Lucario Excelsior's Recorded History

EXCELSIOR

Aeons ago Excelsior was discovered by Elysians during one of their many seafaring expeditions to find new lands to barter with. Relations between the two continents were so successful that many of their people traveled between the two. When Elysia erupted into war the Excelsians tried to help restore peace, but failed. Enraged that a foreign land would dare interfere, the Avatar of Darkness travelled to Excelsior to destroy them. Upon hearing of his plans, the Avatar of Light rushed to stop him resulting in a large magical war between the two which escalated into a surge of energy so powerful that it tore at the very seams of the fabric of time. Excelsior is now caught in a time rift, its location never changing, while the continent itself moves from one period of time to another. The Excelsians don't seem to mind the strange people and Pokémon who appear in their land every so often, and happily welcome them all. Exactly how long Excelsior has been drifting from one age to another is unknown as the calendar is of no importance in this mystical land which travels through time for all of eternity...

*NEWS HEADLINE * NEWS HEADLINE * NEWS HEADLINE *

The recently discovered land of Excelsior is creating news headlines around the world. It is rumored new Pokémon as well as those long extinct have been sighted in this region, causing much curiosity from trainers across the globe. Almost a continent on its own, the reason for Excelsior remaining hidden for so long is still a mystery sparking much debate over its origins. Excelsior's inhabitants are said to range in background, from those who seem to live in the past, to the more futuristic colonies whose way of life is out of this world.

The land is diverse, yet beautiful. A self-sufficient continent where one can live a lifetime without any contact from the outside world, which is perhaps why it has remained undiscovered for so long. Though a witness claims that Excelsior simply "appeared out of nowhere" one day, most believe the reason it has remained so isolated is because of its nautical position and the reluctance of its inhabitants to venture off land.

The only way to access Excelsior is by water, so if you don't have a Pokémon with Surf you can travel to the island with the Celestial Cruise ferry, "Arctic Breeze", which is making three trips per day to Excelsior's Neptune Cove. Once ashore, you can make your way into any one of Excelsior's many wonderful areas.

Areas

Neptune Cove: A small cove situated at the far end of Neptune Beach where the Arctic Breeze Ferry drops off all trainers visiting Excelsior.

Neptune Beach: A mile long stretch of beach whose chalky white sands radiate the brilliance of the crystal clear waters surrounding Excelsior.

Aspen Forest: An icy woodland where some ice types reside. The chill air, and sometimes snowy conditions have allowed grass types who live here to develop a natural resistance to the cold.

Mt. Sierra: A volcanic mountain chain where many Ground, Rock and Fire types thrive. The mountainsides are sometimes unstable, particularly after an eruption, leading to rockslides as well as the appearance of some of the more powerful Pokémon residing in the area.

Rainforest: A forest spanning through the valleys of Mt. Sierra. The heat from the volcano has caused the temperature to rise, creating a tropical atmosphere.

Phantom Desert: A large desert where many mysterious happenings occur. At its very centre sits the rotting remains of a pirate ship. Some even say that at night, she travels the dunes with her phantom crew...

Sapphire Lake: A large inland lake, its water the colour of sapphires. Many water types reside here, while many more roam its banks.

Mirage Island: Somewhere on Sapphire Lake, it is said this island only appears at very special times. Some say it is the "heart" of Excelsior, and that some of the rarest Pokémon of all live here.

Bethla Meadows: Crystal like glitter covers this enormous field giving it a slight glow that attracts all types of Pokémon.

Re: Excelsior

The appearance of Excelsior welcomes the arrival of Diamond and Pearl Pokémon into Fizzy Bubbles. There is no telling how long it will stay, for the time rift it's caught in is sure to see it disappear at any given moment.

D/P Pokémon may be caught here, others will swim, fly or migrate off the island to randomly appear in FB zones before Excelsior disappears.

With Excelsior being such a random event, this will be a rapid fire update zone meaning updates will be one or two liners so that updaters may get through multiple updates at a much faster pace. Replies must still be up to par though - no shortcuts. You're only replying once as opposed to updating multiple people in one go so there's no excuse for slacking off with replies.

For now we welcome Excelsior to FB, so make the most of it because tomorrow it may be gone...

Re: Excelsior

Ricco had always wanted a Sinnoh Pokemon. With the news about Excelsior appearing, this was his chance. His first stop was along Sapphire Lake. He gazed out into the beautiful sight. Wondering what Sinnoh Water Pokemon he might find.

