Green Bliss - Botanical Gardens

Green Bliss: Botanical Gardens ❁ཻུ۪۪⸙͎

As his family kept expanding, Isaac found the need to relocate his cabin, and with a newfound interest in gardening and plant life, Isaac decided to use his money from his former fame to open his own botanical garden where visitors could frolic through his varying arrays of plants, herbs, and trees. It also allowed Isaac to leave the last place he saw Kyle, for a fresh start for himself and his Pokemon. In the heart of the gardens rests a dark brown log cabin, lined with smaller personal garden and a small training area outside.

The cabin itself is off-limits to visitors of the garden, unless of course Isaac invited you inside. Isaac, however, is cautious about who he invites inside, after the incident with the rabid fangirl from the Cloud Gardens.

The Arboretum
(please reply in Burlywood)

Entrance: The entrance to the Botanical gardens is a specially curated Arboretum. This features all sorts of species of trees, hailing from various regions and areas of Fizzytopia. The entrance itself is lined with Fraxinus Americana (White Ash Trees) as well as a brick path that leads you further into the gardens. Occasionally some of Isaac's grass type Pokemon can be seen around the entrance, welcoming visitors.

Pinetum Area: This section of the arboretum features various types of pine trees. It is also the preferred sparring grounds of some of Isaac's feistier Pokemon. You're very likely to see training happening here, as well as noticing the marks and scrapes among the trees. [This is the preferred area of Morgana, Flea, Kurt, Nate, and Huron]

Saliceta Area: This area is home to the large willows, one of Isaac's personal favourite type of trees. This area tends to be frequented by the Grass Squad & Associates, it's rumoured (moreso mused by Isaac) that they may have a base somewhere in this area. [This is the preferred area of Sam, Grace, Milo, Daniel, Oliver, Chester, Luca, Nate (when not in Pinetum), and Iris]

Querceta Area This is a shadier area, peaceful for reading and relaxing in the shade. It is lined with dozens of Oak trees, arranged in such a way to allow maximum shade and coverage from the hot sun. [This is the preferred area of Elise, Sanjake, and Eileen]

The Floral Garden
(please reply in MediumSpringGreen)

The Pond: After leaving the Arboretum, the path will bend and let you relax at a pond near some benches. The pond has some wild Goldeen swimming in it (strictly not to be disturbed), as well as flowering lilypads. [This is the preferred area of Mira and Vanderlyle]

The Array: The most famed sight in the garden is the array. A variety of handpicked seasonal flowers grown by Isaac. This is the most visited area of the gardens, and it tends to be where a lot of Isaac's Pokemon also like to spend their time. [This is the preferred area of Ahri, Ezra, Otis, Vinny, Kyp, Dramamine, and Marigold]

Tea Area: Freshly brewed lavender tea can be found here, made in house from the fresh lavender that lines the gardens. This area acts as a mini cafe, with lots of seating areas among the garden. [This is the preferred area of Hikaru, Arkell, and Adam.]

Isaac's Cabin
(please reply in SkyBlue)

Entrance: A large "NO ENTRY" sign hangs above the door, but around the cabin itself you can see various Pokemon berry bushes as well as poffin and pokeblock makers that seem to be running on their own. A Sylveon and Umbreon are usually wandering around here, making sure no one disobeys the sign. [Arlo and Reno stand guard here]

Living Room: If you are invited in, the first room you would see is the living area. A light brown wooden floor is the first thing you see upon entering the cabin, lined with wooden green walls and two bright windows. To your left is the kitchen --- a small open concept area. To your right is two mahogany wood benches with green cushions, next to these benches rests two little cabinets --- the one closest to the door has a model ship on it, and the other has a plant resting on it. A small brown rug is between the two, for guests to rest their feet on. In the bottom right corner is a green tall lamp, and in the top right corner is a small dining table with two chairs. A large bear statue is against the far wall, with a large picture of the northern lights next to it. A small fluffy pink bed rests near the door, seemingly Vinny's favourite place indoors.

Bedroom: Isaac's bedroom. Green themed, as it is Isaac's favourite colour. It's very natural looking, no electronics outside of Isaac's cellphone and e-reader. Various pictures of Isaac and his Pokemon litter the walls, the bedside table has a framed picture of the cover of his first album, with him and Vinny posing. Inside the bedside drawer is a picture of Kyle, which Isaac cannot bring himself to get rid of. There are a few bottles of alcohol on the dresser, but Isaac swears they're for guests.

Mailbox

The small mailbox is crammed full of various pink letters, obviously from some fangirls. It looks as though Isaac hasn't checked his mail in several months.

There was a certain serenity to gardens. A place where people could just be with nature, and observe the trees and flowers. Even so, in time, all things wilt and fade. What may start out as a beautiful blossom can shrivel into a thorn. All things beautiful eventually fade, that is why they were beautiful. And they have spent their life in all stages. And now, they have been reborn. The seeds of themselves planted once more, pruned from who they once were.

Fizzytopia was a new place, a fresh start. No one knew who "she" was here. She was long dead and gone. "He" was a fickle dream. An existence that was thought to be true, but was nothing more than a forced falsity. They had spent years toling between this, before finding the comfort in gray. A new name, a new face, even a new body. All things, in time, were eventually done.

