The pinkette folowed curiously. When she reached the employee he was placing it in a container that he soon covered with a dark cloth. An artificial light glowed from inside the cloth. The female trainer addressed the worker, "Exscuse me. What's in that?"
He looked at her worriedly "A Flabebe with terrible power." he explained.
Kawaii examined the tag on the container, 'FLABEBE (BLUE FLOWER) NO SPECIAL MOVES.' it read. She looked at him skeptically.
He sighed "It's too cute, when it sees people it enchants them with it's adorible looks and then Vine Whips 'em. The only employee it does not do that to is Tate."
The pinkette tilted her head "Why's that?"
The employee shrugged "No one knows."
Kawaii approched the container and heard crying "Poor thing, I'll take it!"
The man's jaw dropped.

OoC: paying $30 for this little one and putting her in pokeball 04 of 10

"Kawaii, huh?" Tate mumbled, between bites of sandwich. It had been a long day, the volunteers had been in weird moods, Tate had been feeling sick; just a rough day all around. The sort of day that makes you want to say 'Fuck it,' except that some people have obligations and can't just say 'Fuck it,' so they sit in back offices and try to work through the adoption records like good little managers.

It wasn't surprising to see the girl back on another slip. She, like so many others, came like clockwork to claim another soul. On the agenda today was a Flabebé -- blue in hue -- who some of the staffers swore was a problem. Tate had never had an issue with the little darling, personally, but far be it from the bird keeper to call the workers liars.

Keyboard clacking, Tate entered the information from the adoption paperwork into the computer file. Every adoption ever made was kept on file; this was Kawaii's fifth. A Buneary; a Ponyta; a Skitty; a Shuppet. Tate wondered how they were. Were they happy? Were they healthy? Were they well-adjusted? Did they live good lives? Did they know good people? These were the questions that nagged at the manager which every adoption, not least of all with this young girl.

Finishing the file, Tate popped the last of the sandwich into a waiting mouth. The Flabebé had been here for some time, and had not been adopted; at least someone wanted her. At least she was going to a home. Isn't that was they were here for? Placing the computer into rest mode, the trainer stood and stretched. The gravel in the Rock-type enclosure needed to be turned. There was no end to the work here. Tate wondered who the girl would come back in to adopt next.

Adoption of Lv. 01 (F) Blue Flower Flabebé confirmed.

It had been a while since Lucas last visited the place. The last time was with Rags by his side as they searched for the Aron he had named Izer, or Ize for short, and that was only to give his Horsea a new friend so she wouldn’t feel alone. Back then he had visited the place with purpose, a reason much different than his current one; he was just taking a walk and passing by the place. This time he didn’t have his book with him, and for some reason he had left all his Pokémon behind this time, preferring to be alone. Perhaps for the best as he wouldn’t have to deal with any of His Pokémon’s shenanigans, or his Gallade’s pestering on ethics and morality, though his presence still lingered in the back of the trainer’s mind.

The past few days had been unbearably hot, and Lucas for one was glad to be inside an air-conditioned room. Cages had been stockpiled on top of one another or beside each other, housing the Pokémon that were too dangerous to be left beside their natural prey or those too sick and in need of special treatment. Lucas was simply surveying his surroundings when he noted a particular cage between two others. The two flanking cages contained an Ekans each, coiled up in a corner as far away from the centre cage as possible. The two seemed wary of whatever it was that lurked between them and Lucas couldn’t quite tell what it was that was hiding in the shadow. He got up closer to the bars, hoping to catch a glimpse of light in the shadows. Upon getting closer, a head hurtled itself from the shadows and banged itself against the iron bars. Lucas startled backwards from his pang of panic as Pokémon in nearby cages cried and shook their containers in fear. The two other Ekans tightened their coiling , trying to make themselves as small as possible. The giant head that was pressing itself against the iron bars contained two angry slits of eyes as they stared the trainer down with malicious hunger. The Pokémon in question was an Ekans as well; purple, yellow-banded and a tail that never stopped rattling, except this Ekans was larger than the other two. Lucas pulled out his Pokédex to check on its size; Pokémon of these lengths tend to be rare and, in cases of carnivorous Pokémon like Ekans, are exceedingly vicious as well. This one in particular was of a bigger size than usual, and this somehow intrigued the trainer to put his head closer to examine the Ekans up close (while still remaining a sensible few inches away from the bars. Scars lined the face and sides of the Pokémon; battle wounds from opponents (or prey) bigger than itself. Its two dead eyes glared with stony rancour.

