- The Adoption Center? Zion, I've looked extensively. There's nothing in here that interests me.
The Metagross had allowed him to ride on its head as he hovered above the ground with ease across the streets of bustling metropolis, to the amazement of passersby. The automaton knew it appealed to the young man's ego, and had grown to find amusement in Levin's quirks. Such were the wonders of feeling. Do you believe in coincidences? It is a concept I still struggle to comprehend. But I understand extreme improbabilities, being one such example. You will witness another one. Intrigued by Zion's words, Levin said nothing more. He knew better than to doubt the omniscient being. Levin dismounted and walked inside the Adoption Center, followed by the Metagross. It had been a long time since the Center was this full. For quite a while, it seemed as if every unwanted Pokemon could find a home; but with its borders closed, the number of Trainers journeying across Fizzy Bubbles stagnated, to the point where most had managed to find the Pokemon they sought - leaving no further room for less liked specimens. It came as no surprise that sooner or later, without rookies to take them home, Pokemon would start to fill the Adoption Center. Some had already been here for months on end, and their expressions showed it. That's one of the reasons I never came here anymore. Their expectant looks whenever a new face shows up at the door. Crushing their hopes as I leave. Damnit, as if I didn't have enough on my mind already. Levin had always hated expectations. Letting others down bothered him more than enraging, cheating or deceiving someone - he had no problems doing any of those. Failing to meet expectations was completely different, and simply by walking inside the Shop, he was already creating expectations he never meant to, and that he'd have to shatter all too soon. Your dream from last night. You relived your childhood. - This better be going somewhere. You were reminded of more than just your parents and brother. In that dream, you relived all the tales your mother told you about her homeland, and the great men and women of Heiml. Ivan told you of the strongest Trainers in the North, and you were reminded of how one day, you wished to travel to Heiml yourself to face them. - I have much to accomplish here first. Fizzy Bubbles' Elite Four lacks its Champion, and I'm going to fix that. But yes... Heiml intrigues me. Where are you getting at? Inside these walls is the offspring of a legendary warrior belonging to the one they call "God's Gatekeeper". - ... Drago? Before that boxing movie made the name famous, there was a veteran Dragon-Type Trainer who was already a living legend. Close friends with Heiml's Champion Gottfried, as well as his mother's mentor Vaugh Roth, Drago was one of the Elite Four of the northernmost region of the Pokemon World. The Gatekeeper's "War Axe", known as Jaeger. Drago's oldest and strongest Pokemon, famous for being undefeated in official matches. "Nobody breaks Drago's War Axe", as it is said. You too are familiar with this... common knowledge, correct? Levin couldn't help but notice how fluently Zion spoke. Overtime, since evolving into Metagross, its mastery of human language became so complete that it even perfected the arts of irony (which it seemed to love) and rhetoric. At times, it became hard to remember it was still mostly a machine, even if it had developed complex feelings thanks to Mazo. - Jaeger is Drago's signature Pokemon, and has never been beaten. That used to be the case when Ivan told me the story, yes. You can't seriously mean it's still true?... Jaeger remains undefeated. - Impossible... It is my deduction that Drago, in Jaeger's advanced age, sought to find a successor to his old "War Axe". Jaeger was allowed to breed upon finding a partner of his interest, and has since generated two descendants. The first one was kept by Drago himself. Afterwards the wild female, who was with child, was captured and brought to Fizzy Bubbles' Egg House as part of the land's business agreement with neighboring regions. Soon after her arrival, the second Egg was laid, hatched and the offspring was unknowingly dropped here by a Trainer with no use for such a specimen. - An offspring of the legendary Jaeger is here?! One must wonder if the Trainer would have left it here, had he known the truth behind its lineage. As it stands, the dragon has endured months of solitude in this facility. You have the chance to raise it as your own. Genetics do not lie - it should grow to become an unfathomably strong creature. Using its Psychic powers, Zion levitated one of the Pokemon from inside its chamber and onto the Shop's counter. Levin watched in stunned silence, before finally mustering the words and payment required to complete the transaction. - If this turns out to be true... Very well. I'd like to take this Lv 1 Male Axew with me. Here's the payment, $30. The dragon looked to be in terrible condition. Not physically, as he was tended to properly every day in the Shop, but mentally. He barely blinked throughout the whole thing, largely indifferent to his surroundings, as if numbed by the solitude. Perhaps the son of Jaeger couldn't cope with being abandoned despite his roots, and if that was the case, Levin had a long road ahead of him - but he'd succeeded with every other Pokemon he ever took from the Adoption center, and this one would be no different! He took Pokeball 9/30 (last one used) and tapped the dragon on the head, calling it inside with no resistance. - I'll fix you and set everything right. You're not an abandoned Axew anymore - you are Ajax, Son of Jaeger, and I'll give you your moment of glory! Tess Edit: Adoption confirmed. Last edited by enchantress; 03-23-2015 at 04:21 PM. |

Aw, look at these little ones! How are they so tiny? And what are they anyway, Dexelle?
Joltik, the Attaching Pokemon. Joltik are reliant on absorbing static from larger Pokemon in order to use their Electric attacks because they cannot produce their own electricity. Once the energy stored in their pouch is used up, they must attach to other Pokemon in order to absorb more. Those that live in cities have been known to use power outlets or nibble into power chords to gain electricity. *scoops one of them into my hand* Aw, they can fit in my hand too! The only bad thing is that I can only take one of them home with me...Still, I'd like to take this one home! Adoption: Lv. 1 Female Joltik Payment: $30 Pokeball: Pokeball (17/30) And it's all set! I tried raising a Spinarak before, but it didn't work out, so maybe I can raise a different spider...we'll have to find out, Charlotte! Tess Edit: Adoption confirmed.
