(From what I've heard, this should still be ok. If it is not, feel free to let me know and I'll forfeit the fluffy snow fox)

As my first shop activity since my leave, I shall pick up this adorable one and place her in this Luxury Ball. :)

Ready for Sticky, Slime-Covered Cheer? Your Favorite Springtide Icon is Here~!

It was the natural order of things, really, that Winter would always give way to Spring. Even the Isle of Always Winter could not truly live up to its name, as the mysterious Springtime Pyukumuku and the band of fearless trainers who supported its efforts had proven. Though the Hatchery Attendant was no trainer, and far too wrapped up in her duties to have been any use on the field, the cascade of trainers carrying in eggs and sharing stories of their conquest almost made her feel as though she had been among them. The smell of flowers and fruits from Springtide Isle still clung to the clothes of these trainers, to the shells of the eggs they carried, and they brought all the brightness and sunshine of that realm along with them... But at the end of the day, bits of Winter still clung in the depths of Miss Lulu's heart. The eggs were not hers - they would never be hers - and though she would be surrounded by more than twenty wonderful little ones in seven days, all full of mischief and mayhem, she would mourn every one as they left. Though she would never admit it, she could understand the motivations of a lonely Snorlax King in a land where nothing grew and life did not flourish, desperately stealing that which he could not have for himself... but Miss Lulu could never do such a thing. She shakes her head sadly, chastising herself for being selfish.

That evening, Miss Lulu had decided to take a walk on the Hatchery grounds to take in a breath of fresh air and prepare herself for the week to come. As she pushed open the lobby doors, she noticed the bottoms of her shoes sticking in something... a trail of slime. She could not tell exactly where it started, as it extended all the way down the path and far into the distant country, but it seemed to stop somewhere inside the lobby. At the time, Miss Lulu shrugged her shoulders, chalked it up to some kind of leak in one of the incubation machines that the Hatchery was renting in order to accommodate the number of eggs anticipated to arrive the next day, and thought no more about it.

If something odd was going on in the Hatchery after that inexplicable event, it would have been easy for Miss Lulu to overlook it. Perhaps there were more subtle signs of the mysterious intruder that the Hatchery Attendant might have noticed had she not been overwhelmed by the sheer number of tasks ahead of her which needed to be done. The one thing Miss Lulu could not overlook, however, was the sound... A strange noise, which would catch Miss Lulu's ear in the midst of all the hustle and bustle in the Hatchery. It was faint, at first, but louder as the week progressed. It sounded like it might be laughter, but not from any human she had ever heard. Miss Lulu had thought at first that perhaps a powerful fledgling psychic or ghost type could have found its way into the massive clutch of eggs which she now tended - such a being could cause all kinds of strange happenings in the Hatchery, including disembodied laughter. After investigating, however, Miss Lulu concluded that the ghostly surprise hiding within a fire egg seemed more intent on plotting her mischief quietly, while the fairy egg housing a baby psychic emitted only the occasional impression of bright colors and the persistent emotional energy that the world was a place of endless possibility. Miss Lulu did rather like being around that egg in particular, for that reason, but she could never stay for long. In truth, there was no time to dwell on the mystery, either. There were eggs to tend to, after all, and even with Dr. Newman supporting the efforts, Miss Lulu felt it was her personal responsibility to make sure that each and every baby was loved and cared for in their first few moments of life. It was the focus of her work, after all!

Seven days after the arrival of the Springtide warriors, Miss Lulu knew the first of many eggs would be due to hatch. Expecting the familiar ding of the Incubation Unit, the Hatchery Attendant is instead greeted by the now-familiar noise, only louder and more distinct than it had ever been in the past:

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

There was no mistaking it, now - something had broken into the Hatchery, and Miss Lulu, eager to discover the identity of this interloper, rushes into the Incubation Room, eager to face them and discern their purpose. Not that Miss Lulu was a particularly brave person in most circumstances, but when it came to the babies, she was willing to set fear aside.

The first of the babies awaited - a small bug type whose antennae wiggled with recognition upon Miss Lulu's entry. It struck the Hatchery Attendant as odd that the baby seemed clear of her egg so quickly, looking fresh, clean and fed - fed? Indeed, in the creature's little, brown claws, a giant root was cradled - a species that Miss Lulu did not recognize, but which smelled of the earth and of Spring. The baby eagerly nibbled on the treat, contentment somehow clear even in the blind eyes of this insect. Her small green wings flutter, as if she feels so good that she could take flight - though it would take time for the little one to develop enough to take to the air, Miss Lulu almost believed that she could, in that moment. But where had that treat come from?

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

The sound again, and a second baby waiting. The source of the laughter was nowhere to be found, but the sound is quickly replaced by the smacking of scales by the small, yet fierce dragon who had just emerged into the world. Red eyes gleam with eagerness to fight, and the rhythm and force of the tapping suggests vitality and pride. The scaly Pokemon seems to be performing for someone standing directly behind Miss Lulu, but when she turns around, there is no one to be found...

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

The scent of cherry blossoms fills the air, and Miss Lulu is transported to a memory she was not quite sure was even hers - an avenue dusted in pink petals, a young man with steel-blue eyes gently lifting her chin with his fingers, whispered words - she anticipated the feeling of his lips on hers, but the moment never came. Instead, a curious pink Pokemon flew up to Miss Lulu, head tilted in confusion at her puckered lips and closed eyes. Miss Lulu snaps out of the memory, flush with embarrassment, as the perfumed fairy type giggles in amusement. The scent shifts from cherry blossoms to the strange and unusual flowers that bloom only on Springtide Isle, and Miss Lulu can almost picture the lands which the little ones came from -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~
A spray of water splashes past Miss Lulu's face, and she faces the fourth baby, who appears to have been freshly sprayed with ocean water. The scent of the waves inspires the fairy in the room to match the scent, and Miss Lulu can't help but feel as if she's been plunged underwater. The Brutal Star Pokemon grins as he splashes about in the puddle of ocean water left behind... but by what? Eggs of his species typically did not hold much water - Miss Lulu knew - so who had seen fit to provide the Pokemon with much-needed moisture?

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~
What could be a more fitting Pokemon from the Springtide Isle than a baby seed? The baby smiles at Miss Lulu as if the entire world is made of sunshine, his dark eyes practically glowing. Beside him, a small cup of dew has been left, and the baby eagerly drinks it. Miss Lulu can't help but smile at the happiness radiating from the young one, but a bit of unpleasantness plays at the back of her mind - it was her job to tend to the babies - to give them their first meals - did someone not trust her with that duty? And what was the source of this maddening sound? Was Dr. Newman messing with her? It didn't seem like the good doctor to behave like -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

A pink dog-like Pokemon with a gruff expression offers Miss Lulu as much of a grin as she can muster, growling contentedly and showing off her freshly brushed fur. Someone had taken great care to make the little pup look presentable, and she seemed eager to show everyone how great she looked fresh out of the egg. How these things were happening outside Miss Lulu's notice was beyond the Hatchery Attendant's comprehension, but with six babies already born and mulling about, she knew that she could only be more and more distracted. The Fairy Pokemon, sniffing the air, barks in what appears to be a random direction, but out of the corner of Miss Lulu's eye, a flash of black, with a bit of magenta and white, followed by the familiar sound:

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

Another dragon had been born into the world, though this little lady had a bit of darkness in her heart. It was hard to believe such a thing of this lovely girl, though, especially when she was chewing so contentedly on a thick piece of tough bark from a tree native to the Springtide Isles. Gnawing happily on the sweet, earthy offering, the Irate Pokemon didn't seem so scary... for now, anyway. It was hard to read her face with her eyes so thoroughly covered, but the head of the little beast tilted in an odd direction, and Miss Lulu was starting to realize that, even if she could not see the mysterious intruder, the babies seemed to know, and possibly could offer some clues on their location -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

Another flash in the corner of Miss Lulu's eye, and a pair of babies awaited her, seeming already to have bonded as friends, despite the unlikely pairing of species. A large, buffalo-like creature with impressive hair, and a tiny, fiery larva, who had already saw fit to use the buffalo's hair as a makeshift nest. Someone had saw fit to wet the normal-type's hair a bit, to prevent it from setting on fire and ensure the pair could share this moment of closeness... but who? Who? The baby Torch is already falling asleep in his new nest, but the Bash Buffalo's eyes are following something as it moves behind Miss Lulu...