Lucas turned his head away for a second to ask the staff about the mutant Pokémon. He pointed his finger at it and shouted a question, “He, about this Pokémon, is i…” his words were interrupted by the sudden bang of metal pins breaking and the sharp sting in his hand that came thereafter. Lucas gulped his last few words down and his ears momentarily turned deaf when hearing the panicked screaming of the staff. The Ekans’ head had bolted out of its cage, breaking the metal lock in its path, and latched itself onto the trainer’s hand. Lucas gaped with frozen panic at the snake’s icy stare as it jerked its head left and right as if it were trying to tear his fingers off. Blood oozed out of the snake’s mouth where it had broken the trainer’s skin and the Ekans wrestled the young man down until it sgiant body was on top of his. Screams of staff continued as some of them ran up close, clutching onto multiple doses of tranquilizer. The Ekans latched its mouth further up the trainer’s arm, his hand now disappearing up the snake’s jaw; but Lucas could only stare in mild shock at the Pokémon’s hypnotic stare, the two eyes that never took themselves off the trainer as it wrestled him down and tried swallowing his hand. The staff members started stabbing needles into the Pokémon’s sides. The first doses weren’t enough for a Pokémon of this side, and while the brutish jabs in the Ekans’ leathery body would have hurt, the Pokémon paid it no mind while it pursued its grip on the trainer’s bleeding arm. A few more doses did the final trick, and slowly the snake’s body dropped beside that of the trainer as its jaw unhinged itself loose. The staff did their best to lift the Pokémon’s body back into a new cage, double-securing it, and attending to Lucas’ wounds.

The staff explained that the Pokémon was excessively voracious and had tried eating nearly everything it came into contact with; his enormous size resulting in his bold appetite for anything moving, a conceited confidence in his position at the top of the food-chain. The staff appeared at a loss of what to do with it. No trainer in their right mind would take care of such a creature and no Pokémon could get close to it without being bitten or worse. In all likelihood, as impressive the size of the Pokémon may have been it would have to be put down eventually if it couldn’t be tamed even slightly; restraining it, as Lucas had witnessed first-hand, did little in subduing him or his temper.

Lucas gave a sly smirk at hearing this and recalled the strange gaze the Pokémon had given him. For some reason he had a sense what the Ekans was trying to do. True, it had tried to eat him, but it had tried to conquer Lucas through some other manner as well though somewhat ineffectively. Lucas wasn’t in any real danger of being eaten he reasoned. Tried as he might, the Ekans could have at worst maybe broken his wrist, but in no way could it have swallowed his hand, let alone himself entirely. This clearly was a Pokémon whose confidence and stomach were larger than its eyes or brain; and Lucas had such a Pokémon back home as well though that one preferred licking sweet candy as opposed to gulping down large chunks of flesh.

The last of the bandages were applied and Lucas handed them some money. The staff refused at first, not wanting the trainer to pay for receiving first-aid but Lucas corrected their thinking; he wanted to adopt the large Ekans and take it off their hand. He heard a whisper calling him ‘fool’ or ‘idiot’ but in the end they were glad to get rid of the Pokémon, and Lucas was glad to add such a remarkable Pokémon to his roster, vicious and voracious as it may have been.

While his pair of Arbok were busy making babies, Hyrem thought once more of the Adoption Center and recalled there were quite a few Ekans looking for homes. Perhaps one of them would make for a nice playmate for the new hatchling? Unfortunately, by the time he next visited, all of the serpents had been taken! Oh well, he figured he might as well see what else interested him while he was here.

