I don't want them to have filler (nor do I expect any). I want people to realize that a fast paced show is better than a filler filled one.

The following is a gross oversimplification and does not explain all situations.
Reason to watch a show weekly: for the discussion Reason to not watch a show weekly: for myself Watches show all in one go when: myself trumps quality of anticipated discussion Watches show weekly when: quality of anticipated discussion trumps myself A bunch of "wow that was great" "omg best song ever" "WHAT DID I JUST WATCH I DON'T EVEN--" does not inspire me to dissatisfy myself in order to satisfy the masses. If you guys actually, I dunno, conversed, then maybe I'd want to join in.

I find that a lot of the things you've mentioned in regards to things you see in episodes and opinions would be beneficial to discuss around, but after having seen it for myself, I have to admit it's not a very easy thing to do months after it's already aired and the points mentioned have been talked to death, here or elsewhere.
I'm sure you've seen I've tried to pick up discussion a few times but it only works with some people, because let's face it, most members here don't really want to ever discuss an episode's events to great length or detail past a two sentence "Well, I liked this and this. This other part was meh, but not too bad. Good episode overall.". I'll admit, I'm guilty of that too out of laziness (multiple times, I can even think of a few recently, and in this very thread, even), but I think people might be more encouraged if they had an incentive to discuss and communicate/debate about certain points of an episode. |

Maybe for you. I enjoy shows that take their time to develop characters and various subplots. A little filler is nice once in a while as well. I'm not saying Korra is bad because it's moving fast, it's just not the sort of thing I would usually watch. And, like deo said, they have 1 season's worth of episodes to cram everything into, so I'm not really blaming them either.

I highly doubt they will extend the show. When a show is put into production, scripts are written, time is allotted, and budgets are given. When you change something, everything gets f'd up. Scripts need to be rewritten, then revoiced by the cast. Animation needs to be done. More episodes means a bigger budget. Also, another show which would have taken Legend of Korra's time slot is now forced into delay. New sponsors need to be found to fill in commercial time. etc. etc. A whole shitstorm of possible lost revenue.

I thought this was only ever planned to be a 26-episode series. What's all this talk about a confirmed two-book series?

What happened to the original 20-episode season format?

Talon: I would be willing to have actual discussions with you regarding this show. Unfortunately, right now I'm viewing the episodes a day or so behind schedule and am only really able to post late at night when I get back from work. That will change next week, though, seeing as I'm quitting my hellish night job.
Just a thought. I know I'm not exactly the most interesting person to talk to, though ;; |

Shippy teenage bullshit whoo...
Waiting for some real wonder still. I'm definitely starting to like Korra more now, though. |
