A long, big yawn echoed through The Altaria Ruby, resonating from the living room on the first floor. Okiku was being tired and bored out of her mind, even while playing one of her favorite games, Skies of Arcadia Legends on her GameCube. It's been a while there wasn't any action. Sure, she revisited the famous bar, and she trained her two Ponyta, Rosie and Shadowmere, after hearing the announcement of a derby, but... nothing else seemed to be moving. Even the news ran out of, well, news, to say! Things got really... dead. It was to the point Okiku wondered if she should still be worthy of being called a trainer when she was a sitting duck, stuck in a government paperwork waiting line to get visas to go adventuring again...

But things are about to shake things up a bit.

Suddenly, Okiku heard loud barks and cries at the other end of the base, more precisely in the Pokémon room. Intrigued, she paused her game and went towards the room. On the way through the corridor, a Poochyena burst open the door and ran up to her, barking frantically.

"Whoa Max, chill down!" she tried to calm her first Pokémon. "What the Hell is goin' on?"

Still excited, the dog Pokémon ran back through the door and into the room. Puzzled, she followed him. In front of Max and a few others sitting in the cushions, namely Hershel, Sasquatch and Eliwood, there was the flat TV screen turned on.

"Lord Okiku," the Ralts messaged his trainer through her mind (while she mentally sighed to herself and wondered why she kept getting Pokémon that gives her titles), "it appears a happening of importance is coming! The messenger on the 'moving wall' seemed eager for the upcoming announcement!"

Wide-eyed, Okiku looked at the TV again, and sure enough "Breaking News" was flashing across the screen.

"After almost a year of extensive research," the news host declared, "Pokémon exclusive from the Kalos region will soon be safely and completely be immigrated into Fizzytopia! This new installment means an update on the Pokédex will be upcoming tonight, and starting tomorrow, a grand event, a safari, will hosted by Trainer representatives of Kalos hand-picked by the scientific authority of the region, Professor Sycamore!"

"I... I can't believe it..."

She had heard before the rumors and some of the early studies of these new Pokémon that came from the same region as her French ancestors, but this... she didn't see that to be coming this soon. If she was holding something in her hands, she would've dropped it by then. In a sudden burst of joy, Okiku jumped as high as she could and yelled a huge "YES!" then upon landing started randomly dancing to her own tune. Most of her Pokémon were quite startled of her reaction – either they didn't know her enough yet or never saw her so openly happy before – but Max, knowing his trainer like the back of his paw, simply joined her little party of sorts by howling and also jumping. After the surprise passed, the other Pokémon joined, Hershel clapping his fins together calmly yet joyfully, Sasquatch stomping on the ground, and Eliwood waltzed towards his trainer, attracted to the happy emotions she emitted.

"Alright guys," she exclaimed after she calmed down a bit, pointing to upper floor, "All hands on deck! Set sail to that Friend Safari!"

After a big cheer, everyone went to their stations to start up the Altaria Ruby with the event as their destination.

------------------------------------------

Upon arriving on the site with her Aron, Ayla, excitedly at her side, it was everything Okiku imagined how it would be, and even more: A huge stage was set up for the Kalos representatives, the whole place was heavily decorated, and fireworks were flying left and right. As she listened to the foreign trainers, Okiku smiled as she heard their accents and slip a word or two in their language: although not that much, but it reminded her of her family. As the presentations were over and it was time to choose whom would be everyone's guide and new friend to go into the safari, the Psychic specialist thought that Manon was particularly stylish with a great taste in colors to boot, so she decided to go along with her.

"Bonjour mon ami," Manon greeted her. "Je suis trčs heureux d'avoir été choisi comme ami. Oh! Pardon! I mean, I am very happy you have chosen me to be your friend. Je suis Manon. I mean, I am Manon and I cannot wait to see you find the perfect companion in my jardin. Here is your Safari Ball.

"Oh, t'a pas besoin de t'excus... hein?" Okiku's sentence was cut short while picking up the Safari Ball, as she realized Manon's strange use of an adjective in masculine form... when she was refering to herself. "...Euhm, 'cuse-moé si c'est un peu personnel et/ou que j't'insulte, mais..." she scratched the back of her head, "tu s'rais pas... une trans, par hasard? Ou une drague? ...Ben, t'a dit que t'étais 'heureux', et pas 'heureuse', d'avoir été choisie... En té cas, on s'en aperçoie pas, pis j'dois t'avouer t'es pas mal cute comme t'es!" she awkwardly smiled and laughed, trying to change the subject. "Anyway, j'm'appelle Okiku! Contente d'ętre ta nouvelle amie! Et merci pour la Balle Safari! Bon, on va oů? J'te suis!"

Because I'm nice and Google Translate is crap (and I did use some Québécois slang), here's a translation of what Okiku said:
Spoiler: show
"Oh, you don't need to excuse yourse... eh?" Okiku's sentence was cut short while picking up the Safari Ball, as she realized Manon's strange use of an adjective in masculine form... when she was referring to herself. "...Uhm, pardon me if it's a bit personal and/or I insult you, but..." she scratched the back of her head, "Wouldn't you be... a trans, by any chance? Or a drag? ...Well, you said you were 'happy' (in masculine form), and not 'happy' (in feminine form), to have been chosen... Anyways, I didn't notice at all, and I got to admit, you're actually cute the way you are!" she awkwardly smiled and laughed, trying to change the subject. "Anyway, my name's Okiku! Happy to be your new friend! And thanks for the Safari Ball! So, where are we going? I'll be following!"

It had been a while since Jess had ventured outside her Base. She had been rather busy and thus out of touch/sorts lately, so news of the arrival of Pokémon from another region sprang upon her with such suddenness she hardly had time to prepare. Still, it gave her a reason to stop being such a shut-in and spend some quality time with her teammates, whom she regretted not devoting a lot of attention to having had much interaction with as of late.

There was one in particular whom she'd promised to show the world - to bring the reserved creature of her shell, so to speak. Today provided Jess an opportunity to finally do so. She smiled reassuringly at the little ball of fluff huddled by her feet, half-concealed within the safety of a white tablecloth hood with flower stitching. Iris had done a remarkable job adding the fine petals, and even proposed an extra pink headband with ribbons as a present. A light breeze excited the cloak to reveal the Mareep now wearing it with a mix of shyness and pride. Though she seemed especially nervous to be in such a large crowd, having her trainer beside her gave her strength.

Of course, it wasn't just the two of them who would be heading out on this journey. Beside Mary sat Link, serving as backup support. At the sight of so many people at first, the sheep had tried to turn tail and run - only to be blocked by the Poochyena. Offering comfort and encouragement, Mary managed to calm down enough to tiptoe together towards the stage, where her eyes were elated by showers of bright lights and colors such as she had never imagined before - compared to the darkness of the womb she had secluded herself in for so long. The eight humans waving to the audience were just as cheerful and energized as the onlookers, inviting everyone to come and encounter the native species of their land. Surrounded by friends of her own, Mary's orb glowed with warm delight as she tentatively looked forward to making more.

As for who to choose to follow… Well, that proved to be the most difficult matter. Mary first took a few steps towards one, only to change her mind and approach another - spinning around and around until she grew dizzy. Jess herself had a hard time deciding who best to befriend, being bashful herself. The foreigners - especially the girls - were all dressed quite fashionably, showing the high tastes of home. Sporting her same old shabby hoodie, Jess felt somewhat conscious standing before them. Still, these strangers all seemed nice (if a bit ostentatious perhaps owing to their area's cultural upbringing), and recalling her experiences in Excelsior reminded her this could be a chance to make some wonderful memories and bonds - if she could bring her own self to be more sociable. In fact, this was as much a test of courage for her as it was for Mary.

Finally, both flustered females seemed to reach a consensus, gravitating towards one of the more modest youths – a young lady dressed simply but attractively in a soft brown blouse with a large white bow and fleecy skirt. Her hair was an ash blonde, coiffed short with a slight curl and tucked under a cap with a feather stuck to its band, completing the ensemble. “Classy”, as self-described.

Introducing herself as Chantelle, she welcomed the pair of timid gals (plus their escort) as they gathered aside the other trainers and their Pokémon who had already assembled into a group. Jessica smiled nervously as she shook Chantelle’s hand and accepted the Safari Ball.

“Hi, nice to meet you. My name’s Jessica. These are my friends, Mary and Link. Thank you so much for coming here to host this event for us. I look forward to participating with you and the Pokémon in your Safari!”

Melissa couldn't help grinning as the crowd began dividing itself up for the eight visiting trainers. It'd been a while since she'd spent much time in Fizzytopia, to be honest, but when she started hearing about an event introducing some new Pokemon, well, she couldn't exactly pass up that opportunity. Even if she wasn't really that interested in most of them.

"So, a Friend Safari, huh?" she said, looking over the eight trainers. "What d'you think, Wildfire?"

The Cyndaquil on her shoulder tilted his head to the side. "Qui-il. Cyn-da-quil, quil-quil." He shrugged.

"You got that right." She surveyed the trainers surrounding each of the visitors. "Got any particular preference? 'Cause, if not, then I'm just gonna go for the one with the least people." Her Fire-type starter hummed for a moment, before shaking his head. "Alright then. I guess that means we're going with...that guy."

The duo joined the group around the dark-haired guy and he immediately introduced himself.

"My name is Jean and it looks like you picked the right guy to become friends with. I know you won't regret it. In fact, I'm sure you'll find the exact Pokemon that suits you in my zone because that is just how awesome our friendship is going to be. Here's your Safari Ball. Now go get 'em!"

She gave the visiting trainer a bemused smile, as she took the offered Safari Ball and exchanged a look with her Cyndaquil. The Fire-type gave her a minute shrug and a confused look, which had her turning back to Jean with a polite smile.

"My name's Melissa and this is Wildfire." She motioned to the Cyndaquil on her shoulder, who squeaked a greeting of his own. "And, while I hope you have one of the Pokemon I'm looking for in your zone, I don't think it'll be that much of an indicator of how our friendship's gonna turn out." Her smile turned a bit lopsided. "That said, it's very nice to meet you."

Tess stands in the crowd, a still and silent figure almost unnoticed amidst the boisterous mob "oooh"ing and "aaah"ing at the fireworks display. It isn't a party she is here for, however, despite all of the fanfare she would have once enjoyed, and so she waits patiently for the latest news that has attracted such a large number of people here tonight. Ever watchful, she misses nothing, her emerald green eyes scanning her surroundings even though she is not exactly sure what it is she's looking for - just that she'll know when she sees it. Tucking a stray length of black hair behind her ear she draws her cloak a little tighter, donning its hood. Her hand moves to her belt, automatically reaching for the familiar red and black Pokéball that rarely leaves her side. The slight heat radiating from within soothes her, as it always does, as she is secure in the knowledge her beloved friend is close by her side.

Her eyes are drawn to the stage, a curious platform considering the night's announcement. But then again, the kind of news being released tonight is that which usually does require some kind of celebration. Pokémon is what this is all about, and that is why Tess is here. At least that's a large part of the reason she is here. She has another more personal reason for wanting to know more about this "Kalos" region people have been talking about lately, but that can wait. She's been searching this long, what's a few days more?

It isn't long before several trainers take the stage, the first a girl who announces that she has come all the way from Kalos to bring joy and friendship to this region. Tess raises an eyebrow, slightly amused by this statement. Are we not joyous and friendly enough already? With a silent sigh she pushes this thought to the back of her mind and listens to the rest of the trainers. She can't say she is particularly comfortable with the information being revealed. Friend Safari's? Each of these trainers are introducing specific Pokémon to the region, but to join their safari and have the chance to catch one of their unique Pokémon we need to befriend them? Her gaze hardens as she gazes across the stage at these trainers who all appear far too naive for their own good with their "Let's make friends and I'll give you a Pokémon!" attitude. Clamping her hand around the red and black Pokéball attached to her belt she allows the heat from within to calm her. Closing her eyes she thinks back to the day she began her Pokémon journey and can barely recognise the girl she once was. How things have changed.

Taking a deep breath Tess refocuses on the event. She's not sure she wishes to take part at the moment but she's willing to at least hear them out. Making friends isn't something she has the least bit of interest in doing. She has few friends these days, but those she does have she would move heaven and earth for. Loyal to the extreme she will do anything for her true friends, and while she has no interest in befriending strangers she is not opposed to getting to know people. This feels forced, though, and extremely uncomfortable. But she needs to focus. This is a brand new chapter in her journey and she may very well need to have friends in the right places so she listens carefully to each of the trainers.

Not Angelique, that's for sure. Shopping buddies? Just.. no. Byron seems ok. Not at all in your face like some of the others, just a down to earth kind of guy who is all for sharing stories. Nice. Is Chantelle actually blushing over there? Oh Lord, she is. Next! Jean is far too sure of himself, and Manon's repeated use of the term, "I mean" would drive Tess mad in a relatively short period of time. Remy seems ok. It's been a while since Tess has tried on some skates, but it sounds kinda fun. Something about Yvette's appearance appeals to Tess, but she doubts she'll be able to hang around the girl for very long as she seems a tad on the needy/clingy side. Wanting to keep in touch all the time and keep up to date on everything as often as possible? Ugh. She's feeling claustrophobic already. Tess likes boundaries, the more the better. And Wyatt seems ok if a little on the insecure side which has Tess looking between Byron and Remy.

