as the whole ordeal, as far as she is concerned, brought her and Chuck closer together than they ever were. But she hasn't quite managed to give it a place either.

Not a night goes by without reliving at least one part of the living hell they went through. The only positive is that, somehow, they beat all their opponents. Usually through smarts, like how Chuck eventually got the better of the Dusclops Gluttony by Spiting him into submission and letting his own ability be his downfall by making smart use of Rose her Trace ability. If only the battle itself hadn't been so exhausting on their part. Or had they figured it all out a lot sooner. Thankfully Chuck was smart enough to realize every opponent they faced had a major weakness, though it took them another beating before they got it. Luckily they got ample time to recover between fights or else Rose most certainly wouldn't have made it past their second challenge, a Sableye named Greed.

It was another fight that haunts her nights frequently. Both Rose and Chuck could attack all they wanted, but the Sableye simply seemed to absorb all their attacks. They just couldn't get a dent in it. Especially Rose couldn't do a thing, while Chuck had some minor success with his attacks, Rose's attacks didn't do a thing, as if Greed was completely immune. And she was easy picking, having been at half strength already due to the fight with Gluttony, as she took lots of damage from every hit Chuck couldn't protect her from. Only when she was on her last legs, as a final desperate move to avert a certain death, Rose did something of which she now cannot remember how she did it. Out of nowhere, as if summoned by strange Voodoo Magic, a second doll-like Sableye appeared out of thin air, shiny rubies and emeralds included. At the mere sight of it Greed stopped with what it was doing and jumped onto the doll and didn't stop holding it and mumbled and hissed words like "Mine" and "My precious." The Sableye stopped fighting altogether and Chuck then took it out with a perfect strike from the back, knocking it out.

But even so, beating Greed was only the second battle they had to face, and a lot more were to come. Rose and Chuck were hardly recovered from beating Greed when their new opponent showed his sluggish face. A towering Golurk named Sloth. The enormous Pokémon was slow indeed when walking, but had surprising speed when flying, a feature Rose did not expect. It also prompted her to try out a move she hadn't used a lot, Icy Wind. She knew the cold had the potential to slow the creature down, and she hoped that would open up opportunities for Chuck to strike down at the giant in front of them. Chuck is good at fighting after all, while Rose is better suited for a support role. Her idea had success though, even more than she had thought at first. After a few tries the cold did slow Sloth down, to the point of it almost falling asleep. After that the Golurk became easy pickings for the superior speed of Chuck who drew all the attention towards him, giving Rose the time and space to help boosting his powers so the Haunter could defeat the Golurk, making this battle one of the easiest they had, and one that therefore leaves plenty of space for their next opponent to keep her from sleeping. A Banette named Envy.

While this Banette was eventually beat with not much of a battle in the end. Envy's words have left their scars in Rose her vulnerable psyche. Before even being announced Envy introduced herself with a deafening wail that Rose still hears in her nightmares up to this day. Envy though honored her name. She couldn't stand Rose and Chuck having a relationship and being as close as they are. And the Banette did everything in her power to make both Rose and Chuck doubt themselves and their relationship and love for each other. Manipulative as Envy was, and how naive Rose was, the Banette had it easy getting her words to stick in Rose her mind, even speaking with her through telepathy. Everything Envy said was a lie, Rose knew that, but still the Banette managed to make her doubt everything she believed, to make her feel scared, frightened, alone. The cold and pain she felt are burned into her memory. If not for Chuck Rose would still be trapped there, crying in a cold, dark corner of another dimension, completely alone and forgotten by all who love her. Her lover, being not nearly as susceptible to the manipulative tactics of the Banette saw through her tricks after some time and did everything he could to get Rose out of the hole Envy had dug her into.

At first Chuck tried fighting Envy, hoping that defeating her would end the spell she held over Rose, but Envy elegantly dodged most of his attacks and only tried to frustrate him and making up more lies in her attempt to separate the two love bird permanently. Eventually Chuck realized this wasn't a battle of power he was fighting, but a battle of will and most of all a battle of words. And so he tried to reason Rose back into reality, the true reality and not the one Envy tied to make her believe, the reality in which their bond, their love, is stronger than it ever was before. That however wasn't an easy task as Envy proved to be a powerful opponent even in that aspect. And when things finally seemed to go against her she started unleashing attacks of her own. If Envy could not get what she wanted, no one would, leaving Chuck with two tasks at the same time, convincing Rose that none of Envy's lies were real and dodging attacks from the Banette. Rose however was completely under Envy's spell, and it took extreme measures to get her out of it. Chuck figured that to proof Envy was only out to hurt her, he had to somehow have her attack Rose. He didn't like the thought of it at all, but knew he had no choice anymore at this point if they both were to survive and return back home to their trainers. And so, by smart use of deception and a well-timed Confuse Ray, Chuck managed to have Envy land an attack on Rose opening up a way for him to talk Rose out of the hole.

However, when Rose came back to her senses the fight was not over yet. The Banette had one final trick up her sleeve. Her eyes turned bright red as she mumbled words Rose could not understand as the whole of Envy's body started to glow. Rose remembers it all too well, as well as what happened next. Just a moment later Chuck started to glow too, if just for a moment, after which Envy started to laugh maniacally. It frightened Rose to no end, and still does. Then Envy produced a giant needle out of nowhere and said her last words "I take what is mine, in life, OR IN DEATH!" and drove the needle into her body. Envy perished right there and then, the sound of her maniacal echoing through the arena. Rose was glad it was finally over, but when she looked at Chuck, he laid down on the ground with a grayish, empty look on his face that immediately prompted Rose to fall down to ground crying. She shuffled over towards him silently praying for luck and put all her energy and healing powers into breathing life back into Chuck. Thinking back about it now Rose is amazed with how she handled herself in that situation, and how proud she felt afterwards when she fully realized what had happened and what she had done. But still, the fight with Envy was not their last.

The next opponent Rose and Chuck had to face was a kind of Pokémon neither of them had ever seen. They were introduced as Wrath. They, because two pair of angry looking eyes looked down upon them from a plaque on the arena wall. But then, as the plaque came of the wall, two swords unsheathed themselves and started to attack swiftly and with great precision. They were silent, but somehow still seemed to be able to communicate with each other as their attacked were coordinated to a tee. Wrath sent an onslaught of attacks towards Rose and Chuck at an unrelenting speed. The couple was left almost no time to react and defend against the assault, let alone return an attack. The two swords just didn't stop, likely fueled by an unknown source of anger Rose could feel from them. The continuous dodging and avoiding was tiresome and frustrating too as there was nothing they could do to stop it. Thankfully Chuck came up with an ingenious idea to turn the tide of the battle. He instructed Rose to set up a Safeguard like she did against Gluttony, to buy them some time and give them a window of opportunity once she pulled it down again for them both to unleash their best Confuse Ray against the swords.

This plan turned out to be a masterstroke from the Haunter. Rose pushed the Doublade as far away from them as she could with her Safeguard. Once it was down the two swords immediately came rushing towards them again, making it easier for Rose and Chuck to hit them with their Confuse Rays and get out of the way in time. Unable to adjust their path in time the swords clashed together and due to the effects of confusion they no longer had eyes for their real opponents, but instead started attacking each other. Rose remembers how impressed she was with Chuck at the time. The fight ended with Wrath taking himself out thanks to the genius idea of her boyfriend.

It appeared however she was not the only one impressed. After Wrath disappeared from the battlefield, Lust, the Mismagius who had been the announcer so far, came down from her balcony and entered the arena. Lust had an ominous aura around her with her blue eyes, and almost Hypnotic voice as she complimented Chuck on everything. His looks, his smarts, his powers, anything that came to Lust her mind as she circled around her fellow Ghost-type. Rose didn't know how to react at the time, she just felt scared. But Chuck, perplexed by what was going, also didn't realize he was being put under a spell by Lust as she kept complimenting and even seducing him with her words. It didn't take long after that for Lust to announce herself as the next opponent for Rose to fight. She remembers all too well how Lust directed that information specifically towards her with a wide grin on her face. Chuck was under her spell, he was hers, and to prove it Lust caressed Chucks face and kissed him, and Chuck did nothing to avoid it.

Small as she was as a Ralts, Rose still has nightmares about that moment too. That moment when Chuck turned around and faced her, hovering in the air right next to Lust, looking down at her almost in disgust. She wanted to scream as loud as she could, but no sound came out of her mouth when she opened it, just as always. Thinking back to what went through her mind at that time sends shivers through her spine. That feeling of hopelessness, of not being good enough, how could a Pokémon like Chuck ever truly love a stupid, naive, child like her? A child that can't even say what she feels, or communicate in any other meaningful way. How could anyone love her for that matter? She wasn’t as beautiful, feminine and matured as Lust, so why would anyone and especially Chuck want to be with her? Rose fell to the ground and broke down in tears.

Lust didn't care much for Rose her self-pity and started attacking her. Rose just let the Mismagius attack her. She loves Rowan and never wants to lose the one person who saved her when she was merely a baby, but if the choice was dying or being stuck in this realm alone forever without Chuck, Rose preferred to just die. And so she let herself be dragged around the arena like a rag-doll and smacked into the walls like a toy for Lust to torture, maim and kill. And Lust took great pleasure in causing pain to her victim, pain Rose felt when Lust burned her, or when she sent a bolt of lightning through her body while being suspended in the air. The floor had slowly turned red from Rose her blood, every time her small body smashed into the wall or floor more cuts and wounds appeared on her delicate body. But the pain gradually got less and less as Rose was slowly losing consciousness.

Lust however had other plans for her. Simply killing Rose herself wouldn't be fun and not nearly tormenting enough. When Rose had the strength again to open her eyes, she looked straight into the eyes of Chuck who was still completely under the Mismagius' spell. Then she heard Lust laughing and ordering Chuck to deliver the final blow. She remembers how Chuck charged up a large, dark ball of energy, how she looked Chuck in his empty eyes and sent a final message of love into his mind, how she wished it wouldn't end like this, how Chuck seemingly refused to kill the Pokémon he loved, how suddenly Chuck's eyes lived up again, how suddenly she felt power again as she knew Chuck was back, how their love for each other had broken the spell of Lust. That alone gave Rose a boost of power she had never felt before. She did have something to fight for, and she would no longer allow Lust to just take everything away from her. Rose had lost her family once already before Rowan took her in, and she would not let that happen again. What exactly happened after that she can't really remember, but the first thing she does remember after that is Chuck saying she evolved.

At that point a voice they hadn't heard before boomed through the arena and everything turned pitch black except a purple glowing circle in the center of the arena floor. Rose could see some strange marking in it just before a purple creature slowly ascended through it. Another ghostly creature, one that radiated power through all its pores, Rose could feel that, she could see it. Even Lust felt it as the previously dominating Pokémon looked as if she saw the devil himself rise from depths of hell. Rose and Chuck looked at each other at the same time, they saw it in each other’s eyes, and they both knew that if they had to fight this Pokémon they would not survive it. When the darkness faded, the newly arrived opponent introduced himself gently as Pride the Gengar, and made it clear he had no intention of fighting them but had only come to deliver a message from the entity that ruled the Spirit World. Pride then told the anxious couple that his master had seen great darkness inside Rose and that everything that happened had merely been a test, a way to draw this darkness out of her, and that the master was pleased with what he had seen. The whole episode ended as weirdly as it had begun. Pride handed rose a seemingly empty piece of paper, told her to keep it, and the next thing Rose remembers is waking up at the top of the hill where Rose brought Chuck to watch the sunset as if nothing happened at all.

The sound of loud horn wakes Rose up again. She figures she must have fallen asleep again after she woke up in the middle of the night because of that nightmare. Still, doesn't want to think of that too much. Today is a happy day for her, and the horn means just that, they're almost home again!

"Ah, there you are," Rowan looks at his Kirlia with a smile as she joins him outside their cabin on the boat to Cortoza, "You must be happy too that we're almost home. I'll miss Rustboro City and all the great things I have been able to work on and study. It's always nice to be back in Hoenn, with my family, but it's nice to finally get back to our own place too. Two years has been long enough don't you think Rose?"

Rose looks back at her trainer with a bright smile. The past two years where hectic, running around between home and Rustboro City for Rowan his study and work at the Devon Corporation, where Rowan's father got him an internship thanks to his many connections in the region. She'd preferred to stay at home if possible though. She knows what he does, and all the digging and fieldwork in dangerous rocky areas is not something she enjoys. Rowan has other Pokémon for that, like Lalu the Roggenrola, Graw the Rhyhorn or even Behemoth should things get tough. No place for a frail Psychic type. Rose smiles again, she can see the harbor of Cortoza already.

Rowan too thinks back on the time in Hoenn. It came very sudden. His father called him in the middle of the night. He was to get the next boat home and Charles was already waiting outside with the car, hardly any explanations given, just that it was for the greater good of the family and the company. And so he packed his important things, brought his team of Pokémon and went away, leaving everyone else behind without a warning, disappearing without a trace almost. Well, Charles would stay behind and keep his base from falling disrepair. And so he took the boat back to Slateport, where he went on his way home to the family estate near Route 102. Once home though Rowan wasn't allowed much rest. The next day his father immediately sent him to a friend, the director of the Devon Corporation, who offered Rowan an internship at his company. Rowan wasn't sure about that until he learned what he was supposed to do. The Devon Corporation was once again getting involved in rock, like they did in their earliest day before they became one of the biggest companies in the region. And Rowan was there to aid them into finding new mining sites for new materials and possibly even fossils that they could use and resurrect. For Rowan this was a great opportunity to do what he always wanted to do, being in the field with his Rock Pokémon and working with all kinds of minerals, stones and fossils.

