Sandaa: You weren't feeling confident about Phanpy's reaction at first, but to your delight, the Pokemon obviously wanted to go with you. You held out a Poke Ball, which the elephant cautiously sniffed before tapping it apprehensively with his trunk. The item made its typical sound, a red light enveloping the creature and swallowing it up. The sphere wiggled twice in your hand before falling still-- Phanpy was caught!

"Well, congratulations on your catch!" Bill complimented. "You going to give it a name?" While he waited for your answer, he offered to assist with the rope, taking one end to start securing it to the Feraligatr with some expert knots while you worked on Raphael's side. The trainer straightened up, dashing his clothes and hands of any excess sand, before adding, "Oh, before I forget, you should take these, too."

The man moves to put a Friend Ball and $200 in your hand, which you pack away before you lose them to the waves or whims of a potentially-wakeful 'gatr. "It was good to meet you. Stay safe on those isles. I'll send a message to some of the guides I know and see if any of them want to give you a tour. Just try to stay out of trouble and enjoy a vacation, yeah?"

Adventure Rewards:

- Lvl 5 Male Phanpy
- Friend Ball x1
- $200

Now move to the Mints before I get writers block, jerkwad.

Gary pumped his fist and held Phanpy’s Pokeball up in the air as the small elephant allowed himself to be captured. As Bill congratulated him, Gary beamed. “Thanks! I think I’ll call him Trunks, a cute and fitting name for the little guy.” Gary chuckled and watched as Bill gave him some compensation for his troubles and having to cut his vacation on the beach short. The man even offered to call ahead to the Mints and notify his contacts to await Gary as a tour guide. Gary graciously pocketed the items in his waterproof bag (as a water Pokemon trainer who spent most of his free time in various bodies of water, nearly everything he owned was either waterproof or of a quick-drying material).

“That sounds great,” he replied as he stuck out a hand to shake, “I really appreciate everything!” He then turned back to Raphael, who was chilling in the wake of the waves that ebbed and flowed up the shore. The rope had been securely tied to the cannons on his big brown shell as the Blastoise looked ready to go. Gary looked back at the three children as well as the other beachgoers who had stuck around to see them off. “Alright everyone, see you around! We’ll keep in touch!” Gary called out with a wave.

As Raphael got on all fours and proceeded to slowly march out into the tide, Gary climbed onto the Blastoise’s back. The heavy Feraligatr caused quite the resistance in the sand, but with a bit of Raphael’s Strength, he was able to pull it into the water, where buoyancy made the job much easier. Ever the cautious trainer, Gary pulled out a familiar Dive Ball and tossed it, returning Aero back into the ocean. “Alright Aero, we’re headed off to the Mints! If you notice this Feraligatr stirring at all like it’s about to wake up, give us a heads-up and keep it sedated with a Confuse Ray.” The Mantine smiled and nodded, just happy to be able to stretch his wings in the open ocean.

Her eyes catch onto the Barboach, burrowing a little bit into the mud and she spins in the water, lacing a current of water with the energies from beyond the grave. On the surface, all you’re able to see is that pale glow and purple tendrils reaching out deeper into the water. You hear a whimper from below and Hope rises back up, nodding to your Grass-types.

Anna and Kaitlyn prep their shots at the Barboach, charging up from the environment around them. You notice them radiate a light green light. Caeda watches from above, stalking with talons at the ready. They watch a thin black shadow in the water poke it’s head up - likely about 10 feet away now from the coast, where the fish was much closer before. Your two Grass-types fire off thin beams of energy, and the Skarmory from above soars downwards. But as soon as those thin lines connect, Barboach cries out in pain, a sad, heartbroken whimper. Barboach dives beneath the water, so far down now that none of you are really able to see anything at all...

Caeda loops around a little bit, but no matter how far across the water she travels, there’s no thin shadow in sight within the water. Even close to you, you look into the water and see no signs of life. It seems like the Barboach wasn’t looking for a fight after all. What will you do?
Liawe waited with bated breath for the results of her orders, but the results were nothing like what she anticipated. The Barboach surfaced, following Hope's bait, only to take a pair of calamitous hits from her Grass types and wilt into the lake. Caeda circled overhead, preparing to strike, but the creature didn't resurface, and so Caeda loosed a screech of victory as she glided down to the rest of the squad. Meanwhile, Liawe stood there, appalled. She'd never fought in a Pokemon battle before, but that... That was overkill. She felt horrible for what she'd had her team do. The little fish was probably only playing, Kaitlyn hadn't even come to any harm from it, and yet they'd just annihilated the fish with no semblance of remorse. As she and Calem looked at the rest of her squad chatting among themselves, she could see she wasn't the only one who might be regretting their actions. Kaitlyn was practically sobbing, as Anna floated closer to try and cheer her friend up, while Caeda chattered away to (she assumed) try and calm the girl down. Hope on the other hand, was scanning the waters as if she wanted a Round 2 with the poor battered fish. As she made her way over to her team, she wondered what sort of a psychopath she'd picked up in the Shuppet.