Their mess, disheveled strawberry blonde hair was tied into a short pony, with their bangs side-swept. Two small clips were tucked into their hair, but nothing too detailed. Their eyes gleamed a sapphire blue, hidden behind a pair of shades. Though, if one took a close look, there was a small scar over their right eye... and the eye would never move. A glass eye was better than an eye patch, in their opinion.

They wore a frilly, open-buttoned blouse. One that added a touch of feminity to their more masculine form. It was just open enough to see their upper chest and the heavy scars between the chest and torso. A pair of dog tags hung from their neck... their most trusted treasure. Never forget your family. Found, by birth, or otherwise.

Completing their look was a pair of khaki capris, and white tennis shoes. Sure, they knew how to flaunt their body, but they also preferred something more casual as well. A few bands hung around their risks. Mostly leather, with no defining features. The only thing that showed any pompous spark was the sparkling Pokemon next to them.

A bright, lemon yellow. Long pink tongue, always out. A Shiny Lickitung, carefully at their side. They had decided, on leaving their past life behind... they needed something to chase their thrills. The thrill of the hunt. Yet, they did not want blood on their hands once more. So, by chance, after they were out of post-op, they had taken a walk around the hospital. And, by some dumb luck, they saw stars. And then before them was this lemony friend.

"Lemon," they spoke in a rather androgynous voice. "Care for some tea?"

The Lickitung looks at them a bit confused, but nods. Finding an empty table, the two sit and enjoy the scenery. Hopefully, a nice, soothing cup of lavender would be before them. Perhaps they would ask for a lemon spritz too if that was available. Sweet and sour. Tart berries and bright citrus. A floral note accompanied by that sweet acid. It was the only taste for them. 'Sylv"

Isaac had hardly noticed that someone had joined him in the tea area, hands still shaking from responding to his ex's voicemail. Hikaru passed him, the Chansey bobbing up and down happily, delivering tea to a person that had popped up in the garden. Isaac ducked his head down, suddenly self aware that this person had likely heard him making the hardest phonecall of his life. Hikaru placed the tea in front of the trainer and their Lickitung, "Chansey!" She called happily, taking her tray and walking back to the station. She passed Isaac on the way, seeing he looked upset. "Chansey?" She dropped her egg on the table, as if it was meant to comfort Isaac. He felt himself laugh through his anxiety, taking it and putting it in his own hoodie pocket. "Chansey~!" She seemed pleased, walking back to the station to prepare a cup for Isaac.

Isaac turned, noticing the trainer that had joined him in the garden. He hesitated for a moment, he had expected to see a man or woman in front of him... but somehow he saw neither. He fumbled for a moment, trying to come up with the proper greeting in his head. He stood from his seat, walking over to the table as nonchalantly as he possible could, hands in his hoodie pocket feeling the warmth of the egg.

"Hey... dude." Totally not smooth Isaac, but a good effort. He pulled his hands out of his pockets, sheepishly looking towards the person. "May I?" He gestured to a free chair, hoping to join them for a spot of tea. Hikaru came back around, offering the trainer another egg to apologize for Isaac's awkwardness. He had to wonder where she was getting all of these...

His eyes met the stranger's, or they would have, had their eyes not been obscured by sunglasses. Isaac almost felt like they were looking through him, especially after his dude comment. He got a little flustered once again, "S-sorry... I can say dudette too. Whichever you prefer..." He rubbed his head sheepishly, sighing and plopping himself in the chair before the person could answer if they even wanted him to join them. "Sorry I'm a wreck, got the worst call of my life and you're just a stranger so..." He sighed, "Sorry, I don't get to talk to people often. I'm Isaac." He extended his hand, slightly tense. He usually wasn't this awkward, but Minato had been the first person he had actually had a conversation with other than his Pokemon in years. Perhaps he had grown accustomed to the way he could talk at them, and they would simply listen.

He usually wasn't this awkward, but Minato had been the first person he had actually had a conversation with other than his Pokemon in years. Perhaps he had grown accustomed to the way he could talk at them, and they would simply listen.

"Sylv," they stated with a rather cold tone.

They were used to this, but still, weren't always happy when it occurred. At least the more masculine version of words was used first, and they were fine well enough to play along with that. Yet, they didn't really care for that in any way. Why should they? Gender was something society created, and they themselves were quite the antithesis of society.

"Neutral would be preferred, if possible," they then state while taking in a sip of tea.

The man before them was an absolute wreck, wasn't he? They thought someone who would have such beautiful gardens as these would be a bit more... earthly. Then again, each hermit had their reasons to seek reclusion. Perhaps the anxiety, feeling the weight of the modern world, was what did him in? They weren't all too sure themselves, but it didn't really matter much. They were more than fine with simply sipping tea.

"This brew is quite delicious," they then state with a satisfied smile, putting the cup down themselves. "A balm for the soul."

"Lemon and I are just here to take in the sights and enjoy the scenery. I'm not one much for idle conversation. Yet, I am a good listener Isaac, if you wish to talk sir," they then state, pouring themselves another cup of tea.

The shiny Lickitung waves as his name's called. He picks the teacup up before him quite carefully, before waterfalling it down his mouth. The hunter sighs at their Pokemon's undignified posture. Yet, they couldn't really complain about it. After all, it was quite hard for a Lickitung to sip tea.