For him it was a great two year and Rowan learned a great deal about himself, his Pokémon and the materials he loves to work with. But after two years he found it time to go back home, to his home. Before he left he had just uncovered a new mining site below his own base, and with all the new knowledge he has he made it his goal to discover the hidden secrets of the old mine he calls home. Thankfully his father allowed him to go back, on the condition he continued the work he did for the family business too. Rowan was happy to do that, work was not the only reason he wanted to go back to Cortoza. Rowan also missed his friends, just as his Pokémon missed their friends. He knew they do, he saw it, especially in Rose. She just hadn't been completely herself ever since they left.

"We'll be back home soon now Rose. I know you're looking forward to it as much as I am. I just hope my base hasn't turned into a mess. I might have sent Corvus back a few times to check up on things, and I trust he's busy preparing the place for our arrival now too as I have sent him ahead a few hours ago, but," Rowan pauses, "Sometimes I just cannot make him out. But I'm sure Charles has been an excellent housekeeper for the time I've been away."

With that thought Rowan and Rose walk off the plank and onto the mainland of Cortoza. They can already see Charles waiting with the car so they make haste getting to him, the sooner they're home the better.

"Welcome back sir," Charles says as he opens the door of the car, "You'll find your home to be in an excellent condition sir, if I may say so myself."

"Thank you Charles, I didn't expect anything else from you." The two exchange a smile as Rowan and Rose get into the car and close the door. The drive back home is a short one luckily, the roads are surprisingly empty and Rowan spends most of the time telling Charles about his adventures in Hoenn. Before they know it Rowan sees the big boulder that is the door to his base, his home. He notices Charles his gardening skills too, the small path leading up to his base is no longer covered in wildly growing bushes, but now looks more like an actual garden. Then the boulder moves, inside Corvus has pulled the lever down when he heard them coming. A moment later Rowan sets foot inside and looks at Rose.

"Finally, back home."

An odd shadow sped along the ground. Nothing seemed to be casting it, and yet, there it was nonetheless. And to make things seem even weirder, a dark grey Scolipede with blood-red eyes seemed to be in hot pursuit of the shadow, with none other than Keith Masters riding on its back.

Keith couldn't help but smile as he saw the shadow racing ahead of them. Ever since Luna had had that vision several days ago, Chuck was nothing short of ecstatic, and now that Keith knew the details of the vision, he could see why- a friend of his, Rowan Virote, after having left the Fizzytopia region two years ago, was now back. As for why Chuck was so thrilled about this, this also meant the return of Rose- Rowan's Kirlia and Chuck's girlfriend. He'd gone two years without seeing her, and he wasn't willing to wait a minute longer than he had to.

As the shadow sped along, it started to take shape. Rising up out of the shadow, like a Sharpedo's fin poking up out of the sea, was a formidable and fast-moving . Deeming his usual speed to be insufficient for getting to their destination as fast as he'd have liked, Chuck convinced Keith to Mega Evolve him so he could make the journey in record time. Of course, Keith knew that Salazar, the Scolipede he was currently riding, would get them there just as fast, but he also knew that arguing with Chuck about this would waste time, something the Gengar would definitely not thank Keith for, so he obliged.

At last, the familiar-looking cave came into view. Both Chuck and Salazar came to a stop. As Chuck started to catch his technically unnecessary breath, there was a flash of light signaling his reversion to his regular form- once again a normal Gengar, albeit he wore a purple and red headband with his precious Gengarite set into it. Keith climbed down off of Salazar at that time, the Key Stone set into his Mega Hat gleaming in the sunlight.

"Well, we're here," Keith said to Chuck. "You ready?"

The Gengar grinned. "Been ready for the past two years," he replied. Keith exchanged looks with the Meowth on his shoulder as Chuck floated over to the large boulder and excitedly knocked on it himself.

Rose looks up from the series she is watching as she feels a familiar presence drawing near. A bright smile appears on her face. The presence she feels might be slightly different, and way more powerful, than she remembers it, but there is no mistaking who it is. As soon as she hears the knock on the door Rose Teleports herself to the door and pulls the lever down. She could have Teleported outside if she wanted, but someone has to open the door for the people who Chuck would undoubtedly bring with him. And so, as the boulder moves away, Rose finds herself looking into the eyes of the Pokémon she knows is Chuck, yet looks completely different. But still she doesn't hesitate to hug him, and to give him a kiss in front of the others no matter how much it makes her blush.

Rowan meanwhile, being too caught up in his work to hear the knock, did heard the door open and quickly gets up from his seat to see what's going on only to be greeted by a familiar face.

"Keith!" he says with a smile as he walks up to him, "Welcome, please come in, I'm glad Behemoth is at the mining site now so we don't have a repeat of the first time you came here." Rowan laughs and offers Keith a drink, "Coffee? Tea? Something else? Something stronger perhaps? I have an excellent single malt whiskey that I have brought with me from Hoenn." Rowan smiles again, "It's nice to see you again Keith, after all that time I'm surprised you haven't forgotten where I live yet."

In no time at all, the boulder was rolled away. Salazar was visibly impressed by this- the opening it created, it looked large enough for him to go into!

Chuck, on the other hand, was not concerned with things like the size of the entrance, but rather, who was standing within. The lever for the door had been pulled by none other than the very Kirlia he longed to see, and it was clear the feeling was mutual on her part. As Chuck floated inside, they wasted no time in hugging each other, which quickly led to kissing. Chuck was loving this, after two agonizingly long years of not being able to see Rose. Two years too long, in his opinion. He said nothing just yet, lest this kiss be cut short- a most uninviting prospect, in Chuck's opinion- but if Rose could so clearly make her love for Chuck known without speaking, then Chuck could surely do the same in regards to his love for Rose.

Meanwhile, Rowan greeted them happily, inviting them inside. Keith and Meowth entered first (well, second, considering Chuck was already inside, reuniting with Rose), followed by Salazar, who was crawling his way into the spacious cavern- it looked big enough to comfortably contain a Steelix, Salazar thought, looking visibly impressed. It wasn't often he was able to go indoors anymore!

"Hey, Rowan," Keith said with a smile. He chuckled as Rowan assured him that his Steelix, Behemoth, was currently at a mining site, and thus unable to initiate a repeat of what happened last time. "That's actually almost too bad," Keith replied. "Melittin probably would've loved a rematch." Rowan then offered Keith a drink, listing several possibilities including whiskey from Hoenn. "Uh... maybe just some water for now?" Keith asked after a few moments of thought.

"And some milk for me-owth if ya got any," Meowth added.

Rowan stated it was nice to see Keith again, and voiced his mild surprise that he hadn't forgotten where Rowan lived. "What can I say?" Keith shrugged. "I got a good memory. And it certainly didn't hurt that I wound up following Chuck the whole way here, either," he added, with a grin at the... currently occupied Ghost/Poison-type. "My Arceus, has he missed Rose... So, Rowan, where've you been?" Keith asked. "You mentioned something about Hoenn?"

"Come, let's take a seat in the living area and I'll you and Meowth your drinks," Rowan gestures his guests towards the small but well-lit tunnel connection the enormous play room with the more cosy and inviting living area, "I'll tell you all about my time in Hoenn as I have indeed been to my home province the past two years." He then looks up at the Scolipede that entered with Keith, "Uhm Keith, I'm sorry to have to ask you this, but would with you if you left your Scolipede in this room, or otherwise return it to its Pokéball? It's a bit big for the living area." Rowan pauses for a moment at looks back at Keith, "Maybe it's best if you return Scolipede to it's Pokéball and we all go have our drinks and talk down at the mining site here below us. Most of my Pokémon are there too and your Scolipede will have plenty of space to run around and enjoy itself in. My apologies." Rowas directs his last two words more towards the Scolipede than its trainer, and says mostly to himself, "I really do need to find a good solution to allow the Pokémon here to go directly from this room to the mining site."

Rose meanwhile isn't concerned with her trainers worries. She hasn't bother taking an elevator or flight of stairs herself in years, she simply Teleports to where she wants to be even in the house. Though right now she doesn't want to be anywhere else than where she is right now, safely in Chuck's arms. She missed this comforting feeling a lot the past two years, as well as the feeling of being intimate with her boyfriend and thus Rose continues their kiss for as long as she can before being forced to brake it to catch a breath. She looks Chuck in his eyes and sends an image of a lovely red heart into his mind.

Mute as she is, Rose spend much of her time practicing her other ways of communicating while she stayed at the Virote's family estate. Thankfully Rose had a very willing friend in Fae, being the only other 'girly' girl in Rowan's team, who she has bonded with a lot in their two year in Hoenn. Since her evolution into Kirlia Rose her mental abilities and potential have become much more powerful and she has trained them a lot, looking at pictures, books and around the estate to learn now things look and try to send accurate images into Fae her mind who would give her feedback on what she has seen. So now Rose is capable of not only sending colors into the minds of others, but also shapes and more detailed objects.

Rowan invited Keith and his Pokémon to the living area, though then suggested that Keith withdraw Salazar first- apparently the living area wasn't quite as large as this area. He then added that they could instead go to the mining site below them- most of Rowan's Pokémon were down there anyway, and apparently there'd be much more room for the Scolipede down there. "That sounds good," Keith replied.

Rowan then apologized to Salazar for the inconvenience. "Scoli, Scolipede," Salazar replied, nodding understandingly. Far from taking offense from the situation, the dark grey Scolipede was just thankful this place had any room for him inside at all.

Keith smiled up at his Scolipede. "I think Salazar's just glad there's anywhere in here big enough for him in the first place," he said to Rowan. "Even in my own Secret Base, there's only one room large enough to comfortably hold him. OK, Salazar, return," he added, holding out the Poké Ball, which immediately called back its tall occupant. "Alright, lead the way," Keith said to Rowan.

Meanwhile, the minor situation regarding Salazar's size seemed to matter to neither Chuck nor Rose, the two of them far more preoccupied with each other. Once their kiss stopped, Rose looked into Chuck's eyes, and suddenly, Chuck could see an image of a red heart in his mind.

Chuck smiled. He'd missed that as well- Rose's ability to transmit colors into his mind. Only now there was a shape to it! This was new, for sure. "You've been practicing, Rose," Chuck said. "That was beautiful... I love you, too," he added. "I get the feeling that's the general idea of what you were trying to say with that heart," he grinned.

"Thanks for understanding," Rowan replies before Keith return his Scolipede, "Well, let's go than." Rowan leads his guests through the tunnel to the living area, the only part of the base that would not look out of place in a regular home as while the place is large, it's no higher than the average living room you'd expect in a house, and decorated as such too with an open kitchen an dining area on the right side of the tunnel, and a cosy living area on the left where you can relax and watch sports or play games as you hang on the couch.

Rowan meanwhile continues talking, "I've been back home, in Hoenn indeed, for the past two years. If I remember correctly you're from Hoenn too aren't you Keith? I'd swear you've told me that when we first met in the Bar. In any case, my father called me and sort of demanded my return. He had arranged an internship and field research position at the Devon Corporation. I have to say that was a great experience," he pauzes as he opens the fridge to get his drink and Meoth's milk, "Moment please, I'll get the drinks ready."

"So anyways," Rowan continues a short while later, carrying a vintage, silver tray with their drinks as well as matching etagčre with some scones, cupcakes, Poffins and Poké Puffs, "Would you be so kind to open the elevator door?" Rowan nods in the direction of the door with his head, before anyone has the opportunity to open the door, it opens by itself and Fae, Rowans Beautifly, flies out.

"Beau Beautifly!" Fae greets everyone and then flies off through the tunnel and the others get in, "The bottom one, with the rock icon please, that will bring us to the mine."

"So as I wanted to say, I've been working Devon all that time. They have picked up their mining work again, though a bit different than what they used to do when they first started. They are looking for Fossils to revive first and foremost, and for new materials they may be able to use to improve and to learn more about the geological makeup on Hoenn and how the earth beneath it works. So I've spend a lot of time around Mt. Chimney and Sootopolis digging and doing my research. All quite interesting really."

Rowan has managed to talk the time full that it took him and his guests to reach the mining site as a pinging sound alerts them that they have arrived. When the doors slide open a humongous area is revealed, easily as high as a ten-story building, with large stalagmites and stalactites all over the place and some forming huge pillars from top till bottom.

"Well, this is the mining site than. Or rather cave in which the entrance to the mine is," Rowan says, this time nodding towards a huge white tent covered in all sorts of warning signs and demands for hard hats, "It can be dangerous down there. But Keith, feel free to have Salazar run around here, I'm sure he'll have no trouble running into my Pokémon. I expect most of them to be near the lake though, which is somewhere on our right side."

Rowan walks towards a few rocks close-by, " I've had a few chairs carved out of the side of these rocks, and this one here always works fine as a table," he says as he puts the tray on top of it and starts placing the drinks and snacks around, "Please take a seat and tell me Keith, what have you been up while I've been gone?"

Above them, Rose nods happily. 'I love you' was indeed what she tried to tell Chuck and she gives him another hug. Rose then finally notices the headband the Gengar wears and points at it with a slightly tilted head as she not fully understanding what it for.

OOC: I'll expand more later on Chuck/Rose, or not if a reply comes first haha

Rowan led the way, and was quite right, as Keith soon found out- the living area was furnished like a combination living room/kitchen, and was no bigger than an average one, at that. It reminded Keith of when he'd first bought his Secret Base, all those years ago. Only two rooms back then- hard to believe, considering it was now a rather large two-story house incorporating such rooms as a Battle Room, a library, and even an indoor swimming pool. But in any case, Keith knew that while Salazar might fit in here, it'd be way too much of a squeeze for his comfort.

