bird1111: Pushing your anger with the boys to the side, for the time being at least, you know you can't afford to dwell on it when both you and Pidgey are in such big trouble. Pidgey may have the type advantage, but Heracross is definitely a couple of steps up on the moves, especially considering there isn't any way for Pidgey to perform his Sand Attack, meaning you're going to have to strategise in order to win this. Not taking your eyes off Heracross for a moment, you quickly instruct Pidgey on what you believe to be the best course of action before standing back to watch the two battle it out. Taking advantage of the fact that Heracross has little room to move, Pidgey comes zooming in to attack, crashing into the bug type from behind with quite a powerful Tackle. Heracross is knocked off balance, but not for long, digging its claws into the truck to avoid falling. It Leers at Pidgey, but fortunately Pidgey is still moving quickly and the leaves block his direct line of vision negating the effect of the attack. You can still hear the boys below, mostly laughing at the predicament you've found yourself in, but thankfully the leaves and branches are blocking their view of the majority of the action which at least gives you some comfort. Losing is one thing, but having them witness your defeat seeing as they're the ones to have led you into this, is another.

Heracross has lost interest in you now, choosing instead to try and keep Pidgey in its direct line of sight so as to not be caught off guard again. Unfortunately for Heracross, the battleground is a tree and its opponent a bird, so with branches and leaves being an unwelcome factor, it's not having a great deal of luck keeping track of its opponent. You also notice that several Combee are sitting in the upper branches watching the battle unfold, and you briefly wonder what they'll do after this is all over. Regardless of whether you win or lose, you're sure they're not going to allow either you or Heracross anywhere near their honey. This is irrelevant now though, as defeating Heracross is your first priority. Pidgey continues to circle the tree, zigzagging through the air to try to confuse and disorient Heracross, which only makes the boys laugh harder as they believe Pidgey to be avoiding the battle. You know differently though, and when Pidgey finally comes speeding in for a second Tackle, are pleased to see that Heracross is now in trouble. Once again hit from behind, Heracross is unable to keep its grip this time and falls onto a lower branch. Pidgey, seeing an opening for a risk free attack, wastes no time in Flying in to strike it while it's down. Heracross has taken quite a beating this round so it shouldn't take much more to defeat it. Unfortunately Pidgey is also looking quite tired so the sooner he can finish Heracross off, the better...

Bird sees Pidgey successfully hit Heracross with the first tackle, and is pleasantly surprised by how close Pidgey came to knocking Heracross off the branch. He then sees Heracross try to scare Pidgey with a Leer, and sighs with relief when the move fails. He then sees Pidgey successfully knock Heracross off the branch with his second Tackle and grins, as the battle is going his way now that Heracross wasn’t able to stop his moves so easily as it had before. He then sees Pidgey successfully strike with Fly, which means that his plan worked. Thinking about what to do next, he notices that Heracross is looking like he could be finished off soon, but however, Pidgey is looking tired.

After thinking on it some, Bird decides on his orders for the round, and he calls out, “Pidgey, great work so far! Give it a pair of Tackles aim them away from its claws and horn.” As soon as Pidgey finishes trying to carry out his orders, he gets as close to Heracross as possible without putting himself at risk and pulls out a Pokeball (1 of 3) and throws it at Heracross, hoping to catch it.

bird1111: Heracross is looking pretty beaten, but if anything this has only strengthened its resolve to fight. Pidgey once again tries striking the bug type from the back, but this time is met with a Horn Attack to the chest when Heracross spins around to face him. Heracross isn't finished though, using its horn to swing Pidgey around and into the tree trunk and then pin him to it. Pidgey squawks up a storm, for the amount of pressure Heracross is placing upon him is painful to say the least, and Heracross, having Pidgey right where it wants him, is in a perfect situation to finish the little pidgeon off once and for all - in more ways than one. Fortunately for Pidgey, Heracross is distracted when it notices a Pokéball in your hand, and as it turns its head to look your way, allows Pidgey just enough room to slip out of its grasp. Pidgey takes off, circling around the tree and then flying straight back in as hard and fast as he can, ramming the bug type in its side with a powerful Tackle and knocking it off its branch. Heracross falls, hitting its head on a lower branch and effectively knocking itself out. Level up for Pidgey. Without missing a beat you throw your Pokéball at Heracross and watch while it's sucked inside. With the KOed bug being in no position to fight for its freedom, the capture light turns green in an instant signalling your successful capture of the Lv.2 male. The Combee who are still sitting in the treetop, thrilled to pieces to see their enemy defeated, approach you. The largest one comes in closest, touching the jar you're still carrying and turning in the direction of the honey, signifying it would like you to come up and take some. This should prove interesting. You've not only defeated and captured Heracross, but you're now going to be able to return to the boys with both the Pokémon they thought you'd never beat and the honey they didn't expect you to get...

Your capture of Heracross has unlocked your rights to the Egg House and secured your release from the Arcane Realm. Upon replying to this update you're free to post in all areas of FB, so bye bye and good luck. Have fun out there in the big wide yonder.

Bird sees Pidgey successfully hit Heracross with the first tackle, but gets worried when he sees Heracross hit Pidgey with a Horn Attack. His worry only increases when Pidgey is pinned to the tree trunk, as he doesn’t want to lose his partner, especially not this early. Realizing that he is probably going to have to try to catch it to save his partner, he takes a pokeball out. However, Heracross sees the Pokeball and reacts by letting go of Pidgey, much to Bird’s relief. Pidgey then moves in for a second Tackle, succefully KO’ing the Heracross. Bird then throws the Pokeball at the Heracross, and to his relief, successfully catches him.

Bird is then surprised and concerned when the Combee approach him. However, they do not attack, in fact the largest one comes in closest, and touches the jar he’s been carrying all this while, and then the Combee points towards the honey, indicating he should take some. Bird grins when he sees this, and takes the honey, knowing that not only did he catch the pokemon that the teenagers catch the pokemon they never thought he would catch, but he also got the honey too.

Bird then climbs down the tree and then waits for the teenagers reaction, hardly succeeding at keeping a grin off his face.

Cyprus treaded carefully over the dead underbrush, trying (and utterly failing) to not make any noise. He may as well be treading on glass, he thought. The trainer's eyes scanned the area, searching for a way out of the dense fog. He'd just left Jubilife City not but moments ago, and already he'd gotten himself lost. It was strange, however, that Cyprus had never seen this particular graveyard so close to the city. You'd think that after living there all your life, you'd know the place better. He shook his head, no... this is obviously penance for not getting out enough.

