Saw it. It's pretty good.

Generally agree fully with Loki's good, bad and ugly post. Would add that it's very good that VII is not Sci Fi; it's space opera just like the original and that is what Star Wars should be in my view. Would also add that Leia was shit overall; yes the Han stuff was great but her role in thenfinal cut was basically to stand there, say slightly sad things and occasionally sass people. Why is she not being a badass? Finally would add that it's good that we don't really know what's going to happen next. You can predict and foresee a lot of potential but actually VIII could go a lot of ways.

Also, Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen confirmed for Jedi master.

Having seen it 4 times I quite enjoy it, better than the prequels imo. Wont go into depth cause the essay I would end up writing would be a only a long brick of text

I wouldn't mind an essay if it's well written.

I only just saw this, but I get the feeling that Leia will have a bigger role in Episode VIII alongside Finn and Poe Dameron. At least, I hope so. I'm honestly a bit more curious about this side of the plot than what's going to happen with Rey and Luke.

Force Awakens introduced zero iconography to the SW canon. I think that's big evidence in it being nostalgia ruminated through Millennial small intestine than an honest effort at a sequel.

John Williams' score was also legit bad. He was still competent as recently as 10 years ago (which is not recent), but I was almost rooting for the music to not be handled by him because it was so inconspicuous.

Just wanted to link this.

Star Wars: Jedi Knight came out in 1997, and for whatever reason, I feel like it's one of the last true Star Wars games, since it preceded the release of Phantom Menace and the retconning of much of the franchise. Yet, with that cutscene direction, it feels more Star Wars than even Force Awakens did, despite not featuring much of the plagiarism of Force Awakens. It's effectively dark and imposing despite not featuring the violence of Force Awakens, too.
