You agree with her suggestion especially as these large whales could easily damage the ship further with a stray attack. You make yourself known and find 5 pairs of eyes drawn to you. Forcing down your nervousness you suggest your plan to your companions, Maria giving you a brief smile at agreeing with her suggestion. You suggest that you draw the Wailmer’s attention away from the ship by having your trio of Pokemon swim behind them. Maria seems to like the idea and Pan just looks like he wants to act bouncing on his heels impatiently. You hoped that your Pokemon could persuade them to leave and if not you had a backup. Pulling out a red and white sphere you plan to catch a Wailmer with the Pokeball if they resisted and Maria and Pan looked at the device curiously, of course the technology was very new and foreign to them. You bashfully replace the Pokeball and with determination cross your arms not budging from your plan. Maria looks to Pan and nods causing the younger boy to grin.

Vaporeon leaps overboard entering the water with a graceful dive, Bellamy hopping over too belly-flopping into the water making Pan groan in embarrassment. Freeze cast you one last look and dove into the water too the trio swimming behind the smaller pod of Wailmer. The whales had yet to notice the much smaller Pokemon and one of the larger ones rammed into the ship nearly throwing you off your feet. Vaporeon tries to talk to the whales only to be ignored, she tries again and gets nothing in response before she gets irate Bellamy shoots a jet of water into the back of one of the Wailmer making it stop in its movements and turn around to looks down at the smaller water and ice Pokemon. Vaporeon tries to reason with the Wailmer apologising for hitting the younger one that still had tears in its eyes and asking if they would forgive them. Freeze as per your instructions was keeping his mouth well shut; he had made an ice-surfboard to lie on waiting for his move whatever that may be. The Wailmer’s seem to think over Vaporeon’s words, the younger one not really wanting to fight still smarting from the shot. They spoke amongst one another as Vaporeon waited patiently, Bellamy getting impatient splashing water grumbling to herself. The Wailmer’s turn to the trio and glared at the Politoad, something she said must have irked them as it sped through the water and slammed into her throwing her across the sea a good way. Well that plan worked well! Vaporeon dove underwater to avoid a Water Gun fired her way cursing Bellamy for opening her big mouth. Freeze saw the second Wailmer to turn face him ready to attack and breathed out a light dusting of ice that covered the Wailmer and made it hesitate wincing as a headache over came it.

Pan was holding his hands over his face at Bellamy’s actions before turning to appologise to Maria who shook her head.

“Well it looks like we’ll have to battle after all,” Maria said sighing before leaning over the rail and shouting orders to Vaporeon, Pan following suit. Freeze cast a look up from his surfboard waiting for orders.

The idiot! He should have more Control over his pokemon, now hes gone and gotten us in a fight! Tyson shouted with his mind, Pan's ignorance in training his pokemon had probably been low considering the pokemon got them in a fight. "Let's see, we need to make sure not to harm the little one, that's what started the fight. Aim for the adult ones as they are the more powerful, and can actually make a dent in this ship." He said so that Pan and Maria could hear, I say Freeze and the Vaporeon take one of the Wailmer each and Bellamy lay in for backup." He then thought of an idea, the Wailmer was a baby, or at least a child, and babies like to play! He then called over Mortimer and picked up a ball from his belt, throwing it in the air, "Come on out Valor!" He threw a pokeball in the air, out of which materialized a small blue turtle of awesomeness. "Squirtle-Squirt!" He then looked at his pokemon, "Look, you two are the youngest members of my team, can you go play with the Wailmer?" They nodded questioningly "If you play with it the others might realise theres no point to the fighting, but we still need to be able to get away from the pokemon should they not understand. Can you guys befriend it?" They nodded and headed down
Valor jumping overboard and Mortimer gently floating down gracefully.

Tyson began to yell, as to make sure Freeze could hear him, "Aim for one of the adults only! Get on the surfboard and ride some waves! When you get close to the Wailmer hit it with some of that Icy energy around your fist and punch it. Understand?" The White Weavile nodded. "After that grab on and let it hit you, then punish it for it!" The Weavile understood this progress as he was trained to take blows and reverse the power to the source, a style he called Freeze-Foo.

He looked at the younger pokemon, who didn't know what to do. "Try to use some attacks for fun. Shoot a watergun in the air and catch the water with your mouth or something, try to have fun with it."

He looked at them as they tried to astonish the young pokemon.

Eyes wide and full of fright you look down at your much shorter stature, your clothes shrunken to fit you perfectly like before. What the hell had happened? You remember chasing the girl to the activity playground, looking up to see the bright sparks shower over you with the chime of a bell before darkness swallowed you and you awoke to what seemed to be a new day. Your emotions were in overload and you felt the need to cry overwhelm you, confused and scared, more so than you had ever been before. As you pushed back the tears that this young body’s frazzled nerves were bringing on you suddenly remember Shane, he had been with you when this all occurred, where was he now? Looking around you suddenly spot a purple egg and stare at it in shock, Shane had reverted to his previous form! Picking it up and clutching it to your chest wondering if Shane knew that you were holding him you picked yourself up and ran over to the activity area to confront the girl.

Running up the slide like before finding it much easier with your shorter stature you went to the very top and like before found her sitting under the bell holding her Teddi whom appeared to try and calm her down. You slow your approach not wanting to scare her away clutching Shane tightly to your chest protectively and see her look up, guilt written across her face. You ask what had happened to you and to Shane and she looked to the egg in your arms and looked even more sorrowful than before.