Her decision is an easy one but Tess hangs back for a while interested in seeing what other trainers are choosing to do. While she waits she unclips a regular Pokéball from her belt, releasing the little Spinarak within. They've spent precious little time travelling together to date, so now is as good a time as any to work on her friendship with a fellow team member as well as with a stranger from Kalos. Eventually moving forward, and genuinely interested in getting to know Byron who appears to be an enthusiastic story teller, Tess dons her warmest smile and greets the boy with a sincere, "Hi Byron. I'm Tess, and am looking forward to hearing all about your Kalos adventures."

The trainer in the red coat wasn't sure what to expect. All things considered he had been curious about all of the rumors he had been hearing about pokemon from the Kalos region. Finding himself near the front of the stage, Stark watched with interest as the trainers from Kalos performed their well rehearsed speech. The fireworks were a nice touch as well. Nothing like starting off with a bang.

"Lu!" the little blue canine fighter at his side exclaimed at all the excitement. Stark looked down at the Riolu and smiled. It had been sometime since the two of them had been out and about together. Last time was a little sight seeing that had them encounter a rather large aggron who uniquely had the ability to talk. This time was going to be to watch and listen to the trainers from Kalos.

It seemed that these trainers had brought a number of pokemon from their own region with them and were willing to share them. The catch was that you needed to become friends with one of the trainers. An interesting twist, but not one Stark was completely uncomfortable with. After all, he had already decided to want to get to know one of the trainers from the first moment he saw her.

Maybe it was his weakness to accents. Maybe it was his weakness to red heads. Maybe he just had too many weaknesses and a number of them were all wrapped up in this one girl from Kalos. Manon had brought a smile to his face the moment he saw her. Stepping up to her and seeing how flustered she was getting speaking English only endeared her more to the trainer. Plus she liked red. Stark's favorite color as well. What more could he ask for? Not much really.

"Well Manon, Rio and I are very pleased to meet you and cannot wait to get to know you better," Stark responded to the woman as he accepted the Safari Ball she offered him, "Now let's go check out this garden of yours and see if we can't have some fun!" A sly grin turned into a broad smile after a minute as Stark and his Riolu made their way into Manon's garden.

Ludicolo With a Little Help From My Friends

Hope it's not that obvious that I ran out of time to write this...

Wes could barely see past the purple haze sweating out of Tangrowth’s pores. The eight travellers looked like Durant, but that was the least of his worries - his mind’s eye was doing pretty good job of setting the scene. The trees were marching like a bale of Torterra and he could’ve sworn he’d seen a yellow submarine fly overhead. He gave a soft giggle, sinking deeper into the tress of vines germinating from Mojo’s belly. Wes had travelled down the rabbit hole with his Tangrowth plenty before – especially of late. It was hard to find much else to do in Fizzy Bubbles outside of the battling circuit, but there was no going back as far as that was concerned. There had been epic clashes and grisly skirmishes but someone always got hurt in the end – and it was never the trainer. He’d given up his titles, his trophies and his referee whistle to lead a life of peace and self-realisation. What he was going to do when he encountered one of the Kalosian Pokémon was anyone’s guess. Maybe Mojo could give it a hug? He hadn’t thought that far ahead. As time went whirring by Wes felt his eyelids get heavy, the leisurely rhythm of Tangrowth’s pulse coaxing him into a midday siesta...

The fireworks splattered the sky with a snare drum crescendo, the glare of the waking world magnified in a way like he’d been roused by a flash bang. Glancing at his watch only a few minutes had passed but the crowd had gotten thicker and he was starting to feel self-conscious he was lay on his back. The audience was bustling with energy; a rapturous applause breaking from ahead as one of the foreign trainers recited their message of goodwill and solidarity. Wes ushered to his feet, using the mound of vines as support when he started to feel lightheaded. He recognised a few faces in the audience but they were too far flung to flag their attention. He faced ahead squinting as he tried to make out who was speaking. His ears strained as he struggled to decipher their heavy accents, and before he knew it they were ushering people inside.

Wes decided not to think too much about who to go with.

“Let’s just follow the girl with the most neutral colour”, he said, shattering the fourth wall. Tangrowth grumbled indifferently, dragging his vines as he shambled in tow.

Stacey walked on with purposeful strides, a note in her hand and a smile on her face. Word had spread quickly of trainers arriving from a distant continent the land of Kalos. She had heard about all the new and wonderful Pokemon that called that continent home and she was excited to meet them herself. Her eyes went all misty at the thought of the new Ghost types she could meet, since she had obtained all those she believed to be in existence she was thrilled to hear about new ghosts being discovered. She had seen the adverts on the TV and heard the event on the radio and made a note of the date leaving her Mansion behind hoping to add a new friend to her home. She walked towards the gathered crowd of people to stand at the back peering at the large stage set out before them. The trainers were all wearing beaming smiles and as fireworks lit the sky to signal the start Stacey looked down to her partner to the event. The little Numel had a blank look on her face and she wondered if Camille appreciated the beauty of the fireworks or felt the excitement filling the air? If she did she didn't show it, to be fair she didn't show a lot of emotion really. Stacey shrugged and looked back to the stage as Camille turned to look at her trainer. Her looks betrayed her smart mind and she did indeed enjoy the fireworks but she thought the whole event was a bit flashy!

They listened to the foreigners as she they spoke with their heavy French accents introducing themselves and explaining why they had hyped up their arrival. Stacey was buzzing at the mention of the new Pokemon they had brought from Kalos with them and was itching to meet as many as she could. Camile rolled her eyes at her trainer, she should really act her age. The trainers had set up arena's behind them and each person could befriend one trainer and meet the Pokemon they had with them.

Stacey stood back and let the trainers in front make their way to the Kalos natives choosing a new friend and entering the zones they had set up. This was certainly an interesting and difficult decision to make. She knew in her mind what kind of Pokemon she wanted to meet and hopefully add to her team but which trainer had brought which Pokemon with them? She sat down on a nearby bench as Camille sat by her legs and she observed as the gathered crowd slowly thinned out.

"What do you think Camille, any of them catch your eye?" Stacey asked whilst staring at trainers almost trying to answer her own question. If Camille could raise an eyebrow she would, how was she supposed to answer? They all looked similar to her, young and too full of energy, it was tiring to look at. Anyway, why was she interested in her opinion. She knew that she was just brought here because she had a type advantage over the ghosts that her 'mistress' was hoping to catch. Stacey unaware of the thoughts in her Numel's head smiled and scratched her lovingly behind the ear.

"Yeah, bit of a weird question eh?" she chuckled and Camille snorted a puff of smoke from her nostrils. "I suppose I'll pick then." She rose to her feet and walked towards the stage with Camille trailing behind her slowly and she looked over the trainers once more. Finally she smiled at the young lad that was dressed smartly in black and burgundy. He had a pair of roller blades on her feet and she grinned, it had been so long since she had skated, and his offer of a skate caught her attention, perhaps he had a spare pair lying around. She suddenly had the image of Camille with roller blades on all four of her stubby little feet and she had to fight the urge to burst out laughing and look like a lunatic.

"Hi Remy, its nice to meet you. My name is Stacey and this my Numel Camille. If you're willing we'd love to see what Pokemon you've brought with you ... and I'd love the chance to roller blade again" She beamed her warm smile at him hoping she didn't come off as too weird!

"We finally made it!" It had taken a while for the trainer to make it to this destination. Not only that, but he also waited a while for this, having heard the many commercials and advertisements that had been going on even longer than his journey here. A purple timid bug right next to him answered in agreement, "Veno-nat!" Trainers stood all around them, all of them discussing the rumor on new inhabitants roaming these lands as the presenters began they grand introduction.

"Ugh. This is too hard! I don't know, which person should we choose?" Kuri had already been trying to decide which person gave him the best vibes, so he pointed towards two particular people that caught his interest. "Venonat?" "Yeah, I kind of liked the last person who spoke as well, Wyatt, was it? Yeah, both him and Jean seem fine. It also helps that those two groups seem smaller than the rest..." Which Rob suspected was probably part of the reason Kuri liked those two groups. "Well, I think we should go take a chance and go with Jean. I like the way he presented himself. Hopefully we'll get meet some awesome new Pokémon there!" Kuri just nodded his head in agreement. "Okay then, let's us go say hi to Jean!"

While the main reason for this trainer to take part in this once in a lifetime event was to experience it, he had hopes that Kuri could be better socialized with Pokémon he doesn't know. Hopefully the Pokémon they met wouldn't be overly aggressive....

Jean introduced himself again, handing over a Safari Ball as he finished. "Thank you, Jean!" He then turned to Kuri, "Looks like we only have one shot, so let's make it count!" "Venonat!" With that, both Pokémon and trainer were ready to face whatever new mysterious Pokémon they were going to encounter, maybe even befriend some of them.

"The 'Friend Zone,' huh?" Cyrus mumbled to himself. The eight young men and women before him had just completed their enthusiastic presentation. Behind them lay eight zones, each a miniature biosphere which contained Pokémon native to the Kalos region. Cyrus had heard of Kalos before but had never been. He had little idea what the people and Pokémon of Kalos were like compared with those he had grown up with and encountered on his travels. But there was at least one thing he knew about Kalos: its reputation for amity. And now the eight young trainers before him were offering to share a taste of that friendship with him and his Pokémon.

Cyrus didn't look down with his eyes, but mentally his gaze drifted down to his belt. There, on the left, he could sense the PokéBall. He gently clenched the inside of his lower lip between two teeth. Should I bring him? Cyrus wondered. Should I risk it? As though reading her trainer's mind, Celes looked up at Cyrus's face, then the PokéBall on his belt. A kind aroma began to waft from her leaf; Cyrus was so used to the scent that he didn't even consciously notice it, but his subconscious must have registered the Chikorita's fragrance because Cyrus glanced down at her to meet Celes's gaze. Her red eyes looked back at his, reflecting concern, worry. "It's okay," Cyrus cooed to her, more to reassure himself than to reassure his Chikorita. "It'll be okay. I ..." Cyrus paused, "... I have confidence in Mankey." "Chika ..." Celes quietly cried back, the sad worry in her voice plain to hear.

Cyrus knew why she was worried. Mankey had proven a difficult case. Difficult and dangerous. The Pokémon possessed immense physical strength and power. And coupled with this power were an intense ferocity and a defiant spirit. While most Pokémon opened their hearts to Cyrus fairly quickly -- most before he even came to be their trainer -- Mankey hadn't been so easy to connect with. When the other Pokémon all got to come out of their PokéBalls and play, Cyrus would have to leave Mankey inside of his, releasing him later -- all on his own -- for brief periods of time. Cyrus felt it was cruel on some level, but at the same time he could not allow sentiment to cloud his judgment. He could not negligently jeopardize the well-being of his other Pokémon. But still ...

Without even thinking, Cyrus instinctively began to walk forwards, approaching the eight Kalosians hosting the day's event. "If this 'Friend Safari' really is what its name makes it sound like, then this is an invaluable opportunity for Mankey and I. The most important question now is ..." His eyes scanned the hosts. "... Which one of these trainers is going to best be able to handle Mankey?" Cyrus knew better than to judge a book by its cover, but unfortunately book covers were all he had to work with right now. The girl named Angelique ... she seemed nice, yes, but Cyrus worried that she might not be tough enough to handle Mankey if things got out of hand. He had similar worries about some of the others.

Then his eyes fell on Jean, chatting with some of the others in the crowd. Cyrus remembered what he had said during the presentation. "Like my friends here, we hope that each and everyone of you becomes one of our friends." Cyrus wasn't exactly looking to make friends himself right now, but--

He stopped dead in his tracks. That thought just now ... it suddenly hit Cyrus. "Maybe Mankey and I ... maybe we're not so different after all." Cyrus didn't know quite how to feel about that and chuckled in embarrassment. But then a firm smirk came upon him. His eyes twinkled. And he resumed his march forward, more energetic and determined than before. "Maybe this event is as much for me as it is for Mankey," Cyrus considered. "Maybe we can both grow from this experience, as individuals as well as as friends."

Jean turned to look at the young man who had just approached him and greeted him in casual Kalosian. Cyrus returned the greeting. "Hi, my name is Cyrus and ..." Cyrus looked for the words ... "And I hope we can become friends."

Jean smiled back. "You picked the right guy to become friends with! I know you won't regret it." His confidence was reassuring to Cyrus. I've made the right choice, he decided. If anyone of them can handle Mankey, it's this guy. "... how awesome our friendship is going to be," Cyrus heard Jean finish as he tuned back in from his inner thoughts. Jean really did seem to place a lot of value on friendship. Good, Cyrus thought to himself, smiling. He took the Safari Ball that Jean offered him and placed it in his pocket.