---

A tired, disheveled figure made his way through the gardens. He was in awe, seeing how carefully attended to they were. Even if he did have his team of Pokemon to help him with it, he was still quite shocked to see it all the same. Was this really the same person he had left all those years ago? He had hoped things had changed, but at the same time, it was hard to really think that he had changed in any meaningful way.

Looking through the various plant life, Kyle was on the lookout for a few specific things... To make sure he hadn't regressed. Yet, he couldn't really fault the musician, could he? He was a grown adult and could make the choices that he had made. That was that, nothing more, nothing less. It was odd, letting all of these old, pent-up feeling course through his brain. To seep through the booze he had chosen to leave behind.

Compared to his rather depressed trainer, a Jolteon happily trodded at his side. The Jolteon would finally get to see Vinny again! He had missed her dearly, despite all these years. Even if they couldn't be together in that way anymore, he still wished to see his Leafeon companion. They had been through a lot together, and he wished to catch up. Even if it was just friends... Surely she moved on by now. She deserved a lot better than everything that had happened around her.

The duo soon saw a vibrant yellow Lickitung, shimmering in the sunlight. Next to the Pokemon was a woman...? Man...? Person. Not like it mattered. The duo was sitting in the tea garden, at a nice table, sipping tea with someone. Someone he knew. Isaac. Taking in a deep sigh, he walks towards the table.

"Hey..." he states awkwardly before trailing off. Mr. Sunshine was long gone.

"Oh, hello," Sylv replies. Kyle blinked at the androgynous tone but didn't matter.

They then looked at him, then Isaac, and sighed. "I see you two know the other. Please, come sit... It is quite lovely to talk over a cup of tea, no?"

Kyle nods, and takes a seat, before looking at Isaac. This was going to be a day.

Kyle nods, and takes a seat, before looking at Isaac. This was going to be a day.
"I can do neutral..." Isaac nervously rubbed the back of his neck, clearly nervous. He tapped his fingers on the table, an anxious and rhythmic tap that seemed to make ripples in the tea that Sylv was drinking. Sylv broke the awkward silence, complimenting the tea. Isaac smiled, a little embarrassed by the praise.

"Thank you, Eileen and Elise enjoy making it with the plants they find around the gardens." The Lickitung gave his own praise, having just gobbled the tea like a lengthy waterfall. Truth be told, Isaac usually found that this area was one of the most quiet around the gardens. That's why he had asked him to meet him here today, and yet, here someone else was, and Isaac knew it would be far too rude to ask them to leave.

---

It felt like an eternity had passed, with Isaac impatiently tapping the table. He was sure Sylv had taken notice, but he was too anxious to care. It had been years, he wasn't even sure what to expect. He expected to see his put together ex-fiance, clad in a lab-coat and brandishing a noble prize of some kind. He was, however, roused from his thoughts from a happy howl from Vinny.

Vinny rushed towards a limber Jolteon, brushing against him affectionately. She was a bit upset that their relationship had fallen through, but she was more than happy to see her friend had returned. She purred happily seeing Kyle as well... even if it was not the Kyle she remembered. She blinked a few times looking at him, he looked... hollow. Like a man who had nothing left. It reminded her of when Isaac had first pushed away Kyle, the way that he stunk of booze, sweat, and other substances. She tutted her mild concern, turning back towards her trainer.

Isaac swallowed hard seeing him. Did he do this? He could tell that Kyle had been drinking during that voicemail, but he had not realized just how severe it had become. He spoke, cold, numb. Isaac felt his heart shatter, realizing fully that the sunshine that Kyle had always resonated was seemingly gone. He prayed it was just tucked deep down, but he feared it might be gone for good.

Sylv gestured to a seat, asking for Kyle to sit. Isaac bit his lip. unsure of what to say. He just looked towards Kyle, admiring him. Despite everything... it was still him, and Isaac just had to break that shell. Vinny chatted with Kale a few feet away, discussing her mate and children. Isaac sighed, breaking the silence.

"Kyle... what happened to you? The last time we were together... you, we..." He felt awkward airing out dirty laundry with someone else present, but he had to know.

Sylv sips at their tea, and then gently place it on the table. They look at the two men with them and realize that this was best left as a private matter. The air was starting to smell of regret, and that was something that they decidedly were not here for today. A beautiful walk through this marvelous garden, not to play therapist with two people still so obviously smitten with the other. With a slight bow of the head, they thank Isaac for the tea.

"It was quite lovely, thank you. Lemon and I shall wander the grounds now," they tell him before motioning to the Lickitung.

Lemon carefully places his teacup down before waddling out of his chair. He gives a wave as he and his trainer soon wander into the depths of the garden. The Array should be quite striking at this time of year. Perhaps he could speak with some of the Pokemon there and make some friends while his trainer admired the various types of flowers? He didn't know as he followed Sylv away.

---

Kyle blinked as Sylv made their exit. It was obvious enough they had picked up on things and had decided to grace the duo with some privacy. That was interesting, to say the least, but no matter. They could at least get a more productive discussion done now. Yet, well, it was time to discuss shit, wasn't it?

"I moved back to Johto a while after we last got together. Life was fine, got married, got a good salary job at Silph, and put my nephew into school. Then, well, my brother came out of the woodwork and turned himself in. It was on the news for a little bit in the Johto region, but I know you've been off the grid. I did see you a few times, but, well, I don't think you ever saw me," he awkwardly chuckled before scratching his chin.

