Beginner Trainer Battle: PikaGod vs. Stark!

Another eagerly awaited battle is about to unfold here at the majestic Kumo city’s Kings castle! It’s mid-day here up in the clouds where the King’s castle is looking as radiant as ever. The high sun gleams of every centerfold, refracting off rose bushes to create a wonderful rainbow effect through the sky, the stone grey slabs on the wall using the gift of the beauty in simplicity to its finest to create a wonderers dream as the perfect photo op. Althought you’d expect a normal castle to be crystal clean and reserved for the kings V.I.P’s this castle has one thrilling difference, it has a train battle being issued in the midst of it. It's a good thing our trainers and their Pokémon are hyped up and ready to go, so they should be, but watch out for the Arcanine guards as they will be watching and can strike at any moment you decide to harm the castles natural beauty. Pikagod and Stark face one another piercing eyes staring at each other through the prolonged silence, the only sounds heard is that of the kingdra statue in the middle of the arena. Ready and raring to go with their Beginner Trainer Battle, both competitors are in it to win it, so let’s see who snags it.

Arena: Kumo City's King's Castle - The courtyard of this majestic castle floating in the clouds is approximately 50m x 50m wide. Rose bushes and thorny hedges line the walls of the courtyard while at the very centre stands a Kingdra fountain. It is forbidden to damage the castle or its grounds in any way, so if you do the guards Arcanine will be quick to intervene.

After a few tense moments, you notice a small ping sound over the birds tweeting in the background only to look towards the castle. Upon closer inspection of the castle, you notice two doors open with a ‘thwoosh’ sound and a young man step out wearing a dark hoodie. Situating himself to the center of the arena he looks across at the two trainers before rooting through his bag, only to reveal a referees pass and two coloured flags. Another moment passes, and the referee suddenly mauls a glossy Magikarp-coin, “PikaGod, Heads; Stark, Tails.� Tossing the coin high in the air, he quickly grabs it to reveal the verdict.

“Heads!�

With a quick nod he waves his flags for the competition to begin.


The order of this battle will go as follows:
- Both of you will PM your Pokemon's stats, healing items, and first round moves to me.
- I will ref the first round.
- PikaGod will then order their attacks for the next round.
- Stark orders their attacks.
- I ref the round, attack order reverses, and so we continue until we have a winner!

Once again Stark entered Kumo City's King Castle to face another opponent. Eevee pranced by his heels in the naive loving way she often did when following her trainer. Stark smiled. The little one had grown so much in the past few weeks, but there was still one thing she hadn't done. Battle. While it wasn't one of Stark's favorite activities, he knew that in order for her to grow she would need the experience that comes with facing off against foes. He wasn't exactly sure who their opponent would be as they had never met before, but if his recent experience in this very same courtyard was any indication, the trainer would most likely be a tough young one determined to win. That suit Stark just fine. The last thing he wanted was someone to go easy on him just because he was using this battle for training himself and his partners.

"Alright Eevee," he said kneeling down as the small brown pokemon leaped into his arms and began licking his face, "Okay! Okay. That's enough girl. You ready to try something new?"

"Eevee!" the little partner shouted as she bounced up and down.

Stark smiled at his girl, "We're going to go into your first battle, but don't worry. You won't be alone." His hand reached down and pulled a small orb from off of his belt. With a light toss the ball opened in a shimmer of light to reveal a tiny bluish/black, white, and red bird.

"Taillow!" the avian chirped.

Stark let Eevee out of his arms so she could run up next to the bird. The pride in the trainer's eyes was evident. While he loved all of his partners a great deal, if one were looking close enough they would see that these two meant something even more to him.

"Let's do it," Stark said with a sly smirk and a nod of his head toward his opponent, "Start off with Thunder Wave to slow down your foe and follow it up with a Sand Attack to try to blind it."

Karmas stood at his end of the field. He could feel the adrenaline rushing through him. The trainer ripped a pokeball off his belt and threw it up into the air. The ball opened and a red armored bug appeared.

"Okay Buggsy," said Karmas. "I want you to start off with a Focus Energy. Next use Bullet Punch followed up with a Vacuum Wave

The battle starts off with both of the two trainers preparing themselves for the long fight ahead, comforting their Pokémon and giving them words of praise. Both trainers are quick to withdraw their hands towards their belts before simultaneously throwing two red balls each. In a flash of red energy, mild roaring can be heard from the combatants and after a few seconds the red shapes die down to reveal a Scizor, Tropius, Eevee and Tailow.

Scizor then jumps into action before focusing his energy to concentrate on the battle; its senses heightened as well having its accuracy, attack, and evasiveness increase. Scizzor, feeling much more confident turns around to get blasted with a wave of thunderous electricity the numerous tendrils of electricity binding the scizor. Eevee grins with its hard work and flexes its muscles before getting socked by some punches that are as fast as a bullet. Eevee then decides to get its revenge by grabbing some sand from the floor before attacking scizor by slapping it in its eyes. Scizor rubs his eyes in pain and tries to launch a vacume wave but it misses due to sand impairing his view.