"Right!" he said. "Kaio, come on out!"

The pokeball opens up to relase a Swampert as he cries out for joy.

"You ready, buddy?" he asked. "This is going to be our best adventure yet!"

"Swampert!" he cried out.

The two of them walk along the edge of the river. They have yet to see a water type, but the thought of him getting one sparked Ricco for a while now.

"Kaio, let's go a little further into the lake." he said.

Kaio jumps into the water as Ricco goes in to rest on Kaio's back. The two of them set off into the water as they wonder what mysteries await them.

Re: Excelsior

"Holy Fucking Shit, Batman!" screamed Joe as he approached the strange place known as Excelsior. "Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have said that so loud. Meh, still." Taking a Pokeball from his belt, Joe threw it to the ground, and in an explosion of light, a Munchlax appeared, ready to KILL. Or eat. Whatever he felt like doing. And noticing that his map was now missing and inside Munchlax's mouth, Joe had a good idea which he was in the mood for.

"Right, Munchie, it's time for you to finally do something. Sorry about the last 3 months. When I bought you I had no idea you'd just be sitting doing nothing," he lied, "but finally! An adventure! Come on, let's see what we can find." And picking up Munchlax, with much difficulty, Joe proceeded to run off, looking for something fun.

Sorry for the swearing. xd Edit: Woops, forgot a destination. xD

Re: Excelsior

A few days back Rayne had heard from a good friend of his about rumours of a new place located off the shores of Fizzy Bubbles. While at first he was certain it was just another island to adventure, he soon changed his mind when he entered a bar later that day. The rumours he heard were astounding; new species, people stuck in a time rift and many other farfetched tales. At that moment he knew he had to visit it. There was no way Rayne was going to miss out on a dventure such as this. After getting rough directions he went to bed, stoked about his new adventure.

The very next morning Rayne found himself on a beach; the one the people told him was the quickest route to Excelsior. He released Cascade his Sharpedo into the still, dark water. The shark swam her ritualistic three circles and swam up to the shore.

"So we're going to a new place Cascade. Excited to give me a ride again?" He asked his shark who was still trying to figure out why they were leaving so early. Regardless they set out, Cascade groaning slightly as Rayne mounted, before blasting off rapidly into the early morning horizon.

***

Some time later they found themselved looking at the mysterious new land. Upon hitting the shore Rayne thanked and recalled Cascade. And then unclipped another pokeball before and releasing his Rapidash.

"Allright Mesmenir, I heard a lot about the Rainforest, so let's go there shall we." After his long ride on Cascade he didn't want to mount Mesmenir, but knew it was the fastest way, so he did anyway. The pair quickly kicked off and sped towards the location Rayne had heard so much about.

Re: Excelsior

Gary was excited. He had heard about this magnificent newly discovered world that had many ancient secrets, and at once, he knew he'd have to explore it. He was standing at the beach on the opposite shore of Excelsior and hurled his Dive Ball into the wake. "C'mon out Aero, we're gonna go for a swim!" Alredy wearing swimming trunks, Gary hopped onto the Mantine's back as he appeared out of the ball and emerged from the water.

Aero gave a quick "tine!" as Gary pointed in the direction of where the island was said to be, and held on as the two sped off. Aero bounced off the waves like a jet ski, occasionally going for an extended glide in the air, as Gary whooped, "Yee haw!"

After a bit of this, they finally reached the beautiful island and it's sandy shore. As they pulled up to shallow water, Gary hopped off Aero's back and gave him a gentle rub on the head before returning him to his ball. "Thanks bud, I appreciate it." He then reached in his bag and pulled out a makeshift map he had drawn on a napkin from what he had heard when he was told about the island. Already having figured out where he wanted to go, Gary pointed at a dot on the 'map' which was labeled "Mirage Island." He then pulled out another pokeball and released his piratey little Aipom, Scurvy. Scurvy hopped up to Gary's shoulder and grinned at the sight of a mysterious island. "Arr!" he chanted, and Gary laughed. "C'mon little guy, we're gonna go explore Excelsior, you in?" Scurvy nodded vigorously and the two headed toward Mirage Island.