As she arrived, Kaitlyn sped over to her and attached herself to her Trainer's leg, clearly upset by what she'd wrought upon the poor Barboach, while Anna quickly followed after her fellow Grassy friend. Caeda moved over and affectionately pecked her softly in the leg, before rubbing her head on the girl's thigh, while Hope floated, barely acknowledging her Trainer's presence. "Hope!" she called. "It's over, let it go." The Ghost type was clearly unhappy with this, but begrudgingly returned to her Trainer's side, still casting frequent glances over the water. Liawe sat down and picked up her Petilil, who was still visibly shaken by the events, stroking her head as she reassured her leafy accomplice that the blame did not lie with the terrified Petilil. Finally having calmed the green gal, she put her down and rummaged around in her bag, producing a few more snacks to settle her team after their uneasy encounter, which were soon being slowly eaten by everyone except Hope, who was still on the watch for the Barboach's reappearance. Liawe couldn't help but wonder, what if she hadn't overreacted? The Barboach was probably only just playing with Kait. What if indeed...

Sandaa: Trunks was a cute name for a cute Pokemon, although it was also the name of a character from a renown shounen anime, which meant that for all you knew, it'd grow up to be some overpowered destructive force that made dramatic and scary facial expressions. At his age, things could go anywhere! You gratefully accepted your rewards, and then off you went, using the Blastoise's epic Strength and brought out Aero as a bodyguard. You tease-- the kids would probably be upset that they weren't there to wave the favoured Mantine off, especially Joe.

The sea air was salty but refreshing (keep your mind out of the gutter, you're disgusting), and although part of you was worried about the Feralgatr stirring, it was hard not to just enjoy the trip for what it was. With the speed of your mount, the cluster of islands rapidly drew closer, even with such a weight behind; the view overflowing with golden sands and great, lush greenery. Your excitement built, even with the amount of time the trip was going to take. The sun was hot, and you were at risk of burning. Oh, well.

Raphael took the great beast the furthest he could to the other end of the Mints before the shallows meant that he was dragging his breathing cargo on foot or before there was simply no convenient place for you to disembark. At a glance, this area of the Mints looked like everywhere else did further away: a quiet beach on the edge of a vast, mysterious jungle. On the way, Bill had messaged you to ping your coordinates if you planned to stay. A new adventure potentially awaited you where your Pokemon had beached, if you chose to take it, or you could switch places or simply leave. What now?

"According to this map.....it appears this is the Blue Valley." A Snover said in perfect English. The Snover appeared to be following his trainer as they made their way through the Minnao Isles, a small map clutched between his hands.

"This is the Blue Valley? It's beautiful!" The Snover's trainer exclaimed as she admired her surroundings.

That trainer was none other then Anna, an up and coming trainer from Isshin village. Though she lacked the experience of most other trainers in the Fizzytopia region, Anna was determined to fix that. And what better way then a trip to the Minnao Isles?

"Sewaddle Sewaddle." Leif nodded as he clung to his trainers shoulder.

"There's so much to do though...it's kind of overwhelming." Anna remarked as she readjusted the sunhat on her head.

"Waddle." Leif nodded once more.

"Well then....Leif..Benny...where do you think we should start?" The young trainer asked.

"Sewaddle. Waddle Sew." Leif frowned.

"Leif says he doesn't know." Benny translated, looking up from his map. "And neither do I, for that matter. I'm sure you can come up with something though. You're our trainer, after all."

"Right." Anna nodded in response to her Snover's words. "Then....let's keep walking this way for now. I'm sure we'll find something of interest soon enough."

Receiving no complaints from either of her Pokemon, Anna continued her walk, curious at just what she'd be able to find.

As they traversed the ocean, heading away from the mainland and towards the untamed island known as The Mints, Gary had a hard time trying to not take in the surrounding environment. Their current task at hand was of the upmost importance, and a dangerous one at that. The sleeping Feraligatr wasn’t going to tow itself, so while Raphael took care of the manual labor, Gary and the flanking Aero tried their hardest to keep lookout on the slumbering giant and alert the Blastoise if there was any stirring.

Fortunately their journey to The Mints was peaceful and quiet for the most part. As they neared their destination, Gary could spot the untamed jungle that sprouted from the ocean on the horizon. Drawing closer, the shoreline became more detailed; a thin beach separated the shallows from the lush green jungle beyond. In order to unload their cargo, things would get a little bumpy if they were to come ashore, so Gary now had a decision to make: drop the Feraligatr and leave the area, or follow through with the plan to give this island a thorough exploration.

Gary pat Raphael on the head as the Blastoise made his way onto the sandy beach and recalled Aero back into his Dive Ball, thanking him for his service. Once the water was shallow enough to wade, Gary hopped off of Raphael’s shell and watched him pull the Feraligatr onto the bank. With the swiftness an acrobat, Gary reached out to loosen the ropes and yank them off the Feraligatr before darting backwards out of its reach. Once he had secured the rope and cleared the Feraligatr’s reach, he planned to go ahead and send Bill his coordinates. He thanked Raphael for his hard work as well, returning the Blastoise to his Net Ball.

EpicSquirtle: There were plenty of places to explore in the Fizzytopia region, but this one was perfect for the time of year and less treacherous for a trainer of your calibre. What you lacked in experience, though, you made up for with uniqueness: a talking Snover accompanied yourself and the cute little Sewaddle (or more accurately, a Snover who spoke in the common tongue). Benny probably wasn't enjoying this jaunt as much as you and the bug, though-- the valley's shady areas provided some respite, but heat wasn't exactly best for a winter tree.