Even Celes was smiling now, although a darted look at the ball on her trainer's belt brought a slightly serious look back to her face. Don't worry, Cyrus, she thought to herself. Even if Jean can't help you, I will. I'll make sure to protect you, and all the Pokémon. So resolving to herself, Celes looked up at Jean and smiled, her leaf gently flicking 'round occasionally like a Skitty's tail.

OOC: If I'm too late you can just delete this, sorry!

Mint was a fluffy Eevee. She was one of the youngest Pokemon Alli. And yet, she had an important role to play as the backbone of the group. It was Mint who would break up the fights between Ruxtor and Woofak by talking them down. It was Mint who followed Little Gar constantly to make sure that he'd stay out of trouble and stay safe. And while the little Eevee did try to get Codi to behave like a responsible adult, it wasn't always so fruitful. Mint was the bubbling optimist of the group, and above all else, she loved making new friends.

Alli, not so much. She'd rather spend the days playing with her Pokemon, or performing on her panpipes, or reading about cryptids. She was not always the most social person. This is why, with a hesitant expression, she stared at Angelique. Angelique handed her a Safari Ball, that Alli slowly took. Mint headbutted her trainer's heels from behind. Alli lifted a hand and waved shyly.

"Um, it's nice to, hellow." Mint popped out from behind her trainer cheerful, all ready to make new friends.

OOC: Once again, sorry for being late, and thanks so much for allowing me to participate!

There where two things Kin lived for. The first was friendship- while it had been a lesson hard-learned, the young trainer had eventually taken the pursuit of bonds into his heart. It had been more than ten years since, but he still fondly recalled the promise he had made with his first, and best, human friend. Just thinking of the happy times brought warmth to his mind, and he absently reached up to stroke the Cherubi sitting on his shoulder, the first nonhuman friend he had made. And, of course, the closest. The second was discovery. While friendship was the greater of his goals, discovery was the older- he'd been seeking knowledge tirelessly as long as he could remember. The promise of the fulfillment of either of his goals was enough to spur Kin into action. But both in a single package? He'd have pushed his way here if he had to fight through an army to do so. Luckily he hadn't had to do anything of the sort, even if a fair few mishaps had delayed him. He'd have to note the roof-hopping abilities of his pursuers' pokemon when he returned to the motel- But that was a story for another time.

Today, he wore mostly synthetic clothes as always- But today his pants where a fair bit thicker than usual, and both it and the tshirt he wore where a bright chiffon-y. He had picked light clothes to try and avoid the heat of the sun, though the fact he was wearing a scarf seemed counter-intuitive to that point. Moreso the fact that both the scarf and his (loose) belt where a purple faintly tinted with magenta. But to each his own, I suppose.

Looking over the guides, he made his choice in a second. He wasn't quite sure what it was, they all seemed like perfectly fine people. But one of them gave off an aura he recognized. Walking up to Chantelle, he was quick to exchange greetings with her. Up close, it was even more obvious- something about her reminded him of the friend he'd met so long ago. Smiling to himself, he admitted as such as he accepted her offered Safari Ball.
"Chantelle, you feel really reliable, you know? It reminds me of someone I knew long ago...", trailing off, he lightly slapped his cheeks to bring himself back into the moment. Smiling warmly, he finished his thought. "I truly hope we become good friends. Wish me luck- maybe you could even tell me a bit about your hometown after?"

Chantelle's Zone- Please respond in LemonChiffon

sweetbbydoll: Having made amends with your charmander, you make your way to the extravaganza and waste little time in choosing Chantelle as your new friend. The brown haired girl smiles at you and gives Sam a gentle pat on the head saying, “It's nice to meet you both too! I hope the memories we make together last a long time.”

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. Chantelle turns to you with a bit of a bounce. Her wide eyes seemingly excited over the prospects of having found someone as eager as she is to make friends. “Well, let's just start wandering and see what pops up shall we? Perhaps you can tell me a little about yourself. Like how you and this wonderful little charmander met.”

As you move through the grass you notice a white tuft of fur ahead of you. As you get a little closer you soon find that you are looking at a black and white bear-like creature who seems to be chewing on a leaf and building some sort of miniature building out of sticks. “Ooo...! That's a Pancham!” Chantelle explains as the little one stands up, puts its hands on its hips and begins to stare darkly at you, “Don't worry. Their bark is worse than their bite. Well sometimes it is.”

What will you do?

Wyatt's Zone- Please respond in Blue

Pest: The day had already been a whirlwind of different emotions for you. Excitement, confusion, and even a bit of fear. The idea of making friends seemed uncomfortable and yet that was exactly what was being asked of you. By default and a little unfortunate eye contact, you found yourself a little on your heels as Wyatt talked to you. He seemed to have picked up on the nervousness a bit and got down to business before things got really uncomfortable. “You're right! My zone is a great one!” Wyatt smiled as he led you and Invidia outside.

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “Hey! Let's go over to the pond. Your croagunk can cool off in the water if it wants.” As you make your way toward the pond Wyatt adds, “So tell me how you and Invidia here met. Did you find him or did he find you?”

As get closer to the pond you suddenly hear an explosion. Looking toward the pond you can see the debris of dust and rock falling to the ground on the stony side of the pond. A closer look at the water reveals a blue crustacean near the edge of the shore who seemed to be blasting the rocks with a shot of pressurized water from its rather large claw. “Oh hey! That's a Clauncher!”

What will you do?

Remy's Zone- Please respond in Green

Missingo Master: Hearing the news of new pokemon being introduced was all you and Meowth needed to quickly get out of your base and head off on adventure. Not that you really needed any incentive for adventure, but this was something that just seemed too good to pass up. A quick breakfast and you were off. Meowth eventually chose the trainer named Remy as the one of whom to get to know. Good thing too considering this trainer didn't seem very fazed by the fact that Meowth could speak. Another trainer might freak out or go all ga ga over him, but Remy seemed to keep his cool throughout.

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “You know mon ami, your talking cat is quite rare. I remember meeting a talking pokemon only once in my lifetime and that was a lucario. Tell me how you met. I would really like to know what brought together such a unique pair.”

As you walk through the tall grass you notice a sweet aroma in the air. The further you go, the stronger it becomes. Like fresh blossoms on the breeze. Eventually, Meowth notices a small pink bird-like creature floating behind you. As Remy turns he smiles, “Well what do you know? Seems we have a Spritzee following us.”

What will you do?

Chantelle's Zone- Please respond in LemonChiffon

MarbleZone: As you watch the show, thoughts of why you brought Bud with you and how accepting of the choice Min was of it danced through your mind. All things considered, this little expedition had seemed rather light-hearted compared to the horrors you had encountered during some of your more recent travels. All things considered, that was not a bad thing at all. Upon choosing Chantelle, you could see she nearly squealed at the cuteness of Min while making sure to give Bud a nice pat on the head as well. Sure you had her blushing for a moment with your awkward stumbling, but she managed to take it all in stride. Chances were that you were not the first one to find her attractive and mention it to her. Although maybe the first one to do so in the way you did. Upon hearing that you were ready, Chantelle tapped your nose with her finger and smiled slyly, “Then follow me you naughty boy. Just know that I need to get to know you a little better before I let you explore my garden.” She winked as she led you and your pokemon outside.

The four of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. Chantelle seems to have a bit of a bounce in her step as you journey into the tall grass. “So Levin... tell me a little something about yourself. Like maybe how you met such adorable pokemon!” While you could tell that Chantelle was doing her best to not focus on one or the other, it was pretty obvious by the way her eyes kept falling on Min that she was fighting the urge to pick the little cinccino up and squeeze her.

You continue walking when out of nowhere you hear the rustle of grass and before you know it a black and white bear with a leaf in its mouth leaps up to land in front of you with a growl to match the scowl on its face. “Ohhhh! It's a Pancham!” Chantelle squeals in delight. The smile and happiness obviously getting to the little bear as you can start to see it break character as far as being the supposed intimidator it wants to be as a smile begins to creep across its face.

What will you do?

Wyatt's Zone- Please respond in Blue

Jolteonjak: You take in the crowd and everything else happening around you with Taran moving about from your head to your shoulder and back again. Eventually, you and Taran settle on Wyatt as the trainer to meet. Releasing Ledy from a rather special pokeball, the three of you head over and talk to the boy from Kalos. You introduce your pokemon and Wyatt seems to find himself rather interested in them. Especially when you tell him about how you met them. In the end, he hands you your pokeball and walks with you out into the zone.

The four of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “So do you train bug pokemon exclusively? I know a lot of gym leaders tend to specialize in one type of pokemon. Even Elite Four members do. Is that what you want to do? Become a gym leader or a member of the Elite Four someday?” Wyatt asks genuinely curious.

As you continue along you happen to notice something odd ahead of you. Something 'V' shaped sticking out of the ground. The closer you get the more you can see that it might be the ears of some sort of pokemon. You soon find yourself staring at the head of a rabbit-like pokemon. “Oh wow! That's a Bunnelby!” Wyatt exclaims. As you approach a little closer you see the head disappear into a hole in the ground only to pop out a few feet away from the original hole. In fact now that you look a little closer you can see quite a few holes in the ground that the bunnelby seems to be popping its head in and out of in order to get a good look at you.

What will you do?

Remy's Zone- Please respond in Green

gmoyes: Finding some delight in the idea of being able to continue your research on pokemon even further with the introduction of new pokemon to the region, you still find yourself standing on the edge observing. The theme of the event was a bit off-putting to you as it didn't seem very rational, but there was little you could do about that at this time. At least not if you wanted to get a new partner for your team. With your first choice of trainers suddenly bombarded by others, you head toward the trainer with the long brown hair known as Remy. Silently you listen as the Kalos trainer speaks and then hands you a Safari Ball. “Well I take it you are the strong silent type.” Remy smiles and nods at you, “No matter. I'm sure we can still become friends if we try. Follow me and we'll get started.”

The two of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. As you walk into the tall grass Remy remains silent for a bit and then asks, “So maybe you could tell me a little about yourself. Like what you like to do? What kind of pokemon you like to train. That sort of thing. I've been curious about pokemon my whole life, so learning more about them from the perspective of other trainers is always interesting to me.”

Before long you hear a jingle jangle. Although you don't see anything at first. Suddenly the noise stops and as you take a few more steps you notice what looks to be a large keyring on the ground. “Well would you look at that? It's a Klefki! It seems to be pretending not to be a pokemon, but I bet if you get close enough to it, it might move.”

What will you do?

Remy's Zone- Please respond in Green

Gemini Spark: The opportunity to be the first in the land to catch a new pokemon was more than enough motivation to get you on your way. The event itself bringing back memories of a commercial for a game that took place in the Kalos region. Going through the rules, you finally decide to go see what Remy has in store. Your joke about exploding playing cards not lost on him as he smiles wryly. “Well I would look forward to a battle with you. Pokemon or cards,” Remy winked as he handed you the Safari Ball and led you out into the zone where he watched as you released your Taillow.

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. You soon begin to travel into the tall grass as Mia takes to the skies above you. “That's a pretty good strategy you have there. Nothing like a bird's eye view. So if this is her first adventure, she must be fairly new to you. How did you meet your little birdy?” Remy asked as you all continued through the grass.

Eventually, Remy leads you to the pond where you notice something odd stuck in one of the stones along the bank. A sword with a blue cloth coming out of its hilt dangled down and wrapped around a sheath. Remy stopped and stared at it for a moment before saying, “Well that's unexpected. That's a Honedge. I wonder how it got stuck in there?”

What will you do?

Chantelle's Zone- Please respond in LemonChiffon

Rakurai: The idea of a nice relaxing outing seemed comforting. With Flandre and Tia by your side the entire affair was bound to be pleasant. At least you figured as much until you realized why Flandre chose the trainer she chose for you to be friends with. Still, your charmander seemed to not have battle on her mind quite yet. At least not battle with the other charmander that was. Chantelle smiled at you and your pokemon broadly as she patted Tia on the head and then moved over to Flandre commenting as she pet the lizard, “Well you are the second charmander I have met today. I must be a very lucky girl! I have to say, its very nice to have a sister to travel with you. Maybe I'm not the only lucky girl here.” Chantelle smiled and nodded at your two pokemon companions before leading you outside.

The four of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “So tell me about your sisters here,” Chantelle says looking toward you and your pokemon, “Are they real sisters or were they born at the same time or are they just sisters because they are a part of your pokemon family? I would like to hear all about them.”

You continue along when you notice a high pitched kind of... singing? “Bay bay! Fla... bay bay...!” As you look in the direction of the song you notice a small white and yellow pokemon riding on a red petalled flower singing into the stigma or the flower like it was a microphone as it floats across the grass on the wind.

“Oh look! A Flabébé! It's soooo... cute!” Chantelle smiles broadly.

What will you do?

Remy's Zone- Please respond in Green

uhhhhh: Having recently returned from Kalos yourself, you find yourself excited at the chance to capture one of the amazing pokemon you saw while abroad. It was one thing to take pictures of pokemon and quite another to travel with them as your friends and partners. Not sure which trainer to choose as far as a friend you find inspiration in the PokePuff being eaten by Waldemar. Having thanked Remy, he leads you and your lickilicky into the zone.