Rowan went on to explain he'd been back in Hoenn for the past two years, while mentioning recalling Keith having come from Hoenn as well. Keith nodded to confirm this- indeed he was from Hoenn, and indeed the subject had come up when they'd first met in the Bar. Rowan had, apparently, been in an internship at the Devon Corporation, a name quite familiar to Keith indeed. He knew the company mostly for the creation of a number of Poké Ball varieties, such as the Timer Ball, the Repeat Ball, the Net Ball, and the Dive Ball.

Rowan paused at this moment to prepare the drinks, and a small assortment of snacks- scones, cupcakes, Poffins, and even Poké Puffs. He then asked if Keith would open the elevator door, but before Keith could do much more than nod, the need to do anything of the sort was swiftly eliminated- the elevator door opened by itself, and a Beautifly flew out. Meowth flinched involuntarily at this.

"Oh, quit being so dramatic," Keith said to Meowth. "You know full well that's not Fatale."

"I know dat," Meowth snapped back. "It's a survival instinct kicked in, is all."

Once they were in the elevator and headed down, Rowan continued talking. He'd been working with Devon the entire time, and apparently they'd been going back to their roots somewhat- mining work. Only now their interest was in fossils, among other things. And Rowan had apparently spent a lot of time digging around the areas of Sootopolis City and-

"Mt. Chimney?" Keith repeated with interest. "Wow- that's pretty much just a stone's throw from my hometown," he said with a smile.

"Bad pun intended?" Meowth asked.

"Completely," nodded Keith.

Around that time, the elevator came to a stop, and as the doors slid open, so too did Keith's mouth as his jaw succumbed to gravity. He expected a large cave kind of area, alright, but this was enormous! Salazar would have room to maneuver and then some!

"...Holy crap," Keith and Meowth murmured simultaneously, a murmur which echoed all around the cavernous cavern.

Rowan introduced this ultra-spacious area as the cave containing the entrance to the mine, and encouraged Keith to let Salazar run around. Nodding at this, Keith produced the Poké Ball from his belt and tossed it into the air, unleashing the Megapede Pokémon back out into the open.

Salazar's red eyes widened as he surveyed his spacious surroundings. "SCOLipede!" he exclaimed in awe.

"Have fun, Salazar, behave, you know the drill," Keith smiled. At this, Salazar started wandering around, taking in the extremely roomy cave the whole while.

Presently they came to a set of rocks, which Rowan explained he'd carved into chairs, with one of them serving as a decent table. As he placed the tray on the table, he urged Keith to take a seat, and to tell him what he'd been up to in his absence.

Keith and Meowth exchanged glances as the former sat in one of the rock chairs. "You gonna tell him about Mt. Aduro?" asked Meowth.

"I don't see why not," Keith replied, before turning back to Rowan. "Alright, well, a lot's gone on in the past two years, but one thing I have to mention is, about a year ago, I decided to explore Aduro Island, in the Cascadia archipelago. It all started when me and Godric- my Nidoking- got off the ferry..."

"...And this guy wasn't getting the hint, until the Magcargo started attacking him, so that's when me and Godric stepped in..."

"...another pair of Magcargo came slithering out of the river, so we all decided to make a run for it instead of continuing to fight..."

"...extremely bumpy terrain, but- well, you mentioned you've been to Mt. Chimney? You know the Jagged Pass? I spent at least half my childhood climbing all over that thing, so navigating this was a piece of cake..."

"...so obviously with so much valuable gems and whatnot right above us, I'm thinking I'm set for life, but then there's an earthquake, and then the whole thing starts caving in. And to make matters worse, instead of going for the exit, this rock landed right behind me and Meowth, scared us both out of our wits, and we wound up taking off in the complete opposite direction..."

"...I mean, I'm just thankful those rocks fell off the wall and not the ceiling, elseways my legs would've been broken for sure. But I had Helga- my Hariyama- help to clear the rocks off my legs, and also shatter this huge boulder that would've hit me right in the head..."

"...and a Doduo comes out of nowhere and helps Meowth defeat the Torkoal. The Doduo wanted us to follow it. I don't know where this Doduo came from or where it wants to lead us, but at the moment I figure anything's better than where we were at the time, y'know? So I sent out Vernon, this Tauros I used to own, climbed on his back, and told him to follow Doduo..."

"...and we came out in this huge open area of the cave... kinda similar to how big this place is, actually. More importantly, the cave-in wasn't happening in this area, so Doduo basically saved our lives just then. But then we see Kyle, that journalist from before- the Doduo's his, and this pair of Magmar are advancing on him while a pack of Heatmor are cowering behind him..."

"...but before I gave Vernon a command, I used my Pokédex to do a more in-depth scan on the Heatmor pack, because I saw it say Heatmor can have Flash Fire. And Vernon knows Role Play, so I figured an immunity to Fire would really come in handy. Of the five Heatmor, however, the first four all had Gluttony. The leader of the pack was the only one with Flash Fire..."

"...and Magmar's closing in, and Vernon's still trying to stand back up, when Doduo and the Heatmor leader just jump in and attack with Peck and Tackle respectively. Didn't do much, but it bought Vernon the time he needed to get back up..."

"...but before Magmar can run away, this big booming voice goes 'WEAKLING', and a huge rock falls from out of nowhere, right on Magmar. It... it could not have survived that..."

"...and Meowth translated for me. Turns out the god of the mountain, known only as 'the great one' was out to wipe out that pack of Heatmor, the last of their kind on the island, just because they didn't meet his arbitrary criteria for being worthy to live in the mountain. I tell you, I was furious about that. I mean, the Heatmor were obviously good, decent Pokémon, and their leader had helped out more than once against the Magmar. I decided then and there I would help them out no matter what..."

"...so we backed out of the first tunnel, since there was no way for all of us to get through it safely. We go back and enter the second tunnel, and there's this weird yellow smoke. I didn't know what to make of it... and then I got a better look at the tunnel's walls. They were lined with hundreds of horribly mangled Weezing corpses, all of them giving off Smog and Poison Gas..."

"...of course, James was exhausted, but he had enough left in him to use Aromatherapy one last time to cure Godric's burn. I was through panicking, and I had a plan. Unfortunately, Godric only had enough power for his Confusion to get the Heatmor across the lake of lava, which left me and Meowth to navigate that perilous rock platform puzzle..."

"...and I knew he could very easily allow the remaining platform to sink back into the lava with us on it, too, but no way in hell was I gonna give up on the Heatmor, y'know? So I sent out my Weezing, Gemini and Mustard, and used them as an emergency conveyance to make it the rest of the way across. Only thing is, Weezing aren't built to support humans in flight, and we almost didn't make it. Gemini nearly dropped us, but Mustard, Arceus bless him, had just enough strength to heave me, Meowth, and Gemini onto solid rock..."

"...and there was Kyle! He'd been spared the great one's wrath, but only on the condition he dissuades me from going any further. I could tell this wasn't sitting well with him at all, so I had Meowth stall Doduo while I tried to talk some sense into him. Unfortunately, he was too scared of the great one to agree to come with me. I didn't like it, but we had to leave him there and hope for the best..."

"...and the Magmortar that climbed out of the lava was massive. I sent out Helga to battle it- she's taller than I am, and even she's shorter than that Magmortar was. And then, on top of it all, all her Arm Thrust seemed to do was trigger Flame Body. I'm thinking we might be screwed at this point, except turns out Helga's Ability is Guts! All that burn did was power her up! So I began to piece the strategy together in my mind..."

"...and when Magmortar couldn't stand back up, I knew Force Palm had finally paralyzed it, so I had Helga follow up with Smelling Salts, and then she finished the job with a powerful Brine attack. However, this caused Magmortar to fall into the lava, and when Helga pulled it back out, it had turned completely to stone..."

"...and there it was, the great one, the god of Mt. Aduro- a gigantic Heatran. Helga was all set for another fight, but I held her back. I mean, I knew she had it in her, but I also knew whose battle this really was- Gemini and Mustard's. So I sent them in, but things went very badly very quickly, as it used Lava Plume to counter our Zap Cannon..."

"...so I'm figuring if Doduo used up its last moments of life to bring me Kyle's backpack, I might as well see if he had anything that could help. He had, I kid you not, a Dire Hit and a Max Revive. So I used the former on the Heatmor leader, and the latter on Gemini and Mustard, and we were back in the fight..."

"...and the Magma Storm was closing in on the Heatmor pack, Gemini and Mustard were still recovering from Hyper Beam, and the Heatmor leader's out cold at this point, so I did the only thing that made sense- I had Helga aim a Focus Blast right at the big crack in Heatran's head. And it worked. She had to aim through swirling pillars of magma and she still landed the attack. There was a big explosion, and once it died down, Heatran's iron helmet was crumbling away, its eyes were glazed over, and it was just melting into the ground. And then, believe it or not, all the lava just cooled off all at once, like Heatran being alive was what kept the volcano alive. There were all these wild Pokémon gathering, they mostly seemed awed that I managed to eliminate the tyrant who'd been terrorizing the mountain. They were all thankful to me, but most of all the Heatmor leader. As I was getting ready to leave the mountain, the leader approached me, the rest of the pack seeming to urge him to do something. And I had a feeling I knew what that something was, so first I thanked Heatmor for all his help, and then I asked if he'd like to come with me. Of course he was conflicted- I mean, he'd only just made the mountain safe for his family again, I imagine he kinda wanted to live there with them in peace and safety for once, but his pack insisted he come with me. So I held out a Level Ball to him- this Level Ball, in fact," Keith added, producing a Level Ball from his belt. "And, well... see for yourself what he decided." With that, Keith tossed the Level Ball into the air. "Kyle, come on out!"

In a flash of light, the very Heatmor Keith had been talking about materialized. He eyed the spacious cave with an approving nod- it seemed to remind him of his old home- before his eyes fell on Rowan. "Mor?" Kyle said curiously.

"Kyle, this is my friend Rowan," Keith said. "Rowan, meet Kyle. Named him after that journalist- after all he'd done to help us, I thought it was only fitting, and Kyle here agreed completely."

"Heatmor mor," Kyle said to Rowan, offering a handshake.

Rose nodded happily, confirming Chuck's guess to be a correct one, and they hugged again. Chuck couldn't stop smiling- two years of not seeing each other and he still had almost no trouble figuring out what Rose was trying to convey to him.

Soon, however, Rose's eyes found the Gengarite Headband Chuck was wearing, and she pointed up at it, looking at it curiously. "Hmm?" Chuck murmured, before looking up and realizing what Rose was pointing at. "Oh, this?" he said, removing the headband and holding it up to give Rose a better look. "That stone in there, that's a kind of Mega Stone called Gengarite. I don't know if you've ever heard of Mega Evolution before- it's a kind of transformation certain kinds of Pokémon can undergo with the help of their Trainers. I don't know if you saw the rainbow-colored stone Keith has set into his hat? That's called a Key Stone. When Keith activates the Key Stone, and I'm wearing this, it allows me to Mega Evolve- I can temporarily gain a new, more powerful form during battle. I'd show you right now, but I'd need Keith to help me demonstrate," he added apologetically.

Read the adventure, really cool, nice work by Marble too!

Once they sat down, Keith starts to tell Rowan about a most amazing story about his adventures on Aduro Island in the Cascadia archipelago. Rowan listens attentively and at times almost literally clings to every word he says, uttering "Wow's" and "Really's" every time something exiting happens. Especially when Keith tells him about the battle he had with the legendary Heatran and how he eventually, after a long and exhausting battle, managed to beat the tyrant of the mounting with his Weezing and the help of a wild Heatmor. At that point, when the Keith had finished the battle part of the story, Rowan got curious about what happened with the Heatmor pack, but Keith already answered that question for him as he continued to tell him how the pack encouraged their leader to go with him. And with that Keith introduced the Heatmor Kyle to him, who offered him a handshake.

"Nice to meet you Kyle," Rowan says while accepting the handshake, "I hope you will feel at home here, while I know little of Aduro Island, Cortoza does have some similar treats from what I gather, and for a fire-type as yourself I'm sure you can appreciate the tropical temperatures in here."

Rowan then turns to Keith, "That was quite the adventure my friend. I wish my life was as eventful as yours," he laughs, "All I do is dig into rocks and trying to manage my twins." Now Rowan laughs even louder, "Anyways, how about we walk around here for a bit after we have finished our drinks and treats. I'd like to show you the lake here, and," Rowan continues while offering Kyle a Poffin, "I'm sure Salazar and my Pokémon would like a snack too."

Meanwhile upstairs, Rose listens to Chuck's explanation of what the headband he's wearing is. She looks somewhat confused; 'Mega-Evolution' it's a term Rose has heard before, she remembers Rowan having used the word a few times, but has no idea what it really means. She returns the Gengar's apology with a smile. It's okay he can't show her now, she knows she'll get to see it some day and Rose is not in a hurry.

"Hello!" it sounds from behind Chuck in a softly spoken and kind manner. Rose moves her body to the left to see who's behind her boyfriend and immediately her expression turns even brighter than it already was.

"You must be Chuck, I've heard a lot about from Lalu and of course from Rose in her own, unique manner. My name is Fae, it's nice to finally meet you." The Beautifly gracefully flies around the couple, curiously smiling as if she's waiting for them to do something she just knows they have been doing, asking them giggling, What have you two been up to here all by yourselves?