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

A cotton ball of yellow fluff bleats joyfully upon being seen by Miss Lulu. The baby's clingy, static-laden wool adorned with lovely Springtide daisies. The little boy sheep looks positively gleeful to have been covered with such wonderfully-smelling flowers, and waddles over to the Hatchery Attendant so that she may have a better look and catch the scent more easily. She pats the little sheep-like Pokemon on the head, giggling a bit at the tingle of static running through her fingers. Deep, soulful brown eyes scan the room, as if searching for something... Miss Lulu watches the baby carefully, until his eyes land on a far corner, and Miss Lulu whips around -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

A moment too late! Miss Lulu was never one to curse, of course, but a minced oath issues darkly from the back of her throat. A moment too late to catch the intruder, but not too late to witness the only ice type of the bunch taking her first steps. Though one would think an ice type out of place in this batch of Springtime hatchlings, this little one had a bit of the earth in her, and her mountain-like head already filled with thoughts of climbing icy peaks. Someone had seen fit to lift her on the shelf, directly in front of the air conditioning, where she could feel nice and cool, and look out onto the Incubation Room below, where all the other hatchlings were meeting each other and playing. She seemed happy surveying the scene rather than diving into the thick of things - and Miss Lulu couldn't be happier, because maybe this baby could spot this mysterious, impossible-to-track being that was haunting her -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

Shadows cast on the wall by the latest, ghostly baby to emerge betray the shape of the mysterious presence - some kind of bumpy, blob-like thing, with... bunny ears?? Miss Lulu somehow felt that her understanding of the situation was made worse by that information rather than better... How could something like that move so fast? The mystery was mindbending, but the newly-born spirit's attention was elsewhere... on a tiny, black rose, held in her tiny wax hands, softly singed at the edges from flame. It is said that such a flower grows in the few dark corners of Springtide Isle, and to obtain one was to risk death itself... Yet here it was, in the itty-bitty hands of an infant Pokemon, lighting up her yellow eyes with happiness. Someone had gone to great lengths to keep the Pokemon's mind off of mischief in her first moments of life...

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

Where once a particularly large egg was incubating in the center of the room, a serpentine dragon now rests, curled up in recovery from the incredible energy expended to free himself from his shell. A soft pillow with tiny flowers stitched into the fabric rests under his head, which the rest of his body curls around, allowing the baby to sleep in peace and comfort, in spite of all the activity around him. Someone had pat the baby's head, leaving a small bit of slime behind - wait, slime? Miss Lulu can't help but be reminded of the trail she had seen earlier in the week -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

The eggs in the spare room jammed with temporary incubator units were ready to hatch, now - the voice had clearly moved there, and though Miss Lulu was hesitant to leave the babies in the Incubation Room unattended, they all seemed to have been well-cared for by this mysterious presence. A twinge of jealousy grips her heart momentarily before she shakes it off. Perhaps I won't have to call for Dr. Newman just yet, she thinks to herself, though maybe he could help me figure out what's going on, here...

By the looks of things, someone had been busy putting out fires - charred, wet spots in the rug surround a baby fire mouse, whose hatch was likely an explosive one. To avoid getting the hatchling wet, the little fire type had been given a fireproof blanket to wrap himself in, and the baby rolled around in it, cooing happily. He rolls himself to a particularly round-looking egg, which the Hatchery Attendant knew was next in line to hatch... Miss Lulu watches intently, hoping that the strange, laughing being might show itself, only to realize that the round egg has two big, red eyes and a coy smile. Indeed, the egg had already hatched, moments ago, and the occupant within was rolling about, following the fire type with curiosity and amusement. Eventually, the fire mouse slows, allowing the pair to roll side by side, as they knock into all sorts of shelves, tables and incubation units. The pink Pokemon gains momentum, slowly but surely, and Miss Lulu rushes after the baby in a panic, afraid that she will launch straight into -

Pyuuuuuuuuu~

A sticky, white hand pops out of nowhere, catching the baby and setting her down on the floor, patting her on the top of the head before retracting. Miss Lulu runs to where the hand seems to originate from, but finds no one there...

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

Someone had taken the time to escort the little Electric Pokemon who had just emerged to the nearest electrical outlet, where he had begun to feed. Horn-like appendages spark with blue light as the baby charges up, eager to test out his abilities... Fortunately for him, someone also had the foresight to set up a grounded dummy nearby. Miss Lulu didn't remember doing that - maybe Dr. Newman had? - but the baby eagerly goes to town on the substitute-shaped dummy, punching and kicking and shocking as hard as he can. The baby sheep covered in daisies wanders in from the other room, drawn in by the static. He watches intently, providing a few shocks of his own, and the pair quickly become engaged in a friendly competition. Miss Lulu enjoyed watching the pair trade shocks on the dummy, so much so that she momentarily forgot the mysterious -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

The smell of cherry blossoms once again wafts to Miss Lulu's nose - the pink, perfumed Pokemon had also decided to traverse rooms, seeming intent on masking the smell of the most recent hatchling. The purple, skunk-like creature swishes her tail with curiosity, as she examines a delicious-looking fruit emitting a sweet smell which seems to have been left for her to eat. Miss Lulu did not recognize the treat, but gathered it must be - like the rest of the mysterious treats that seemed to be showing up everywhere - native to Springtide Isle. The baby takes a tentative bite into the fruit, not quite sure what to think at first, but the taste quickly inspires the little one to gobble up the rest of the fruit before anyone else can take a bite. The fruit seems to work immediately in neutralizing the baby's smell, at least temporarily, much to the relief of everyone around her...

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

A serpentine baby with a drill-like tail and tiny wings floats slightly above the ground, hovering with eagerness to explore the room and meet the other Pokemon around him. Around his neck, a scarf made of unique and oddly-shaped leaves from the Springtide Isle, marking him as yet another baby receiving ministrations from the mysterious stranger. The baby hovers into the Incubation Room where, with considerable effort, he is able to float himself high enough to find a space beside the Frost Tree Pokemon by the air conditioner and say hello, joining her in watching the world go by. Though he looks a bit out of breath from the strain of flying so high, the ice type's pleased expression seems to make the effort worth it for the Land Snake.

Miss Lulu knew the next baby in line to hatch - a baby she had spent some time with, and knew fairly well. Waiting by her egg, she waits quietly for the laughter... Surely... any moment....