A sense of dread and unease settled over the trainer as he walked deeper into the graveyard, until Cyprus couldn't stand it anymore. He reached at his belt, grabbing the lone Pokeball attached to it, and gingerly tossed it in front of him. His new partner, Ralts, emerged shivering. Immediately he felt bad for the poor Pokemon, as he remembered that Ralts could usually sense the emotions of their trainer. Cyprus tried to calm himself down, hoping to spare the poor creature of his own distress. From the looks on Ralt's face, he was already scared enough as it is.

Cyprus knelt beside his small partner, trying to encourage it, "Sorry to bring you out in such a spooky place, Ralts, but I could really use the company. We'll find a way out of this place together, okay?"

The Ralts nodded slowly and began shuffling alongside its trainer, gently clinging to Cyprus's pant leg.

The Graveyard - Please reply in silver

Cyprus: Great RPing, but the majority of the first paragraph needs to be scrapped for the reasons pointed out in my PM. Other than that, excellent job

Leaving Jubilife City for the first time in your life, you choose to venture way out of your comfort zone and into the little known land of the Arcane Realm. Being unfamiliar with this continent you soon find yourself lost and alone in the middle of a chilling graveyard situated on the outskirts of the rural town of Mediville. The scent of freshly cut grass fills the air as your gaze sweeps across row after row of headstones lining the neatly trimmed lawn. Bouquets of flowers dot the odd grave, a reminder that even those who are lost are never forgotten. Darkness is descending and, as the last hues of twilight settle beyond the horizon, a light fog begins fall over the cemetery. A sense of dread and unease is gaining a firm hold upon you as you walk deeper into the graveyard, so you unclip the lone Pokéball hanging at your side and release your starter Pokémon, Ralts, to keep you company. He shivers, the action not entirely due to the cold, as he can sense your anxiety and is becoming rather distressed himself.

Ralts is sure to stay as close as possible while you wander through the graveyard, and the darker it gets, the more nervous you both become. The fog is getting thicker, the cold really beginning to sink into your bones, which only adds to the spookiness of your surroundings. After about half an hour you hear the faint sound of lively music and wonder where it's coming from. Being the middle of a cemetery, at night time no less, this hardly seems the place for such a festive tune. Curious, you walk closer to the sound and before long can hear raucous laughter. Someone, or several someone's from the sound of it, is living it up out here, but who would do such a thing in the middle of a resting ground designated to the dead? Finally you notice a dim light ahead, a chill creeping up your spine when you realise that it's coming from inside one of several crypts, and you can't help but wonder who would be morbid enough to be throwing a party over the coffin of a dead Pokémon. Part of you wants to get out of here as fast as possible, but another part of you is curious as hell. To investigate or not to investigate appears to be the question, so you look down at Ralts to try and gauge how he feels about it...

"Ralts," Cyprus tried to whisper, but his voice failed him. Taking a deep breath, and swallowing the lump in his throat, he tried again, "Ralts?"

His partner looked up at him, obviously distressed at the situation. The poor Pokemon was beginning to shiver slightly, remaining firmly at his side.

Cyprus pointed in the direction of the dim lights and eerie music, "People shouldn't be here, Ralts. A graveyard is a kind of sacred ground for people, and I imagine Pokemon too. It's..." he gulped once more, "pretty spooky out here, but I think we should tell whoever is in there to leave."

Ralts nodded silently in agreement, beckoning Cyprus to follow him. As the creature began shuffling towards the crypt, Cyprus marveled at the Pokemon's tenacity. He didn't think something so small and timid looking would even take a second look at a situation this spooky. The trainer made a mental note of this, deciding that he should never underestimate his Pokemon.

Ralts stopped suddenly, and Cyprus barely kept his balance as the Pokemon pointed at the entrance to the crypt, which was now about fifty feet in front of them. His Pokemon then changed course, zigzagging throughout the gravesyard until they were out of direct line of sight of the crypt. Carefully, both Cyprus and Ralts rounded the corner, poking their heads into the crypt.

Ryan let Mudkip down and tried to see the land far ahead of him. He then took out a Heavy Ball which he received from his Starter Pack. He wanted a Pokemon to occupy it and then give him the permission to leave the Arcane Realm once and for all. The very thought of it made him shake his scruffy hair in confusion, a sight at which Mudkip laughed. Ryan smiled at the little Mud Fish and took out his Pokeball. With a simple click of a button, Mudkip was sucked inside the Pokeball. Ryan kissed the Pokeball and attached it to them his necklace where it would be kept safe and sound. However, Ryan had other goals in his mind. He wanted to become the best trainer the word has ever known. The fact was that it was quite a cliched goal. But this fact did not deter him at all.

As both of them were reaching closer to the well-populated village, Ryan began to think about the life that surrounded him. He knew about the basic 'predator eats prey' thing, but was there more to life than that. Could there be a mystery much bigger than that? Perhaps a secret which could change the face of the whole world if it was revealed! However, Ryan was rather confused by this unusual thoughts? He then stood there for some time. Some sort of feeling in his body was telling him to stay and collided with his consciousness. Puzzled, a huge sweaty face-fault appeared on Ryan's face. However, he decided to continue on his merry way. He threw Mudkip's Pokeball down and the young Mud Fish emerged from it. Mudkip looked calm and quite, ready to go. Ryan smiled at him.

"Are you ready, little guy? Ryan asked Mudkip with a smile on his face. Mudkip jumped with excitement and turned to Ryan.

"Mud!" Mudkip answered with a smile and hopped onto Ryan's shoulder. Both of them giggled and continued their journey, ready for a challenge.

Links to Members List posts please... Neither of you have posted a signature that include team stats so I'm going to at the very least need a link to your Members List posts in order to look up information regarding your trainer or Pokémon details if and when needed. Please remember that more often than not ZA's / ZO's are updating multiple people from various Home Boards and can't be expected to manually search out those details for each and every updatee. While there are only the two of you here now, which isn't a major issue, it's best to start getting into the habit of providing those details as a common courtesy to your updator.

Mediville - Please reply in lemonchiffon

Ryan Rosona: Wandering along the long and lonely dirt road leading into the farming village of Mediville, your thoughts wander toward your goals for the future. As is the wish of many a starting trainer, you want more than anything to be the best trainer the world has ever known. The fact this will take you many years, as well as a lot of time, energy, money, and effort, is absolutely no deterrent, for if others have done it then there's no reason you can't either. Releasing Mudkip, you watch while the little Mud Fish Pokémon materialises in front of you. Mudkip looks around, blinking his little eyes in wonder while taking in his surroundings. To be starting out on his very first adventure is exciting to say the least, and he does not hesitate for a moment to bound up the path toward Mediville with an excited bounce in his step.