Rowan listened attentively to Keith's story, which culminated in Keith sending out the very Heatmor who'd featured quite prominently in said story. "Heatmor," Kyle said as Rowan shook his hand, nodding as Rowan expressed hope that the Fire-type would feel at home here- indeed, a cave such as this reminded Kyle of Mt. Aduro, minus the whole having to constantly run for his life deal. Always a plus, that last bit.

Rowan then turned back to Keith, clearly impressed with the adventure the Poison-type Trainer had been a part of, and wished his own life could be that eventful. "Well, maybe it will be, now that you're back in Fizzytopia," Keith suggested. "Things always seem to happen in this region. I usually just find myself in the right place at the right time, y'know?" Rowan then suggested that once they were done with the drinks and snacks that they walk around for a little bit, show Keith the lake, and offer snacks to Salazar and to Rowan's Pokémon as well. "Sounds good," Keith agreed as Kyle gratefully accepted the Poffin Rowan had offered him. The Heatmor began to slowly consume the Poffin, due in part to the fact that a Heatmor's mouth by no means allowed him to eat much of anything in a single bite. "In fact, I think some of my other Pokémon would appreciate a snack as well," he added, reaching for his belt. "Don't worry- I didn't bring my Vileplume, my Victreebel, or my Swalot," Keith added with a small chuckle.

"Ya didn't bring Fatale either, did ya?" Meowth added nervously, trying to get a good look at the Poké Balls on Keith's belt.

"No, Meowth. Relax, would you?" Keith said exasperatedly. As he spoke, he plucked a Poké Ball, an Ultra Ball, and a Cherish Ball off his belt, and threw them into the air. "Hermione, Mel, Ariana, come on out!" he exclaimed.

In triple flashes of light, the Pokémon materialized. The Poké Ball let out a slightly larger than average Weedle onto the table, the Ultra Ball unleashed a Beedrill into the air, and the Cherish Ball unleashed a Trubbish, who clung to Keith's leg, looking around at her unfamiliar surroundings.

"You probably remember Melittin," Keith said to Rowan, gesturing to the Beedrill. Keith imagined Rowan would find it hard to forget the Beedrill, considering the last time Keith had been here, Melittin wound up battling Rowan's Steelix, and had held his own quite impressively against the Iron Snake Pokémon, too. "He's pretty much the same as always, except for the minor detail that he can Mega Evolve now," said Keith, at which Melittin buzzed proudly and showed off the Beedrillite strapped to his left foreleg stinger. "This here is Hermione," Keith continued, gesturing to the Weedle on the table. "Hermione, this is my friend Rowan."

"Weedle," Hermione replied, politely bowing at Rowan before starting to eye the various snacks on the table, sniffing at them with her large red nose, thinking about which one she wanted to try first.

"And this is Ariana," Keith added, scooping up the Trubbish in his arms, the Poison-type looking up shyly at Rowan. "A little shy, but probably the nicest Pokémon you'll ever want to meet. Ariana, this is my friend Rowan," Keith added.

"T-T-Trubbish..." Ariana murmured, shyly waving at Rowan, blushing from the compliment Keith had just given her.

Back upstairs, Rose smiled at Chuck, as though to reassure him that his inability to demonstrate Mega Evolution right this minute wasn't a problem to her. Chuck smiled back in response. "You know, Rose," he said. "From what I know about Mega Evolution, I think you'll also be able to Mega Evolve someday-"

At that moment, however, Chuck was interrupted by a cheerful voice greeting him from behind. Rose looked around Chuck, and seemed happy to see whoever this was. Before Chuck could also see who this was, she saved him the trouble of turning by starting to fly around them- a Beautifly. Different color scheme from Keith's Beautifly, but considering Fatale was a Shiny, this didn't surprise Chuck very much. The Beautifly introduced herself as Fae, but as far as she was concerned, Chuck needed no introduction- she'd heard a lot about him already. "All good things, I hope?" Chuck chuckled. "A pleasure to meet you, Fae. Any friend of Rose's is a friend of mine." Fae then asked what they've been up to by themselves here, while giggling as though already having a shrewd idea as to the answer.

"Thus far we've been making up for lost time," Chuck replied. "We haven't seen each other in two years, after all, and it's been two years too long in my opinion." He continued to hug Rose as he spoke. Then, he looked back at Fae, something having occurred to him. "Fae... I actually did hear about you, from Myrtle and Helena... but according to them, aren't you afraid of ghosts or something?" Chuck asked. "I mean, obviously I'm happy you don't seem scared of me, but even so, is it just me you're not scared of, or are you no longer afraid of ghosts at all?"

Rowan watches Keith release his other Pokémon, who are revealed to be a Weedle, a Beedrill and a shy looking Trubbish, after which he introduces his Pokémon to Rowan, starting with Melittin.

“How could I ever forget you? I remember the last time, when you and Behemoth nearly destroyed my base, very well” Rowan says with a sense of exaggeration and laughs, the Beedrill then proudly shows the Megastone he wears on his stinger, “Really cool that you can Mega Evolve Melittin, I’ve heard of the power it brings and the transformations a Pokémon goes through, but I´ve never really seen it. I’m sure Behemoth would love a rematch to test your new-found powers, as well as his own I might add. He’s grown a little so to speak.”

Next Rowan turns to Keith’s Weedle, Hermione, who politely bows before him. “You’re quite the courteous lady aren’t you,” Rowan says while returning the gesture with a gentle bow of his own, “and I see you’re interested in the treats, feel free to enjoy them as much as your heart desires.”

Lastly Rowan is introduces to Ariana, who Keith now holds in is arms, the little Trubbish acts shy and stutters an evenly shy greeting which Rowan returns with a friendly smile. “Hello there, aren’t you a cute little Trubbish,” he says and gently pets the Trash Bag Pokémon, “you don’t have to feel shy around here, I’m sure everyone is happy to meet you.” Rowan takes a fancy looking Poké Puff of the tray and gives it Ariana, “Here, I’m sure you’ll like this one.”

Rowan sits down again to finish his tea so he has his hands free to show the other parts of the cavern and to see his other Pokémon. He doesn’t have to search for one of his Pokémon though as a loud and long “ROOOOG!” reaches his ears.

“Rog! Roggenrola!” Lalu comes jumping from behind a pillar, “Rog! Rola! Roggenrola!” With all the speed she has she jumps straight into Melittin, almost knocking him over.

“Mel, dude, I thought I heard a familiar buzz, what have you been up to? Damned I missed you buddy!” the little Rock-type jumps up and down from joy all around the Beedrill, ”How about we go have some fun?”

Rowan looks entertained, “It seems like those two know each other quite well too.” He takes the last sip of his tea, gets up and waits for everyone else to be ready, “So Keith, how about we go see the lake. Lalu came from that direction, so I assume my other Pokémon are around there too.” Rowan then turns to the Pokémon, “You’re all free to do your own thing I would be inclined to say, either come with us to the lake, or enjoy the treats I’ll leave behind. I won’t bring all of them.”

Soon after Rowan leads Keith through the cave, trying to keep his tray as stable as possible in an attempt to not drop any of the Poffins and Poké Puffs as they walk over the uneven, rocky ground, “You know, when I first bought this base, I never expected there would such an immensely grand cavern below it, let alone old mining shafts. As a matter of fact, the lake itself is not really a lake, or at least it wasn’t. It used to be a mining shaft too, but due to leaking groundwater and the absence of water pumps to keep the mine from flooding the shaft filled with water, and erosion did the rest in creating the lake you’re about to see.”

“By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask you. Who is Fatale, and why does Meowth act as if Fatale is the Grim Reaper himself?”

A little while later they arrive at the lake side, “Here it is, the lake,” Rowan says as he looks for a suitable rock to place the tray on. The lake itself looks dark, the water is muddy, sharp rocks stick out of the water along edges and a normal shoreline is mostly nonexistent with most if it being rocky and steep. The only exception is a stretch of land in the center that looks like it is artificially lengthened to form a natural pier into in lake.

“RHYYYYY!” a growling grunt comes from behind, a loud “ROG!” follows quickly. Rowan looks over his shoulder to see what’s going on, but hardly gets the time to see it as a stampeding Rhyhorn runs into him and knocks him over. The Rock Pokémon then pokes his trainer with his horn, growling kindly.

“Roggenrola!” a shiny grayish Roggenrola jumps down from the back of the Rhyhorn right on top of Rowan, “Rog rog roggenrola!” he sounds exited and starts hopping around.

“Graw, Quad, would you please watch out where you’re going next time?” Rowan doesn’t sound too pleased with being nearly trampled by his own Pokémon, “Guess you’ve been following your nose again. “ Rowan sighs as he gets up from the ground and turns to Keith, “So, this here is Graw, and I’m sure you noticed he loves to run and crash into things, including people,” he says holding his hand on his Rhyhorn. “And that little Roggenrola is Quad, he’s a bit different as you can see, instead of the normal rock Roggenrola are built of, Quad is built from Quartzite instead making him a bit harder and tougher than most, and of course he looks the part too with that shiny Quartz crystal on his head.”

Rowan takes a nicely decorated Poké Puff of the tray he managed to put away before being crashed into and feeds it to his Rhyhorn, “Here Graw, this one is for you, it’s chocolate flavored with a sweet cherry filling and cream, your favorite.” The Rock-type visibly enjoys his snack and prances awkwardly once he’s finished it.

“Wait Keith, I want to show you something cool. Well, I think it’s cool.” Rowan walks to the edge of the lake on the pier like landmass, right on the point where the water meets the land. He stands there and calls out loud, “Behemoth! Leviathan!” and turn around towards Keith, with a bit of a smirk on his face. He then holds his arms out wide and low for a moment before bringing them up while shouting “Rise!” and making himself look tall. Rowan looks almost like a preacher with his arms up wide in the air and looking towards the ceiling. But right at the moment he shouts, two giant snakes appear next to him with a deafening roar. One rises from below the surface of the water, the other from below the ground on which they stand. Their swift arrival creates an enormous storm of water and sand around him as if bomb has exploded. Once the dust and droplets have settled Rowan stands there as if nothing has happened with a huge Steelix and almost equally huge Gyarados next to him. They’re both bigger than average, especially the Gyarados who looks to be only marginally shorter than the Iron Snake compared to a normal one.

“Keith, meet my Tag-Team, Behemoth and Leviathan.”

Upstairs Chuck and Fae are getting acquainted. “Making up for lost time,” Fae giggles, “I know what that means,” she giggles again, but looks a bit more serious when the subject of her past fears comes up. She listens to Chuck and replies, [/I]“I used to be really scared of Ghosts yes, but even before we left most of that was solved already, mostly thanks to Helena. I’m still wary around Ghosts though, but if you manage to get a keeper like Rose as girlfriend, you can’t be that bad.” [/I] Fae laughs and her previous cheerful and kind expression return to her face.

”Rose my dear, why don’t bring us to the bedroom?” Fae suggests, ”It’s a lot more pleasant there, and I promise to give you your privacy back there. I will be too busy tending to the flowers and the bees.” Fae laughs at her own joke.

Rose nods and looks at Chuck to see what he is thinking. She would like to go to bedroom too. The environment there is much nicer and more colorful than the big cave they’re in now. And she would like to show Chuck all the things she has learned in Hoenn, and perhaps he could help her train her abilities even further.

Rowan laughed as he recalled Melittin's last battle against Behemoth, before marveling at the fact that the Beedrill could now Mega Evolve. He then told the Beedrill that Behemoth would likely love a rematch, not only to test the Beedrill's new powers, but also his own- apparently he's grown somewhat in the past few years. Melittin buzzed enthusiastically in response.

Rowan then returned Hermione's polite bow with one of his own, and invited her to enjoy as many of the treats as she liked. "Weedle Weedle," Hermione replied, nodding to Rowan before turning back to the tray. She sniffed at one of the Poffins, and inspected it for a moment, before charging up a miniature Chocolate Magic attack and firing it at the Poffin. This was just enough to coat the Poffin in chocolate, after which the Weedle happily munched on it.

Next was Ariana, Keith's Trubbish, who Rowan greeted in a very friendly matter. Ariana seemed to be put at ease somewhat by Rowan's words, as well as the pat on the head. She shyly accepted the Poké Puff, taking a moment to marvel at how fancy it looked before she took a bite. Her eyes lit up as she chewed it. "Trub Trubbish!" she said happily before resuming eating the Poké Puff, now with slightly more enthusiasm.

They continued to eat and drink their various snacks and beverages, and once Rowan went to finish his tea, a Roggnerola's cry sounded throughout the cavern. This caught Melittin's attention, and indeed, the Roggenrola in question jumped right into the Beedrill, catching him off-guard and knocking him to the ground.

"Oof!" Melittin grunted, before getting a look at who had slammed into him. "Hey, Lalu!" grinned the Beedrill. "Missed you, too." The Roggenrola seemed overjoyed to see her friend again, and suggested they go and have some fun. "Heh, sure thing," Melittin replied.

Keith and Rowan watched this as the latter remarked that the two of them seemed to know each other rather well. "They do, yeah," he agreed. "In fact, Myrtle was telling me that what set off that fight between Mel and Behemoth last time was because he was trying to protect Lalu from Behemoth or something."

Rowan finished his tea after that, as Keith gulped down the rest of his water, and then Rowan asked if Keith would like to see the lake. "Sure," Keith agreed. He was eager to see this underground lake, and as they got underway, Rowan explained just how the underground lake came to be. Hermione, who was following behind them, listened attentively, equally intrigued by the phenomenon.

