Sibling Character Topic
Ok so I've been thinking about this for a while, how the sibling thing in Pokemon confuses me:
May and Max don't look anything like each other; yet Clemont and Bonnie have the same blonde hair and blue eyes and such. Just thinking about it....

Can you please stop creating separate topics for every little animé topic? Siblings looking alike is really not an interesting enough thing to have its own thread.
Siblings can differ. May looks vaguely like her mother. Max looks basically like Wally crossed with Norman. |

I don't mind all the topics. Not like there's much activity otherwise.
A lot of anime characters don't look related. It's a way to have important characters look different. |

Siblings looking different is actually somewhat common in real life, especially among people of mixed heritage. So I'm not as bothered by it when it happens in anime or cartoons (although I'm less likely to put two and two together, but that's not an issue), although I agree with Kuno that it makes it easier to distinguish important characters from each other.

I know a set of fraternal triplets where one is more than head and shoulders taller than the other two. Siblings need not look too much alike.

I've liked all of pokemon's attempts at sibling characters in all honesty, I feel the relationship adds more depth and allows the characters more options to express their personality and experience growth throughout the story.
Max & Bonnie are honestly among my favorite pokemon characters because of the support they've provided their respective sibling characters. Plus Bonnie basically being a reverse Brock with Clemont is frankly hilarious. Also, Kush stop being such a sour puss :p

If you noticed May looks like her mother, while Max looks more like Norman.
There's also the fact that May's entire family are based on the game designs from R/S, so the anime didn't change their designs much. Max is based on the schoolboy sprite from the games, May, her mother and Norman all share their designs with the game counterparts. |

That's interesting. I never knew.
I love Clemont and Bonnie. They're just so cute. For some reason I like people with blondish hair (Serena has honey blonde hair, for example).