Re: Excelsior

Surveying the beautiful landscape before him as he arrived at Excelsior, Zora wondered which of his companions would be best to join him on his adventures. Looking down on the six balls attached to his belt, he picked out a regular Pokéball, and tossed it in front of him, the red light morphing into the shape of a small teal Bug. "I've been badly neglecting you, Pineco." Zora told his companion, who looked up at him, ready for some action. "But who better to capture my first of these new Pokémon with, than the first Pokémon I ever caught?". Not one of the most vocal of Zora's Pokémon, Pineco remained silent, while the happiness in its eyes made up for its lack of other facial features. "Right, where shall we go then?", Zora continued. Pulling out a map, he looked over the different areas of the island. "I think Sapphire Lake would be a good choice, don't you?" Pineco hopped up and down a bit, which Zora took as enthusiasm. "Lets be on our way then." he finished, setting of for his target, Pineco bouncing along behind her master.

Re: Excelsior

For those of you updated by me, please reply in orangered.

Neptune Cove

Sylar: Arriving at Excelsior's Neptune Cove, you don't have any clear idea in mind as to where you'd like to go as you're more interested in adventuring with your new little Munchlax. Struggling a bit, you lift him into your arms before half running, half stumbling into your adventure. You've barely reached Neptune beach though, when out of nowhere a strange looking Pokémon with enormous front teeth rushes in front of you, tripping you over. Spitting out a mouthful of sand, you stare up at the Bidoof who is rolling around on its back, slapping its belly heartily while laughing hysterically after watching you fall...

Rainforest

Dark Fire: Mounting Mesmenir upon arriving in Excelsior, you immediately head toward the rainforest. The ride is long and tiresome, and upon reaching the rainforest you decide to take your time, carefully looking around to see the sights. The forest animals don't seem particularly afraid of you, and are in fact more curious than anything, wandering out from the refuge of the shrubs to take a closer look at the stranger traveling through their home. You see several Zigzagoon, Sunkern and Caterpie in the immediate area, some Mankey sitting on the trees branches above along with a few Pidgey, Taillow and Starly, but what has your attention right now is the foul adour drifting toward you from a little stunky who doesn't appear very happy with the fact Mesmenir almost crushed its tail...

Sapphire Lake

Jonouchi: Wasting no time in heading for Excelsior's Sapphire Lake after arriving on the island, you decide to head out onto the water rather than wait around on shore. Hopping onto Kaio's back, the two of you make your way out into the middle of the lake. At first you don't see much other than a few birds flying overhead, but then something small and pink catches your attention about 20 metres to your right, floating on the water amidst a group of Psyduck who appear to be lazily floating on the water's surface...

Sandaa: Having heard tale of a mysterious island that appears every so often upon the deep blue waters of Sapphire Lake, you head straight toward the area to see if you can find it. Looking across the smooth surface of the massive inland waterhole, you wonder where and how Mirage Island appears. Hoping you'll find it so that you may explore, you're distracted from your thoughts when two beady little eyes appear in the water before you. Startled, you step back only to find a Hippopotas emerging from the water, rather curious as to why a trainer with a little purple monkey sitting on his shoulder, is standing by the edge of the lake...

ZoraJolteon: With Pineco as your companion for your first adventure in the strange new land of Excelsior, you head toward Sapphire Lake. Once there, you find the beautiful water mesmerizing, its sapphire blue depths clearly the reasoning behind its name. Walking by the side of the lake, you notice some movement to your side and look to see a little pink creature with a leaf on its head bouncing toward the lake. Cherubi then stops by the lakeside to take a drink from the refreshing, cool water...

Re: Excelsior

Rivka heard through the proverbial grapevine of the appearance of a rather mysterious land that appeared out of nowhere one day. Eager to satiate her curiosity, she donned her snorkeling gear and took her Pokemon with her, hanging on to her Seadra, Akari, though taking care to avoid the sea dragon's venomous fins. Her Pidgeot, Hayate, soared above her, carrying her backpack which was packed full of necessities for the adventure. As she was pulled through the water, nearing the vast continent, images of what she might meet there raced through her mind. One particular sight that she wanted to see was the Sapphire Lake, whose name alone sounded like a beautiful sight to behold.

The trainer momentarily stuck her head in the water, watching the undersea menagerie interact with each other. She could have sworn she saw something that she never saw before, but couldn't quite tell nonetheless. Still, she admired the shoals and reefs that flourished throughout the seafloor.

She then resurfaced, and anticipated boarding the new world. Akari seemed similarly interested by the way she sped up as Excelsior neared.

[[Extended for effort's sake.]]