“I’m really sorry … I told you not to follow. Why didn’t you listen? But she knows, she knows that they always follow …” she said trailing off as Teddiursa patted her shoulder giving you the same guilty looks she had.

“You were turned into a child and your Shuppet was de-evolved obviously to an egg,” she said explaining what you already knew but what you really wanted to know was how. You ask her if she had anything to do with your condition and she looked a little shocked her brown eyes reflecting that but she shook her head her platinum blonde ponytail shaking back and forth.

“It was magic that did this to you, very bad magic. She only makes me lure the people to the room with the bell, like I did with you. I didn’t want to but I had to …” she said looking out of the window in the room across the grassy playground.

“You’re not the first one brought here by me and I feel awful every time I do but I have to do what she says, we all do,” she said sighing and rubbing her tears away. “She’ll be back soon to check on us all, we better get moving, we shouldn’t be late or we’ll be punished.” She said running back towards the slide looking back to see you still standing there. She grabs you hand and leads you down the slide and away from the activity house. Running behind her still clutching Shane to your chest you wondered where she was taking you and who this girl was she was so afraid of. She ran towards the back of the playground dragging you with her before taking a turn and heading into the grasses surrounding it. You felt the urge to sneeze as the tall grass tickled your face but held it in as you entered an open area with a set of buildings in rows in the background, almost like small warehouses with large shutter doors. In front of the buildings was a flat tarmac sub area of the playground with a basketball nets, more small seesaws and picnic tables. Within this new area were more children, many more you counted at least 10 kids playing on the equipment. The young girl slowed her pace and let go of your hand and walked onto the tarmac most of the children stopping their games to stare at her, several with disgust and anger as she walked over to the far corner and sat on a picnic table Teddiursa on her lap. You go to follow after her when a young boy about your age as you were now stood in front of you.

“Hey, welcome I suppose” he said shuffling his feet. “You’re the latest victim that Amy brought here,” he said glaring at the young girl, “but its not so bad … sometimes” he says as a Spearow swooped down to sit on his shoulder cawing at you in greeting. “We’ve got some time to play if you want before she comes back, want to play with us? He asks gesturing to the group of children dribbling a ball.
Zak stood before the small girl, all of this too much for his mind to take on, he was still confused as to why he had been made eleven years younger and Shane had been reverted back to his egg. As Zak looked on, the girl spoke of magic, something he hadn't completely believed in until this point, it all seemed a little far fetched, but he had been reverted to a child, it wasn't exactly like he could be skeptical right now.

"Why..." Zak uttered under his breath, he didn't understand what this person wanted with children, why did she send this little girl to do her bidding and bring her trainers so that she could rewind the clocks and make them into children once more, "You’re not the first one brought here by me and I feel awful every time I do but I have to do what she says, we all do." spoke the little girl, which piqued Zak's attention, so there was more like him, more people that had been led to this place by the girl and had themselves rewound too. Before Zak could question this, the girl spoke once more, "She’ll be back soon to check on us all, we better get moving, we shouldn’t be late or we’ll be punished."

His nerves getting the better of him, Zak's legs began to shake, all sorts of thoughts ran through his mind, "Who IS this woman?" he asked with no reply from the girl, she had already ran from where they had been talking previously before grabbing Zak's hand and pulling him along with her. Clutching the egg in which Shane was contained to his chest, Zak looked at him, at least he would be safe in his egg, he thought to himself. As he ran alongside the girl and her Teddiursa, she plunged the two of them into what seemed like exceedingly long grass and as they ran, Zak breathed in, trying not to sneeze from the plants tickling his nose. As the grass began to subside, Zak noticed they were in a completely new area. This area has strange warehouse-like buildings, basketball hoops and more play equipment, but something more. There was a lot more children, all milling around, before they noticed the little girl, to whom the majority of the children acted coldly towards. As she walks off to sit on her own with Teddiursa, a boy approached Zak.

"Hey, welcome I suppose” he spoke and Zak felt slightly relieved, he was glad that he wasn't the only one to have been brought to this strange and unexplained place. "You’re the latest victim that Amy brought here," he spoke, glaring in the general direction of the blonde girl and her pokémon, "but its not so bad … sometimes" As he spoke, a Spearow landed on his shoulder, greeting Zak as he did so. "We’ve got some time to play if you want before she comes back, want to play with us?" He asked Zak, pointing towards several other children playing with a ball. Zak pondered it in his mind, he hadn't taken any time to play in years, he had been focused on pokémon and not much else for the last couple of years.

"Yeah, sure, but first, can you answer me a few questions? If you know that is..." Zak began, swallowing hard, he was nervous as to the identity of this strange woman that Amy spoke of, "Who is this woman Amy brings people here for and why have we been reduced to mere children?" He continued speaking, "And why is my Shuppet an egg whilst you guys still have pokémon? Was that Spearow once a Fearow or something?" He finished, awaiting answers from the boy if he knew any with a comforting smile on his face. Even if he didn't know the answers, this woman would be showing up soon and he could speak to her himself, however scary she was being made out to be...