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

"GOTCHA-" Miss Lulu cries out, only to realize that the egg has no cracks in it whatsoever. The Hatchery Attendant feels a tiny tug on the bottom of her dress, as she looks down to see the occupant within... Who had, most likely, teleported or had been sneakily spirited out of her egg. Miss Lulu frowns a bit, not terribly happy to have been tricked, but it's hard to stay mad at the little girl whose deep, red eyes look up at Miss Lulu meaningfully. Bright colors... a world of endless possibility...

An image flashes into Miss Lulu's head of a strange Pyukumuku in rabbit ears gently tapping the newly hatched psychic type atop the head, as if imparting some sort of vision or secret into the Pokemon's mind. The Feeling Pokemon smiles mischievously, knowing what Miss Lulu had seen, and though her emotions read warm and with childlike excitement, the Hatchery Attendant had no idea what that secret could be. And yet, there is another vision - faint, momentary, but nonetheless there - of two eggs that Miss Lulu did not recognize, and the strange, rabbit-eared Pyukumuku sitting on top of them...

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

There was little time to dwell on the vision, as a newly born dragon with a bright red face extends his wings beneath a well-placed sun lamp. Jagged teeth turn upward in a grin, as she basks in the warmth. Miss Lulu sits beside the baby dragon, enjoying the feeling of the artificial rays against her back. Something rough brushes up against Miss Lulu's arm, as she realizes that the baby is dozing off, and has rested her head against the Hatchery Attendant. With a loving smile, Miss Lulu pats the dragon's head, feeling a bit of slime - apparently, she was not the only one to give the baby an affectionate pat to reassure them. Slowly but surely, the baby lifts a claw and points, drawing Miss Lulu's attention -

Pyupyupyupyupyupyupyu~

Miss Lulu is drawn both by the dragon's claw and the sound of snoring to a baby koala. Beside him rests a special log brought from the Springtide Isle, a gift for the baby in the first hours of his birth - but it seems the baby has ignored the log in favor of a squishy black blob with pink horns, pink eyes, a little, white mouth, and a pair of white bunny ears that may or may not be part of the creature's body... The water type wiggles and writhes very carefully, so as not to harm the baby who has chosen it as his snuggle buddy. Reaching for the log with a long, sticky white hand, the Pyukumuku makes the switch before the sleepy Miss Lulu can rouse herself from the warmth and catch him -

PyupyupyuUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

The final hatch of the batch brings a shower of electricity and plenty of positivity to a group of bright, sunny, Spring-scented babies... And what better way to show off that positivity than immediately launching into a cheer with sparkling, electric pom-poms? Unfortunately for the source of the mysterious laughter, however, the pom-poms spark forth from the baby's hands faster than the creature anticipates, and a full-blown electric shock pulses through the water-type's body. With a bit of a twitch, the paralyzed Springtime Pyukumuku sighs at its misfortune, though it still uses its sticky, electrified hand to reassuringly pat the baby, with a bit of a stilted pyu-p-p-pyuuuu~ to assure him that it was just an accident.

Miss Lulu shakes her head in disbelief. Certainly, she had heard a great deal about the Springtime Pyukumuku, but to imagine that this being was the one to have traveled all the way here, spending a week stealthily administering care to its brood... Perhaps it made sense for such a being to be concerned for the fate of its eggs. Maybe I could use the help, Miss Lulu begrudgingly admits to herself, thinking back to the extinguished flames, the bouncing baby and the various Pokemon who had been placated long before making a fuss... Twenty-one babies co-existing at once was no small feat, and not one that Miss Lulu could conceivably see herself achieving. After gently lifting the sleeping dragon's head from her shoulder and positioning her comfortably, she stands up and reaches into her pocket, offering the Pyukumuku a Cheri Berry. The creature takes it with his slimy, white hand, before it retracts back into his mouth. With a shudder, the paralysis leaves his body, and the creature seems to smile.

Pyukupyuuuuuuuuu~ the Pokemon says in a singsong voice, before beginning to hop away.

"Wait, Pyukumuku, I..." Miss Lulu starts, and the creature turns around, tilting its head.

"I wanted to... to thank you, for all of your help!" Miss Lulu says, her eyes beginning to well up with tears. "I know I can be really scatterbrained, and I don't reach out to others when I should, but... I really appreciate you coming her to take care of the babies, and..." Miss Lulu takes a deep breath. "...and you're welcome to stay here, if you like."

The Springtide Pyukumuku slowly shakes its head, indicating its desire to return to the Isle where a new clutch of eggs will await, in due time. Before Miss Lulu can despair, however, its white hand emerges, pointing in the direction of the records room. Pyu-muku-pyuuuu~

Miss Lulu turns to look in the direction the Pokemon is pointing. "I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're -"

Before she can finish her sentence, the Springtime Pyukumuku has vanished. Miss Lulu pouts and stomps her foot. "Hmph! I can't believe I fell for the oldest trick in the book..."

Disappointed as she felt, however, she couldn't help but feel that this wasn't the end of the story...

Miss Lulu heaves a heavy sigh. Much as being surrounded by a group of wonderful baby Pokemon filled her with joy, there was something downright disappointing at coming so close to having a Pokemon companion of her very own - an egg-loving Pyukumuku that seemed to share her natural sense of knowing what each and every little one needed in the first moments of life - Miss Lulu resigned herself to the fact that it wasn't meant to be. Reaching for the phone to page Dr. Newman, she hesitates a moment, remembering the direction that the Springtime Pyukumuku had pointed. Perhaps it was nothing more than a distraction, but perhaps there was some merit to checking it out, at least.

Carefully opening the door to the Records Room, Miss Lulu notices nothing out of place, at first. A familiar noise catches the Hatchery Attendant's attention - no, not laughter this time. Something more subtle, yet unmistakable to a trained ear - the sound of an eggshell cracking.

Eyes widening, the Hatchery Attendant rushes toward the far corner of the room to where the sound originated - a makeshift nest, surrounded by blankets and slime, which houses the very same two eggs that Miss Lulu saw in her vision. With a gasp, Miss Lulu panics immediately - no preparations had been made for these two! Where did they come from? Who did they belong to??

Dr. Newman!! DR. NEWMAN!! Miss Lulu doesn't even bother with the phone, propelling herself into the lobby and crying out for the Doctor's attention. Had she not been in such a rush, she might have noticed the little piece of paper next to the nest, with the crude, yet unmistakable cartoon of a Pyukumuku with bunny ears carrying a pair of eggs across the ocean, through fields and valleys, and to the Hatchery, where a stick-figure Miss Lulu wipes away her tears, opening up her heart to warmth and mystery.

Picking up this little lady and putting her in a regular old Pokeball (I am left with 4)

Thanks for the beautiful post Marion! And now that I feel less guilty about doing so (please don't feel rushed to hatch it, I'm fine with waiting!)

Heather has hatched a Lv.1 male Cyndaquil with EM Covet, EM Flame Burst and EM Quick Attack.
Mint eagerly accepted the small bundle of fireproof blanket that was offered her, the small chiffon and blue snout protruding from it a giveaway as to its contents. She exercised a great amount of self control to keep from audibly squealing amongst the other Trainers gathered.

Mint absolutely adored the Cyndaquil species, they were a solid mix of powerful and cute, even when they evolved fully. Mint was looking forward to raising this explosive little sweetheart. And there could only be one type of Poke Ball that would fit a Pokemon fitting such a description.

Mint dug deep in her Bag to withdraw a still-unused Gingerbread Ball. What better home for such a good natured, if a little too excitable, Fire Type than a home literally baked by the sort of heat it would one day come to produce? Sure, the ball itself wasn't literal gingerbread, that would be much too fragile, but it was the idea that counted, right?

