Gemini listened as Vanth explained that each of them met their death much in the same matter. Then, they asked Gemini how they came to be a Weezing in the first place.

"I... don't know," admitted Gemini's large head. "I never remember not being like this. The first thing I ever remember was hatching from my Egg, as a Koffing..."

"And the first thing I remember was all this bright light, and then our trainer getting all excited, going 'It evolved into a Weezing!!!' and stuff like that," added the second head,

"If we had any kind of life before this, we... we don't remember it at all," Gemini's larger head explained.

Meanwhile, Chuck had utilized a sort of telepathic power to ensure that Keith could hear everything he was eavesdropping on, and as Marion and Coselle spoke, Keith found himself unable to speak as he learned that Coselle would essentially die anywhere from six months to a year later.

"...Oh my Arceus," he finally managed to whisper as Chuck broke off the telepathic link. "I... Holy crap."

"I know," murmured the Gastly. Keith rose out of his seat and quietly walked over to his bedroom door.

After a moment's pause, Keith knocked on the door. He wasn't sure how he could offer much in the way of comfort, but damned if he wasn't going to try. "Hey, uh... can I come in?" he asked.

Vanth listens to Gemini's response, yet somehow looks... incredulous while doing so. At first, she flatly says, "I don't believe you." She nods a moment, murmurs "Fascinating..." Then tilts her head, as if confused.

"Gemini... I mean, the smaller one... Are you sure you did not exist within the larger one before that? You have no memories of being before you got your own head? I mean, where did you come from? Are you another Koffing? A talking tumor? What's going on with you?"

Coselle is shocked out of her fetal position by a knock at the door. Almost immediately, she straightens up and begins fixing her hair, looking for the nearest mirror. She turns to Marion, nodding towards the door, and Marion returns the nod to her sister before moving to let Keith in. She stares at Keith a moment, her look communicating the gravity of the situation, before leaning in to whisper; "It's probably best that you talk with her alone." She pauses, her voice dropping even lower. "Also... You may not be so lucky the next time you eavesdrop on our conversation. Cosie hates when people invade her privacy..."

Marion gracefully moves out of the way and into the next room, so that Keith can speak with Coselle in private. Bedivere immediately approaches his trainer with a big, juicy steak, and an even bigger smile.

"My dear lady, you are looking paler than ever! This will surely help." He gently places the plate in her hands and produces a fork and knife, cutting a piece for his trainer and dangling it in front of her mouth. Marion smiles at Bedivere, and gently hands the plate back.

"Thank you so much, Bedi, it looks delicious... but I don't feel very good right now." This statement immediately draws the attention of Cheshire, who produces a chessboard from seemingly nowhere.

"Would you, perchance, feel better with a rousing game of chess?"

"Oh, you and Bedivere can play if you want... I wouldn't mind watching." Marion gives Cheshire a half-hearted smile, though she appears quite weighted down. Murmur, unsure of what to do, simply floats beside her, providing his company, while he cheers for Bedivere in the chess match.

"If I knew, I'd have said something," replied Gemini's smaller head, in a tone which suggested he'd be shrugging his shoulders, if he had any. "Like I said, the first thing I ever remember is a lot of light, and Keith exclaiming that we evolved into a Weezing."

"And I don't remember him ever being, like, a part of me back when I was a Koffing," the larger head added. "Keith- our trainer- he knows a lot about Poison-types, and his theory is that when a Koffing evolves into Weezing, the second head is just born then and there. None of us know for sure what exactly causes it."

Over in the bedroom, Marion left Keith and Coselle to talk in private, while whispering to Keith that he might not be as lucky the next time he eavesdropped on them, stating that Coselle hated it when her privacy was invaded.

"Well," Keith said as he walked over to Coselle. "I... I guess it'd be pointless to pretend I didn't hear what went on in here just now." He sighed, taking in the weight of the situation. "That... that really isn't fair," he said quietly as he sat on the bed next to Coselle and gently put his arm around her. "You shouldn't have to die a second time... I hope Marion figures something out, I really do."

Meanwhile, in the living room, as Marion watched Bedivere and Cheshire play chess, another Gastly materialized beside Marion. "Well, well, my original trainer," Chuck said, grinning. "Don't believe we formally met, not before your sister traded me to Keith, anyway. The name's Chuck. You're Marion, correct?"

"That's boring," Vanth groans as she goes back to finishing her steak. "What, nothing to drink? Does your trainer have any drinks around here, Weezing?" Vanth sighs. "I don't know why there are so many people in here. Maybe some of us deserved to die. WHAT DID YOU SAY? YOU TAKE THAT BACK!" Vanth shakes her head violently, apparently caught in another vicious mental argument.

Coselle tries her best to appear nonchalant when Keith enters the room, kneeling on the bed with her upper posture straight and self-assured, facing a pocket mirror as she quaffs herself... The moment he admits that he overheard the conversation, however, she whips around, her eyes wet with tears, burning with rage.

"Well, then you know why I am a complete and utter waste of time," Coselle spits her words out venomously before hanging her head, ebony strands obscuring her face. "I should not have been so selfish as to let you fall in love with me. I know I could have tried harder, you know, to make you hate me... but now I can't bring myself to..." Coselle winces with the effort of trying to hold back her weeping, a soft cry issuing from her throat. "What if Marion doesn't figure anything out? I don't want you going through that nonsense. You're, what, 22? Too young to be burying a lover, that's for damn sure."

Coselle looks up at the ceiling, her eyes glassy and drained of what little color existed within them. She leans into Keith, captured by a memory. "I remember my funeral, you know," Coselle murmurs. "The sun was so bright that it hurt. I had to hide in the shadows so no one would see me and call me a 'bad omen'. No one can resist the call of their own funeral. The priest was an obnoxious little shit... Loved to hear himself talk. Of course, Dad came. A couple exes, a few relatives I didn't recognize... But I couldn't look at Dad. I just... I just couldn't. Not after what happened. It made me so sad... and, and so angry, that I couldn't even breathe. He didn't even look like himself. He looked... so fragile, like a doll. That was the moment I knew that I had to get revenge. That was the moment I channeled when I murdered the woman that took my life... I did it for my father." Coselle sighs deeply as her cheeks bear the overflow of her drenched eyes. "And for Mary."

Coselle looks up at Keith, trying to smile. "Dying is not the hard part. I can deal with the pain. It is the people you have to leave behind that truly hurts."

Meanwhile, Chuck introduces himself to Marion, which brings a bit of happiness back to the melancholy trainer's face. "Nice to formally meet you, Chuck," Marion says with a grin. "I realize that the trade happened really fast, but Coselle was so insistent upon trading you to Keith... and he was so excited to have you on his team." Marion smiles a bit. "I'm sure you must be glad to see Cheshire again. The two of you really hit it off from what I can tell."

"The Brotherhood of Gastlies must always stand strong," Cheshire proudly says, before displaying an illusory shield with a Gastly symbol on it. "Keith, myself and Chuck are all a part of the Brotherhood. Darker than the Dark Brotherhood, the Brotherhood of Gastlies owns the night, stalking its pray with precision, destroying all foes with a mighty game of chess!!" Cheshire chuckles a bit after his rousing speech. "Right, Chuck?"

"There's some drinks in the refrigerator," Gemini's larger head replied. "Pretty decent variety, too." At that moment, however, another vicious mental argument seemed to get underway. The two heads exchanged glances, and with great hesitation, squeaked out another greatly weakened Thunderbolt.

Keith shook his head as Coselle asserted that she was a waste of time, blaming herself for letting him fall in love with her. "Coselle, you are not a waste of time," Keith said firmly. "Not to me. These past few months with you have been the best of my life. And even if Marion doesn't figure anything out... She said you'd return to being a Banette, so it's not like you'd be completely gone, right?" He then listened as Coselle recalled her own funeral, and then stated that the hard part would be the pain of leaving others behind, as opposed to the dying itself. Keith sighed, looking back at Coselle. "Yeah... But like I said, you won't really be leaving anyone behind, will you? You'll be a Banette again. It would complicate things a bit, probably, but you still wouldn't really be gone. And yeah, it's true that Marion might not figure something out... then again, it's just as true that she might." A small smile formed on Keith's face, a very small one. "And even if you do die, then I'll be damned if I let you die alone."

