Good luck, have fun, Concept~ I've included the SCs and item descriptions under each Pokemon, for convenience.

Josette - Female Grimer @ Black Sludge [HP Psychic] (3 AP)
Spoiler: show
Grimer (Poison): Grimer are made up of poisonous substances made of liquid slime. Thus, toxic or polluted chemicals heal them instead of harm them. The same is true for poison attacks. Grimer can see in the dark. They are also very flexible, and can fit through gaps that most Pokémon of their size couldn't. Their bodies absorb physical blows, and physical projectiles, making all attacks in these manners 80% effective. However, as the slime is liquidized, they take slightly more damage from electric attacks.

[Poison]: Poison-type Pokémon are immune to poisoning. Their Poison-type attacks are slightly more likely to succeed in poisoning their targets than those used by other Pokémon and the effects will be slightly more potent. They also have an additional 10% chance to poison the target when using physical attacks with their most venomous appendages e.g. a Seviper's tail, a Nidoking's horn.

Black Sludge - A pile of sludge that Poison Pokémon love. It will deal light damage to any Pokémon that holds it, unless they are poison type, in which case it will heal light energy per round.

Joshua - Male Grovyle @ White Herb [HP Psychic] (2 AP)
Spoiler: show
Grovyle (Grass): Thanks to the small hooks on their feet, Grovyle are able to scale most vertical surfaces. Grovyle cannot be intimidated easily, and are therefore more resistant to fear-inducing attacks. Their slashing attacks are 1.1x more powerful. As starter Pokémon, their Grass-type attacks are slightly more powerful when they drop below 1/3 health.

[Grass]: Grass-type Pokémon live anywhere that can support vegetation and are adept at concealing themselves in such places. They enjoy both bright sun and rain and fight more enthusiastically in the day time, though they are not put off by fighting at night. Rainstorms will heal them slightly every round the rain falls, while very bright sunlight will regenerate their energy instead. Their healing moves cost slightly less energy and their draining moves will heal them by a greater amount while suffering only half of the usual diminishing returns. They are immune to spore based techniques like Sleep Powder and are more adept at using such attacks themselves, creating denser concentrations of spores which are harder to disperse and more potent in their effects. Any attack used by Grass-types manipulating the environment is slightly more potent, and their Grass-type attacks which utilise plant foliage (such as Razor Leaf) are more efficient in natural environments.

White Herb - An herb that clears the eater of any negative effects. Using a move, the user can eat this herb to restore its dropped stats back to neutral.

Kloe - Female Dratini @ Evolution Charm [HP Fighting] (2 AP)
Spoiler: show
Dratini (Dragon): Dratini can move equally well in the water and on the ground, but they prefer water, as they cannot fly like their higher evolutions. They have decent vision in low light environments.

[Dragon]: Dragon-types tend to be strong swimmers and fliers, though they are not always as agile as other Pokémon. They fight more enthusiastically in warm climates but are less enthusiastic in colder ones. They radiate warmth from their core, and are slightly more resistant to chilling effects than other Pokémon. They are naturally very powerful Pokémon and their Dragon type attacks will have a stronger knockback than normal, but will deal no extra damage because of this.

Evolution Charm (Evioluxe) - A strange charm that has a mysterious power. It grants the holder a persistent one stage boost to attack and special attack as long as it is held. The holder must be a Pokémon that is capable of evolving further in order to receive the effects.

Schera - Female Buizel @ Starf Berry [HP Flying] (1 AP)
Spoiler: show
Buizel (Water): Buizel use their tails similar to a propeller. This allows them to control their speed in the water and make sharp turns with great ease. They can rotate their tails like helicopter blades and levitate, though they are neither fast nor agile at this. The ring around their necks can be used as a floatation device, making them hard to force underwater. It may also be inflated and used as a shield, granting a small boost to physical defense. Buizel are slightly faster than the average Water-type on land.

