Kade then issued an order for Cradily to use Ingrain. The fossilized flora set to work planting its roots into the rock. This, Willa knew, would allow it to steadily recover what little damage it had taken thus far. Willa took a look at the situation- Cradily had taken minimal damage and was steadily healing it off, while Eelektross was already getting worn down from those blasted Future Sights. She wanted to put her faith in Eelektross here, but it was becoming increasingly obvious that this matchup was just bad news for Eelektross overall. She needed something that could take out Cradily more decisively, and none of Eelektross's moves fit the bill... Willa's train of thought was interrupted as Lapras cried out determinedly. Not at Willa herself, but at Eelektross. "Tross?!" Eelektross crackled in surprise, looking back at Lapras, who continued to converse with the EleFish Pokémon. After a moment of uncertain consideration, Eelektross closed his eyes and nodded. At the same time, Lapras looked back at Willa, and the two established eye contact. In that moment, Willa knew exactly what Lapras had in mind, and she nodded in response. "Come back now, Eelektross!" Willa declared, calling back the Electric-type into his Ultra Ball. Then, however, she turned back to her other three Pokémon, holding more Ultra Balls. "Yanmega, Decidueye, Mawile, back in your balls for the moment," she instructed them. The trio exchanged uncertain looks, but as they looked back at Willa, they saw how determined she looked- very clearly, she had a good reason for this. "...yan ya!" rumbled Yanmega, nodding. "Maw!" agreed Mawile. Decidueye gave an affirmative hoot as well. Willa smiled, withdrawing the three Pokémon. Then, Willa turned to the Water/Ice-type she'd most deliberately left out of her ball, though she clutched yet another Ultra Ball in her hand at the ready. "Ready, Lapras?" she called. Lapras called back determinedly, casting a withering, disdainful look at Kade before turning her attention to Cradily. She'd been paying attention, she knew Stealth Rock damage was imminent, but she couldn't afford to be deterred by this- she could still feel where the Sharpedo had attacked her, and she was determined that the Sharpedo's Trainer not get away with any of it. Willa took a deep breath. No doubt Kade would try and mess with this somehow, so she had to be quick. But as soon as Cradily had laid down its roots via Ingrain, Lapras knew this was a golden opportunity they couldn't very well pass up. And Willa knew she had to be quick to call Lapras back into her Ultra Ball immediately following this, whereupon she intended to send in Decidueye. "Use Perish Song!" Willa ordered. |

Missingno.Master- Things had taken an unexpected turn, but you weren't about to let one sneaky tactic throw you off. A delay occurs as Eelektross seems to converse with Lapras, what plan were the two Pokemon hatching? As Lapras looks back to you, you pick up on the plan and raise your Ultra Ball, preparing to recall Eelektross. As the red beam springs from the ball, Kade issues an order to completely disrupt your plan.
"Cradily, Block the switch!" Cradily shimmers and suddenly rocks shoot up out of the water, disrupting the beam and preventing Eelektross from being recalled! "I figured once the switching game started, you'd be tempted to keep it going. Hence why I went with Cradily. Do you know why I keep Cradily on my team? It's because when it comes to trapping Pokemon, Cradily is one of the best. Once it has its sights on you, there is no getting away unless I want you to." Kade chuckles, your entire plan was ruined! With Eelektross trapped in, you hold off on recalling the rest of your Pokemon. "Come on now, there is no running away from this fight. Come at me with all that you've got!" Eelektross looks back at you, unsure about how to proceed. It seems Kade has you in a bit of a bind, but this battle was far from over, really it had barely begun. Cradily continues to heal itself through its Ingrain, the fossil had set itself up well and it would be hard to displace. |

Willa gritted her teeth. She was screwed- Eelektross didn't stand a damn chance against Cradily and she knew it! And she needed Eelektross to take on that Cramorant later! The only way that was happening was if Eelektross beat Cradily, and fat chance of that happening at this rate! No. Willa stopped herself before she could think anything worse about her own Pokémon. Kade wanted this. He wanted her to lose focus, to doubt herself, to doubt her Pokémon, to never get far enough into the battle to expose him for the lying, cheating, sack of crap he had to be! Eelektross looked back uncertainly at Willa. The plan had been foiled, and he wasn't sure how to respond. His teammates responded as one, cheering for the Electric-type. Decidueye hooted shrilly; Yanmega gave several deep buzzes of encouragement; Mawile was shouting, jumping up and down, and gnashing the teeth of her larger mouth; and even Lapras was calling out encouragingly, seemingly unperturbed by the initial plan being foiled. But Eelektross was only focusing on his Trainer... who, seconds later, smiled reassuringly. "It's all you, Eelektross, as I said," she stated. "Use Charge Beam, then Zap Cannon, then Ominous Wind, now go!" |

