Loch Bygone Raid Battle 10: Vs Steelix!
Raid Boss Steelix ★★★★ Health gauge: 100% Shields Up: 0 Status: None. Raid Challengers lilboocorsola, Rhydon: 500 HP {Soft Sand (+2 to Ground moves)} Median Dia, Palossand: 400 HP {Assault Vest (+1 SD, Taunted)} Naru, Dragonair: 400 HP Emp, Inkay: 400 HP {Leftovers} Sixdragons, Buizel: 300 HP Missingno. Master, Baltoy: 300 HP TKF, Greninja: 500 HP {Expert Belt (+2 to SE moves)} Zelphon, Dragapult: 500 HP With a call to arms, the raiders arrive on the scene as the behemoth before them towers over the loch, a species already known for being among the tallest pokemon having its head literally in the clouds. The Steelix looms over the group as Rhydon feels a surge of energy, but to the serpent the trainers and their pokemon are but ants, as behind the shroud of clouds the beast's massive head tilts down slightly, as if trying to make out the dots beneath it. Dynamax Initiative: lilboocorsola, Rhydon.

"A Steelix is a rare sight, indeed," Make remarked as it and Terri drew closer, getting to see the metallic behemoth up close. "Are they not formed when Onix are exposed to high pressure deep underground for over a century?"
"Normally," nodded Terri. "But see, humans have found a way to reproduce the evolution without the need for such a long wait. There's an item called Metal Coat that reacts with contact with an Onix when inside a Poké Ball being sent through a trading machine. There are many Pokémon that can evolve in a similar way, and Trainers tend to seek out each other's help to evolve their Pokémon like this when the Pokémon are ready." "Ingenious," murmured Make, sounding impressed. "Another example of how humans can work together for the sake of Pokémon. Certainly something the Unown back at Alph might be interested to know about. Now... what shall our approach to this battle be?" it inquired, rotating slowly in place, eyeing the Steelix whenever it could see the Iron Snake Pokémon. "Hmm... Mud-Slap won't be much use, wild Dynamaxed Pokémon tend to have no problem landing their moves regardless," Terri stated. "And Earthquake isn't a good idea, you'd hit our allies as well. Fortunately, the move I taught you recently should be a big help." "Ah, I see," nodded Make (who was still rotating as it nodded, giving the impression of wobbling unsteadily). "Yes, yes, that should be a good option." "Then let's do it," smiled Terri. "Make, use your Scorching Sands attack!" OOC: Make used Scorching Sands (70 BP) |

This may be a different Steelix than before, but we're still not gonna let it cause any more damage... I know you want to beat it as quick as possible to put those bad memories to bed, but better keep our cool and just show this big bully your EARTH POWER (90 BP) for now. (Boosted by Soft Sand)

Raid Boss Steelix ★★★★ Health gauge: 81% Shields Up: 0 Status: Wrapped (4 Turns Remaining), Magnetized (4 Turns Remaining), Sun (4 Turns Remaining) Raid Boss Attack Summary Attack 1: Magnet Rise (0 BP) Steelix levitated using electromagnetism! Attack 2: Max Flare (120 BP) Missingno. Master, Baltoy: 180 HP Attack 3: Rage (20 BP) Naru, Dragonair: 380 HP Raid Challengers lilboocorsola, Rhydon: 500 HP {Soft Sand (+2 to Ground moves)} Median Dia, Palossand: 400 HP {Assault Vest (+1 SD, Taunted)} Naru, Dragonair: 380 HP Emp, Inkay: 400 HP {Leftovers} (+2 SA.) Sixdragons, Buizel: 300 HP (Aqua Ring) Missingno. Master, Baltoy: 180 HP TKF, Greninja: 500 HP {Expert Belt (+2 to SE moves)} Zelphon, Dragapult: 500 HP The battle begins with the opening gambits by Buizel and Dragonair doing nothing to garner the titan's attention, and it seems oblivious to the presense of the raiders, that is until hot sand and cold water washes over its body. Irritated by the attack, it is only the Overheat that truly garners the serpent's notice as it grumbles. Facing the presence of water and ground types, the Steelix takes it as its cue to go defensive, taking to the air with a thrum of electricity around it that repels the sand from its body, before rearing back and scorching the Baltoy with an infernal fireball that causes the temperature to rise, to the steel type's begrudging discomfort, before it lazily gives its fellow serpent a gentle shake, dislodging the Dragonair from its tail, though the tightening on its face suggests that the wrap was successful despite appearances. Shaking itself off, Baltoy appears to have been empowered with the dynamax energy... Dynamax Initiative: Missingno. Master, Baltoy.