The Laboratory

lilbluecorsola ~ Just as it seemed that things may be moving slightly in your favour the situation once again turns. The pair of Golbats hover dangerously close to you as you hold a hand to the puncture wound in the crook of your arm hoping that somehow that would discourage them but from the ravenous look in their eyes you doubt it. They look almost emaciated, the bones from their ribs pushing through their purple flesh, skin hanging from their faces, paper thin wings keeping them aloft, they must have been without food for a very long time. It’s any wonder they have the energy to fly but with you being the first meal they’ve probably had in many years’ adrenaline and starvation drives them making them even more dangerous. You wished that the Mansion could just produce a cadaver or two to distract them away from you but it seemed that the old building was not listening today. Abra-droid was awaiting your orders silently to continue whilst Sam floated nearby observing the bats with a mixture of curiosity and amusement and Gumpy went on the defensive ready to act to protect you. With several decisions made you quickly chose to go on the offensive and take out the threat spinning to give orders to Gumpy. Noticing the movement the twitchy Golbats dive for you and you hold back a shriek as you duck the pair of fangs just missing you, the feeling of their wings brushing your neck making you quiver.

Crawling under the desk you reach up and grab the manual nearly twisting your wrist to get at it and anxiously order Abra-droid to continue the process. The bot responds to your orders and hovers down to meet you nearly meeting a Golbat that dove for it and applies the gauze to your arm with some tape it had picked up. The second Golbat flies directly for the obstacle, this being the Abra-droid with a glowing white wing ready to slice it to pieces. Just as its about to strike it shrieks as several thousand volts courses through its body from Gumpy’s Shockwave, you grab Abra-droid as the just as the electricity passes, that was a close call, had it been hit it could have been destroyed! The bat flies off to recover from the harsh blow still whining.

”What would you like to do with the blood sample?” Abra-droid asks drawing you out of the shock of very nearly being hit not only Golbat’s attack but Gumpy’s too and you consult the manual for the options, there being many, and find one that read ‘FBC analysis (inc. tumour and toxin markers)’ after reading through the options a couple of times you decide that this one appears the most appropriate option to analyse the infection in your blood. Coding in the numbers on the page Abra-droid relays the required test and its arm whirred drawing back the blood from the back of the syringe into its system before it hovered up and out searching for a sharps bin to dispose of the needle. You look up in a panic to see the Golbats diving down to attack Abra-droid and saw Gumpy power up an Ice Beam. You beg him not to hit the bot and he fires his beam, the Golbat learning from last time and zipping out of the way the ice energy crashing into the wall causing a good portion of it to freeze over, luckily missing Abra-droid as it finished off its task. It took up a meditative stand, legs crossed arms in its lap as it hummed.

“30 minutes for analysis completion” and you squeak in horror. 30 minutes! How were you going to keep it out of harms way for 30 minutes? The Golbats eyed you up ravenous and so torn between you and Gumpy but decide that he’s the bigger threat for now and turn their attention to him. Sam was watching the sparks and ice fly with an awed look and oohed and ahhhed at every shot fired, some help he was! Gumpy looked up to see a Golbat flying at breakneck speed towards him and takes a Quick Attack in the gut making him wince but not causing much damage. Before he can react a blade of air slices into his side making him stumble back. He powers up another Shockwave but it takes him too long and the larger, male Golbat shrieked at him with his Astonish startling him enough for the smaller, female Golbat to flap in front of him her eyes emitting pink waves that make him yawn and drift off. These bats may be weaker due to hunger but they sure moved fast and now there was nothing stopping their attack on you. They turn to face you and you can almost see their feral grins widening as they fly slowly towards you almost teasing you, cocky at their obvious advantage before hunger grips them. The female shrieks before darting at you mouth wide open and you scream covering your head waiting for the inevitable but all you hear a crack of what sounds like thunder and the Golbat shrieking in pain. Opening your eyes you see the male bat looking to your right angrily before another black bolt of energy strikes him throwing him away too. Sam flies over to you hovering before you arms wide.

“No one touches my Jess,” he says his eyes turning deadly serious as the Golbats assess this new threat. Well he certainly had good timing with Gumpy asleep he was the only thing that stood between you and the blood-thirsty bats.

“I’ll protect you beautiful,” he whispers gently obviously wanting to play the hero.

“25 minutes remaining” Abra-droid informed you in its monotonous voice.

The Mirror Door

fishyfool ~ Arbok locked eyes with you its tongue flicking in and out of its mouth as Yakuza cawed at it in a warning to back off and not try anything. The warnings fell on deaf ears though as Arbok hissed rearing back as its eyes hungrily switched to your jugular. If this Pokemon was anything like its master you hoped that Yakuza would be able to dispose of it quickly and you back off as it sways back and forth its tail flicking to and fro at a maddening pace. Arbok having had enough of the staring contest leapt forward its jaws wide open ready to tear your throat out and you hurriedly order Yakuza to attack. Your Honchcrow stands before you in protection whilst quickly breathing in powering up an attack from the depths of his stomach. Arbok’s fangs spark with electric energy as it reaches Yakuza but fortunately that was when he attacked. Breathing out what looked like a steaming bubblebeam the attack hit Arbok right in the face, the snake closing its eyes in pain but it kept on its course sinking its fangs right into Yakuza’s shoulder the dark bird cawing in terrible pain, not only was the electricity cutting right through him but the heated glass fangs seared the skin too. Arbok slithered back its glass skin a warm red fading from the heated attack as it suppressed a wince, it had not come out of that encounter unscathed and it looked as though its glass had retained the heat burning it.