The three of you lazily follow the map held in the branches of the dual-type, hoping to find something of intrigue. This was a special place for many trainers near your age and stage of adventuring, as the Blue Valley was the root of many lifelong friendships. It's an area, too, of some beauty and serenity, the type of place that one would remember fondly in their old age from momentous occasions and vacation days. Wait, scratch the serenity, some kid's crying. It is a resort island (ish) in summer (maybe), what did anyone expect?

“Help me! Someone help m-- give that back, that's mine!” Up ahead, the three of you overheard the desperate, panicked crying of a small girl. Something was up, obviously, but was it really worth ruining your good day for? Really?

-

Sandaa: The mission had gone swimmingly thus far, so it would have been a shame to lose out now by having your arm or something else ripped off by the Feralgatr. As such, you were quick to back away from the beastie, and although it seemed to be stirring and grumbling; the sounds were faint. There was plenty of time for your team to skeddadle, which is exactly what you did, messaging Bill to let your friend know that the trip had been successful and where you were. It was less than two minutes before you received an enthusiastic and grateful response, with the retailer suggesting you move to another, specified spot for the guide to meet you.

The walk east up the shoreline is brisk but not uncomfortable, although part of you has an ear out for an angry gatr incase it tried to track your sandy steps for vengeance. Deep breaths. Time seemed to pass slowly while you waited, but it wasn't actually very long before you saw your guide – or so you presumed – drift over the treetops with the help of a Drifblim. As if descending with a parachute, heavy duty boots slid across the golden grains, the Pokemon pulling him to a stop not far away before unravelling its tethers from the man's wrists. One day, he was probably going to get said wrists snapped doing that. Health and safety and all that.

“Hey there, are you Gary?” The man greeted. He might have been a bit younger than you, but then he also might have had a youthful face: white hair with a faint hint of blue, in a short windswept mess above tanned, cheerful features. The guide's tanned cheeks were flush, and he was dressed like someone who knew how to adventure in a place like The Mints, his belt holding five spheres, not all the same. Drifblim floated here and there, letting the wind carry itself, neither seemingly concerned that the ghost might wander away to steal a living soul while you chatted. You confirmed your name. “I'm Masao, Bill sent me over. Sounds like you did everyone a favour over on the beach, so I'm to reward you with a tour, is that right?”

I mean. You could lie, or not, or something. Up to you.

Lillian had intended to visit Minnao at some point in her adventure, since during the winter months, it was very difficult to travel to Minnao. She hadn't been able to make the trip, however, for a while since she was busy with a variety of other things, especially after the events of Bedlam. She looked down the valley at the large river inside of it, wondering if it had the strength of a river like the Nile or the Amazon, but was unsure. Maybe if she looked it up online she could find out, but right now the river seemed to be rather peaceful, so she was looking forward to the next part. For some reason, she seemed to have some kind of recollection of doing something similar to this before...but she couldn't recall it.

Lillian walked down to the river, taking off her jacket and revealing her black swimsuit as she slowly waded into the river, keeping an eye for anything that might try to snatch her away in the river. For some reason, she had the weirdest feeling that a Carvanha was going to try to eat her. The water was cool on her skin and she shivered a little bit, trying to get used to the temperature of the water as much as she could. She had heard that teenagers came here to find the Pokemon they would spend the rest of their lives with, and given Lillian's unique situation, she was kind of like a teenager, in her own way. She held her breath before ducking her head under the water, popping her head back up as her long silver hair became wet and hung on her shoulders. The water was still a little cold, but she was getting used to it. She also showed no signs of hypothermia, which was good. She could probably perform a field amputation of her extremities if she needed to, but it would be pretty ugly, and for some reason...she didn't want to ugly herself.

Emi: You had always intended to visit Minnao Isles. It was a popular destination, and you could see why: there was a plethora of places to visit, most if not all of them beautiful, and on top of that there were beautiful women to run into all over the place thanks to its reputation as a tourist trap and the gorgeous rays that beat down on clearer spaces.

As it was, you went to where the teenagers roamed, and locals no less. It was quieter and more peaceful at least, which you needed, because you had seen some shit back in Bedlam Ridge and it was nothing that the narrator could begin to imagine. She hadn't been there, man. You discard your jacket, thin to avoid overheat, onto the river side and let the water soak your modest outfit. Strands of silver weigh down, the fabric clinging to feminine curves, and chances are we've seen enough hentai to know where this is goi--

Jokes. This is a super cereal adventure, one which is interrupted by noisy teenagers some short distance away. Their exact words can't be made out, but their tones are nothing but troublemaking, and there is the distinct stench of smoke and... Something foul. Nothing has come to devour you yet, but there might be something, someone, or a collective of the previous that you could chop some limbs off... If you want to bite, that is. You in?

Lillian began to rinkle her nose as she smelled something. She took another whiff, and figured out exactly what it smelled like. Smoke. For there to be smoke out here, chances are someone or something was getting into no good. She could hear some teenagers making a ruckus as well, and it sounded like they were in the business of being little shits. Both Lillian and Nightingale were annoyed at this, but then they smelled something even worse than just the smoke. It smelled...bad. Lillian couldn't tell what this was, but it made up her mind that she was going to find these kids and give them a piece of her mind. She could probably handle a couple of teenagers, especially if they were nobody but spineless punks anyways.