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. Remy seems to be enjoying watching Waldemar continue to eat his PokePuffs. “I have never met a lickilicky before. He's rather impressive. Tell me a little about him. Like how you met and what he is like,” the Kalosian trainer asked.

You continue walking when you notice the sound of jingling nearby. Upon closer inspection you find what looks like a set of keys on a keyring shaking vigorously. It seems that one of the keys got caught on a stick that was in the ground and can't seem to shake loose. “It's a Klefki!” Remy remarks, “Seems its having a little trouble.”

What will you do?

Wyatt's Zone- Please respond in Blue

Schala: Relieved that you kept Hecate in her pokeball for the festivities due to collateral damage that could have been caused by the dark/fire type, you instead release a rather joyful shroomish. Airmid had an exuberance about her that seemed to fit in well. At least for the most part. The little mushroom wasting no time in preparing to make friends. Eventually, you decide to talk to Wyatt and he greets you warmly. Despite your surprise at his offer of getting a drink together, you seem to regain your poise quickly. Wyatt grins and gladly takes the garland from Airmid and places it around his neck. “Why thank you very much Arimid. It's lovely,” he says gently rubbing the side of the Shroomish's face.

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “Well Schala, why don't you tell me how you and such a crafty little pokemon managed to meet. Don't leave out what it is about her that you like so much either cause she seems awfully nice,” the Kalos trainer said.

As you walk for a bit through the tall grass Wyatt suddenly stops and holds his hand out to signal you to stop as well. You feel a slight chill in your body. Not cold necessarily, but something more creepy. “Look. Over there!” Wyatt pointed off toward a large orange orb with brown leaves on top and glowing yellow eyes, “It's a Pumpkaboo! And a Large one too! They don't get much bigger than that. Looks like we might have woken it up. They're nocturnal so it's going to be a little slow to react to us right now, but if we're lucky it won't be grumpy when it completely wakes up.”

“Boooooo..... boooooo...... booooo....!” the pumpkaboo begins to moan more and more loudly as it awakens.

Chantelle's Zone- Please respond in LemonChiffon

lilbluecorsola: Getting out was the order of the day given how long it felt like it had been since you and your partners had done so. Although getting Mary going was a bit difficult given her shyness. Thankfully, Link was there to help. Still, once you arrived at the event and the sheep saw the bright lights she seemed far more at ease than she was when you were at your Secret Base. It took awhile before you figured out which trainer to befriend. In fact, you almost chose a number of other trainers before finally settling on Chantelle. “It's very nice to meet you Jessica. And you too, Mary and Link.” the Kalosian trainer said as she bent down and pet both Mary and Link. “Shall we begin?”

The four of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. You start to walk into the tall grass when Mary says,” So how long have you three been together? How did you meet? Tell me everything! I want to know all about you all.”

As you continue your walk you notice a patch of flowers. Once you get a little closer you notice one of them start to move. Soon it pops up out of the ground and you see a small white and yellow pokemon on a blue flower rise into the air where it appears to start dancing on the breeze. “It's a Flabébé! Oh I think it's going to dance for us. Then again, it might be just getting ready to draw out the power of the flowers to attack us for getting too close. I'm really not sure...”

What will you do?

Remy's Zone- Please respond in Green

Arc Angel: The news of new pokemon possibly even some new ghosts was more than enough to draw you here from your mansion. With Camille at your feet you observed the festivities until the time came to choose which trainer to befriend. With no real help from Camille you finally settled on the trainer named Remy. His enthusiasm for rollerblading bringing to mind memories of the last time you skated along with the rather amusing image of Camille on skates. “Well Stacey, I look forward to skating with you. Too bad the grass is so high in my zone or we could do that now. Oh well. I'm sure we'll get our chance. Oh and before I forget... Hello to you Camille,” Remy said as he bent down and pet the numel, “Alright then, let's go see what we can find.”

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “So Stacey, tell me a little about yourself. After all, if we are going to be friends I want to know all about you. Oh and don't forget to tell me about Camille too.” Remy said as you wander into the tall grass.

You continue your walk until you reach a small pond where you notice a large splash that had just taken place. As you look a little closer you see a pair of yellow eyes pop out of the surface of the water and head over toward the stony side of the pond. Soon something blue leaps out up onto one of the taller rocks where it settles. “Oh wow! That's a Froakie!” Remy exclaims, “They are really rare!” The frog turns it's attention to you for a minute and then goes back to leaping from rock to rock until it gets up as high as possible. Once there it starts doing some kind of weird Tai Chi movements until it flips into the air and dives down into the pond. Unfortunately, the froakie seems to lack the grace needed for a smooth dive and instead backflopped on the water. A load shriek is heard after the thwack of it's hard impact. Slowly the froakie begins sinking into the water in pain.

Kinindra: With the promise of friendship and discovery, it doesn't take you long to decide to go and enjoy the festivities the Friend Safari offered. Sure there were a few delays, but you had made it and that was all that mattered. Unlike some of the other trainers around, you decided to wear clothes appropriate for the weather rather than for style. Although you seemed to have plenty of that too. It didn't take long for you to choose Chantelle as your Kalosian friend and the girl smiled upon meeting you. “Oui! I can tell you all about Lumiose City! It is largest city in all the Kalos region. The shopping there is incredible! Not only that, but we have all the best food and there is a cafe on every corner. Oh it is amazing! At the center of the city is the Prism Tower. It is magnifique! Professor Sycamore has his lab there too! Oh but we should really get going. I can't be considered reliable if all I'm going to do is sit here and talk your ear off can I?”

The four of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “So let me see... I'm guessing this person I remind you of is kind, loving, friendly, lovely...” Chantelle said with a smile, “I'm only kidding. Although I think it is very kind of you to think of me like someone else. At least as long as that someone else wasn't a serial killer. That would be bad.” Chantelle brushed her hands on her skirt to straiten it out a bit as you made your way into the tall grass, “Oh! It seems I've been doing all the talking. Why don't you tell me a little about yourself. I see you have a cutie cherubii with you. How long have you been together? How did you meet? Tell me something about yourself I wouldn't know.”

As you wander a little further along you hear a rather lovely chirping noise coming from a small redish-orange bird who seems to be circling above you. “Ooo! It's a Fletchling!” Suddenly the bird dives down at you all and swoops back up. “I think that was a warning. Fletchlings tend to be rather territorial.”

What will you do?

Remy soon led Keith and Meowth out to a grassy area, surrounded on all side by short fences. However, the fenced-in area had ample room for the Pokémon it contained, complete with a pond in one corner for the benefit of any possible Water-types. As Keith looked around, eyes peeled for any new Pokémon, Remy spoke up, remarking on his own experience with a talking Pokémon- a Lucario. "Yeah, I've heard they're capable of some sort of aura-related telepathy," agreed Keith. "Never really met one myself, though." And then, Remy asked Keith how he had met Meowth. "Well, actually, Meowth didn't always be used to be able to talk," began Keith. "A friend of mine, a Trainer named Noriko, she was looking to trade her Meowth away, and I kinda wanted one, so we arranged the trade. However, when the trade was being made, the trade machine kinda malfunctioned. To this day we don't know for sure what it was, though the prevailing theory is that there was some human DNA in the machine. All I know is, once the trade was complete, Meowth became able to talk."

At this point, Keith paused to sniff at the air. "Huh," he remarked. "Nice smell."

"Yeah," Meowth added, also sniffing at the air (somehow, despite having no visible nose). "And Keith here actually specializes in Poison types, so I ain't dat used ta nice smells, either- wat is dat?" he said suddenly, pointing behind Keith. The Poison-type Trainer wheeled around, as did Remy, and they could see what Meowth had pointed out- a small, pink bird, which also seemed to be the source of the pleasant aroma. Keith had never seen this kind of Pokémon before, while Remy clearly recognized it- he smiled and identified it as a Spritzee.

"A Spritzee?" said Keith, taking out his Pokédex. "Never heard of it." And he opened up the Pokédex and pointed it at the unfamiliar Pokémon.

"Spritzee, the Perfume Pokémon," droned the recently upgraded device. "Spritzee emits a pleasant aroma that enraptures those who smell it. Its aroma changes based on what it has recently eaten."

"What the..." Keith murmured as he looked at the Pokédex's screen. "Fairy type? I never heard of it before."

"So, wat's youse tinkin'?" Meowth asked Keith. "A teammate dat smells nice, dat'd be a nice change."

"Ehh," Keith replied. "Honestly, Meowth, I dunno. Spritzee doesn't really seem like my kind of Pokémon, y'know?"

"I guess I see wat ya mean," Meowth sighed.

"Oh, relax, you're all but used to the rest of the team's odors anyway," Keith said. "Now, c'mon, let's see what else this area has to offer, hmm?"

uhhhhh: Having recently returned from Kalos yourself, you find yourself excited at the chance to capture one of the amazing pokemon you saw while abroad.

As Connor, Remy, and Waldemar head on inside Remy's Safari, the foreign trainer turned to Connor and started a conversation, “I have never met a lickilicky before. He's rather impressive. Tell me a little about him. Like how you met and what he is like,” "Oh Waldemar? I got him from a trade some long time ago from one of the Elite Trainers here, back when he was a Lickitung," Connor recounted how he first met the lickilicky, "Waldemar's actually pretty friendly and isn't really that difficult of a pokemon, if you don't mind the constant licking. Oh, that's his way of making friends! He's a pretty big eater too, you wouldn't believe how many PokePuffs I had to buy for him!" he faced the lickilicky with a smile who in turn approached Connor with a gentle lick, "Hey easy now, that tickles!" he giggled before he asked for Waldemar to stop, "Whoa, wait a second Waldemar, I hear something..."

Upon approaching the sound, Connor and Remy had quickly identified the source of the noise being that of keys being shaken vigorously: a Klefki. "Whoa, isn't that one of those keyring Pokemon I've heard about? I never saw one of those on my trip before..." Connor was about to grab his Pokedex before noticing again that the Pokemon seemed to be having trouble by itself. A stick was stuck on one of its keys and now it desperately wants to get rid of it, with little success. "Hmmm, a key got stuck on something huh? Hey Klefki, lemme help you with that okay? Please hold still, I promise not to harm you nor steal your keys," with that, Connor assisted the Klefki in trying to remove the stuck stick.

Hyrem's joke referencing a certain favorite character of his was definitely something Remy could play off of when he said, "Well I would look forward to a battle with you. Pokemon or cards.” As he winked, Hyrem quipped, "As long as the cards don't blow up in my face, I'm fine with that. You know," he added, "I do have a deck of Pokemon trading cards I can play with, though I haven't made the changes to my deck I want to yet. Still, if you have your own deck, I'd be up for a game of that!"

Remy then watched as Amelia was let out of her Pokeball and put to work by flying around, looking for signs of life from above. “That's a pretty good strategy you have there," he remarked. "Nothing like a bird's eye view. So if this is her first adventure, she must be fairly new to you. How did you meet your little birdy?” Hyrem smiled as he thought back to when he first met her as a tiny chick. "I actually got her from a good friend of mine, a Dragon Tamer named Balmund. He was the one who hatched her, but he was really worried a little baby bird like her would get eaten by his Seviper or one of his dragons. So he handed her over to me! Thing is," he chuckled nervously, "I don't think she's that much better off in my team when I have my own Seviper, a couple of Arbok, a Weavile, and a Purrloin that would all go for her if they got the chance!"

Hyrem and Remy then came up to a pond where they noticed something unusual jutting out from between the rocks on the nearby edge. "What's that?" Hyrem asked. "It looks like a sword." In fact, it was indeed a sword, this one with a blue cloth tied around its hilt, and was it actually... holding onto its sheath? His suspicions that it was more than just some item found in a video game made back in his home region of Kanto were confirmed when Remy replied, “Well that's unexpected. That's a Honedge. I wonder how it got stuck in there?”

"Honedge, huh?" he wondered as he opened Dexelle, who just recently got the latest Pokedex update, for more information:

Honedge, the Sword Pokemon. A cursed blade inhabited by a spirit, Honedge will latch on to anyone who tries to grab its hilt and wield it, then drain the life force out of the wielder before they are able to free themselves from its grip.

"Yeesh, that's nasty," he said to himself. Come to think of it, he recently saw a short documentary on how these Pokemon could be produced and was pretty interested, but after reading the Pokedex entry it sounded like something a certain Blood Goddess would come up with to trick people into giving life energy for her. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising at all if she "conveniently" left a few in this zone for Hyrem and Keith, who had entered this zone before him. It just sounded in his head like something she'd do. He didn't really sense any indication of her presence whatsoever, but it paid to be cautious. Nope, this weapon was definitely not something he wanted to have around him on a regular basis, even if she wasn't involved. Still, he didn't feel right just leaving Honedge stuck like that, but if he wanted to help it out he had to be careful not to grab it by the hilt if he didn't want it to attach itself to him and start eating at his soul...

"Hey Remy, think you can help me figure out how to get Honedge free?" he asked his friend. "Preferably without it attacking me? I'm not interested in catching it, but I don't want to just leave it like that."