Keith then gave a small sigh as Rowan asked who Fatale was, and why Meowth seemed as fearful of her as one would be of death itself. "Fatale is the most recent Pokémon I've caught," Keith explained to Rowan. "A couple of weeks ago, me and Meowth, we came across this place called Cadaver Forest. A guy outside the forest warned us against going in- rumor has it the forest is home to a vicious bloodsucking vampire who never let any trespassers leave with their lives, hence the name. As you can imagine, this was enough to freak Meowth out. But I wasn't all that worried, and plus, curiosity was getting the better of me, so we wound up going through it anyway. Really creepy forest, though- the trees were barely letting any light through, and me and Meowth appeared to be the only living things in there."

"Which should'a clued dis guy in dat maybe dere was a reason fer dat," Meowth interjected.

"Anyway, we're maybe three quarters through the forest," continued Keith. "When suddenly we hear this rustling sound, like wings. We don't see anything, but it's getting closer, and once it sounds like it's right behind us, we turn and look, and it's a Shiny Beautifly. Meowth starts to relax... and then the Beautifly started attacking. Dove right for my neck, after which my Pokédex so helpfully mentioned that Beautifly are aggressive and stab their prey with their long mouths to drink their fluids. So I had Meowth battle the Beautifly, and they were actually pretty evenly matched. Meowth wanted out of there, but I wasn't about to let a Beautifly get the better of me. Might not have been the smartest way of thinking, but even so, I couldn't just back away from this. I called back Meowth and sent out Lenny, my Weavile, who attacked with Ice Beam, but the Beautifly was actually able to counter with Signal Beam. I called Lenny back, and next I sent out Rubeus- you remember him, the Stunfisk I had with me last time I was here- and his Thunder Shock did some decent damage, but when Beautifly started using Absorb, I called Rubeus back and sent out Severus- pretty sure you remember him, he's my Dustox. And to my amusement, Severus just fell in love with the Beautifly right there. They started battling, and they're pretty evenly matched, so it's going well. Finally, Severus lands a powerful Hyper Beam, and the Beautifly collapses to the ground-"

"At which point dis guy decides it's a great idea ta catch da vampire o' Cadaver Forest," Meowth interjected. "Cuz who wouldn't want a murderous bloodsuckin' Beautifly as a part o' da team?"

"So, yeah, I figured the best thing to do was to take the opportunity to make the forest a safer place," Keith said, ignoring Meowth's sarcasm. "So I threw a Great Ball at the Beautifly, and she wasn't able to break out. Once we were out of the forest, I sent her out to try and get things off on the right foot. I could tell she was hungry, so I offered her a bottle of O+ Miltank blood. I keep bottles of them around for my Crobat," he explained. "It's her favorite. And I was right about how hungry the Beautifly was, she gulped down all the blood in no time flat. Before I could suggest a nickname for her, she told Meowth her name was Fatale, and she had no intention of changing that, so I decided to respect that," Keith finished. "Meowth here never quite got over how she tried to kill him and drink his blood, and apparently she's still quite morbid, so there's that as well. Honestly, I'm just glad she's fine with listening to me. I can tell she's still not quite used to having a Trainer yet, but I usually have no problem getting her to listen to me."

"Key word bein' 'usually'," Meowth pointed out.

Soon, they arrived at the lake, but before long, Keith found himself watching a Rhyhorn come from out of nowhere and knock Rowan over. "Rowan, you OK?" Keith asked. Before he could offer to help Rowan up, however, Rowan got up by himself. The Rhyhorn, however, was friendly. What caught Keith's eye, however, was the oddly-colored Roggenrola who had been riding on the Rhyhorn. "Whoa," Keith murmured at the sight of the odd Roggenrola. Rowan introduced the Rhyhorn as Graw, mentioning that the Ground/Rock-type liked to run and crash into things and people, and the Roggenrola as Quad- apparently, Quad was made of Quartzite instead of whatever kind of rock was usual for Roggenrola, which made him harder and tougher than average. "Very cool," Keith nodded. "Quad kinda reminds me of Lenny, my Weavile- their colors aren't similar or anything, but Lenny's a different color than most Weavile. He's not Shiny, either- what's interesting is, he's the same color scheme that Sneasel used to have in the past, like he descended from a colony of Sneasel that never changed their colors along with the rest of their kind. I'd bring him out here, but being an Ice-type, I don't think he'd feel quite at home here, so have a look," he said, pulling up a picture of Lenny he had saved to his Xtransceiver and showing Rowan. The Weavile had dark brown fur and pale blue feathers.

After Rowan fed Graw a Poké Puff, he then offered to show Keith something cool. After impressively commanding Behemoth and Leviathan to rise, they did just that- a gigantic Steelix and Gyarados, one rising up out of the ground, the other up out of the lake. Keith's jaw dropped- they were both huge, even for their species. Leviathan, in particular, was much closer in size to Behemoth than a Gyarados ought to be to a Steelix. "...Holy crap," Keith murmured. He knew Rowan had a Steelix and a Gyarados, of course, but he hadn't known they were this huge! "Rowan, when you said Behemoth had done some growing, you weren't kidding!"

Back upstairs, Fae giggled at Chuck's words, but the subject turned a little more serious as it came to her fear of ghosts. Helena had helped her overcome her fear of ghosts. "Ah, OK," grinned Chuck. "Sounds like Helena, alright. She's actually evolved into Banette since the last time we were here. I don't believe Keith brought her, but if you asked him, I'm sure he'd bring her out for you." Fae went on to say that while she was still wary around ghosts, but reasoned that Chuck couldn't be that bad if she managed to get Rose as his girlfriend. Chuck took this opportunity to smile at Rose as Fae suggested Rose bring them to the bedroom, promising to give the couple their privacy. Now Rose had nodded and was looking at Chuck, as though to ask what he thought. "Lead the way, my love," Chuck smiled in response.

Lalu continues to jump around, “Great, I’ve discovered something at the other side of the cave here, I don’t know what it is but it talks and it’s weird and old and it just smells fishy. So let’s find out what it is!” And with that Lalu jumps off in the distance while shouting at Melittin to follow her. She skillfully dodges the rocks that litter the cavern floor as she jumps from stalagmite to stalagmite. “We’re getting there Mel! It’s just a bit further!”

It takes a little while to get through the entirety of the grand cavern that makes up this part of Rowan’s base, but eventually they get to a small indent in the wall. “Here it is!” Lalu exclaims, ”It has to be here somewhere.”

In the indent in the wall stand a small puddle of water, behind it a big crack in the wall is clearly visible. The area around it is quiet and it looks old, untouched by human hand. The floor around the indent is free from any obstacles however, and unlike the rest of the cave it has a sandy surface. In fact, some small vegetation has found a way to grow there. The vegetation looks unusual though, nothing like the plants that grow outside, and nothing like the collection of tropical plants in Rowan’s bedroom. These plants too look like they belong in a time long past.

”I can’t find it,” Lalu sounds disappointed, ”But it really was here.”

”Who?”

”Did you hear that Mel!?” Lalu turns around to the source of the voice. There in the crack in the wall an old face is visible. A tan-brown creature looks back at the Roggenrola and Beedrill, repeating its question, ”Who? Who was here?”

Lalu looks flabbergasted and isn’t as quick with her reply as she usually is, ”Uh, you?” she finally says. She then looks at Melittin and is immediately back to her normal self, ”That’s the thing I told you about! Poke it with a stinger and see what it does!”

Upstairs Rose answered Chuck’s ‘Lead the way’ by taking his hand and she gestures Fae to take her other hand which the Beautifly does. Of course walking to the elevator and going up that way is an option, but obviously Teleporting is a lot quicker and Rose is not in the mood to wait any longer to spend as much quality time with Chuck as possible. And so, only an instance later, the three of them find themselves in Rowan’s bedroom, where Fae and Rose also sleep.

”Thank you sweetie,” Fae excuses herself, ”I’ll just go keep my promise and leave you two to yourself. But please be careful with each other okay?” Once again Fae giggles, and with a graceful bow she flies off to take care of the flora, giving the loving couple the space and privacy they surely require.

Rose waves the friend goodbye and turns to the Gengar next to her. With Fae now off to the far side of the room, Rose drags Chuck to the corner of the room near the library. She looks him in the eyes and touches him on his chest. It’s still a bit of a strange sight to her, before she left Chuck was still a Haunter with hands big enough to cover her small body. Now Rose is grown, and Chuck has evolved, and even learned another evolution trick. It’s strange, but exiting at the same time as she touches her boyfriend again. A strong feeling of love engulfs her and she sends a big heart surrounded by flowers into Chucks mind. The image is detailed and vivid; two years of training her abilities in Hoenn did that. Rose then moves herself to the flowers close by, dragging Chuck with her by his hand, and uses her Psychic powers to pluck a beautiful asiatic lily flower from the pot. She holds it in her hand and smells it, the flower has a sweet yet mysterious scent to it. Rose likes the flower, the looks, the scent, it reminds her of Chuck who she now faces. She giver her boyfriend a kiss and places the flower behind the headband, right next to the Mega Stone that’s embedded in it, as a sign of the bond they share.

Much to Rowan’s enjoyment Keith is visibly impressed by his stunt and by his Pokémon.

“Impressive isn’t it?” Rowan says with a big smile on his face, “You have no idea how long it took me to train them to realize this growth, and more importantly, this level of control over them. Something like how your Beedrill and my Steelix got into a battle the first time won’t happen anymore. I think I have about full control over the both of them now.” Rowan sounds confident, and the look of respect and mutual understanding that he and his Pokémon exchange all but confirms that.

“It took a long time to get to this point though,” Rowan says as he walks back to Keith, Meowth, Graw and Quad.

The Roggenrola is trying to get on top of the Rhyhorn again, but he has trouble getting up there because Graw isn’t letting him, which Quad doesn’t take kindly. ”Get down you stone cow, I want to get out of here, and I sure as hell ain’t going to walk myself!”

”You’re a bully,” Graw replies calm, ”Taking a walk would be good for you.”

Unfortunately Quad doesn’t take being talked back to not kindly either, and Graw has hardly finished talking or he finds a Rock Blasting against his face. It’s a good thing the Rhyhorn is a tough Pokémon so the attack doesn’t bother him much, if any at all. Yet it yields exactly the result Quad was hoping for. Graw gives in and lowers himself just enough for the Roggenrola to be able to jump on top and ride him.

”Well, that wasn’t so hard now was it?” Quad says condescending, ”Just listen immediately next time will you? That saves us both a lot of time.” Graw hears him talk, growls a bit and chooses to be the better man and ignores him. ‘It is that we go the same direction, otherwise I’d kick him of immediately. He’s never going to fit in the group with that attitude.’ Graw thinks as he walks off with a still talking Roggenrola on his back.

Meanwhile Rowan has his attention with Keith and Meowth. “You know, if you’re interested, I’ll tell you about my time in Hoenn. I have quite some interesting stories to share.” He points at some rocks close by, they’re roughly carved out to resemble something of a chair. “I haven’t quite had the time to finished carving those out so they may not be the most comfortable seats you’ve ever had, but they do the trick. I’ve seen and done a lot so I think we should take a seat if you want to hear about it, it may take some time.” Rowan laughs.

Spoiler: show
“It’s been almost two years since I set foot on Hoenn soil. I had been called back home for an internship at Devon, a wish of my father. A lot has happened in that time and I haven’t quite told the details yet, so please allow me to do that now. Though rest assured, I’ll stick to the good bits.

When I first arrived at the my family’s estate next to the forests near Route 102 I had my first weird discovery, one of many I would have in my travels through the region. I was unpacking my suitcases and putting everything in its place in my room when I discovered something I had not put in them myself. Inside on the suitcases I found two Pokéballs of which I did know who they belonged to. They most certainly were not familiar to me, and my Pokémon had been accounted for. Not knowing who the real owner of the Pokéballs and the Pokémon inside them were I decided it would be best to call the Slateport docks the next morning, and the local police station, to see if any passenger had reported a missing Pokéball.

The next morning I make the calls and it turn out no-one on the ship to Hoenn had reported anything. No Pokémon or Pokéballs were missing with any of the other passengers. So I was at a loss of what to do next. Then I remembered all the Pokémon caught by a legitimate trainer get registered somewhere, my own are thus I thought that must go for the two I found too. And so I took the time to travel to Littleroot Town, thankfully Behemoth, my Steelix, makes travelling around a lot easier and quicker than making the whole trip by foot like I used to do when I was younger. When I arrived Professor Birch was already waiting for me as I had called him about my arrival. I could hear there was some anger in his voice when he spoke, I didn’t ask too much about it, but I assumed it was because I could be dealing with stolen Pokémon that somehow came into my possession. Or perhaps he thought I had something to do with it. In any case, it indeed proofed to be easy to locate the owner of the Pokéballs. The owner in question was I. Somehow, and I am still not quite sure how, I had caught two Pokémon I did not know of, but the Pokéball I had found were registered on my name and were supposedly housing a Dwebble and a Seviper. Perplexed as I was about the discovery I released the Pokémon who were indeed a Dwebble and a Seviper. The Dwebble though was, how do I say it politely, only wearing his Adam’s costume. He did not have the rock made shell their kind are known to have, nor did it attempt to make one once released. In fact, it looked rather wary at its surroundings and even more wary, scared almost, at the Seviper.

