Rotom Snorby

Trainer Name: Grant Everwood
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Details:
Spoiler: show
Background: Grant grew up in Eterna City, and was the younger brother of the Gym Leader, Gardenia. However, Grant never had the interest in Grass-type Pokemon that one might expect out of someone from a line of Grass Gym Leaders. While he certainly didn't DISLIKE them (or, at least, most of them), he was much more interested in other types. Nonetheless, he loved his family dearly and had an excellent home life growing up.

On his tenth birthday, his father sent him out into Eterna Forest with his Torterra and a single Poke Ball in the hopes that he would find a Grass type of his own to be his first Pokemon. Grant ignored most of the typical forest-dwellers, however. Ever adventurous, he was interested in the Old Chateau, which he had heard rumors about being haunted in school. The thought of getting a Ghost-type Pokemon excited him. A hole in the fence and a broken window later, he was in the dilapidated chateau.

After a few hours of exploring the strange phenomena present in the Chateau, Grant eventually stumbled upon a strange TV. It was unplugged, and yet there was static crackling over the screen. Curious, Grant went to give the TV a thud, and suddenly, a Rotom popped out! Before Grant could even challenge it to a battle, it started curiously floating around him, chirping excitedly as it did so. The little guy then tapped Grant and sped away, indicating it wanted to be followed.

The pair ran around the chateau playing tag all day, and by the time sundown arrived and Grant needed to go home, the pair had bonded so much that Rotom actually stole Grant's Poke Ball and caught himself! Satisfied with his day's work, he went back to his father and showed him his new Rotom with pride. His father was taken aback, not only because Rotom was (disappointingly) not a Grass-type, but also because it was (excitingly) a rather rare Pokemon to find in the wild.

Not wanting to head off on his own yet, Grant stayed at home and attended school, playing with Jupiter in his free time. Eventually, they grew up and began to travel the region together once Grant was nearing adulthood. Not long after they starter their journey together, though, Grant decided to take a boat to Fizzytopia and avoid the pressure of being known as a Gym Leader's relative in his home region.

Appearance: Grant is a young man with a relatively average physique, with his slightly toned body weighing in at around 150 lbs and standing 5'9'' tall. His curly, dirty blonde hair isn't very long, just covering the tips of his ears. His facial hair is usually kept to stubble. He wears a simple, blue T-Shirt and a pair of black basketball shorts, with short socks and black sneakers.

Personality: Grant is a generally laid-back, casual guy. He likes to be left alone, but does fine in social situations so long as they aren't forced upon him. When such a situation is forced upon him, however, he angers very quickly. He's strongly defiant of the restrictions forced upon him by his heritage, so much so that he's fled his home region... three times. As such, he'll be similarly angered if someone recognizes him and tries to talk to him about his family. He has some sense of right and wrong, but doesn't especially care what happens to other humans. He'll help them as easily as he'll hurt them- it all depends on his mood and what serves him best. Despite this, he's much more kindhearted toward Pokemon. He's almost never willing to take advantage of them, and will even go out of his way to help them out. Grant is pretty relaxed, and acts as a calming force on some of his more wily Pokemon.

Personality: Despite her naturally intimidating species, Victoria isn't very ferocious; rather, she's excitable, energetic, and constantly upbeat. She's also very affectionate, be she shows her affection... violently, be it with flaming embers or painful headbutts. She's fiercely protective of things and people she cares about though, quickly resorting to violence if she feels as though she or something she cares about is being threatened. Grant's been trying to cool off her hotheaded, fiery demeanor for ages, but she won't have any of it. Nonetheless, she's completely devoted to Grant. More so, perhaps, than all the rest of Grant's Pokemon bar Jupiter. Victoria is a fierce competitor, and will scarcely flinch from any challenge, no matter how much the deck is stacked against her.

Biography:
Spoiler: show
The first time Grant tried to escape his life in Sinnoh was the least exciting; he simply went to stay with his Uncle, Professor Cozmo, in Fallarbor Town. Cozmo, whom Grant had grown quite attached to, tended to take Grant and Jupiter out to Meteor Falls so they could explore while he worked. The pair loved this, and would spend their day climbing rocky outcroppings, searching for Moon Stones, and trying to find Wild Pokemon to battle. On one such occasion, Jupiter spotted a Moon Stone up on the side of the waterfall, but as a Rotom, he couldn't get dislodge it himself. The ever-confident Grant was quick to try and scale the waterfall- which he did with surprising success!