Terri's grin faded as she saw what the Steelix was doing. "Magnet Rise," she sighed.
"A move that makes a Pokémon more attuned to the planet's magnetism," Make remarked. "Between the levitation and the heightened sensitivity to the ground's power, the user cannot be hit by Ground attacks. It seems my contributions will be lessened going forward," it lamented. Terri glanced around at their allies. "...not necessarily," she stated. "Hm?" inquired Make. "Terri, what are you- AAAAAAGH!" "Make! Are you OK?" Terri exclaimed, for at that moment, Steelix had launched a sizzling Max Flare right at the Baltoy. "Gah... I am OK, Terri," Make reassured her. "Though that was certainly a lot of damage... A Max Move, no doubt?" "Correct," Terri confirmed. Then, after Steelix had unleashed its Rage upon the Dragonair, Terri felt a surge of energy in the band on her wrist. "Ah, so it's my turn," she said with a mysterious smile. "...to Dynamax me?" inquired Make. "But Steelix is affected by Magnet Rise, even the Ground-type Max Move would do nothing-" "Oh, really?" Terri said, still with that mysterious smile. And sure enough, just as Make turned to look, the Rhydon had let loose an expertly-aimed stone projectile that sent Steelix crashing right back down to the ground. Following this, the Greninja generated a Pollen Puff and sent it flying... right at Terri's Baltoy. "AGH! WHAT-" began Make, before the move made contact, managing to heal up the Clay Doll Pokémon. "I... I feel fine?" it murmured in surprise. Terri's smile widened. "You see, Make?" she said. "These are all about teamwork, working together. Rhydon's Smack Down just cancelled out Magnet Rise so our Ground moves can keep doing their job, and Pollen Puff is an attack that hurts enemies but heals allies, so the Greninja did that to heal you." "...indeed," Make murmured wonderingly. "At first I thought the sole reason for the humans teaming up against these threats were for the combined power necessary, but no- they support each other and their Pokémon as well. Terri, this is exactly the sort of thing your father should get to witness for himself sometime." "I agree wholeheartedly," Terri nodded. "Now, Make, what do you say?" she added, taking out the Baltoy's Mummy Ball. "...let's do it," consented the Baltoy. Terri smiled, withdrawing Make. She held the ball out at arm's length, and Dynamax Energy flooded out of the Wishing Star in her Dynamax Band, flowing into the Mummy Ball. "This energy we find," she murmured as the Mummy Ball started to swell up. "It joins with our own... Helps us... Increases our power and our size!" With that, she wheeled around, holding the Electrode-sized sphere with both hands. "Now, Make, direct that power to quicken our victory... and DYNAMAX!!!" With this last word, Terri heaved the ball into the air. And the Baltoy emerged, growing larger... Larger... And larger, until it towered over them all, facing the metallic behemoth before them. The clay colossus was ready. "BAAAL TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY!" it sang in a booming voice. Terri continued to grin as she wheeled back around to face the Steelix. "Now perform- Max Quake!!!" she declared. OOC: Make Dynamaxed and used Max Quake (130 BP; Base move is Earthquake (100 BP)). |