While you walk you can feel the temperature dropping, the approaching stormclouds doing very little to lift your spirits. They don't seem to bother Mudkip at all, but considering his natural affinity with water that's not altogether surprising. You find yourself hoping you'll reach Mediville before the storm breaks, also scanning the countryside for somewhere to stop for cover in the event you're caught in the coming rain. The last farm you'd seen was some five miles back, and while there is a run down old farmhouse just ahead you're not quite sure you like the look of the rickety old place and hastily pick up your pace so that you're not forced to take shelter there. Unfortunately the storm has no intention of waiting for you, thunder rumbling threateningly overhead, and within moments the downpour begins. Knowing you really only have two options, to continue on in the rain or to take shelter in the spooky old farmhouse, you're going to have to decide quickly which path you're going to take...

The Graveyard - Please reply in silver

Cyprus: As though you don't have enough to worry about considering you're wandering around a dark and spooky graveyard, you're now finding yourself confronted with the disturbing discovery of several mysterious party goers who obviously find it highly amusing to be living it up inside the crypt of someone's beloved Pokémon. The simple fact this is an utterly distasteful, not to mention disrespectful, act, is enough to prompt you to approach the crypt. You're not sure who is in there, but the very least you can do in all good conscience is to ask them to leave. Ralts agrees and leads the way, the courage he's showing filling you with pride. Brave or not, Ralts isn't about to take any chances, zigzagging his way closer to the crypt by using the headstones for cover. When you're finally close enough to see the crypt a little better you notice that it's made of white marble, the faint light coming from the slightly ajar doorway giving the marble a kind of ghostly glow. A beautiful angel statue is sitting atop the crypt above the name "Rochester" which is carved with gold lettering into the marble. Whoever owns this crypt obviously cares so deeply for their former Pokémon that they've created a very special resting place for them, so the only thing left to do is talk to those inside and hope they'll move on without causing any trouble.

Discreetly peeking around the doorway, you both take your first look inside in order to assess the situation before acting. It's only common sense to see what you're up against, after all, as rushing headlong into any unknown situation could prove dangerous if you're not prepared. What you discover is surprising at best, for these are not people throwing a party, but ghosts. Several Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar are getting themselves totally and utterly intoxicated whilst emotionally torturing a young boy who is trapped inside some kind of forcefield the mischievous ghosts have created. He only appears to be around ten or eleven, but his combined expression of anguish and fury is telling you that something very unpleasant is taking place in here. The ghosts are swigging down bottles of whiskey at an astonish rate, throwing them at the walls once they're finished, or just smashing them in the floor while the boy sheds hot, agonised tears. You can see the bottles aren't all that are smashed, a tight knot forming in your stomach when you see a couple of shattered urns on the ground around which ashes are spread. The very thought of even recognising that they're doing what you think they're doing is incomprehensible, as it's desecration of an absolutely unforgivable nature.

While you watch, a Gengar points toward one of the intact urns sitting in its alcove in the wall, laughing at the Haunter next to it who responds with a maniacal laugh. The next moment Haunter's eyes deepen to a pure black with what appears to be a mass of storm clouds swirling around inside. All you can do is watch when two black thunderbolts explode out of its eyes, hitting the urn and shattering it. It falls to the floor, ashes and all, the boy screaming, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" while tears stream down his face. The collective ghosts laugh raucously at this, the boys distress only serving to heighten their overall amusement. It's then that he sees you, a flicker of hope entering the boys eyes. "Help me, please! Only my dad can stop them! Please go find my dad!" The ghosts immediately stop laughing, every eye in the room turning to the open doorway to fall upon you and Ralts who are peering inside. All is temporarily silent with the exception of the lively music playing eerily in the background until suddenly they all burst into laughter once more, the two Haunter closest to the doorway swooping forward to halt your escape...

Enchantress: Done and done! If you need more information, just ask. I'll be sure to add it correctly! And I'm really hoping that I'm using adjectives correctly. As I said before, I go a little crazy with descriptors sometimes, -really- trying hard not to self update myself in any way.

Cyprus had never seen a Ghost Pokemon, nor had he ever had the inclination to meet one. He'd heard rumors, that Ghost Pokemon were pranksters and tricksters, best stayed far away from. But torture? The sight was utterly horrible, and Cyprus began to feel sick. Cyprus looked down at Ralts, who seemed overcome by the malevolent emotions contained in the room. He immediately made a silent apology to his partner, and wished there was something he could do to shield his diminutive friend.

A crashing sound snapped Cyprus's attention back into focus. An urn had been shattered upon the ground, right before the entrapped boy's feet. Hearing the wail from the boy was unbearable. He needed to find this child help, quickly. Cyprus knew that with he and his Pokemon's limited experience, there was no way he could win this fight alone and outnumbered. It was then that the boy noticed Cyprus and cried out. His heart sank. The Ghost's eyes felt like daggers piercing his skin. Shaking the feeling, he grabbed Ralts and turned tail to run, but the Haunters were already closing in.

He yelled to his partner, "Growl at them, Ralts! Maybe it'll be enough for us to run past them!"

Cyprus suddenly became aware of the sound of his voice, and decided that since he'd probably already woken the dead, he'd try one more thing.

The Trainer hazarded a guess at who the son's father was, and began to yell at the top of his lungs, "Mr. Rochester, MR. ROCHESTER! Help us! Your son is in danger!"

He could only hope that someone would hear them in the Graveyard, or that he and Ralts could somehow slip past the Haunters blocking their exit...

You've discovered rather quickly this isn't a party that's best gatecrashing, despite your reasons for doing so. With the boy having given away your presence you're caught between a rock and a hard place which doesn't really give you a hell of a lot of options to choose from. Stay and be forced to endure the unrelenting barrage of practical jokes thrown at you by these mischievous spectres, or run and find help for the boy. Your sense of self preservation wins out, and already having a clue as to who the man is you're supposed to be looking for, turn around and run for your life out into the grounds of the densely fog-covered graveyard. You can barely see a foot in front of you let alone find the way out, so the only resource you have left at the moment is that of your voice. With a vision of the name "Rochester" carved into the crypt entering your mind you call out for him, pleading for him to come to his son's aide as well as your own. After tripping over a couple of headstones in your haste to flee the crypt, you find you've not gained nearly as much ground as you'd have liked for the two Haunter are almost on top of you. Ralts Growls menacingly, his futile attempt at trying to gain you some time failing miserably when the Haunter burst into gleeful laughter. You continue to call for Mr Rochester but to no avail, for a spilt second later, after tripping over yet another headstone, the Haunter finally succeed in capturing you.

