I think I would substitute the word 'ballsy' for 'respectable.

Wanted to listen to "Portobello Road" from Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Couldn't find the original available on YouTube (at least not from an iPhone). In my relentless search, I came upon this. I think the person who replied sums it up best.

:|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Ha. Neat. ... but how do we know for a fact that it's true? ¬_¬ And this one's just a bit too adult to post the pictures here. Even compared with this one.

I bookmarked this several days ago to share and then forgot to. But rediscovering it now, it is too adorable not to share:
My source, his source. Apparently this happened in a zoo in St. Petersburg, Russia. Pretty darn adorable.

As someone who has warned against trusting sellout Dr. Oz's medical advice since the day he first got his spin-off show, I found this John Oliver piece incredibly vindicating. Sad to see that it took this long before he was held accountable for his snake oil salesmanship. Glad to see it's finally happening though. Should give other would-be con artists pause for thought before they write that miracle weight loss book or sign on to do that miracle medical treatments daytime television show.

Oh man. I laughed way too hard at the end of that - did not see it coming.
EDIT the first: In other news, man gets stuck in vagina (SFW).

"The sculpture, called Pi-Chacan, was erected in front of the Institute of Microbiology and Virology at the university in 2001."
On purpose?

Japanese trigonometry homework.
To counterbalance that we have an apparently old story about StarFox 64.

So I don't want to be that guy who keeps posting Buzzfeed links but my country is terrible and I'm sad now. Warning: 7-9 denote coming of the apocalypse.
For further rage inducing, Russell Brand is still alive, inexplicably. |

I see #4 in the poorer side of Lafayette semi-frequently. Though usually at the supermarket (including Wal-Mart, as pictured). Not at a restaurant or at the bank though.
I rarely see #6 with all other seats filled, but in a college town you can bet that it's common to see when all other seats have not yet been filled. #9 is common everywhere and has to do with the international cocoa market. Started, iirc, around 2009. Chocolate prices were forecasted to double by around now (2013? 2014?) and quadruple by iirc 2020. There simply isn't enough cocoa to go around. #14 may have been inspired by similar culinary trends popularized by Taco Bell in the United States. (The crunchy burrito comes to mind.)

The fact that Freddos cost more than 25p is an outrage.

And they'll go off the market as a result. (That is, if this was not an isolated incident.) I'm not disagreeing with you on the point that 65 pence for 10p worth of chocolate is unacceptable as a consumer; I'm just saying that chocolate prices have risen considerably over the past five years because of the cocoa market and they will continue to rise considerably over the next five. Despite trying my best to find empirical proof of this fact -- tried finding prices of individual Cadbury's creme eggs, Snickers bars, and even generic "chocolate" in 1990 but came up empty-handed for each -- I did find one of the latest American journalism pieces on the topic, dated to April 2014. The article claims that China is one of the big contributing factors, with their demand for chocolate having "tripled" over the last four years. Of course it's important to know where the starting point for Chinese demand was; if four years ago the Chinese wanted as much chocolate as an America or a Germany, then sure, triple the demand would have a disastrous impact on the cocoa market. (Well, disastrous from our POV as consumers. Hilariously awesome for cocoa suppliers!) If on the other hand four years ago they wanted one tablespoon of chocolate and now they want three tablespoons, well, then I'd have to cry American fearmongering. The reality's probably somewhere in between, but where in between I have no idea, unfortunately. :\