Re: Excelsior

Kaya gasped as she watched the news headline about a newly discovered place named Excelsior. It was rumoured that extinct and pokémon never seen before roamed there. Immediately, she was full of determination. "Right, time for an adventure to Excelsior" she stated boldly to herself. Releasing her Blastoise, Kamaji. Kaya nudged him, "Its time for a new adventure Kamaji!" she said excitedly. Kamaji scratched his stomach and yawned loudly, before Kaya poked her tongue out at him.

Going to the shore, Kamaji waded into the water before Kaya hopped onto his shell and the two sped off. As they reached the shores, Kaya leaped off Kamaji and immediately scanned the environment. It was gorgeous. Kamaji walked out of the water, pantign heavily. Smiling, Kaya returned the weary Turtle for a well deserved rest. Reaching for a Pokéball on her belt, she released her Gligar named Maduin. The young Gligar immediately swooped up into the sky before coming back down to rest on Kaya's shoulder. "Gliii!!" he shouted, feeling very proud of his stunt.

Kaya giggled before saying, "Well Maduin, this is it. A new adventure with new & rare Pokémon. I think we'll head to the Bethla Meadows.." Maduin nodded and clapped his claws together as Kaya began to walk in the direction of the Bethla Meadows.

Looking through the water, he sees a group of Psyduck floating in the water. Ricco yawns as he doesn't want Psyduck. He didn't come for them. But something else catches his interest when he finds a floating pink thing in the water.

"Hey Kaio." Ricco began. "Go a bit closer to that Pink thing within the Psyduck."

"Swampert?" Kaio asked.

"Trust me, it'll be fine. If anything goes wrong, just use Bullet Seed. After all, these are all Water Pokemon, right. Bullet seed might do a number on these guys."

Ricco looked at the Pink thing in the water.

"Besides, how bad can that thing be? Better yet, what exactly could that thing be anyway?"

Kaio moves a bit closer into the water, hoping to find the answer. Ricco and Kaio both wanted to see what it was. It could be a new Sinnoh Pokemon they've been wanting!

As Joe picked himself back up, he stared at the strange creature standing before him, otherwise known as a 'Bidoof'. Deciding it would be the perfect opponent for his young Munchlax, Joe summoned Munchie forwards, and whispered orders to him.

"Okay Munchie, it's time for your first battle. Start off by using a Defense Curl to pump your defenses, then follow up with a Tackle. Finally, let loose with a Metronome. Hopefully, fate won't screw us over," explained Joe, and Munchie nodded, and turned to face the Bidoof with a determined look on his face, which caused Joe to produce a big smile on his face, proud of his little monster.

"Hmm. Shall we attack it?" Zora wondered aloud, observing the Pokémon going about its business peacefully. "Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind." he stated. "Pineco, Cherubimon would be much better off in the safety of my possession. Out here it is at risk from a sudden attack by an enraged Darkrai. Lets wear it down then get ready to capture it. Start off by using your Dig attack to sneak up on it, then as you come back up above ground, unleash a barrage of Pin Missiles! Finally, strike it with your Double-Edge!" Having not been in battle for such a long time, the moral abiguity of the situation was lost on Pineco, who staring down her foe prepared to execute her trainer's commands.

"Celes!" Cyrus called to his faithful Chikorita. "What do you think about this?"
"Chika~aa" Celes frowned. Her furrowed brows were scrunched up -- she didn't know what to make of this unbelievable find.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing," replied Cyrus. "It does seem a little dangerous, but ... who knows what we might find if we go? I mean, we can't pass this opportunity up, can we!?"
"CHIKA!" Celes shouted back to her trainer. She was just as excited as he was to explore. She just ... had her misgivings about the whole affair. But she agreed with Cyrus: there was only one way to find out!

And so Cyrus boarded the Arctic Breeze with his faithful companion in tow, stowed away in her PokéBall. He had no idea what he would find when he reached Excelsior ... only that something was nagging at him ... he still was trying to figure out whether the news was real or just some elaborate hoax. Skeptical, he saw the island-continent coming into view.

"Alright," he thought, "let's get ready." And taking a deep breath, Cyrus disembarked with the other passengers at the cove. "Our destination is ... hmm, the map says it's called 'Mt. Sierra'? The news report mentioned a tropical rainforest in the valleys ... we'll be sure to find something interesting there!" And leaving the other passengers to their own adventures, Cyrus dashed across the sandy beach, heading for the distant volcanic mountain ...

