A "war story" of a different color ... ^^;
(20:03) Relentless: hi kotoneThe voting options I gave the gang were (a) tell him I'm a guy, (b) let him down some other way (without telling him he'd just hit on a man), (c) ignore him, or (d) other. The votes came in for A and so it was with A I went. And you can see his reaction above. EDIT: So, you're not gonna believe this, but the crazy guy PMs me again with the same song and dance. Here you go: (21:24) Relentless: hi kotoneWhen he first wrote the "...", I thought he'd finally realized we'd had a conversation very similar to this one earlier in the evening. But then he follows it up with an actual complaint about my question rather than freaking out or just leaving it at the ellipsis. Strange.

When I saw that I had two Unowns on this Challenge Cup team, I despaired. But then Gumpy the Swalot came to save the day!

So, after trying to get a battle that has a Cincinno sweep, I had this battle.
A team of one UU, four NU's, and one RU made a really great battle. http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-mas...on--2012-09-06

I was pretty much outplayed the whole game on this one, but all my efforts culminated in an EPIC GLISCOR COMEBACK, bringing it from a 5-2 to a 2-0 win.

So, the Pokemon Online re player is gone. Pokemon Showdown has one though, and I just had this battle here.

Turn 3: you got lucky. 30% chance or less of missing, would've all but guaranteed OHKO'd your Ninetales, and then he would've been able to bring the rain back no sweat. To say nothing of the fact of having a Nasty Plotted Thundurus out. Very, very fortunate miss for your team.
Turn 7: I'm impressed. Didn't think it'd do that much damage to a weakness-neutral, defensive tank like Ferrothorn and with you being burned to boot. Behold the power of a single Swords Dance on Lucario I guess. Turn 9: A wasted turn on his part, both at the time and especially in hindsight given his actions on Turn 10. What he should have done was Scalded you here. Putting down a single layer of Toxic Spikes is terribad. I guess he's "lucky" that it didn't matter anyway considering you have a Venusaur. Turn 13: in hindsight this was retarded on his part. He should've switched to Blissey immediately. WIthout the benefit of hindsight he probably worried you had Power Whip and he was probably optimistic that, without sunlight, Politoed would outrace Venusaur and do mega damage with Ice Beam. It was not to be. Also, the only reason my set would've done "jack shit" here is because of Blissey. (Tentacruel would have been put to sleep and forced out.) So if you want to gloat that your Venusaur is better than mine because of fucking Blissey, you're being retarded and you might as well say that every single Special Attack sweeper is horse shit because of Blissey.

So, since the po replayer is missing in action, is there a way to use the showdown one to play po files?

When he called back his Pokemon and sent out Garchomp to square off against your Donphan, you opted to stay put and use Earthquake. Stay put, fine ... but why Earthquake? Why didn't you use Ice Shard instead? Pretty sure that would've KOd the Garchomp too and you would've had priority, permitting you to avoid the nasty damage Garchomp dealt you.

Talon, stop assuming everyone uses the same sets you use. I have no Ice Shard because I never saw the need for it. Ice Punch Lucario and Dragon Pulse Heatran can cover those bases.

I don't use Ice Shard on Donphan because I don't use Donphan period.
I assumed you had Ice Shard because EVERYONE I have seen has placed Ice Shard on their Donphan. Blaze, quit failing. Quit acting like I'm the one who's retarded for assuming something that you see on 99% of sets. All you have to do is say "I'm not running Ice Shard."

It is more the fact that you tend to do this a lot. Like a particular Dragon Dancing Air Slashing Charizard you said I had at one point. And I can bring up the post if you want me too. Or the Linoone sweep that you thought it was in challenge cup. You have a habit of doing these things. -.-
But, no, I didn't know you never used a Donphan. Why not? I find it is a very good tank, and it is the only spinner in OU that is resistant to Stealth Rock.

ITT: Blaze gets angry when people assume he metas, then questions why others don't conform to the meta

Break it up, ladies.
Seeing the same team over and over again drove me away from the metagame, but then the bullshit matchups I got in Challenge Cup were possibly even worse. I haven't done much OU battling since around the time Garchomp got banned for the first time, might give it a go if I remember to/have the time to do so.

Really Talon. It was a question on why you don't use him. Not you should use him or you will die.

That sounded harsh, and I wuv you Donphan, but what I'm trying to say is that Talon, like me, would rather use a subpar 'mon they like than use a superior 'mon which isn't appealing. Talon, correct me if I'm wrong, that's just the vibe I've gotten from what I've seen of you and competetive battling. Speaking of, we should really battle more often- that duel we had during last year's tourney (or was it the year before?) was one of the funner duels I've had, since your unique sets made it much more of a challenge to figure out what each of your 'mon was capable of. |

Well...that was all I was asking. I don't mind Donphan myself. I have used him on and off with Forretress, who I like a lot more as a Poke, for the past year.
Also, Talon using a stereotypical Starmie set makes me laugh at your statement Kin. Not that at all he doesn't conform to that statement, but it really seems contradictory when he has been using that forever.
