If it was Dragon/Fighting maybe I'd look for one in here, and even then Fraxure>Haxorus in design, imo. Don't know why, it just didn't click with me as much as I thought it would, and I ended up liking every other Gen V dragon line more. :P

Yeah I never clicked with Haxorus. Druddigon all the way.
Also my ASB Druddigon is Dragon/Fighting!

Druddigon's a bit of a mess. I want to like him, but he feels like "Talon's UPN Skin - The Pokémon!" with that color scheme. Then there's the fact that he doesn't evolve. Then there's the fact that he's a boring monotype Dragon. As a middle stage evolution in a three-stage family, he looks amazing. As the final stage in such a family, he looks too short and stocky. And then he's not even the final stage of a three-stage family. He's the only stage of a single-stage family. I dunno. I don't hate Druddigon, but I really, really wanted to like him much more than I've ever been able to.
Would I pick Druddigon over Haxorus? Hard to say. Not a fan of Haxorus's design. (That neck. That bipedalism. That distinct lack of wings.) But I dunno, I don't really hate Haxorus either. Like Druddigon, I'm just sort of neutral towards him. I can see a lot to hate, I can also see a lot to love. Gen 5 favorites ... Galvantula and Volcarona pretty much take the award home for Team Bug all on their own, but I think that Lilligant, Whimsicott, and Ferrothorn politely cough and ask them where they're taking Team Grass's trophy, and Minccino and Cinccino remain two of my favorite Pokémon designs of all time, so even all by their lonesome selves they do a good job representing Team Normal. I found a few designs and concepts to really love in Gen 5, but in the end it probably remains for me the single greatest swing and a miss of all time for Pokémon designs. So many bad ones. So many terribly, terribly bad ones. Definitely optimistically excited for Gen 6. Here's hoping they learned their mistakes from Gen 5 and they give us three starters whose final stages are all bitchin'. (I'm going to go curl up in the corner and cry if the Fire starter winds up being a furry humanshape. Then again, depending on the execution I might laugh my ass off. )

And as Zangoose day approaches, remember to give your bloodstained beasts with long claws (yet they can't learn Cut, what's up with that?) their gifts... while I do my best to keep Marvolo as far away from the calendar as possible.

Druddigon always makes me think of the snap-dragonfly from Alice Through the Looking Glass.
Spoiler: show On a totally random note, I just discovered last night that The Ballad of the Goddesses from Skyward Sword is Zelda's Lullaby reversed. Mind blown.

I was concerned about my little buddy when I heard about the bombing a few days back, but I texted him and was relieved to learn he lives a full hour away.
In other news, I've had a swollen eye for about 2 days now. |

An unofficial question, so I'll post it here rather than the FAQ since the answers will most probably depend on personal opinions.
I've read what needs to be done in order to apply for being an updater, but I'm certain there must be other unofficial criteria that must be filled such as at least 2 years of experience, at least so X amount of replies to updates, at least X amount of completed adventures, etc. What would these be? (in your opinion if must be) Other question (posting this in the FAQ), I remember reading that you can't capture shiny Pokémon in adventures. That seems logical, for the same reason I expect you can't capture shadow Pokémon, legendaries or evolved forms. Where are these restrictions actually listed? because I'm betting there must be a few more rules like 'what type of items are allowed', 'to what extent you can have adventurers be able to capture a Pokémon', etc.

Seemed to me like the only real requirement for being an updater is to be able to write updates of good length and quality.
I don't think how long you've been a member is relevant, as someone could have lots of past writing experience from fan fics and other RPGs. As far as the number of replies and completed adventures goes, seeing as that's tied to how often you're getting updates, that also doesn't seem like something that would be taken into consideration. |

Also, Rakurai has the criteria down. I became an updator after about 2 months, let alone years and had nearly zero writing experience.

It's Rufflet day.
... Does anyone even have a Rufflet? I know there are like eight people who want one, but I've never seen one here. |

Me and several friends actually thought Haxorus would be Bug/Dragon when it first came out, and were a little disappointed it wasn't. Still love Haxorus, though, and can't wait to see what a real Bug/Dragon will look like.

Wow. "Let's FLIP OUT, quote-reply to EVERYTHING he said, and throw personal attacks his way we have absolutely no evidence for." Because I clearly must hate novel type designs, what with me and my hatred of Groudon the Uncharacteristic Ground Type Design, Giratina the Uncharacteristic Dragon Type Design, or Chandelure the Uncharacteristic Ghost Type Design ... oh waiiiit ... [/heavy and at you] Relax. I didn't say I hate Druddigon, so you don't need to lash out with an impassioned defense of the guy like I'm Public Enemy #1. If you can't handle this ridiculously narrow level of difference in enjoyment, then this is all the more reason why people should quit fangushing about specific species in the TO.

@Talon: If you think I'm "lashing out", I think you should take a look at your own reply just now. I wasn't personally attacking you in my post. You said some things about Druddigon I disagreed with, I wanted to share my reasons, all of which I did support with evidence (when presented as facts, not my opinion), btw. Also, I didn't quote-reply everything you said. Barely even half, in fact, not replying to anything after "Team Bug", just the bits I had stuff I wanted to talk about prior to that. I wasn't upset when I posted that, even with the "I'm starting to think you just hate novel type designs", it was just a joke.
If you're still upset, however, then PM me and we can talk about it Quote:
I was thinking non-legends when I posted that, which includes Garchomp; the fins on it's arms are called wings by the Pokedex several times. Though, for what it's worth, Palkia has wings on its back too.