A few minutes later, after having been transported back to the crypt, you find yourself in much the same predicament as the boy. Ralts is suspended next to him while you're unable to move, at least not of your own accord. This is unnerving to say the least, and you find yourself hoping they don't force you to do some kind of insane dance for their own amusement. Considering the sort of things they like to do for entertainment, this kind of behaviour wouldn't surprise you in the least. Instead, one of the Gengar summons up a table and chair before releasing you from the invisible binds holding you still. Thankful to have your own freedom of movement restored, you're still not feeling very comfortable with the fact that every eye in the room is trained upon you. Though you're able to move around of your own free will now, you have the distinct impression that will only be the case if you bow to your captor's wishes. The boy gives you an apologetic glance, realising he's the one responsible for having allowed the ghosts to know you were there in the first place, but that's the least of your worries at the moment. Gengar points at the chair so you sit down, wondering what it is they want from you. All but one of the ghosts laugh at this, and it happens to be this one little Gastly who is chosen by Gengar to join you at the table.

Gastly hovers over, appearing extremely uncomfortable with this, and looks you directly in the eye as instructed. There's something in its expression that helps to ease your nerves a little, almost as if it's trying to convey the message, "Trust me". In the next instance two plates appear on the table, and when you see what's on them you feel your stomach begin to churn. You have the sick feeling you know what this little game is all about now and have the overwhelming urge to get up and run. Gengar appears to be reading your thoughts, though, because he draws your attention to another urn sitting in an alcove on the wall. Two black thunderbolts shoot out of its eyes and smash the urn to pieces which causes the boy to begin sobbing miserably much to the amusement the spectral party-goers. Gengar then looks back at you with a challenging, if not sadistic, gleam in its eyes, before turning its gaze to Gastly. Gastly immediately extends its tongue, wrapping up the little Wurmple on its plate and gulping it down. All eyes then turn to you while you stare at the Wurmple on your plate who is shivering with fear...

Enchantress: Even if it did bug me, I wouldn't argue. I like a good challenge that makes me step out of my comfort zones while writing. It produces better writing. : )

Feeling rather defeated, Cyprus heaved a great sigh. The Haunter had caught him easily as he tripped and stumbled through the unfamiliar Graveyard. Slumping down in the chair his captors had produced, he made a quick glance in the direction of his Ralts. Seeing his partner uninjured calmed his nerves, if only for a moment. He was ready to "negotiate" with his captors, or rather commit to their terms until he could find a way out of this hairy situation.

Leaning forward, Cyprus put his elbows on the table's edge, and as the ghost's snickering subsided, he looked up to find himself at eye level of a lone Ghastly across the table. A shiver crept down his spine as he peered into it's gaseous form, but stopped about midway. Something about this Ghastly was different from the others, but he couldn't put a finger on it. Slightly weirded out at the uneasiness of the ghost across from him, Cyprus's face turned absolutely dumbfounded at what had appeared on the plate in front of him.

"You've got to be kidding me, " Cyprus said, "what kind of sick joke is this?"

After one of the Gengars shattered another urn, Cyprus winced, he'd foolishly rebuked his own captors and the poor boy suspended nearby was paying the price. As his "dinner guest" floating across from him wrapped up the Wurmple with its tongue and swallowed, Cyprus's mouth hung open, amazed. Where does food go when a -ghost- eats it?

Swallowing fearfully, Cyprus determined that if this Ghastly could do it, then so could he! Closing his eyes, the trainer opened his mouth as wide as he could and thrust it downward toward the poor, shivering Bug Pokemon...

Ryan had absoluetly no idea about what to do. He was feeling kinda scared of the rain; something which Ryan called Hydrosphobia. His conscience told him that there was nothing to be feared of, but his heart told him the opposite. His Mudkip knew the all-powerful move Surf and the unusual move Waterfall. However, he knew that he had to enter the spooky farmland in order to be safe. He was feeling nervous, but had to take the risk. As usual, Mudkip was feeling calm and quiet compared to Ryan. Mudkip sighed and decided to follow Ryan. This seemed more like a tragedy than a horror show. Ryan giggled slightly at the very thought of it.

Mudkip jumped onto Ryan's shoulder and looked at his face. An alternative insecurity came on Ryan's face because of the very weird sight on Mudkip's face. It was not like the usual insecurity, but something similar to dark romanticism; a genre of books which Ryan enjoys reading. Mudkip truly does not understand Ryan's feeling but just felt unusual. Both of them smiled and Ryan twisted his head left and right. He then nodded and told Mudkip that would Mudkip be the earth while he'll be the sun. Mudkip understood that this was one of Ryan's philosophical words, and nodded quietly. Ryan then responded with another philosophical reply, "When the earth, sun and the stars assemble, it is believed that magic happens. Then Lugia travels along the sea and Ho-oh along the sky. The beats Entei, Raikou and Suicune run like torpedo's of light and dissapear into the plains. Then there is Celebi, who exists in every time and every space."

Mudkip was confused by Ryan's deep and thoughtful philosophical thoughts. Ryan knew that Mudkip would understand all this as their journey continues and as they become wiser and stronger. Mudip then yawned quietly and both of them decided to enter the spooky place. The hardy Mud Fish and his Trainer both gulped at each other. This spooky farmland was their only available shelter for this night. There was a chance that it could be haunted by ghosts. Ryan wasn't fond of ghosts and scratched his head in confusing. He then turned to Mudkip and asked, "Are you sure about this?" Mudkip replied with a silent and haunting nod. It was a creepy, bloody old place with perhaps even more haunting feautures. Rickety floors, secret graves, avenging spirits.... the possibilities were endless! But again, this rain was pretty dangerous, atleast for Ryan. Mudkip didn't really worry about the rain but was not sure about Ryan. He then jumped down Ryan's shoulder.

Mudkip decided to lead the way in order to make sure that Ryan was safe. "Mud?" Mudkip enquired from Ryan whether he was fine or not. Ryan said that he was safe, touched by Mudkip's affection for him. This incident had just helped strenghten the bond between both of them. Both looked at each other with a shine of both's eyes. After this brief and lovely episode, both of them decided to continue on their way. Mudkip decided to remember what Ryan told him about. Don't get freaked, freak them!Mudkip then called Ryan and tried to imitate a Gastly. He stook out his tongue and licked Mudkip in a affectionate method. Ryan felt more amused than scared by Mudkip's mimicry. Since both of them were now ready, they decided to poke their head into this creepy place...