"Welcome home, Fondue."

(OOC: IM LOVE MY NEW BABY BURNY MOUSE BOY HE'S GONNA BE SUCH A SWEETHEART! Bless u Marion ;w;

Claiming Fondue, Egg Moves and all, and placing him in the above-linked Gingerbread Ball. Merengue just made a new friend~)

Meetan has hatched a Lv.1 female Deino.
Finally, the warmth of spring seemed to be more consistent, and Alice Hope was certainly glad for it. It wasn't insanely hot, and there was a good amount of wind ruffling through her blonde hair to stop the humidity from ruining her day. She wasn't the biggest fan of summer, the season that was fast approaching, because heat was not her best element. For as long as there was a cooling offset, she would be glad for it.

There were a lot of trainers coming this way through various means, and Alice had already seen a few go ahead of her. She actually had a mount Pokemon of her own, finally: a tall, muscled Machoke that seemed to move with a subtle elegance that people didn't seem to associate with her species. The trainer was hoisted up onto her broad shoulders, two strong hands carefully gripping mostly-bare legs. The fighting type had such strength that the backpack her trainer wore made no difference at all, and Nani looked delighted at how happy Alice was. Yes, she was lazy, but she seemed to take childish joy in being carried like one, and they were happy to be on their way to meet a new baby. Hopefully it was another who stayed, they seemed to get lucky with their hatches.

Nani crouched, carefully assisting Alice as she dismounted, ponytail swinging with the motion. Tangled decoratively around it was a shining Bellsprout, Bentley, who had always been fond of rides himself. The young woman greeted any others that she saw going in and out – but more interestingly, the Hatchery was energised with new life, and nothing short of straight up chaos. At least it smelled good, though, like spring and the sea mixed together. Now she was craving sea salt ice cream...

“Our baby should be a dragon, right? I wonder where they are...” As if on cue, a Pokemon barrelled through, blue face partially obscured by jet black fur. It let out a mighty roar, its presence surprising both Nani and Alice. It was hard to tell the grassy rider's feelings on it from where he was set, although the bell had shifted a bit to get a look at the commotion.
“Is it ours...?” Alice asked quietly. Nani seemed uncertain. The dragon was now blocking the doorway, but they absolutely had to find someone before they ended up abducting a child. Thankfully, the fighting type's time at the Adoption Centre was a gift here, for she was brave but tender in getting the Deino to move so that they could find an attendant. It hadn't come without scars: the monster had briefly latched onto her arm, and the Deino already had a good set of teeth.

As it was, the Deino was theirs. Alice was delighted, if a little worried. These dragons had a reputation, and this one seemed to live up to them. A familiar phrase came to mind when she thought of her hatching history: good luck with that!

Good luck with them, indeed...

((Picking up my Deino in a Poke Ball, thanks, Marion! And also using this post to debut/show that Nani the Machop has evolved into Machoke! Woot.))

"Sad," Keith murmured as he wandered the abandoned streets, littered with pieces of garbage of all sorts- McDeinos burger wrappers, Starboks coffee cups, small piles of now-worthless coins under the smashed Coin Cases that once held them, and other similarly sad sights. "And to think- had they just let this place die off in the first place, it might not be so needlessly littered."

"Yeah, well, the old Elite Four ain't neva made a lotta sense about much," Meowth remarked from his usual position on Keith's shoulder. "Dunno why dey thought pushin' Grandio City on us was a good idea when ain't nobody eva went wit it."

"Yeesh... And, y'know, they told us all that they just reworked this place into Beeyemgee City," sighed Keith. "Turns out they just started a whole new city. I mean, I guess it makes sense, in hindsight- slapping a cool new name on a ghost town isn't exactly gonna do much for it, is it?"

"Dat said, I feels like sometin's gotta get done fer dis place," Meowth stated, glancing around. I- GAH!" he exclaimed, for suddenly, they were both attacked by a strong, repulsive-smelling gust.

"What is this?!" Keith exclaimed, bracing himself against the sudden rush of putrid air.

"It's like Fairy Wind, but it reeks!" Meowth gagged. "Wat the-"

For at that moment, the attack died down, and Keith and Meowth could get a proper look- a strange-looking avian creature was flying away from them. Something seemed familiar about the shape, but the color was a dismal smoky grey, and with its back turned to them, there was no hope of identifying any facial features. Far too late, Keith thought of digging out his Pokédex, but by the time he got it open, the creature had disappeared around a corner.

"Let's go," Keith stated, breaking into a run.

"Wat?!" Meowth exclaimed, hanging onto Keith's shoulder for dear life. "Dat ting just attacked us and yer goin' afta it?!"

"First, I gotta know what that thing was," Keith stated. "I feel like I've seen that Pokémon somewhere before, but I can't place it. And if that's the case, suppose it could have some relation to Garchick?" he added. "Wouldn't it be nice to finally get the Pokémon League to recognize it as an official Pokémon? I still can't believe they didn't do anything with my findings all those years ago..."

"Ehh," Meowth groaned. He still didn't think this was a good idea, but knowing how important this sort of thing was for Keith, for once he saw fit to keep his objections to himself.

Very quickly, Keith found that the dismal state of Grandio City was even worse than the main streets let on. Mountains of garbage piled up in the narrow alleys, and the air became more and more polluted as they continued onward. Meowth was very much bothered by this, and even Keith, even with what he was, found the air a little off-putting. The wild Pokémon that were calling this place home, however, were clearly not bothered by the repugnant state of the city. Colonies of Trubbish and Garbodor seemed to be thriving among the garbage-laden streets. There were families of Grimer and Koffing as well. Keith, of course, kept his eyes peeled for any signs of Garchick and Peligross- based on the research he'd done years back, this sort of place was ideal for their kind. Alas, he saw nothing of the sort, even though numerous Cacnea Cola cans were among the litter in the streets.

What was more, as Keith continued onward, around every corner there came another blast of repulsive wind, every one of them thwarting Keith and Meowth's attempts at laying eyes on the source until said source had turned tail and flown off. Whatever this Pokémon was, it clearly didn't take kindly to their intrusion. But this only further fueled Keith's curiosity, knowing Peligross to be highly protective of their young. Was he getting reckless at this point? Maybe a little. But his research getting brushed off, that still stung. Maybe to the point of clouding his judgment just a little bit. Or maybe... maybe he could sense something off, something he was hoping he could help with if possible.

Finally, Keith rounded a corner and made it to a long back alley that ended in a massive brick wall stretching almost to the top of the two big buildings it stood between. The alley wasn't quite as narrow as some of the others in the back streets of Grandio City, and piled up against said brick wall was a jaw-dropping mountain of garbage. And perched atop said mountain was the creature itself, glaring down its white beak with piercing red eyes. Keith took out his Pokédex and held it out, but the image that showed up showed this creature with bright pink plumage, and he recognized it immediately.

"Spritzee, the Perfume Pokémon. A Fairy-type," droned the device. "Spritzee can emit delightful scents that change based on what it eats. It can also use its own pleasant aromas to shield itself from foul smells."

"...What is a Spritzee doing in a heavily polluted ghost town?" Keith wondered out loud. "This can't be healthy for it."

If Spritzee was suffering, however, she didn't show it. Gesturing with a wing towards Keith, she trilled loudly, "Spr-r-r-r-r-ritzeeee!"