"Well, let's just say I didn't handle it well. I started to drink, my husband was also drinking, and things turned sour. I ended up confessing what I did with you... And while we worked things out, it strained our marriage. I started to drink more and more due to the stress of the job and ended up getting fired. My husband had turned into as much of a raging alcoholic as his father, and I realized I wouldn't be happy with him. So, I got a divorce, send my nephew to my parents, and wandered around for a while before getting a boat here," he continued on, explaining everything.

"I caught wind you were back here and being a bit more public. I thought, maybe if I could talk with you one more time, it might help. Besides, I know Kale's happy to see Vinny again," he chuckled, seeing the Joleton happily yipping to the Leafeon.

"So, while I was building up a perfect life before I destroyed it the past five years, what about you?" Kyle asks of Isaac.

Kale, on the other hand, was starting to feel a bit disheartened. It made sense that Vinny would move on, but he held out because he thought he'd be able to see her again one day. That they would finally get to be together again one day. He sighed and awkwardly pawed at the floor. So much for trying to get things back together. Yet, he was happy for her all the same. With a small nod, he asked her if he could meet them.

Kale, on the other hand, was starting to feel a bit disheartened. It made sense that Vinny would move on, but he held out because he thought he'd be able to see her again one day. That they would finally get to be together again one day. He sighed and awkwardly pawed at the floor. So much for trying to get things back together. Yet, he was happy for her all the same. With a small nod, he asked her if he could meet them.
Isaac shifted uncomfortably seeing Sylv depart. Now he was really forced to deal with the demons of his past alone, in an awkward stance at the tea gardens. "Chansey!" Hikaru waddled over, bringing Kyle a cup of tea and an egg, as he seemed stressed. She placed the tea in front of him on the small picnic table and placed the egg on his lap. Isaac waved his hang, signaling for her to leave to duo alone for a few moments.

Isaac was a bit startled hearing Kyle had gotten married, surprised that the man had moved on so fast... especially considering their last night together had been quite intimate. He shifted a bit, breaking eye contact with Kyle. He could feel a pang of jealousy rise up within him, struggling to contain it. Kyle mentioned seeing him in Johto a few times, and Isaac nervously blushed.

"I didn't really want anyone to find me there... I was more surprised Minato did. You should have... talked to me." He said, feeling like there was a massive weight in his throat. Kyle continued, explaining the divorce after admitting to what he had done with Isaac, along with himself turning to the bottle. Isaac sighed, feeling like he had ruined Kyle. The once bright and bubbly man was a shell of it, disheveled and smelling like booze. In a way, Isaac was happy that his nephew was with his parents now, as he did not believe Kyle was fit to take care of another person, let alone himself, in his current condition.

He glanced down, looking at Kale and Vinny chattering. Both had aged significantly since they last saw each other, and Isaac could see the same pangs of jealousy he felt bubbling on Kale's face. He knew the duo had loved each other, once, and it seemed much like himself, Kale had never moved on. The duo walked away together, heading towards Isaac's cabin. Isaac assumed Vinny had confessed she moved on and started a family, sighing. He knew today would be stuffed with heartbreak all around.

"Me? Well... not a whole lot." He sighed, rubbing his head nervously. "I moved for a while, went to Johto to clear my head. Still clean." He added in, rather pointedly. "Just Vinny and I... everyone else stayed here." He shifted uncomfortably, not wanting to admit he had been fully ready to leave all his other Pokemon behind. He swallowed hard, glancing downwards. "Bumped into Minato, I'm sure you remember him, even if it's vague. He gave me Vinny's brother and then we came back, because Vinny missed her kids and grandkids." He scratched his chin nervously, moving the hand down to the table. He could see the tan-line from Kyle's ring, and it only made the jealousy bubble forward once again.

"So are you... staying here, not here here..." He chuckled nervously, almost tempted to ask Kyle to stay with him, "Here in Fizzytopia?"

---

Vinny lead Kale to the cabin, walking in the pet door. Kyp barked happily seeing his mate arrive, though his eyes narrowed seeing who she was with. "This is my mate, Kyp" Vinny spoke, sitting on her haunches. On the other side of the room, Kale spotted an Espeon chatting with a Thwackey. "That's my daughter, Ahri." She smiled proudly, "My three grandchildren are probably around here somewhere as well." She glanced over at Ahri, "Ahri, any idea where Ruby, Otis, Ezra and your brothers are?" Vinny asked, Ahri shook her head.

"Morgana took Otis and Ezra out, Ruby is probably playing with Dakota." She mewed, looking around. "Arlo was just here actually... I'm not sure where he went." Just then, an older looking Glaceon trotted in, looking surprised at Kale's arrival.

"Oh, Vin! Is that..?" Vinny brushed him off, ensuring he kept his mouth shut around her children, as they were unaware of her past.

"Yes, Cass. It is." She gave him a stern look, and he trotted over.

"Nice to meet you! I'm Cassiel, Vinny's brother." He smiled, his eyes crinkling slightly as he did so. Ahri yawned and stretched, looking at Cassiel.

"Uncle Cass, have you seen Arlo and Reno anywhere?" Ahri asked, Cassiel shook his head, sitting beside Vinny.