Ryan Rosona: Please reply using size 11 font. Keeps the zone looking all spick and span

Though Mudkip isn't at all phased by the change in weather, the thought of getting wet instils an instant fear in your soul. Phobia's aren't the most pleasant of conditions to plague a person during their lifetime, but even still you somehow find time to discuss your philosophical views with your travel companion while the rain beats down. Eventually making a run for the rickety old farmhouse, you arrive out of breath on the porch, drenched to the skin, a puddle of water forming at your feet while you take a moment to catch your breath. This is all a part of the adventure as far as Mudkip is concerned, your hardy natured friend immediately bounding off along the verandah to begin his exploration of this new and exciting place. You watch while he pokes around, sticking his nose into wilting plants and hopping onto a rocking chair that begins to creak eerily. Mudkip giggles at this, finding the rocking motion to be rather fun, but he soon leaps off the chair to approach the front door, looking up at you expectantly. You look at the door, all kinds of bad thoughts flitting through your mind, and while it's possible to wait out the storm here on the verandah one glance up at the angry, broiling, sky tells you that you're going to be stuck here for quite some time. Considering the place looks to have been deserted a very long time ago there's no harm in poking around to find a nice, warm place to hole up in until the storm passes... Is there?

Poking your head around the door you find the dark hallway stretching out before you to be creepy at best, a flash of lightning temporarily illuminating the hall. Swearing you see something small and dark running for cover, the deafening thunderclap overhead drowns out any sound that may have come from inside to confirm your suspicions. Probably just a Rattata wanting to stay dry... Bracing yourself, you step into the hallway, the dim light from the open front door the only illumination in your dark and dreary surroundings. Walking further inside you notice a room off to your left and walk inside to find what would have once been a comfortable and cosy living room. It's decorated with old, heavy, mahogany furniture, the drapes a rich, plush, velvety maroon. The maroon colour theme extends to the couch, settee, and carpet, while ornaments and photographs line the mantel above the fireplace. It's too dark to really make them out, but as you move in for a closer look you hear a sudden movement from your right and turn your head to see something dark standing in the shadows. Mudkip leaps into your arms, and a moment later the thing that has been watching you charges forward...

The Graveyard - Please reply in silver

Cyprus: Feeling that you really have no choice but to play along for the sake of the boy if not your own, you squeeze your eyes shut tightly so as not to witness the expression of terror on poor little Wurmple's face, and proceed to pop the shivering bug type into your mouth. The moment Wurmple hits your tongue, however, you feel a strange sensation engulfing you and are certain this is not what the Ghost Pokémon have in mind for their little prank. While the surrounding ghosts break into hysterical laughter your eyes are drawn to Gastly who is watching you so closely you feel as though it's looking right through you. In the same moment you realise that Wurmple is not wriggling at all which is odd considering it should still be alive. In fact, what you're tasting is the suspiciously familiar, and rather pleasant, flavour of roast chicken, and while peering deeply into Gastly's eyes come to a startling realisation. Gastly is helping you to get through this one way or another. Whether that's by transforming Wurmple into something else, or fooling your senses into believing Wurmple is something else, you do not know. For all you know it's not even a Wurmple you're eating, the ghosts may just be messing with your head, but whatever the case you have the distinct impression the Gastly hovering above the opposite side of the table is your ally.

Being sure not to give anything away so as to alert your audience to the fact you may actually be enjoying your grisly snack, you proceed to chew your meal making sure to pull gruesome faces to demonstrate the fact you're quite repulsed by their frightfully distasteful offering. This amuses them to no end, all but the Gastly opposite you finding your situation morbidly humourous. When you're finished, Gengar approaches the table again, pointing at the table where two more plates materialise out of nowhere. This time it appears they're offering Miltank intestines to tempt your palate, the energy crackling in Gengar's eyes warning it will not take no for an answer. It's then you hear its voice echo throughout the room, "Two more and you can leave with the boy". You're not sure you can trust in its message, nor can Gastly if the flicker of doubt in its eyes is any clue, but if this is all they want you to do then you may at least be able to buy a little time in order to formulate a plan. For now, all you can do is hope that Gastly really is discreetly helping you, and will continue to do so for the next couple of courses at the very least. Perhaps it will even help you to fight your way out of here, but seeing as you have no real idea of where its loyalties lie then it's best you concentrate on forming a plan as quickly as humanly possible...

Cyprus couldn't believe how powerful these Ghost Pokemon were. With the ability to create illusionary objects, project force fields, and even change how something tastes, the trainer quietly wondered why he wasn't already dead, or at the very least comatose. He shivered at the thought of what kind of torture he could be subjected to in his own dreams. At least now he understood that if he could cooperate with at least -one- of these Ghosts, he'd have a powerful ally on his side. The Ghastly across from him was his best hope, and although he didn't understand its true intentions by helping him through this ordeal, the very least he could do is try to communicate with it.

Cyprus reasoned that if Ghastly was responsible for changing either the taste, texture, or the entire object in his mouth completely, it must be tapping into his mind to do so. He began to forge a plan in his head, and decided to try voicing it to his gaseous potential ally.

As he dug into the next course, where he thought that Ghastly would connect with him again, Cyprus tried to think about the conversation he would have with Ghastly if he could speak.

"I appreciate the help so far, but we both know that this is only temporary. They're having too much fun with me already, I doubt they'll let me go." Cyprus thought, "You can help me! Tell me how to disable the force field that is keeping my friend and the boy trapped inside. I have something in my bag that might be enough to help us, but I have to get to Ralts first."

Cyprus made the most disgusted faces he could as he gobbled down the intestines, silently hoping that the other Ghosts would be too distracted to listen in on his thoughts.

"I really don't want to hurt your friends, Ghastly. Being ghosts probably hurts enough, but I can't let them get away with defiling this crypt!" he added, "Will you help us?"

The Graveyard - Please reply in silver

Cyprus: Gastly's eyes flicker while you silently communicate with it, leaving you fairly confident that it's hearing every word you're thinking. Gengar's eyes narrow also which is a little disconcerting, and for a moment you're left wondering whether or not it's overheard you. Its eyes focus upon you, its sinister stare unnerving you somewhat, before it turns its gaze suspiciously upon Gastly. Your dinner companion is staring dully back at you, however, and yawns while watching you devour your next course. Gengar then notes the expression of disgust on your face and chuckles heartily which has the rest of the ghosts bursting into another round of laughter. While they're distracted, Gastly shoots you a warning glance, the realisation of just how close you both came to being discovered by Gengar causing a tight knot of fear to form in your stomach.

"I can help you," says a voice inside your head while the deliciously meaty flavour of freshly baked lasagne tantalises your taste buds. "But first you must agree to help me escape."