While riding through the thick forest on the back of his mare Rayne got the chance to look around the shrubbery and the odd plants that grew here. What he was actually looking for was a sight at some sort of new specie of pokemon. After a few minutes, Rayne heeled his Rapidash three times, telling him to slow down a bit so he can have a more detailed look at this place. Mesmenir willingly slowed, and soon Rayne began noticing the tell tale signs of life. Scurrying amongst the bushes, birds singing and various footprints could be made out in the lush ground. Finally some pokemon make an appearence, the regular forest pokemon sticking their heads through the thicket to get a look at the trainer and his escort. And there, finally, sitting on a low hanging branch he saw it; a Starly. The men in the bar went into great detail about the common pokemon that could be found in Exclsior. And this avian was one of the best described.

Before he could really take a closer look though another pokemon grabbed his attention. A small skunk like pokemon who didn't look all too pleased at almost being trampeled. Not too sure how to intepret the foul smell emenating from the small pokemon. Carefully and slowly he pulled one leg over Mesmenir's back and dropped to the forest floor.

"Hey little guy." Rayne said softly, kneeling about 10 feet away from the skunk. "Mesmenir here is really sorry he almost stepped on you, we were both a little preoccupied. He really didn't mean any harm. I can prove it to you if you'd like, just tag along side us for a while and you'll see." Somehow he knew this was not going to work, and that this pokemon would rather fight a large horse than parley with a human. Turning around slowly he walked over to Mesmenir and pretended to smooth out the fur on his neck.

"Listen," He whispered quietly, so the Stunky wouldn't hear. "If this pokemon wants to fight, the we'll have to fight. Use an Agility to dodge in case he attacks." Rayne then bent down and pretended to clean out the horse's hooves. "Then use Flame Wheel and Double Kick if he continues to fight." With a smile he got up and smiled at the skunk, who still seemed bitter. Thinking about it, Rayne laughed inwardly at his naive proposal.

Re: Excelsior

After an uneventful ferry ride Stu had finally hit the land of Excelsior (assuming we just start getting off the ferry rather than having to actually go on the ferry). Stu quickly glanced around, being rather surprised by what he has heard about Excelsior...featuring Pokemon he may never of seen before. The prospect of possibly new Pokemon he had never seen interested him greatly, so he was smiling happily as he walked along the land trying to take in as much as he could while he was here because he knew he would start travelling as soon as possible. "This place is like totally awesome....girlfriend" he quickly added under his breath trying to decide where he should go. "So many places, so little time...why can't this be easier?"

After a small debate within his head he reached into his pocket and brought out an Ultra Ball. "Like go!" he said as a beautiful white light appeared before him, slightly bracing himself as the Pokemon he realised had little environmental experience, not to mention it tended to creep out any friends he visited in bases. The light vanished leaving a round orange Pokemon with various rocks sticking out of it in the shape of a sun, of course this Pokemon Stu knew to be Solrock. "Hey, Doomsday...where should we go today?" Stu asked cheerily waiting for a response from his dear pal. The Solrock remained silent, probably thinking up some comment about wherever they go, the world will end so it doesn't matter, but Stu couldn't be too sure of this.

"Fine whatever Dooms, but listen up. If you don't like it, tough luck. Let's go to the Bethla Meadows!" Stu shouted pointing dramatically into the air ready to start his adventure.

Startled, you step back only to find a Hippopotas emerging from the water, rather curious as to why a trainer with a little purple monkey sitting on his shoulder, is standing by the edge of the lake...
Gary gazed at the plump little sandy brown creature as it waddled out before them. He exchanged a look with Scurvy, wondering as to what it could be just as it had been wondering who the human and monkey were. Gary reached for his pocket and pulled out his Pokedex, which he had downloaded a new component to just before arriving here to accomodate whatever new creature he might find.

As it scanned the creature, Gary continued watching it. "Hippopotas, eh? Well you look like a friendly little critter," he smiled, slowly inching up to it. He didn't have any intentions of opening hostilities to it yet, as he wanted to get to know this creature first. Scurvy hopped off Gary's shoulder and waved at it as well with a big smile on his face. "Hi there, I'm Gary, and this is Scurvy!" Gary explained, waiting to see what the Hippopotas would do.

Re: Excelsior

"Should've just took the ferry," Oscar grumbled - not that Tsunade could hear him as she plowed onwards through the waves. He was stood on the back of his Feraligatr, clinging to one of her huge red scales that loomed out of the water, as she surfed towards Excelsior. It wasn't the smoothest of rides to say the least, but Oscar tried his best to grit his chattering teeth as another spray of sea water hit him in the face - every droplet feeling like a hailstone against his cold cheeks. The salt had encrusted around his eyes which stung as he opened them, but through the blur he could make out that they were nearing their destination. "Come on Tsunade!" he yelled over the roar of the surf as renewed enthusiasm surged through him. She didn't need telling twice, and with a powerful thrust of her rear legs that nearly knocked Oscar off his feet she hit full-speed as the pair roared towards the strange island.