Comfey appeared understandably alarmed and afraid by the demand, and Jess was about to (forcibly) refuse on its behalf when the Shiinotic sighed, sensing the answer already. As if relenting, it reluctantly held out the pixie prize, and Comfey smiled in relief as she hurriedly hovered over to collect her pal. "...Not!" Without warning, the crafty king thrust Flabébé in Jess's direction, causing the girl to panic as she fumbled and just barely caught the fairy safely. Meanwhile, Shiinotic took advantage of the momentary distraction to reach out and nab Comfey, immediately showering its unsuspecting prey in a cloud of SPOREs. The same glazed expression washed over Comfey as she drifted over in a daze to the hypnotic monarch, elegantly draping herself around its neck like a grand garland. The Morelull subjects' snickering increased as they admired their ruler's artfulness, who bowed and twirled to audience "applause", showing off its regal robe for all to see. Jess, however, was far from impressed from the emperor's "new clothes", and she looked to Iris and Lance, who nodded in agreement. Clutching Flabébé close so it wouldn't be drawn in as victim again as well, she spoke determinedly to the pair of remaining sentient partners: "Looks like this guy won't let us get away so easily... All right then, if it wants to play tricks, then so can we." Her voice dropped to a hushed whisper as she explained her strategy. "Lance, I want you to use WORRY SEED on Iris to make her less susceptible to those spores, since she's going to try and get close by using CAMOUFLAGE while you attract everyone's attention with a GRASSWHISTLE followed by DAZZLING GLEAM. Iri, when you get a chance, use STRING SHOT to grab onto Comfey so we can get out of here. If they try to pursue us, slow 'em down with a STICKY WEB."

Missingno.Master- Your plan had been foiled, but you weren't about to let Eelektross to go down without a fight! Your Pokemon cheer the electric eel on, hoping to give him the support that he needed to overcome the Cradily. Full of energy, Eelektross fires off a Charge Beam! The attack is resisted by the Fossil, but Eelektross finally gets a bit of luck and receives a boost to his special attack.
"Earthpower Cradily!" Kade orders and moments later, a pillar of ground energy erupts from beneath Eelektross. The Electric type is really struggling now, but he knows he has to continue to persevere. He begins to gather a large ball of Electricity. Normally a Zap Cannon would be hard to land, the attack was slow moving and easily dodged. However, his opponent had rooted itself in place, there was no way for it to run. Eelektross fires the attack, but as he does, Kade shouts another command. "Mirror Coat!" Cradily glows with rainbow light, the Zap Cannon strikes it, but as it does, Cradily uses the blow to fuel a powerful rebuttal. Eelektross is left devastated by the attack, the eel floats unconscious in the water! Eelektross has gained 3 levels! "Seems I have the upper hand after all!" Kade gloats, "what's your plan now princess?" Kade snorts, finding himself hilarious was easily one of his most infuriating qualities. Arguable one of your best water type counters had just been defeated and you knew that the bulk of Kade's team was sure to be Water types. You had to be careful now. On the plus side, you notice that Cradily seems to be struggling with paralysis, a parting gift from Eelektross that might just prove its downfall. |

Willa, however, couldn't dwell on this. One, it was frankly unhealthy for her to keep obsessing over every little misplay on her part, or else she'd surely distract herself to the point of making even more. Not good, to say the least, and definitely not a mindset befitting an Ace Trainer, let alone the daughter of a former Pokémon League Champion! As this occurred to her, Eelektross let fly the Zap Cannon. Another resisted hit, but a way stronger one than Charge Beam. Normally mitigated by how easy it was to dodge, but in this case, its target had planted its roots and wasn't able to move out of the way. And just as Willa had hoped, the move landed! As she hadn't hoped, however, Cradily retaliated with Mirror Coat, knocking Eelektross out on the spot. Yanmega, Mawile, Decidueye, and Lapras all voiced their vehement disapproval with Kade's taunting of their Trainer, though Willa kept her face impassive as she withdrew Eelektross. "You were great out there," she whispered to the Ultra Ball. "I'm sorry I ever doubted you. No more of that- we're a team, through and through." And once she put the Ultra Ball away, she already had her plan in mind, and Kade couldn't do a damn thing about it. At least, she hoped not, anyway. But then, with Ingrain not allowing Cradily to be withdrawn or to take any sort of evasive action, she couldn't see how this one would fail. "Lapras! Horn Drill!" she commanded. Lapras squealed as she swam forward, more than ready to land a decisive blow and deal calamitous damage to Cradily. No defensive boosts would save it, no amount of healing would ease the blow- Cradily could kiss its hit points goodbye here and now. *Eelektross grew to level 46!* *Eelektross grew to level 47!* *Eelektross grew to level 48!* |