Passing by the Girafarig pens where he adopted Janice, as well as the homes of a fair few Grass Pokemon who were relieved she had been taken by the very human who walked past them (most of which were hoping he wouldn't be interested in them and bring them back into the nightmare), he came to an aquarium that looked like it could house many Water Pokemon. He could remember there being multiple Pokemon in that tank during past visits, but now there was only one left: a colorful, round, yet menacing looking fish, colored blue on top and red on bottom and sporting yellow fins, a yellow star underneath its chin, glowering red eyes and massive jaws for its size. As he stared at the fish, it gnashed its sharp teeth at him, and he was reminded of the Basculin he encountered off the shores of Whale Island. "Cranky little beast, aren't ya?" he asked before consulting his Pokedex:

Carvanha, the Savage Pokemon. When alone, this Pokemon is shy and prefers escape over battle. However, this Pokemon usually is found in large groups in major rivers that cross through tropical rain forests and is greatly emboldened by others of its kind. Anything that enters a school's territory is immediately swarmed, and once blood is drawn they are sent into a frenzy, chasing down their prey and consuming it until there is nothing left. Not even boats are safe; their jaw strength and sharp fangs can easily tear through their hulls, and an entire school can sink a large boat within minutes and a small boat within seconds, exposing any passengers to their assault.

"Well, I'm not looking to get a whole group of you any time soon," he said. "One of you is plenty." Still, he thought, it might be nice to have this guy around, if only to give someone Bubbles can relate to...if she doesn't eat him first. And if I can get him out of the fish tank without getting bit. For that, he assumed, it was best to get help to ensure safety, so he went up to the front desk in order to fill out the paperwork and ask for the requisite assistance. You may not know it yet, but I think you'll like me and my team...Fizz!

At this point they have to be questioning her, and Alice really wouldn't be blaming them. Maybe they thought she wasn't coming back, given how it had been longer than ten days, but it was a temptation she couldn't resist. There were still several Pokemon that the young woman had her eye on, and she had chosen what she felt to be the most challenging of those attractants - a Koffing.

It was easy to track the balloon down. A poison type with 'vents' like hers let off a certain smell, and although it's a slight turn off, Alice loves her perfume and she'd seen too much potential to let this one go over such petty judgements or even fears-- Koffing are toxic and dangerous, after all. However, she'd hatched a danger noodle of her own some months back (which was why Alice hadn't adopted an Ekans) and she felt a bit more comfortable with that typing now. A Poke Ball comes out, as well as the expected $30 payment.

"This one, please!" Alice announced delightedly, looking to the Koffing. It couldn't adopt her back, or cling for a hug-- but she did wonder if it was cuddly. What kind of character would this mystery beast have? "If she wants to, that is. We've got a bustling home now even with Blaze and Jasper away, so you'll have plenty of friends!"

They were lucky they hadn't been sued, Tate reasoned, still shaken by the second-hand account of the gristly incident. Pencil worked fervently on a series of order forms from Drs. Fir & Spruce. To prevent another accident like this, the manager had decided that they needed to have a set of reinforced cages on hand, with stopgaps and two doors so that one could act as a fail-safe. For Celebi's sake, what if it had been a child? People brought their families in all the time, looking for that perfect Pokémon to introduce their little one to the wonderful world of trainerdom. What if that one girl -- Elka? -- had been the victim? She seemed so frail; would she have fared as well as the strapping young lad who, thankfully, came out relatively intact?

Thoughts plagued the manager. Did they need to report this to IAPC? Sme of the volunteers were shaken. One young woman had to go home, apparently hemophobic and shaken to her core by the copious amount of blood. And oh, the blood -- that was a biohazard containment issue. Everything which had come in contact with the boy's blood had had to be scrubbed down with chlorine bleach.

The creeping sensation of a headache caused the manager to pause and fish a bottle of acetylsalicylic acid tablets from one of the desk drawers. The poor trainer that got mauled probably needed his fair share of these, Tate thought, taking two with a swig of lukewarm tea. It was bitter, oversteeped, and Tate winced at the flavor before setting the mug aside; it happened to come to rest on the Ekan's adoption form, the white paper stained brown with a few tiny droplets blood. Tate still hadn't entered the record into the computer yet. Tate might not do it until tomorrow. Tate needed some time to get over the shock of it all.

Tate needed something stronger than badly made tea.

Adoption of Lv. 01 (M) Ekans confirmed.

Pokemon to Adopt: Lv. 1 Male Carvanha
Payment: $30
Pokeball: (26/30)

Fizz. It's a word with a dark and ominous intonation to anyone who has spent any time in the water. To "fizz up" is to have gas come out of solution in the blood; a potentially deadly condition known as decompression sickness which threatens the life of every diver, every time they take the plunge into the beautiful big blue. So truly horrific is the fizz that more time and energy is dedicated to mitigating the risk than any other.

