Ravaged Peak (Outdoor Custom Arena): Reaching high into the skies, the Ravaged Peak is situated high up the cloud line. The top of the spire, around which the battles take place, has been flattened with age, the structure having been eroded down to being little more than a flattened plateau of sand. This means that attacks such as Stealth Rock will ultimately fail. All Pokemon unable to fly or levitate will be sent out onto this plateau. Due to the altitude of the battle, there are numerous intertwining air currents, which will actively improve the mobility of Flying type Pokemon able to take advantage of these while also increasing their enthusiasm to battle. The weather itself is hot (85-90 F), sunny and very dry. Naturally, Ice Typed and Water Typed Pokemon will feel uncomfortable under these setting. The water vapor in the air from the surrounding clouds will leave Electric attacks dispersing at larger distances, while Ice and Water moves will be reduced in power by 10% courtesy of their energy being drawn out by the heady moisture. Any uses of Rain Dance or Hail will lower the temperature slightly but will not cause rain or hail in this setting. The air is slightly ionized with special properties, making Electric typed very uncomfortable unless they are part flying themselves.
Aposteriori looks to try and make a name for himself and a decent user of Flying types, so that'll be interesting! Of course, this all relies on Cele being here until the finish! Ha! We've also got this windy peak something arena with little land and a whole lot of sky, so there's sure to be a lot of 3D maneuvering which is always fun.
Ion: What's up with the air? It make me feel all weird inside.
Also the air is ionized which ironically makes Ion feels uncomfortable, so hopefully no snarky comments from him either!
Ion: Loopholes exist for a reason!
Dang it. Squad up DT!

It is ionized with magic. Good luck to Celebii. Thank you rotomotorz for picking this up.

Items

Miracle Seed (3 SP) - This Token increases the power of Grass type moves by 10%. It causes the move Fling to deal Grass type damage if it is thrown.
Attached to: Poison Ivy the Tropius

Sharp Beak (3 SP) - This Token increases the power of Flying type moves by 10%. It causes the move Fling to deal Flying type damage if it is thrown.
Attached to: Pterano the Aerodactyl

Nightstalker’s Token (10 SP) - The Nightstalker’s Token can be attached to Dark-type Pokémon only and greatly enhances their natural abilities. The wearer’s ability to trick the opponent is greatly increased, as is their ability to scare opposing Pokémon, regardless of intelligence or stature. In addition, the wearer’s curses are more difficult to remove and have more potent effects than they would usually. The wearer can use attacks like Sucker Punch up to twice on the same target, instead of the usual one use limit. This item causes the move Fling to deal Dark type damage if it is thrown. This token may be purchased during the week long Halloween 2014 event and may be purchased up to one time per trainer.
Attached to: Nightwing the Honchkrow

Reaper's Token (10 SP) - This attachable item can only be given to Ghost type Pokémon. If the Pokémon wearing this token has the ability to change in to the Invisible state, they are able to do so for three turns instead of the usual two and enjoy perfect invisibility where they might usually have left an icy glimmer or some other give away. If the selected Pokémon does not already possess the ability to change in to the Invisible state, they gain the ability to do so for two turns, leaving a slight give away when they do so such as the glint of an eye or the glow of an ectoplasmic body. Ghosts wearing this token are also granted an increased ability to trick their opponents. This item causes the move Fling to deal Ghost type damage if it is thrown. This token is available only during the Halloween 2013 sale and may be purchased by trainers up to once.
Attached to: Gypsy the Drifblim

Level 4

Power Girl: Female Togekiss
Hidden Power: Ground

Level 3

Poison Ivy: Female Tropius @
Biography: After several generations of experimenting with vegetation and tress, Poison Ivy reached a proper medium. She is hardier as well as thicker and more heat resistance. From extrapolating different genes from different Pokemon, Poison Ivy revolutionize the survivability for her species. Examples were the introduction of afa3 gene, which allowed better sustainability during harsh cold temperatures. Soon after, the Osmyb4 gene introduced stabilized protection against freezing while protecting it against drought. Poison Ivy forever changed how Transgenic Pokemon were viewed and was able to manipulate and levy some of the harm it would otherwise endure in its natural habitat.
Special Resistance: Thick Cellulose [GR]
Poison Ivy gains a thick layer of cellulose on his outer membrane skin. Due to this she takes half the damage it would otherwise endure from Ice and Fire type attacks. She is no longer resistant to Fighting moves and she is 2x resistant to grass moves as opposed to 4x. Excessive sunlight no longer heals energy.
Hidden Power: Ice
Item: Miracle Seed