Lillian quickly stood up, not caring as the water fell from her body and splattered against the riverbank as she walked out of the river and grabbed her jacket. She swung it over her, providing a small measure of modesty, even though Lillian thought it wouldn't matter. Something just didn't seem right about confronting a bunch of teenagers in nothing but a swimsuit, especially since she was having her gun serviced and it wasn't ready in time. Simultaneously, she felt embarrassed about being exposed and yet also didn't care. Lillian wondered if Nightingale was the reason for this. She quickly scanned the area for the teenagers, ready to tell them to go fuck off once she saw them. She did have Remilia's Pokeball if the time came for that, but she would rather it remain hidden for now. She wanted them to just run away, not turn this into a fight.

Emi: You feel self-conscious about the state of yourself, especially knowing what teenagers can be like, and it sounds like there are a lot of punk-ass dudes up ahead. It's not enough to put you off, though (is Nightingale saving you from yourself?), and so you push on to see what the fuss is about. This mission takes you further up the valley, a bit more distance than you thought (their echoes carried by the wind), and you see a small group gathered in a cluster of trees.

They were burning litter, and what looked like random items and natural debris that they had found in their surroundings, which was no doubt causing the nasty smell. They were older teenagers mostly, the oldest one built like a tank and lacking a shirt. Besides their own chatter, you noticed that there was a Pokemon quacking and crying in a net tied to a tree and weighed down by a Binacle. It was a Ducklett, the poor creature a sight for sore eyes.

"I've never tasted Ducklett before. Is it really that good?" One of the boys asked, seemingly the youngest. A woman whose hair was tied back in braids shrugged, a brightly patterned sheer dress showing a black two piece beneath.
"It can be, but I'm not sure that one that ugly will be worth the hassle. I bet that fire's gonna fuck it up, too." She remarked, her comments drawing laughter and a snort from the leader of sorts.
"Hey, look, it's about the experience. Gotta toughen up and initiate the newbies, don't we?" The bigger male grinned, and it was perfectly sinster.
"Sure, but do the rest of us have to smell like a Stunky because of it? Ugh."

Well, this is a mess. How do you respond?

Lillian moved further up the valley, noting that the group was considerably farther away that it had originally seemed. Lillian had once heard that noises could be carried on the wind, but was that even a real thing? She didn't know herself. She eventually pinpointed the group that was causing the ruckus, however, and quickly hid so she wasn't immediately found out. Lillian quickly assessed the group; there were only a few teenagers here, camped around a fire that looked like it was just a burning pile of litter. No wonder it smelled like burning garbage.

The teenagers looked to be in their late teens, which didn't really bother Lillian, outside of the oldest one who looked like he could go toe-to-toe with an Emboar if he wanted to. Aside from him, there seemed to be a cute girl with braided hair and a sheer dress that didn't hide her black two-piece, and a young one who almost didn't seem like he belonged there. Over the chatter, Lillian could hear the quacks and cries of a Ducklett and saw the Pokemon tied up in a net. The poor Pokemon was struggling to escape its captors, but the net was weighed down by a Binacle. Lillian knew of this Pokemon, and she figured as long as she didn't get close to it, it wouldn't be too big of a problem.

The teenagers talked about eating the Ducklett, which made Lillian a bit upset. She knew that people sometimes ate Pokemon, but she had never wanted to do it herself. Plus, with the fire being burned, this was definitely completely unsanitary and one of them would probably get sick. The older male talked about an initiation of something for the younger one, but that didn't matter much. Surely there was another way to do this without harming an innocent Pokemon? Lillian tried to think of how to approach the teenagers and get them to back down from this peacefully. Maybe if she took this from another angle? After all, she didn't really disagree with eating Pokemon to a point, and the fire would probably make them sick...

Realizing how she wanted to do it, Lillian slowly got up and approached the teenagers, hoping they wouldn't be too shocked by her suddenly showing up. "The girl is right, you know. A fire like this isn't good for cooking anything. The chemicals from the burning plastics and such will contaminate the meat. From there, it'll just make you sick. Not to mention what you're breathing in from doing this. If you're going to do something like this, come back and make sure you got a good clean fire, and then not only will you have something a lot safer to eat, but it might even taste good." Lillian paused for a moment. "Also you're stinking it up for people like me who just want to relax in the river for a little bit. So could you cut it out?"

Emi: The group were startled by your arrival, and the youngest member who had been sat down scrambled to his feet and joined the others. They sized you up, but as you spoke on, the oldest's mouth began to twitch and broaden into a severe smirk. The girl's eyebrows lifted, and she exchanged a sneer with him.

"Well, aren't you just a good samaritan?" The biggest one asked you, his voice near enough a hiss, and conveying all intentions as dark eyes swept over your form. "That's sweet, looking out for the little guy. But you're ruining our game here, and eavesdropping is rude, so why don't you cut it out?"

The girl laughed lightly, and although the youngest one seemed to join in, he didn't really. It was an unconvincing breath of sound, and his eyes screamed desperation the longer they set on you. "Get out of here, and if any cops show up, we'll find you." The girl promised, adding to her friends, "Can someone shut the bird up already? It's driving me crazy!"

They obviously weren't listening. What do you do?