One never wishes to fizz, the staffer explains, making light conversation with you, as he fishes your newfound companion out of the tank with a large, industrial net. An older man with a salt-and-pepper beard, he hails from the warm and tropical waters of Hoenn, he continues; born on the floating village of Pacifidlog Town. He's seen beasties like this one; vicious little critters which can take out whole Wailmer if ravenous enough. They don't like the swift currents which surround his old home and so the natives there were safe, but every now and then, a tourist would go missing when they wandered out into the softer tides. A real tragedy.

Wonder what's worse, he muses out loud. A school of Carvanha, or the bends? Both are a pretty hellish way to go. Depends on how each one takes you out, probably. Carvanha gets the jugular, well... that's over and done, isn't it? But if they miss the arteries, well, that's slow and painful. Same for diver's disease -- an embolism in the brain'll take you out right quick but there's no guarantee.

Realizing how dark the conversation has gotten, he apologizes as he hands you a clipboard, to begin filling out the paperwork for the adoption. Your new friend thrashes in the net, but his weathered fist is strong and his grip on the closed net doesn't budge. Fizz.

It's an appropriate name.

Lv. 01 (M) Snubbull ($30)
No special moves.
Athena rubbed her eyes sleepily as she entered the Adoption Center once more. She didn't expect to be here again. She was more than happy with the Scraggy she had adopted previously, even though he had been quite a handful so far. She had also been hoping she'd get a chance to use her skills as a trainer to actually capture a Pokemon, but the opportunity had not presented itself yet.

The past few nights she hasn't slept well. She found herself tossing and turning,
one thought on her mind. Pink.

She had seen it on her last visit. They had made eye contact, light brown to beady black. Why did she walk past it? What had compelled her to keep walking? Yes, she loved Monte with all her heart, but it had taken some searching to finally find him with the other Fighting type Pokemon. They had placed this one closer to the front. It was a popular Pokemon with women,
after all. A horrifying thought: Had someone else already adopted it?

"Pink." Athena approached the first volunteer she saw, her mind too tired to register that she did not actually form a complete sentence. The volunteer stared back at her, a bit taken aback by her sudden approach. Athena yawned. "Oh I mean, uh, do you know if you still have the Snubbull that was here the other day?" The volunteer, still shocked, just nodded and pointed to the room on their left.

Pink! He was still there. Athena watched in awe as the small bipedal Pokemon trotted around in it's enclosure. Other canine Pokemon were playing with each other, bounding across the room and chewing on each other's ears. The Snubbull didn't seem interested in their game. Instead, he had made eye contact with the girl standing in the door. Athena's heart fluttered. It was fate, they had met again. She knelt down to the Snubbull's level, and offered him her hand to sniff. She couldn't help but let out a squeaky cry of excitement when it approvingly licked her hand.

"You're so...Pink..." Athena had tears welling up in her eyes. "I can take you home, right?" The Snubbull looked like he had to think about it. The trainer produced a Pokeball from her backpack, and held it up in front of the Pokemon. Snubbull looked disgusted at the plain, red and white ball.

"Oh...Wait!" Athena dug around in her bag again and pulled out a dark colored ball with a red and gold pattern. "You'll like this one. It's supposed be really comfy." She shook the ball back and forth a bit, emphasizing its sheen. The pink Pokemon contemplated once again, then gave a firm nod.

"Yes! Ok! Let me just go fill out your paperwork, and then I'll come back and get you! And then we'll go and get coffee! Ok? Choux?" She looked expectantly at her new Pokemon, hoping he'd approve of the nickname choice. After a couple of slow blinks, Choux nodded.

Adopting Snubbull! Paying $30 and putting him in a Luxury Ball.

Eau de Koffing -- it's a bold scent. As the staff escort you and the finely membraned ball of gas to the front counter, a young man busy mopping the floor begins wretching and quickly leaves the room, his task undone. The elderly woman running the counter today pulls her turtleneck over her nose, unsure of why you aren't phased by this disgusting ball of fumes. Rather, you seem quite fucking pleased with the thing, despite its nose-bending stench. Are you mad, woman?!