Pterano: Male Aerodactyl @
Biography: Pterano felt regret for the years of torment he offered Petrie and friends. After a terrible natural disaster, most of his cohorts were wiped out. Fighting for survival, Pterano scavenged the lands for food and resources. With no avail, the land became desolated and provided little resources. Some of his families began to die out as a consequence. One of the affected was his beloved Petrie. Although he did not carry the most loving relationship at first, he soon found it in his heart to accept Petrie as one of his favorites. Pterano soon saw resentment toward the world once again once his beacon of light was taken away. Pterano ravished the rest of the land, and externalized his anger by destroying anything in his path. He found solace with destruction, and saw Petrie’s death as a blessing, because it opened his eyes to how cruel the world can be.
Special Attack: Petrie’s Blessing [FL]
Pterano’s wind based attack deal 1.2x in damage. He learned how to use Hurricane. Pterano no longer benefits from his SC’s biting boost.
Hidden Power: Fighting
Item: Sharp Beak

Scorpion: Male Gliscor
Biography: With the the polar ice caps melting away from the nearby mountains of Windswept Sky, cold weather has become rampant creating a severe regional climate change. Scorpion originating from this region has adapted to better survive the frigid conditions of the area. For some unknown reason, a group of Ariados living in a nearby cave started to overrun the area as well. The Ariados’ bug type attacks began to heavily affect Scorpion, making him resent the bug type and feel extra pain in the process.
Special Resistance: Glazed [IC]
Scorpion is now 2x weak to ice while no longer being resistant to bug.
Hidden Power: Ground

Nightwing: Male Honchrow @
Biography: Seeking leverage over his victims, Nightwing engages his opponent with various taunts throughout the battle. His reputation has become infamous, carrying on his prankster reputation from his days as Robin. He met his match when facing a mega Banette in battle, who seemed to be the only one up to par to his trickster techniques.
Special Training: Prankster [Various]
Any non-offensive move executed by Nightwing will appear to happen instantaneously, leaving little time for the foe to react or counter, enjoying the same exact SC characteristic of Banette’s mega form. All non-offensive moves require an additional 20% energy to execute.
Hidden Power: Ground
Item: Nightstalker's Token

Gypsy: Female Drifblim @
Biography: Playing off on the idea that the Drifloon line sometimes make children disappear,Gypsy made parents go through a living nightmare; She would momentarily place a curse on the parents that would make them believe their child had gone missing for a while. Some parents were driven to insanity with the thought of losing their children. Once the curse would wear off, the parents would realize that their homes were ransacked and all of their valuables were gone. Their only solace was to find their actual child sleeping comfortably away.
Special Attack: Living Nightmare [GH]
Gypsy can place a Living Nightmare curse on an opponent even if they are awake, sapping away good amount of energy each round. The curse fades away after three rounds. The final round of the curse is the only one that compounds with the pokemon’s state of tiredness. Diminishing effects apply after a new living nightmare curse is placed. It is only curable by the effects of Refresh.
Hidden Power: Rock
Item: Reaper's Token

Lee: Level 4 Male Eelektross
Eelektross (Electric): Eelektross levitate by default. Moving by electro magnetic propulsion, they are not as fast as other levitating Pokémon, but are much more agile. They are also fairly good swimmers and are able to stay underwater as long as any Water-type. Unlike their preevolutions, they are able to ground themselves for a short time and stand on their modified fins.
Electric-types, in general, prefer areas where their electric attacks are most accurate. Thus, while hot temperatures don’t bother them, the fact that heat refracts electricity doesn't appeal to them. They are resistant to paralysis inflicted by Electric-type moves, though they may be paralysed as normal by other methods. Electric types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water.
Hidden Power: Ice
Sigless