Of course Professor Birch was quite surprised it find out about this too. He asked if I could explain how this could happen, how I could have caught two Pokémon without knowing of it. The only explanation I could give him however was that I simply did not know, nothing happened with me in my time away from home that could explain the fact I had no memory of any event concerning the two Pokémon. The professor had another tool up his sleeve however, he realized he could also see how the Pokéballs came into my possession, and it turned out I had apparently traded for them. To this day I still do not know exactly who arranged the trades, but I do have a strong suspicion my Honchcrow is behind it all. Ever since I introduced the Dwebble and Seviper to the rest of my team, Corvus has been incredibly close with them, too close if you ask me, as if they already knew each other in some way. But I have to say, they give me very little to worry about and usually do they own thing as a group, of which I’m not quite sure what that is, but I’m fine with it. I can always call upon them when I need one of their specific set of skills, and I have my hands free to deal with Behemoth and Leviathan. Because I can tell you, I really did need my hands free for them at times.

Behemoth’s growth as a Pokémon, literally and figuratively, is a story in itself. Ever since I got him he has been a true hand full. He is aggressive, loves to fight and cares little for the consequences of it there where it concerns others. Personally, when I am alone with him, he usually does what I ask of him. It may be begrudgingly, but he does it, which is the reason why I can ride him during my travels. But I had a very tough time trying to get him to listen to me under normal circumstances without the help of my Magnemite to keep him in check. Magnet Pull truly is a great ability to have in that regard.

As part of my internship at the Devon Corporation I had to travel all over Hoenn in search of new mining sites for minerals and metals, as well as possibly find some fossils for Devon’s resurrection program. These travels brought me everywhere, but for Behemoth nothing was as life-changing as the time we had to go to the area around Lavaridge Town. Our basecamp for the research and digging was actually in the town, but that day I decided I wanted to see the volcano crater and the see the view over the surrounding area for myself. So I took a few Pokémon with me, got onto Behemoth and we made our way to the top of Mt. Chimney. We were on the Jagged Pass when the weather suddenly became bad, the sky got dark, clouds formed, and it didn’t take long before a torrential rain started. Frantically we looked for shelter, and thankfully we found that a short time later in a cave, it had to be somewhere in the middle of the route I guess. Completely wet as I was my first concern was to get dry and luckily I had Haykhong with me for that. But when there was some light in the cave, I noticed it wasn’t simply a cave. There was a path that led deeper into the mountain. Curious as I was, and seeing a possible pre-made mining site, I figured I might as explore the place more.

It didn’t take long for me to realize this place was more than just a cave with a pathway into, or through the mountain. I know my caves and grounds, and I know when something is natural or manmade, and this path was definitely altered by people. It looked natural, but it wasn’t quite so. Soon after we had to take a right turn I saw my feelings confirmed. Some old, rusted and broken machines lay piled up in a corner of the path, next to the entrance of what appeared to be another part of the cave. I remember I looked at Haykhong and Behemoth at that moment, they looked back at me also wondering if we were going to continue. Behemoth though growled and made it clear he wanted to go on, and so we went on to the next part of the cave system. This is where it became really clear this entire mountain had to have been used by people at some point in time. We found ourselves at the top of what was basically a steep slope down into the depths of the earth, complete with a half rotten and destroyed wooded staircase and several plateaus along the way down filled with more rusted and out-of-use machinery. I didn’t trust the stairs anymore given the condition they were in, so I made a torch out of the wood had Haykhong lit it before I returned him to his Pokéball. The fastest way down was on Behemoth’s back and Haykhong being a Fire-type I thought it best to return him. Besides, Slugma are slow so he wouldn’t have been able to keep up with Behemoth’s speed anyways.

Behemoth and I made our way down slowly, and I noticed it had become a warmer. But that wasn’t the only thing I started to notice at that time. We had come quite a far into the cave for my feeling, but not once has we encountered a Pokémon. You’d think a big cave like this in mountainside like that of Mt. Chimney would be filled with Zubat’s, Slugma’s, Geodude’s and who know what other kind or Fire, Rock and perhaps even Fighting and Poison types. But so far we hadn’t encountered anything, and by the time we reached the crossroad at the bottom of the slope that hadn’t changed a bit. Again though we had to make a choice, left, right or go back. We decided to go left and entered a hot and well-lit area. At this point pools of magma had formed so Behemoth and I had to be extremely careful. We wanted to go forwards, but then, the moment we moved, a loud roar filled the cave, shaking the ground around us and causing big rocks to fall down from the ceiling. Stalactites were dropping down left and right like a rain of arrows forcing me to jump off Behemoth to take shelter under his big head, or otherwise I might have been killed. Both of us knew we had to continue from that point to find out where this roaring sound came from.

We headed onwards and entered a big magma chamber. The temperatures were almost unbearably high, but there was nothing there besides more crushed, rusted, molten and otherwise destroyed machines. And no other way out than we way we came in. I took a moment to look around and investigate the magma chamber, but unfortunately that was to no avail. It was disappointing that there was no were to go but back, especially since there appeared to be no other use for the site as well. Any useful materials that may have been mined there at some point where all exhausted. It was then that once again we heard that same roar that brought the entire volcano to life. The ground trembled, parts of the ceiling collapsed and the big pool of magma in the room came up. I truly had never been as scared in my life as I was at that point. Being burned alive in a stream of lava because of an erupting volcano really is the stuff of nightmares in my profession. I urged Behemoth to go as quick as he could carry me, but he didn’t move. Scared as I was I hammered my fist on his metal body to get him to move, but Behemoth still didn’t move, he didn’t even acknowledge my presence at that time. All he did was staring right in front of him with a soft but angered growl rolling through his mouth. I turned around slowly, scared to think of what I might see, and looked straight at the face of a huge Pokémon. It had all kinds of glowing markings on him too. I took out my Pokédex and all it could say was; “Groudon, no further information known.” That alone told me enough, Behemoth and I stood face to face with one of Hoenn’s Legendary Trio.

I wanted to get the hell out of there, I know a bit of Hoenn Lore, and I knew a Steelix wouldn’t stand much of a chance against a beast like Groudon. Behemoth though didn’t seem to care, before I know it he had flicked a rock up in the air threw it at the Legendary Pokémon which didn’t do much besides starting a battle between the two. A battle on which I had little influence as Behemoth simply refused to listen to anything I would say. Something he’d come to learn too. Groudon answered Behemoth Rock Throw by letting the magma he was standing in explore into a Lava Plume that washed all over the field. Up until that point I had been standing on the ground and was lucky to avoid being hit so I made sure to get to higher ground and find a safer vantage point as the battle between the two Pokémon fully unleashed itself. Behemoth got hit by the brunt of the attack and suffered from it, and it also angered him into smashing his tail into the ground to lift an even bigger boulder using all his Strength to throw it as Groudon. This time the rock was big enough to actually do something against the beast and made him come out of the magma pool to continue the battle up-close and personal, coating his Arm in a white energy and Hammering it into Behemoth’s jaw which caused him to roar out on pain. At that point I could see this battle was going nowhere in Behemoth’s favor, but when I called him to stop and get out he just roared again and somehow summoned the strength and energy to surround his tail with streams of water to slam a powerful Aqua Tail into Groudon’s stomach. The beast grunted in pain also and stumbled back a bit, but it did nothing to stop it from attacking with even more devastating moves. Groudon started to glow ever so more brightly as if it had lava flowing through his markings and slammed his tail into the chamber’s floor to summon sharp, glowing spikes coated with lava from the ground. Behemoth did all he could to dodge them, but he couldn’t dodge them all, and every spike that hit him exploded on him in a painful blast of molten rock and lava. So far it hadn’t been a long battle, and it didn’t look like to would last much longer at that moment as Behemoth was near to collapsing.

At the time I was amazed he was still standing, albeit barely. And to my further surprise it wasn’t quite over yet either as Behemoth’s big head started to shine in a metallic grey color, right when Groudon covered his fist in flames. Behemoth then simply fell forward, too weak to actually move, and landed his big Iron Head on top of Groudon just as the Continent Pokémon planted his Fire Punch in the Steelix’ gut knocking him completely out at last. Groudon though wasn’t finished I started to panic a bit again as it looked as Groudon was planning on ending us rightly by creating a literal Eruption of the volcano. The beast roared victorious causing the chamber to tremble once again and making the magma rise. I had to think quick and returned Behemoth to his Pokéball and I ran for the exit, but right as I got there the opening collapsed locking me in. At that moment I really panicked while I was frantically looking around for another way out as the whole chamber shook around me. I truly thought that would be the end of me, but thankfully I saw an opening in a wall behind Groudon, one I hadn’t seen earlier. It was my only option, it was dangerous also, but if I stayed there I would die anyways so I didn’t really have a choice but to go for it. Luckily I had brought Graw with me too as usually do when going out to rocky terrain. A Rhyhorn is just a handy Pokémon to have in smaller caves where a Steelix can’t come without causing damage. So for the first time in my life I now had to do a Rhyhorn Race in literally a life and death race to the exit and out of the cave. I released Graw and got onto him as quickly as I could and told him to race to the exit I pointed towards as fast as he could. And so he did, but rock were still falling down to so Graw had to dodge the bigger ones and Rock Smash through the smaller ones to save time. To make things worse though Groudon also noticed us and slammed his tail on the ground which created a Fissure that traveled over to floor to follow us, so Graw had to run even harder to also stay in front that.

As you see, I’m here to tell the story, so we did make it through the opening and out of the chamber in time. After us that same opening collapsed again thanks to the fissure. And we found ourselves in completely manmade tunnel to the top, this one too had an old, rotten wooden staircase so to speed things up I had Graw use Rock Climb to the top to get out as fast as possible all the way till we were outside again. Once we got on the Jagged Pass again Graw and I just dropped in a patch of grass and laid there for I don’t know how long, we were just completely exhausted. Later, once I was back in the basecamp again, I found out no-one had seen or heard anything from the volcano and no activity was measured. To this day I haven’t told the exact details of what happened to many people, and you’re the first in here to know of it.

But the whole experience completely changed Behemoth. Never before had he been so comprehensively beaten and it left a big mark on him. Maybe not physically, but it did mentally. I noticed that a few days later with training. Behemoth is always one to just lay around doing nothing when he’s not fighting so I didn’t notice it earlier, but with that training session he completely lost it when Leviathan started to get the upper hand in their training battle. He went into a raging frenzy and started relentlessly attacking Leviathan with all kinds of attacks and he didn’t hear a thing anymore. Even Magnemite, who was quick to try and contain him with his Magnet Pull ability, got a few hits and it wasn’t till half the basecamp was destroyed before Magnemite had managed to exhaust Behemoth enough to finally drop to the floor and fall asleep. That was when I realized the full extent of the impact that encounter with Groudon had and I stayed with Behemoth the rest of the day and whole night. Just laying on top of him, looking up to sky and talking, talking about how we could become stronger. How he could become stronger, how I could become stronger, and how we all as a team could become stronger together. I know he wants to be the strongest Pokémon ever, but I told him that to be the strongest you have to live and train like there is always someone stronger than you, and that he has to learn to listen to those who want to help him. I also comforted him and promised to one day search for Groudon again and beat him then, together.

A day later I had Behemoth and Leviathan have a training battle again, and to my pleasant surprise Behemoth reacted quicker than I’m used to in following my orders, but again as soon as Leviathan only seemed to get the upper hand again he lost it and went into a frenzy again. Thankfully Magnemite was quick again and we managed to snap Behemoth out of it before any real damage was done. Obviously I have found a solution for that, but before I get to that story I tell you another story first. It’s the story of what happened with Leviathan in Hoenn, a story that started with my Pokédex calling him pathetic as a Magikarp and me promising him to make him as strong as Behemoth. Ever since he’s also become quite obsessed with becoming ever more powerful, and since his mysterious evolution into Gyarados that also comes with anger issues when he’s in a difficult situation. One like he faced in the waters of Sootopolis.

I had been sent there for research on fossils in the Cave of Origin after being granted special permission. And while I loved my research there, of course I had to take some time off to enjoy the other pleasures the city offers, such as its wide variety of water sports. I had decided I wanted to go deep-sea diving. I had come to the city riding Leviathan and I thought he would like to do something different for a change too. Gyarados are not meant to only swim across the surface of the water, they need the freedom to swim in the depths of the sea too, so that’s what I wanted to do with him. I prepared myself well that day, rented diving gear, a wasp knife just in case and I made sure we ate enough before we went out. But I could never have prepared for what happened that day.

I went out on the back of Leviathan, somewhere south-east on Route 126. I had my gear ready there and I went under together with Leviathan, exploring the sea and enjoying the wildlife underwater. We saw a lot of Pokémon there, I especially enjoyed seeing the Relicanth and we saw a blue one! We followed this special Relicanth for a while, it’s a Rock-type after all and I wanted to use this unique chance to learn something about this species. Soon after however, we heard a strange sound and Leviathan’s attention got drawn towards a cave. I could feel his tension just by looking at him and decided to let him lead me into the cave.

Once inside this underwater cave I could already see it could only lead to trouble. The cave was an exit of a waterway that led directly to a secluded beach close to yet another cave, but the fact that there was an old submarine anchored to beach was worrisome. Still Leviathan wanted to continue, and thus we entered the next cave. It opened up an old but complex system of caverns. Parts had caved in and created holes for light to pass through, making the whole place surprisingly light for an ‘indoor’ place. But it immediately became clear people had been there before. There was not a single sound of a Pokémon or any form of life, as if they had all been scared away, but more telling was the path that had been created in the sand that covered the floor. Footsteps were still visible. It seemed to be recent, but it didn’t stop Leviathan from continuing to follow his instincts. And thus I followed him.