Of course, she has tact, and doesn't say any such thing. Rather, she slides the clipboard across the bamboo surface with two fingers and offers you a smile, which you can only see due to the crinkling off her eyes. Koffing mimics the grin, clearly elated by what this all means -- she gets to go home?! With you?! You seem like a well put together young lass, so well dressed, such nice hair! She twirls in the air, listing to one side, and then begins to lazily circle around your head as you dutifully fill out the forms required. Oh gosh, oh my, look at that handwriting! It's darling. Darling! You're a doll. A doll! Her buoyant and practically weightless body bounces off of your crown in what is clearly a gesture of affection, and she does another little twirl, turning upside down and then right-way up again. You know, so often people think of poison types as being crude, but really, that isn't the case. She considers herself quite elegant, honestly, and she's just chuffed that she's going home with a precious young woman like you, and not one of these rowdy boys you so often see on the scene. There's another soft little tap on your head as you sign your name -- she's a bit playful too! Nothing wrong with that! A girl can have fun! Oh, look at you, you're such a cutie. Careful not to muss your hair! Your perfume is a little weak though! We can fix that!

There's a massive expulsion of gas as you hand the lady back the clipboard; the thick, purple smog fills the room and sends the staffer reeling. A pleased coo comes from your new friend; she's delighted to have touched up your fragrance for you! You, on the other hand, feel a bit lightheaded...

Adoption of Lv. 01 (F) Koffing confirmed.

PINK.

It weighs on the brain. It consumes the senses. It eats you alive. It's everything that means anything in the world; more than just a four letter word or a hue on the color wheel. It is life. It is life. It is fate. It is pain. It endures through time and through space and it seeks you out, calls your name, cries for you in the night; p i n k.

Luxury weighs heavily in your hands. You don't know it yet, but it will never be enough. The gold leaf chips away in tiny little flakes and all the scratches and scuffs of a hard life show up all the more garishly on a black sheen. The little prince sleeps inside in decadence, undisturbed by the real world, unphased by hardships. Can you ever really connect with something who doesn't know what it means to endure mediocrity? Ask yourself this question. Consider the answer.

The staffers smile at you as the paperwork is filled out. Such a lovely young woman. A fetching young fashionista from Kalos, here to take a dapper young faerie home in a shiny ball fit for a king -- it's practically textbook. Just another walking cliche. Shall you carry him home in your little clutch bag?

No.

P i n k.

It's an unearthly color, isn't it?

Tate knows how it is to lust after that color; to see it flash in the back of your eyelids when you close them. To have it plant itself in your dreams, demanding your attention whether you wish to give it or not. Pink is such a demanding color. It wants for you. It refuses to accept anything less than everything you have. It burrows its way into your very soul.

The Luxury Ball makes a rhythmic tap on the desk. Outside the office window, the manager can see the Grass-type enclosure. Through the cracked door, it can be heard as the staffer wishes you a good day. He doesn't know what it's like to be a slave to the unyielding siren song. That's fine. It's not his business. Tate gets it.

Tate gets p i n k.

Adoption of Lv. 01 (M) Snubbull confirmed.

She was enchanting.

Tate blamed Pakalōlō. It was easy to partake of the Oddish's relaxing benefits and then get lost, watching her drift on the wind. Lōlō liked her too, the laid back young weed often mimicking her listing aerial movements from a more grounded vantage, a broad yet lidded smile on her violet features. It delighted the trainer to see the pair play, and enthralled Tate to image drifting on the air with her, perhaps on the back of one of the birds which filled the young avian enthusiast's dreams.

"I talk far too many of you home," mused the manager, from the shady spot beneath the big tree in the Grass-type enclosure, having long since made the decision to adopt the Hoppip. The paperwork was already filled out; it was simply a matter of faxing it to the League for approval. "Lōlō will like to have a friend, though... won't you, Lōlō?"

The Oddish swayed on one foot, leaves fanned out broadly, which Tate took in the affirmative, and peered up at the Hoppip, who swirled away from her playmate on the faintest of breezes. Lōlō did what she could to keep up, but she wasn't much for running, meandering after the cottonweed Pokémon with swaying steps. Tate chuckled at the realization of this duality -- two weeds, unspectacular and largely unappreciated, enjoying each others company.