Jeri-

Swapping out Tenki's Silk Scarf for your Mystic Water, you try and take cover from the colossal Pokemon heading your way. The tyrant does not look pleased, especially with its native sands being drowned up by the deluge your Castform had created. Following your orders, the Pokemon starts to illuminate the cells in its body, creating a blinding flash that covered the area. The Tyranitar covers its eyes, but is too late on that front and acts a bit dizzy. Using this as an opportunity, you and Carson find shelter from the rampaging beast. Yet Tenki was not with you. You look outside to see your Castform valiantly trying to dodge the angered Pokemon's Rock Slide attack. Rocks are hurled at the cloud, with him begin able to avoid most of them due to the Tyranitar's lowered accuracy. However, some of them still hit the Forecast Pokemon, and it's knocked back a few feet.

Not in the mood to mess around, Tenki calls on the very power of the storm it has created. The Mystic Water around his neck starts to glow and rise as the cloud gathers in the raging storm. An orb of rain and thunder forms in front of the Castform, being further amplified by Tenki's new water-typing, the rain, and the mystic water. The Orb seemed as powerful as one of Kyogre's Origin Pulse orbs, and with all of his might Tenki fired it off straight into the green tyrant. It hits square on, exploding into a mass of water onto the Rock-type. The Tryanitar roars in agony, the Weather Ball wreaking havoc onto its entire body. It huffs and puffs, but is not willing to back down. It then notices you, and you feel a chill run down you spine. If looks could kill, you'd be a bloody pulp. Stomping the ground, the Tyranitar creates a prison of rocks behind you and Carson. Tenki quickly flies in front of you, and awaits your orders. There was no running now, it was time to fight for your life.
Jeri quickly admitted to himself that he didn't really know what he was getting himself into. It had become especially clear once he found himself facing down a fearsome Tyranitar that he had managed to provoke a few times now. And now that the beast had blocked his path and forced him to stare into its angry eyes, his otherwise (perhaps artificially) high self-confidence started to drop a bit. He had no choice, though, but to look at the positives! That was a little hard in his current situation (especially considering he was getting drenched in a rainstorm of his own creation - didn't exactly help when you are literally raining on your own parade). But he wasn't in a horrible position, all things considered. His Castform was probably in the best position he could be to ward off this monster, and hey - he had been in worst pinches before, battling-wise, though these generally were in more controlled environments with less mortal terror looming. Either way, Jeri steeled himself, dispensing orders to the blob of rain awaiting his commands.

"Okay, Tenki, we're going to have to stay and fight. Let's hold our ground! Blast it in the face with a Scald, and then go for a few volleys of Weather Balls again! Stay frosty and keep high!"

Jeri kept himself close to the rocks that blocked his way, hoping to find some sort of weak point by subtly feeling out the slick rocks, just in case they would need to break them down for a quick escape.

Lillian sighed, the reaction from the teenagers making it clear that she was going to have to work them over a little more if she wanted them to leave. She had hoped that they might have an inkling of common sense and just leave, but clearly, they were going to be stubborn about it. "Well, the truth is, I'm not really a good Samaritan, I just figured I would try that angle in order to get you folk to leave. I don't really care about your stupid initiation crap, but you're making it worse for basically everyone else that has nothing to do with it. So just come back when you have something that you can build an actual fire with, like wood, instead of trying to stoke a damn dumpster fire and making us breathe in this crappy smoke." Lillian coughed a little bit to make a point.

At the mention of cops, Lillian did chuckle a little bit. She knew that with Nightingale, she could be much scarier than cops. "What if you do find me? Am I supposed to be scared of you punks? Just fuck off and come back later. This way we don't have to see each other again and nothing terrible has to happen between us. I'm trying to enjoy a little vacation, I'd hate to have to make things ugly." Lillian glared at the largest teenager as she reached into her jacket pocket, pulling out Remilia's Pokeball. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way kids. It's your call."

Emi: It was clear before you were even done talking that the teenagers had little care for what you were saying – the youngest one, maybe, but they looked as if they were more scared about the actions of their friends than their potential enemy. “It was never going to go the easy way, babe. Arceus in fucking Hell.” The brute replied. He made a sweeping gesture with a big hand, and as if on cue, the bombshell of the gang made to step up. “No, not you. Him.”
“Wha-- me?” The initiated answered in bewilderment, clearly shocked to be put on the spot.
“Well, that's what he said, asshole.” The woman replied lazily, shooting him a look. The boy peered between them and then hesitantly stood up.

“A- alright, I got this!” He insisted, perhaps a little unconvincingly as he took a Lure Ball from the pocket of his shorts. Tossing it forward with some dramatics, a Shellder erupted from the light, tongue flopping forward onto the valley grass. “This isn't any of your business, lady! Get lost or you'll regret it!”

What do you do?

Lillian looked in disgust as the oldest teenager immediately shook off the idea of just leaving quietly. The man probably felt he had bigger balls than brain matter, and Lillian felt he may have been right there, but comparing cherries to grapes wouldn't be flattering to him. Even more disgusting was making the youngest member of their posse fight her. Maybe that was for the best, but Lillian still called the man a coward for not confronting her correctly. "I don't really want to hurt you kid, but it looks like I'm being given no choice. Not to mention, I'm not in the business of letting a man call me babe." Lillian pressed the button her Pokeball, before throwing it up into the air. "Alright Remilia, I'm counting on you for this one!" The Pokeball opened up, revealing the Woobat who looked around, unsure what was going on.