"Y'know, Ezra almost looks exactly like you!" He said happily, Vinny shot daggers through him with her eyes.

Eevee If we go down, then we go down together

"I'll be honest, the last time we were together... My ex-husband and I were taking a break at the time. Well, not really a break, just... We weren't talking. We had a huge fight a few days prior," Kyle replied with a downtrodden sigh, before taking a sip of tea.

"But, I didn't really feel ready to talk. I resigned myself to just never speaking with you for the rest of my life. You looked lost and forlorn, and my life was together. I didn't want to lose that security at the time. At least he was there to talk with you," He continued, still doing his best to avoid eye contact with the man in front of him.

"I guess I'll be staying here for a while, at the very least. Not like I have anything left for me in either Johto or Kanto at this point. I'm sure I can't even land a job at Mossdeep anymore considering how badly I fucked up at Silph. So, who knows," Kyle then gives him an exhausted smile, sipping tea.

"Yet, I guess that's just how we both are right? Not sure of anything anymore."

---

Kale watched intently, though when he saw the Manectric he gave him a smug look. That kind of "yeah I got her first" kind of look, as ridiculous as it was. He wasn't usually like this, but, well, his heart was just ripped apart. He should be happy for her, he's trying to be happy for her... Yet, the pain was still stinging.

She was the apple of his eye, and now he had to look at all of her progeny. The family she decided to have without him... It was too much. Considering everything that had happened in their lives. Part of him wished Kyle left him behind that day. That he could've stayed in that cabin by the sea...

The Jolteon shook his head. What was he thinking? He would always be by his trainer's side, no matter what! They were bound together! They were the Harbinger of Storms. Just like how Vinny and Isaac were the Harbinger of Woods. Yet... why couldn't he remember... those halcyon days?

"It's nice to, uh, meet you all," Kale finally barked out, a bit awkward. He wasn't awkward. Why was he feeling awkward?

"It's nice you've found yourself a loving family Vinn," Kale then whispers to the Leafeon, still with that feeling in his chest.

He could feel that cold, piercing gaze. The Glaceon was intently examining him. From the sound of it, only he really knew about it. Well, the Jolteon wasn't ashamed of it. This was the forever he was hoping for, yet all it feels like is a never.

[This is the preferred area of Ahri, Ezra, Otis, Vinny, Kyp, Dramamine, and Marigold]
"...and when we're there, Reassure, I expect you to not jump in and change anything around, OK? I know flower arranging is your passion, but it's important to respect the way others do it, too."

The Blue Flower Florges gave a small sigh. "I had hoped it wouldn't be necessary to reassure you of this, but I promise you I have no intention of changing anything around myself," she said to her Trainer. "At the very worst, I would make known any suggestions on my end to those in charge. And not forcefully, either, before you ask," she added, though with a slight smile.

Helena Masters smiled back. "In the interest of full disclosure, I was in fact considering asking," she admitted with a chuckle. "But, uh, I mean, I can taste the mild indignation at the very suggestion, Reassure, I know you'll be good. Just, Terri made sure I was informed of how you can sometimes be. Like when she took you and Help to the Pechagrove Flower Festival..."

The Florges facepalmed. "By the Eternal Flower," she groaned in exasperation. "You rearrange one poorly-made flower arrangement, and apparently never get to live it down."

Helena folded her arms. "Terri told me the police were called," she persisted.

"The talentless hack took my modifications entirely too much to heart," retorted Reassure. "I saw him dueling a wild Beedrill with garden tools because it brushed up against a few of the flowers." Then, the Florges caught sight of the look of deeply amused skepticism on Helena's face, and the two burst out into laughter. "...OK, perhaps I exaggerated that part," Reassure admitted.

"Oh, I had a feeling," Helena chuckled.

At this point, a Heal Ball from within Helena's bag opened up, and its occupant materialized, saluting. "Wooobbuffet!" Smiley declared, seemingly in agreement with what had just been said.

"Oh, this is actually quite good timing, Smiley," Helena smiled. "We're almost at the botanical gardens. I was just about to send Help out as wel-" However, the need to do so was quite suddenly cut short, as another Poké Ball opened up, pouring out more light from Helena's bag. This time, it formed into a living, levitating lei who draped herself comfortably around her Florges girlfriend's neck. "Heh," Helena grinned. "I, uh, guess you heard that, then, Help?"

"I did," confirmed the Comfey. "I'm sorry I didn't stay out of the ball for most of the journey, but after the morning we've had at the Pokémon Center, I needed the rest."

"I should think so," nodded Reassure seriously. "Helena was telling me about it, with that one sick Cufant that kept thrashing around uncooperatively. Calming that down is no easy feat, and that's not even accounting for your weakness to Steel! Though by all accounts you were marvelous," she added with a smile. Help smiled back, and the Fairy-types kissed. Helena smiled at the sight, but not for too long, for they were almost there by now. And so, with her Florges, Comfey, and Wobbuffet in tow, Helena led the way in.

Isaac felt a pang of guilt hearing Kyle talk about his ex-husband. He knew full well what him and Kyle had done beyond talking the last time they were together, and he felt like all the soul was draining from his body as he observed the slow motions of Kyle. The bright eyed boy that was once there was no more, and he almost felt hollow in a sense. Isaac felt partially responsible for this, struggling to come to terms with the fact that in no small part, his past behaviours and fucked up the man he loved so dearly.