"Is it hard, being a slave to the breeze... Makani?" The trainer questioned, as the little pink ball drifted down to bounce upon the earth as the air grew momentarily still, finding it only appropriate to name her after that which dictated her life. She cooed on impact, and rolled, right into Lōlō. They laid in the grass together a moment, until the breeze swept Makani up again, and then the chase was on once more. Tate never received an answer; perhaps that was for the best.

"Do what you can to keep her grounded, Lōlō," Tate murmured, with a faint sight, watching the Hoppip drift upwards towards the dark sky. "I imagine it's lonely up there."

Paying $30 to adopt this Lv. 01 (F) Hoppip. Placing her in a Luxury Ball.

A few hours after the adoption paperwork had been submitted, the Adoption Center fax machine buzzes and whirrs to life. The ancient machine groans under the strain of printing a veritable mountain of documentation from the League - approval of species adoption based on current environmental/breeding conditions and adoptee team composition, terms and conditions of adoption based on species, a written confirmation of receipt of adoption paperwork from no less than three sub-departments within the Department of Pokemon Acquisition, manager override approvals for adoption confirmation, review and approval of payment method and amount - it's a veritable storm of papers flying forth from the poor machine. Any time the League had to get involved in the approval of anything, the paperwork multiplied a thousandfold.

What catches Tate's eye is the final, handwritten page spat forth from the old machine, twirling and twisting in the breeze until it finally lands at Tate's feet.

"May you and Makani travel together on fair winds," it says, with three signatures at the bottom. It has the official letterhead, like everything else - but somebody drew a little Hoppip floating over the official League seal. Was this really from the desk of the Elite?

The paper swoops and stutters, lifted by a faint wind - no one remembers leaving the window open, but best to shut it before more papers fly everywhere.

Once again, Keith Masters was visiting the Adoption Center. Once again, this was with the intention of adopting one of their many Pokémon to give it a good home. And once again, almost as soon as he entered, his attention was caught by something decidedly less than usual.

"Oh, geez," Meowth groaned. "Yer gonna adopt 'em, ain't ya?" he asked Keith. Instead of answering, however, Keith kept his focus on the duo currently wrestling on the floor, a pair of arm-like beings with faces in their hands. Not far from them stood a rock with two large holes in the top. Keith had seen this kind of Pokémon before, but never in such a... dismantled state before. He took out his Pokédex and pointed it at the creature.

"Binacle, the Two-Handed Pokémon. A Rock and Water-type," said Keith's Pokédex. "Binacle live in pairs on a single rock. If they fight, one of them may end up moving to a different rock."

"Well, this pair certainly seems to be fighting," Keith observed, as each of the Binacle heads kept on Scratching the other, as a harried-looking Adoption Center employee tried vainly to get the situation under control. For his troubles, he received only a faceful of Sand from the Binacle's Attack. "You OK?" he added to the employee.

"Gah... yeah," croaked the employee after spitting up more sand than a Hippopotas with the stomach flu. "This Binacle started getting restless- been here for weeks and nobody's adopted them yet. No idea what they're fighting over, but it happens more and more frequently, and I can never seem to stop them... and they're not gonna get anyone to adopt them by acting this way, either," he added sadly.

"Ohhhh, no!" Meowth exclaimed, seeing the all-too-familiar gleam in Keith's eye. "Youse can't be tinkin-"

"-about adopting the Binacle?" Keith grinned. "We're long past the point of thinking about it, Meowth." He turned to the employee. "I'll take the Binacle," he said.

'Bina?!" exclaimed both Binacle bodies simultaneously, their fighting stopping at once as they turned to look at who had just volunteered to be their Trainer.

"Hi," Keith smiled, crouching down to greet the Binacle. "I'm Keith. How about I be your Trainer?"

The Binacle exchanged glances, then nods. "Bina! Binacle Binacle!" they exclaimed, hopping up and down. Then, they hopped back over to the rock nearby, each Binacle body inserting itself in one of the large holes. Then, the whole thing hopped over to Keith- now this looked more like Binacle as Keith had seen them in the past! "Bina!" added one of the heads, the one on Keith's left. "Bina Binacle, bina bina Binacle!"