Lillian thought about how she wanted to handle this battle. Woobat had two immediate advantages compared to the Shellder. First of all, she could fly, and that meant that she was going to be able to secure a height advantage, in addition, cover with the trees. Remilia's movepool was limited, however, but Lillian hoped that she could use the environment around them for the advantage in this case. "Remilia, we've got an easy gameplan here I think. You've got the mobility and air advantage, so keep hidden in the tries and barrage the Shellder with a series of Confusions. If possible, try to push him towards the fire so you can smoke him out and heat him up. Make him Warm, Remilia." Lillian smiled at the kid who was fighting her. "I'm not going to play fair you know. Of course, I'm not expecting it from you guys either. So, get ready, kid. It's time for your operation."

Emi: “Oh, yeah? Guess she's batting for your team, Sophie.” The leader commented with a sneer and a chuckle, your punishing words apparently not phasing him. The woman, her name now revealed, shrugged with her palms up as if you might have been a lost cause.
“Lucky me. I suppose she seems interesting, but with a Pokemon like that...” The thug sighed, “Typical cutesy shit. And she'd probably be more boring broken than she is annoying now.” Her assessment made the older man laugh.

“Shut up! We don't play fair, either!” The boy insisted, “And anyway, you just revealed your entire battle plan to us! So who's the dumbass now?! Shellder! Use water gun to push it into a tree, and then tackle it!” He commanded. The Pokemon looked a little scarier with its war face on, and from the mysterious gap in the shell came a torrent of water straight for Remilia! Indeed, you have certain advantages, but your Pokemon seem evenly matched and this trainer's less of a pushover than you might have hoped for.

The first attacks are launched, and Remilia is quick to respond. Although the first water gun pushes her back, the bat manages to dodge the tackle by taking a higher altitude, fluttering wings smacking the surrounding leaves. Any cover is done for when Remilia lights up with a psychic aura, one which envelops the Shellder in kind as it is forced back to the ground and a gap is put between them. “Don't take that, Shellder! Use rapid spin to take it out and tackle it to the ground!”

Your move, slugger.

Lillian listened to the conversation with little interest but noted that Sophie did talk about her being broken. Even if they were just punks, Lillian guessed they had to have some redeeming qualities. But this simply wasn't the point. The point really was that she needed to kick their ass. Unfortunately, the Shellder seemed to be at least semi-competent and the trainer wasn't half-bad either. She supposed it probably wasn't the smartest idea to shout out what she wanted Remilia to do, but ultimately, it simply didn't matter. Lillian was going to win this battle, rescue the Ducklett, and woo the girl...no wait, something was wrong with this list. Wooing the girl was not very likely. Besides, she wasn't here to gain a potential "friend", just a Pokemon. Steeling herself, she listened to her opponent's orders and immediately had a counter plan. Too much committal to one tree, a very big potential mistake.

"Alright Remilia, I think our opponent here doesn't realize that his silly little clam shouldn't be up in the treetops. So let's punish him for his folly! Quickly back away from the tree that you are in once he commits to his Rapid Spin, and make sure to move to a tree across the clearing, perhaps getting in a quick Charming maneuver, before pushing him out of the tree with another Confusion." Lillian confidently barked her orders at Remilia, before looking at her opponent again. "You're going to look really bad once I win. Simply put, you don't have the right tools for the job." Lillian laughed a bit. She had no use for these idiots, and maybe by making them angry, she would get them off their game. Of course, it could always backfire, but Lillian could definitely defend herself if need be.

Yuke clearly did, the normally sedate Pokemon bobbing over, rolling about clumsily in the process to greet a new friend, the two chattering in their derpy but cheerful tongues. They were an adorable duo, but the sight of it made you very uncomfortable. You knew that you wanted to capture a Pokemon for yourself, that you wanted to earn it. Wisp consoled you, and you returned the gesture.

“Well, that's all fine and dandy.” Joe concluded, but he sounded disappointed, and the other two men frowned as well. Perhaps given the Spheal's enthusiasm, they just couldn't understand why you would reject the sweet thing. “Still, she's not doin' us any harm, so we can keep her on board until we can't, aye? And if any of us have grown attached to her, we can take her home.” You get the feeling that someone will. She's obviously been a hit with the others on board. You, however, awkward as hell, simply returned to your seat to carry on your mission... Awkwardly.

And it was awkward, because these things take time, and you don't do the whole social thing. Yuke did, and Yuke was yapping up a storm with the Seel, best friends forever and all that and damn you should've just kicked it overboard because now it would only hurt your dual-type more when you inevitably left it behind. At one point your heart lurched, thinking you had a bite, but when you pulled it up it was just a boot full of stones. The two seals that had joined you in anticipation looked disappointed and returned to their chattering, and you swore that you heard chortles from the others at your mishap. Burn them all to the depths. Do it. Do it, damnit.

More time passed. You were there, just to suffer. Something, once again, taunted at your line... But this time with vigour. You attempted to reel it in, but whatever it was was fighting you, as if desperate to bring you overboard. The force was painful against your hands, and it seemed like the guest Seel looked concerned. Do you try to bring in the bite, or let it go, along with your pride and dreams and probably a bunch of other important things for your teenage ego? Careful. I heard it's fragile...