What will you do?
Remy appeared enthusiastic and warm and greeted the pair as they approached him with a smile on his face. She could see why he attracted a lot of friends, he seemed to be so easy going and approachable and he greeted Camille too who looked to almost smile at being acknowledged by another human ... she wasn't expecting that. She was almost always forgotten and pushed aside as a dumb creature Stacey had picked up along the way, perhaps she was worth something after all. The pair follow Remy into his zone set up behind the stage into an area of cool green grass, Camille following, sneezing as she inhaled the fresh green blades a little too deeply. Stacey chuckled at her cute camel's antics and Camille internally sighed whilst traipsing after her trainer. As they Remy walked he asked about Stacey and Camille and Stacey smiled bashfully, she didn't like talking about herself too much but it made sense that he'd want to know about her if they were to be friends.

"Well, I'm nearly 30, a little old to be a trainer but I've been training Pokemon for nearly 9 years now and through the ups and downs I've loved it. I've come across some fascinating people and Pokemon and its made the journey worth while. I'm not too good at talking about myself and making new friends ... erm ... my trust has been betrayed too many times but I can sense this won't happen today. I specialise in Ghost Pokemon, in fact I had caught every known Ghost Pokemon until I heard of Kalos and the exotic Pokemon the region contained. I couldn't help but want to meet new Ghost types for myself." Stacey heard a little cough and looked down to Camille wondering if she had made the noise, it sounded like it came from her but she was so neutral. Stacey smiled bashfully as she guessed what Camille was wanting her to say.

"I have also started to train Ground types, Camille was one of the first I hatched and I haven't had much time to spend with her so I knew I had to bring her here, I should spend more time with my younger Pokemon, I regret that I haven't" She said regretfully and Camille resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Was she really telling the truth? Did she want to spend time with her or had she brought her along as a type advantage when she caught whispers of the new Ghost Pokemon this region held.

Soon they reach a small pond, the water's surface rippled as a pair of yellow eyes poked out and Stacey gasped as she saw a Pokemon leap out of the pond and land on one of the larger rocks. Her first encounter with a Kalos Pokemon. She reached into her satchel and pulled out her Mismagius-coloured Pokedex, it had been so long since she had used it, she hoped the upgrade she had paid for before the event had been worth it.

"Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokemon.
It secretes flexible bubbles from its chest and back. The bubbles reduce the damage it would otherwise take when attacked.
It protects its skin by covering its body in delicate bubbles. Beneath its happy-go-lucky air, it keeps a watchful eye on its surroundings."

"It's certainly interesting, and really rare eh?" Stacey said thoughtfully as Froakie leapt from rock to rock its body twisting and spinning in the air almost in a show of grace. As she probed the Pokedex further it revealed that it was one of the starter Pokemon for the Kalos region.

"Wow I wonder what kind of Pokemon it will eventually become?" she pondered as it spun in the air hoping to dive but rather ungracefully and belly flopped into the water hitting the surface with a bang and painfully sinking underneath.

"Well that was a bad idea," Stacey muttered as Camille had to agree with her for a change, what was the frog trying to achieve other than drowning? Although Froakie was interesting she was desperate to meet a new Ghost ... but she couldn't walk away whilst it was in pain. She should help the little thing out before they moved on, she wasn't completely heartless. She looked down to Camille who stared back with half lidded eyes, her expression was of dumb indifference but her mind was whirring.

'What do you expect me to do genius? I'm not going swimming after the stupid frog, you know water doesn't suit me, go and fetch it yourself,' she thought as Stacey tried to read her thoughts with no avail.

"Well I can't let the poor thing drown in pain and Camille is not best suited to diving after water Pokemon so I better get it out onto dry land and make sure its okay before we move on," Stacey said hoping Remy wasn't thinking she was too selfish. Stacey pulled her pumps off and waded into the pond thankful that she had wore shorts just above her knees with the warm weather and picked up Froakie before walking back to the grass. She looked for a soft spot before laying it down.

"I wouldn't try that again for a whilst lest you want to drown or crack your head open on a rock. How about yo rest here for a while, you'll be fine now." She said hoping that the frog wasn't in too much pain before looking up to Remy, ready to move on and explore more of his zone

((Thanks for taking me on Stark! I hope the following post is okay with you, if the way I'm handling things goes against what you guys had in mind please let me know and I'll tweak it.))

Chantelle had clearly taken a liking to Min, much like the Cincinno had become fascinated with the fashionable girl. He often thought Min had been somewhat unlucky by ending up with him, someone clearly inclined to follow a road much different from her own, and when people such as Chantelle took interest in his beautiful partner, it only served to exacerbate his feeling of guilt. Min deserved better, someone like Chantelle or the legendary coordinators from Sinnoh, not a battle-focused Trainer such as him. Yet, despite their differing ambitions, Min stood by his side at all times, displaying unshakeable, unwavering loyalty.

Faking a smile, he told Chantelle how he met Min inside Unova's Cold Storage during a field trip in middle school - the chincilla had managed to get lost inside the facility while chasing a Petilil, and was starving and almost freezing to death. He reminisced about their early days together, how he took her in and fed her in secret for years, since his parents wouldn't allow him to formally own Pokemon until he graduated high school. It'd been stressful at times, but each passing day brought them closer together, and when Levin was finally allowed to go on his journey, he was finally free to travel the world with his beloved partner.

- Now, about that joke from before... sorry about that. I'm just looking to have a good time in this event, that's all. It was inappropriate, I'm not usually like this.

It was true. He'd been through so much lately, he got a little carried away now that he found himself free from the shackles of the Arcane Realm and that dreaded Gardevoir. Uninhibited for the first time in what felt like ages, he'd let an uncharacteristic comment slip through, but now that his new journey was underway and he began to focus, he felt a little ashamed of his initial approach. Luckily his host didn't seem to mind too much.

Their walk across Chantelle's Safari was pleasant; the weather was welcoming, the scent of flowers filled the air and an unfamiliar chirping could be heard from time to time. To any regular passerby this would be an idyllic setting for a morning stroll, but to Levin, each sign had meaning in his quest.

The flowers in the distance tilted awkwardly as they were taken by the wind, as if carrying tiny creatures on them; if his memory served, it seemed to fit the description of a recently discovered Pokemon: the illusive Fairy-Type Flabebe. He couldn't be sure from such a distance, but took mental note of that possibility, given the unique rules of this event.
But it was the melody that reached his ears, the unmistakable sound of birds singing, that truly peaked his interest. Throughout their entire walk across the grassy fields of Chantelle's garden, his eyes weren't on the ground, but on the blue skies. He'd promised himself he'd take whatever came his way, but it wasn't in his nature to just go with the flow, and if there was even the slightest chance of his one true target being out there, he couldn't just ignore it...

Suddenly, the tall grass in front of them began to rustle, and from it emerged a Pokemon he'd already read about extensively. Chantelle's statement confirmed his suspicions: one of Kalos's Fighting-Types, Pancham!

This Pokemon's evolved form is Pangoro... an extremely powerful part-Dark bear! What do I do?

He felt conflicted. If he was to stay true to his initial intentions, he'd capture this Pokemon without a second thought. After all, Fighting-Type Pokemon were his specialty, and he'd been interested in Pangoro since he first saw reports on the species. And yet, he hesitated... the chirping continued, taunting him, teasing him to chase it to the source. How could he simply block it out?

Come on Levin, it's a 1 in 8 chance and luck was never your thing. You have a Pancham right in front of you, it's the only certainty you have!

Bud stood at attention, eyeing the foe for the slightest hint of aggressiveness. But despite doing its best to look menacing, the tiny panda simply didn't seem to have it in him... just like Raff.

Raff... Scraggy is already Dark and Fighting-Type, and my own wannabe badass. Wouldn't a Pancham serve that exact same purpose? That's right... Raff is already everything I need. I won't deny this Pancham its freedom just for the sake of catching another fighter.

- Bud... let it be. It doesn't seem to mean any harm, and we're not going to engage it either. Let's keep moving, there are still many beautiful sights for us to see.

He waved goodbye at the panda and turned to Chantelle.

- I have to come clean... I didn't choose your Safari at random. There were... several reasons why I picked you, among them a silly superstition, a subconscious hope I didn't acknowledge until now. That black feather in your cap... it reminded me of what peaked my interest about your region. I'd tried to ignore this fact in favor of a more carefree stroll, but the truth is I'm starting to suspect... that I might have come across an unbelievable stroke of luck.

Nature was random, and he hated randomness with all his heart. It was unpredictable and generally unfavorable, and he never liked playing rigged games unless he was the one rigging them. But right now it was looking like that 1 in 8 statistical impossibility could somehow be a reality, and if so, he'd pursue it to the very end. Even if he walked out of this Safari empty-handed.

Because I'm an idiot and an idealist... which is almost certainly a redundancy.

Perhaps more so than his ambition, his ego and definitely more than his accomplishments, Levin had become known for being extremely picky with his Pokemon. And this was one such case. The same way he'd specifically chased after a female Ducklett, who was now his precious Swanna, he now longed after a male Kalos bird to be her counterpart... perhaps even her partner. Cygna deserved it.

- Please bear with me. I know this isn't how we're supposed to do things, but this gut feeling... it's too strong to ignore. If there's a chance I can find him here, I have to give it a shot! If it upsets you, I understand and I'll play by your rules. Just... please let me try once.

The cheerful chirping he kept hearing from time to time could amount to nothing. It could be his mind playing tricks on him, and it may not be worth the risk - letting go of a Pancham, possibly upsetting Chantelle, holding Bud back... Just this once. I promise.

Levin again reached for his very first Pokeball, releasing Min who gave him a curious look. Unlike what he'd planned (or perhaps he did, unknowingly?), he'd be requiring her assistance to maximize his chances of success... if there were any to begin with.

- Hey Min... I think I might need your help. You know the Pokemon I'm always talking about, right? Hear that? I think he might be here... If you spot one, up in the sky or perched on a tree somewhere, try to lure it over with your Attract, alright? Either way, let's keep moving. If it's not here, we might as well check out what other Pokemon Chantelle chose for us!

"If, if, if, if". Some much could go wrong here. Chantelle might be opposed to his initiative; he'd understand and was prepared to face the consequences. The Pokemon he wanted might not be there at all, and in that case he was making a fool of himself. If his target was indeed found on this Safari, it might be the wrong gender and not react to Min's charm... or they could draw the attention of a different Pokemon species altogether. In any one of those scenarios, one thing remained certain - he'd already given up on a very appealing Pancham. He could come to regret this decision for a very long time - but he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he didn't try.

Sorry guys...

They kept walking, Levin and Min with eyes locked on the sky without blinking, looking for the faintest hint of movement, while Bud dutifully scouted the tall grass ahead after saying his goodbyes to Pancham. He knew they were supposed to take what they found, that was the nature of this game. But again... "what if?"

Eventually, you and Taran settle on Wyatt as the trainer to meet. Releasing Ledyba from a rather special Pokeball, the three of you head over and talk to the boy from Kalos. You introduce your Pokémon and Wyatt seems to find himself rather interested in them. Especially when you tell him about how you met them. In the end, he hands you your pokeball and walks with you out into the zone.

The four of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for Pokémon to roam. “So do you train bug Pokémon exclusively? I know a lot of gym leaders tend to specialize in one type of Pokémon. Even Elite Four members do. Is that what you want to do? Become a gym leader or a member of the Elite Four someday?” Wyatt asks genuinely curious.

As you continue along you happen to notice something odd ahead of you. Something 'V' shaped sticking out of the ground. The closer you get the more you can see that it might be the ears of some sort of Pokémon. You soon find yourself staring at the head of a rabbit-like Pokémon.

Once all preparations had been made; Chad, Wyatt, Ledyba, and Taran entered the zone to discover some new Pokémon, new to Chad that is. Along the way, Wyatt struck up a chat. “So do you train Bug Pokémon exclusively? I know a lot of gym leaders tend to specialize in one type of Pokémon. Even Elite Four members do.”

“Not exclusively,” Chad replied. “I really do like them. Most people tend to dismiss them as weak but not me. Aside from Taran and Ledyba, I also have, most notably, a Heracross, Pinsir, Larvesta, and Accelgor.”

“Is that what you want to do?” Wyatt asked. “Become a gym leader or a member of the Elite Four someday?”

“Maybe when I settle down or stop adventuring someday,” Chad thought about his future briefly. “Right now, though, I want to travel. My parents are famous explorers, and they’ve told me many stories of their travels.” Now Chad started to reminisce. “Their adventures inspired me to travel actually. I want to have stories to tell like they do. Maybe I can even tell them a story about one of my great adventures.”

The quartet continued walking around. “So what sort of things do you like to do?” Chad asked Wyatt. “What kind of Pokémon do you like?” A short time later, “Hey what’s that coming out of the ground?” A pair of ears forming a V-shape emerged from the ground. As they approached the ears, more of the mystery creature revealed itself.

“Oh wow! That’s a Bunnelby!” Wyatt announced. Having never seen one before, Chad was certainly curious. He took his Pokedex out, which thankfully got a system upgrade when he arrived at the event, and scanned the rabbit:

“A Bunnelby, huh?” Chad reacted to the sight of a brand new Pokémon to him. “That’s certainly a new one on me. So it’s from Kalos, Wyatt?” Chad noticed the holes around. “It seems it likes to dig.”