"So accordin' ta dat guy, his name's Elliot, and his associate, da one on yer right, dat's Leroy," Meowth explained. "Collectively dey go by da name Elliott- dat's spelled wit two Ts, whereas da first guy's name, dat's only spelled wit one T. He was weirdly specific about dat," Meowth shrugged.

"Weirdly specific indeed," Keith nodded. "Well, y'know what? I can roll with it," he smiled. "Nothing wrong with a little weirdness." As he spoke, he dug a Premier Ball out of his backpack, offering it to the Two-Handed Pokémon. Leroy reached out for it, only for Elliot to smack him and scold him. Then, the right hand reached out himself to tap the ball's button. The whole Binacle was pulled into the ball, and it barely wobbled before falling still. Keith smiled at the Premier Ball containing his new Binacle for a moment, then turned his attention to the Adoption Center employee, who looked stunned and relieved at the same time. "So," he said. "I guess there's the matter of payment now."

OOC: Adopting the level 1 male Binacle, naming him Elliott (right hand is named Elliot, left hand is named Leroy) housing him in this Premier Ball (#2 of 5), and declaring his Ability to be Tough Claws.

Oh, yeah- payment. That's a thing. 30.

Wandering into the Adoption Centre once more, Ian glanced at the final Poke Ball he had been given by his sister at the start of the journey. Thoughts flit about in his mind about the new friends he had met in this very establishment, although it he wasn't too sure whether he could call them friends when he hadn't gotten to know them better yet. Bergamot was naturally fearful of Suzu due to their type incompatibilities, although she held no ill will towards Archimedes. To be honest, the Sigilyph really didn't do much in terms of communication, he was mainly hovering around in the wind, looking to a distant land presumably. And then Fergus really didn't do much aside from sleep and eat. Ian didn't mind, really.

Looking around, Ian's eyes fell upon an adorable puppy, a young Lillipup, snoozing in his play area while the other Pokemon played around him. Not really one to resort to using his PokeDex much, more of a technological disaster waiting to happen in Ian's hands anyway, he inquired with the employee tending to the Pokemon's food preparation about the little guy.

"Hey there, I was thinking about adopting the snoozing Lillipup over there. Do you have any advice for raising him? I have a Vulpi- oh here she is right now - who usually a bit too mischievous at times..." he began, right when Suzu proceeded to leap onto his back and start gnawing on his hair. "I'd be lucky if I don't grow to become bald, but the things you do for what you love, huh."

Directed to the counter, Ian presented $30 and the required documents to the employee, he could only withhold his excitement at introducing the team to a new crewmate. This final Poke Ball (5/5) from Helena would go to someone special.

Kawaii dashed into the adoption center. This time she was determined to adopt the pokemon she was after. She stopped at the Girafarig cages and knelt down besides the only one left. He seemed to be in an intense argument with his tail. "hey," she said laughing a bit "stop that, it's time to go."
The head looked up at her and blinked meekly nodding towards it's tail.
Kawaii chuckled "Don't worry, you are the boss in this relationship."

Another bunch of days, another adoption. Alice was as convinced as the staff that the remaining Pokemon of the establishment were probably going to be taken by her (although the joke wasn't true-- she had her own Geodude, after all), and on top of that, there were now remarks made about the 'Koffing incident'. Alice apologised profusely, but it wasn't her fault, and they all knew it. Had it happened since? Well, yes, and it was a nightmare, but that was what she had taken home and Alice would handle it.

The summer heat had returned, so it was flat sandals that tapped the floor this time, floral dress sweeping about pasty legs as the trainer made her way down the row. Alice had her blue eyes set on a fighting type this time: a female Machop, probably less popular than her male equivalent, but that didn't matter. Alice had always adored their line, and as Blaze had yet to evolve, there was a fighting-typed hole in her rotation that could do with filling.

"Hey, girl. I know I'm pretty small and I run like a weirdo, but I thought you could whip me into shape and I could love you, make you stronger and show you the world. Sound like a plan?" Alice had a Poke Ball and $30 waiting for her good acquaintances outside, so now she could only hope that the Pokemon thought her good enough to walk out the door with.