Missingno.Master- Eelektross was down, but Cradily was sure to follow. Kade might have thought that he'd set himself up well, but what he'd actually done was back himself into a corner. You call on Lapras to finish the job that Eelektross had started. She was going in with certainty. Her horn begins to spin as she prepared to attack with an incredibly powerful Horn Drill! As she swims onto the battlefield, stones shoot out of the water, Stealth Rocks! The rocks pepper her, dealing a good chunk of damage and slowing her advance. Not that speed mattered at this point, Cradily wasn't going anywhere.
"Hmm well played", Kade lets slip a complement, how rare! "Cradily leave it with an Infestation." Cradily begins to swarm with bug energy. As Lapras drives her horn into the Cradily's hard head, the energy flows across to her. Cradily is knocked out instantly from the Horn Drill, but its parting gift leaves Lapras irritated as the bug energy swarms around her body. Kade withdraws the fainted fossil, placing the Lure Ball back on his belt he selects another and releases another Pokemon into the water. "Let's go Octillery!" The red octopus Pokemon bobs up and down in the water, eyeing off its opponent. "Octillery evolved from the first Pokemon I ever reeled in. My dad had taken me out fishing for my sixth birthday and I managed to reel in a Remoraid all on my own. Thinking back that was probably the moment I fell in love with fishing...." Kade shakes his head, shaking his mind from the pleasant memories in order to concentrate on the battle at hand. "Octillery is a living arsenal, just you wait!" |

Kade then sent out a red Pokémon with a large head and a cannon-like mouth. This prompted Willa to produce her Pokédex and aim it at the newcomer. "Octillery, the Jet Pokémon. A Water-type, and the evolved form of Remoraid," droned the device. "It prefers to live in caves, and will constrict foes with its tentacles before delivering a devastating headbutt." As it happened, however, Willa knew of the species, and made no effort to react to Kade's boast that Octillery was a living arsenal. Yes, yes it was a living arsenal, a highly versatile Pokémon boasting a wide range of potential moves. "Be ready for anything, Lapras," Willa instructed the Transport Pokémon. As she said this, Yanmega, Decidueye, and Mawile proceeded to cheer for their teammate, eliciting an appreciative smile from the Water/Ice-type. Willa said nothing, but Lapras began to act anyway, having read her Trainer's mind and knowing that Willa wanted her to go with Confuse Ray, Ancient Power, and Freeze-Dry, in that order. As Lapras prepared to get those attacks moving, Willa thought to herself. Slowpoke... Cramorant... Cradily... now Octillery... and I know he's got that Blastoise he was riding, too... And Sharpedo makes six, unless he was actually telling the truth about that old lady, which I sincerely doubt. Either way, we're that much closer to finding out for sure. |

Missingno. Master- With Octillery revealed, you now knew five out of six of Kade's Pokemon. If he did have Sharpedo, which you suspected he did, he'd be saving it for last. Lapras was already on the move, firing off a sparkling confuse ray to throw Octillery off from the get go. The attack hits its mark and Octillery shows immediate signs of confusion!
"Ahh you piece of crap", Kade spits, "Octillery you know how to get through this, Focus you Energy!" Octillery calms itself, showing off its years of experience it fights through the confusion, focusing on the energy flowing through its body. The pause creates a nice opening for Lapras though and the transporter Pokemon makes good use of it, peppering the octopus with an Ancient Power. She doesn't get the boost she is hoping for, but she at least made up for the hit she'd taken from the Stealth Rocks. "Latch onto it with a String Shot!" Kade instructs and Octillery quickly fires a precision shot. The string hits Lapras on the neck and she's shocked as the Octillery suddenly reels in the string, pulling itself onto her! The Octillery wraps its arms around her neck, positioning itself so its own head is behind Lapras's. "Constrict Octillery, don't let go!" Octillery tightens its hold, its powerful tentacles constrict around Lapras's neck, causing her a lot of pain and discomfort. To make matters worse, the Octillery's positioning made it difficult for Lapras to target it! She tries to line up a Freeze Dry, but can't get a clean shot! "Good luck getting him off now, his Suction Cups are notoriously strong!" |