Taran watched Bunnelby from Chad’s shoulder, and when he saw Bunnelby popping in and out of the ground, he got nervous and climbed up on to Chad’s head. “Don’t worry bud. You’re safe up there,” Chad said looking up at Taran smiling.

Ledyba landed between Chad and Wyatt to watch. “Hey Wyatt, umm, Bunnelby is cute and all; but, umm, it’s not really my, uh, cup of tea,” Chad remarked with some hesitation. “I have a Teddiursa, who may become a little jealous if I caught Bunnelby. Could we see more of your zone please?”

sweetbbydoll: Having made amends with your charmander, you make your way to the extravaganza and waste little time in choosing Chantelle as your new friend.

Samantha growled lowly as she was patted on the head, she had just put her red bow on just the way she had liked it and Chantelle had to go and mess it up.

“How Samantha and I met? Well…you see…”

~*~*~

Going back a couple of years…nearly seventeen years in fact to the days when Liza was barely four years old. Liza was out with her family looking at one of Cerulean City’s magnificent landmarks, on route 24, The Nugget Bridge. It was tradition to come and see the river bank with all the Pokémon it had to offer after a day of eating some sea food of their own…Liza looked out to the water, sparkling so bright her imagination began to form ideas of sea treasure buried at the bottom.

Ohhhhh, how she would love to venture out in the big bright world and find out for herself how mysterious the land of Pokémon truly was! But without a Pokemon it was absolutely out of the question.

Her thoughts soon interrupted when she heard a small squeal of distress coming from the distance, she turned but saw nothing there, thinking that it might’ve been all in her head she turned away when all of the sudden she heard it again. She faced her family who were chatting about things she didn’t quite understand, she thought about telling them what she had heard but then another squeal sounded, a much weaker one and her my body was no longer hers to control.

She ran as fast as her little feet would carry her, the noise of a high pitched squeal the only thing guiding her. She exited the other end of the bridge finding herself a fork in the road! She worried if she took a wrong turn she maybe too late to help when another squeal grabbed her attention. She took to her left and found when she got there a clearing of a beautiful garden of flowers ready to bloom had been trampled all over, inside finding a Charmander had been cornered by an individual who was dressed in all black with a funny looking hat and white gloves on…

The red lizard looked a bit beaten and exhausted, Liza didn’t think but instead reacted she picked up a rock and threw it as best as she could, making an ark in the air the rock eventually met its mark, striking the back of the guy’s head hard.

“Why don’t you pick on someone your own size!” she screamed with a soft non-intimidating voice.

The guy about thrice the little girls height, rubbed the back of his head and turned…it was now Liza knew who this man was, looking at his shirt that had a giant red ‘R’ sigma Liza froze in fear.

“T-t-team Rocket!” her teeth chattered.

The grunt with his crooked yellow teeth showing through, smiled creepily and muttered, “Why you little brat.”

His attention no longer on the defenseless creature Liza yelled at the poor thing to run, “…get going, get out of here!”

The man rushed at her with the only thing to defend herself with, a stick she had picked up from the ground. She swung it back and forth before the grunt grabbed it from her and broke it in half. She too found herself helplessly cornered, “I’ll teach you what Team Rocket does with meddling kids!” he said.

The little red lizard who was amazed at the little girls bravery, though foolish as it was, couldn't leave, stomping her foot down on the ground hard the Charmander discovered the strength inside to fight. A fiery red aura surrounded the creatures body with her tail burning bigger and brighter; the light was so bright it caught the attention of the Team Rocket grunt muttering an “Oh oh!” before the Charmander engulfed the man in flames!

He ran trying to escape the fire on his uniform. Jumping over the river bank as he hit a rock by diving head first, he floated unconsciously face up in the water.

Liza watched as the Charmander's flames died down to their natural level and Liza sighed in relief, before the little dear collapsed. The little girl ran over to it, holding the Pokémon tight in her little arms as her family concerned for their little girls well being arrived on the scene with an Officer Jenny in toe.

~*~*~

“And that, Chantelle, is how I met Charmander. Officer Jenny arrested the Team Rocket Grunt and we took Samantha to the Pokémon Center to get healed...it took some convincing but eventually my family said it was okay to keep her!”

While continuing on their way thru the friend safari, Liza observed Samantha and wanted to ask her what she thought the meaning of life was. Liza quickly reached for one of the Pokeballs she had hanging from her belt and called out Lucy her Litwick who she would use at times as her mini interpreter when she wanted to hear what her Pokémon had to say. The ball opened up and Lucy came out, smiling brightly at her trainer Mama!

“Hi Lucy could you do me a favor sweetheart?” Lucy nodded and with that Liza instructed Lucy to ask Samantha what she thought the meaning of life was; Samantha looked at Lucy and her trainer. When Lucy asked Sam answered with the simple word, Evolution.

Samantha then asked what her trainer thought about her ever evolving. Liza said, “Do you think you’re ready for something like that, evolution? You’re very strong Samantha and I am 100% sure you will grow up to become the strongest Charizard there ever was. That and you’ll get to chance to choose what kind of mega evolution you’ll want to be.”

Sam looked at her trainer like she was out of her mind, there was no more evolution after becoming a Charizard, she simply nodded pretending to go with her crazy mother’s idea.

As Sam was ready to make a sarcastic remark a white fluff of hair stuck out of the green grassy field, curious the quartette drew closer to it and found a Panda like Pokémon was building something with twigs. Noticing them it turned with it's arms to its side and looked back at them with a stare.

“Ooo...! That's a Pancham!” Chantelle said “Don't worry. Their bark is worse than their bite. Well sometimes it is.”

“Cute!” Liza squealed.

Samantha gave the panda a look as she stood in front of her trainer in a protective stand. While staring down at the panda Lucy interpreted what Sam had to say, “What should we do mom? The panda is looking at me and it won’t stop. Do you think it wants to fight?”

“I don’t think so sweety.”

“Mom it won’t stop staring at me!”

“I know Sam! Use your death stare!!!” Sam turned around and looked at her trainer in a confused and annoyed look. To the Charmanders knowledge she didn’t even know if a move like that even existed!

“What the hell is that move?”

“LANGUAGE SAMANTHA!”

“Well what is that move!?”

“It’s not a move Sam, the panda is simply playing a staring contest with you! Go stare right back at it!” shaking her head Samantha sighed and began walking away, she wasn't interested in a staring contest, she wanted to find an appropriate opponent to battle with, with her tail flicking back and forth she passed by the Panda, Liza looking at Chantelle with an embarrassed smile said, “Well how about we press on then?” before waving goodbye to the Pancham and moving in deeper within the Safari.

Angelique’s Zone: please reply in pink

Electric Blue Eye: Your Gastly and Togepii enjoyed the fireworks as the commencement of the Friend Safari was announced. You looked on thoughtfully at the gathered Kalos natives introduced yourself and wondered who to befriend. You thought about wait but decided to go with your first instinct and approached Angelique who smiled warmly at you especially at the notion of shopping with you after the event was over.

“It’s tres nice to meet you too, you and your lovely Pokemon. It’s always nice to meet another shopaholic,” she giggled to herself.

“Well let’s get going shall we, I bet you are keen to see what Pokemon are in my zone.” She says as she leads you through to a grassy area fenced off from the other zones with a small pond sat in the corner.

“It shouldn’t be long before we see a Pokemon, I bet if we look through the grass we’ll find one hiding,” she offered as you peered into the grass as you walked looking for a hidden gem. Soon you spot something black and white poking from the grass in front of you. As you approach you see it duck into the grass and wriggle away before popping up behind you giggling at its game of hide and seek.

“It seems that Scatterbug wants to play hide and seek with you,” Angelique suggested with a smile on her face.

Ex-Admiral Insane: You need to be careful of self-updating, that last paragraph is full of it. Please only control the actions of yourself and your Pokemon.

After the antics of your Pokemon you could only hope that this little trip would go smoothly. You lose your Absol and notice him pawing at the trousers of Angelique and quickly apologise to her but she smiles warmly at you.

“It is no problem, he is such a sweet and unique Pokemon,” she says rubbing his head. “I see you brought many Pokemon with you today it’s nice to have so many friends. Let’s go and see if we can make friends with the Pokemon there.”

You both walk into a large grassy area surrounded by a wooden fence. You can hear the sound of water in the distance and spot the edges of a small pond.

“You train such different Pokemon my friend, how did you meet them all?” Angelique asks you when you hear a rustling in the grass. Your Pokemon are quick to advance on the rustling and a pink fluffy creature leaps out of the grass and bounces off before hiding behind a rock.

“That’s a Swirlix, it appears rather shy and I think your Pokemon are scaring it, perhaps if you approach it alone?” Angelique suggests as Swirlix peeks from behind its hiding place.

Seakittenyfool: You had only stumbled across this event by chance but decided to stick around and see what it was all about. Your large Abomasnow had accompanied with you as you listened to the announcements, watched the fireworks and pondered your recent jobs. Soon the crowd was thinning around you and you find yourself drawn to the petite Angelique and approach her hardly speaking a word. She spotted you and frowned at your silence before smiling warmly.

“Well hello, you’re a quiet one are you. I guess I’ll have to get you talking so we can learn about one another and become friends,” she says.

“How about we talk as we walk, or at least I will” she says with a chuckle before leading you into her zone. You all walk through the long grasses noticing how you couldn’t see the other zones due to the large wooden fence surrounding the zone. Abomasnow is happy with his new surroundings as you also spot a pond in the distance, it was small and you wondered how it could contain any Pokemon.

“Well your Abomasnow sure is interesting, how did you meet, I’m sure it’s an interesting story,” She notices you looking to the pond and smiles again.

“I bet we would find one of the Pokemon hiding there, how about we have a look whilst you tell me about how you became a trainer,” she says hoping to get you to talk as you walk towards the water. A purple shadow lurks under the surface and you peer closer only to get splashed as the creature emerges and begins to swim gracefully around the rocks dotted in the pond.

“Oh that’s a Skrelp they look a lot like rotten kelp don’t they. Be careful not to get too close though, their skin is poisonous!”

empoleon dynamite: You couldn’t be sure if the fireworks were real or part of the trip you were quite clearly taking right now. You dwelled on the past and how you had given up position and rank in order for a life of peace finding little else to keep you tied to those ideals and yet you had somehow ended up at this unique event. As the crowd thickened around you, you began to realise that you looked a little odd lying on the ground like that. You slowly make your way to your feet and stare at the blurs of people on the stage before wandering over to them looking drunk in your wake. You soon come face to face with the colour of pink and confused brown eyes as she took on your appearance.

“Are you alright, are you sure you should be here?” she asks her voice laced with concern as you struggle to stay up-right. You give her some kind of confirmation and she manages a smile though still worried about you.

“Well if you’re sure, let’s get you in my zone, maybe if we walk a little you’ll feel better,” and soon you were walking through thick grass that appeared to dance around you, the zone was surrounded by a wooden fence that in your state looked much taller than it should.

“So, what’s your name then and how did you meet your Tangrowth?” she asked turning around to face you only to notice that you had taken to lying on the grass. Soon you feel a weight across your chest as something crawls over you.

“Oh, a Scatterbug, well it certainly is friendly to get that close to you,” she said with fascination as the little bug fell asleep on your chest finding it a nice spot to rest.

Allishinca: You stared shyly at the young girl before you as she smiled warmly at you. You didn’t do well meeting new people but here you were and Mint your young Eevee butted your legs hoping you’d show some interaction. Angelique giggles at your Pokemon’s actions.

“It’s nice to meet you too, no need to be shy around me, I’m sure we’ll be fast friends real soon. Your Eevee seems to think so anyway,” she says bending down to pat Eevee on her head.

“Well would you like to follow me through to the back and let’ s see if we make some more friends back there.” She says as she takes you by the hand and pulls you through to her zone. It was a simple set-up, a large grassy field expanded before your eyes and you spotted light reflecting off a pool in the distance. Angelique holds on to your hand whilst you walk and you blush at the closeness, this you weren’t used to.

“So what’s your name and that of your Eevee? What kind of Pokemon are you hoping to meet here today?” she asks as you walk and you move to answer her when you feel something touch your open hand. Looking down you see a little pink ball of fluff holding on to it smiling up at you.

“Wow, this Swirlix wants to join in on the hand holding fun it would seem, why don’t you say hello to it?” Angelique suggests as the pink fluff ball waits for your response.

Byron’s Zone: please reply in brown

Davethefishguy: After seeing the Friend Safari announced on the news you knew that you had to check it out and taking your Trapinch with you, you make your way to the city centre and watch the show. Each of the trainer’s give their speech and explain their purpose here and you wondered if it was too good to be true. They were offering you a chance to meet Pokemon from a far off region right here, right now and even befriend one if you were lucky. You were glad you chose to come and Rincewind helps you make the decision of who to approach. He points a little foot towards Byron who was decked out in black and burgundy and you make your way towards him. He greets you jovially and you explain that you were pretty new to Pokemon training and were hoping to have an adventure today. Byron grins at this:

“I’m sure we give you a small taste of an adventure here today mon ami, let’s get one started right here and now then” he announces as he leads you into his zone. You weren’t to know but all the zones looked pretty similar with a large grassy field surrounded by a brown wooden fence. A small pond sat in the right corner and the water sparkled under the sunlight.