Gengar spins back to face you and Gastly, its narrowed eyes examining you both closely. Gastly has that by now familiar blank look on it's face though, and before you even realise that you're done, Gengar points at the table where your third and final course appears before you. Fighting the urge to gag, you stare at the heavily laden plate of Ledyba eyes and briefly wonder why on earth you're even bothering to play along with this sick joke. One look at the sobbing boy and Ralts answers that question, and you're left feeling partly relieved that it's almost over. This is your last chance. If Gengar was telling the truth then all you need to do is polish off this plate of... goodies... and you'll be able to leave with the Rochester boy. If Gengar was having you on, however, then you're back at square one and who knows what kind of pranks they'll have in store for you next. Gastly seems willing to help, but has a condition attached. Asking yourself which ghost you think you may be able to trust, if either, you look first at the eyeballs, then at Gastly, Gengar, and finally the boy. Whatever the ghosts' intentions, it's time to for you to make some decisions if you're to get out of here at all...

((I totally spelled "Gastly" wrong like 10 times in my last update, it was bugging me in my sleep last night, heh. T_T))

Witnessing the power that this Gengar held had Cyprus's hairs standing on end, but the Trainer steadied his resolve. Fear was an advantage these Ghosts had over the living, and if he let it take him over, he'd be finished. There was only one more course of the macabre meal, but seeing the Ledyba eyes was finally enough for Cyprus's taste, and he decided that now was the time to act.

"I trust you, Gastly." Cyprus thought quickly, "I'll help you escape!"

The trainer grabbed the gruesome meal in front of him and tossed it straight at the Gengar's face, "Thanks for the meal, Gengar, but it's my turn to serve up some laughs!"

Hoping that a little physical comedy might distract the Ghosts for a second or two, Cyprus overturned the table sitting in front of him and proceeded to use it for cover as he tried to reach the side of the room Ralts and the boy were on.

Still not wanting to risk voicing his intentions, Cyprus focused on Gastly and thought, "Gastly, please try to disable the force field that's keeping Ralts and the boy captive. If you can't, just cover me, and I'll try break through it myself!"

Ryan was shocked and startled. Some weird thing had leaped out of the shadows in order to attack him. It could be anything, ranging from a ghost to a horrible monster of mindless doom and destruction. He never had the inclination to fight such an opponent. An eerie look appeared on his face, and he gulped. Mudkip himself was feeling pretty scared and turned to Ryan. Both had plan which could already turn the tides of a battle which had not even started an could lead the duo to the peak of success. Mudkip then jumped down to the ground from Ryan's shoulder, ready to receive orders. Ryan stood there, thinking for a while about what attacks to use. Suddenly, he understood what to do.

"Ok, Mudkip, start of by using Surf to hit that mysterious creature that has appeared out of the shadows. Once the massive wave of water has slammed that thing, follow it up with a Waterfall. Once these two moves have been used, finish it with the most magnificent Tackle the world has ever seen. This is going to be our battle plan. However, don't get carried away and loose your cool. If that happens, we'll not getting anywhere." Ryan instructed Mudkip with a eerie and unusual smile on his face. Mudkip had understood the basic of the entire plan: to deal as much damage as possible. However, Mudkip had never fought a so-called real fight before so this was going to be an exciting experience for the Mud Fish. From a distance, Ryan watched his friend with a smile on his face.

[i]Sucky reply, I know. But I'm feeling just SO bored.

Ryan Rosona: Too startled to do anything but stand and stare while the mysterious figure charges at you from the shadows, you waste precious moments mulling over what this thing could be, and what you should, do when Mudkip finally takes a stand and leaps forward. He's quite afraid as well, especially considering he has absolutely no idea at all of what he's up against, but he's a brave little fellow and isn't about to watch his trainer be harmed when there's even a chance he can do something to help. Nodding his understanding of your orders, Mudkip hunkers down and starts straining, his little face almost turning red from the effort. Unfortunately, there is no source of water available in order to him to successfully summon his Surf attack, so he attempts his Waterfall only to find himself in much the same predicament. Sweat is beading on his little forehead from the exertion, but now that he's discovered his two most powerful attacks are useless on dry land he's eager to try out his final order and hope it's enough. A moment later, however, the charging figure stops dead in front of you and looks up, releasing a distressed, drawn out, "Maaaa-aaaaa-reeeeeeeeep!" Mudkip sits back with a stunned look on his face, and rather than carry out his next attack, begins a conversation with the anxious sheep. You watch, stunned, while the two talk their Pokémon talk, your jaw nearly dropping to the floor a moment later when Mareep turns tail and runs out of the room with Mudkip taking off after it. Hmm, whatever will you do?

Cyprus: Deciding you've had enough of the spectre's tasteless practical jokes, you figure it's time to take matters into your own hands, especially considering it appears that you have Gastly on your side - at least for now. What Gastly's actual intentions are, you have no idea, but if it can at least help you to escape your current situation then it's worth the risk as you're fairly certain that Gengar isn't going to live up to its end of the deal. In one swift movement you grab the plate of eyeballs from the table and toss it straight at Gengar's face, watching while the entire plate and its contents sail straight through the shocked ghost and continue to travel across the room. The plate smashes on the far wall, the eyeballs flying in all directions and rolling across the floor. An uproar immediately ensues, every ghost in the room firing off attacks at the table you've just turned on end, smashing into it and sending splinters flying while you use it for cover to reach Ralts and the boy. The ghosts are so distracted by targeting you that they don't even notice Ralts and the boy are free, and though you have no real way of knowing if Gastly is responsible for their liberation, or if Gengar just isn't focused enough on them to care at the moment, the fact they're free gives at least one point in your favour.

Ralts leaps into your arms, the boy dives behind the table to join you before he can be hit by an attack, Gastly is backed into a corner discreetly sabotaging those attacking you by firing off its own attacks at its kin, and the ghosts are laughing so raucously that you fear they're going to wake each and every soul buried in the graveyard outside. Whether you're imagining it or not, the music seems to be getting louder as the excitement in the room builds, sending an adrenaline rush through your body as you know you need to get out of here and fast. Your defiance has struck a funny bone with this lot, but Gengar is a problem. It's absolutely outraged, its attacks aiming to kill rather than scare. You're too far away from the door to reach it unscathed, and the ghosts are now moving to surround the table, so no matter which way you face you know you're not going to be able to use the table for cover for much longer. Just when you're wondering how on earth you're going to get out of this alive, you hear a thunderous bang from the doorway to the crypt, a loud, infuriated, and rather terrifying voice echoing throughout the room. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!"