Willa's mind worked furiously. Lapras needed to get Octillery the hell off of her, but how? Freeze-Dry wasn't gonna be that effective if she couldn't get a clean shot at her target. Thunderbolt would've been an optimal solution were they not in the water- Willa knew that if Lapras went for an Electric move, she'd fry everything in the river. She had one idea, but it was a definite desperation tactic, and whether Lapras could even use the move in this state was anybody's call- Constrict wasn't exactly Throat Chop, but with the current situation, Willa still doubted whether Lapras would be able to pull off a Perish Song... but then, did she need to? Willa suddenly realized, Lapras had a perfect move for this situation. She might not be able to target Octillery with it specifically, but the copious amounts of spinning involved, surely Octillery wouldn't like it! Lapras, shake it off with Drill Run! Willa thought urgently. What you target is unimportant, just make it dizzy enough that it lets you go! And once it does, hit it with Freeze-Dry the exact instant you get a clean shot, and if it's still conscious, we'll try a different status condition this time and Sing it to sleep. |

Missingno.Master- Lapras was in quite a tough spot, well it might be more accurate to say that the Octillery was in a tough spot for her to hit! She'd been outmanoeuvred and unless she could shake the Octillery free, she'd stay that way. She spins through the water, doing her best Drill Run to try and shake the octopus loose. She smashes through some rocks, leaps out of the water, doing everything she can to free herself of this burden. Try as she might though, the Octillery doesn't even loosen its strangle hold on her. Kade's brutal technique was really getting the rage starting to swell within you, your Pokemon were also starting to anger.
"Hang in tight Octillery! Blast it in the head with Bullet Seed and Rock Blast!" Octillery begins to fire immediately, shooting a stinging stream of seeds into the back of Lapras's head. The transport Pokemon lets out a muffled cry, she can do nothing to stop the attack. As the seeds stop, the rocks start. The repetitive thud of rocks clashing against the back of her head is terrible and its clear that Lapras is beginning to struggle. Her desperate cries begin to come melodious as she starts to sing through the pain. While Octillery's hold on her restricts the song slightly, it seems to be slowly taking effect. Lapras can feel Octillery's grip starting to loosen, this was her chance! She needed to shake the Octillery off now, because there was no way she could afford to cop another barrage of direct attacks.... |

Willa's other Pokémon, of course, were far more vocal in their disapproval. Yanmega's wings were mere blurs as he flitted to and fro in an agitated manner, letting loose deep, rumbling, almost threatening growls. Mawile was by this point shouting various obscenities and threats at Kade. And Decidueye actually started taking aim at Kade, albeit with no actual arrow quills at the ready, though with a low threatening hoot that only too clearly conveyed her displeasure. And all of these violent reactions were intensified as Kade piled on the pain with Bullet Seed and Rock Blast- truly a mark of how well-respected Lapras was by her teammates, as well as how much they all despised Kade by this point. Willa, however, paid her Pokémon no heed. She knew none of them would act on the violent urges they were seized with at this point, not without her command, and much as she too loathed Kade at this point, she wasn't about to issue such a drastic command. No, she knew her time and energy were better spent closely monitoring Lapras's situation, the better to be ready to give a command at a moment's notice. And sure enough, she could see that after the Sing, Octilery seemed to be slightly losing its grip! Lapras was noticing this as well, but Willa's words were still quick to sound in the Water/Ice-type's mind; Lapras, it's coming loose! Now's your chance- shake it loose once and for all! Then trap it in a Whirlpool, heal yourself with Life Dew and blast it with Freeze-Dry! |