Isaac moved his hand, resting his elbow on the table and looking in his cup of tea with a forlorn sigh. "Yeah, I've never really been sure what I was doing." He sighed, knowing that he had been so willing to leave his own life behind here and start anew in Johto, but something just didn't feel right while he was there. Something was missing, and a part of Isaac felt his stomach twist at the familiar feelings towards Kyle that were bubbling up as they sat across from each other.

"It is good to see you though," Isaac gave a sheepish smile, eyes darting up to see that Kyle was still avoiding his eyes, letting out a quiet sigh. "I know shit hasn't always been good, but... I'm better now." Was he trying to convince Kyle or himself? He wasn't even sure anymore.

---

Kyp didn't mean to leer over Kale, but knowing how hurt Vinny was when he left with his trainer made Kyp feel the need to be protective of his mate. He glanced over Kale with a mix of teasing and hostility. Vinny felt a pang of guilt seeing Kale's face shift, knowing that seeing her with a family likely hurt considering their prior relations.

Finally, she was snapped out of her own thoughts by Kale murmuring about her family. She smiled, moving closer to her former mate and companion. They had once been so close, during those days of old. Part of her longed for those times, the simpler ones, not that she would trade her current life but she longed for the days where her master smiled.

"Cass, you're staring again." Vinny murmured, turning to her twin brother. Cassiel quickly turned away, pretending that Vinny had never confided in him. Yet, there was something so intriguing about Kale. His scent was alluring, and despite how hard it was to see his former mate, he was keeping his head high.

Ahri brushed her paw over her ear and looked at him, eyes narrowed slightly. "So... how do you know mom? She only ever talks about Morgana and Vander."

Annabelle always loved flowers, however, she had never quite seen a garden this big. She felt a twinge of anxiety in her stomach as she realized that this was expansive and full of all sorts of towering plants --- not to mention the sheer number of grass Pokemon that would dart in and out of the shrubbery. Mimi looked around, a black hand reaching out from beneath her cloak and snatching a pink flower from a bush, positioning it on her ear.

"I don't think you're supposed to take things that aren't yours..." Murmured Annabelle. The Mimikyu shrugged, laughing.

"I'm just borrowing it, don't worry." Her eyes sparkled beneath her cloak and Annabelle sighed, knowing that this was going to be a long outing. She had never been one for socialization, and the crowded nature of parts of the gardens made her a bit nervous. She was so young after all, seeing older people frightened her. Polly floated upwards, breaking free of her Pokeball.

"Look over there Annie! New friends!" The Shuppet called, wiggling wildly in the direction of a woman that had just entered the array with a gaggle of Pokemon. Annabelle frowned slightly, looking at the woman. Something about her felt... off. She reminded Annabelle of some of her Pokemon rather than a human, and the girl felt a chill run through her looking at her. Was it fear? She wasn't sure, she stood idly with Mimi and Polly as the gaggle walked through the garden.

---

Hibiscus had wandered away from her trainer, finding a secluded grove. Here, someone sat alone --- their only company a yellow Lickitung that was loudly slurping tea from a mug. The unicorn gave a small puff, walking closer.

She wasn't sure, she stood idly with Mimi and Polly as the gaggle walked through the garden.
Helena arrived at the gardens, with her Wobbuffet, Florges, and Comfey in tow, and they began to explore the expansive place, taking in the beautiful plants, the lovely flower arrangements, all of it. This was mainly for the benefit of the Fairy-type couple, who, as one could reasonably infer from their respective species, were very much into flowers. Even Reassure found she couldn't be especially critical of what she saw, nodding in approval more than she was expecting to. A surprise for her, to be sure, but a pleasant one indeed.

As they continued through the gardens, Helena's smile faltered a bit. There was a taste on the air- not one that most folks would pick up on, but Helena was pretty friggin' far from most folks. It was the taste of an emotion- it was reminiscent of fear, and yet at the same time, not quite so. As though whoever was feeling this at the moment wasn't sure whether they were feeling fear or not, though that possibility tasted like it was definitely on the table. This prompted Helena to, almost instinctively, look down at herself and confirm she was in human form. Which, to her relief, she was- she was entirely too used to people regarding her with wariness at first glance just because she was a Banette.

"...Helena?" Smiley asked. "Is everything OK?"

"...Someone around here is feeling... wary, I think," Helena replied softly, finally finding the word she was looking for. "I... I'm not sure why, I don't even look like a..." she trailed off, but her Pokémon all knew exactly how she was intending to finish that sentence.

"I think it might be her," offered Help, the Comfey pointing towards a little girl, accompanied by a pair of Ghost-types.

"Oh- I think you might be right, Help," Helena said, upon spotting the little girl. "Oh, her Shuppet looks quite happy," she added with a small smile. "Well, let's go see if there's anything we can do to help her, OK?"

"Let's," nodded Reassure.

"I'd be glad to- it's in my name, after all," Help grinned.

"Wooobbuffet!" Smiley chimed in with his species's signature salute.

