I didn't watch a single 2008 anime.
Soooo....... did I miss out on anything? Knowing my tastes probably not. All I remember was 2007 anime continued being spammed along with some new crappy harem and moemoe shows. Whats this year looking like? I know a Valkyria Chronicles anime is coming but like all game conversions its gonna suuuuuccckkkk!

I have no idea on how you think, so I don't know what to recommend. You don't even like a specific genre last I checked, but might enjoy specific shows in a genre.
2008 has been a bad year overall, sans Geass if one considers Geass "good". I wouldn't know where to start.

I think Geass was the only think I liked last year.

And Geass was just a continuation of a 2007 show so that wouldn't count even if I did like it! |

Give us a list of what you've seen and liked...at best all I could do is recommend the shows I've seen, which would probably have less than a 10% success rate. :O

I've been too busy being a magey mage to really know much about the 2k8 anime lineup @_@ I mean, I watched and liked a few titles, but that's about it.
Also, I don't really know what to recommend, since all I've really seen is things you don't like. |

I enjoy Toradora but ilifin hasn't finished subbing it and the other groups' subs were rubbish so that might not be a good one to recommend.
If you like cute 3-minute clips you might want to try Chi's Sweet Home. It's meant for preschoolers and their parents to watch together. The star of the show is a fussy, curious kitten named Chi. Other than that ... I guess 2008 was pretty empty for me too. o.o

I look forward to the day that Chi meets a certain awesome someone from Season 1 again. No idea how other than for the Yamadas to move to the countryside, but maybe you-know-who will have a short visit to Tokyo and run into Chi. That'd be great.