lilboocorsola: Your Pokemon give determined cries as they jump to attention. Lance furrows his face as he channels energy int the bud atop his head, before launching a number of small orbs at Iris, the Worry Seed quickly seeping into her being and leaving her almost frightfully awake and aware. Her mental condition fortified, Iris scrunches herself low into the surrounding grass, pulling blades and leaves around her body and Camouflaging herself expertly. Shiinotic and his entourage seem unimpressed by this, ubt their nonchalance soon turns to suspicion as Lance begins to hum a lulling tune. Mouth pursed tight, the Budew was serenading all those that would listen with a gentle Grasswhistle, the melodic harmony managing to spirit a few of the onlooking Morelull to sleep. Shiinotic manages to stay resolute, but behind the glassy look there was a degree of panic - the overgrown fungus had lost track of Iris and had taken a guarded stance.
For a moment there is a stalemate, the only sound the harmonious notes of Lance. Then, like a gunshot, Iris strikes. A thin strand of webbing rockets from her mouth, the String Shot affixing to Comfey and abruptly yanking the Fairy away from Shiinotic. Grimacing, the mushroom lunges for COmfey, desperate to hold onto his prize, but Lance is quicker. A fraction behind Iris, the Budew suddenly glows with an intensely vibrant light, pink energies rushing through the air to strike at Shiinotic. More fortuitously, the Dazzling Gleam stunned Shiinotic - long enough for your group to rapidly begin your retreat, Comfey dazedly pulled through the air by Iris. As Shiinotic unleashes a baleful wail, you grab Comfey firmly but gently, cradling both it and Flabebe in your arms as Iris spews a Sticky Web in the direction of the Morelull gang. Thundering back the way you came, the trees feeling more claustrophobic than ever before, you briefly glance over your shoulder to a bizarre yet terrifying sight. While a handful had been slowed, and indeed stopped by the Sticky Web, a not insignificant gaggle of Morelull were taneciously hopping after you ... and more worryingly, Shiinotic was nowhere to be seen.

Missingno.Master- Lapras finally had an opportunity. She shakes around wildly, although the Octillery's grip had loosened, she was still struggling to shake it loose. Choosing not to use a move to rid herself of the nuisance unfortunately gives Kade an opportunity to reply.
"Onto that rock Octillery, then get ready!" Octillery suddenly releases itself from Lapras's neck, leaping across to a nearby rock. A relieved Lapras takes a deep, unrestricted breath, before spinning around in the water to face her opponent. She gathers a swirling whirlpool above her horn before sending it towards Octillery. "Bounce now Octillery, rain Seed Bombs from above!" Suddenly the octopus springs upwards, using its powerful tentacles to force itself up into the air. Lapras's whirlpool misses its target, Octillery is well out of reach. Lapras begins to glow, healing herself with a Life Dew. Unfortunately any health she would of gained is wiped away as Octillery launches its assault. Seeds explode violently all around Lapras, she does her best to avoid them but Octillery's marksmanship is impressive. Lapras is clearly struggling. As Octillery begins to fall back down towards the water, Lapras seeks a bit of vengeance. She smashes the opposing Water type with a chilling Freeze Dry, dealing a hefty amount of damage. Octillery splashes back down into the water, disappearing under the surface for a moment before popping its head back up. "I think its nearly down for the count Octillery, give it a Charge Beam!" Sure, Kade was being cocky, but he wasn't exactly wrong. Lapras had endured a lot, surely she couldn't handle much more...." |

All around Willa, her other Pokémon cheered for Lapras. Yanmega was giving loud, rumbling cries of support; Mawile was jumping up and down; and Decidueye was hooting shrilly. And Lapras, in response, turned slightly and gave them all a gentle, reassuring smile. She was not about to be taken down so easily. Willa gave a small smile, knowing this to be true. Now, Lapras, Dive and evade that Charge Beam, she thought, a mental command Lapras picked up on loud and clear. Give it no time to react before you trap it in a Whirlpool. And then, another Freeze-Dry should finish the job. |

Missingno.Master- Lapras was clinging on, the odds were completely against her. You weren't about to give up though and neither was she. Octillery fires off its Charge Beam, a surge of energy runs through it as well, boosting its Special Attack. The sparkling beam of electricity spears towards Lapras, but the cunning transport Pokemon dives beneath the surface, avoiding the attack completely. Kade hisses as his attempt at a finisher fails. Surging forward, Lapras begins to swim around Octillery at a startling pace, leaving the octopus trapped in a swirling whirlpool. While Kade shouts at Octillery, trying to get the Pokemon to steady itself, Lapras takes the initiative. Taking careful aim, she fires off a Freeze Dry, managing to strike Octillery despite the Pokemon being trapped in the Whirlpool. Ice spreads across the Octillery and although it struggles, the attack soon does its job....
Octillery stops struggling. The opposing Water type slips into unconsciousness, but continues to spin in the Whirlpool. Kade cusses under his breath, recalling his Pokemon as the Whirlpool settles. Lapras breathes a sigh of relief, although she knows the fight is far from over. "Nothing but luck, it won't last", Kade spits, "we'll finish you off soon enough!" Kade tosses out a ball, releasing his Cramorant once more. "Cramorant, its up to you to finish this pest off!" Momentum was back in your favour and Kade was starting to act rashly. If you could take advantage of his current state of mind, perhaps you could further cement your position? |