“So tell me mon ami, what dreams do you have for your future and those of your Pokemon as you complete more adventures?” Byron asks as you walk. Suddenly you feel a gust of wind pass over your head and duck as you wonder what could have caused that. Soon a figure flies overhead before landing before you a serious look in its eyes.

“That’s a Hawlucha mon ami, they love to fight and can do so from the air as well as the ground. This one looks ready for battle already,” he explains as you see the bird take a fighting stance eying up Rincewind.

Escalion: With things arranged at home and the thought of new Pokemon on your mind you happily make your way to the gathered crowd. You liked to be prepared and you clutched a paper about the event in your hand as you listen to the trainers explain the event and gave you a show of fireworks. They all had interesting stories to tell and you weren’t sure who to approach but it appeared that Rose your Ralts had made that decision for you. She pointed at the young man named Byron and knowing her intuition was always good you went with her choice. You approach Byron and introduce yourself happy to become friends with the young man. Byron smiles warmly at your introduction.

“Well mon ami I’m glad you chose me, we will be good friends I can tell,” he says happily with a little laugh, “and you have such a cute Pokemon with you too, hello little one,” he waves down to Rose who stands by your side happy with her choice.

“With that Safari Ball you may capture one Pokemon in my zone so let’s go and take a walk and search one out.” He says letting you into his zone. You see thick grass in a long field surrounded by fencing and with a small pond in the corner.

“It may look basic but these grounds hold everything our Pokemon enjoy in an environment,” he explains as you walk through the grass, Rose nearly disappearing in their length.

“You certainly look like you came prepared for anything, is that the kind of person you are, organised and thorough? Do you find that filters through to your training and your choice of Pokemon?” he quizzes you jovially as you walk towards the pond. Soon something catches your eye, it was purple and almost looked like goo, you wondered what it could be. The goo turns around to face you with its dazed expression and Byron gasps.

“That’s a Goomy, it’s quite a rare Pokemon, you were lucky to find one so quickly. They like damp places so its only natural its near the pond” he explains as Goomy begins to wriggle off, it was your choice if you wanted to let it go or not.

swampertforever:After a long train journey you begin to head home when you notice the advert for the Friend Safari and your Pokemon decide for you that this was much more interesting. You have to chase after them as they run off to the city to see what this event was all about. Soon you reach the area where the stage was set and the Kalos natives were giving their speeches and soon zone out. Speeches were not your thing ... or your Pokemon’s it would seem and as the crowd began to dissipate and you were left with the choice of which person to befriend you begin to wonder if you should have paid more attention? Oh well, perhaps their appearance would be enough to help you out and decide that Byron looked the most approachable. The three of you make your way over to him after he had greeted several other trainers and he smiles at you.

“Welcome mon ami, what is your name? What interesting Pokemon you have with you, do you have all three of the Sinnoh monkeys?” He asked genuinely interested. What you were interested in however were new Pokemon and sensing your keenness to get going he chuckles and leads you through to his zone. It looked plain enough not giving you a hint to what kind of Pokemon lurked within. The grassy field was wide and the grass was long enough to hide a Pokemon, the field was sectioned off from the other zones by a wooden fence and there was a small pond in the right corner.

“Well I can see your interested in meeting one of the Pokemon I brought here, anything in particular you have heard of or any particular type you’re interesting in meeting?” he asks as you walk. Soon you spot a Pokemon stood atop a rock in the thick grass practising martial arts.

“Mon ami that is a Hawlucha, a fighting and flying type Pokmon. They’re proficient fighter’s despite their size, it looks like this one hasn’t noticed us yet.” He explains as the Hawlucha continues to train.

enchantress: You stood back from the crowd not taken in by all the showy fireworks and unnecessary glamour added to the event. Part of you questioned the reasoning behind these young children being here peddling their Pokemon away as if they were for sale but a much larger part of you was wanting to partake in something new, a new experience and a chance to meet new Pokemon was something you couldn’t pass up. You listen as each Kalos native gave their little speech and you have to hold back your biting remarks at some of them. There were only two that appealed to you, that appeared down to earth and approachable. You release your little Spinarak from his ball and decide to go and speak to Byron. It appeared you were the last to approach him and he looked a little tired from all the action but happy non-the-less.

“It’s nice to meet you Tess mon ami, I would love to tell you all the stories I have and in return I hope you will grace me with a few of your own. Sharing stories is so fulfilling and a great way to learn about our friends don’t you think?” he asks whilst winking at the little Spinarak on your shoulder.

“We can talk while we walk if you like,” he says leading you through to his zone. It consisted of a large grassy field surrounded by a large wooden fence and did you spy water in the corner?

“Kalos is a wonderful land full of rich culture and fineries, but why don’t you tell me a little about where you live,” Byron suggests as you naturally begin to walk towards the pond. You suddenly hear a gasping noise, something sounded very uncomfortable and you can’t help but to look for its source. You hear Spinarak chitter on your shoulder and he points towards something purple in the grass. As you approach you see the poor creature is looking dehydrated and lost. It looks around with tears in its eyes unable to help itself.

“Oh its a Goomy, they normally stay close to water as they can’t stand to be dry I wonder how this one go so far away from the pond?” The poor Goomy looks to be suffering and could use help getting back to water.

Yvette’s Zone: please reply in purple

Shadowshocker: News of the Friend Safari had reached your base not too long ago and with an interest in the Kalos region and the thought of meeting new Pokemon in mind you decide that it was definitely worth checking out. It was not your first event of this scale but it was certainly toned down in comparison to those you had participated in before. Along with Lestrange your Sandile you watched as the showy stuff ended and the friends all introduced themselves, they were all certainly interesting and it would be hard to decide but one particular girl caught your eye and yours hers. She smiled warmly and you smiled back approaching her as the first of her new friends.

“Well as new friends I think we should venture into my zone together how does that sound?” she asks with a bubbly grin on her face. “And I can totally show you how to work a holo caster, they’re all the range in Kalos, everyone who’s anyone has one.” She grasps your hand and grins down to Lestrange who merely blinks at her as she leads you into her zone.

“I would say you could get lost in here but that would be a total lie,” she grins as you take in the simple surroundings. There are a large grassy field surrounded by a wooden fence and a small pond in the corner.

“So what kind of technology does this land hold, the holo caster is very cool but I bet you have some cool gadgets here too right?” she asks whilst leading you, still by the hand, through the grass. You hear a noise in the distance and stop to listen closely, it sounded like growling. You approach the sound and spot a pair of brown eyes peering at you through the grass.

“Oooh, how wonderful it’s a Litleo, they’re so cute aren’t they but this one looks like it’s ready to pounce on you!” she exclaims and you can see that the little cub was moving its feet back and forth, was it a friendly greeting or a warning to back away?

blazeVA: You too had heard the announcement of the Friend Safari on the news and the idea of meeting new Pokemon from the foreign land of Kalos was too much of a temptation and so you set on your journey to the city where the event was being held. Wanting to put the drama with your Pokemon behind you, you stood in the crowd watching the fireworks explode above your head and listening to the French trainers as they introduced themselves. You had hardly thought about what Pokemon you would bring along with you for this adventure and soon release your small Wurmple hoping to spend some quality time with him. After a brief conversation you eye up the new potential friends and decide to choose Yvette. She beams happily at you as you approach and giggles at your interaction with Francesco.

“Well I don’t think Holo Casters are as popular over here but I’d love to help you get one when everything is done,” she says with a wink.

“For now we’ll just stay close to one another and then we’ll easily communicate, now let’s get going and make new friends” she says punching the air before leading you into her zone. The grass was long and reach up your calves, rustling as you walked. There was not much to look at but you knew within lay hidden treasures, new Pokemon to meet!

“So, you sure do have interesting Pokemon, how did you meet this little one?” she asks as you walk. Soon you see a few sparks fly into the air and are instantly halted in your tracks, there was definitely something over there. You head to the sparks that continue to fly into the air to see a little mouse is the cause.

“It’s a Dedenne and how adorable is this one? And look, it’s trying to absorb electricity from that tree there,” she states as you looked closer at the little Fairy/Electric type. Its tail was like an antenna and it was ‘plugged’ into the tree, it had yet to notice your approach.

Quilavaflare: With a suggestion of something interesting in the plaza from your mother you set out wondering what she wanted you to see. The large crowd gathered around the stage piqued your interest, it must be something good to attract this many people! As you listen to what this Friend Safari you feel your excitement build, a chance to meet and catch new Pokemon, this was definatley worth investigating; you would have to thank your mother later. Your starter stood on your shoulder clawing at it impatiently wondering what all the noise was about. You soon watch as the crowd thins out, each person making friends with one of the Kalos natives and think over who you would choose. You feel drawn to the mysterious Yvette in the corner and decide to check her out. She beams at you and your Pidgey as you approach causing you to blush.

“Hello, hello, it’s nice to meet you both so what are your names? I’m sure we’re going to be friends for life and we’ll have to stay in touch,” she speaks quickly with excitement.

“I can see you want to make even more friends so let’s go round the back and see what Pokemon we will encounter,” she says with a wink before practically dragging you to her zone. There was a large grassy field before you surrounded by a wooden fence and you spotted a pond in the left hand corner.

“So mister quiet, tell me about yourself. I bet your really interesting under all that shyness,” she says with a grin making you blush some. A short while after walking you begin to feel eyes on you and it was making you nervous. You look around and suddenly stumble on a strange looking cat creature.

“Oh another cute Pokemon, it’s an Espurr,” Yvette exclaims, “They’re little Psychic cats and it looks happy to meet you,” she says totally oblivious to the fact that all it was doing was staring at you. It was a little unnerving, it just kept staring un-moving, and she thought it was friendly!

Quickly exchanging names, the pair of trainers and Astral make their way into the simple enclosure studded with fences and a small garden pond. Or rather, get dragged in, shaking up the younger trainer a bit. Regaining his bearings, Evdee is unsure how to answer Yvette's question. It was almost innocent, but what was there to explain? He had expected the whole "friends" thing to just be some sort of advertising trick to get people to feel more welcome. But from what he could tell, these people didn't seem to be expecting profit of any kind.

"Well, I guess there's not really much to tell, is there? Hah..." He explained rather awkwardly, turning to Astral. "We haven't done much yet, but... we were planning on setting out on a trip, just the two of us. We really want to know more about, well, everything, I guess. Perhaps we can eventually even help out my father with his research," Evdee continued, trailing off at the end.

Slightly abashed by Yvette's words, Evdee was a little thrown off as he encountered the new Pokemon, an Espurr. At first, Evdee can do little but stare back into the slightly creepy, beady eyes of the foreign cat Pokemon, paralyzed with a sort of surprise and entrancement. Recalling that Yvette had said it was a Psychic type, he only became that much more nervous. Psychics didn't sit well with him. Could they read your thoughts and intentions? Was this devilish little creature using those big, soulless eyes to peer into his innermost workings right this second!? Or perhaps it knew that he was thinking about it now. At that, he quickly and instinctively tries to clear out his mind, allowing it to cloud over with blankness, while his face scrunches up with apprehension, standing back maybe just a step or two.

Meanwhile, Astral heeds little attention to Evdee's sudden freeze-up, frustrated as she impatiently watches the staredown. After only a moment, she rather boldly abandons her perch to flutter down in the grass lawn and greet the new arrival. Curious, Astral reaches in close to look questioningly back into the Espurr's eyes, letting out a soft coo that seems to be asking something of the new Pokemon. Her head tilts to the side like a curious puppy, almost like awaiting an answer, as she continues to inspect it.

"Astral! Wh-what are you doing?" Evdee whispers rather urgently as his mind returns to Earth, a small sweat bead sliding down the side of his face. The little pidgeon ignores him, continuing to look over the fluffy gray animal with enough curiosity her name might as well have been George. Seeing his own partner interact with the Kalosian Pokemon, and Yvette happily doting over it as well as he looked back, he lets his mind slacken a little. Perhaps he was a little too harsh. Perhaps all Espurr were like this, and maybe he was being rather rude to reject it so immediately for what he saw. It had not shown any hostility towards him thus far, according to Yvette's observation. But no matter what he did, he just couldn't get over those large, pink eyes, as though they were bloodshot or were imbued with some sort of evil power. Maybe it was just he who was making the problem, after all.

"I can appreciate those brave enough to train a Psychic type Pokemon... They must have to keep their minds and hearts open, knowing full well that they can hide nothing from their partner. These Pokemon... if they really can tell what someone is thinking, or even if they can just sense your intentions, surely they must be able to tell if someone goes with a heavy heart or not," Evdee continued to observe, unsure of whether he was talking to his guide or just rambling to himself, trying to relax himself. "And I don't want to run away from that, do I?" Taking one last shaky breath, he slowly approaches the Espurr, joining Astral on the lawn. "H-hey there, Espurr..."