Shaking off the pain Yakuza flexed his wings wincing in pain with each beat of his right one a bloody burnt looking scar there. He glared in anger as his wings picked up the pace and begun to spin and dance trying to lower Arboks attack. Arbok looked enticed by the movements and it dropped its guard for a moment but a moment was all that Yakuza needed. Concentrating hard on his hidden Psychic abilities a blue aura surrounded Arbok lifting it from the ground and with a grunt of effort Yakuza sent Arbok flying into a mirror the glass shattering with a loud bang, a pained Screech eminating from its jaws. Yakuza holds his wings over its ears in pain the noise much louder in the enclosed space as it reverberated of the walls. Arbok picked itself back up hissing in anger and spits out several Poison Stings that strike Yakuza right in undefended abdomen. Holding his wing over the barbs he shudders in pain as the poison slowly seeps into his skin. Arbok grins as it shines and it’s a layer of glass falls to the ground, its Shed Skin ability apparently working even in this form.

This Arbok was as tricky as its demon master and you’d have to be creative to come out of this the victor … and fast before your reflection caught up to your team.

The Bathing Rooms

psychopath ~ Your plan seemed to be beginning to work when a little glitch occurred, that glitch being Bellamy who was looking bashful after the harsh look her trainer gave her. Grumbling to yourself Pan felt his cheeks flush red with embarrassment and you could see that Maria was shaking her head with disappointment. It looked like Pan was more upset at getting in her bad books than ruining the plan. With no other choice than to fight back Pan and Maria shout down their orders and you give your own to Freeze instructing him not to touch the young Wailmer, it seemed hesitant to fight shaking nervously at its elders raging. Maria and Pan seemed to already have that idea in mind as their Pokemon set to work, the new plan: take out the adults and protect the ship! Bellamy, wanting to redeem herself swims forward with as much speed as she can muster and leaps at a Wailmer whacking it across the face repeatedly with her fist with a harsh Doubleslap. The Wailmer flinches against the move as just as she lands back in the water Wailmer shrieks at her making her swim back shaking in fear, the Astonish knocking her confidence.

Vaporeon moves with great speed to swimming through the water in a white blur striking the other Wailmer with its Quick Attack. Wailmer floats back and blasts her with a Water Gun that forces her back but the refreshing liquid rolls off her skin leaving her looking energised, her Water Absorb ability kicking in. Wailmer looks astounded by the lack of pain and howls as Vaporeon sinks her teeth into its fin and even with such small teeth the Bite hurt all the same.

The young Wailmer was looking worriedly at its family being attacked, feeling the need to step in but too afraid to act, still aching from the hit it took from the ship. You can see its nervousness and decide to distract it away from the battle, not only would you be able to focus on the adults but you’d be able to calm the child down. Mortimer floats over with your pokeballs and you send out you little Squirtle who bounces with excitement looking about the ship with awe. You ask him and Mortimer to go and play with the Wailmer and Valor looks down over the rail to see the battle between water and ice Pokemon looking back to you with a big grin, he seems interested in watching that too. Noticing your pleading look he nodded happy to play instead and leaps into the water with a little splash, Mortimer floating down to greet the young Wailmer who looks rather afraid of the ghost. Valor pops up before it and leaps out of the water with a flourish landing back with a little bow hoping to impress the whale. Wailmer manages a small smile less afraid of the much smaller water Pokemon. Mortimer floats back leaving the two to converse not wanting to scare it further.

Meanwhile Freeze had begun paddling his ice-board along a faint blue glow surrounding him as a small wave lifted him and his board up letting his Surf towards the two Wailmer. He chose his target, the Wailmer he had attacked earlier as the effects of his Brain Freeze kicked in as it held its head in pain. Freeze rode the wave towards the Wailmer, Bellamy and Vaporeon ducking underneath as he passed and pulling his fist back he slammed an Ice Punch right into its face making it cry out, the surf hitting too for that little extra pain. Leaping off his board he held onto Wailmer waiting for it to retaliate but right now it was looking a little confused forgetting what it was doing here. Its partner had not however and glared at Freeze angrily and powered up a ball of water in its mouth shimmering rings surrounding it. Freeze grimaced as it saw the Water Pulse thrown his way and lets go of Wailmer taking the hit head on and falls back into the water. Freeze sits rights himself and readies himself to deliver some Punishment but pauses and shakes his head, Wailmer had not boosted itself in anyway, the attack wouldn’t work! The first Wailmer had recovered and saw an easy target and charged towards Freeze in a fast Rollout and Freeze braced himself for the hit only to see Wailmer get knocked off course as Bellamy Bounced on it throwing her up into the air and back into the water with a loud splash. Vaporeon focusing on the other Wailmer still let loose her own Water Gun that washed over the whale making it splutter.

The little Wailmer turned around to see what was making all the noise and Valor desperately tried to get its attention back waving frantically. Wailmer looks back over to See Valor shooting a jet of water up into the air before catching the droplets on his tongue sighing at the cool taste. Wailmer grinned and tried the same shooting a jet of water from its blow hole and catching it on its large tongue making Valor clap looking over its shoulder to the battle. You had the Wailmer distracted for now but you still had to finish this battle, could you do it without the young one noticing?

The Playground

Pearl’s Perap ~ As the young boy asked you to play with them memories of your childhood rushed through your mind, simpler times when you had the time to play and be innocent, not caring about the rules of the world. But now, though you were a child in body you were still a teen in mind, you had grown up since then as all children eventually do. But … what was the harm in reliving a few of these memories with these kids, they were all in the same situation you were in and seemed to be trying to make the best of it. First you had questions, and you hoped they may have the answers to them. You asked the boy with the Spearow who ‘she’ was and he looked down at the ground shuffling his feet and rubbing his arms nervously.