Of course, with Willa relying on Lapras's mind-reading capabilities to be able to silently relay her orders, her other Pokémon didn't hear a word of it, but this didn't stop them from cheering on their teammate, emboldened by Lapras's victory over Octillery. Decidueye, Mawile, and Yanmega were all cheering Lapras on, a fact Lapras both noticed and appreciated, the same gentle smile on her face as she stared down the Cramorant before her. Whether this would work or not was anyone's guess, but by the fins of Kyogre, Lapras would give it her best shot. She could still kinda feel it where Sharpedo had bit her, and if her efforts could contribute to the Sharpedo's Trainer getting what he deserved, she was all for it. |

Their plan set in motion, Lance doused Iris in seeds of doubt that kept her alarmed but also on high alert. The caterpillar then squatted low to the earth, tugging blades of grass towards her as she wrapped herself in a cozy, camouflaging cocoon. Despite the direness of the situation, Jess couldn't help but find the image surprisingly cute. The Shiinotic and his followers were far from impressed by the magic vanishing act on the other hand, yet their attention was soon diverted by the accompanying soundtrack of a soothing lullaby. Gentle notes tumbled forth from Lance's lips as he sang a gorgeous melody that would make the Comfey conductor cry were she coherent, but she was already lost off in her own world along with Flabébé. Instead the haunting harmony enraptured several of the Morelull to sleep, and while Shiinotic attempted to resist the enchantment, behind his glassy gaze panic started to swim in those pitch black irises - for he had lost track of Iris herself amongst the sea of leaves. As the giant shroom struggled to stay vigilant, the air was still save for the sound of Lance's song. Then, a strand of silver shot from below suddenly pierced the calm, affixing itself to Comfey before the Shiinotic could even blink. With a quick tug, the fishing line reeled its prize into the brush, like Hades snapping up poor Persephone to take her to the underworld. In this case though, the true captor lunged desperately after his prey in an effort to prevent her escape - which might've resulted in a painful tug-o-war had he not been immediately blinded by a holy light emanating from the thief's pied piper partner. Thus, Jess successfully scooped up the confused Comfey and cradled her next to her flower fairy friend as she began to beat a hasty retreat, aided by Iris unraveling another spool of webbing to ensnare the remaining Morelull before they could pursue. As the group scampered through the suffocating woods for dear life - ducking branches left and right - Jess glanced back to see a truly bizarre but horrifying sight: a mob of relentless mushrooms hopping mad after them, with their leader strangely nowhere to be found. "Jeeze, these guys just don't give up, do they?" She gulped. "All right, let's see if we can slow them down any further. Iris, trap them in an ELECTROWEB, and Lance you distract them with a FLASH as well as set up some SPIKES. Both of you try to use GRASS KNOT to trip them up as well. Iri, keep an eye out for Shiinotic, and be ready to SAFEGUARD if necessary."

Missingno.Master- You'd taken down half of Kade's team at this point. You knew he still had Blastoise and the inevitable Sharpedo up his sleeve, but before them you had to get rid of this Cramorant. Continuing to communicate silently, you order Lapras to sing. If you could put the bird to sleep, it would give Lapras an opportunity to heal herself. The transport Pokemon begins to sing, but Kade isn't having any of it. "Not so fast", the fisherman spits, "THROAT CHOP!" Cramorant caws, swooping in quickly towards Lapras. The tired water type's tune isn't taking effect fast enough. She lets out a muffled cry of pain as Cramorant strikes her right in her already tender throat.
Despite failing to put the Cramorant to sleep, Lapras attempts to heal herself with Life Dew. As she glows, Kade gives Cramorant orders. "Cramorant, use Rain Dance, then hit it with a Hurricane!" Cramorant tilts its head backwards, quickly firing an orb into the sky. As the orb bursts, clouds quickly begin to form, dropping a steady stream of rain down on the battlefield. Lapras has nearly completed her healing process when Cramorant begins to flap its wings. Enhanced by the power of the storm, Cramorant creates a powerful Hurricane that batters Lapras mercilessly. Lapras is rocked and tossed by the powerful wind, but thankfully she manages to avoid confusion. As she rights herself, Lapras fires a chilling Freeze Dry at the bird. The attack hits its mark, dealing a lot of damage to Cramorant, but its certainly not enough to bring it down. As the rain continues to pour, you've got to wonder whether Lapras is going to be able to take down Cramorant after her struggles with Octillery. |