At once, numerous Grimer, Koffing, and Trubbish emerged from within and around the garbage mountain, barring Keith's way. "Gri Grimer grime!" declared one of the Grimer.

"Grimer's sayin' we's intrudin' in da Hall o' da Garbage Queen," Meowth translated.

"Trub Trubbish trub!" added one of the Trubbish, speaking very passionately.

"Koff! Koffing!" nodded several of the Koffing.

Keith looked at Meowth, but the Normal-type was listening intently to the various Poison-types as they told their story. Once they were done, Meowth turned to Keith. "Back when Grandio was abandoned, and da Grimer, Koffing, and Trubbish all started movin' in," Meowth began, "a hungry Spritzee showed up outta nowhere, passed out as she was lookin' fer food. Dey tink she was abandoned by some hotshot Trainer wat dat used ta shop in Grandio. One o' da Grimer brought her some food. She turned it down at first, cuz it was goin' bad, it was all smelly, and it was handled by a Grimer."

"Fair enough," Keith nodded.

"But once she got it in her head dat it was either dis or death, Spritzee chowed down," Meowth continued. "She used ta be pink like most Spritzee, but as she kept eatin' the foul food, gettin' more and more of a taste fer garbage, her feathers changed color and she started ta stink. Apparently she can still make sweet smells, but when she uses stuff like Fairy Wind, it's gonna stink bad. I tink we's learned dat fer ourselves," he added.

"Yeah, we did," Keith agreed. "So... what, they saved her life, and she returns the favor by keeping them safe?"

"Dat's da shape of it," Meowth nodded. "She takes care o' dem, heals dem up when dey's sick or injured... Dey call her da Garbage Queen. Every Poison-type in Grandio's got great respect fer her."

Keith nodded. "I can see why," he stated, looking back up at Spritzee, a newfound look of respect in his eyes as he did so. However, Spritzee was still glaring disdainfully down at Keith and Meowth- she still saw them as intruders. Keith gave a respectful bow in Spritzee's direction. "We're sorry for intruding," Keith called over to Spritzee. "We mean no harm, and we'll leave quietly."

"Sprrrrritz..." Spritzee murmured softly. She was still sizing up the man, still distrustful. But then, before much else could start to happen, a baby Trubbish came running around the corner, wailing loudly.

Keith looked around- whatever the little Trubbish was shouting about seemed to be whipping the other Poison-types into a frenzy, and Spritzee looked downright livid. "Meowth, translation?" he asked.

"Dere's trouble!" Meowth exclaimed. "Intruders wit a strange-lookin' Muk eatin' all da garbage!"

"Oh, geez," groaned Keith. "I can appreciate an effort to keep a city clean, but not when it's an abandoned ghost town that's become a haven for Poison-types!"

At that moment, the intruders rounded the corner. Two men, looking slightly older than Keith, wearing identical red jumpsuits emblazoned with a stylized letter T. Behind them both stood a sentient puddle of multicolor sludge, studded with what seemed to be strange stones. Keith pointed his Pokédex at this creature.

"Muk- Alola Form- the Sludge Pokémon. A Poison and Dark-type, and the evolved form of Grimer," droned the device. "This form of Muk feeds on garbage almost exclusively. Normally docile, if not fed for a while it will go on a destructive eating rampage, not caring what it consumes."

"Heh, wow, this one's gonna take a while," remarked one of the men. "But it'll all be worth it when we restore Grandio to its former glory!"

Keith scoffed. "What glory?" he retorted. "This place was always a sad, pathetic attempt by the old Elite Four to turn a failing ghost town into a bustling shopping district."

"Hey, you shut your filthy mouth, cowboy!" snarled the other man. "This place was the best idea they ever had! And Pete and I, we're gonna restore this city to its former glory, and that'll surely bring the Elite Four back!"

"...no, it won't!" Keith exclaimed incredulously. "And even if it would, that's all the more reason to leave this place alone- nobody even wants the old Elite Four back! The new ones are far better!"

"They are no Elite Four of ours!" Pete snarled. "We don't recognize their authority!"

"Oh, boo-hoo, so a couple of weirdos don't miss those tyrants," Keith rolled his eyes.

"Oh, it ain't just me and Carl," smirked Pete. "We are but a few of the proud members of an organization dedicated to restoring Fizzytopia to its former glory- we are Team Turnback!"

"Oh, good lord, not another evil team," Keith groaned. "Yeah, OK, I'm gonna have to ask you clowns to turn around and leave now. Grandio City's become a haven for Poison Pokémon, and it's way better at being that than it ever was at being a shopping district."

"Heheh, nothing doing," retorted Carl. "My Muk's gonna consume all the garbage in these streets, and any Poison-type stupid enough to stand in our way!" At this, the baby Trubbish who had warned the others trembled in fear.

Spritzee took to the air at this, hovering above the Grimer, Trubbish, and Koffing. "Spr-r-r-r-r-ritzeeeee!" she bellowed, sending her troops forth. And forth they went, until the Alolan Muk oozed out in front of the Turnback Grunts. "MUUUUUUUUK!" it bellowed threateningly, causing the other Poison-types to stop in their tracks, looking up nervously at the large, ravenous regional variant.

Keith looked- Spritzee was looking concerned at how nervous her subjects were, and he couldn't blame her- that Alolan Muk was a lot for any of them to take on, even together. "Hey!" he called to the Spritzee. "I'll help you out!" As he spoke, he produced a Poké Ball and enlarged it, before tossing it forward. "Bellatrix, let's go!" he exclaimed.

As the ball burst open, there appeared Keith's Skuntank in a flash of light. "Skuntaaaaank!" she grinned, reveling in the foul atmosphere while looking up at the Alolan Muk she was being pitted against.

"You neither scare nor impress us," scoffed Carl. "Muk, Acid Spray!"

Keith reacted swiftly. "Bellatrix, Dig!" he commanded.

"Taaaank!" responded Bellatrix, tunneling underground in an instant, narrowly evading the corrosive ball Muk had shot her way. In the next moment, the ground beneath Muk broke open as the Skuntank reappeared, landing a super effective hit!

"Spritzee..." Spritzee murmured as she watched the battle unfold.

"Muk! Are you gonna take that?!" Carl exclaimed. "Go and give it a Power-Up Punch!"

"Leer attack!" Keith commanded.

"Skuntank!" Bellatrix exclaimed, shooting a sudden sharp glare at the Sludge Pokémon, causing it to hesitate in its attempted Power-Up Punch.

And this was the opening Keith was after. "Now follow up with Play Rough!" he ordered.

Bellatrix pounced, and a cloud of dust was kicked up by the ensuing asskicking the Skuntank was delivering. This, however, was cut short as Muk landed the Power-Up Punch after all, sending the Skuntank flying backwards. She skidded across the ground, but got back up without much trouble.

"Bellatrix, you OK?" Keith asked.

"Skun! Tank!" nodded Bellatrix.

Keith nodded back with a grin. "Glad to hear it," he said. "Now use-"

"Sprrrrritzee!"

Keith looked to the side- the Spritzee had flown up to him, now regarding him with a decidedly less nasty look. Keith smiled. "You want in on this, too?" he asked.

Spritzee nodded. "Spritz! Spritzee!" she said determinedly.

"Muk, end this foolishness! Use Rock Slide!" ordered Carl.

"Bellatrix, use Whirlwind!" Keith ordered. And as Muk shot off numerous large rocks, Bellatrix wheeled around and fired the Whirlwind exactly out of where you'd expect a Skuntank to fire a Whirlwind. The forceful winds blew the rocks back to sender, and Muk roared its discomfort as it was hit by its own attack.