“None of us know her name, she’s never told us and I don’t think she ever will. We just call her ‘Mistress’ when she’s here, call her anything else and you’d be punished and her punishments are awful. We all met her when we brought here by Amy, most of us rebelled against her at first but she is a nasty woman and you soon learn that is best to just do what she says. I don’t know why we have been brought here, none of us do all we know is that we’ll never leave here until we’re finished.” He said sighing.

You ask him why your Shuppet was now only an egg whilst most of the other kids had Pokemon, holding onto Shane tightly.

“Hawk was a Fearow before we were brought here yes; it seems something about the magic makes everyone and everything become younger. You’re not the only one with an egg though. Tommy over there said his egg was his Rhyhorn before he came,” he said pointing over to a young boy playing basket ball, his attention drawn to a grey coloured egg on the sidelines protectively from time to time.

“And Heather has two eggs that were once her Totodile and Pikachu,” he adds looking to a young girl conversing with a group of others holding onto a blue egg in one arm and a yellow/brown egg in the other. “I am glad that I can at least speak to my Pokemon still and I’m sorry for all those with eggs ‘cause they can’t,” he said shuffling his feet as Hawk patted his head with her wing.

“Lets play, we don’t have much time before she comes back we better make the most of it before we go back to work,” he said grabbing you arm and pulling you over to the court, it seemed that these kids like pulling arms.

“Is this the new kid Shawn?” Tommy asked dribbling the ball, “Yeah this is …” he trails off looking to you for help. You let the group know your name and they welcome you, Tommy looking at you sympathetically for the egg in your arms. “Zak’s gonna join in while we have time” Shawn says and the group nod.

“You can put you egg next to mine if you like Zak,” Tommy says smiling as you place Shane down by his Rhyhorn egg. Shawn lets you know the game and the score and you join in soon finding yourself having fun teaming with the guys. It felt like you had been playing for an hour when the boys dropped the ball turning to face the entrance of this playground and you notice the air shimmer and warp. They all ran to the middle and stood in line, Shawn looking over his shoulder to you with panic urging you to follow suit. You hurry to stand in line as a young woman suddenly materialises at the edge of the playground. She walked onto the court her long black hair flowing in the wind, dark grey eyes harsh and cold. She looked to be about 25 years old, and was dressed in black trousers and a silky black top with pink detailing. An old pink band was wrapped around her wrist and her nails were perfectly manicured topped with black nail polish. She passed the children, their heads all drawn to the ground and you dared to look up see that you were opposite Amy who was clinging onto her Teddiursa a little too tightly as is wriggled in her grasp. The woman stopped by you and turned her head setting her cold gaze upon you and you held onto Shane tightly daring to look her in the eyes regretting it instantly. He eyes seemed to be full of darkness and evil and you felt that you could die if you kept looking at them. Tearing you gaze downwards you see the woman turn to Amy a cold smile on her face.

“Well done Amy,” she said patting her once on her head, making the young girl flinch tears running down her cheeks. “Show him to his station, all of you back to work. Work hard and you’ll get your next break with your Pokemon” she said her voice cold and uncaring as she walked off ahead towards the warehouse. You release the breath you were holding, whatever questions you had left your mind as you looked at her. The kids all begin to march off towards the warehouse and you notice their Pokemon vanish as they enter the door. Amy walked next to you wiping away her tears not daring to look at you as you made your way towards the building. She stopped by the door kissing Teddiursa on its head as it looked mournfully at her. As she passed the teddy vanished and you hesitated by the door, a boy behind you pleads for you to enter not wanting to get into trouble and you do so feeling Shane evaporate from your arms. Desperate to know where he went you are dragged inside by Amy who is adamant about taking you to your station. You walk through the large warehouse seeing all the other kids slaving over ancient looking technology piecing it together. Amy places you by a small table with several large pieces of metal, plastic and stone.

“You need to clean the metal and plastic pieces and brush down the stone ones” she says pointing to the cleaning fluid, rags and brushes. “You then need to look for pieces with this symbol” she says pushing a piece along the table to reveal a strange looking symbol carved into it; it looked like a triangle with a trapezoid passing through it and in the centre was a pentagram. “Make sure its all perfectly clean … please” she added bowing her head before running away to her own work station piled high with her own materials.

You must have a lot of questions and the woman wasn’t around for you to ask, if you could brave her cold stare again, it seems you’ve got work to do and as Shawn said, the punishment for not working was far from good.

The Maze of Shrubbery

empoleon dynamite ~Damn this maze was confusing you already, you had met a dead end and lost Ventress all in one moment. You yell after her not amused by her games but get no response in return. Backtracking the way you came you thankfully spot her staring down a new path, one that you’re sure wasn’t there before. Where the hell had that come from? Before you can think over your questions you spot Ventress heading off down the new path and hurry to follow her only stopping when you hear a rustling behind you. Noticing eerily that the entrance to this path was no longer there, thorny bushes blocking the way as if they had always been there you knew that there was something going on; it couldn’t be you losing your mind in this creepy mass of green. You wondered whether the maze had moved of its own accord or whether some ghostly spirit was messing with you. You felt your heart race as you nervously backed away turning around to see Ventress move past a corner and out of view not bothered one bit by the crazy maze. Not wanting to lose her you dart after her being careful of the stray vines on the path and run around the corner.