"Oh, yes, he was very excited," grinned Chuck as Marion stated how excited Keith was to finally get his own Gastly. "And I must say, I don't think I could ended up with a better trainer, though from what I hear of your affinity for ghosts, you would certainly come close." Marion then suggested that Chuck must be glad to see Cheshire again. Keith's Gastly nodded as Cheshire went into a rousing speech. "Right!" grinned Chuck once Cheshire had stopped talking and asked Chuck what he thought. Chuck proceeded to watch the chess match between Bedivere and Cheshire. "I'd like to play the winner, by the way," he added. "I've been teaching Peeves the game, and getting a little practice in myself."

"Oooo, do you have Ramune Soda? My favorite is the kimchi flavor~" Vanth starts, before stopping mid-float. "Ewww! Kimchi is sooo nasty. I want diet coke. But diet soda sucks! Don't you want to watch our figure? I will not let you ingest massive amounts of sugar and ruin our body!!" These comments segue into Vanth's eventual mental shouting match, which pushes Gemini (albeit with great hesitation) to perform a very weak thunderbolt on the insane Spiritomb. Weak from the first thunderbolt, she nearly faints from the second, but keeps it together. "Ughhh... fuuuuck..." The ghostly creature hangs her head, looking like she has a massive headache. "It hurts, but it's better than the arguing, anyway. Thank you," she says, trying to smile.

Keith asserts to Coselle that she has not been a waste of time, stating that the past few months have been the best of his life. "Even though I fractured at least three different bones in your body?" Coselle giggles a bit at the memory despite her sadness. The giggle subsides quickly, however, and she sighs deeply. "I will be a Banette again. But that's not right, Keith. Already, I know how people stare at us, gossiping about us... about you. You know I don't give a damn about what they think about me, but you... Giratina, sometimes I just want to punch them." Coselle smacks a fist into her open palm and grunts, displaying her violent intent towards those who would speak ill of her lover. "I would rather not give them more ammo... I would rather... Ugh, I would rather things be some semblance of normal. But what was I thinking? Nothing will ever be normal with me. Not now, not ever."

Coselle leans back, snuggling up to Keith, her eyes looking up at him. "Do you ever think of the future? Do you ever think... about what will happen?" Coselle pauses. "Honestly... I try not to."

Marion nods, clearly pleased that Chuck is so happy with his new trainer. "Well, I am a ghost-type specialist, and Keith is a poison-type specialist... That would make both of us well-equipped to raise a Gastly, now, wouldn't it?" Marion chuckles a bit. "One day, we will have to set up a battle between you and Cheshire to see who has done a better job of raising their Gastly. What do you think, Chuck? Think you could take Cheshire on?"

Cheshire immediately creates the illusion of armor around himself. "I would dearly like to see him try," Cheshire retorts half-tauntingly, half-jokingly.

The match between Bedivere and Cheshire is certainly an interesting one; Cheshire, always the ebony side, with Bedivere taking ivory. At first, it looks as though Cheshire has the clear advantage; taking piece after piece, Bedivere's army appears to be decimated at first. However, the classy jellyfish Pokemon seems to have a few tricks up his sleeve, as he lures Cheshire into a horrible trap, resulting in the loss of his precious ebony queen. The battle rages on, with many lives lost, until finally, with a flourish of his tentacle, Bedivere traps Cheshire's King in the corner of the board.

"My good man, I am afraid it is checkmate, ohohoho~" Bedivere bows to Cheshire, a grin on his face. "You are a most worthy opponent, indeed... but none in the entire country could best me in my glory days, ohohoho~! Oh, but they did indeed try~!"

Bedivere turns to Chuck, bowing gracefully. "Are you ready to do battle then, Sir Chuck?"

"You're welcome," Gemini's larger head replied as Vanth thanked them for snapping them out of their argument. "But... We do wish there was a better way... I... I don't feel right having to hurt you like that."

"Same here," added the Weezing's second head. "You're pretty nice. Well, most of you, anyway. If only we could use Thunder Wave- that would paralyze without causing any actual damage."

"Let them think what they want to about me, about us," Keith said to Coselle. "I know others gossip about us. And I don't let it bother me. It's not like we need their approval. Honestly, I don't give a Raticate's ass what they think of us. I told you, that day at the park, that if being with you would make me an outcast, then so be it. I stand by that statement to this day. I don't even know any of the people who I know were gossiping about us, and call me crazy, but I'd rather be with the woman I love than have the approval of complete strangers." Coselle then asked Keith if he ever thought about the future, about what will happen, and confessed that she tried not to. "I don't give it much thought myself," Keith admitted. "You could spend so much time worrying about what could happen that you forget to appreciate the present."

Back in the living room, Chuck nodded at Marion's remark on how both she and Keith were well suited to raising Gastly, given their respective specialties, and how Gastly falls under them both. "It would indeed, I'd have to say," Chuck agreed. His ever-present grin grew wider at the notion of battling Cheshire, and as Marion asked if he could take on Cheshire, Chuck replied, "As I am right now? Most assuredly not. I have little more to work with than Hypnosis, Lick, and Thunderbolt. They're all good moves, certainly, but I'm not convinced they'd be enough. But I would very much like to battle Cheshire, yes, just not until I've gained a few more moves and levels." As he said this, Bedivere declared checkmate, claiming victory over Cheshire, and asked if Chuck was ready. "Bring it," grinned Chuck as he floated over to where Cheshire had been.

"What would make you feel better about hurting us, then? It is the only way we know." Vanth heaves a great sigh, looking forlorn. "The jolt causes some of the voices to die down completely for awhile, and others to completely forget what we were fighting about. It's such a-" Midsentence, another personality takes over, batting her eyes and giggling like a schoolgirl. "Say, Gemmy... Ummmm, like, you haven't told us much about yourself, right? Why don't you, like, do that? Like, you know, tell us stuff that makes you, ummm... like, you?" Vanth tilts her head, blinks, and suddenly looks annoyed. "What the hell was that," she asks, apparently quite appalled at the personality that had recently surfaced.

Coselle cheers up somewhat at Keith's assertion that he would rather have the love of the woman he cared for so deeply than the approval of strangers. If she was the one that he loved, he was going to stick by her, no matter what. He then goes on to say that he is not one to think much about the future, either. "Best we not start, then," Coselle says with a bit of a laugh. "With things as bleak as they are, I'd rather just not think about it. Leave that sister of mine to do the thinking for us, eh? Screw that whole Momento Mori bullshit. Enjoying life... That is exactly what we should do."

Laying on her side, Coselle clings to Keith's chest, as if for dear life, resting her head on his shoulder. She hides her face, presumably to conceal how deeply distressed she has become. "We will not think about it from this point forward, then. It is a thought that will not cross our minds. There are so many other things to think about, right?"

Cheshire chuckles a bit. "My movepool is in need of some assistance, as well... both of us need training, but one day, we shall do battle!"

Meanwhile, Bedivere brings the pieces back to their original positions, smiling calmly at his latest opponent. "Chess is a fascinating game, do you not agree? If only all disputes in this world were settled with a nice game of chess..." Bedivere sighs dreamily before picking up a white knight, moving it in the classic L-shape in front of the line of pawns. "Were chess the manner in which all kingdoms were won and lost... I would rule the world, ohohoho~"

Gemini listened as Vanth explained that getting hurt was the only way they knew of to stop the voices from arguing, and asked what would make the Weezing feel better about having to hurt them. Before either head could answer, however, another one of Vanth's many personalities took hold, this one decidedly schoolgirl-esque as she asked Gemini to tell them about themselves. And then, as suddenly as it came, the original personality took back the wheel, and Vanth muttered, wondering what the hell that was. Gemini's heads exchanged glances before the larger one replied. "Well, that was unexpected," he said. "Still, we could tell you a few things about ourselves, if you want us to, of course."

Keith nodded as Coselle stated that what they should do is enjoy life. "Oh, yes," he stated. "So many other things to think about. The only thing in the future I'm thinking about right now is when we pick up where we left off," he continued with a grin. "But anyway... how about we go in the other room for now?" he asked Coselle. "There's a few Pokemon of mine I'm pretty sure you have yet to meet- I told you an Egg I got hatched into a Foongus, right? And then there's my Blue-Striped Basculin."