[Water]: Water-type Pokémon are generally able to hold their breath and/or breathe underwater. The time varies, from several rounds in the case of birds, mammals and reptiles to indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are generally good swimmers, with fish excelling the most, and are better at manipulating Water for moves like Surf and Whirlpool than other Pokémon, using less energy to do so even outside of water. Their Surf and Whirlpool attacks do not lose potency when used without a water source.

Starf Berry (Psychic, Solid) - A legendary berry, said to be abandoned at the world’s edge due to its power. When the user has less than ⅓ of their health remaining, they will eat this berry and receive a sharp boost to attack, defense, special attack, special defense or speed.

Zin - Male Machop @ Jaboca Berry [HP Bug] (1 AP)
Spoiler: show
Machop (Fighting): The weakest of the Machop line, but not weak Pokémon-wise by a long shot, Machop's punch and chop based moves deal 1.1x damage. Machop can lift twice as much for a particular attack than what is normally stated. They pay for this strength with reduced dexterity and are not as accurate when using physical attacks at speed. They can see in the dark.

[Fighting]: Fighting-type Pokémon train extensively, more than any other Pokémon type, giving them greater endurance and readiness than other Pokémon and allowing them to push themselves harder for longer. They are more accurate with their physical blows and more adept at blocking and countering physical attacks, able to do this against most physical assaults. Being physically powerful, they can lift much more than normal Pokémon, though this does not grant them an attack boost. They fight more enthusiastically in urban environments but are not adversely affected by more natural surroundings.

Jaboca Berry (Dragon, Solid) - A cluster of berries that pop on contact. If the user is hit with a super effective physical attack, the berries will burst, dealing damage equal to half the base power of the move levied against it.

Estelle - Female Sentret @ Leppa Berry [HP Rock] (1 AP)
Spoiler: show
Sentret (Normal): Sentret, when not moving, will stand on their tails if possible, which gives them a better view of their surroundings. This also reduces the damage they take from Earthquake and similar moves, as well as reducing the damage they take from electric attacks a bit (as the electricity goes through their tail to the ground). They are also excellent at digging, able to burrow faster than most Pokémon. Their hearing is more sensitive than normal at the expense of being more vulnerable to sound-based status moves and they have an excellent sense of smell which allows them to track opponents and tell the real clone in a Double Team.

[Normal]: Normal-type Pokémon are able to use support moves to greater effect than other Pokémon, with them being performed slightly quicker and being slightly more potent. Being beings of great balance, they benefit more from the positive effects of weather and other arena affecting moves, but will not suffer as badly from the negative effects. In the ASB, Normal-types take resisted damage from the damaging effects of Ghost-type energy.

Leppa Berry (Fighting, Good) - A tiny berry that is filled with energy, granting the user significant energy. The user will be compelled to eat this when falling below half energy.

Total AP: 10 (2 spare)

Zin, you're up. Open with a Power-Up Punch, followed with a Karate Chop.

I miss old Confide we should totally bring back the chance for it to interrupt the opponent.

Mud-slap his face as he approaches, then take the opportunity to Baton Pass to Gertrude.

Round One
Quark: WHO AM I? Let's go the BEECH BEECH...

Spoiler: show

Koi: We join our heroes seaside today, out here for some sun and sand on this beautiful day at the Beach Arena. Today we have a former LO and returning vet, Concept, who will be leading with Fleetwood the now-Sentret (sans horrible sig). Facing him is one of those transient members, MCXD, who has shown a Machop named Zin as his first choice. We get moving right along, wasting no time!

Koi: Zin is the first to move, racing across the sand with a fist balled up, ready to swing a Power-Up Punch at the little ferret. However, Fleetwood quickly kicks up a bit of wet sand as a Mud-Slap, filling the Machop's eye with a glob of sand. Zin takes an uncertain swing, the attack only just grazing Fleetwood. The Machop is quite distracted by the moist, gritty lump obscuring his vision, pausing for a bit to try to get it off his eyes. In the meantime, Fleetwood goes about executing his orders, Passing the Baton off to another Pokémon.