Ventress was lost in her own little world as she moved through the maze her gaze focused on the path ahead and you catch up to her thankful that she had not gotten to far ahead. Walking next to her your gaze drawn to the savage Lileep you notice how focused she seemed on her path and how unfazed she was by the strange shrubberies surrounding her; it was as if she was in an environment that totally suited her type and personality. This time rather than reaching a another dead end you reached a T junction with two possible options to take, both looking rather similar, neither giving hint that it was a more dangerous path than the other. As you think over your choices you see Ventress waddle off down the left path and stare after her in annoyance, it felt like she was commanding this adventure and you were left with the feeling that she would not listen to you should you choose another path. Looking back to the right path you nearly fall back in shock to see it no longer there, a mass of green vines and bush blocking the way leaving only one option. This was getting weirder by the minute and though Ventress felt comfortable here you were anything but.

Heading after her your gaze shifting between the path ahead and the bushes behind you kept wondering what was causing all this. Suddenly you hear a rustling in the bushes up ahead and wonder if you were going to see them move this time. Instead a blue and red plant leapt out to stand before Ventress with a pissed off look on its face. The Gloom had tears in its eyes as it screamed at Ventress waving its little fist angrily and Ventress seemed disinterested by the flower Pokemon ignoring its threats. You took a guess that this Gloom was related to the Oddish she had not long ago strangled to death by the deathly look it gave her and the threats of immense pain it spoke of. It seethed at her attitude and spat out a glob of Acid that soaked Ventress making her wince and changed her attitude, but not one the Gloom would of liked, now she was furious and ready to kill this plant for daring to attack her. You have two pissed off Pokemon to contend with stuck in an ever changing maze, this was not a good situation whichever way you look at it.

Vestige Town

Tyranidos ~ The Mansion was becoming increasingly popular with so many curious trainers pushing past their fears to walk its dark paths. You were no different and despite the horrid and morbid stories of atrocities committed in the Mansion’s past the desire to explore the unknown was enough to draw you near. You had chosen a bitter day to travel to the Mansion as the frigid wind crept over you softly, enough to make your skin bumpy and brings shivers down your spine. Dark clouds smothered the sky blotting out what little blue there was and the rain was quickly beginning to fall. Walking through the forest you tried to convince the young Aipom on your shoulder that this was going to be worth it, that a little fear would only make you stronger but as the heavens ripped open and lightning arced across the sky thunder booming shortly after Lakshmi was far from convinced. You were even beginning to second guess your decision to travel through this dark part of the world and hurried towards the Mansion.

Walking through the open gates you felt the cold grow more intense, the shadows dancing scarily across the decrepit old building. You shake nervously as you reach the doors barring entrance to the main building and pull on the handle, the wind whispering to you from within. With a frightened yelp you let go of the door and run as fast as your legs can carry you in the opposite direction collapsing under a large tree in the grounds trying to calm your nerves. You must have been mad to even consider travelling here. Picking yourself back up you quickly move back down the path and out of the gates shutting them behind you feeling a little better just to be that distance away from the old building. Walking back into the forest feeling safer more the distance you added between you and the Mansion you stop as you spot an old sign pointing to a beaten path jutting off deeper into the undergrowth, it hinted that a Village lay nearby and you suddenly feel excited. Your journey here could turn out to not be a waste after all and despite Lakshmi’s desire to leave this continent entirely you head down the path your Aipom shivering in fear, a deep dread filling her belly before she reluctantly bounds after you.

This path seems to be darker than the last if it was even possible but the trees were at least protecting you from the harsh rain, but not from the wind which had picked up the closer you got to the village. Lakshmi was clinging to your shoulder keeping her eyes focused ahead trying to ignore the faces and shapes she saw in the shadows. You were just glad to have found an alternative to the Mansion that was in your mind far less eerie and fear-inducing. The trees began to thin out as you leave the forest and enter a large clearing and before you loomed the dead village, Vestige Town. You slowed your arrival as you took in the remains of a once great and thriving village now only a skeleton of its former self. The entrance was marked by a crumbling wall that seemed to encircle the entire town, the bricks showing less signs of age damage suggesting that it was erected much later than the buildings within. The sky was hazy with a thinning grey fog that was slowly ascending and fading to blur into the murky clouds. The rain poured down upon you with your temporary shelter gone and you decide that standing still would only bring upon illness in this weather and walk past the entrance into the town.

The buildings you passed were tall and despite their ruined state you would guess that they had once been impressive, after all they would be the first sight travellers would see upon entering the village. You were wisely careful of where you walked with each building and monument appearing more and more dangerous, some loose pieces of cement and brick dislodging as you passed, echoing through the silence as they crashed into the ground startling you both. With only the moon for light which was obscured by the dirty clouds above you peered into the darkness of the street as you walked wondering how you were going to make out your new surroundings. As you just about make out a corner, gingerly touching the wall of the building next to you for guidance you take down the next street. Walking in the middle of the road finding this the safest route you suddenly feel Lakshmi shift on your shoulder her gaze drawn away. Following her gaze you see a blink of light in the distance of another street. Peering down the road you see the light flash again, a mild hint of pink illuminating the surrounding buildings. It blinked on and off several times, was it possible there was a working street lamp in the deserted town? Whatever it was, it appeared to be the only sign of life amongst the rubble.

The Golbat dived at Jessica as she spoke, she ducked, the sensation of their wings whistled over her neck and she shivered. They were hungry. Their eyes were insane, ravenous, their bodies crumpled and shrunken like fine paper stretched over bones. Veined wings like vellum parchment, leathery fronds almost, barely held them aloft. They were driven by starvation, obviously they hadn’t obtained a decent meal in a long time. For a second, Jessica almost felt sorry for them. Almost. Then she remembered they were trying to eat her right now, and sympathy vanished instantly from her heart like blowing out a candle flame.