As if that wasn't enough, Lapras still tried to heal herself up, even while still open to attack, and Kade jumped on this chance, setting up Rain Dance and following up with Hurricane for major damage. Lapras was able to land a powerful Freeze-Dry afterwards, though- it wasn't enough to take Cramorant down altogether, but it was easily the biggest chunk of damage the Gulp Pokémon had taken thus far, and Willa was willing to take that much, at least. Lapras glanced back at her Trainer and teammates, and gave a strained, muffled cry. However, as screwed up as it sounded thanks to Throat Chop's effect, Willa could feel the determination in it nonetheless. She gave a small nod in response, seeing the reassuring smile she was getting from Lapras. It was becoming more and more clear to the Transport Pokémon that she was most likely not getting that rematch with Sharpedo after all. But damn if she wasn't going to give this her all in any case- she would do all she could to contribute to this boy's defeat. Even if she hadn't been motivated to do so by knowing it to be the right thing, she would most certainly have done so for the others- her teammates looked up to her as sort of the team mother, and Lapras knew it. In the wild, she would stop at nothing to fight for those she considered family, and it would be no different here. As long as she had even so much as a singular hit point remaining, that was enough to keep her fighting. Do your best, then, Lapras. We all believe in you, Willa thought. Freeze-Dry once more, and follow up with Brine. If you're still able to fight after that, Brine once more. |

The exhausted Lapras was showing an amazing amount of resolve. After the pain and torment that Octillery had inflicted upon it, it was still managing to push forward and wear down Cramorant. With her teammates cheering her on, she prepares to blast Cramorant with another Freeze Dry. A chilling cold gathers in her mouth, she takes aim and lets loose the freezing blast. Cramorant is slow to react, perhaps slowed slightly from the last attack. Its hit hard by the Freeze Dry, which deals a staggering amount of damage to the derpy bird. "Damn it Cramorant!" Kade shouts, "you're moving too slow, use Agility!" Cramorant lets out a groan before rapidly flapping its wings and increasing its speed. Confident that it has Cramorant on the ropes, Lapras follows up her Freeze Dry with a salty Brine!
"Dive now Cramorant!" Kade shouts and Cramorant quickly responds. The waterbird spears downward into the water, avoiding the brine with ease. Lapras looks around, trying to sense where the Cramorant will emerge from as she prepares another Brine. "Rise now Cramorant and show off your catch!" Cramorant bursts out of the water, but something is off. Head craned back, Cramorant seems to have something lodged in its throat! The Pikachu's tail is impossible to mistake, how had it managed to pull a Pikachu out of the middle of a river?! Lapras fires her Brine, hitting her target without issue. Unfortunately that is exactly what Kade wants. As Cramorant is struck, it is forced to throw up the Pikachu that it is gorging on. "Gulp Missile!" The Pikachu surges towards Lapras at ridiculous speed, striking her head on. The electric mouse lets out a powerful burst of electricity, overwhelming Lapras. As the transport Pokemon slips into unconsciousness, the Pikachu flees, getting as far away from Cramorant as possible! Lapras is unable to battle! Lapras gained 4 levels! |

"Wow." Revel's first adventure is marked by nothing else but her breath taken away by the view of Mt. Zephyria in the distance, surrounded by lush greenery and small towns. Listening to trainers' stories in Saffron City, she'd definitely heard about Cloud Garden. Many people, not without bouts of exhaustion from the terrains they crossed, have come here to meet the gods themselves. Did they really? The clouds that cover the peak of the mountain hold so much mystery that Revel could only dream to find out...

There was a stunned silence as Willa wordlessly withdrew Lapras. Finally, she held the Ultra Ball close to her. "...thank you, my friend," she murmured. "You fought very well. We'll take it from here." As she minimized the Ultra Ball and stowed it away, she thought about the Pokémon around her. Mawile was raring to go, gnashing her steel horns, and Yanmega buzzed restlessly... but there was no way in the Distortion World Willa could send in Yanmega. Not just yet. Not with thngs set up the way Kade had them. She knew good and well what Stealth Rock would do to something with as huge a weakness to Rock as Yanmega's. No, getting rid of the Stealth Rock had to be her top priority, and fortunately, the other Pokémon eagerly awaiting its turn to wipe that smug smirk off Kade's face was very well-equipped to do just that. Willa gestured forward. "Decidueye!" she called. She heard an affirmative hoot in response as the Grass/Ghost-type flew in, ready for action. Decidueye knew the Stealth Rock was coming, and secretly, she was thanking Virizion that she now boasted a secondary type that took away her old weakness to Rock- elseways, this Stealth Rock business would do a lot worse to her. Willa allowed herself a small smirk. "Use Defog right now," she ordered Decidueye. "Hold it with Spirit Shackle and finish it with Razor Leaf!" *Lapras was elevated to level 44!* *Lapras learned Safeguard!* |