Quark: The ol' bait-n-switch, I see.

Koi: Meanwhile, Zin finishes clearing his eyes, and while they're still burning, he's able to see for the most part. But when his sight is restored, he sees that his opponent has now transmogrified (at least from his perspective) - what was a Sentret is now Gertrude the Slugma. Perplexed by this sudden development, Zin figures it's best to wait for more orders before confronting this new Pokémon.

Koi: This first round resulted in only a small bit of damage exchanged, though Zin is probably worse off. His accuracy will be a bit lowered for the next round as his eyes flush out any remaining sand and though he received a boost from the punch, it might not matter much against his new opponent.

Body Slam. If you manage to pin him with it, Defence Curl your body around him. Otherwise Flame Charge.

Round Two
Koi: With a new opponent facing him down, Zin is presented with a new, much slower challenge. Gertrude the Slugma is eager to get moving, slinking towards her foe at a somewhat surprising clip considering she is literally living lava, looking to give her foe a smothering hug. She leaps (though neither high nor far) at the Machop, but Zin is anticipating this Body Slam. Rocking between both feet with hands ready to catch, he kicks off at the last moment, swiftly dodging to the side before grappling her in a Vital Throw and slamming her into the ground. He quickly lets go, shaking his hands to cool them down - it seems he's avoided a burn this time, but he may not be so lucky in the future.

Koi: The pair stare each other down briefly once Getrude rights herself, but the little slug is on the offensive this round. She surrounds herself with a blaze of Flames and Charges Zin, who responds with a mass of boulders, which he launches at the oncoming lava pile. The Rock Slide batters Gertrude, but the slug manages to follow through. The damage she does is not much, but it does give her the benefit of a much-needed speed boost.

Koi: Getrude came out of that round much worse for the wear, but didn't end up using a ton of energy as a consequence, and has a nice speed boost. Zin got lucky with the burn, but his luck may soon run out.

Round Three
Koi: Hoping to counter the speedy slug's recent boost, Zin gets low and anticipates the oncoming slug, looking to perform a Low Sweep. As Gertrude charges in, he's surprisingly able to make his play, but it occurs as she hits him with a Body Slam - while damage is dealt and her speed is presumably lowered, it does not matter in the slightest as the Machop finds himself pinned under nearly double his weight in lava slug. The Slugma presses down - and at this point, there really is no avoiding a burn, which flares to life on his chest. Zin, understandably, freaks, struggling his way out from under Gertrude without too much further exposure, leaving him a bit shocked as Gertrude plops down. She's not done, though, as she Curses up, getting rid of any speed advantage she might have had as well as giving her a nice physical double boost. However, Zin, still in shock, half-heartedly uses Mud-Slap, but it hardly does anything, barely even obscuring her vision.

Koi: A bad round for Zin, not in terms of damage (though there was some) but in terms of the foiled plans and awful burn.

God Slugmas physical movepool is so nonexistent I'm seriously considering using Tackle.

Flame Charge again as you bemoan your lack of other options. Toss an Incinerate his way for good measure.

Round Four
Koi: Bemoaning her lack of physical options, Gertrude surrounds herself with a spiral of fire as she... slowly inches towards her foe. However, Zin is glad to accommodate, looking to get some revenge in the process with a Facade. Fueled by the discomfort of the burn, the little fighter smashes and kicks at the little slug (though getting licked by the flames from the Flame Charge in the process. After all this is over, it looks like Gertrude took a nice hit while Zin didn't take too much. However, Gertrude seems a bit more limber, in spite of the lingering effects of Curse. She's perfectly happy to just follow with a burst of Incinerating fire. Zin's berry just goes up in smoke as a consequence.

Koi: Not a huge amount of damage exchanged, really. Gertrude wouldn't mind a bit of a rest but can go without for another round without too much issue.

Losing the berry isn't a big deal. Go for Rolling Kick, followed by Round.