She commanded the Abra-droid to continue, and it responded. Hovering towards her arm, it was nearly prevented by another swoop, unintended. The Abra-droid sedately carried on, unperturbed by the attack, as it evenly applied the gauze to the wound and bandaged it neatly. The other Golbat made a determined swipe at the robot, deliberate and swifter this time, a silver-winged bullet, an aimed shot from the darkness. Jessica screamed, she grabbed the robot just as it was about to strike. Her scream was matched, for at that moment lightning crackled suddenly and brilliantly throughout the bat’s body, attracted, amplified even by the metal sheen. She looked past the shrieks and flashes to observe Gumpy standing resolutely, glaring towards the flailing brightness, his moustache still sparkling from lingering static. She was thankful, though she realized the call was close. Had the electricity jumped from the threshing bat to the Abra-droid’s circuits, or even to herself, the results could have been disastrous. She cast Gumpy a look of warning, beseeching his carefulness for next time. Meanwhile, the Golbat fluttered feebly off to recover, moaning in pain.

”What would you like to do with the blood sample?” The Abra-droid spoke in a clear, perfunctory fashion, which drew Jessica from her shock back into the lucidity of reality. She glanced around, realized the weight of the manual in her lap. It had almost become a part of her. She consulted it hastily, scanning cursorily through the options. One of them read: “FBC analysis (inc. tumour and toxin markers)”. She perused it again, more conscientiously, and determined the choice to be the most appropriate for analysis. She punched in the numbers too quickly, her hand shaking overly with anxiety. She breathed out in relief as the Abra-droid confirmed her selection and its arm buzzed, drinking the blood from the back of the syringe into its system before rising and drifting slowly off towards the wall, scanning for a waste bin to dispose of the needle.

A changing of shadows overhead, and Jessica glanced up in panic to watch the Golbat turn and dive again towards the robot, screaming with murder in their hearts, emptiness in their outstretched claws. Gumpy began to gather energy and frost into a shimmering globe, and the girl once again implored him not to strike the android. He nodded, judged his aim, and fired. The Golbat screeched and rocketed out of the way, having learned from before, so the beam collided with the wall instead, freezing over a section immediately. Abra-droid luckily bent down at the right moment to drop the needle in the wastebasket, barely avoiding the frigid ray as it instantly chilled the air overhead. It took no notice of the abrupt drop in temperature as it calmly crossed its legs and closed its eyes, dropping into a meditative state in order to study the blood, humming even in dull concentration.

“30 minutes for analysis completion,” it intoned coolly, and Jessica gasped in horror. How could she keep it safe for half an hour? She glanced towards Sam, possibly for help, but he was only watching the displays of ice and electricity with marvel, oohing and ahhing over the impressive show. God, she would like to kick him right now.

Nevermind him. A Golbat had bent its wings and was flying at breakneck speed towards Gumpy, ramming him in the gut before he could react. The Swalot grunted, but mostly due to surprise than pain. Before he could even respond, a knife of air slashed his flank and he stumbled. He tried to accumulate voltage again to retaliate, but he wasn’t sure who or where to aim at as evanescent shadows flit deceptively at the corners of his vision. A screech from behind startled him, breaking his focus. Taking advantage of the opening, the second Golbat fluttered in front of the Swalot’s eyes, meeting them, holding them in a hypnotic stare. Gumpy’s eyelids drooped and he yawned, gradually drifting off. Reluctantly, his fading consciousness slowed into dreams, absence, slumber.

Jessica blinked, amazed and now fearful. There was nothing left to stop these creatures from coming for her now. They remained at a distance, hovering, taunting, grinning, circling slowly. They were fast, efficient, but most of all organized, understanding of each other. Now, with their semi-stillness, she realized they were a pair: one was larger, with broader, heavier wings, deeper fangs, male. The other one was smaller, diminutive, more deadly, female.

She screamed. She, that is, meaning the Golbat. She screamed, jaws wide open and salivating, and eagerly dived at Jessica, who screamed as well and threw her arms over her head, dropping to her knees. She waited, inevitably, for pain, puncture, death. Any one of those seemed probable. However, none of those possibilities occurred. Instead, there was a cracking, followed by another scream – not her own. She opened her eyes, and saw the male bat glaring off to her right. Before she could follow the resentful gaze, a black thunderbolt raced suddenly by her vision to strike the Golbat, flinging him after his partner. She hardly noticed the brief, unforeseen flash of night until it had conquered its target, so fierce and quick it was. She turned, like a trance, seeing Sam silently approach, his arms outstretched towards her.

“No one touches my Jess,” he declared, his eyes serious for a change. The Golbat hovered out of range, chattering quietly as they gauged the unpredicted threat. “I’ll protect you, beautiful,” he whispered gently, puffing out his chest, as if he expected to appear heroic. Ha. Some hero, who only decided to lend a hand when it’s convenient for him. Well, at least it was good timing. She glanced towards Gumpy, who was still snoozing peacefully away. He had her Pokéballs too. Darn. She could try to get to them, but that would require exposing herself to the Golbat’s starving lunges, a prospect she wasn’t much inclined towards, she thought as she stared at their dripping fangs.