Zephyr: Level 3 Male Gliscor
Gliscor (Ground/Flying): Gliscor are not true fliers. Instead, they glide. If needed to, however, they are able to fly for short distances, and their claws allow them to grab and climb relatively smooth surfaces. Upon evolving, their claws became much stronger and attacks that use them are 1.2x stronger then normal. They are also able to use a form of echolocation, allowing them to see through illusions, reveal hidden Pokémon and have a better sense of their surroundings in low-visibility situations. Gliscor can see in the dark and fight more enthusiastically at night. They remain immune to Electric moves when in flight, though are affected as normal in wet conditions.
Ground-type Pokémon are considered to be immune to electricity while standing on the ground. If a Ground Pokémon is in the air, they take 0.75x the usual damage from Electric-type attacks. If a Ground-type is wet, electric attacks affect it normally (unless the Pokémon is naturally wet/slimy, like Quagsire). Ground types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water. Ground-type Pokémon are more adept at manipulating outdoor and 'natural' environments than other Pokémon and will spend less energy using Dig, Earthquake etc. They typically have slightly more Rock energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.
Flying-type Pokémon are faster and more agile in their chosen mode of transportation than other Pokémon. Because of their skill in controlling their movement, they are more difficult to evade when using physical moves and more likely to succeed in dodging attacks. Flying type Pokémon are affected normally by the damaging effects of Ground-typed energy and take neutral damage from Ground type moves in the ASB. They fight more enthusiastically in spacious arenas but are not put off by cramped conditions.
Hidden Power: Ground
Sigless

Sapphire: Level 3 Female Dragonair
Dragonair (Dragon): Dragonair can levitate and have a higher flight ceiling than most Pokémon. They are more agile than they are fast. They can also move in the same way as Dratini and are excellent swimmers. Sunny Day or Rain Dance will last one round longer than normal if used by a Dragonair. They have decent vision in low light environments.
Dragon-types tend to be strong swimmers and fliers, though they are not always as agile as other Pokémon. They fight more enthusiastically in warm climates but are less enthusiastic in colder ones. They are resistant to being burned. They have slightly more Fire energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.
Bio: She was found in the region of Hoenn, in Mossdeep city. I was surprised to find a Dratini there shivering on the shores of Mossdeep. Rushing her to a Pokemon Center, I waited outside, worrying about that poor Dratini. The Nurse informed me that she was making a steady recovery. After that was all over, the Dratini told me about its story, and I used Katoptris as a translator. She originally lived with her family, in Mt. Coronet, and ideal place for Pokemon as rare as Dratini to live. One day, poachers attacked her home, with the logo of a 'G' on their uniforms. They wanted Dratinis to sell, because they were rare Pokemon. Sapphire, being the bold Dratini she is, she stood up to them, and though she had no chance from the start, she put up a good fight, but in the end, she was captured. Fortunately, these were stupid poachers, and were quickly captured by the local authorities on their escaping. Thinking that this Dratini was native to Kanto, they decided to take her back to her 'home.' On the voyage back, they were caught in a fierce storm, and they were shipwrecked. Sapphire sank to the bottom of the sea, her last sight being a serpentine shadow swimming over her. When she came to, she was surrounded by Milotic and Gyarados. They had helped her to live. She had nowhere else to go, so she politely thanked them and asked if she could live with them. They replied with nods in unison. After monhs of living with them, Sapphire became accustomed to water, being able to stay underwater for long periods of time. But once again, she let her boldness and curiosity get the best of her, accepting a dare from one of the local Remoraid, to go the surface for a day. At first it seemed fine, until another storm started up again, sending Sapphire far from her home. Passing out again, she woke up at Mossdeep City, barely alive. It was then that I found her and saved her life. As gratitude, she joined my team.
Hidden Power: Steel
Sigless

Rylai: Level 3 Female Mantine
Mantine (Water/Flying): Mantine are fish, thus they are helpless on land but elegant in the water. They can fly quite well, though they are incapable of holding position indefinitely. Whilst they can easily take off from the water, they will have trouble doing so from land. They take slightly less damge from special moves than other Water types.
Water-type Pokémon are generally able to hold their breath and/or breathe underwater. The time varies, from several rounds in the case of birds, mammals and reptiles to indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are generally good swimmers and are better at manipulating Water for moves like Surf and Whirlpool than other Pokémon. They have slightly more Ice-typed energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.
Sigless

Lars: Level 3 Male Beartic
Beartic (Ice): Beartic are surprisingly adept swimmers, able to both swim powerfully on the surface and stay underwater for a good period, though they will likely need air at least once in the course of a battle, depending on energy exhaustion. Beartic’s forelegs are extremely powerful, doing additional damage to any attack used with them. They are large and intimidating so their fear attacks are more effective. They can see in the dark.
Ice-type Pokémon are highly resistant to cold fight more enthusuastically in cold environments. However, they hate hot temperatures, and will not fight as enthusiastically. Ice-type attacks which have a secondary effect such as Icy Wind and Ice Beam are slightly more likely to have their effects triggered when used by Ice-type Pokémon, though they are often resistant to such effects themselves. Ice-types are generally sure footed and difficult to knock over. They tend to have slightly more Water energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.
Hidden Power: Flying
Sigless