Helena smiled at her Pokémon, then led the way over to the little girl, realizing as she did so that Help had been right on the money- the wariness she was tasting was definitely emanating from this girl. She didn't get too close, wanting to maintain a respectful distance in case her presence made things even worse (she didn't realistically think this was the case as she was in human form at the moment, but at the same time, she couldn't rule out the possibility that the little girl could simply be intimidated by strangers who were older than her). "Excuse me?" Helena said gently to Annabelle. "Is there something wrong? Anything I can help with?" As she spoke, she attempted to eat away at the girl's wariness as only a Shuppet or Banette could, to try and help her feel a bit more at ease. She did this with her patients at the Sludge Wave Coast Pokémon Center so often that it was damn near second nature by this point.

---

Amalthea had wandered away from her trainer, finding a secluded grove. Here, someone sat alone --- their only company a yellow Lickitung that was loudly slurping tea from a mug. The unicorn gave a small puff, walking closer.

He was going back into old tricks. Old habits. It wasn't that hard to read the man he had loved for so long, even now. He could tell that Isaac had made a lot of improvements already. A place as beautiful as this... the Isaac of the past would be too lost to try to care for something such as this. A flower needs to be nurtured, or it'll wither away. Something Isaac had told him all those years ago... In that region so far away.

"And I'm happy for it," Kyle lets out a chuckle. "But, it's nice to see you too. I missed you, I mean it."

Kyle then sighs, looking towards the sky. The sun was starting to set. There was still time. He wished to let loose in the New Fizz nightlife after this. No matter how things turned out between the two of them now, it would get better soon. He could tell that if Isaac could change, then he could change for the better too.

"But," Kyle fiddled with the cup. The same way he'd fiddle with silverware on their dates years ago. Some habits never died. "I just."

He always had a problem spitting it out around him.

"I know this is a lot but. Do you wanna... you know... go out sometime? You know this region a lot better than I do. And I think the both of us want to avoid Kyushu as much as possible..." Kyle awkwardly chuckles, scratching the back of his head.

If he was doing better now, perhaps it was time for one final chance.

---

Kale could feel the gaze of the Glaceon deepen. Yet, he knew what it was. It felt the same as when Vinny stared at him, all those years ago. Throughout all of their adventures together. Trying to comfort each other when everything else went south. After the deaths of the Harbingers of Dreams... and further beyond.

He then heard a new voice. He looked and saw an Espeon. She looked quite curious about him. Only taking about other mates, and never him.

"Vinny, I get being hurt and all, but our time together... We saved an entire region from destruction," he told the Leafeon before addressing the question.

Your mother and her trainer were the Harbingers of Woods. Doesn't surprise me you all could grow this. My trainer and I are the Harbinger of Storms. In our heyday, we could manipulate electricity to how we liked it. However... our powers have been sealed away..." Kale sighed. "Only when all eight are alive, may we use our abilities."

"And now, I'm just a housepet. Was for a while. Got a little chubby, and my trainer's nephew liked to feed me treats constantly. But, I rather leave it at that. We saved a region, our trainers were together, and for a while, we were too... But, it wasn't meant to be," the Jolteon states with a heavy sigh.

"All things change and fade with time. But new things can begin too," Kale states as he stares into Cass's eyes, giving a playful smirk. One that Vinny would recognize all too well.

---

"Lemon, darling, it seems we have a guest. I think I will take a nap beneath this shaded tree. You have my permission to play for a while. Be a good boy," Slyv tells the Lickitung as they sit against the tree in their secluded grove.

"Oh. Hi! I'm Lemon! I love eating all sorts of things! Especially lemons and nomel berries! Did you know that Nomel is just Lemon backward? Ha, ha haa..." the Lickitung then introduces himself to the Galarian Ponyta before awkwardly fumbling. This was going to be awkward.

To Helena's surprise, as soon as she reached out to the girl, she vanished. Almost as though she had never truly existed at all. Helena looked around, confused. Her Mimikyu was gone as well, nothing seemed to remain of her presence --- just the lingering aroma of lavender.

"Did you see her?" A voice spoke up from the brush, Helena raised her head to see a young woman walk out from the shade. She was short, her short hair parted down the middle in two differing tones: blonde and brown. A sunhat and sunglasses rested on her pale freckled face and a camera was clutched in her right hand.

"Spooky, right?" She asked, looking down at her camera. She seemed distracted, and you hardly had time to process what she was saying. Where had the young girl gone? And who exactly was this girl that somehow seemed aware of her?

Isaac watched Kyle nervously, the sheepish fiddling of his cup, it brought back so many memories of them, from back then. He almost felt his eyes be drawn to it, feeling like it was years back before everything --- before Isaac fucked up.

Isaac felt like his chest was going to burst hearing Kyle ask if he wanted to go out sometime. The words he had always hoped to hear, from the man he always missed who was finally back and sitting in front of him. He practically jumped upwards when Kyle asked, bumping his hand on the handle of his own teacup and knocked it to the brick below.

"Shit!" Isaac exclaimed, hurriedly fumbling around. He was clearly flustered, face red and avoiding Kyle's eyes. "Sorry I just..." He paused, taking a deep breath. "I would really like that." He murmured, tucking his chin in shyly.

Vinny's eyes narrowed as she watched Kale focus on Cass, that coy smirk was one she knew right away, one that she had seen from the Jolteon countless times when the two were still a pair.

Ahri, looked at him, and then at Vinny. "Really? I thought mom was just some weird dude with attachment issue's favourite pet." Vinny rolled her eyes.