All immediately falls silent, and when you finally pluck up the courage to poke your head around from behind the table you notice that all of the Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar in the room are staring fearfully at the towering form of an absolutely enraged man who appears to be in his late thirties and accompanied by a Mightyena who is snarling viciously at Gengar. Some of the ghosts disappear, vanishing into thin air, while others turn and rush straight through the wall of the crypt to the safety of the cemetery outside, but some are so overcome with morbid curiosity that they stay behind to watch. The boy yells, "Daddy!" and runs over to cling onto the man's legs, his father's hand automatically moving down to gently push the his son behind him. All but Gengar seem terrified of Mr Rochester which makes you wonder what kind of power this man possesses which can instil fear into the dead. Gastly hovers across the room to take its place beside him, Gengar eyeing it with such loathing that you feel a chill race up your spine, when the man speaks again, his eyes staring hard into Gengar's. "What the hell is going on here," Mr Rochester repeats, his tone low, but full of venom. Gengar looks at you, then back to Mr Rochester, a sadistic gleam in its eye. You have the distinct impression you're about to become the pawn in a very nasty game, so it may be time to either speak up or run for your life before things get terribly out of hand...

Cyprus felt nothing but relief when he was finally able to reach Ralts and the boy, but the haunting sound of that crazed music, along with the roar of the attacks splintering his only means of defense quickly drowned any belief that he would make it out of here alive. A rock and a hard place was where he was, and Cyprus now wished that the hard place was anything but a crypt. As Gengar and the other Ghost Pokemon continued their assault, it was clear that these spirits must have died in some horrible manner. The thought of Gengar's menacing stare on the other side of the table would no doubt haunt him forever.

But there -was- hope. The Gastly he'd quickly made a deal with was clearly helping him, but he wasn't sure how much longer the Ghost could hold out on its own against its powerful kin. Cyprus tried desperately to think of an escape plan, but nothing came to mind. He couldn't guarantee that the table would hold out all the way to the exit, or that he'd be faster than the disembodied ghosts surrounding him. As he finally resolved himself to the "do-or-die" situation, the Trainer's actions were immediately halted by the booming voice of Mr. Rochester.

Cyprus peeked out meekly from behind the table, noting the fearsome damage it had taken. He thanked his lucky stars for the timely rescue, but quickly saved the thanks for later once he got a look at Gengar. Those red eyes were burning right into him, and he had no doubt in his mind that the Ghost could make that feeling come to life at any moment.

"Mr. Rochester! These Ghost Pokemon have been torturing your son, and desecrating this crypt! The Gastly by your side has helped us, but this is just too much for us to handle." Cyprus gestured toward Gengar and the rest of the Ghost Pokemon, "Sir, what -are- these Ghosts doing here? And what purpose does this crypt serve? I have more questions, but..." he glanced quickly at Gengar, "I don't think this is the best time to ask."

Ralts joined Cyprus by his side at the remnants of the table, both of them staying close by in case they needed to dive for cover at least one last time. The Trainer prepared himself for a fight, but deep inside he still wanted to understand -why- these Ghosts would attack the poor boy, and if there was any way to calm these mischievous spirits, despite his rude tactics to survive.

The Graveyard - Please reply in silver

Cyprus: Though Mr Rochester doesn't look at you, he's listening to every word you're saying while his eyes flicker through the room taking in the damage that's been done. Upon noting the shattered urns and scattered ashes, his face turns a bright red, and you can see his temples pulsing as his rage builds. This man is a force to be reckoned with; you're not sure how you know this, but judging from the way the majority of the ghosts had fled upon his arrival, then you're certain that something is up with this man. Gengar's sadistic smile falters for a moment when Mr Rochester's eyes fall upon it again, a flicker of worry visible for only a second before it recovers itself and returns the man's stare. Waiting for some kind of answer from him, you watch him closely, looking for some sign that he's taking your presence in this room into consideration.

"Gastly," Mr Rochester says with slow and deliberate authority in his tone. "Take them out of here now." Gastly hesitates for a moment, looking up at Mr Rochester with concern before following his orders and floating toward you. It wants you and Ralts to follow, as well as the boy, and begins to lead you out of the crypt when it hears something from behind. Mightyena growls threateningly before pouncing at Gengar, but not before Gengar's attack is unleashed. Its Shadow Ball hurtles across the small space in the room and straight toward your retreating back when Gastly suddenly moves so quickly to intercept that you're not even aware of what's happened until it's over. The attack collides with Gastly who takes the majority of the damage before the remaining ghostly energy washes over you, Ralts, and Mr Rochester's son. Fortunately for the three of you, Gengar's attack was unable to do any real damage because Gastly had put itself in harm's way in order to protect you, but Gastly is now so weak that its barely able to keep its eyes open. It's bobbing drunkenly in the air, desperately trying to remain conscious, while Gengar floats close to the ceiling out of Mightyena's reach, smirking with self satisfaction at having taught its kin a lesson.

Mightyena's angry barking is echoing throughout the crypt while Mr Rochester reaches into his pocket, removing a small, silver, metallic object. At the sight of it the ghosts who had stayed behind to watch flee as quickly as possible while Gengar laughs sadistically before staring at you hard, pointing at you in a "this isn't over" manner, and vanishing into thin air. With the ghosts now gone, Mightyena takes his place by his master's side while Mr Rochester carefully checks over his son looking for any sign of physical injury before bending down to examine Gastly who looks like its about faint dead away.

"He helped you?" Mr Rochester asks in response to what you had stated previously, his tone guarded, as though not quite willing to believe this to be the case if not for the fact he'd seen with his own eyes how Gastly had taken Gengar's attack in order to protect you. Nodding, you confirm the fact that Gastly had indeed helped you, which results in a frown appearing on Mr Rochester's face. "It couldn't be..." he says quietly, more to himself than to you, before shaking his head as if to push his thoughts clear out of his mind.

"This crypt was designed by my great grandfather," Mr Rochester continues in response to your questions, "and is home to the spirit of every Pokémon who has been trained by a Rochester. It extends deep into the graveyard, with there being individual vaults for each of our ancestors. What you see here is only the entrance, the real tombs are below us, including the tomb housing the Pokémon who destroyed that Gengar's master. We have protective charms in place that prevent the ghosts from accessing the main entrance and this is why they've congregated here, and why Gengar was using emotional torment to wear Billy down; it wants to wreak revenge upon the Rochester family for what Gengar sees as the untimely demise of its trainer, and will stop at nothing to ensure it gets what it wants."

He stops, looking at you curiously, wondering exactly what kind of interest you have in the place. "I suppose you've heard the rumours surrounding what else is buried in this crypt, and that's why you're out here, alone, in the middle of the night?" he asks, his eyes peering deeply into yours as though trying to read your very soul...

enchantress: I'm hoping that it's okay to send Ralts to the Move Tutor for a bit after this post. I figured the key thing to do would be do this post -first- and then take him there. Just want to get the most out of my Super Pass, you know.