Over in the other room, what appeared to be a slightly oversized Poke Ball rolled slowly out from under a table- only to have it turn right side up, revealing himself to be a Foongus, who looked around shyly at all the newcomers. Noticing the only human currently in the room, Six rolled over to Marion, looked up at her, and said in an almost imperceptibly quiet voice, "Um... Hi."

As Bedivere began the new game of chess, Myrtle floated over to the Frillish, looking decidedly preoccupied about something. "Be-di-vere," she said quietly, "I was won-der-ing if I could ask your ad-vice on some-thing. It can wait un-til your game is o-ver, of course," she added, only just noticing the chessboard.

"Oh, not a problem, Myrtle," laughed Chuck. "I can wait. Go ahead and talk right now if you want."

"Well, why not? We did ask, after all," Vanth chuckles a bit. "It would be rude to ask and not expect an answer."

Coselle laughs darkly at Keith's singular thought of the future. "Just like a man, hmmm?" She smirks as she leans in close, her voice lowering to a soft hiss. "Ah, but not to worry. The moment Marion leaves... I am tearing you apart." Coselle cackles, almost maniacally, as she jumps up from the bed, opening the door for Keith. "To the other room, then? I have been meaning to get better acquainted with your Pokemon, after all..."

Concentrating deeply on the research that she had unearthed about her sister, Marion almost misses the tiny voice that addresses her; shaken out of her reverie, she turns to meet the little Foongus that has said hello. Though she cannot understand the language which it speaks, she can sense that the Foongus is attempting to greet her.

"Hello, there! Nice to meet you, little guy! You must be Lily and James' child. Six, right? I've heard all about you from Keith." She extends a hand for the little guy to shake, while removing a Premier ball from her belt. "I think I have someone here that would make a good playmate for you."

Marion points the Pokeball to her lap, and materializes the silhouette of a tiny fox Pokemon, which rests very comfortably on Marion's lap. As the bright light fades, it becomes apparent that the Pokemon she has called out is an Eevee... but this particular Eevee is markedly different than Six's teammate Cyanide, in that his fur is a remarkably pale, almost ghostly color. Marion pats the Eevee on the head, whose face brightens the moment he receives her attention. "Kuranes, this is Six. Want to say hello?"

The sleepy-looking Eevee yawns a bit, his soft eyes looking kindly upon the shy, bashful Six. After a pause, the Eevee finally speaks; You seem afraid. What frightens you so?

Meanwhile, before Chuck can even make his first move, Myrtle floats over to Bedivere, and he can read clearly from the look on her face that something is definitely on her mind. Myrtle confirms his suspicions, stating that she would like to talk with him about something, but would not mind waiting until the game is over. Fortunately, Chuck is more than willing to suspend the game, especially at such an early stage.

"If Chuck does not see the matter with putting our game on hold, then I do not see the matter with it, either! Let us go then, you and I, when the evening is spread out against the sky like a patient etherized upon the table, ohohoho~" Bedivere gracefully stands up, floating away from the game to address Myrtle. "Shall we speak here, or must you direct me somewhere else to talk? Whatever will make you happy shall make me happy too, ohohoho~"

"True," conceded Gemini's larger head. "Well... Might as well start at the beginning. I hatched from my Egg eight years ago, somewhere in the Fiery Path in Hoenn. Nobody was there to see it happen. I didn't know my parents. For two days I floated around aimlessly, looking for my family, living off whatever scraps of garbage I could find. Then I stumble across this territory belonging to this pair of Machop. They weren't very welcoming. The older of the two Machop, he starts beating me up. I try to fight back, but I'm too low in level. All I had was Poison Gas and Tackle, and they weren't stopping it. Finally, his Mega Kick sends me flying, and I land at the feet of this fourteen-year-old human. He realized very quickly what was going on, and he caught me in a Poke Ball, and he rushed me out of that cave. Next thing I know, I'm in the Lavaridge Town Pokemon Center having my injuries treated. The nurse gave me back to Keith- my trainer- and told him to look after me for a week to help me fully recover before letting me back into the wild. And that week was just incredible, I had never known anyone more kind before. I liked him right from the start, before I even got to know him. He spent all his spare time with me that week, and when it came time to release me... I didn't want to go, and he didn' want me to go. So we just looked at each other, and that's when we knew that from then on, I was his Pokemon. About a week after that, Keith got his trainer's license, and made his way out here to Fizzytopia."

"I came into the picture, oh, about three years later," added the smaller head. "But that's enough about us for now- what about you, Vanth?"

Coselle declared Keith's sole thought of the future as typical of men, but then assured him that she would tear him apart once Marion leaves. Keith knew perfectly well that Coselle very likely meant that in a more literal fashion, but her words brought a grin to his face nevertheless. Coselle then held the door open for Keith, and stated that she had been meaning to get better acquainted with his Pokemon. "All right, then, let's go," Keith said as he walked into the other room, first leading Coselle over to the aquarium across the room, which currently only contained Pisces, his Blue-Striped Basculin.

As Marion extended a hand, Six timidly shook it with one of his stubby little hands. Marion then sent out her newest Pokemon for Six to meet- Kuranes, a Shiny Eevee. Kuranes was sent out right onto Marion's lap, from where he looked down kindly at Six, and asked what frightened the young Foongus.

"Uh... Um... Well..." squeaked Six, "I... I guess I'm just... kinda... a little n-nervous around others... Um... Mom and Dad tell me I should try to... to talk to others a little... little more... Uncle Severus says that too..." As Six spoke, he seemed to be trying to obscure his face with his mushroom cap. "Um... Y-your trainer said your name was... Kuranes, right? It's... Um... It's nice to... to meet you... Kuranes. M-my name is Six."

"Per-haps we could talk a lit-tle more pri-vate-ly?" Myrtle suggested. "I am not cer-tain I want to be o-ver-heard..." She led Bedivere over to the corner near the refrigerator, where nobody was. Myrtle sighed before she continued speaking. "Be-di-vere... Re-mem-ber how you would al-ways in-sist that I loved Ne-ville, and how I would al-ways de-ny it, and you would claim I was ly-ing? Well... The lies I told you were in fact lies, I just did not know this un-til re-cent-ly," Myrtle said quietly. "Un-til re-cent-ly, I thought I was in love with a-noth-er... It was you, in fact... But with you, I guess what I loved was that you had shown me more kind-ness than I had e-ver known in life," Myrtle admitted. "But... I know how I feel now. I am tru-ly in love with Ne-ville. And I be-lieve he feels the same way a-bout me, but that is not the big prob-lem," Myrtle sighed. "No, the is-sue is... how do I tell Meat Sack and Co-selle? They hate Ne-ville. Near-ly e-ver-y-one on my team hates Ne-ville. I do not need their app-ro-val, of course, but it would still be nice... What should I do, Be-di-vere?" Myrtle asked. "I want to tell them, but I know they will not be hap-py a-bout it..."

Vanth is surprisingly calm during Gemini's tale of becoming Keith's Pokemon; despite exhibiting the occasional twitch and inaudible muttering, she controls herself well enough to avoid any outbursts during the tale. When he asks what her story happens to be, she nearly explodes with answers.

"I was a trainer on the S.S. Anne- NO! I was a clerk at Silph Co., been working there for five... Magma, Team Magma, rising through the ranks, just got my first... a lady fisherman off the coast of the Lake of Rage, don't see the likes of me too often any- people paid me a lot for my movies, you know - I wonder how my children are doing - we are all wondering how our Pokemon are doing - you had Pokemon? Lucky son of a bi- Hey, that type of language is totally inappropriate. Now why don't you all just settle down and listen to how I helped construct the Village Bridge-"

Eventually, one of Vanth's personalities cries out; "ENOUGH! We will be here for at least a year if we let every one of us tell our life story. Let us start from what we all agree on... When we first became a Spiritomb." Vanth visibly rolls her eyes, as some of the other personalities display their annoyance, but Vanth goes on to describe her memories anyhow.

