Someone on GameFAQs found a quicker way to SR the Kanto starters, though once you do it, you're locked into the Kanto starter you choose. He'll let you go and make room, and then all you gotta do is talk to him to get the starter you want.

Yeah I got screwed over with a Hardy Squirtle but I hadn't saved the game for a while so I didn't bother resetting. I won't be using any pre-gen VI Pokémon on this playthrough anyway as tempting as the mega evolutions sound.

I also just caught a Helioptile! It has a Timid nature which I can't decide whether its really good or really bad. Is Helioptile special-based or phisical-based? Or is it a mixed-attacker? What category is its signature move?

If it's any help, my Calm (so -Atk) Helioptile has 27 Atk and 41 SpAtk at Lv.27, so I think you're alright.

Since I had to start Fennekin, really like Mega Charizard X, AND I'm getting a free Torchic, I decided to go mono-fire. Right now I'm traveling through the cave where you fight Team Flare for the first time. The gap between the first and second gym is sorta kinda immense. I don't entirely understand Super Training - how do I clear existing EVs so I can start fresh?

So far my team is Braixen, Combusken, Charmeleon, Pansear, and Litleo. I have a Floette absorbing experience until I find something better. I'm really enjoying it so far. 10/10

There is a training bag that clears EVs.

I honestly thought Amie was the biggest gimmick ever when I saw the prerelease info but I really enjoy using it. It's kind of like a tamagotchi with a few cool mini games. You can also sort of make a little secret base on your bottom screen and other trainer's Pokémon come and visit it if you're connected to wifi.

As for Super Training, your mileage may vary. Sometimes I like it and other times I find it mindnumningly boring.

Battling Korrina right now. Farfetch'd just OHKO'd Mienfoo with Aerial Ace, after first using Swords Dance.

EDIT: Also OHKO'd Machoke.

EDIT: And Hawlucha, albeit after barely surviving a Flying Press!

EDIT: Quilladin is evolving!

Just beat Valerie and got Dazzling GLeam. My Gardevoir just went from Cannon to Monster in one move. Now in the Pokeball Factory for plot reasons and grinding Goomy. Also abusing the fact that EXP isn't split between party members and they all receive the same amount of experience in the battle. Really helps train the weaker Pokemon without being a detriment to the stronger Pokemon. Also, my Talonflame learned Acrobatics at Lv. 44. Yaaay for good abuse able Stab!

EDIT: A friend and I are trying to see if it is a Hidden Ability of the line. Cause its seriously OP.

For those curious, Gale Wings gives priority to Flying typed attacks.

Now patiently let what that means when Talonflame gets it sink in.

Just found a Sun Stone, meaning I can evolve Helioptile... The question is, should I evolve him now, or hold out for any potential gems it might only get in the Helioptile stage? It's gotten a couple of Ground moves, maybe Earth Power is somewhere in its movepool?