Time stood still as Cyprus watched the gaseous Pokemon take the Shadow Ball without hesitation. Knowing that without its intervention, his own partner could down and out, or worse. The trainer thought his spine would shatter from the vibes it was getting from Gengar... he'd never felt hatred like this before. The fact that he'd angered the Ghost Pokemon enough to consider himself an enemy made him want to throw up... surely it had been around for quite some time, with a personal grudge against the Rochester name, and now it had -his- name burning behind its gaze.

Without a second thought, Cyprus raced to Gastly's aid, taking a Potion from his backpack and trying desperately to apply it to the wounded Pokemon. It was rather awkward, since Gastly was mostly insubstantial and Cyprus couldn't tell where it was wounded the worst, but the trainer hoped it would help. Looking down at the Ghost Pokemon, he smiled meekly, hoping that Gastly might be able to focus on the sound of his voice, "You sure don't fit in with the group that was here earlier, Gastly. What made you join up with a bunch of jerks like that, huh? And more importantly, why did you protect us?"

Shifting his attention back to Mr. Rochester, Cyprus asked, "You command a lot of respect down here, Mr. Rochester, even from these Ghosts, what exactly is it that you do?"

Checking on Gastly's condition, he added, "Whose Pokemon was Gastly? Was he yours, Mr. Rochester?" Finally noticing Mr. Rochester's gaze upon him, Cyprus nervously answered the man's question, "I... I just arrived in Fizzy Bubbles, sir. If I knew the layout of the land better, you can be sure I wouldn't have wandered into a Graveyard at night. I haven't even heard where to get a map around here, much less any rumors surrounding this place. I heard a disturbance, and decided to investigate, though if you hadn't shown up..." Cyprus shivered at the thought, "I'm not a very experienced Trainer, sir, your son and I would have been goners. You truly have my thanks."

As he finished thanking Mr. Rochester, he looked to his partner, Ralts. Surely tonight's shenanigans were having a deep effect on his poor Pokemon. Ralts seemed rather content, however, and smiled at Cyprus as though he'd just learned something interesting from the whole ordeal...

The Graveyard - Please reply in silver

Cyprus: Okay, here we go. Rapid fire means short on my part (which is what the Arcane Realm was designed for anyway :p), so let's get you outta here! Also, you're officially released from the AR but I'm keeping you in until you have your first capture. Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! *hands you a Ralts shaped 'loon* ;-)

You can feel Mr Rochester's gaze upon you the entire time you're applying the potion to Gastly, and while you explain how it is that you ended up here, Gastly simply watches you curiously, its expression unreadable. Completely ignoring your first question, Mr Rochester addresses the second. "Gastly belonged to my late wife," he says bluntly, his tone causing you to look up at him sharply. "He lured her out here into the graveyard on the night she was killed but has never been able to tell me why he brought her here because something happened that has erased his memory. He doesn't remember her, Billy, myself, or ever having been a part of our family, but something keeps drawing him to this crypt."

Mr Rochester stops speaking, scanning Gastly with an expression that makes your skin crawl. It's plain this man blames Gastly for the loss of his wife, yet at the same time he's curious as to why the ghost is drawn here. His surprise when learning that Gastly had helped you is beginning to make sense, and the fact he'd seen Gastly deliberately take an attack that would undoubtedly harm it has confused him even more. Whatever is going on here, there is more than meets the eye.

"There is one thing you can do for me," Mr Rochester says hesitantly. "There is a room deep in the underground that no Rochester can enter. My grandfather told me that only someone with pure intentions will be able to open the door, and if it's true that you're new to the area and have no knowledge of me or my family then it may be possible that you could be that person." He then looks between you, Gastly, and Ralts, before fastening his gaze back upon you. "Are you willing to go there and return to me what's inside if you're able to enter the room?"

So much for short xd

enchantress: Thanks for the Birthday wishes! : D

Cyprus wished he could hear Gastly's side of the story, too, but it didn't look like that would be possible. He was very curious as to how the poor Pokemon was wrapped up in this unfortunate tale, and wondered silently to himself if the Pokemon would instill the same fate upon -him- when the time came...

The trainer finally stood up, and approached Mr. Rochester, "I'll go down there, sir, but only on one condition. Gastly will come with me. There's no doubt that its involvement in your tomb is important, and besides that, I'll need a guide."

Cyprus no longer felt he could trust Mr. Rochester after hearing the part about having pure intentions... it alluded to no Rochester -having- pure intentions in the first place. He was in no position to argue, however, as it was clear that Mr. Rochester was a powerful man, and if it was true that he did not have pure intentions, Cyprus could just end up locked down in this tomb forever. No one else knew he was here, anyway.

Cyprus kept hitting himself over and over in his mind... he should just walk away from this whole thing! It wasn't his problem! But Mr. Rochester was too intimidating for the meek and inexperienced trainer, and Cyprus finally asked which way he was supposed to go. He beckoned Gastly politely to come with him, adding a glance in Mr. Rochester's direction that read, "Would you rather stay with -him?-"

Cyprus: As Mr Rochester returns your gaze you have the strangest feeling he can read your thoughts and is well aware of the fact you don't entirely trust him. He makes no mention of this, however, only responding to your ultimatum. "Take him," he replies, waving his hand, the dismissive gesture doing nothing to raise your opinion of the man. A fleeting expression of hurt is visible in Gastly's eyes, and you can sense that even though it has no recollection of events that have transpired here, he feels that he was once a well-loved member of the family and cannot understand the hostility aimed toward him. While you're contemplating this, you don't notice the immediate change in the room, and when you look up again you see an opening in the floor next to the wall of the crypt with a stairwell leading down into the depths of the graveyard.

"This is where you enter," says Mr Rochester, nodding toward the stairs. "Gastly will lead you to your destination, and once there the rest will be up to you." He then stands back and watches while you disappear down the stairs, and you can't help but wonder why you've allowed yourself to become involved. The next half hour seems endless, but way down there is no way of judging how much time has elapsed as there is no way of even trying to guess roughly what time it is. You follow Gastly through one corridor after another, glancing curiously into the tombs as you pass. The Rochester family is wealthy, this much is certain, but some of the objects you've seen in some of the tombs makes you wonder exactly what kind of things this family is involved with. Runes, talismans, crystals, strange writings and symbols that you don't recognise, along with an array of other objects that seem to point toward a culture you'd rather not imagine. Eventually Gastly stops in front of a plain old oak door with no writing, symbols, marks, or stains upon it. There are no locks either, so if this is indeed the door Mr Rochester was talking about, then why would he need you to open it for him? Things just keep getting curiouser and curiouser...