Just as she reached the shallows Tsunade stood up sharply, sending Oscar flying headfirst into the sand with a yelp. He rolled over and scowled at his Feraligatr who seemed to be grinning, showing her large teeth, then stretched nonchalantly as she disappeared back into her pokeball. "Funny," Oscar spat bitterly as he clipped the ball to his belt and got to his feet. Replacing the Dive ball instead with a grubby Premier ball he tossed it open, calling Enma to his side.

"Best behavior, OK?" he stated as he waited for his Primeape to survey his new surroundings. "I don't know what we'll find on this island.. or what might find us. So no running off." Enma scratched his head but didn't seem to disagree, which was the best Oscar ever hoped for when reasoning with his rampant Primeape. "Want to go fight some new pokemon though?" he added with a smirk. Enma screeched and began beating his fists excitedly into the sand. "Yes? Let's go then," Oscar grinned as he ran past his Primeape, who turned and quickly gave chase.

Re: Excelsior

As Jess stopped off the ferry and onto the continent of Excelsior, she stopped to survey the extraordinary landscape before her. This place was certainly beautiful; amazing how an entire continent like this could be completely lost to time. Even more fascinating, she'd heard that Excelsior was home to a variety of Pokémon species, many of which had never been sighted before in FB. Although she wasn't really looking to capture any new Pokémon on this trip, she was interested in witnessing such a rare event with her own eyes. And who knows? Perhaps she might run across something that appealed to her.

"Let's see, then. Where shall we go, Kief?"

She addressed a small raccoon-like Pokémon who was sitting by her heels. He looked up at the girl with round, glassy eyes, his pink tongue barely visible as he panted slightly. He barked loudly, then grinned and wagged his tail gleefully. Apparently he didn't much care where they were headed for, as long as he got to have some fun while they were there.

Jessica checked the map she had acquired aboard the ferry. Since she wasn't seeking out anything specific, she decided she might as well head to a place where she might see all kinds of Pokémon. A wide, open space would be preferable, so Kief could simply run around and play if he wanted.

"Bethla Meadows, that sounds like a good place to start," she decided. Glancing at her Pokémon for approval, she received it in the form of a wide grin. Jess smiled, then the two of them set off in the direction of Bethla Meadows, eager for some exploration.

Re: Excelsior

It hadn't been very long ago that a buzz of rumors had cut through the circuit of trainers back home at Fizzytopia, prompting a vast migration of eager adolescents and their beloved partners through rain, sun, and sleet, over the ocean, by way of boat or the very backs of the Pokemon they held so dear. Kris had proven uninterested at first, but after so many of her friends had blown off responsibilities for sake of a 'new land', she herself had grown intrigued, even though, in the back of her head, something said it just WASN'T a good idea to cross the sea for the unknown. She vaguely recalled a similar tale, and it ended with the mass murder of thousands upon thousands of indigenous people, commemorated by way of a grand feast every year in which folk gave thanks for all the crap they had robbed from the rotting corpses and decimated land of said people.

Of course, this wasn't that kind of unknown. That kind of unknown involves two year boat trips, dysentery, cramped quarters, and oppressive English rule. No, this was the pleasant type of unknown, with two-hour ferry rides, snacks and punch, and free maps. This was the GOOD kind of unknown.

So, it was with this (flawed) logic that Kris departed the ferry, nose stuck so deep in the aforementioned complimentary map that she could barely see where she was walking, her faithful blue water-beast Zuu on her heels.

"Right, so..." Kris began, smiling down at Zuu. "I know you're looking forward to hitting some waterways, but I was thinking..."
"...Eeeeon?" Zuu cocked her head, already suspecting disappointment in the near future.
"I was thinking...lets hit Bethla Meadows instead, yeah? It seems SO enchanting in this pamphlet, I'm SURE we'd find something interesting."
"...Por." Oh yeah. Disappointment. Still, Zuu reckoned that she had at least gotten her share of the sea during the ferry ride, and would probably get more on the way home...she supposed she could let her trainer have her way, just this once. "Vapor."
Kris grinned in return, hair in her eyes. "You're a doll. Bethla Meadows it is."

