Kids React to Pokémon

So you've seen the Game Boy video. Now behold the Pokémon one.

Kids React is hilarious! I love to watch them when I'm bored.

You're one of those people who comments on YouTube videos before watching or finishing the actual video.

As I remarked to BPK, what was most shocking is that these girls who look like they're in their late teens casually drop they were born in 2002/2003.

What are they feeding these kids today.

Growth hormone?

Personally I can't stand the kids react to series. People of all ages have different knowledge and expertise. I know middle school kids that have played Nintendo (NES) before. These just come off as so phony to me.

Hyrule is a very safe place when protected. I know that you may have been duped, but why would you even post this stuff about kids?

The gap between the US release of Red and Blue and the US release of ORAS is about sixteen years -- or longer than I'm thinking you've been alive.

It is sixteen years-my birthdate is situated mere days from the US release of R/B, as it happens (I recall it being mid September, and definitely a 1-something date). Just remember that I'm going to be old enough to vote in 2016's election.

So, I watched this. The wrong pronunciation of the title made me cringe at every turn. As did hearing "the original Emerald". That said, I am glad most seemed to recognise the series and franchise. I mean, I can't really expect them to really respect the original Red and Blue (or as far back as Japanese Red and Green), which, while great games for the time, are pretty damn dated now.

Are children really playing FNAF these days? Yikes

- The scary realization that kids born in 1997 are now 18 year olds and legal adults.

- The scary realization that 2005-2006 is literally an entire decade ago now, rather than just "a few years ago."

- The scary realization that Diamond/Pearl, the 4th generation...will be a decade old by September of this year.

My god, is it just me or has time been flying since like 2005-2006 or so? I feel like I'm permanently stuck in the early/mid 2000's or so and don't realize time is passing by all around me.

And remember that my parents finally got over the pole in their butts and allowed me to get Pearl when I was eight or so-meaning that when D/P hit their tenth, I'll be hitting the same for being into the game, thereabouts.

What I find funny is that I've been into the games since 3 because I was one heck of a three year old who could complete Pokemon Red on an emulator yet get stuck on Yellow's Victory Road.

Anyway, the first legit game was Sapphire which is the same as my birthstone, meaning I've been in since the start of R/S.

Not to mention, I'm only 17 turning 18 this year.

I got Diamond for like, my tenth(?) birthday, Pearl when I lost my (rather badly done) Diamond save, and Platinum the next summer. So even then, I think it might be next year for my '10 years of being into Pokemon'.

It always strikes me a bit strange of the younger pokemon fans who missed the fad era of 1998-2002, and never got to see Pokemon when it was a huge phenomenon outside of just the games/anime, etc. Like Pokemon was literally everywhere in 1998-2000 especially, you couldn't escape it.

It really was a once in a lifetime thing.

See, I was at the right age at the right time (it was HUGE in Gen 3, especially among second/third graders, at my school). But once I was finally into it, we had passed into the age group that thinks of it as a game babies play.
