I have to say, I quite like it. Just be careful not to make it look like metal, though.

You also might want to be a bit more conscious of contrast; it works well with lighter colors since contrast isn't quite so apparent, but darker colors are going to make lights stick out a lot and darks blend in. The streak on John's pants, for instance, sticks out a lot, and the streak's on Equ's jacket hardly do at all.

I really like the scheme though; it's unique and kinda fun.