And Keith wasn't ending it there. "Spritzee! Fairy Wind!" he commanded.

Spr-r-r-r-ritz... ZEEEEEEEEEE!" bellowed Spritzee, flapping her wings and unleashing the same foul-smelling Fairy Wind from before. Already reeling from its own attack, Muk was in no position to defend, and took the attack hard. Harder than it normally might, even, for the move seemed to have struck a weak spot for a critical hit.

"No! Muk!" exclaimed Carl as his Alolan Muk roared his discomfort and displeasure.

"Oh, yeah!" Keith grinned. "Now! Let's go, Bellatrix!" he added, moving his arms. His Poisonium Z flashed brightly as it started to emit Z-Power.

"Skuuuuuuuuntank!" bellowed Bellatrix.

"Our minds, our spirits, linked as one!" Keith exclaimed as he moved. "A power as intense as the Plague Swamp of Cascadia! Feel the poison- BE the poison!"

"Spritzee..." Spritzee murmured wonderingly as Keith finished the Poisonium Z poses. Now Bellatrix was full of Z-Power and ready to strike, ready for her Poison Jab to turn into something far more powerful.

"Hit 'em with all we got, Bellatrix!" Keith grinned. "Use Acid Downpour!!!"

Bellatrix surrounded itself with its Z-Power!

Bellatrix unleashes its full-force Z-Move!

...

Acid Downpour
Swirls of poisonous energy spiraled out from Bellatrix, and the very ground beneath Muk turned to a smelly, horribly poisonous swamp. At the same time, vicious purple clouds formed above the Poison/Dark-type, and once the Skuntank gave a loud cry, the clouds opened up and rained a horribly poisonous substance down onto Muk, reacting with the swamp below to deal even more damage. And then, it was all gone, nothing left but Carl's Muk, totally knocked out, slumped on the ground and slowly oozing outward in every direction.

"No!" exclaimed Pete as Carl withdrew his Muk. "And I didn't bring my Pokémon!"

"Well, why didn't you?!" Carl exclaimed in frustration.

"You know damn well I don't have anything that would've been any help in clearing out garbage!" Pete hissed. "Besides, I didn't think we'd run into any opposition your Muk couldn't handle!"

"Gah..." grunted Carl. "Fine, fine, let's just get outta here!'

"Oh, no, you don't!" Keith exclaimed, but before he could do anything, Pete and Carl had taken off running.