"We woke up in a daze. Hard to say what the room was like. We all started talking at once; the pain was indescribable, it is hard to even explain what it is like to have so many voices trapped in one head. We tried to speak, but only garbled nonsense came out. It was as if we were all talking at once, and all that could come out was screams. There were people there - we do not remember them clearly, as our head was in such pain that it was hard to even see straight - but we remember a male voice, speaking loud and clear; 'Check the development records. Something is clearly wrong with this one.' We don't know what happened next... We felt our body being sucked into some kind of vortex... We know now it was a Pokeball, but at the time, we thought we were somehow being terminated for whatever fault had occurred in our development.

Fast forward, and we find ourselves materializing in a place we don't recognize-" Vanth's voice suddenly changes to a higher pitch; "Uh, YOU may not recognize it, but I've been there before. It was the Coins for Prizes Shop. I remember going there to buy my Vaporeon back when she was an Eevee. I guess we were sent there to be dumped on whatever poor sod would be willing to train a defective Spiritomb. We were sad, distressed, constantly fighting - the only personalities that had the strength to manifest were the ones that only wanted to cause utter destruction.

Eventually, we learned to speak in turns. It was hard, because none of us wanted to let go of control, but we had to make decisions. Until one of us wins out over the others... We have to take turns, though some of us still don't know how to- HEY, watch the attitude, missy." Vanth narrows her eyes. "This is exactly what I mean. I wasn't even finished. SO. RUDE." Vanth shakes her head, grimacing a bit. "Anyway... a young lady came to adopt us as a gift for a trainer friend of hers. She seemed really excited about it... Even if we did do a number on her. Marion is nice enough, I guess, but her sister really knows how to keep us focused. She was inspired by electroshock therapy in humans, and figured out that Taran's thunder wave could stop the voices momentarily when they either got overwhelming or malevolent. She was hesitant at first... like you... but in the absence of other methods, it is a necessary evil."

Coselle follows Keith to the aquarium, admiring the the vicious, predatory Pisces. "I like the look in her eye," she says with a smirk to Keith. "Real no-nonsense type of gal, hmmm? I appreciate that." Coselle leans in to take a better look at the blue-striped Basculin, addressing her in Banette language. You must be Pisces, then? I am Coselle... but perhaps you know me better as Minerva.

Kuranes gives Six a sympathetic look. I suppose it is hard to speak to others... all of their thoughts are inside their heads, locked away tightly. They are like iceburgs, I suppose, in that way. One never knows what they are like... how dangerous they are, underneath. I wonder what it would be like to know what people are thinking. It would certainly make other people less scary... Then again, we would lose all of that lonesome incubation, that separation from others that differentiates us, the space within our own heads to develop. Besides, isn't the process of finding out what people are like exciting? I guess the nervousness is worth it, in that way... Think of it as an adventure. Kuranes chuckles, extending a paw in greeting much as his trainer did. You can call me K. Most of the team does.

Bedivere nods with a gentle smile, allowing Myrtle to lead him to a more private area to speak. Myrtle confesses her love for Neville, admitting that she at first thought that Bedivere was her true love, only to realize that Bedivere's insistent pairing of the Shuppet and the Stunfisk was based in truth. Unfortunately, Myrtle knew how badly that Coselle and Keith would take the news... and sought Bedivere's advice for how to deal with breaking the news to them. Bedivere seems deep in thought for a moment.

"If you do not need their approval, then what does it matter how they react? If you are in love, then you are in love, and that is all there is to it! Ohohoho~" Bedivere grins. "Ah, but my dear Lady Myrtle, even if they rant and rave, they must want what is best for you. If this love is what will complete your heart and fill your soul, then what does it matter if you are in love with a creature so reviled and despised by others? It will take time. It may hurt, the words that they use, the jeers, the violent expressions. But they will learn... they will learn to trust in what your heart tells you, as you have only recently begun to do yourself. Ah, my dear lady... I am glad... so glad... that the truth made itself plain to you in the nick of time. I wish you all the happiness in the world. I hope you know that, ohohoho~" Bedivere wraps his tentacles around Myrtle, embracing her tightly, as a dear friend. "Do not fear whatever comes, because love is in your heart. It will protect you, ohohoho~!"

Gemini listened patiently as Vanth's various personalities all fought to tell their life stories first, until one of the personalities put a stop to it and started to talk about the one point at least most of them could agree upon- when they became a Spiritomb. Eventually, they revealed that Taran's Thunder Wave could stop the voices when an argument broke out.

"We guess so," sighed Gemini's larger head as Vanth explained that it was a necessary evil. "Still, Taran is using Thunder Wave. All we've got to work with is Thunderbolt, and we're pretty sure that's a lot more painful, even when we try to tone it down."

"Still, I guess we could try to get used to it," added the smaller head. "If it helps you more than it hurts you, we'll try to be fine with it."

Coselle seemed to admire Pisces, remarking on how she seemed to be a real no-nonsense type. "Oh, yeah," nodded Keith. "As far as Pisces is concerned, everyone falls into one of two categories; those she respects, and those she has yet to eat." Coselle then greeted Pisces in Banette language, introducing herself as Coselle, and then stating that she might know her better as Minerva.

"Yes, I've heard of you," replied Pisces. "And if half the stuff I've heard about you is true, then I consider it a pleasure to meet you, Coselle."

Kuranes sympathized with Six's lack of confidence in speaking with others, before going off on a tangent, wondering what it would be like to be able to know what others are thinking. He then offered a paw for Six to shake, telling him he can call him K. "Um... Sure, K," replied Six quietly as he shook the Shiny Eevee's paw. "Um... I... I do like getting to know others... I guess... kinda... I guess it is a little exciting... I... I'm not sure if I'd... like to know what... what others are thinking, though. I... I worry enough as it is... you know, what other people think of me... Whether someone would rather... you know... attack me, rather than talk to me... Dad's always telling me I shouldn't worry so much... But sometimes I can't help it..."

Just then, a Dustox flew down, hovering next to the Foongus. "Hey there, buddy," Severus said to Six. "There you are!"

"Oh, oh, hi, Uncle Severus," Six replied, sounding slightly more at ease in the Dustox's presence. "Um... This is Kuranes, my friend. Kuranes, this is my Uncle Severus."

"Pleased to meet you," Severus said to the Eevee. "I'm glad Six here is making himself new friends, James and Lily are always trying to help him be a little more outgoing."

Over in the corner, Bedivere told Myrtle that if she didn't need the approval of Keith and Coselle, then what they thought shouldn't matter that much to her how they reacted. "Thank you, Be-di-vere," Myrtle said after the Frillish had had his say. "You are right... It should not mat-ter how they re-act, be-cause I know how I feel, and that is all I need. It is just... I have al-ways had re-spect for Co-selle, and I am e-ven star-ting to have some re-spect for Meat Sack... But you are right," she said again, sounding a little more determined. "How-e-ver they re-act, all that mat-ters is what my heart tells me." With that, she floated over to where Keith and Coselle were, at the fish tank containing Pisces.

"Hey, Myrtle," Keith said.

"Meat Sack," replied Myrtle. "Co-selle. I have some-thing I need to tell you, but... I am not sure how to put it..."

"Well, what is it?" Keith asked. "Give it a shot."

"...Well," Myrtle said, looking down, "I... I have re-cent-ly dis-co-vered that Be-di-vere is not the Po-ke-mon I am in love with af-ter all..."

"Well, then who?" asked Keith. When Myrtle hesitated to answer, he gave a little chuckle. "Come on, now," he continued. "How bad can it be? I mean, what possible Pokemon can you possibly be in love with that is so shocking that you don't want to say it? I mean, it's not like you're in love with Neville, or something absurd like that," Keith said as he started laughing. At this, however, Myrtle gave Keith a very significant look, and his laughter slowly died down as his eyes widened in shock and dawning comprehension, his amused grin morphing into a more horrified look.

"Well..." Myrtle began.

"No," Keith said in a hushed tone. "No, no. Myrtle... Please tell me that you're not in love with that... that... that thing, that electrically charged hellspawn. Myrtle, come on now, please tell me, this isn't funny."

"Damn straight, it's not fun-ny," Myrtle said. "I am in love with Ne-ville."

Keith could not respond to this. No words came to him as he stared at Myrtle as though fearful for her sanity. The Shuppet could taste her trainer's shock, horror, and outrage, and while it would have made a most delectable meal for her, Myrtle wasn't all that hungry at the moment.

