Fizzy Power Co. Raid Battle 3: VS Gigantamax Cinderace
Gigantamax Boss Cinderace ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 100% Shields Up: 0 Status: N/A Raid Challengers:
The response to deal with this Gigantamax threat had been nothing shy of shocking, a full wave of trainers appearing in no time at all. And even when some trainers realized they weren't up to the task at hand, they were replaced just as swiftly as they had come along by yet more waiting to take on the gargantuan rabbit. Riding atop its fireball, the Cinderace stares down at its foes as Slash's Dynamax band begins to glow, signaling the start of the coming battle. Dynamax Initiative: Slash, Druddigon.

Keith and Willa might not have brought any of their Pokémon on this date of theirs, but a Pokédex is a form of ID for Pokémon Trainers, so it came as no surprise that Keith had whipped out his and was currently scanning their adversary.
"Cinderace, the Striker Pokémon. A Fire-type, and the evolved form of Raboot," droned the device. "Gigantamax energy can sometimes cause Cinderace's fireball to exceed 300 feet in diameter. Infused with Cinderace's fighting spirit, the gigantic Pyro Ball never misses its targets, completely roasting opponents." "Yeesh," Keith murmured. "At least Norbert's a good pick to take a Fire move." "Haxor!" Norbert growled his agreement. "Indeed," nodded Willa. "Though my concern is more whether Fire moves are the only concern with Cinderace," she added ominously. "Mother told me that when she traveled to Galar, she battled a Trainer who had one. Evidently they get quite the variety of moves." "You're right, that is concerning," Keith agreed. "But for right now, the type advantage and the weather are both on our side," he added with a grin, for while they'd been looking up Cinderace, another combatant had Dynamaxed their Druddigon and unleashed Max Geyser, making it rain. "I take it, then, that Norbert's next move is an easy call to make," Willa said with a slight grin. "I'd say so," Keith grinned back. "Norbert, Aqua Tail, let's go!" he commanded the Haxorus. "HAXOOOOR!" roared Norbert, water swirling around his tail as he prepared to swing it at Cinderace. OOC: Norbert used Aqua Tail (90 BP; boosted by the rain). |

Gigantamax Boss Cinderace ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 62% Shields Up: 9 Status: Spd +1, Libero (Electric) Raiders: Reflect (4 Rounds) Weather: Rain (4 Rounds) Raid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Max Airstream (130 BP) Zelphon, Eevee: 244 HPAttack 2: Focus Blast (120 BP) Sneaze, Kingdra: 320 HPAttack 3: Electro Ball (100 BP) TheKnightsFury, Greninja: 252 HP Raid Challengers:
The raiders opting to Dynamax immediately in order to set up rain is a strategy that pays off well. A few hefty Water moves, combined with an absolutely devastating Hydro Vortex send the boss well passed the normal point for shields, forcing them up after the Z-Move finishes. But Cinderace is not happy, switching rapidly between types as it looses an absolutely massive amount of damage to the raiders, ending on Electric with an Electro Ball further boosted by a speed boost it had just given itself. Dynamax Initiative: Slash, Druddigon.

The fight got underway, and many were quick to capitalize on the sudden rainstorm, including and especially Gary and his Kingdra going for an immensely powerful Water-type Z-Move, pummeling the Cinderace with a Hydro Vortex! Keith and Willa were in awe of this, but did not take their eyes off the Fire-type. Or... Flying-type, as it briefly became as it let loose with a Max Airstream. And then it let loose a Focus Blast, and followed up with an Electro Ball.
"Yeesh," Keith remarked. "Cinderace is sure putting a lot of power behind those moves!" "Indeed," Willa nodded. "I wonder..." And she produced her Pokédex, scanned Cinderace with it, and pressed a few buttons. "Libero- Cinderace's Hidden Ability," droned the device. "Cinderace changes its type to match that of whichever move it is about to use." "So it gets the same-type attack bonus on everything," Keith murmured. "Whoa..." "Most concerning," Willa agreed. "Though Norbert has a wide variety of attacks himself," she reminded Keith. "Right now, Cinderace is an Electric-type, and Norbert knows Stomping Tantrum, does he not?" "He does, yeah, but that's not gonna do much good with these shields," Keith pointed out, for indeed, Cinderace had erected a particularly sturdy-looking barrier to block oncoming attacks. "No, I see what you mean," agreed Willa. "In that case, perhaps bolstering Norbert's defenses against said Electro Ball would be wise- Cinderace are speedy by nature, which makes for a powerful Electro Ball." "Norbert resists Electric, but even so, you make a good point," Keith agreed. "Especially with that Max Airstream- I know that one boosts Speed. I know just what to do," he added with a grin. "Norbert, now use Flame Charge!" he called out. "HAXOOOOOOOOOOOR!" roared Norbert as flames engulfed his entire body. The Haxorus stormed off towards the barrier to ram it at high speeds. OOC: Norbert used Flame Charge (50 BP; weakened by the rain). |

Gigantamax Boss Cinderace ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 62% Shields Up: 1 Status: Libero (Poison) Raiders: Reflect (3 Rounds) Weather: Rain (3 Rounds) Raider Healing Summary: Zelphon, Eevee: Soft-Boiled Zelphon, Eevee: 400 HPRaid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Max Shockwave (0 BP) Stat changes and abilities were reset!Attack 2: High Jump Kick (130 BP) Zelphon, Eevee: 166 HPAttack 3: Gunk Shot (120 BP) Lil'twick, Raichu: 256 HP; Raichu is Poisoned! Raid Challengers:
The raiders churn through a fairly large portion of the boss' shields, gaining some stat boosts in the process. Cinderace is having absolutely none of it, however, and Shockwaves the changes away, shrugging off the loss in speed it suffers as a result. This also leaves Greninja stuck in its standard typing for a round. A High Jump Kick comes out on Eevee, who had luckily healed earlier, preventing itself from getting knocked out here, but the blow still does massive amounts of damage. Cinderace then finishes with a Gunk Shot to deal a fairly large blow to Raichu, poisoning it to add insult to injury. Dynamax Initiative: Slash, Druddigon.

The fight continued to rage on, though this time around, Cinderace hadn't lost so much as a single hit point. Its shield was particularly durable, and so every attack launched its way only served to further crack said shield. But from the looks of things, this barrier was reaching its limit.
"It looks like one more attack will do it," Willa murmured after Cinderace had launched a volley of attacks. "Yeah, definitely, and about time, too," Keith nodded. "Maybe Norbert should go for another Flame Cha-" "No, no, I don't think so," Willa interrupted, shaking her head. "Norbert is one of the hardest-hitting Pokémon here.: "Hard to argue with that," grinned Keith. And so he waited, waited until Gary had his Kingdra use Bubble- the straw that broke the Numel's back, that Water move was enough to shatter the battier once and for all. "OK- it's a Poison-type now," Keith murmured, looking at Cinderace. "So Norbert, use your Stomping Tantru-" "Wait!" Willa exclaimed urgently. "It's still raining! I think Aqua Tail would be more effective here!" Keith Masters was good at many things. Math was not among them. And so there was really no way for him to try and work this out in his head, especially not in such a short window of time as what he had to work with. But if Willa was this sure, he found himself inclined to trust her judgement. "Change of plans, Norbert!" Keith exclaimed. "Aqua Tail, let's go!" "HAXOOOOOOOR!" Norbert bellowed, as water swirled around his tail once more. OOC: Norbert used Aqua Tail (90 BP; rain-boosted). |
