Fight Club - Strawberry Girls
Really digging Strawberry Girls lately, they're a trio rock instrumental band that I highly recommend for anyone interested in their genre.

I Won't Walk Away From You- Sinai
Sinai is a semi-active, not very well known band. I first heard of them because I personally know the drummer, they've been around since... Summer 2011? They have an album out that's really cool too. Of course this song doesn't feature drums at all, but it's the most recent thing they've put out and I love it to death.

James Blake- I Never Learnt to Share
Holy fuck this song. I only heard about James Blake from a friend like less than two months ago and I cannot get enough.

And I will settle in Pamplona,
And I'll provoke the bulls with words, And then I'll send a man to meet them all. The blood is fake, so I have heard. The Tallest Man on Earth - King of Spain

EDIT: I should probably elaborate, his voice is very interesting, has a unique quality to it for sure. I can't get enough of it, haha.

I've heard comparisons to Bob Dylan, and while I can definitely hear the similarity in the voice and in the quality of his lyrics, he definitely has a style that's all his own at the same time.

Yeah the Gardener's really weird to me, never thought I could enjoy a happy-sounding song about a murderer but hey. Another one that's probably right up there for me is "Love Is All". Man when he starts to scream out the lyrics near the end I just get chills everytime.

I think what I like about his voice is how incredibly emotive it is, and the fact that he can express so many different emotions, even within the same song, and have it flow together so perfectly and authentically.

Many of you have probably already seen Mumford and Sons new video Hopeless Wanderer as it's getting a lot of recognition, but for those who haven't go check it out. It's excellent, particularly if you're familiar with the usual style of Mumford and Sons videos.
Another good'un I've been listening to lately; How Deep Is Your Love - The Rapture. Unrelated to the BeeGees song of the same name.

I think that's why I find The Fame vastly superior to Born This Way, because at the end of the day it was just full of good pop songs. They weren't too try hard or too clever. I found Born This Way, other than a few key moments, a bit of a chore to listen through. Maybe I just didn't 'get it'. Although The Fame Monster was where she really shined, Bad Romance and Dance In The Dark are definitely two of her complete best. So I'm glad she's restrained herself a bit for this and just released a straight up catchy pop song, its kind of making me excited for ARTPOP. |

Agreed Stu, 100%. I personally did like the song Born This Way, but none of the other stuff even remotely appealed to me after that. Usually when it comes to Lady Gaga music, I dislike it the first time and later love it.
Lady Gaga excelled with songs like Poker Face, Just Dance, Alejandro, Telephone (one of my favorites), Bad Romance, and Paparazzi. This new song is easily my favorite yet. edit: The more I listen to this song the more warm and fuzzy it makes me feel for some reason (^ ω ^) (I think it's because it's so upbeat and positive) Last edited by deoxys; 08-13-2013 at 02:56 PM. |

"Blurred Lines" - Vampire Weekend
One of my favorite covers ever I think, I can't stop dancing to this. The original by Robin Thicke is all right, but not great (part of it is that Thicke is a gigantic douche). This cover though, I've been listening to on repeat for a long time the last few days. Vampire Weekend is a great band, love 'em.

Been listening to one of the best albums I've ever heard. Up there with Nujabes - Modal Soul and The Glitch Mob - Drink the Sea. Would recommend listening to the whole thing no matter what kind of music you're into, there's something here for everyone.

Nine Inch Nails fans are currently throwing a temper tantrum because Trent Reznor released a new song from the band the other day that it *GASP* happy and upbeat. THE NERVE! How DARE he make a happy song because he's finally happy and has a family after all the shit he went through!
Here's the song (the video is just for hilarious shenanigans) |

phoopes's thread reminded me about this song; i'm not sure if stern or sarasate arranged the top line for violin (the latter, probably), but it's really quite nice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehQMe57TPPM some nice ravel. i've been itching to play it for a while. |

Kiara is my absolute favorite song off the album, and I think I may be addicted to it. El Toro was nice, too. The album is definitely nice and mellow, which is great for when I'm yelling at code to work. XD

Bonobo - Animal Magic This ones a little darker than Black Sands, but its still amazing. Terrapin & Shadowtricks are the best on the album in my opinion. |