Soleil: Level 3 Genderless Solrock
Solrock (Rock/Psychic): Solrock levitate by default and are considered to be inorganic. They are capable of generating vast amounts of heat by spinning, enough to vaporise moderate and weaker water attacks or dissipate fog, energy use equal to Fire Spin and the technique usable twice per battle. They are also familiar with the Fire type. They fight more enthusiastically in the day time and radiate a constant faint glow that is likened to sunlight. Pokémon in close proximity to them can use moves which require sunlight, regardless of location, as can Solrock themselves.
Rock-type Pokémon generally have hard bodies, which makes them resistant to physical hits and projectiles. They are difficult to burn or poison and prefer hot environments to cold ones. Most are so heavy that they will sink in water, so they stay away from deep-water sources if possible. They are adept at controlling rocks and will use less energy than other Pokémon when using Rock Tomb, Stealth Rock etc. to manipulate the arena. They have slightly more Ground energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.
Psychic-type Pokémon are much more proficient with telekinesis than other Pokémon. Thus, they can use Psychic to move and manipulate targets with ease. Psychic type Pokémon are resistant to flinching and have higher levels of focus and concentration than other Pokémon. They have limited ability to read minds and are thus more adept at dodging attacks than might be expected and able to mitigate the effects of accuracy reducing attacks. This telepathy does not work on Dark typed Pokémon.
Hidden Power: Rock
Sigless

Lars, I never get to use you.

Round 1 - Heating up

The two trainers standing on either side of the plateau make their first selections, each throwing a specific Pokeball on their belt. From Aposteriori comes a large, flying Pokemon with a rock solid body and a menacing appearance. It's Pterano the Aerodactyl! On the other side of the field stands a tall, white bear with a beard of blue ice. It's Lars the Beartic!

The Pokemon nod to their trainers before turning to face each other. Pterano makes the first moves as his body glows a brilliant white. The energy moves out of Pterano's body, rapidly condesning into a tight white orb which shoots out at Lars. Grunting as the super effective energy assaults his body, Lars fires a bright, cyan beam at Pterano. The beam of energy erratically moves through the air, the astounding heat of the really tall plateau somehow weakening the attack. It nonetheless carries on, striking the base of Pterano's left wing as the ancient Pokemon winces in pain. A thin layer of ice forms at the area Lars hit, although the heat helps slightly with that.

Frowning at his wing, he manages to ascend a little as he conjures a mass of winds, soon forming a powerful cyclone. With a cry, he sends it right at Lars, who cannot dodge in time as the winds envelop him, assaulting his body before gradually dying down. Lars then follows up with a second icy beam, although the heat of the altitude hinders his aim as the frosty attack strikes Pterano's underside this time, although it still out him in for a lot of pain.

Pterano is losing the health rose significantly, now a fair ways through his first half while Lars still hovers in the upper reaches. His only compensation is that he's slightly beating Lars in the energy race, although not by much. His left wing is going to have a little trouble moving for the next round or so but it should melt off in time

Come back Lars, you'll be needed later.

Zephyr, you're up. (Released airborne near the plateau).

Glide as you keep him at bay with a Hidden Power into a Stone Edge. DC Earthquake should he near you.

(If Lars is somehow forced to stay in, punish him with an Ice Beam into Frost Breath.)

Round 2 - High in the burning sky

Swiftly recalling the large bear, Celebii picks out another Pokeball from his belt. In a flash of light, a large, winged Pokemon with powerful looking claws. It's Zephyr the Gliscor! Pterano frowns as his opponent is recalled, charging up frosty energy in his jaws, although the energy is hindered a fair amount by the heat of the air high up in the clouds. Despite that, Zephyr takes a powerful hit right off the bat as he groans, the icy energy because extra effective on him. Seeking revenge for that attack, he conjures multiple brown orbs of energy, before sending them out at Pterano, who gets assaults as the short distance is made in no time at all. The energy flows in his body, dealing a lot of super effective damage and resulting in a roar of pain from the Aerodactyl. Thankfully for him, however, the impact helped break off the thin amounts of ice as the numbing cold feeling on the base of his wing and underside fades away.

Zephyr isn't quite done yet, however, and quickly summons a flurry of small, sharp stones. They fly at Pterano, smacking upon the Pokemon who was busy charging up his own attack. Grinning madly, Pterano generates a flurry of powerful cyclones which fly at the Zephyr. He attempts to glide away but the winds catch up to him easily, sending him between the cyclones as the winds batter him significantly. The winds finally die down, revealing a very damaged Gliscor and a panting Aerodactyl.