Re: Excelsior

Neptune Cove

Sylar: Bidoof is still to caught up in hysterics to pay any attention to your reaction, therefore missing the fact that Munchie is already preparing to retaliate. Pumping himself up with Defense Curl, Munchie then launches himself at the beaver-like Pokémon who suddenly isn't finding this situation so funny anymore. Picking itself up, it stares at Muchie before retaliating with a Tackle of it's own....

Rainforest

Dark Fire: Stunky appears to be considering what you're saying for a moment until it hears you issuing attacks to Mesmenir after which its expression quickly changes to one of mistrust. Seems this little ones hearing is better than you first thought. Stunky moves in to attack you, Mesmenir quickly responding with Agility to get between the two of you and taking Stunky's scratch to the bottom of her leg, right above her hoof. Flaring up with fiery power, Mesmenir becomes surrounded in flames before attacking Stunky with Flame Wheel, the little skunk responding by releasing a Poison Gas which Mesmenir can't help but breathe in. While she inhales the toxic fumes, she kicks out at Stunky with Double Kick, knocking it in the gut and winding it pretty badly. Stunky fights on though, lashing out with another scratch and slicing deeper into Mesmenir wound...

Sapphire Lake

Jonouchi: Deciding to approach the group of Psyduck to take a closer look at the pink thing in the midst of them, you're surprised to see it is a small Pokémon known as Shellos. It appears a little shy when first seeing your approach, and turns to flee. If you have any hope at all of catching it, you're going to need to get through all of the Psyduck in your way...

Sandaa: Attempting to befriend the little hippo, it stares at you for a moment rather warily. It is then you notice the uncomfortable expression on its face as it charges out of the water and begins to shake itself off as though its trying to rid itself of some terribly clingy germs. It stares back and the water, a shudder wracking its body, before walking up to you then turning to face the water. Looking back and forth between you and the lake as though trying to tell you something, your gaze pans back out to the lake where you see a Buizel bobbing in the water, glaring at you both. Not quite sure what the story is here, you have the distinct impression this little Hippopotas wasn't in the water because it wanted to be...

ZoraJolteon: Convinced that Cherubi will be much better off with you to look after it, you find it only natural it's in the little grass types best interest to beat it senseless. Pineco obediently follows your instructions, digging into the earth beside the lake then tunneling closer to the little Pokémon who is distracted whilst drinking. When close enough, Pineco shoots up and out of the dirt, unleashing a barrage of Pin Missiles upon her target. Cherubi squeals with fright, leaping into the air and spinning around to face its attacker. Frowning when seeing Pineco, it quickly realises running isn't an option and so heads straight in for a Tackle only to be met head on with Pineco's Double-Edge. Ouch...

Re: Excelsior

For the people in my group please reply in Deep Sky Blue.

Sapphire Lake
quilava plush: As you arrive at Excelsior you begin to see all the water around in complete amazement as you change your glance towards this newly discovered island with a very interesting past. You then start to make your way to your destination, Sapphire Lake, as the sandy entrance to this amazing place starts to fade quickly as you get deeper into the island. A few hours after your arrival in Excelsior you begin to see something bright blue that resembles water. As you get near it you begin to realize you've arrived at your destination, Sapphire Lake. Quickly looking around the banks of this beautiful lake that stretches further than your eyes could see you then hear some rustling behind you. You turn only to see some bushes shake slightly as a small orange furret like pokemon appears in front of you. "Buizel?" Looking a little confused it then shifts to attacking position as he takes a closer look at you. What will you do?

Bethla Meadows
Shinjara: As you reach Bethla Meadows you see it sparkle completely under the sunlight, emitting a light glow that gives the field an almost dreamy feeling about. As you start to walk around in the grass of this amazing place you see the blue sky with Taillow packs flying around chirping. You continue walking until you then suddenly almost trip. A little shaken you turn to look at what almost tripped your and see a Glameow hiss angrily at you where you once stood. What will you do?

Mt. Sierra
Xuande: You hear the ferry horn go off as you reach the island in front of you that you've been hearing so much about in those news stories. As you get off the ferry you then decide to go to your destination, Mt. Sierra. After walking with your companion, Cyrus, for a while you then see the mountain that you've been eyeing all this time closer than ever. Beginning to feel the temperature change drastically than that of what you felt when you first got here you then realize that you are closer than ever to Mt. Sierra. You then begin to see the rocky layout of the mountain right in front as you walk into it you suddenly see something move to your right. You look at it before realizing it's actually a hippo trying camouflage in its surrounding. The large pokemon comes towards you after it notices you and begins roaring, "Hippo-potas!" and then quickly sends a jet of dirt towards Cyrus who dodges the Sand-Attack. What will you do?