Vanth nods vaguely, before floating off, distracted... she begins to wander about the Base, looking around at everything, humming a little tune. "I do not know what this place is, but it looks nice," she says contentedly. "I love the decor."

Keith confirms Coselle's suspicions about the Basculin's no-nonsense personality; the fish either saw others as individuals to be respected, or as prey, with no in-between. Given Pisces' reference to the stories about Minerva and her obvious lack of hostility towards her, Coselle mused that she must fall in the former category.

A pleasure to meet you, as well. I have to say... I like your categorization system. Coselle's eyes flicker with a bit of dark mischief. Perhaps I should adopt it myself...

Meanwhile, Marion silently watches over Kuranes and Six as they interact, noting that Severus has decided to join in the conversation. She gives him a silent wave, but decides not to interrupt their discussion.

Most do not attack without reason... though one wonders if any reason is good enough to be so cruel. Kuranes snorts, looking a little annoyed. I do not appreciate the lust some creatures have for constant sparring and violence. Seems altogether unnecessary, most of the time. Kuranes shakes his head. Anyway... If you fear attack, you should learn how to defend. Then you will not be afraid, because you will be able to endure any onslaught that may occur. That would seem the most reasonable answer. Then again... Perhaps if you learned how to change the minds of those who seek to attack you, the strategy would serve you even better. What do you think?

Kuranes then turns his attention to Severus, who has joined in the conversation. You are his uncle, then? He looks to Severus, then to Six, then back at Severus. I see the resemblance... Not physically, perhaps, but still, it is there all the same. Kuranes gives both Severus and Six a wide, daydreamy smile.

Meanwhile, after gaining a bit more confidence from her talk with Bedivere, Myrtle finally decides to float over to Keith and Coselle, who are still talking beside the fish tank. Keith greets his Pokemon, and Coselle gives her a small smile and a nod in acknowledgement. Though most of her powers were unusable in her current state, she could still sense emotions from others... and Myrtle was definitely sweating bullets. Perhaps her feelings had something to do with Bedivere... No matter what the reason, Coselle decides that the matter is best left to Keith to resolve, and so she decides to take on the role of observer as Keith asks his Shuppet what she would like to tell him. Coselle had to admit that she was a little shocked that Myrtle no longer pined for Bedivere; she seemed to have fallen hard, but she supposed that bit of puppy love was destined to fade. What bothers Coselle, however, is the feeling of fear radiating off of Myrtle... What potential boyfriend was so terrible as to produce this feeling? Not wanting to be hypocritical, having dated her fair share of bad boys in the past, Coselle keeps her mouth shut, but cannot help but worry for her younger friend. What kind of trouble was she getting herself into...?

Keith tries his best to be reassuring. After all, he was a fairly laid-back person, who allowed his Pokemon all manner of freedom. He tries to lighten the mood by cracking a joke, suggesting that at least Myrtle was not in love with her arch-nemesis Neville... Right? Right? Coselle knew the answer before it even dawned on Keith, such was the strength of Myrtle's feelings. Coselle grits her teeth, her eyes narrowing into tiny, pale slits. Balling up her fists, she does her level best not to begin screaming at the top of her loves.

"Myrtle, darrrlinggg..." Coselle fights not to slip into her stutter, but as her rage builds, it gradually takes over; "What makes you think that Ne-ville is ca-pa-ble of love at all? Has he been try-ing to se-duce you, per-haps? Do not tell me you are fall-ing for it... You re-mem-ber the last time I spoke with him... Said he had changed... HAH!" The laugh comes out like a battle cry, ringing through the Secret Base. "He is a sad-ist and a tor-tur-er. He will de-light in your pain. The mo-ment you fall in love with him... you will be at his mer-cy. Is that what you want? To let him string you on, on-ly to be left hurt-ing? He is a vile, soul-less mon-ster! Get that through your head, Myr-tle! DO NOT FALL FOR USELESS SCUM LIKE HIM!"

Upon hearing Coselle screaming, Marion gently places Kunares down on the floor beside Six, and rushes over to the fish tank to make sure she's there in the event that she needs to be restrained. Even if Coselle seemed completely unable to use her powers, there was always that chance...

Gemini floated alongside Vanth. "It's our trainer's Secret Base," explained the Weezing's larger head. "Brand new, too- we had just finished with the decorating, and then everyone here started showing up about two minutes later."

"We helped with the decorating, him and I," added the smaller head.

Six listened as Kuranes stated that if he fears attack, he should learn to defend. "Um... Well, I do know one move that could help a little with defending..." he said quietly. "I... I can use Defense Curl... If you'd like to see it, I... I could show you... A-and, I like the sound of... of that idea... you know... changing the minds of others who would... want to attack me... I-I'm not sure how I could do that, though," he added nervously.

As Myrtle had feared, Coselle did not react to the news very well. She asserted that Neville was a sadist and a torturer, suggested that Neville had been trying to seduce her, all the while slipping back into her stutter as her rage built, and at the moment, Keith couldn't blame her.

"It is not like that!" Myrtle exclaimed, tears in her eyes. "Do not call him use-less scum! Is it so hard to be-lieve that he could have changed?!"

"Yes," Keith answered automatically.

"Shut up, Meat Sack," growled Myrtle. "I was not as-king you! Co-selle, I know you think he is a sa-dist. We al-so thought he was a ma-so-chist, right? When I used Curse on him, he did not en-joy the pain at all... And he at-tacked me in re-tal-i-a-tion... I could taste his thirst for ven-geance... It... It was beau-ti-ful," Myrtle said quietly. "He has fee-lings, just like us... I mis-judged him. We all did. So what if he is a lit-tle ec-cen-tric-"

"A little eccentric?" Keith repeated incredulously. "He rigged the entire Bar with Stealth Rock and blasted Overheat attacks in every direction, right after he revealed how he deceived everyone into thinking he had changed!"

"My mem-o-ry is as per-fect as e-ver," snapped Myrtle. "Do you real-ly think that af-ter what had pre-vi-ous-ly hap-pened, I would not be more than a lit-tle sus-pi-cious at first? Co-selle, re-mem-ber when you told me that I would on-ly feel joy when us-ing Curse on some-one who tru-ly de-served the suf-fer-ing? I thought I would feel joy, but no... I felt ter-ri-ble. It sur-prised me at first, but I rea-lized that Ne-ville is not as bad as we have been ma-king him out to be."

"I can't believe what I'm hearing," Keith stated. "Myrtle... Neville is an extremely good actor, you know that, right?"

"Not that good," replied Myrtle. "He... Why can't you just ac-cept this?" she asked pleadingly.

"You said he attacked you in retaliation, and you could tell he wanted revenge," Keith stated. "What if this is his revenge? Stringing you along?"

"It is not," Myrtle asserted firmly. "I would be a-ble to taste it if that was his mo-tive. Meat Sack... What a-bout you and Co-selle? Af-ter the in-ci-dent on Hal-lo-ween, did you ho-nest-ly e-ver think that you two would end up to-geth-er? Could a-ny-one have pre-dic-ted that?"

Keith blinked. He honestly hadn't thought of that, and Myrtle made a fair point. "Yeah, but still," he said. "Myrtle... you do realize I care about you, right? You realize I don't want to see you get hurt?"

"I know," nodded Myrtle. "But... can't you just trust me on this?"

Keith sighed. "Look, Myrtle, if this is really what you want, I'll support you, but... is this really what you want? I mean, is this really what you want?"

"Yes," Myrtle replied with no hesitation whatsoever. "I love Ne-ville. Please... I know you gave him ma-ny chan-ces in the past, but all I ask is you both give him one more..."

Keith sighed again. "For the record, I'm against this," he stated. "Allowing this to happen goes against every instinct I got. He doesn't deserve another chance, not after all the trouble he's caused, and after everyone he's hurt. Then again... that day in the park, I was following Gadget, and Meowth was trying to stop me for similar reasons... And I have to admit, that turned out better than I ever could have imagined," he said, giving the smallest of smiles to Coselle. "Very well, Myrtle. I can't believe I'm saying this- I mean, I really, really can't believe I'm saying this, especially given what's happened in the past- but Neville gets one more chance. Just the one, and that's only because you seem to have your heart set on him- far be it from me to keep any Pokemon of mine from being happy. He blows this chance, though, and that's it."

