Aquariums
When was the last time you went to an aquarium?
Would you like to go to an aquarium? If you'd like to go but haven't been in more than 2 years, what obstacles are in your way? How do you feel about aquariums?

I went to the Georgia Aquarium on my last birthday (admission is free on your birthday). It was a good experience but it is also a very big and well-funded aquarium. I had been a few times before and not a lot had changed but I did see the dolphin show, which was new and interesting.
I like aquariums and would like to go to more. |

I voted "less than 10" before reading Jeri's post and remembering I visited the Georgia Aquarium sometime between 2013-2014. I forget exactly when, but it was probably the summer of 2014.
Prior to that, the last aquarium visit I had was to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, in 2010. I had visited there annually since 2001 primarily due to the Morrison Planetarium, which had a star projector build shortly after World War II and a lecture series done by astronomy professors from UC Berkeley. The aquarium was more a side show to the planetarium visit, but I had fun there nevertheless. In Georgia, there was this school somewhere, I forget where, that also had a planetarium, but the planetarium was being renovated when I visited there.

I currently work at a zoo with an aquarium, so I visit there almost everyday for now. It's pretty neat and I think good aquariums are important for preservation of coral and rare fish.

Oh no I voted wrong. I forgot when I went to the Boston Aquarium. So one of those 10+ years is now like a 2-5 year period cause I don't remember the year lol.

I've never been to one but have always wanted to! The Aquarium near me is located in a dangerous city in NJ. The exact place it's at isn't as bad as most of the city but I would have to drive through it in order to get to the Aquarium and I try to avoid that area as much as possible because one wrong turn can lead to bad things.

Went to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago once when I was little... maybe 9 years ago? Iunno it was a long time ago. It was pretty cool.
I also went to one in the Bahamas in March but I didn't count it because I didn't even know there was one and was just passing through it to get from Point A to Point B. Was still neat to see, though! |