At the end of the round:

Scizor took minor damage and used little energy, still has plenty left in the tank.
Eevee took a little bit more damage than scizor, but not much more. Eevee also used less energy than Scizor.

"Okay Buggsy, start off with a Vacuum Wave, and follow it up with two Bullet Punches."

[Stark]

"Eevee throw some more Sand to Attack him then move in and Tickle him while he's blinded," Stark said as his eyes narrowed in thought. Eevee was at a disadvantage against the large insect, but with a little bit, or more appropriately, a lot of work they might be able to wear down Scizor enough to effectively get in some offensive moves.Stark's coddling of the little brown fox-like pokemon was painfully obvious. Had he taken the time to train her to battle as he did some of his other pokemon when they were young, he might have been able to come up with a better strategy. Still there was always the arena itself. Maybe, just maybe he would be able to use it to his advantage somehow.

Taillow landed on his shoulder prompting him to take his eyes off the battle for a second and look around at area with a more critical eye. The Tropius across the way brought on the realization that size was not in their favor. Regardless, the old adage that size wasn't everything rang through his mind. As long he held out hope and did the best he could with his partners they still had a chance.

Bugsy punches the air at high speed, causing a small orb of fighting spirit to go hurtling toward eevee at high speed, as eevee looks up and gets socked right in the face for mild damage. Eevee looks down on the ground once more, looking for some sand as another terrific speeded attack lands from scizor as eevee takes another blow of mild energy. Eevee gets contempt on a clump of sand on the floor and attacks scizor with it, who rubs his eyes once more, the sand really starting to annoy his eyes and cause some swelling. As a counter attack Scizor tries to bullet punch once more at eevees last known location only to find the attack missed. Looking around in a shocked / puzzled comical way, scizor suddenly bursts out laughing. As he drops to his back in laughter his trainer can only look on to see eevee tickling him pink, lowering scizors attack.

As the two Pokemon come bounding onto the field for another round, both pokemon look evenly matched at the first round. Scizor, feeling that that is about to change punches the air at high speed, causing a small orb of fighting spirit to go hurtling eevee was standing, hitting for mild damage! Bugsys bullet punch attack flies across the field, shaving blades of grass along the way, until it finally collides with eevee’s face! Eevee looks annoyed with this, as both trainers look on to see Eevee getting contempt on a clump of sand on the floor and attacks scizor with it hitting him squarely between the eyes! Scizor rubs his eyes once more, the sand really starting to annoy his eyes and cause some swelling.

Scizor then releases another bullet punch at eevees last know location while trying to get sand out of his eyes. As scizor manages to get most of it out he looks up only to see the eevee disappeared from view. Looking around in a shocked but rather comical way, scizor suddenly bursts out laughing! As he drops to his back in laughter his trainer can only look on to see eevee tickling him pink, lowering scizors attack.

At the end of the round:

Eevee took two more mild hits but is still feeling fine. Energy use was negligible.

Scizor took a tiny hit, and has more than eevee health wise. Took a little bit of energy this round and is behind eevee in that respect.

Stark to order first.

[Stark]

Stark flinched as the attack hit Eevee. She seemed fine for the most part, but just the fact that she was hit in the face brought a snarl to the trainer's face. Regardless, the sight of a laughing Scizor brought a smile to his face no matter how much he wanted to pretend that it didn't. It was such an odd sight. However, he knew they couldn't afford to enjoy the spectacle for long. It wouldn't take Scizor long to recover. They had a small opening and it was time to strike.

"Eevee! Now! Use Tail Whip and follow it up by Tackling Scizor," Stark shouted to his partner. While it was a little reckless offensively, Stark figured they might not get another shot like this. Still if they were to win out in the long run, they would need something more.

"Buggsy, dodge its attack with a Quick Attack and then use two Vacuum Waves

The impressive sight of two Pokémon sparing on the battlefield is exciting to say the least, and as the tension flows through the blood all those present. Eevee begins by trotting up to its opponent before whipping scizor with its tail, doing little damage as the size of the tail isn’t very big at all. Eevee then runs straight towards scizor and tries knocks into him, but scizor has moved out of the way with quick attack, leaving eevee to hit the wall behind it.

As eevee rubs its head in pain, it turns round to see scizor, now on top of the fountain, punching the air at high speed. Eevee gulps as she sees whats coming, another small orb of fighting spirit to go hurtling toward her, before socking her again for light damage. As eevee gets socked backwards once again she can only lift her head to find another small orb of fighting spirit hit her and send her tumbling into the wall once more.