"Thank you," sighed Myrtle in relief as she gave a genuine smile. "You can-not i-ma-gine how much this means to me, Keith." Keith smiled back, registering her rare usage of his actual name, as opposed to "Meat Sack" or some variation on it. She then turned to face Coselle, hoping that she would be willing to afford Neville the same last chance. Keith got the feeling Coselle wouldn't be quite as willing to give Neville another chance, but hoped that she would if it was for the sake of another Shuppet's happiness.

Vanth turns to Gemini for a moment, looking him over after he explains that he helped to decorate Keith's Secret Base moments before everyone arrived. "You don't seem like the type to have an eye for interior design..." Vanth looks incredulous before a sudden personality change. "That's so cool!!"

Kuranes' fox-like tail twitches with curiosity, his eyes lighting up. Oh, yes, do let me see this defense curl of yours. The Eevee hops down from the couch to get a better look at the move. That mushroom cap of yours does look like a shield, doesn't it? Perhaps you were born to be a great defender. When you evolve, will you get more shields? You should evolve into a Pokemon entirely made of shields. It would suit you. Kuranes giggles a bit. Please, please, show me your Defense Curl!

Meanwhile, a distressed Myrtle beseeches Keith and Coselle to change their opinion about Neville, asking if it was really so hard to believe that the cruel, heartless Stunfisk had changed his ways. Of course, Keith's automatic "Yes" is rudely brushed aside by Myrtle, who would prefer to hear Coselle's side of things.

"He has done this be-fore, Myr-tle. He is a damn so-ci-o-path. He can fake his e-mo-tions, since the re-al-i-ty is that he has no real feel-ings to speak of. He is ve-ry dif-fi-cult to read. If he could de-ceive my sen-ses, what makes you think he can-not de-ceive yours?" Coselle narrows her eyes. "Just be-cause you are fal-ling for him does not mean he is fal-ling for you. E-ven if his in-tent was not ex-press-ly to hurt you... I doubt he would see you as an-y-thing more than a play-thing."

Myrtle insists to Keith that she would be able to tell if he intended on getting revenge on her. "You o-ver-es-ti-mate your pow-ers," Coselle hisses. "Your hu-bris will be your down-fall if you are not careful!"

Then, Myrtle makes a dreadful mistake... She decides to use Keith and Coselle's relationship as a comparison for her love for Neville. Coselle silently seethes, hoping that Keith would try to refute the comparison, and listens in horror as he not only allows the comparison to be made, but actually softens his hard stance against Myrtle and Neville's relationship!! He... he gives him another chance! He gives him another chance... No. No. He promised... He promised he wouldn't... Why did she believe him? Why did she fall for this nonsense?

Her head swims with a rage that rivals her intense reaction on Halloween night, though in her current form, it manifests in a sudden wave of heat that courses through her body, as if she were struck with a sudden fever from the fire within herself... Her stomach twists in knots and her teeth grit so hard she feels as if her jaw will break in half. She fights the urge to vomit. Her sight blurs as tears spring up in her eyes, stinging with salt.

Keith. The one who swore he had changed. The one who claimed he had understood... had again proved that his words meant nothing. The one who they had vowed to kill... The one that he swore he would destroy, that he would stand firm with on the day that she got her revenge... He was sending his own beloved Shuppet, who was dear to Coselle as well, to get in a romance with this heartless sociopath? Had he gone mental? Why... why was it that every time she trusted Keith, he found some way to make her regret it? No, this was it. If he loved her... no, he couldn't love her. Not if he would do something like this. Not if he would give Neville another chance. Authorities be damned. At this point, she could care less how long they put her away. All that mattered was revenge. That was all. That was everything. That was all she lived for, wasn't it? And when the deed was done, she would be blissfully returned into the arms of death with no regrets.

Coselle's voice, which had initially been rising with anger, now seemed oddly cold, almost dead. Turning to Keith, she simply says "That is e-nough. I am go-ing to the Bar," before making her way to the door, intent upon turning what little humanity she has left into one of the most horrible curses she could possibly lay upon another living being. Hopefully, Marion would visit her in rehabilitation. But at least she would be herself again... And maybe, with time, she could free her mind from the awful liar she had grown to like so much. For now, though, she had to get out of here and make her way to the Bar... If there was any place that she could find information and gossip about the whereabouts of a certain trainer and his Stunfisk, that would be it. Of course, with her powers effectively gone and her incredibly strong emotions likely reading loud in clear, it was a task more easily said than done...

Gemini's heads smiled modestly as Vanth made a sudden shift in personality and remarked on how cool it was that the Weezing helped out.

In response to Kuranes's enthusiasm, Six pulled his whole body in and tucked himself into a perfect sphere, demonstrating his Defense Curl.

As Keith was conceding to Myrtle that he would give Neville one more chance, he caught sight of Coselle's face, and immediately knew he had made a mistake, a huge, horrible mistake. As she coldly stated that she was going to the bar, as she made her way to the door, Keith made up his mind on the spot. He gave a sharp glare and a shake of the head to Myrtle, muttered, "We'll talk about this later," and went off after Coselle.

"Coselle... Coselle, please wait," Keith said as he caught up to her. "I... I'll talk Myrtle out of it somehow. I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't even have thought about it. The comparison Myrtle made is complete Tauros shit, and I should've said so... It just caught me off guard, I guess. Please don't go, Coselle. Please..." he said as tears started to form in his eyes. "Arceus, I'm so stupid," he muttered to himself. "Coselle, I'm so sorry. No more chances for Neville. None. He doesn't deserve another chance, no matter how much Myrtle seems to think he's changed. I'll talk her out of it, I'll stop this from ever happening... Please, Coselle... I should've remembered how much it means to you to kill that stupid slimy Stunfisk. I was stupid... Please... Please..." It took all his self-restraint to not break down crying as it struck him just how stupid he had just been, how much he had just hurt her with his stupidity. Again.

Vanth laughs a bit at the Weezing's modest grin. "You are adorable, you know that? ...For a Weezing." Despite the mid-sentence personality change, the statement is no less true. Vanth chuckles a bit, before finding herself immediately and abruptly being recalled into her Pokeball by Marion. The ghostly trainer gives Gemini an apologetic glare, bowing her head.

"I'm sorry... bit of a crisis right now," she says with an anxious look in her eyes, as she goes around the room recalling her various ghost-type Pokemon. Bedivere, without being asked, taps his Pokeball and immediately retreats inside, waving goodbye to Myrtle from a distance. Cheshire also gets recalled, along with Murmur, who also seems to understand the gravity of the situation unfolding with Keith and Coselle. Marion looks around, flustered as she calls out for Liliana.

"Lil... Lil? Ugh, well, I guess she'll be fine with Peeves," Marion mutters as she makes her way over to Kuranes.

Meanwhile, Kuranes stands up on hind legs to applaud Six with his paws, a brilliant smile across his face. You are a natural, Six! If you keep on training, nothing will ever hurt you. You may speak to whomever you wish with no fear. Your cap is your shield! Defend yourself bravely!

Before Kuranes can say any more to the shy Foongus, he finds himself being scooped up by his trainer, snugly wrapped in her arms. "Sorry to interrupt you guys..." Kuranes immediately notes the distress in his trainer's eyes, and cuddles up close against her body, providing what warmth and comfort he can.

The dream is ours to do with what we wish, he whispers, so why does your heart sound so heavy? The language barrier between trainer and Pokemon is such that all Marion can understand is that he is trying to comfort her somehow. She smiles a bit, though her eyes are still filled with concern.

Coselle fell for Keith's pleas to wait before. She had let him stop her, in the Rose Garden, and confess... Let him get emotional, let him spill his guts... Let him take hold inside her mind, let him make those thoughts she knew she should have never indulged in seem so beautiful, so desirable, so real.... She had given him the chance to explain herself, and where did it get her?

Not again.

She climbs down the ladder, numb to everything around her. Everything hurt so badly that she had gone beyond feeling. Her body simply could not take the pain, and shut down, letting the anger act as the most brutal soothing agent imaginable. Marion rushes after her sister, calling out to her; "STOP IT! You're not thinking straight! Cosie... Cos- MINERVA! COME BACK, MIN- Minerva..."