This whole fishing thing was starting to get on his damn nerves. At least, the old men he was with were. Laughing at him when he fished up a boot of stones, ha. Doesn't help that Yuke decided to become best friends with the Seel. Now he'll feel guilty when he leaves her behind. Yet, that was life. People always get left behind. Austin knew that feeling well, yet didn't know why. The last time he fished... Was at that lake. That summer vacation had been slowly returning to him the past few weeks. The memories of William... The memories of Marie. Where were they. Did they... die? There was no way his Gengar and his best friend's sister were the same. Yet, the feelings within his heart would suggest otherwise. This love, if it was called that, was familiar to him. What happened to cause his mind to conceal those memories. All of them. Here he was on this ocean blue, lost in his own gray waves of broken memories.

And that's when he felt the line pull. This was something alive, he could tell. The way it struggled, the way taut pole wanted to escape his grip and fall into a watery grave. Austin would not have that. He was tired of losing. He was tired of remembering how much he had lost. He wouldn't give up, he wouldn't lose. He started to turn the reel, fighting as hard as he could against his adversary. Even if the end result was disappointing, he wouldn't care. This was his mark, and there was no way in any of the seven hells that he'd let it go. And so, he fought what was on the end of the line. He will reel it in, he was certain of it. It was just a matter of time until the other side gave up and allowed itself to be caught.

Emi: The lovestruck, dumb part of your brain was trying to remind yourself that, despite all of the evidence to the contrary, these three must have had some goodness in them. It was mostly because of your massive ladyboner for Sophia, which had you thinking that you could somehow sweep her off her feet at the end of this. Your day was about finding a Pokemon and rescuing another, not about collecting women, and although there was a chance you could maybe 'get' this girl, she was quite likely to try stabbing you to death or burning your house down around you. Arceus knows she was not on the side of the angels.

“Shut the fuck up! The only thing you have is a ball of fluff with wings that flies like a spaz, and you want to insult my Shellder?!” The boy was getting increasingly riled, and while it was probably quite funny, he also probably wasn't the one to be worried about. It was obvious that the others were just doing this to test him further, and because they didn't think you worth their time. The charming antics of Remilia didn't work, given that the spinning clam couldn't even see them, and the Pokemon bashed through the thinner branches. “Water gun!” The boy ordered hastily, and even as the Shellder was flung back, it still got revenge with a blast of its elemental attack, which shoved the bat back into one of the tree trunks. Shellder landed, both Pokemon and trainer smug.

“It doesn't matter if I can beat you or not. I can still weaken that stupid thing, and since you already said we aren't playing fair, we won't either! Like you could stand a chance against all of us!” Your opponent smirked, and he might have been right... What do you do?

Lil'twick: You just wanted to chill out and go fishing, but life sucks and nothing comes free, and so you have to suffer in order to gain your reward. Wow, meta. The aggression on the line pulled you from your ponderings and nostalgia, and you were suddenly filled with determination. You had lost too often in life that this single moment felt greater than it probably was, that these casual career fishers had no idea how you felt, how your heart burned more intensely than Wisp's flames ever could. You pulled hard, your companion cheering you, and Yuke watched as you fell backwards onto your arse.

Something pink flew overhead, and it landed on the deck a little distance from you, the rod clattering. Your monsters' mouths fall open, the others turning the attention to see what had been trying to reel you in reverse. “Fucking hell, lad, no wonder it had it in for you.” One of the men said, cautiously getting to his feet. Twirling her tendrils, battering lashes above fearsome eyes, was a lady Frillish.

And if its strength was any indication, if the way it looked at you was any hint, it wanted your broken little soul.

Lillian had definitely managed to rile the kid up, although Remilia paid a little bit of a price for it. The kid did make a point though of whether or not Lillian could handle all three of them, which she didn't know. The girl definitely had a Pokemon no doubt, but she wasn't sure about the big one. She figured it was probable, but he made no attempt to battle her, so she hoped it wasn't so. Right now though, there was the threat of the Shellder in front of her. Rapid Spin could potentially negate the height advantage, but Remilia should still be able to get away from it if that was the case. They both have long range attacks, however, which meant that was less important. Lillian wondered if perhaps she could get the Ducklett to help them, but that would mean involving the Binacle as well, which wasn't a good idea. She didn't have a lot of options right now, which worried her. Defeating the Shellder was one thing, defeating potentially three Pokemon was another.

"Remilia, keep high and blast the Shellder with more Confusions, keep pushing it closer and closer to the fire," Lillian said, before rummaging through her pocket. She had to have something that would help out in this situation. Unfortunately, she hadn't been able to buy any Potions, which meant that right now, any damage Remilia would take would be permanent. She felt something with a bunch of little bumps on it. Lillian realized that what she had in her hand was a Salac Berry. Boosting Remilia's speed would be immensely helpful, except it would only work if Remilia was hurting. 'Dammit, I need to figure out something out here. There has to be a way out.' Lillian thought as she examined her surroundings. There had to be something she missed that could give her an advantage here. She was so wrapped up in this that she didn't even register that her opponent said Remilia flew like a spaz, although if Remilia heard, she would likely have shot a Confusion in his direction.

You still look as stunning as you did before the training day ruined your mood, and you were sure that you were definitely going to have better luck than poor Akuma. Watching him, he was a tragedy. A hot mess, in fact.