Raid Boss Steelix ★★★★ Health gauge: 73% Shields Up: 2 Status: Attack +6, Wrapped (3 Turns Remaining), Sun (3 Turns Remaining) KO Count: 1. Trainer Recovery Summary TKF, Greninja: Pollen Puff Missingno. Master, Baltoy: 300 HP Raid Boss Attack Summary Attack 1: Earthquake (100 BP) Naru, Dragonair: 140 HP TKF, Greninja: 320 HP Emp, Inkay: 160 HP lilboocorsola, Rhydon: 140 HP Attack 2: Iron Tail (100 BP) Median Dia, Palossand: 88 HP Attack 3: Max Darkness (130 BP) Median Dia, Palossand: 0 HP The raider's special defence fell! Raid Challengers lilboocorsola, Rhydon: 140 HP {Soft Sand (+2 to Ground moves)} Median Dia, Palossand: 0 HP {Assault Vest (+1 SD, Taunted)} [Must wait 1 Round to recover] Naru, Dragonair: 140 HP Emp, Inkay: 185 HP {Leftovers} (S. Att +4) Sixdragons, Buizel: 300 HP (Aqua Ring, S. Def -1) Missingno. Master, Baltoy: 500 HP (S. Def -1)[Dynamaxed, 2 Turns remaining] TKF, Greninja: 320 HP {Expert Belt (+2 to SE moves)} (Protean: Bug.) Zelphon, Dragapult: 500 HP (S. Def -1) With the sun beating down overhead the raiders quickly work to undo much of the work the Steelix put into preparation, with the Inkay delivering a second amplified Overheat that makes the airborne serpent growl in irritation before the levitating pokemon is brought rudely back down to earth by Rhydon. Grounded, the Steelix immediately throws up a set of barriers nullifying all other damage, and as the frog gives the Baltoy a restorative puff of inexplicable pollen the clay doll grows with dynamax potential, yet is still dwarfed by the serpent even as it blasts two shields away. The repeated assaults however have only fuelled the Steelix's Rage, even through the barriers, and its response is devastating. Raising its tail, it slams down and triggers an apocalyptic earthquake that rips through the field, causing major damage to several pokemon, with Greninja's type change merely turning a destructive blow into a damaging one and Rhydon shaken by the super effective attack. It then swings that same tail straight down upon the Palossand who dared try to burn it, crashing into it with sheer brute force, shearing three quarters of its health off in a single amplified blow! It then puts the sandcastle to the earth with a mighty Max Darkness that leaves several of the raiders feeling a little weakened defensively, undoing the buffs that the quake before granted, as it becomes clear that the ants before it have awakened its fervent rage... Dynamax Initiative: Missingno. Master, Baltoy.

The situation was... interesting, to say the least. Steelix's Rage had been fueled by the attacks it took, and strangely, also by the attacks the shield had taken. The massive beast landed some powerful attacks, though the only Pokémon to go down as a result was a Palossand- a species Terri had always been slightly wary of since that time she was nearly eaten by one, but this one came across as particularly... unnerving, somehow. As though there was great hatred building up. Whether that was the case, or whether it was all just Terri's previous experiences messing with her, she didn't know. But in any case, she couldn't focus on that- already, the Dragapult and the Buizel had shattered the shield into pieces. Everyone else had to act, had to do something before Steelix began channeling that fury into even more absurdly overpowered attacks! The fight wasn't looking perilous just yet, but they still had to be careful.
"TOOOOOOOOOOOOOY," boomed Make, looming over the others, not even revolving in place as it eyed Steelix intently. There was an understandable concern to its tone of voice considering the clear and present danger the Steelix now posed. Terri nodded. "I know, Make. I know Steelix is dangerous. But I also think I know what the plan is," she said, her eyes lingering on one of the ally Pokémon in particular. "And if I'm right, then now's the perfect time for us to strike, while it's vulnerable!" And she gestured forward towards the Steelix. "Once again, Make! Now perform- Max Quake!!!" she commanded once again. OOC: Make used Max Quake (130 BP; Base move is Earthquake (100 BP)). |