Spritzee, however, was not about to let this stand. "SPRRRRRITZEE!" she bellowed. And with that, the Grimer, Koffing, and Trubbish all took off in hot pursuit of the Turnback Grunts. Keith could hear muffled screams off in the distance that slowly died down. He and Meowth exchanged slightly nauseated looks, then looked and saw a look of grim satisfaction on Spritzee's face.

~~~~~
Exactly what fate had befallen the Turnback Grunts, Keith didn't feel like trying to find out. However, they were gone, and Carl's Alolan Muk was now among the city's Poison-types, getting along with them much better now that he wasn't under strict orders to eat their neighborhood. And back in the Hall of the Garbage Queen, Keith stood atop the mountain of garbage, besides the perch that Spritzee used as her throne. "I want to apologize for intruding once more," Keith said to Spritzee. "Though I'm glad I could help defend your city."
But Spritzee no longer looked upset about the intrusion. "Sprrrrritzee!" she stated. "Spritzee, Spritzee Spritzee!"
"Heh?" Meowth questioned incredulously.
"What's she saying, Meowth?" asked Keith.
"Spritzee wants to join us," Meowth said. "She's sayin' anyone wat dat treats Poison-types like youse do, dat's da kinda person she can really respect."
"Indeed?" Keith said, turning back to the grey Spritzee. "So you wanna come with us, Spritzee?" he asked.
"Spritz," nodded Spritzee. Then, there was an outpouring of cheering from down below- Keith turned to look, and saw numerous Grimer, Koffing, and Trubbish all bidding their queen farewell and wishing her luck. They, too, it seemed, had no objection to her wishes.
At this, Keith chuckled and turned back to Spritzee. "Then I have only question for you," he said. "What do you think of the name Miasma?"
"Spr-r-r-r-r-r-ritzee!" nodded Spritzee, her tone one of clear and obvious approval.
"Then that settles that!" declared Keith, tossing a foul-looking purple sphere at the Garbage Queen. "Go, Poison Ball!"
The sphere struck the Spritzee and pulled her inside before landing atop the mountain of garbage. It shifted around a Starboks cup as it wobbled back and forth, but only very briefly before coming to a stop.
"Haha," Keith grinned, holding up the ball. "All right!" he exclaimed. "I just caught... a Spritzee!"
"Meowth, dat's right!" Meowth chimed in.
OOC: Not gonna lie, I wasn't sure about this at first, but I think this girl's gonna get along on this team just fine, so thanks, Marion! And thanks again to TKF for doing this event in the first place! So yeah- claiming my Spritzee in this Poison Ball, naming her Miasma, and declaring her Ability to be Aroma Veil.
Milo was adopted from the adoption center. Although unsure of the actual reason, he suffers from believing that his former trainer did not care about him and as such he has great difficulty in trusting other Pokemon and people. Isaac was told it was abandonment issues, which he greatly hopes that the small gecko can one day overcome. He's been opening up little by little, finding a sense of familiarity in Luca --- who struggles to relate to his adoptive vixen family. He finds it easy to discuss his problems with their most junior member, Sam. He's been working very hard to overcome his issues and has been welcomed into Sam's family with open arms by Ophelia.
In the midst of all the Springtide chaos, a winged being in small, purple egg sits quietly, patiently, listening intently to every cracking egg, every strange and wonderful burst of laughter, and every hatchling entering into the world. Waves of sonar escape the shell and fill the space; why would this little one bother to hatch when she could enjoy the spectacle perfectly from within her egg? Why expose oneself to so many unfamiliar Pokemon when it was entirely unnecessary? She listens, she scans, she learns... yellow eyes unperturbed by the darkness.
It's hard to say how long she would have remained content this way, had her sonar not picked up the presence of fruit... not quite perfectly ripe yet, but ripening right beside her. Someone had left it for her... someone who knew she would take her time to emerge into the world... but who?
Time passes, and the scent becomes more and more appealing as the chaos and noise dies down. Eventually, the little one senses that the fruit is in its most perfect state, and she eagerly bursts forth from the safety of her shell, revealing her purple, bat-like form. She flies eagerly to the pair of Springtide bananas which appeared to have been left specifically for her. Of course, Miss Lulu would feel guilty for weeks about not being present for this little one, but the Sound Wave Pokemon didn't seem to mind - after all, the Springtime Pyukumuku had made sure to prepare for every little one, even after its mysterious departure.
She wanted to look good for Ahi, she wanted him to really feel why they had decided to go through with this in the first place.
She sighed, meeting her own eyes in the mirror. She always had trouble thinking clearly when it came to Ahi. Part of her felt like they were rushing things... but another part of her couldn't help but want to do this. She wanted Ahi to be happy, and she wanted him to be the father of her children. She glanced down at her frame, realizing that soon she would be carrying an egg. She could almost picture Ahi's strong frame standing next to her, their small brown child in front of them.
"Can't you talk to her?" A gruff voice demanded from the other room. Ahri glanced backwards, her father's voice was so distinct, it was hard to mistake. She rose to her haunches, walking to the living room. She saw her father, fist clenched as he looked at Vinny and Kyp. Isaac, her master, simply stood fearfully --- only hearing grunts and growls coming out of Morgana's mouth. Vinny scoffed, her teeth gritting.
"She's mature enough to make her own decisions." Vinny said matter-of-factly. Ahri smiled hearing her mother say those words --- at least someone had faith in her.
"So you're okay with this?" He asked, taking a step closer to Vinny. Ahri saw Kyp, her step-father, instinctively tense up, ready to jump in front of Vinny if he needed to.
"No." Vinny replied, sitting calmly on her haunches. "But I want my... our daughter to be happy." Morgana sighed, turning his head as he heard Ahri's light footsteps treading into the room.
"It's not too late to say no." He began, clearly concerned "We can get Isaac to call Tate an-"
"No." Ahri replied, looking in her father's eyes. "I love him." There was a certain edge to her voice. Nervousness? Probably. But she was growing irritated at her father's distaste for her bearing young. Morgana sighed. He saw so much of Vinny in Ahri, especially in this moment. His fist unclenched and he knelt down to be level with his daughter, patting her on the back, maintaining eye contact without speaking. Ahri could picture all the things he wanted to say, but she just gave a simple nod in response. He stood, glancing at Vinny one last time before heading down to Isaac's training arena.
"I'm sure he's waiting for you, sweetheart." Vinny murmured. Ahri could see the twinge of pain in her eyes that she tried so desperately to hide, not to mention that she could hear the thoughts racing through her mother's head. She could practically feel the feelings of dread that her mother felt as though they were her own. But, she nodded, walking to her mother and brushing against her body. She tried her best to put forth a reassuring smile for her mother, hoping to persuade her that everything would be alright --- but she was sure her own nerves came through. Isaac signaled to the two eeveelutions, noting that it was time to go. Vinny gave Ahri one last glance as they made their way to hatchery.
-----------
The door chimed at the hatchery as Isaac walked inside, Vinny and Ahri in tow. He spotted Tate rather quickly, seeing the Eevee on their shoulder. "Hey." He gave a nod, walking to the counter to begin filling out Ahri's paperwork. Vinny glanced at the trainer, noting that she had an Eevee on her shoulder. She tilted her head, slightly confused.
"That's Ahi's mom. Something weird happened and she turned back into an Eevee." Vinny gave her daughter even more of a confused look. Was that actually possible? She just hoped it didn't happen to her. Ahri looked around, spotting Ahi. He looked stoic, handsome and well built. Her heart fluttered seeing him, she padded towards him excitedly, brushing against him.
Vinny sighed looking at her daughter and Ahi together. She couldn't help but admire the way he looked down at her, clearly deeply in love with the young Espeon. She wasn't ready to be a grandmother, but she wanted what made her daughter happy... and if this was it, she supposed she could learn to accept it.
Isaac turned to Tate seeing the two Eeveelutions already cuddling up and getting romantic. "I need a smoke, want to join me?" He chuckled.
Magic Bounce [This Pokémon Reflects non-attacking moves used on it back to the attacking Pokémon]
Ahri is the daughter of Vinny and Morgana. In terms of personality she takes more after her mother, but her strong-willed and bold nature comes from her father. She's a little too headstrong for Vinny's liking. Extremely rambunctious and constantly trying to cause trouble and mayhem wherever she goes. Although both her parents love her deeply, she finds it a little weird that her mother and father are separated. She also finds it somewhat odd that she has a half sister in Jean as well as a half brother in Arlo. Her and Jean get along, but Vinny is somewhat worried that Morgana's brash daughter could be a bad influence on Ahri. Ahri, however, is certainly the more mischievous of the pair between her and Jean.
Her and Arlo are truly partners in crime, and thanks to his easygoing nature she can usually talk him into her half-baked schemes. Not to mention they have the rest of the grass squad, including their adoptive brother, Luca, to fall back on if things get a little too difficult.
She is mated to Ahi, Tate's Flareon. The two are expecting children.
Vinny dashed ahead of Isaac. She figured that Ahri would want to stay with her egg until it hatched... but she needed to see her daughter as soon as possible. She felt a clawing need in her gut to make sure everything was alright, make sure that her child and future grandchild were well taken care of. She whined upon reaching the door, pawing at it profusely in an attempt to make her master aware of her need to get inside.
"Alright, alright." Isaac sighed, pushing open the door as his Leafeon ran inside, skidding across the freshly waxed floor. Vinny pawed at the reception desk, brown eyes fixated on the attendant. Isaac followed her, picking her up (much to her dismay) and allowing her to be face to face with the desk clerk. "Hey! Sorry for the intrusion." He chuckled, continuing. "It's been a week, my Leafeon just wanted to make sure that her baby is alright." He smiled, and the attendant glanced at some paperwork.
"O-oh! We meant to call you!" She exclaimed, looking at Isaac. The stutter in her voice made his stomach sink, and he could tell by the sudden shiver in Vinny's body that she wasn't exactly fond of the attendant's speech pattern either.