CrazyCreeperKid:
While Pachirisu happily munched down on the berries he was given, Brianna contemplated Liatris’ offer to accompany her in surveying the Cloud Forest the next day. It was an interesting proposition for sure, but Brianna had other plans in mind. She politely declined Liatris’ offer, stating that she was interested in exploring the area on her own. However, she did ask for a map to help assist her in making a decision of where she wanted to go as well as guide her to reach her destination. A warm smile formed on Liatris’ face as she reached into her bag. “Of course, and if it’s of any assistance to you, I can give you a brief description of areas that might pique your interest. Here.” Having pulled a parchment of paper out of her bag, Liatris unfolded it and handed it to Brianna. Spoiler: show Letting Brianna hold the map of Mt. Zephyria, Liatris began to point to specific areas on it and described them as she went. “So, starting from the bottom right we have Galea Town on the edge of the lake. To the North of town you’ll be able to find the Rose Garden as well as Oran Orchard. Both are places where you’ll find lots of Grass type Pokemon, and the fruit and the flowers you’ll find there at this time of the year are really vibrant. Heading west from town are the Galea Plains, which is where we are, and they run parallel to the Cloud Forest and the Starline River. The Cloud Forest is where you’ll find a lot of Bug and Flying type Pokemon, and the Starline River is great for fishing. The further west you go, the river will approach the Starline Waterfall as it heads up the mountain, and you’ll find the Stone Shrine there as well. It’s a great sightseeing location and as the name suggests, is home to a lot of rock and ground type Pokemon. Feel free to keep the map and ask me any questions if you have any. If not, I wish you the best of luck on your adventure!” mespiritchaser: Impressed by the amount of nature around them, coming in stark contrast from their urban origins, Revel and Chachi the Piplup were enticed by the juicy berries of the Oran Orchard and strolled up to it for a closer look. The fledgling pair was intrigued by the farm, hoping to learn more about the family who ran it. As they made their way into the orchard, the trainer and Pokemon partner spotted a young man who was busy picking Leppa Berries from a tree and placing them in a wooden bucket. He met eyes with the visitors and waved at them with a “Howdy,” greeting them over. The boy smiled as they approached him, his extroverted personality hardly reserved at all around strangers. “Come to visit the first harvest of the year? You picked a great time! The berries are nice and sweet right now.” He reached into the bucket and held out two Leppa Berries for each of them to taste. “On the house. My name’s Isaac, by the way. Isaac Applewood. As the eldest son, I help with most of the harvesting around here.” As Isaac talked, Revel noticed a teenage girl poking out from a tree behind Isaac, several yards away. She had long brunette hair that was in braided pigtails and covered by a red polka dot bandanna on top. A pair of round glasses framed her freckled face and was dressed modestly in a pair of dirt-covered overalls. She seemed to be creeping closer and closer as she snuck behind the trees. “One of our family mottos is that ‘if you don’t work, you don’t eat,’” Isaac said, hoisting up the bucket as the girl lunged forward and face-planted into the grass. “Guests excluded, of course. This is my little sister, Ringo,” he smiled as the girl slowly got to her feet and dusted herself off, oblivious to the clump of grass stuck between her glasses and the side of her face. “Fiiiiineee…” the girl groaned as she picked up a nearby bucket and started to wander off slowly. “Sorry about that, she’s still in her rebellious phase,” Isaac chuckled, “Feel free to bother her if she looks like she’s not getting any work done. Forgive my abruptness, but I’ve got a lot more trees to hit today. You’re welcome to look around however you please though!”

Revel and Chachi are enthusiastically greeted by the boy, named Isaac. He introduces himself as the eldest of his family - the Applewoods - and that he does most of the harvest work in the orchard. He kindly gave them Leppa berries to taste, and Revel is impressed by the sweetness. She also notices the sparkle in Chachi's eyes as he happily chews on his. As she listens to Isaac, she also marvels at the fruitfulness of the orchard. Even with the amount of berries in Isaac's basket, it seemed like he still has plenty of trees to work with.