Another day, another adoption. After her visit to get Lilith she assumed she was done with the place, sure there were loads of Pokemon that still needed good homes --- but there were also a lot of people that were more than willing to give them just that. Elka herself already had quite a few Pokemon, and each was provided with as much love as she could muster. She knew that the next wouldn't be any different, how could she not love another living creature? Especially ones that were as cute and knowledgeable as Pokemon.

She walked through the double doors of the center, same old, nothing new. The staff had come to know her face, they always greeted her and Pascal kindly when they walked through the door. One of the employees seemed particularly fond of Pascal, often giving him treats as he walked through the door. He seemed particularly fond of the strongly smelling Pokebeans, which blasted Elka's senses uncomfortably. However, Pascal seemed to like them and that was all that mattered, right? Elka had told herself that today would be different, she was just coming in order to look at what Pokemon lined the various cages. She would check out any with her Pokedex that she wasn't sure of, but nothing more. That was what she said, and Pascal was to make sure of it.

However, that was until they got to the 'W' section of the cages and spotted her. She was enchanting, her very presence seemed calming as Elka and Pascal approached her cage. She let out a small 'Woo~' as Pascal sniffed at the foot of her cage, she seemed rather chipper as they eyed her. She was tranquil, peaceful, and even gave off the same vibes to Pascal and Elka.
> Woobat (F) - $30
Elka glanced at Pascal, he gave a brief nod --- he knew full well that his trainer had her sights set on the little creature and it was rather obvious that she wasn't going to back off and let her stay here. She summoned an employee from across the store, claiming that she would like the little creature. The employee nodded, more than familiar with the blue haired trainer at this point.

"Welcome to the team Laylee!" Exclaimed Elka, patting the fluffy fur surrounding the bat's body.

"Ee-vee!" Pascal echoed in response.

"Gah... yeah," croaked the employee after spitting up more sand than a Hippopotas with the stomach flu.

"Binacle, huh?" Tate mused, over the roar of the wet-dry vacuum. Trying to get all the sand up was a hassle, and of course it'd fall upo the manager to do the dirty work no one else wanted to do. They were just volunteer labor adfter all -- the staff really wasn't obligated to do much if they didn't want to. Tate didn't know much about the species; it wasn't native to Johto, nor to Alola, and so the aspiring bird keeper hadn't bothered to commit its details to memory. Killing he power to the appliance for a moment, Tate fished a brightly colored Pokedex out of a back pocket, and pulled up the entry for Binacle.

"So it evolves, huh?" Tate mused, thumbing to the next page. The bizarre creature wasn't to the Johto native's tastes, but then, that's why Tate hadn't adopted it. Rather, the increasingly infamous Mr. Masters had, adding another to the long list of adoptions under his name. Tate had long since come to recognize the young man's signature on the forms. "Well, I'm sure it'll thrive."

The vacuum switched back on. If nothing else, the Binacle was going to live a very interesting and adventurous life. What more could the little guys ask for?

Adoption of Lv. 01 (M) Binacle confirmed.

Ah, the things we endure for love! Being gnawed on, for one. The staffer gives you a sympathetic look as he directs you the counter, where a young woman is busy arranging sracks of papers. She seems startled to be approached by a human being with a Vulpix chewing upon their head, but weirder things have happened in this madhouse, so she brushes it off, and helps you with your paperwork.

Lilipup, huh? Well, she has all sorts of advice for you. You'll need tobrush his coat so it doesn't become matted, especially once he evolves. Ands he'll need plenty of exercise! And a balanced diet not too rich in grains but not too high in protein either -- that's bad for the kidneys! There's really a sweet spot you have to hit if you want him to be healthy. Don't forget to give him plenty of rawhide to chew on so his teeth can stay healthy! And walks are important too!

She rambles on a bit, and then she reaches under her apron and pulls out a wallet. When she opens it, an insert spills out, with a dozen pictures inside. You're flabbergasted! This woman appears to have an entire kennel in her possession; two Lilipup, a Herdier, a Stoutland, two Houndoom, two Houndour, three Snubbull, a Granbull... and that's just what you pick up on as she manically begins showing off her canid brood. She begins to set back into her stern lecture on canine healthcare, but you excuse yourself -- perhaps you can just find a book somewhere?

Adoption of Lv. 01 (M) Lilipup confirmed.