Zephyr actually took slightly more damage than Pterano this round, although the Aerodactyl's previous fight with Lars still puts him much farther back in health, already a ways past the halfway mark on health while Zephyr sits close to while Pterano was last round. Pterano is panting a fair bit now and his wings are weary, while Zephyr is a little disoriented but still otherwise fresh

Round 3 - Nah-nah-nah-boo-boo

Watching Zephyr intently, Pterano prepares to dodge anything that comes his way. Grinning, Zephyr suddenly spews out dark energies which surround Pterano in an instant, clearing his mind of any thought of defensive actions. Now at a clear advantage, Zephyr fires a flurry of familiar brown orbs at Pterano, who is too tired to keep up and it nailed by the orbs flies up and over them, taking more super effective no damage.

Pterano took the only damage here, driving him closer to critical but still not quite there yet Nobody took damage. However, he also did nothing in the round. His wings are mostly fine and he's fresh, while Zephyr is simply good for two.

You said Fly to dodge specifically. If you had said "Fly to dodge and strike" or just "Fly" it would've been different.

I though it was fly to dodge but do not hit avoids the hitting the portion.

Fly over the Stone Edge and strike. Bulldoze him out of Hidden Power. Go behind him and use Ice Fang, and do not let go. Three Mover confirmed.

Paused until further query.

Round 4 - Not what a flying bulldozer looks like

Glaring at each other violently, Pterano allows Zephyr to make the first move. Gathering more rocks around him, Zephyr fires a flurry of rocks at Pterano, which would certainly spell doom for him if he got hit by them. But he doesn't pllan on taking it. Flapping his wings powerfully, Pterano flies in arc over the rocks, before descending at an incredible speed onto Zephyr, causing the Gliscor to hiss in pain as the attack lands without a hitch.

Zephyr growls, annoyed that his previous attack failed, a begins to create even more brown orbs that we haven't seen enough of already. Thinking of a genius plan to stop this, Pterano slams his claws into the sandy plateau surface, causing it to shake pretty violently.
Ion: Apparently attacking the ground doesn't affect Pokemon up in the air. Who would've thunk it.
Thoroughly amused, Zephyr fires his barrage of brown energy, which Pterano managed to dodge a few but ultimately get hit by a majority of the attack. Ascending quickly once again, his fangs glow an icy blue as he tries to take a good bite out of Zephyr. The flying scorpion attempts to glide away, but Pterano is much faster than the tiring Zephyr and bites firmly on Zephyr's tail and refuses to let go. Zephyr screeches in pain, as even the hot temperature of being way high in the sky doesn't lessen the pain too much.

Pterano is barely hanging on, now quickly closing in on critical health. he's good for two. Zephyr's health has just past halfway himself now, and he's tiring a fair bit. His Rock energy is also getting low as well, and to top it all off Pterano is biting him on the tail and refusing to let go.

Im confused as to why Zephyr was aerial. There was no indication in any of the rounds that would say otherwise with either the orders given or movement needed to catch up to my Pokemon.

He was released airborne and since then had no reason to come down. Also would say that Hurricane might have given him a bit extra height in the air

Yeah, apologies for questioning you Roto, but your reffing suggests that Aerodactyl was able to hit Gliscor with Fly, ground himself for a Bulldoze, a sustained action and was still able get off a partial at the end of it all. Can I ask for some quick reasoning on why a Pokemon stated not to be particularly agile was able to do this?

Released airborne two rounds ago. They don't usually remain airborne.

Question 1: Shouldnt Hurricane ground him as he attempted to get away by Gliding, thus knocking him off course?

Question 2: Is his tail long enough to reach around with Aqua Tail?

I see your complaint and raise you logic!

To counter this, Hurricane as well as your arena's air currents would have kept him airborne.

The air currents shoudn't be strong enough to keep a battered pokemon aerial though. Especially by a Hurricane boosted 1.2x then boosted further by 1.1x. But the query was for our referee! Ta.

It was a very small partial and covering the distance is more speed based which Aerodactyl excels at. Zephyr was also more tired than Pterano who had a no mover last round.

>Aqua Tail

Going to go with no

>Airborne

Air currents, released airborne, and the slight Hurricane lift would keep him aloft for three rounds I would say

>Hurricane

Hurricane doesn't ground Pokemon to my knowledge. The winds aren't actively pushing him down