The path quickly took us deeper into the cavern and the further we got the darker it became. I could see Leviathan got more and more difficulties getting forward. A Gyarados, while capable of it, if not meant to stay and move on land for long periods of time. It still didn’t stop him though, something called for him to keep going. I however also noticed the area showed more and more signs of life, similar to my experience at Mt. Chimney old machinery and tools appeared around us. When we entered yet another part of the cavern it became more apparent people had been here recently, where I think a sort of natural maze should have been, someone had drilled a pathway straight through the rocks and into the next section of the cave. Leviathan immediately went ahead, but something concerned me. I could see some stones were broken and moves recently, too recent. Ever since that moment I got the feeling someone was watching us, something that would proof to be true soon after.

In the next section Leviathan had something to be happy about again, an underground lake filled almost the entire room. It was apparent too that this room would lead to another water filled part of the cave system. Strong currents of water flowed towards a point on the other side of where we were. Leviathan went on so I had little choice but to get on top of him and let him and the water lead the way. The currents turned a lake into a river that led us deeper and deeper into this cavern. When the water slowed down we could get on land again and reached what turned out to be the deepest part. I could hear noises coming from further up and Leviathan followed the path that led us straight to the source of the sound.

And that’s where when we saw a true but terrifying spectacle. There was indeed someone else in the cave besides me, and that person stood at the edge of a relatively small lake. I remember him looking a bit like a pirate, he wore a blue bandana with something that resembled a Skull and Bones I think. He had a Mightyena standing next to him, and a strange looking Sharpedo, I learned it was a Mega-Sharpedo later, circled around in the water. He’s talking, chanting even. Then I saw something glowing and soon after something in the water started to glow too. Leviathan reacted to it too, he got visibly angry and roared out loud which immediately drew the attention of the man who wasted no time attacking us. He shouted we were too late, and ordered him Mightyena to use Take me Down. The Pokémon ran at me but without needing anything of an order of his own, Leviathan stepped in and blew the Mightyena away with a Powerful Hyper Beam. But that was only the start of what was to come.

Leviathan’s Hyper Beam had thankfully knocked the Mightyena out cold so we could get closer. But when I got close to the lake it was already too late to stop what was going on. The glow from the water was getting stronger and the water started to move, it became more and more violent and it seemed like something was rising, something from deep within the lake. The lights became brighter and with a flood wave of water washing over me a creature appeared. It looked angry with its shining eyes and strange shining markings. I quickly took out my Pokédex to see what it was as I had never seen any Pokémon like that before, but that didn’t help me much. All I got was a short message saying; “Kyogre, no further information known.”

Before I knew it though I found myself in a three way battle to the death, or at least it looked that way. The pirate started attacking Kyogre with his Sharpedo who bit the beast repeatedly, angering it even more, and it didn’t take long for Kyogre to attack back. But unfortunately it didn’t look at who it was attacking, and the Sharpedo didn’t seem to care either as it got into a Rage and hit Leviathan. Kyogre however didn’t waste any time using its power attacks. It dived under shortly before jumping out of the water and into the air surrounding itself with many blue orbs of light which quickly turned into energy beams that hit both the Sharpedo and Leviathan. In return to both their attacks, Leviathan summoned a huge wall of water and Surfed upon it as it swept over the lake, but it had little effect on either opponent. Sharpedo meanwhile had set its Poison Fang in Kyogre who Spouted Water all around it knocking Sharpedo off of it, while also hitting Leviathan in the process. The Sharpedo, obviously being a lot more battle hardened than my Gyarados, quickly got to its senses. Leviathan had more trouble with that, thus he found the Sharpedo’s Ice Fang in his tail before he had recovered. Only a second later Kyogre also Slammed its Body into the two.

At that point I could see Leviathan lose it. Not the battle, I mean lose himself. I saw a rage in his eyes and a lust for power take over his body. Leviathan let out a primal roar I had never heard before. It was loud, powerful, and simply fear-inducing. Then, with a tremendous display of Strength, Leviathan threw both Sharpedo and Kyogre off of him. Another roar followed, his eyes started to glow red as the aura that surrounded him. Leviathan had slipped into a complete Outrage and started Trashing around. Both Kyogre and Sharpedo get slapped, bitten and beaten up by the Atrocious Pokémon. It didn’t take long for the shark to collapse, but Kyogre proofed to be a much, much tougher opponent. Its body surrounded itself with an orb of purple energy with spiraling orange streaks as it fought back and repeatedly smashed itself into Leviathan, each hit resulting in a Giga Impact. More and more Leviathan lost control of himself, his eyes were glowing red in anger and his movements became wilder and wilder. I knew I had to do something, though I had no clue as to what would be best so I just started shouting at him, hoping to get through. Leviathan however didn’t react to my voice at all. He only roared loudly and angrily, and continued to battle Kyogre. Both beasts went at each other with incredible power, water slashed everywhere as they repeatedly collided and fell back into the water. It surprised me how much more strength Leviathan had, his rage had apparently unlocked some hidden potential, but Kyogre had more power than Leviathan still.

I kept shouting at Leviathan, I couldn’t reach him. His rage kept complete control of him and I realized the only thing that would get Leviathan back to his normal self would be the end of the battle, win or lose. That worried me too though, Leviathan is one of my most powerful Pokémon and I have no idea what kind of damage he could potentially to the rest of my team in a state like that. The red eyes, the aura, the roars and uncontrollable rage and power truly were a sight to behold, but a sight to be afraid of too. Kyogre however, with its own hidden powers unlocked, started to gain the upper hand over Leviathan. It didn’t surprise me, a Legendary Pokémon in full control of its strength versus a regular powerhouse Pokémon who completely lost grip of himself, it never really was a match in the long haul and it quickly became apparent that we were fighting a losing battle. The pirate had already packed up and I knew we should get out of there too. Kyogre simply is too strong for any normal Pokémon to take on and I had to be ready to step in the moment an opening arose to get myself and Leviathan out of there alive.

Soon after it happened, the trashing about in his outrage had exhausted Leviathan and exhausted him. It looked like he couldn’t even remember where he was anymore, let alone continue attacking. The fact Leviathan stopped attacking thankfully seemed to have calmed Kyogre somewhat too, I think it knew the battle was won at that point. I took the opportunity to jump in the water to try and reach my Pokémon. There was no other choice than to get Leviathan out of the lake myself, I never expected something like this to happen on a touristic scenery dive so I had left his Poké Ball in Sootopolis. Kyogre however didn’t take kindly to me entering the lake and it tried to attack me with its tail. I managed to avoid the first attempt by the skin of my teeth, but the second one, a slap from the side, hit me hard and slammed me straight into Leviathan. That must have gotten him back to his senses as he pulled me on his back and tried to attack Kyogre again, but I talked Leviathan out of using another Hyper Beam and instead get us to shore. Next thing I saw though was a huge wall of water heading our way. We got caught in it and it knocked me off of Leviathan. With water all around me and throwing me everywhere I really feared for my life. I have no idea how long I stayed under, but next thing I remember is that I woke up at the beach, Leviathan lay next to me, knocked out.

Then I hear a guy talking next to me. I turn around and see the pirate from before. He looked nervous and went on about how he couldn’t control Kyogre and that it shouldn’t have gone like that. Most of it sounded like gibberish to me really. But I figured he must have been the one getting me out of the cave so I thank him for saving my life and rescuing us, trying to get him to act normal. When that had succeeded I introduced myself and he introduced himself as Archibald. Then I asked what that whole scene was about and he told me the blue orb I saw earlier took control over him, or so he claimed. A whole story followed about a war long ago and something about a Team Aqua and Team Magma that once ruled in Hoenn. I still find that all a bit hard to believe, but he saved my life and I’m not one to judge too harshly. He redeemed himself; I’ll put it that way. He offered to get me back to Sootopolis, but I declined, I still had to take care of Leviathan so our ways separated. By the time Leviathan and I returned to Sootopolis more than a day had passes already, and I still hadn’t seen nor done much, but I was a whole experience richer.

There’s more though. I now had two Pokémon with anger issues to deal with and not just any Pokémon either, but my two most powerful Pokémon and I had only Magnemite to deal with them. Magnemite of course was trained just for that purpose, but I didn’t want to risk it having to deal with both of them in a rage at the same time. And that’s when I came up with an incredibly risky training method. I took my team and moved away for “research” to a secluded island somewhere off the coast of Pacifidlog Town and there I build a training pit specifically build for Behemoth and Leviathan. I had Graw and Behemoth dig huge parts off the cliffs surrounding the island and had Behemoth use the rubble to build a dam surrounding the area, cutting it off from the sea. It took over a month of hard work, but the end result was well worth it. A beautiful oval pit was created, almost a hundred meters across, the wall on the water side five meters thick and fifteen meters high, equaling the height of the cliff on the other side. Half of the oval filled with a rock surface, the other half filled with water. A perfect battlefield for Behemoth and Leviathan to fight and get their anger issues under control. Still, what I had in mind was risky. I knew that fighting a losing battle was a trigger for both of them to get into a rage, and I planned to have Behemoth and Leviathan train and fight with each other to simulate just that. My reasoning was that by fighting each other one of them would end up in a rage eventually. Magnemite would be ready to contain them when that happened and I would step in to calm them down and teach them to control that rage so they could use the power it provides them without any of the drawback. That process in itself took a long time however, and I had to return back to Rustboro City for work and to report on any new findings at the Devon Corporation. At those moments that I had to leave the island, I had decided to leave Behemoth and Leviathan behind. I knew it would be a risk, but I was willing to take it. I had faith in them to improve themselves, and that’s just what they did.

I think it was close to three or four months, already close to the end of the second year, that I had left them behind on the island. For all that time they had to live together and work together so survive the sometimes harsh conditions and stormy weather. When I returned to the island at the end of that period in Rustboro I couldn’t find them near the pit we had built, and I could see the entire island had changed. A storm must have passed over it as almost all the trees had been flattened and most of the pit wall had collapsed too. I went down there and discovered a hole in the cliff, Behemoth had dug a tunnel. So I stepped inside, shouted “Behemoth!” real loud, and what happened next I’ll never forget. The floor started trembling as if an earthquake was about to happen, a loud roar followed, and right in front of me a giant metallic snake shot through the ground and straight up into the ceiling, another loud roar and behind me the walls crumbled down. I turn around and look right into the eyes of a gigantic Steelix. I stumbled backwards in shock and surprise, fell on my bottom too, but I recognized behemoth. He just had grown so much. Together we got outside and I asked Behemoth about Leviathan, or rather I wanted to. The moment I had his name on my lips a huge column of water blasted into the air and came raining down upon us. I looked up, and there was Leviathan already, who to my shock had grown even more. Steelix and Gyarados are already large Pokémon, but when I saw Behemoth and Leviathan together my jaw truly fell on the ground.

I examined the island in the days after that event and found a whole system of tunnels that Behemoth must have dug out, some filled with seawater to allow Leviathan inside. In months they’d been there on their own, they really had made the island their home. My gamble had paid off, they had worked together to survive there and dealt with their anger issues in the process. When I arrived in Hoenn Behemoth and Leviathan would fight each other at every opportunity, but now they had learned to trust each other and work as a team to accomplish a mutual goal.

And those were my stories of Hoenn. I know it was a bit long and maybe a bit boring at times, but these stories mean a lot to me. They represent the growth my Pokémon went through in the past two years and how things have changed in that time. Maybe I’ve been talking mostly to myself in the past few minutes, but thank you for being here with me.”

Melittin listened as Lalu described something old she'd discovered at the end of the cave, and with a grin, flew off after her. Lalu, he could tell, hadn't changed a bit, which was just fine by him.

After a while, Lalu had led Melittin to a little puddle of water, situated in an indent in the cave wall. There was a small crack in the wall behind the puddle, and the surrounding floor was sandy. In this sandy terrain was growing all sorts of odd-looking plants. Almost as though they were from another time period. Which got Melittin remembering a certain other adventure he and Lalu had been through, also involving a cave, ancient vegetation, and a strange, ancient talking something. "This isn't another crystal Kabutops, is it?" he jokingly asked Lalu, though he really hoped it wasn't another repeat of that.

However, initially it didn't seem as though he'd get to find out, since whatever Lalu had found didn't seem to be here anymore. This, however, soon changed, with the appearance of an ancient face emerging from the crack in the wall. Lalu exclaimed that this was what she'd been talking about, and at her request, Melittin nodded. "I dunno about poking it just yet, but I'll check it out, for sure," he stated. He flew in closer. "Who are you?" he asked.

Rose had two options. One was to walk the whole way to the room, including taking the elevator. The other was to simply Teleport them all there, which she was both willing and able to do, as Chuck soon found out. After Fae left them alone to tend to the plants in the room, Rose pulled Chuck over to another corner of the room- well, more like led him there, considering Chuck's complete willingness to accompany her. Once in said corner, they looked into each other's eyes. Not a word was spoken, not even by the one able to speak. To say they had missed each other would be an understatement. As Rose touched the Gengar's chest, Chuck put her arms around the Kirlia he so loved. And then, Chuck could see it- a beautifully detailed image sent into his mind, an image of a big heart surrounded by flowers. Chuck's smile widened- it was beautiful. Rose really had been working on this, and the love she had for Chuck really showed. "I love you, too," he finally spoke up.