At the end of the round:

Eevee has used very little energy, but took Solid damage.

Scizor again used a good bit of energy, but took very minor damage this turn.

"Good work Buggsy. Start off with a Leer, followed by a Focus Energy and finish it off with a Bullet Punch!"

[Stark]

Stark's hands squeezed into tightly clenched fists. The battle was quickly getting away from he and Eevee. His eyes narrowed as the other trainer issued his commands. Somehow, they had to find a way to get a good hit in on Scizor before they ran out of time. He bit deep into his lip as ideas raced through his mind. None of which offering a sure way of victory. As it was Scizor held the high ground. One way or another they needed to find a way to regain the momentum.

"Eevee! Hang in there girl!" he encouraged his partner, "Use another Sand Attack to try to throw him off. Then follow it up with a Thunder Wave to slow him down. Finally, I want you to rush at him and Tackle him right off the top of that fountain."

A bit miffed off about being outdone in the first few round, Eevee finds another clump of sand from the floor and throws it up towards scizor, only to find the sand had missed. As she stared in disbelief that she had missed with her attack, Eevee can’t help but stare as Scizor leers at her. Eevee becomes completely immobile, while Scizor uses the time to concentrates on the battle, raising senses, accuracy, attack, and evasiveness.

Eevee gets out of the leer with a shake of its head, before becoming angrier the scizor has pulled another one over it. Eevee then releases tendrils of electricity that binds the scizor down as it falls to one knee. Scizor forces her way out of the paralysis for the time being to coats its fist in steel energy and punches straight forward, causing steel energy to fly forward at terrific speed, dealing Mediocre damage thanks to its second focus energy. Eevee takes its chance and hurtles itself forward and upwards, tackling scizor for mild damage, before sending them both hurtling toward the ground, dealing Good damage to the both of them.

At the end of the round:

Eevee took a few hits there but is ok. Energy use was fairly little.

Scizor took less than eevee but once again used more energy. Scizor is also paralyzed.

Stark, your orders please.

[Stark]

"Now Eevee! While he's down Tickle him again!" Stark shouted to his partner. She had been taking the blows, but all things considered, she was holding her own against the bug. Stark was proud of her. Now he could only hope that he could live up to her expectations by helping her win her first battle, "Follow that up by Tackling him and then hit him with another Sand Attack."

"Buggsy, use a Quick Attack to get away from Eevee. Follow that up with a Leer and a Bullet Punch."

With the next round beginning, both trainers order their attacks. Eevee starts by running up to scizor, intent on tickling the big red machine however, with good timing, scizor effortlessly uses a quick attack to put some distance between it and the eevee.

Eevee looks back upwards and runs towards scizor, who stands there for a few seconds before glaring threateningly in eevee's direction, Leering to show she meant business, but eevee is no coward, and keeps following its Trainer's commands, running towards scizor before tackling it, causing good damage to the scizor. Scizor took the attack head on, its gaze fixed on its opponent before trying to punch at the speed of a bullet, only to find the paralysis lock up his muscles. Eevee takes advantage of this and attacks scizor’s eyes with sand, causing minor damage and flaring up the same eye weakness that has been targeted for a few rounds. As the round ends, scizors paralysis wears off.

At the end of the round:

Scizor took some good damage and is now close to half health. Energy use was minor and is a good bit below 3/4s

Eevee’s health took no damage this round, but is below scizor’s. Energy use is above 3/4s but only by a little.

"It's alright Buggsy, we can still win this thing. Okay, use a Vacuum Wave followed up by a [B}Bullet Punch[/B].

[Stark]

"Alright Eevee, try to dodge his attack and then push ahead until you get close enough to Tail Whip him. Follow that up with another Tackle," Stark called out to his little brown girl. The battle had been tough on her, but she was showing good resolve in the face of adversity. Stark couldn't have been prouder.

The trainer looked over at his opponent once more. The young man was confident. A good quality for a trainer, but despite having the size and power advantage he would find that Stark and his pokemon were not the type to just lie down when the odds were against them. His hand instinctively reached up and began rubbing the cheeks of the Taillow on his shoulder.

"You're up next buddy. Be ready," he said with a smile to his avian partner.

With the round ending, the two respective Pokémon stop blasting each other with attacks and turn back to their masters, nodding in coalition at the recognition of orders. As all attacks are given, both Pokémon stare into each other’s eyes before the next round commences, intending to rip flesh.

Scizor once again starts off by punching the air with such force that a small orb of fighting spirit to go hurtling toward. Eevee watches the orb fly towards it before recalling it’s orders, jumping out of the way, but slightly too late as the super effective attack clips the Eevee causing it to crash to the floor in a somewhat comical spin, dealing moderate damage.