"Uh... why?" Isaac asked, scratching Vinny behind the ears in an attempt to keep the Leafeon calm. The attendant sighed, rising to her feet and signaling for Isaac to follow her. He glanced down at his Leafeon, who's fur was gradually bristling up. He took a deep breath, prepared for the worst as he followed the attendant to the back.
Upon arrival to the nursery, Isaac noticed Ahri curled up beside Ahi. Okay. Nothing looked out of the ordinary thus far. Her head was resting on Ahi's side, enjoying the warmth of her mate.
'Ahri!' Vinny let out a bark, leaping out of Isaac's arms and running towards the pair. Ahri's head shot up, looking towards her mother.
'Mom?' She slowly rose to her feet, bracing herself against Ahi as she rose. Vinny and Isaac's eyes widened as they saw the size of her body.
"Y-yes." The attendant piped up. "We wanted to call you." She glanced at Ahi and Ahri before turning her attention back to Isaac. "Ahri is carrying two eggs... we'll need to keep her for a little longer than normal. N-nothing to worry about, of course. Just to ensure everything goes smoothly when they're finally laid." Isaac took a deep breath, happy that it was nothing serious.
'Two?!' Vinny barked, her mouth hanging open as she looked at her daughter and her mate. Ahri smiled, nodding as she brushed against her mate.
'The more the merrier, right?' Ahri asked.
((Dropping Ahri off to breed with Ahi... again. Tate will also be keeping this second offspring.))
Why expose oneself to so many unfamiliar Pokemon when it was entirely unnecessary? She listens, she scans, she learns... yellow eyes unperturbed by the darkness.
It's hard to say how long she would have remained content this way, had her sonar not picked up the presence of fruit... not quite perfectly ripe yet, but ripening right beside her. Someone had left it for her... someone who knew she would take her time to emerge into the world... but who?
Time passes, and the scent becomes more and more appealing as the chaos and noise dies down. Eventually, the little one senses that the fruit is in its most perfect state, and she eagerly bursts forth from the safety of her shell, revealing her purple, bat-like form. She flies eagerly to the pair of Springtide bananas which appeared to have been left specifically for her. Of course, Miss Lulu would feel guilty for weeks about not being present for this little one, but the Sound Wave Pokemon didn't seem to mind - after all, the Springtime Pyukumuku had made sure to prepare for every little one, even after its mysterious departure.
Naru has hatched a Lv.1 Female Noibat.
Olivia was not familiar with Pokemon eggs.
Sure, they had some kind of nursery back in the palace... but she had never ventured into it. Her father had always said that it wasn't a place for children and she had blindly obeyed his words.
However, now that Olivia was in a different time period it seemed that Pokemon eggs were much more commonplace. She saw countless faces entering and leaving the hatchery, each of these trainers holding a Pokemon as they made their way out the door. She wondered if that would be her. She had found an egg last week after all, dropping it off for the hatchery staff to take care of. She was curious what sort of creature the egg had produced... she had just kind of found it outside her residence. No parents in sight.
As she approached the staff, giving her name, the staff excitedly walked to the back, coming back out with a bundle of bananas. Olivia was confused to say the least, but watched as a small purple bat fluttered towards the clutch of bananas, hungrily munching on the bundle.
"Oh my gosh! It's so cute!" Olivia exclaimed. Bats were not commonplace in her homeland, well, she was sure that they were... she had just never seen them during her sheltered upbringing. Now that she was face to face with one, she could see that they were certainly adorable.
The staff explained that the bat was a female, causing Olivia's heart to flutter. Not only was it adorable, but it was also an absolutely precious and beautiful girl. She smiled, producing a Pokeball and pulling the little purple bat inside.
"I'll treasure her!" Olivia exclaimed, pushing the Pokeball into her cloak. She wasn't kidding either. She would certainly treasure her little Asteria.
((My Enigma luck has finally turned! Picking up Asteria in a regular Pokeball (I have 3 left... I should go buy more..) declaring her ability to be Infiltrator and giving her a Relaxed nature))
Reaching for the phone to page Dr. Newman, she hesitates a moment, remembering the direction that the Springtime Pyukumuku had pointed. Perhaps it was nothing more than a distraction, but perhaps there was some merit to checking it out, at least.
Carefully opening the door to the Records Room, Miss Lulu notices nothing out of place, at first. A familiar noise catches the Hatchery Attendant's attention - no, not laughter this time. Something more subtle, yet unmistakable to a trained ear - the sound of an eggshell cracking.
Eyes widening, the Hatchery Attendant rushes toward the far corner of the room to where the sound originated - a makeshift nest, surrounded by blankets and slime, which houses the very same two eggs that Miss Lulu saw in her vision. With a gasp, Miss Lulu panics immediately - no preparations had been made for these two! Where did they come from? Who did they belong to??
Dr. Newman!! DR. NEWMAN!! Miss Lulu doesn't even bother with the phone, propelling herself into the lobby and crying out for the Doctor's attention. Had she not been in such a rush, she might have noticed the little piece of paper next to the nest, with the crude, yet unmistakable cartoon of a Pyukumuku with bunny ears carrying a pair of eggs across the ocean, through fields and valleys, and to the Hatchery, where a stick-figure Miss Lulu wipes away her tears, opening up her heart to warmth and mystery.
---
((Hatching these two eggs, please!))
((I prefer not to attribute personalities to the hatchlings to give you a blank slate to work with, I hope that's okay!))
It was highly unusual for Miss Lulu to lose composure like that. It was even more out-of-character for her to display it publicly in such a manner - running out into the lobby flailing her arms, demanding his attention and catching everyone else's in the process. Mercifully, it was a slow day at the Hatchery, and there weren't too many customers around for him to apologize to...
It took Dr. Newman a while to realize what had gotten Miss Lulu so worked up, but as she practically dragged him to the back and his eyes fell upon the two shaking eggs, he was relatively quick to piece everything together: Lulu wasn't responsible for those. It was the only explanation - she was a flawless caretaker, but faced with two hatchlings she had not accounted for (and yet, unbeknownst to Newman, she had dreamt of), he probably would have reacted the same way.
But then, something even more extraordinary caught his eyes. The eggs were completely, entirely identical, save for their colours. To the trained eye of Dr. Newman, this was a statistical and scientific marvel - the shell surface, the markings, the size... equal in every way. After a mere glance, he could tell what was about to come out of each of them, and he wondered whether Lulu, in her panicked state, had managed to reach the same conclusion.
"Hm, you know what Miss Lulu? I think you should watch this closely..."
Slowly but steadily, the egg shells broke and fell apart. From the first mystery egg, a gentle scent of grass emanated, before a tiny green monkey head emerged, looking around in confusion and wonder. Immediately afterward, a wave of warm air breezed through the room as tiny embers escaped the shell remains, before a red monkey peered outside as well.
"Are they brothers? Or are they not related at all? Well... I think I will leave it to you to solve this little mystery, Miss Lulu. I do have some very baffled patrons outside I need to go and apologize to..."
((No worries, Mask - this is perfect!! Thank you so much!!))
Miss Lulu watches with awe and wonderment clear on her face as two near-identical faces emerge from their eggs, both pairs of eyes focused intently on the Hatchery Attendant. Having found the note left for her by the Springtime Pyukumuku, there was no denying it now - this pair of Pokemon had been hand-chosen - and by a very sticky hand, at that - for Miss Lulu.
The first baby, smelling of Spring and its natural wonders, sports a wide grin and a posture that suggests the immediate desire to run, move and play. Boundless energy radiates from the baby grass type, who is the first to take a few curious steps towards Miss Lulu. A natural-born companion to the youthful exuberance of the newborns of the Hatchery, he seems eager to meet more like him, and be the first to show them the wonders of the world.
The second baby, smelling of a warm hearth and comforting cinders, is more relaxed in his stance, a soothing smile playing like embers across his crimson face. He enjoys the comfort of his shell for a moment longer before slowly, deliberately stepping forward, wrapping an arm around his brother. The action is reciprocated, as the pair each extend their other arm, welcoming Miss Lulu to their embrace.
Tears well in the young woman's eyes, overwhelmed by the sight of these little ones and their openness to her affection. She swoops them up in a tight mama-bear hug, and the trio's bond, though formed mere moments ago, already feels nigh unbreakable.
"Florian... Faustus..." Miss Lulu speaks their names as if she has known them for a thousand years. "...Welcome home."
The pair cry out happily in unison. Two brothers, with very different personalities, but a clear thread of commonality that can be seen, glimmering with the same brightness in their eyes... innocence, joy, and a little bit of mischief.
---
Using two regular Pokeballs to claim Florian the Pansage with EM Bullet Seed and Faustus the Pansear with EM Fire Punch. I love them both so much already~!!
The mystery was mindbending, but the newly-born spirit's attention was elsewhere... on a tiny, black rose, held in her tiny wax hands, softly singed at the edges from flame. It is said that such a flower grows in the few dark corners of Springtide Isle, and to obtain one was to risk death itself... Gemini Spark has hatched a Lv.1 female Litwick.
Hehe, I've been getting quite a few adorable Pokemon lately! Now to see just what you are:
Litwick, the Candle Pokemon. The purple flame on its head flickers to life and grows as this Pokemon feeds on the life force of any people or Pokemon nearby it. The flame gives off just enough light to guide travelers around dark places, luring them along while siphoning their health away.
Wow, that sounds like something some of my other Pokemon would do, except this one just does that as part of its nature!
: Oooo, meemee thinks kyuu are kyuute~
: Nope! Nope, don't keep this one!
Wh- why?
: Don't worry, I'll take care of it, just put it in this Pokeball (3/47) already! *floats off to the White Market*
O...kay? I'll have to talk with him later, but for now we should go see everyone else! Welcome to our team...Aki!