At that moment, Rose then led Chuck to the nearby flowers. Using Psychic, she picked a remarkably beautiful flower. She took the time to smell it, and Chuck could tell she liked the flower a lot. And as Chuck looked at the flower himself, he had an idea why- the shades of purple, pink, and red the flower so brilliantly showed off, they sort of made Chuck think of... well, of himself, of his own color scheme, particularly when he Mega Evolved. Rose then gave Chuck a kiss, before tucking the flower into Chuck's headband, right beside the Gengarite. Chuck smiled at this. In fact, he adjusted it so the flower was even closer to the Gengarite. Then his eyes fell back onto Rose. "Thank you," he smiled. "It's... I love it, Rose." He then glanced at the floor, and if Rose followed his gaze, she'd see why; the shadows she and Chuck were casting were starting to act on their own. The Gengar and Kirlia shadows were embracing each other- and then the shadows split into what looked like hundreds of tiny fragments of shadow, each and every fragment forming into the shape of a heart. The heart shadows then started to circle the floor around Rose and Chuck. Chuck was pretty pleased with this- ever since evolving from Haunter, he'd discovered a talent for manipulating shadows. Sometimes he'd use this power to startle others for a laugh. Sometimes he'd use this power simply to show off. But right now, he was using this power to try and convey the love he felt for Rose, the love he struggled to accurately convey with words, even with the luxury of being able to convey things with words in the first place.

"Very impressive," Keith agreed, nodding at Rowan's words. "I can't even imagine how long this must have taken." Rowan went on to explain that an incident such as Melittin and Behemoth's first battle wouldn't happen again- he had more or less total control over both the Gyarados and the Steelix. "Very impressive," Keith repeated. He felt a great deal of respect for Rowan at this moment. He remembered how unruly Behemoth used to be. Seeing this made him think back to when he first got Hedwig, back when she was a bitter, jaded Zubat who hated humans, made him think just how far she's come since then- how far Keith helped her come as her Trainer. It was by no means an easy effort, but it was more than worth it, Keith knew.

As the Rhyhorn and the unusually-colored Roggenrola quibbled in the background, Rowan offered to share his stories about his time in Hoenn. "Sure, I'd love to hear it," Keith agreed, sitting on one of the carved rocks. Meowth continued to sit on Keith's shoulder, and Rowan began his story. First, he told of how he came to realize he was the owner of a Dwebble and a Seviper, seemingly thanks to the dubious dealings of his Honchkrow. The Dwebble hadn't had a rock carved for it yet, and seemed very scared of the Seviper, and Rowan found it almost disturbing how well the Seviper got along with his Honchkrow.

Rowan then told of what went on with Behemoth. Keith's interest was piqued as Rowan stated he had to travel to the area around Lavaridge Town, even setting up base camp in the town itself- Rowan had been right in Keith's hometown. He found it very easy to picture what Rowan was detailing as he talked about the sudden bad weather on Mt. Chimney. "Yeah, that can happen a lot near Mt. Chimney," he nodded. "I would know- spent half my childhood playing on the Jagged Pass." The cave Rowan spoke of, however, was unfamiliar to Keith. He knew, of course, of the Fiery Path (hard to forget the cave where he first met his Weezing!), but he'd never noticed a cave entrance anywhere on the Jagged Pass in his youth, and nodded as Rowan stated that the cave had to have been manmade, or at least heavily altered by man. Rowan stated that though he'd come to the conclusion almost right away, he'd then stumbled upon old, rusted machinery which only further confirmed what he'd already worked out. Moreover, the place had been devoid of any wild Pokémon one might encounter in a cave built into Mt. Chimney. Keith nodded- he knew very well what kinds of Pokémon one might reasonably expect to see in such a cave, as did his Weezing, Dusknoir, and Gengar.

By the time Rowan got to the part where he'd encountered Groudon, Kyle had caught up with them. The Heatmor sounded fascinated by the tale Rowan was telling, and sat beside Keith to hear it. They were amazed that Behemoth had the gall to take on a beast like Groudon, despite a clear and obvious disadvantage. But then, Behemoth always had been one for battling, Keith knew. His past willingness to pick fights at but the flimsiest of excuses showed this quite well. It almost reminded Keith of how his Drapion used to be, back in the Skorupi stage. Scorpius always had that thirst for battle he has today, but when he was younger, he would want to challenge literally anything and anyone to battle. In fact, if Myrtle's translations of the young Skorupi's words were to be believed, the words "I want to battle the Dragonite! I WANT TO BATTLE THE DRAGONITE!!!" were practically his catchphrase. Keith supposed Behemoth was the same way, and in this case, found himself quite as outmatched as a young, unevolved Skorupi would be against a Dragonite. Indeed, the Steelix had been delivered a brutal defeat, forcing Rowan to try and escape the cave with his life. He'd withdrawn his Steelix, and had to ride his Rhyhorn out. This vividly reminded Keith of the similar situation he faced during that cave-in in Mt. Aduro, when he had to ride out on the Tauros he used to own. It was a thrilling tale, though as Rowan was obviously present to tell it, Keith could reasonably guess as to whether he'd managed to make it out with his life.

Following this narrow escape, Rowan had noticed a change in Behemoth- this had been the Steelix's first real loss, and it had a real effect on him. During a training battle against Rowan's Gyarados, Behemoth had gone into a frenzy, and was so determined to gain the upper hand he wound up destroying half the base camp. Keith listened as Rowan told of his efforts to help Behemoth. He got through to the Steelix, got him to respond more quickly to his orders, to cooperate with him, but he still went into a frenzy whenever his opponent seemed to get the upper hand. And then, Rowan moved on to talking about Leviathan, his Gyarados, claiming it a necessity to tell that story first. He was quite like Behemoth in that he sought to become stronger, and was prone to anger issues when in a tight spot, with one such tight spot occurring not far from Sootopolis City. Keith had only ever heard of Sootopolis City, though knew it to be a city contained entirely within a large crater, effectively isolating the city from the rest of the region. It was said that Sootopolis could only be entered by flying in or through an underwater tunnel.

Anyhow, Rowan explained how he was swimming with Leviathan, how they saw a number of Relicanth, one of which was even blue, and how they came across an underwater cave. It led them to dry land, albeit still inside the cave, and the presence of an old submarine, as well as manmade shortcuts right through what ought to have been a natural maze, none of that boded well as far as Rowan was concerned. And sure enough, Keith, Meowth, and Kyle all looked very surprised as Rowan recounted his encounter with the legendary Kyogre, and a pirate-like man who attacked him. This resulted in a three-way battle between Kyogre, Leviathan, and the man's Pokémon, which included a Mightyena and a Sharpedo that could Mega Evolve. Just as with Behemoth's battle against Groudon, Leviathan lost control, started attacking wildly. The man's Pokémon were no match, but Kyogre was a whole other swarm of Yanma. But alas, despite the immense power Leviathan displayed, he was very much like Behemoth in that he lost to the legendary. Some wall of water had knocked Rowan off of Leviathan at one point, with wild currents throwing him every which way, and the next thing he knew, he awoke on the beach, with Leviathan lying unconscious beside him. The pirate had been there before as well, and despite his earlier actions, he had in fact saved them. Rowan had returned to Sootopolis following that, and then he came to the part of the story he'd been getting at earlier- a way to help Behemoth and Leviathan train. He spoke of a secluded island off the coast of Pacifidlog, where he'd set up a large pit for the Steelix and Gyarados to train in. However, he was forced to leave them both there when he had to return to Rustboro for his work, and after several months, he returned to find the island changed completely. As he soon discovered, the Steelix and Gyarados had not only survived on the island, they had thrived. They worked together, worked through their anger issues, undergone a lot of training, came to trust one another, and in the process, got really, really big.

"Wow," Keith remarked once Rowan had concluded his tale. "Hey, don't sweat it, I've probably told longer and more boring stories myself that mean just as much to me," he added with a grin. "Nah, it was cool to hear how all that happened. Though I've never seen a cave on the Jagged Pass before, and I must have climbed every square inch of that path when I was a kid, so yeah, that cave must've been manmade. Or at least the entrance to it. But man- I've heard stories that Groudon sleeps deep within a volcano, but I never honestly thought it would be Mt. Chimney!"

"Dat's pretty incredible," Meowth agreed. "Youse grew up in Lavaridge, ain't ya? Youse was livin' within walkin' distince o' da legendary Groudon yer whole childhood!"

"It's mind-blowing," Keith agreed. "What that Archibald guy was saying, though- I have heard of Team Magma and Team Aqua. These two rival gangs that I heard operated in the Hoenn region, though I'd never really seen any members of either team when I was younger. But yeah- near as I'd ever known, Team Magma sought to expand the landmass, and Team Aqua was all about expanding the oceans. And I did hear they sought the power of Hoenn's legendary Pokémon to achieve their goals, too.

"Heatmor mor," Kyle remarked. "Mor Heatmor, heat Heatmor!"

"Kyle's sayin' he ain't found yer story borin' at all," Meowth translated. "He's sayin' he hopes Behemoth and Leviathan both get deir chances fer rematches someday, and dat dey both win."

"What a way to greet an old man," the ancient looking fish sounds grumpy and slowly moves away from the crack in the wall and into the small puddle, "Devonian is the name, and you young lady have been acting very rude. They just don't raise kids like they used to anymore these days. It's exactly why I like to stay deep below the surface," Devonian complains, "Now get off my lawn." The Relicanth then proceeds to slowly push himself out of the water and fires a Water Gun at both Melittin and Lalu, albeit in such a weak form that it doesn't even bother Lalu one bit.

"Hope you rascals learned your lesson," Devonian still sounds grumpy, but there's a faint smile on his face, "Now what do you young people bother an old man for here?"

"Uhm.. uh, I.. uhm," Lalu stutters, not quite knowing how to deal with someone so old being so direct, but then she remembers Melittin's comment from earlier, "We were just looking for the Crystal Kabutops and..."

"Do those things still walk around freely!?" Devonian interrupts angrily, "Kabutops, those loathful Pokémon, I remember it like it was yesterday that me and my brothers had to swim for our lives while those monsters hunted us down. I lost half my family to those things! I'd eat them all! If I had teeth that is though," he finishes at a light note. "And you," Devonian turns to Melittin, "What is a Pokémon like you doing all the way down here? Even a blind rock can see you're a surface dweller"

Rose enjoys the shadow play that Chuck orchestrates for her, the dancing images of her and the Gengar, they perfectly tell the story of their love. A story told in images rather than in words. Rose knows exactly how Chuck feels, she feels it too. Though for someone unable to speak, images too only tell half the story. She rests her head against the chest of the man she loves and watches the shadows move around to form a beautiful display of hearts. Then, when the shadows return to their original shape, Rose turns to face Chuck, looks him in his eyes, and with a blush on her face she kisses him on his lips. Many thoughts race through Rose her mind for the time they are connected, she wishes there was more she could do to tell Chuck how he makes her feel, that she could tell what she feels for him, that she was more mature, that this romantic embrace could last forever. But for a moment that only lasts seconds, it feels like an eternity already in the arms of a loved one. When their lips finally part, Rose still has a blush on her cheeks, and hearts in her eyes as proven by the way she looks at Chuck. Her eyes sparkle with love.

"Thanks Keith, Kyle, Meowth," Rowan is relieved and happy they actually listened to his story, "And I too hope they will get their chance at a rematch. If that will ever happen, I will at least be able to guide them too so we can hopefully achieve that victory together." Rowan then comes back to the point Keith made about Team Aqua and Magma, "What you're saying about Aqua and Magma though Keith, in my youth I have never nor even heard much about them either. I remember my father once having told a story about Aqua running rampant in Lilycove, but that was all a long time ago, before my time. I do hope it stays with that episode from the past though. I absolutely love land and rocks, but I don't need to change the world for it, " he laughs and changes the topic, "There's something else I'd like to show you by the way, but it's back upstairs so I don't know, do you want to back again or is there something here you'd like to see first? I don't mind either way, so I leave it up to you to decide."

The ancient face soon proved to be attached to an equally ancient body- a Relicanth, who went by the name of Devonian, and was not a fan of Lalu's manners. He sprayed Melittin and Lalu with a Water Gun, albeit such a weak Water Gun that not even Lalu was bothered by it. It quickly became apparent that Devonian intended absolutely no harm to either one of them, which indeed was the only reason Melittin did not start take the Water Gun as an invitation to fight back. Following a brief rant about Kabutops, Devonian turned to Melittin, asking what he was doing in this cave, considering he was so clearly a "surface dweller".

"I'm visiting Lalu here," Melittin replied, gesturing to the Roggenrola. "She's my friend."

Chuck smiled- it was clear that the display he put on for Rose was very much to her liking. And when it was over, the two of them shared a kiss. It only lasted several seconds, but Chuck relished every moment of it. There were no words, he thought, that could even begin to convey what he felt for Rose. Yeah, sure, there was "love", but did that really do justice to how he felt? As he lovingly looked at Rose, he tried to think of words that would be sufficient to convey his feelings, but couldn't think of any. Even after the kiss ended, he held Rose close to him, returned her look of love with one of his own, hoping that this look could say what words could not.

Rowan thanked his guests for hearing him out, then after mentioning about how his father told a story about a Team Aqua running rampant in Lilycove once, changed the subject- evidently he had something else he wanted to show Keith, though as it was back upstairs, he left the decision up to Keith as to whether he wanted to go see it or stay down here for the time being.

Keith and Meowth exchanged looks. "What do you think?" Keith asked Meowth.

"I tink I'm gonna be wonderin' wat it is until we gets up dere, so why not?" replied Meowth.

"Makes sense," agreed Keith. "Alright, yeah, we'll go and see," he added to Rowan.
