Just got back from Reading Festival, expect a large post once I'm not feeling half-dead.

"Tessellate" - Alt-J

The album this is on (An Awesome Wave) won the Mercury music prize... last year? I want to say last year. Really good. "Something Good" and "Breezeblocks" are my other two favourite tracks from the album, although the whole thing is pretty good.

I just listened to the entirety of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "The Heist" because I had heard it was actually a great album.

So, I actually really do not like rap music. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this, having only heard "Thrift Shop" before. But let me tell you, man, I was blown away. Was not expecting what I heard. Emotional, powerful, fantastic songs. The man is a poet. His music is *mostly* about real problems and real world issues, with very few objections (Thrift Shop being one of them). One song almost had me in tears because you could hear the pain in his voice as he rapped, and it was something I hadn't heard from a musician in quite a long time.

Highly recommend this album, even to those who aren't typically fans of rap music. Like I said, I personally do not like 99% of rap music, but this album is easily one of the best albums I've listened to in a long, long time.

You can hear it in its full here

So I've started trying to find at least one decent band a day because my various playlists are getting a little stale (not updated them in a while). For yesterday and today, we have;

The Paper Kites (St Clarity, Maker Of My Time)

I Heart Sharks (Summer, The World Is Yours)

White Wishes (Hold Your Hand, Happy and Afraid)

So Pogo came out with a remix that was debuted on the official Pokemon YouTube channel. I heard it on the official channel because I follow Pokemon on FB, thought it fit his musical style...and was right

He's come a long way since being Fagottron.

Link but I'm pretty sure it's US only.

Try this instead if didn't work, Pogo's channel link

Relistening to Repo: The Genetic Opera. Great stuff, everyone should give it a listen (or better, a watch).

Indulge the teenage emo!

Man it amuses me how much of that sort of thing I listened to in my early-mid teens.

Where is my second sequel? T_T Goddammit. This game was a masterpiece of story, song, and (for its time) visuals.

I love you Stu.

Well, Drake excepted. Still don't see the big deal with him.

Really need to go on a spree at HMV at some time. There's a load of albums out by artists I saw at Reading that I need to get.

I'm glad we're on the same page then~

Except aw man, Drake is so cool~ D:

He really won me over with Marvin's Room. Which is an amazing song. But I digress.

Drake has some fantastic beats, but when it comes to lyrics theres a thousand other rappers with more skill in their little finger.

Just a couple of things i've been listening to practically non-stop:

Flying Lotus - Tea Leaf Dancers
FloFilz - Sippin (Instrumental)

Hey, Kuno. I heard this remix of the song from Johto's Ice Path on an episode of Extra Credits just now. Figured I'd pass it along to you. If you want to check out the remixer's site, the remixer's site, it's here, but I forget whether you've seen February 2013 spoilers for Gen 6 or not. (Preeeeeeeeeeeeeetty darn sure that most human beings have at this point. ^^; ) If you have not, then don't click that second link. First one's fine.