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to maintain his precarious perch. While he did successfully pull out the moon stone, he lost his balanced and crashed down into the falls below. Scarcely able to keep his head above water, Grant blacked out. When he awoke, he was on the shore of a small cave in the falls, with a concerned Jupiter floating about him. He felt a severe pain almost instantly upon waking up, and looked over to see his left arm badly broken. Cursing his luck, Grant struggled to his feet, and began to look around the cave. Shortly thereafter, he stumbled upon something of an ongoing quarrel; a Bagon was standing protectively in front of a Moon Stone (separate from the one that had gotten Grant into this whole mess), while a Clefairy waved its arms in furious urgency.

Afraid the pair would come to blows, Grant stepped between them, and the Clefairy immediately hid behind a rock out of fear. Assuming Grant also wanted to steal her precious stone, the Bagon charged him, sending him crashing to the floor. Grant screamed out in pain as he fell on his bad arm, and Jupiter chirped angrily at Bagon. The young Dragon-type now understood the gravity of the situation and the went to the Clefairy, begging him to heal Grant in exchange for the Moon Stone. The Clefairy agreed, and used Wish to heal Grant's arm. Morosely, Bagon handed over the Moon Stone in exchange and apologized to Grant. The Clefairy, now able to evolve into Clefable, chirped happily.

Once Jupiter informed Grant of what had happened, the young boy thanked both Clefable and Bagon. Out of gratitude, he gave Bagon the Moon Stone he had broken his arm getting. The Bagon's eyes began to well up; she was thoroughly touched by the gesture. She charged toward Grant once again, but this time, there was no malice in her gaze. She leapt up, grabbing Grant's bag off his shoulder with her teeth, allowing the contents to spill out. Upon seeing a Pokeball, she eagerly headbutted it, and before Grant knew it, the little Bagon had caught herself!

Grant released her from her Poke Ball, and asked her if she was certain she wanted to travel with him and Jupiter. She nodded vigorously. Satisfied and delighted, Grant returned both Jupiter and Bagon to their Poke Balls and asked Clefable to fly him back to his Uncle. Eventually, Bagon had proved herself to be unrelenting optimistic and confident. She never backed down from a challenge, was intensely competitive, and, of course, from a species renowned for its battling prowess. With all these factors in mind, Grant thought it only fitting to name her Victoria, after the Roman Goddess of Victory.

Pokedex Entries:
Spoiler: show
1. Rotom: The Plasma Pokemon
Its body is composed of plasma. Its electric-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief. Research continues on this Pokémon, which could be the power source of a unique motor.

2. Aerodactyl: The Fossil Pokemon
A vicious Pokémon from the distant past, it appears to have flown by spreading its wings and gliding. In prehistoric times, this Pokémon flew freely and fearlessly through the ancient skies while shrieking high-pitched cries.

3. Mimikyu: The Disguise Pokemon
Its actual appearance is unknown. A scholar who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock. A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon. If its neck is broken or its rag torn during an attack, it works through the night to patch it.

4. Bagon: The Rock Head Pokemon
Bagon harbors a never-ending dream of one day soaring high among the clouds. In doomed efforts to fly, this Pokémon hurls itself off cliffs. As a result of its dives, its head has grown tough and as hard as tempered steel. As if trying to dispel its frustration over its inability to fly, this Pokémon slams its hard head against huge rocks and shatters them into pebbles.

5. Spheal: The Clap Pokemon
Spheal always travels by rolling around on its ball-like body. When the season for ice floes arrives, this Pokémon can be seen rolling about on ice and crossing the sea. Its body is covered in fluffy fur. The fur keeps it from feeling cold while it is rolling on ice. Spheal is much faster rolling than walking to get around. When groups of this Pokémon eat, they all clap at once to show their pleasure. Because of this, their mealtimes are noisy.