Marion pauses for a moment, turning to Keith with a pained expression. "I'm going to go follow her. She... she gets like this, sometimes. I'll cut her off at the Bar." After a quick transfer using her Xtranceiver, Marion switches Murmur's Pokeball for Sangre's, and after leaving Keith's base, immediately calls out the batlike Pokemon, who notices Marion's expression and begins to look somewhat concerned himself. "To the bar," Marion orders, and Sangre obeys, allowing Marion to mount him with her precious shiny Eevee before flying off to their intended destination.

((EXIT - COSELLE))

Keith's heart sank as his pleas for Coselle to stop and listen went unheeded. Marion swiftly withdrew all her Pokemon (except for Liliana) and headed off to the bar, intent on stopping Coselle. As she left, Keith let himself fall to the floor, stunned, every bit of him wanting so much to believe that what just happened didn't happen. And yet, there was no denying it, he had driven Coselle off through his own Arceusdamn stupidity. The tears stung his eyes as he climbed back to his feet and made his way back into the living room.

"Meat Sack-" began Myrtle as she floated over to him.

"Don't. Even," Keith interrupted, his voice harsh as he held back his tears. "Myrtle... No. You and Neville... It's not happening. I forbid it."

"Wh-what?!" exclaimed Myrtle. "But you said-"

"I WAS WRONG, OK?!" Keith bellowed. "I shouldn't have listened to you! Coselle is right, Neville is nothing but bad news! Arceus damn it, it's like Halloween all over again!"

"But-" Myrtle said.

"No," Keith interrupted. "Myrtle, just... no. Just... Get back in your Poke Ball for now," he sighed as he held out the aforementioned sphere, sucking his Shuppet back in before she could protest any further. Without further ado, Keith slumped down on the nearest chair and covered his face with his hands as Chuck appeared next to him, forming some of his gas into a hand and patting Keith on the back with it. Keith had really screwed up this time, and he dearly hoped things would work out for the best. There seemed to be nothing he could do for now, except to just wait for the moment when Marion and Coselle would hopefully return to his Secret Base.

And then he realized, he couldn't just sit there. He had to take action. He had to go after Coselle himself. Wordlessly, he leapt out of the chair, dashed out the front door, and in an instant, was riding Hedwig, his own Crobat, off in the direction of the Fizzytopia Bar.

Startled though she had been by Keith's sudden exit, Ginny continued to stand guard at the door, casting sharp glares at anything that made sudden movements. Then, after a little while, she spotted Keith walking up the path, Coselle by his side, and Myrtle behind them both. Happy though the Pawniard was to see her trainer again, she remained wary, aware that they could easily be Zorua, Zoroark, or even Ditto. As they approached the ladder, Ginny exclaimed, "Halt! Who goes there?" while brandishing her right blade like a sword.

Keith rolled his eyes, but smiled. "It's us, Ginny."

"So it would seem," the Pawniard replied suspiciously. "But I need to be certain!"

"She needs to be cer-tain," Myrtle translated for Keith.

"Ah," nodded Keith. He took out his Pokedex and pointed it at himself, Myrtle, and Coselle in turn, and the Pawniard nodded as the device rattled off the entries for Gastly, Shuppet, and Banette, respectively. She stood aside and saluted, allowing them to pass. Myrtle floated up and phased through the door, while Keith stood aside to allow Coselle up the ladder first. "After you," he said.

Coselle walks with Keith up to his Secret Base, hand in hand, looking decidedly less irate than when she had left. Of course, the paranoid Pawniard that Keith recently obtained was not one to slack in her sentry duties for even a moment, and the Pokemon demands proof of the trio's identities before letting them through, lest a newly hatched Ditto or Zorua try and sneak their way into Keith's base to cause some trouble.

Coselle listens for the umpteeth time as the Banette Pokedex entry drones forth from Keith's Pokedex. How many times had she been traveling with Marion when some stupid trainer had to wave that device in her face? Long ago, she used to enjoy droning along with the Pokedex, reading off her entry with a creepy hint of malice, to accentuate the somewhat disturbing entry... Now, it was nothing more than a harsh reminder of what she truly was.

The last sentence of that entry never sat well with Coselle. Yes, she evolved by stealing one of Marion's plush dolls (which she had not really intended to throw away, though Minerva had thought it was high time), but to be referred to as a "pitiful plush doll..." It reminded her of when she found out that police had found her former human body decaying in a garbage bag. Thrown away, indeed.

Fortunately, the morbid entry is enough for the Pawniard to let them through, and Keith decides to let Coselle climb up the ladder first, in a gentlemanly gesture. "You just want to take a look up my skirt, you jerk" she teases, play-punching him in the shoulder. Despite her sarcastic protests, however, she climbs the ladder anyhow, leading the way up to Keith's treetop base.

Keith could sense that Coselle wasn't exactly thrilled with having to hear Banette's Pokedex entry, and shrugged apologetically as the Pokedex droned the description. "Yeah, sorry," Keith muttered as he put his Pokedex away. "It's the quickest and easiest way for Ginny to be sure, though." As Keith then offered to let Coselle up the ladder first, she responded by playfully accusing him of wanting a look up her skirt. Keith laughed as she playfully punched his shoulder, and then Coselle led the way up the ladder anyway. Keith followed her, and whether he resisted the urge to peek is something the world will never know.

As they reached the top, Ginny pushed the door open to allow them inside. Almost immediately, Keith could see Meowth dashing down the narrow hallway to meet them at the door. "Hey, Keith! Coselle!" he exclaimed as he jumped onto his trainer's shoulder. "So wat's up? Are youse two good now or-"

"Yes, Meowth," Keith said, cutting off the rest of the question. "I hope everything went smoothly while I was gone?"

"Oh, yeah, yeah, no problems," nodded Meowth. "Not unless youse wanted any o' dat steak, anyways."

"Oh, man, what happened?" groaned Keith. "You didn't open Crabbe's Poke Ball, did you?"

"Hey, gimme some credit," snapped Meowth. "I ain't stupid. It was dat blasted Basculin of yers."

"Of course," sighed Keith. "That's the next thing I'm gonna invest in- a lid for that tank," he said to Coselle. "Pisces has a bad habit of jumping out of the fish tank and using her fins to crawl around. She'll usually eat anything edible that gets in her path, too. She's not that adept at moving outside of water, though, so she's still not as bad as Crabbe."

Just then, a sudden outburst could be heard from within the base. "Did he say a lid for the fish tank?! I can do that! I can help with that I can make a lid for the fish tank and help out because I'm good like that-" This went on and on. Keith led the way into the Secret Base's living room, and immediately, he spotted an overexcited Makuhita piecing together a flat rectangular... thing... by haphazardly driving nails into planks of wood with her fists. Once she had finished, she proudly held up the finished product and rushed over to the fish tank, and placed it on top.

"And that's Helga, my Makuhita," Keith said. "Helga, come on, now, I keep telling you, you don't need to do all this stuff around here." Just then, Pisces, who was thoroughly unimpressed by the shoddily constructed tank lid, blasted it into little pieces with a single use of Superpower. Helga sadly looked on at the sad, splintery remains of her workmanship.

"Oh," she sighed. "I'm sorry..." she said to Keith, hanging her head.

"Helga, that's OK," Keith said as he patted the Makuhita on her head. "Why don't you go and play with Chuck?"

"Already tried that," came a voice from directly behind Keith. "Tried to teach her chess, but it doesn't seem to be her game."

"Hey! You try moving just one of those little tiny pieces with hands like these!" Helga exclaimed, waving around one of her hands, which was in a perpetual fist. The Gastly behind Keith merely chuckled at this.

Just then, Gemini came floating over, both heads looking happy to see that their trainer has returned. Then, they glanced at the Poke Balls Coselle had with her. "Hey, uh," the smaller head said, "Coselle... any chance any of those Poke Balls... contains a Spiritomb by the name of, oh, say... Vanth? We were... kinda talking to her, you see."

"So, Coselle," Keith said, "What do you want to do? You still haven't met my Foongus. Then again," he added, a sly grin creeping up his face, "I seem to recall you telling me that you would, what was it, tear me apart, once Marion had left... And I don't believe she's here at the moment. Whichever you want. It's your call," he said.

