Ashs EXP
Why is it that every damn time ash enters a new region he acts like a damned N00B? In the B/W anime he threw a pokeball at a pkmon without weakening it.......he did the same thing when he was STARTING OUT IN KANTO. I mean srsly?

The writers for the anime nerf Ash and Pikachu in every new region so he doesn't immediately dominate. Bugsy and Falkner, for example, had to be beefed up in the anime because Ash waltzed in as the Orange League Champion and had a lot of powerful Pokemon at his side which were gradually replaced. Doing this gives the writers a lot more flexibility for episodes of the day and character arcs and whatnot, and allows them to prolong the story.
It's Ash's fate to never become a Pokemon Master, never age beyond 10, and never retain what he's learned in previous adventures. Frankly, with the sheer amount of experience and power Pikachu has, it should be able to solve the world's energy crisis. We can stop relying on fossil fuels like boiled down Aerodactyl if we just switch in Pikachu.

Writers in ignoring logic to increase the interest and longevity of the series shocker!
What fun would it be if Ash entered new leagues with all his old talent and his legendary beating Pikachu destroying everything in a single hit everytime?

It would be nice if Ash got to the Elite Four in Unova. The BW anime is very different from prior anime incarnations, so it's possible we might see something that isn't just a rehash of Indigo and Orange's formula.
Pikachu will never become a god-killing mass of electric holocaust like it should be, but it should scale up against a powerful opponent, if only because it would have to stand alongside Sceptile, Charizard, Infernape, Snorlax and Donphan.

... maybe RETIRING THE CHARACTER? People were saying this back in 2001 about the Johto anime's foibles, and I feel it still applies as strongly now as it did then: Orange Islands probably should never have happened and Ash should never have been the star of the show past Kanto. He should have been Red (period), we should have seen the story sticking a little closer to the games, we should have seen him make it to the Elite 4 and, realistic or not, we should have seen him make it all the way to the champion, Gary. Yes, it's pretty unbelievable that two ten-year old boys could be the regional champs, but the precedent was already set in stone by the games the show's supposed to be based off of so it's not like this would have rankled the fanbase any. So Ash starred in Johto anyway. Fine. But then he shouldn't have been the star of Hoenn. It should have been May, and instead of bullshit contests, she should have been a trainer. Too bad that didn't happen. (Yes, contests in the anime aren't that bad. I'm just lamenting the fact that Ash booted Brandon and May out of the star spot.) Well, surely we'll get a fresh start in Sinnoh? *sees male hero's character design* Okay, never mind. -.- It's obviously going to be Ash again. Then we made it to Unova and I'd pretty much given up on seeing them retire Ash. But that's really what ought to have happened going back so many years now: retire the poor bastard, winner or not, at the end of his region's story. Let another boy or girl star in the next region. The problem was never Ash, though: it was Pikachu. The reason we're stuck with Ash is because we're stuck with Pikachu. You can't just have every protagonist have a Pikachu sidekick: you either have to have the balls to write art and not rehash the same character over and over or else you have no balls and all you care about is your bottom line / wallet. And that's fine too: you just have to clearly decide what side you're on, art or profit, and run with it. We pick art. They (naturally) picked profit. And the result is we're stuck with Ash and Pikachu even though we long for a more natural (artistically-speaking) narrative.

Ash was born with a brain tumor. Every time he leaves an area, he has a seizure off camera and forgets how to Pokemon.

which is unlikely when you consider some of the crap that anime writers have spewed out in the past