You and Speaker waltz the beach, asking with your best manners and smile and subtle poses if anyone has seen a person matching the description Akuma gave of his friend. Almost everyone apologises and says no, except for one (or two). It was a couple laying under a parasol, one of the males holding a book in his hand, the pair resting on a set of water-themed towels. “Oh, yeah, actually. There were a few people going along the beach earlier, that way--” The redhead of the coupling explained, “Carrying someone kind of like that, maybe? We just thought he got heatstroke or was wasted. It's always 5pm somewhere, you know?”
“You're the worst.” His boyfriend scolded, but obviously didn't mean much by it, “What really got us though, was that there was a Ducklett running ahead with a bag. Strongest little thing I've ever seen, dragging it through the sand, left stuff everywhere. They were fuming, someone was chasing it but we have no idea if they got it or not. If you're looking for your friend, they might have followed the Ducklett, or at least you might find its stuff?”
“Shit, though. If we'd realised it was a mugging, we could have tried doing something.” 'The Worst' admitted with exasperation. “That's pretty scary. That could have been us...”

Speaker's ears twitched, and once the men were done giving their statements, the Pokemon's hands tugged at your sexy legs. It looked like they had heard something important! What do you do?
Okay, so they needed to find a Ducklet, or at least they needed to find the possible trail of stuff that it had left behind. Melody was cool with that, especially considering that Speaker may have already picked something up.

"Speaker, have I ever told you how awesome you are?" Melody asked, already knowing that of course she did. "Because goddamn, you are awesome."

There was an indignant squeak. Melody turned to Rompette, the Bounsweet not looking very happy.

"Don't worry Rompers," Melody said, "You're just as awesome."

Motioning to Speaker to let her know where to go, Melody... well Melody got ready to go find that Ducklett. Hopefully.

Up to you.
Gary smiled and breathed a sigh of relief as his mission was accomplished and the Feraligatr was now further and further away. Hopefully it would be able to live out the rest of its life here peacefully without coming into contact with civilization again. After messaging Bill about meeting up with his acquaintance, Gary proceeded towards the designated meet-up location to find his local guide to the Mints.

As he walked along the shoreline, Gary enjoyed the serene atmosphere and took in his surroundings. After a short while of walking, he spotted something floating over the tree line, and upon closer inspection, he identified it as a man being carried by a Drifblim. The man shortly after pulled open a parachute and descended to the ground, gliding towards Gary’s position in the process. As the man came to a stop, boots digging in the sand, he asked if Gary was in fact the right person.

“Yep, that’s me!” Gary answered with a grin, watching the Drifblim float around. The man introduced himself as Masao and Gary reached out to shake his hand. “It’s nice to meet you, Masao. I just did what I could to help; I wasn’t looking for a reward,” he continued with a sheepish grin, slightly embarrassed. “However, I am quite interested in the area here, so if you’re willing to be my guide I’ll gladly follow!” All of a sudden, a familiar Pokeball popped open revealing Gary’s newest partner, Trunks. The Phanpy stretched his legs and trunk out and looked around to make sure the Feraligatr was no longer around before letting out a satisfied trumpet. “I think this guy would like to participate as well,” Gary added with a grin, petting Trunks on the head.

Seated on the sandy beach, artfully reclining against a palm tree with his feet crossed in front of him, one Varis Marivaldi allowed his deft fingers to dance along the taut strings of the ukulele held flush to his chest. Not a care in the world, he followed no score or chart in his playing; he simply let the music of the world possess him, enveloping him like a warm blanket, and flow out into the waiting air.

Certainly, the genuinely asleep Swablu perched atop his silky, blond hair didn't help the matter. But no, Varis was wide awake, amber eyes alert behind a pair of mirrored aviators that shielded his eyes as much from any wondering gazes as they did the bright midday sun. That wasn't the only departure from his usual attire. Today, Varis was dressed for the beach: a light weight green shirt left unbuttoned over his bare chest with board shorts rather similar in color to the surrounding beach. His bare heels dug into the sandy shore, sandals abandoned to the side with his shoulder bag and beanie hat, the latter left open for any offerings to a humble musician that might come his way. (Let it never be said he let an opportunity pass him by.)

If Varis were the confessing sort, he might admit that Minnao had never been in his plans, for what limited ones he had. Since he had struck out on his own, he only had one constant goal: keep on moving. Admittedly, there were a multitude of reasons (and more than one jail cell) for that, but all it boiled down to in the end was a desire for ever-changing scenery. There was a wide world to see, and only so much time to see it. So Minnao, lovely as it was, was only a stepping stone towards the larger land of Fizzytopia, and a last minute one at that. He'd planned a different path of travel, initially, but upon hearing how the Isles were allowing entry for a brief time Varis couldn't resist.

Oh, was he a sucker for a beach.

Atop his head, his Swablu - Arietta - stirred. Though she stayed in place - still asleep for all appearances - a lilting hum entered the air, harmonizing with Varis' own melody. The bard felt the corners of his mouth uptick into a smile in response. He didn't know what he did to deserve a companion like his dear Arietta, but he's thankful all the same.

All-in-all, he might not have planned this, but he certainly didn't regret it. Eventually, he knew, he'd move on to Fizzytopia proper, but for now? He was content to bask the day away.