Coselle shrugs back at Keith, trying to play it off as nothing. After all, the Pokedex was simply identifying her honestly, and at least it was better than getting tickled or scratched, as Ginny was rumored to do in the past for security checks. Keith takes Coselle's playful banter in stride, though whether or not he actually gives in to the temptation... well, only Arceus knows.

Meowth immediately takes his position at his trainer's shoulder, reporting that all is well on the home front... except for the missing steaks. Keith explains to Coselle that Pisces had a bad habit of escaping her tank, maneuvering as best as she could with her fins on land, devouring anything edible she can get her jaws around. Coselle cackles a bit. "I admire her spirit," she says with a wide grin. "Quite the determined hunter, hmmmm?"

Soon, the voice of a female Pokemon interrupts the conversation, expressing such an intense burst of eagerness to help with finding a lid for the fish tank that Coselle wonders if Gadget may have found a potential partner. The voice makes itself known quickly with hammering and all manner of noise, and Coselle manages to catch sight of the Makuhita who presumably was the origin of the voice. Keith introduces the Pokemon as Helga, and tries reassuring her that she does not need to constantly help around the Base... Even so, the determined fighting-type proudly displays her handiwork before placing it firmly on the top of the tank. Unfortunately, the wooden lid is no match for the Basculin's Superpower, and the poor, dejected Makuhita hangs her head in shame. Keith suggests she go play chess with Chuck, but apparently, having perpetual boxing gloves makes it difficult to move the pieces around. Kuranes mews something to Coselle, and she lets the Eevee down gently. He scampers toward Helga, a concerned expression on his face.

Is it so bad that the lid didn't work the first time? One can always try again... Now you know to use stronger materials and methods to affix the lid to the tank! Perhaps I can ask Six if he knows anything about sealing a tank. Between the three of us, I am certain we can devise a better lid. What do you say?

Coselle notices Gemini floating over, requesting the presence of the one called Vanth. "Which Vanth do you wish to speak to, if I may ask?" Coselle chuckles darkly. "Or do you happen to like all of them? Eh, I suppose it doesn't matter... Knock yourself out, lover boy." The dark-haired trainer unhooks the Christmas Ball on her belt, unleashing the Spiritomb from within before turning her attention back to Keith.

Vanth blinks a bit, looking confused. "Where am I...?"

Meanwhile, Keith reminds Coselle that she has not made the acquaintance of Six yet. Of course... Keith remembered keenly what Coselle had claimed she would do to him after Marion had left, and pointed out with a sly grin that she happened to be absent at the moment. Coselle returns the smirk with a dark laugh, gently sliding her hands up his chest.

"Mmm, yes... I should. I am still mad at you, you know." Coselle's voice takes on a sinister tint, dropping in pitch. "Perhaps I should punish you... but how? Merciless teasing, perhaps? Driving you mad with longing? Or perhaps I should go the more direct route...." Coselle digs her nails hard into Keith's shoulders and cackles. "You will suffer, yes. I just need to decide how... and when." Coselle's voice returns to its normal tone, as she saunters off to go find Six. "Where is that little Foongus, anyhow?"

"Oh, yes," Keith nodded as Coselle stated that she admired Pisces's spirit and called her quite the determined hunter. "When I first got her, she tried to eat Marvolo. I don't know what happened, but now the two are actually pretty decent friends."

Kuranes approached Helga, and assured her that she could always give it another try, asking if it was so bad that it didn't work the first time. "Well," Helga explained, "I suppose it's not that bad, it's just... I don't wanna screw this up. Keith's the third trainer I've had now, I've been traded around quite a bit, and I don't think I can take another trainer trying to get rid of me. I just want to prove to him that I can be useful to his team, that trading for me was the right thing for him to do! He always assures me that this isn't necessary, but still... Still I worry sometimes..." Kuranes suggested that the two of them team up with Six to try and devise a better lid for the tank. "That sounds like a good idea," smiled Helga. "Just gotta find that little Foongus... Oh, by the way, I'm Helga, what's your name?"

In response to the Weezing's question, Coselle sent out the Spiritomb, but not before referring to Gemini as "lover boy". Both heads blushed at this and stammered their protest (though not with much conviction) until Vanth had been sent out. The Spiritomb blinked in confusion before asking where she was.

"Hi, Vanth," said Gemini's larger head. "You're back in Keith's Secret Base."

As Keith reminded Coselle of what she said she would do to him, she laughed darkly, and replied to him, her voice taking on a more sinister tone as she suggested she should punish him, be it by driving him mad with longing, or a more direct route. Though she told Keith she was still mad at him, Keith had a shrewd feeling this wasn't the exact truth. Her tone was sinister, but this was not entirely unusual for her, as he had learned. Indeed, he found himself filled yet again with that odd blend of nervousness and excitement. Coselle's voice then returned to its normal tone as she went off in search of Keith's Foongus. Keith started searching as well. First place he looked was under the table- a favorite hiding spot of the little Foongus. Sure enough, he spotted what looked like a Poke Ball under there. "Come on out here, Six," Keith said gently. The ball rolled forward of its own volition, and once it was out from under the table, the Foongus disengaged his Defense Curl, and looked up timidly at Keith, who gently scooped the Grass/Poison-type into his arms. "Found him," he said to Coselle as he walked over to her. "Coselle, meet Six. Six, this is Coselle. Say hi to her, OK?"

"Uh... Um... Uh... Hi," Six squeaked shyly.

Coselle chuckles a bit at what Keith tells her about Pisces and Marvolo. "Oh, reallyyy? Marvolo does not strike me as a forgiving type... Then again, I suppose he far more easily ignores transgressions against himself than that snake he's constantly entwined around... Amy, is it?" Coselle chuckles darkly to herself, as if laughing at a joke within her own head. It was no secret how she felt about that couple, particularly when she was still openly in her Banette form. Amethyst in particular grated at her nerves.... but at least the pair wasn't around for the moment. Besides, she would not want to hurt Keith by seriously insulting one of his prized Pokemon... Though if Marvolo decided gave her sass, she had no qualms with returning it in spades, whether or not Keith knew about it. She would not be disrespected by anyone.

Meanwhile, Kuranes pauses for a moment, thinking about what Helga had said. He tilts his head and furrows his fuzzy brow in deep concentration. Is it that you do not trust Keith? Has he given you reason to disbelieve him? Kuranes seems distracted by the thought. If he says he would not trade you, wouldn't he mean that? Helga seems to appreciate the suggestion to build a new tank with Six and Kuranes, suggesting that they find the little Foongus... but not before introducing herself. The young Eevee bows in response to her introduction, his ears flopping with the bow. I am Kuranes, but everyone calls me K. Nice to meet you, Helga! K smiles genuinely at Helga, happy to have made another new friend. Let's go find Six.

Coselle smirks at Weezing's attempts at objecting to her description of him, but lets his inability to counter serve as her point. As Vanth materializes, Gemini reorients her, reminding her that she is in Keith's Secret Base. "Oh." Vanth pauses for a moment. "Are you Keith? You don't look like a Keith. You look more like... like a Reginald, or a Peter, or a ReginaldPeter. You know, one name for each head."

As Coselle runs off to search for Six, Keith uses his knowledge of the little Pokemon's favorite hiding place to locate him quickly, and sure enough, what appeared to be a stray Pokeball under the table slowly rolled towards Keith of its own volition, popping out of defense curl into the form of the adorable mushroom. Coselle bows to Six in greeting, noting that this creature appeared particularly timid.

"A shy one, hmmmm? Well, it is nice to meet you, Six. You are the one under the care of Lily and James?" Before Six can respond, Coselle is distracted by the feeling of something fuzzy rubbing up against her legs. Bending down to pick up the purring shiny Eevee that had made his way to her, she gives him an adoring hug and a kiss on the top of the head, appearing oddly warm and affectionate given her usual apathetic, vaguely amused exterior. "Hey there, K? How's my baby~" She snuggles up with the Eevee, who barks something to her, a smile on his face.

"Oh, you wanted to see if Six would play with you and your new friend Helga?" Coselle turns to Keith, realizing that she had been acting like an adoring, crazy Eevee lady in front of him, and immediately straightens up, gently setting Kuranes down. "Er, yeah... K wants to know if Six would like to play." Coselle narrows her eyes at Keith, silently communicating that he better not make fun of her for turning into an overly gushy blob of saccharine sweetness whenever Kuranes was around.
