EDIT: Just watched the episode. I really liked it! Not sure if it was better than the wedding, but it was a really great episode. Love the atmosphere of it.

At all. He basically sat around until the last five minutes to just fly in and say "Surprise!" and IMMEDIATELY get blown to pieces. Nightmare Moon, Discord, and Chrysalis all had lengthy roles to play in their respective episodes. I also didn't much care for the entire thing was just "be a diversion in the form of a fair while Twilight does the cool adventure part". I understand WHY she had to do it alone, but it just wasn't as interesting as it could have been. BUT THAT'S OK I'M HAPPY WITH NEW PONIES

We didn't really get to learn anything about the villain this time, which was a shame after having three pretty excellent villains in the previous multiparters.
