My resolution not to procrastinate, alongside like 5 other resolutions, was resolved in like December. Is that procrastination? Fuck.
Most of my "resolutions" are traditional, but ongoing aka I made them back in October and have been sticking to/adding/removing resolutions as time goes by, like some kind of homonculus made of hopes and dreams. So I won't cover those. These are my actual, New Year's resolutions.

The only resolution I could ever hope to keep (I thought of it at 2:52 in the morning which makes it the only real one):

I was going to try and list things but then I saw Talon's again and was reminded that I actually really love this and the "be better do better" mentality is always something to strive for. So yeah.

Just been lurking this thread and decided I'd like to set my resolutions into stone. Also may as well update on my two year old resolutions...
Quote:
I did have my first long term relationship in 2015 (we're almost 12 months strong) and it's been an amazing learning experience. I think it was a pretty superficial resolution though in hindsight - so all my 2016 will be more about personal development rather than external sources of happiness. For this year Learn Japanese at a beginner level. I made the mistake of visiting Tokyo this month with next to no Japanese speaking skills. I'm keen to do a full tour of the country in the next year or so so I want to be fully prepared. Learn Spanish at an intimediate level. I'd also like to travel to South America in the next few years, and as I already know a fair bit of Spanish - I'd like to take this to a conversational level. If there's one thing I've learned while travelling, it's that us English can be really lazy with language, so I really don't want to be tarred with the same brush. Learn to drive. I've been putting this off for years as there's always been a better use for my savings. I Figure now is a great time. Get a promotion at work and/or move on to a better paying job. I'm currently on an entry level wage in my dream career, and up until now I've always been more experience than money-driven. That being said, all of my major desires (car, more travelling etc.) would hugely benefit from a comfortable wage. Save enough money to travel again. I'm currently in my final month of a 3 month tour through South East Asia, Indonesia, Australia, Fiji and Japan. [I've blown almost two years worth of savings but all I can think about is my next trip! I don't expect I'll be travelling again by the years end, but I'd like to get saving as soon as possible.

Hrm. Didn't post here last year... or the year before... or ever... but all of those years were the same: resolution was to lose weight.
For the first time since I can remember, that's not my resolution this year. Resolutions: - Pass sight exams (Greek and Latin) - Develop skills that are useful outside of academia, in case I decide to pursue other options (specifically, publishing) - Get over [BIG BAD THING] constructively Here's to 2016. Hopefully you don't suck hard. |

I can't believe I've let this build up for so long - it literally couldn't have been easier. Brought it up and my parents couldn't have reacted it any better, no awkward questions, nothing, just hugs and happiness.

Hmm.. well, might as well take a crack at some of these this year.
-Get a job. -Draw more (Drew four pictures this year, so this one should be easy enough). -Keep my grades up (A's and B's *crosses fingers*). -Keep my anxiety under control. -Prepare for college and apply to some. -Get a 33 or higher on my ACT. -Get into a school out east. -Maintain my weight if not decrease it. -Hit TL7 -Win a Gym Match We'll see how this goes, I suppose. |

I'm trying to get away from new year resolutions but I got so much stuff I should take care of I think it would be a good idea to set some goals anyways.