Eevee gets back to it’s feet before taking a lunge at scizor, hitting it with its tail, to more disastic results as the size of eevees tail and the metal coat of scizor means only minor damage was done. As scizor laughs at the fluffy Pokémon’s attempt it coats its fist in steel energy and punches straight forward, causing the steel energy to fly forward at terrific speed to eevee, which, couple with the closeness of the two deals moderate damage.

With scizor out of the picture having used the attacks it was given, eevee pounced on the opportunity, literally as it lauches itself forward, dealing Mild damage.

At the end of the round:

Eevee had a bad round, and health now sits just above critical. Energy use was minor.

Scizor didn’t take much damage this round, but is getting closer and closer to eevee’s health. Energy use was slightly less than eevee.

[Stark]

"Eevee Tackle!" Stark shouted. The little brown pokemon was looking tired and one way or another she wasn't going to last much longer. This much was evident to Stark. It was make or break time. She had done all he had asked and for being as young and inexperienced as she was, she had done quite well. There wasn't much time left and Stark decided the best way to go would be an all out blitzkrieg. If anything it would wear the bug down enough for Taillow to get in and hopefully make quick work of him before having to face the gargantuan Tropius that awaited him, "Then use a Thunder Wave and try to Tackle him again!"

"Okay Buggsy you've got Eevee on the ropes. Finish her off with a Focus Energy followed by a Bullet Punch and Vacuum Wave!"

As both Pokémon take a well needed rest during the interval of rounds, the battle tolls are easily seeable, each Pokémon tired with visible cuts and bruises. As the trainers look on at their opponents Pokémon, each wishes to finish this turn of battle.

Eevee starts the round by once again running at scizor, the small brown fluffy Pokémon fighting through the pain before lunging itself at scizor, the body weight of the creature doing some decent damage with a critical hit. Scizor, falling to one knee, tries to focus his energy, but very little happens as the move has been used a couple of times during the battle, nullifying the boost by a fair amount. Eevee takes it chance to launch another wave full of electrical tenants towards scizor, the attack dealing minor damage and paralyzing the already weakened bug.

Scizor looks up at the eevee running at it, intent on tickling it and fights through the paralysis to deliver a mighty punch of steel that flies directly on towards eevee, hitting it dead on and sending it flying.

Eevee tries to stand up, before giving one last breath of exhaustion, falling over to reveal small circles in its eyes.

Eevee is unable to battle! Stark, please send out your next Pokémon and attacks please!

Scizor is looking bad, that critical hit has really put a dampen on the bugs health and it looks like a small breeze will KO it. Energy is just a little under last rounds. Scizor is also parylised

"Scizor, you can still do this! Start off using Quick Attack, followed up with a double dose of Vacuum Wave!"

[Stark]

Stark lowered his head slightly as mixed emotions of pride and disappointment filled him. Eevee had done fantastic job of facing a strong opponent. Unfortunately, she wasn't quite able to finish what she started. Still, Stark was happy for her. Surely she will get another chance in the future to win a battle. Afterall, considering this was her first time in combat and she nearly defeated a foe who had all of the advantages he couldn't feel sad. Smiling he held out a pokeball, depressing its button to send out a red beam towards Eevee.

"Eevee! Return," he said as the light receded back into the pokeball taking Eevee with it, "You were great girl."

The trainer turned his head to the side to look at the little black, white, and red bird perched on his shoulder and with a sly grin said, "Alright Taillow. Showtime! Let's finished what she started. Use a pair of Quick Attacks to try to bring that Scizor down fast. We still have that dinosaur looming over there so let's try not to waste too much time here. If he's still standing after the first two attacks Peck him until he goes down."

Tailow, an un-nicknamed male Tailow appears from a red aura as the replacement for the fallen eevee. The battle rages on with a tweet of revenge from the tailow as the scizor raises its head in triumph for the moment.

Totally out of energy, it’s the Normal/Flying-type who moves first and he gives the Scizor no resting time at all. The quick attack comes out of no-where and strikes the bug before it has a chance to move out of its range. This is not to say that he didn't trying, just that he couldn't get away. With a few cracks in the scizor’s amour already, it falls to the ground in contempt with its efforts, swirly circles in its eyes.

At the end of the round:

Scizor is unable to battle! PikaGod, please send out your next Pokémon and attacks!

Tailow is fresh out of the PokéBall and yet to take damage. Energy used was negligible and he has plenty left.

[Stark]

"Great job Taillow!" Stark called out to his avian partner. Surprisingly, Eevee had taken more out of the bug than he expected. Not that he was about to complain. The field was now level again and he would need to be as resourceful as ever if he was to win the match. Stark nodded toward Karmas in respect for the way his Scizor had battled and smiled.

"Alright Taillow, hit them with a Quick Attack and then get some altitude while you can Focusing your Energy. Finally, Fly back down and get 'em again."