Ricco moved a bit closer to see the Pink Shellos pop up from the water. His eyes filled with joy, it was so cute and so "Zora-demanded-it-from-him"-y that he wanted it. Sadly it runs away. Ricco goes after it, but the Psyduck block the path.

"Kaio, I say we go after that Shellos and catch it!" he whispered in his ear. "Use a Muddy Water to bust through all the Psyduck. If that's not enough, use a Bullet Seed to assist you. Whatever you do, just go after that Shellos! Don't bother defending against the Psyduck at the moment. Focus only on the target at hand."

"Swampert!" Kaio said.

Swampert moves into action as he speeds toward the Psyduck.

"Hang on, Kaio!" Ricco said. "This could get rough!"

Re: Excelsior

It seemed only yesterday that she was on a ship just like this, but this time she was heading somewhere entirely different. The day was warm, the sun inviting and Stacey sighed as the cool sea breeze rushed over her skin and ruffled her hair. As many before her and those others present on the ferry named 'Arctic Breeze', they had heard rumours of a strange new continent appearing from seemingly out of thin air. Being a curious person herself, even though she was more calcutaing and cautious she couldn't resist the urge to travel there before it disappeared into the aether once more. A grin appeared on her face as the shore line appeared on the horizon growing ever larger. It felt like forever since she had travelled somewhere new, this was going to be an experience indeed.

An hour later the Ferry reached a small cove on the continent weighing down anchor. Stacey looked on as the excited trainers rushed off to explore; she decided to hang back a little and wait for the rush to pass. Walking down the steps of the ship a small yellow and brown pokemon followed behind her, unoticed by the others at first. Stacey's feet touched the sand and she felt them sink just a little, the sea lapping at her black boots, her grey skirt long but not long enough to get wet. The pokemon following her leapt off the steps and onto her shoulder grinning. Stacey sighed and rolled her eyes carrying him out of the water beofre dropping him onto the sand giggling at his reaction.

"I'm not carrying you the whole time we're here Zabini," she stated interupted by her Drowsee who shouted 'Thats "The Great Zabini"'. "Great Zabini she said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice that went unnoticed by the jolly Drowsee, beaming at his stage name. The duo walked off the sand and approached a small notice baord. Peering down to look at it Stacey could see a map there. Zabini was asking her to read out the place names to him which she did, pondering over which sounded the more interesting to visit first.

"Well Zab," she said recieveing a glare for the nickname, "I know what I think is a good place, what about you?" she asked him the Drowsee quickly dropping the glare and putting a yellow paw on his long nose in thought.

'Mirage Island' he said looking quite pleased by the magical sounding name.

"Really, that place, well you know I thought there was this other locaiton that sounded so much more to your liking, has a magical aura simply surrounding it."

Zabini looked intrigued by this and leaned in closer to hear what she had to say.

"I suggest we go to the Phantom Desert, although it sounds spooky, the very idea seems magical, it would be a good place for you to practice your magic," she said looking with honesty at her Drowsee. The dream eater pokemon seemed to consider this, thinking off the all the magic tricks he could learn with his trainer by his side before he grinned and nodded his head.

Stacey grinned back, "Okay then, lets head off to the Phantom Desert," she said following the directions shown on the map, her Drowsee happily half walking half bouncing behind her. She couldn't believe that he fell for that, she would have to train up his Psychic Skills more, she thought with a chuckle.

Watching as the Bidoof came flying towards Munchie, Joe had to think quick. "Okay Munchlax, just before Bidoof makes contact, use another Defense Curl to try and lessen the damage. Hopefully it'll work. After that, strike back with a Metronome, and hope for the best!" ordered Joe, before turning to look at the Bidoof who was gaining ground every second. Almost instantly, Munchie turned to face his opponent, and without any hesistation, prepared to use Defense Curl. Meanwhile, Joe was staring at the Bidoof, not taking his eyes away from the strange, gormless creature. "Hmm, I wonder why it tripped me up like that before? Maybe it was just bored. Meh, no use thinking about that now, I need to concentrate on the battle," he wondered to himself, in an attempt to make a certain text a bit longer in length. Cough. Quickly, he looked towards his Munchlax, and watched the battle unfold.