Profile

Wyatt's zone was a simple affair, basically boiling down to what Pest thought of as a typical training area. Pest was unsure whether or not to be glad of this. The lack of cover would make it a simple matter to find Pokemon, but it also removed potential obstacles that could distract them from more uncomfortable conversation.

Sure enough, Wyatt was happy to make a suggestion. “Hey! Let's go over to the pond. Your Croagunk can cool off in the water if it wants.”

Invidia didn't need telling twice. With a loping gait that one wouldn't quite expect from a frog, she raced ahead of the humans and dived into the pond, soaking up the water with her dry skin.

Pest had just begun to grow paranoid that Wyatt had made this one-on-one on purpose, when he turned to another topic. “So tell me how you and Invidia here met. Did you find him or did he find you?”

She winced at that. Luckily the Croagunk didn't seem to have heard, being far too busy kicking through the water with her webbed fingers.

"I found her at the Adoption Center," Pest said, remembering that day well. "She was so alone, so I took her in. I've never regretted it. If only she could believe that, every time I've told her ..." She sighed, moving to brush her hair out of her face dramatically and nearly poking herself in the eye. "There are quite a few Pokemon on my team, but that doesn't mean I don't care for them all.

"And she's kind of a girl," she corrected him, using the tone of voice that she thought would make that statement sound the least condescending. "I can see how someone could make that mistake, though. The stripes around her belly are just a little narrower than they would be on a male Croagunk's, so it's pretty hard to tell unless you're close enough to blow a raspberry on their stomach." She blinked. "Forget I said that."

Fortunately, an explosion saved them. Bits of rock on the stony shore clattered away from the blast of pressurized water. In the pond, not too far from where Invidia was swimming, a blue crab-like Pokemon brandished a claw that dwarfed its twin.

"Oh hey!" Wyatt said helpfully. "That's a Clauncher!"

"Huh. Interesting. A crab Pokemon that isn't orange." Pest considered the possibility of capturing this creature. It certainly looked like it could be powerful ... but her team already had two Water-types who were obsessed with becoming strong. Tiberinus, the hotblooded West Shellos, tended to get in people's faces even when they were minding their own business, so she could only try to imagine how much he would harass someone who seemed to be cutting in on his turf. On the other hand, his Horsea teammate Neptune would probably give the Clauncher a chillier reception. A seemingly wrong move might lead the little seahorse toward sabotaging the crab's chances of happiness.

The possibilities made her wince. She couldn't subject the innocent Clauncher to that.

"I can't," she said, shaking her head. "Catch this guy, I mean. I don't want him to get hurt, emotionally or otherwise."

She abruptly realized that statement could be taken entirelythe wrong way. She really wasn't good at this sort of thing.

"Not like abuse or anything! Sometimes my Pokemon have rivalries. It isn't always fun. Except when it is. Oh, never mind. Invidia!" Pest called, though hopefully softly enough not to startle the Clauncher. "We're moving out in another direction! You'd better catch up if you don't want to get left behind."

A streak of water marked Invidia's swift return. The Croagunk grumbled slightly at the teasing remark, but it was clear she had enjoyed herself for her brief stay at the pond: her skin shone wet and healthy in the sun.

Pest looked back at the Clauncher for a moment and smiled. Even if she wasn't going to catch it, she could admire the crab's insistence on training itself. She hoped that soon someone would be able to take it in and help it reach its true potential. If she somehow ended up facing it again one day under that trainer's tutelage, she would be content.

"Well go on then my dear," James said lovingly as he placed the Togepi he had on top of his head on to the grassy field, "It seems the Scatterbug wants to play hide and seek."

"Toge?"

"You know…hide…" he said before vanishing from sight and reappearing right behind the egg shell, "& seek!" he grabbed her with his ghostly hands, tickling her which caused Serena to giggle a bit.

"Go play my sweet heart, Papa will be right here."

"Toge, toge, togeprriii~!"

Ethan smiled as this little exchange went on, he had been so busy with other things to look after the base and his Pokémon. He didn’t need to worry about everyone else, just Serena. Being one of the newest members to join his close knit family, he wondered how she was adjusting until he noticed James had completely fallen for her Charm.

The smile soon ran away from his face however as a thought entered into his mind, a recurring question that he had been meaning to ask his ghost but never felt right to ask...

"James-" Ethan said as his Gastly looked away from the Togepi who began searching through the blades of grass for the bug type.

"Ethan…what is it? The look on your face, you look rather sad."

"James, ever since we met that night I died and came back…I’ve been meaning to ask you a simple question but I’d always felt if I asked it would change the dynamic of our partnership."

"Well," the Ghost laughed a bit, "How will you know that if you don’t ask."

The young man sighed before whispering so it would be out of the ear shot of Angelique, "James. How did you die?"

James did the same as he responded back, "That certainly is the question of the year isn’t it? Well, for you to know that, you need to understand who I was before I became a spirit…when I was very much alive, I had a wonderful family, a wife any man would kill for, intelligent, funny, and a smoking hot body. I also had a little girl that would want to spend time with me when I’d get home from work and listen to my boring stories, we would watch TV, play and laugh. To say my life was perfect would be an understatement…but nothing is always as black and white as it seems to be…with my line of work…," James sighed, "I was a hit man for the mob. My job was to take out anyone that needed to be gotten rid of. By any means necessary. I was also the mob bosses right hand man, and he made sure my family was well taken care of…the problem with cleaning up everyone of his messes meant eventually I needed to be taken out as well to make sure of completely secrecy." James took in a deep breath, "When I arrived home one night, I discovered my family had passed away in a car accident, at the time, the police were in the mafia's pocket and with no eye witnesses, the case was eventually dropped." James then looked at his trainer eye to eye, "But see I didn’t need to know who had ran my family over a cliff. I marched right up to the big boss’s mansion, storming his body guards with everything I had. I was no longer human by the time I showed up there, how can someone live without their loved ones by their side? I eventually made it to his office where he would seat smoking his cigar, his back was turned to me as his backyard lay in flames. I yelled with all my anger, ‘FACE ME YOU COWARD!!’ with a loaded gatling gun ready to shot hundreds of lead bullets into his body, I approached him but it was only a dummy, the door I had entered from quickly shut, the windows covered by a protective steel plating and the room quickly filled in a gas like toxin…"

"James...I didn't know, I'm sorry..."

Silence filled the atmosphere as James took a moment to reflect on his past, "I made a lot of errors in my life, endangered the family I loved all for what? Wealth and security, but here’s the thing, there’s no such thing as security. When I found you that night, a ghost yourself I had already spent a good 50 years wandering alone, you reminded me of my daughter, innocent and full of joy; the world had yet to get to you. I tagged along for the ride, looking at Serena she too has the innocent, happy nature we all have but lose at one point," He said looking at his darling Togepi again as his trainer was still just focused on him. "I’ve moved on from the tired sad individual I once was, and await the day I leave this world and meet my family again in whatever beyond there is…but for now I’m happy just where I am and for that I'm eternally thankful."

"And we're happy that you're here with us." The trainer smiled before ducking down next to his Togepi, "Need a little help Serena?"

"Toge, toge, togpriii!"

Out of the range of colourful individuals Shadow had come across in his journeys he couldn't remember anyone as excitable and friendly as Yvette, or her other friends. The way she happily described her homeland and held the scientist by the hand felt... there was no easy way to describe it other than a strange mix of ease and discomfort. Could this be what most people might term as a date? Shadow briefly remembered how some of the others had reacted to their hosts; Lestrange simply plodded on without so much as a glance. Briefly Shadow observed the surroundings; the so-called Safari was a lot smaller than the name otherwise suggested, but considering the whole project was mobile, it at least guaranteed portability. The artificial habitat looked convincingly wild, and it was clear that considerable effort had been put in to make this an event for large numbers of people. Then Yvette brought up a query, giving him an opportunity to focus on a thought.

"Technology, hm. Well, where I came from we had a space station on an island city, and a few cities away from where I used to live there was an institution dedicated to weather control theory," explained Shadow. "Personally, I try to jury rig some of my own gadgets. I have an idea of synchronising a Staryu with a video camera. Though, I guess it's nothing special compared to what I've heard about Kalos; I heard the capital has - "

In mid-sentence the twosome and Sandile were interrupted by a disturbance, and ahead a brown mammalian quadruped declared its presence, which Yvette quickly identified. It was a particularly lively specimen, and at Yvette's suggestion that it was about to lunge, Shadow took a couple of steps back. Lestrange likewise crept backwards a little, eyes thinning at the Litleo and issuing a low hiss. Maybe it wanted to battle, maybe it wanted to play, but... Thinking back on the rules, Shadow had to evaluate: was this the Pokemon from Kalos he wished to befriend and recruit?

"I'm terribly sorry, Yvette," he apologised after a moment of mulling. "But I'm afraid I don't quite have the affinity for this little one. Would it be alright if we moved on? I'd like to see what else lives in your enclosure."

Angelique’s Zone: please reply in pink

Electric Blue Eye: You give your little Togepi permission to play with the Scatterbug and she trills happily before placing her stubby little arms over her eyes and counting. Scatterbug peers from its hiding place and squeals happily before shuffling off to hide somewhere new. Whilst the two play you converse with your Gastly James asking him the burning question on your mind. Angelique listens to you talk with interest finding the story most intriguing.

“You have been so much and yet you have embraced your new form I applaud you young Gastly,” she says smiling warmly. “That was such an interesting tale I have heard nothing like it anywhere before thank you for sharing it.” She says hoping that you didn’t mind her overhearing. You turn to look for Serena who was giggling happily and searching amongst the grass and behind rocks looking for her target. Scatterbug appeared to be much better at this game than her and you offer to help her out and she trills happily. Together you search the zone slowly and carefully wondering where Scatterbug had gotten too when you spot a black and white form hiding amongst a flower bed. Serena toddles forward and pats it on the backside and Scatterbug giggles moving out of its hiding place. It smiles up at you and waited for you to make the next move.

“I think it wants to know if you want to play another game, it looked like it had a lot of fun with the last one?” Angelique suggests.

Yvette’s Zone: please reply in purple

Shadowshocker: You can’t help but feel a little out of place walking through the grass with Yvette holding on to your hand in such a friendly manner. You suppose this is what it would feel like to go on a date and that thought alone brings a flush of colour to your cheeks. You answer her question honestly and talk about what technology you knew about and she listens intently nodding her head vigorously but not letting go of your hand.

“Oh my gosh, you make your own gadgets, that’s so cool. When we’re finish here perhaps you can some me some of them.” She gushes really glad you had chosen her as your friend now. Shortly after you spot the Litleo and watch as it prepared to pounce, in either a friendly or vicious manner you weren’t sure but there was one thing you were sure of, this wasn’t the Pokemon for you. You inform Yvette of this and she pouts before smiling.

“That’s okay, I'm sure there is another Pokemon here that will catch your eye and instantly become your friend like we have. Well then shall we go and check out the pond then?” she asks whilst she practically moved you out of the range of the pounce as the little lion misses and goes rolling through the grass. It picks itself back up shaking the fall off and casts you one last look, growling as it does so before skulking off. Lestrange watches this all unblinking and slowly starts to follow after you.

It doesn't take long to reach the pond and you look into the waters wondering what treasure’s lay beneath. There sure were a lot of rocks in this pond and one of them appeared to move ... is that even possible? Suddenly a pair of odd looking claws with faces emerge from the rock and you look shocked by the strange Pokemon.

“That’s a Binacle, not as cute as the last Pokemon but it’s good at hide and seek looking like a rock. They move about by hopping along with their rock like that,” she explains as Binacle starts to lump itself forward rather ungracefully towards you ... you were certainly attracting the Pokemon today.

Quilavaflare: The little Espurr had caught you off guard and its eyes appeared to bore right into your soul. Vyette appeared unaware of your state of mind as you stare right back at the cat a little afraid of its abilities, was it reading your mind? You stand still for a long time just staring back at it know that you wouldn’t win this stare off.

“How cute that you want to try and win a stare battle, good luck to you,” she states oblivious to the fact that you were creeped out and frozen because of this. Astral has enough of you standing still and flies off your shoulder to land before the kitten. Espurr shifts its attention to the Pidgey and begins its stare off with the bird but she seems to be unaffected ... unlike you! You panic and ask what your Pidgey could be possibly thinking but Astral wasn’t worried, it was only a little kitty after all. She coos at it and Espurr stares back unblinking. You begin to question your reaction, you wanted to brave didn’t you? No you needed to brave, if you couldn’t handle the stare of the little Psychic Espurr how could you ever hope to train and tame larger more deadly wild beasts. You swallow your fear and trying to keep your voice from quivering you greet the Espurr who suddenly turns its freaky stare back at you and you shiver a little but don’t freeze up like last time.

Espurr considers Astral’s question and thinks it over before answering in a sort. Its purple eyes glow a horrible red as it Leers at Astral the Pidgey suddenly feeling a little less brave than before.

’Show ... me ... brave,’ an odd voice echoes in your mind, was it Espurr?

“It seems that the time for staring is over and Espurr wants a battle, is that what you want?” Yvette asks as Pidgey shakes in fear from the nasty Leer attack.