"That life is behind me now," She looked down, avoiding Kale's gaze. "I... thought you were gone forever, I wasn't sure how to talk about you." She felt a bit relieved when Kale mentioned that they weren't met to be, even if it was sounded with a deep defeated sigh. She looked towards Kale, who was still fixated on Cass. Cassiel seemed to focus on him as well, returning his smile and his words.

"Well, if you're not busy later, I do love a good nighttime walk." Cassiel smiled coyly, licking his paw before striding away, making extra effort to wiggle his hips when he walked. Vinny smiled to herself, a bit happy that perhaps there could be new and welcome beginnings in this, and a chance to see Kale more often as just friends.

"Shall we properly catch up later? I think Cassiel wouldn't mind getting to know you better." She grinned playfully at him.

"Gross..." Muttered Ahri, raising to her own feet and going to seek out her mate.

---

Hibiscus blinked, she had never met such a... lumbering creature. She forced a smile, dipping her head. "I'm Hibiscus, which is a... flower." She took a deep breath, not sure if she was prepared for mingling with commoners.

Helena was no stranger to ghostly antics, being a Ghost-type herself. That being said, she had decidedly not been expecting the young girl to vanish into thin air. Reassure's jaw dropped; Help nearly dropped half her flowers; and the eyes on Smiley's tail bulged in disbelief. "Wh- wait, what the-" Helena began, blinking in shock.

"...OK, everyone else just saw that, right?" Reassure demanded, the Blue Flower Florges somewhat rattled.

"I saw it," Help confirmed.

"Wooobbuffet!" Smiley agreed with his signature salute, seeming to already be starting to calm down a bit.

Just then, Helena heard someone asking if she'd seen the girl. Helena turned to look, and saw a young woman walking out of the shadows of the shade. Short, with two-toned blonde and brown hair, holding a camera in her right hand.

"I... well, I don't know about spooky, exactly," Helena said with a shrug, following this newcomer's subsequent. "Unexpected, certainly, but now that the initial shock has worn off... well, I've seen spookier," she admitted, choosing her words carefully. "Was that a ghost, then? An apparition of some sort? I gather you've seen her too, and I know my Pokémon did, so..." she trailed off, as Smiley, Help, and Reassure all nodded, voicing their various confirmations that they too had seen the little girl disappear. They all seemed a bit more at ease- having a Ghost-type for a Trainer, nothing like this would spook them too badly.

"...so do you know anything about her, then?" Helena asked. "I've never been here before, so I don't know if there's any sort of ghost stories passed around in this area, or what. Oh, yes- where are my manners? I'm Helena Masters. This here is Smiley, my Wobbuffet; Help, my Comfey; and Reassure, my Florges."

"Comfey fey!" Help happily greeted the newcomer, twirling in midair.

"Flor Florges," Reassure chimed in, giving an elegant bow.

"Woooobbuffet!" Smiley saluted.

Kyle watched as Isaac's eyes lit up at his suggestion. Even after... a decade it felt like, things were still the same. Things could just as easily start as they stopped. Perhaps that was a good thing? Perhaps that was just a bad thing? Who knew... truly, what that meant? Yet, they both were ready to start over again. Perhaps this is the last chance either would afford the other. Perhaps there had been too many chances, but why did that matter? They weren't getting any older at this rate. However, Kyle did feel something compel him.

"Then sure, I'll keep in touch then. I was planning on Kale and I to spend the night on the strip together, but I'll let you know when I'm free after that," Kyle stated with a happier smile, flashing his cell phone.

"Though, I'll be honest. I still have this," Kyle pulls out a small, black box. "I know you swore you'd never touch it again, but... I still do have it. And perhaps, one day in the future, we'll need it. I've been lost, hurt, and confused for so long Isaac. The friends we've lost, the lives we've lost, and so much more. And even with all the shitty things we've done to each other, for each other, I never could find myself to let this go..."

Kyle sighs, opening the box to reveal shards of a Grassium-Z for a small second, before closing it. He showed his wrist while doing this, to showcase a z-ring with an Electrium-Z soundly affixed to it. He knew Isaac wouldn't take the box, and put it back in his bag.

"I've never lost sight of this, despite everything. Don't lose sight of yourself too, please. That's all I ask, but, well. It's getting late, call me when you can," Kyle awkwardly states as he gets up before calling for his Jolteon.

---

"Well, I'm not entirely sure how busy I might be later," Kale admits to the Glaceon as he watches Vinny's family have mixed reactions to him.

"My trainer did seem to already have other plans before coming here. I'm sure it'll be something fun though, but even if we can't walk and talk tonight... I have a feeling we'll be back here before all too long. Maybe then?" he tells Cass with a slight hint of uncertainty.

"But, for now, Vin. Thank you. I'm happy to see the life you've built, even if it does pain a part of me... I'll-" The Jolteon continues onward, before hearing his name resound through the gardens.

"Well, gotta jet! I'll see y'all later then, that's a promise!" the Jolteon shouts with forced enthusiasm before rushing out of the house.

He could feel a pain in his heart as he did so. Perhaps things wouldn't work out exactly as he'd hoped now... Well, no matter, there was always something afoot when he and Kyle were traveling together.

---

"Hi-bis-cus... Flower... That's pretty!" the shiny Lickitung explains, feeling a bit awkward. "Can I eat it?"

This was not going to end well, wasn't it?