“Sam, can you try to distract them with CONFUSE RAY? If you can, maybe you can immobilize one of them with MEAN LOOK, and then put it to sleep with HYPNOSIS. Please?” she added, though it sounded a little stupid of her to say at that point.

There wasn’t time, or any use really, in contemplating the implications of the word “my”. She needed to act as well. Wake Gumpy up somehow. She ducked again, this time for her bag, which had been waiting, unnoticed, on the floor. She fumbled with the zipper, her fingers were nervous, twitching, as she rifled through, searching for anything useful. She couldn’t remember the last time she stocked up on supplies. Even if she had an Awakening potion, she knew she would have to administer it to Gumpy herself, and that again required crossing into risky territory. Something long-distance, preferably. A flute, that was it. Did she have one? She searched deeper, frantically, wishing she had organized her belongings more efficiently.

She pulled out two flutes, red and black. She tried to remember, blue was for waking, damn. Red was for dispelling attraction, black was for…

Black was for repelling wild Pokémon, she remembered. She knew that it prevented encounters, but maybe it would work to deter confronted Pokémon as well? She figured it was worth a shot. Honestly, just about anything was, at this point. Also, don’t bats rely on echolocation? Maybe a high-pitched sound would mess their hearing up somehow. She was grasping at straws, but she needed to find a way to keep the beasts occupied for 25 more minutes, apart from trying desperately to keep them away from herself. Heck, maybe at least some form of noise would wake Gumpy up regardless.

She tremblingly raised the Black Flute towards her mouth, wet her lips, pursed, and blew.

As the boy answered Zak's probing but completely necessary questions about the mysterious woman who had employed Amy to lure them to where they were now, his heart dropped more and more with every answer. It was almost as if his emotions were ready to completely explode within him, something had to be done about this woman, her intentions needed to be found and Zak, being quite courageous, was sure he would be the perfect person to rebel against her and get to the bottom of all of these bizarre happenings. He would wait until he had actually met this person, however, before he began to formulate a plan of action.

"Thank you..." Zak whispered, his queries all answered to the best of the young boy's ability, now he had stopped talking, Zak's mind became a complete flurry of ideas and even more questions, but questions he knew couldn't be answered by anyone bar their captor who he was sure wouldn't want to talk to the likes of him but he had to at least try, not only for his own sake but for the sake of the other children, including Amy. After all, he thought, she was only doing what this woman requested, who knows what could have happened to her if she hadn't have co-operated.

“Lets play, we don’t have much time before she comes back we better make the most of it before we go back to work,” the boy spoke once again, bringing Zak back from his seemingly never ending trail of thought, "Alright..." he replied, the sooner the time passed, the sooner 'she' would arrive. Walking over to the other children, he tried to muster a smile, he didn't want to seem unpleasant but he was sure they would understand how he was feeling, they were all in the same boat after all.

“Is this the new kid Shawn?” a boy spoke up, Shawn had spoke of him earlier as Tommy, the boy who's Rhyhorn had been reverted to an egg, much like Shane. “Yeah this is …” he stopped, realizing he didn't even know Zak's name, "My name is Zak..." he spoke quietly, even raising a hand to give a little nervous wave to the other children. Noticing the egg, a few children look at him with a sudden sympathy in their eyes, they knew exactly the feeling. Tommy speaks up, inviting Zak to place Shane's egg near to his Rhyhorn egg, if he wants for safe keeping, which he immediately does, placing it ever so tenderly on the asphalt before returning to the group.

After picking up the game with the rest of the children and actually enjoying himself for a little while, Zak noticed the boy in possession of the ball suddenly drop it, his face filling with apparent fear, he sensed exactly what was up and as he spun around, he was right. A young woman appears at the entrance to the playground and as she does so, all of the children form a line before he. Realizing it would be best for him to do the same, Zak latches on to one end of the group, fitting in with them as best he can. She seemed to be in her mid-twenties and was dressed in a mixture of black garments. Her nails looked rather immaculately kept, each one manicured and painted a shining black colour. Looking up, he noticed Amy clinging her Teddiursa tightly to her chest, so tight that it looked rather uncomfortable, squirming in her arms.

"...woah.." Zak whispered as quietly as he could under his breath, this woman, despite how young she actually turned out to be, was terrifying. Her cold eyes fixed on him as she stopped examining the other children and he swallowed deeply. A similar wave of nervous sickness came over him, much like when he had arrived at the mansion as a seventeen year old boy with his ghost pokémon at his side. Clutching onto the Shuppet egg as if it was protecting him, his eyes met with hers before returning to the gravel at his feet. As he did so, she gave a sinister smile to her comrade child, Amy, before speaking for the first time.

"Well done, Amy..." she spoke, her voice just as chilling as her presence. Zak looked up to see her patting Amy on the head, tears streaming down the young girl's face. He knew she didn't like helping this woman, but he also knew she probably had no real choice on the matter. “Show him to his station, all of you back to work. Work hard and you’ll get your next break with your Pokemon” she spoke once again, pointing one of her perfectly kept fingers towards Zak who held his breath. In his mind, he was in conflict. He knew he had to get to the bottom of all this, but this woman was actually terrifying, he would have to be exceedingly strong of will to even speak to her, let alone attempt to bring her down.

All around him, the children began to make their way to the warehouses to begin working once more and as they did so, their pokémon seemed to vanish right before his eyes. Reluctantly, he too walked towards the warehouses, his mind full of questions once more at the sight of the disappearing pokémon. He noticed Amy stop, kiss the Teddiursa on it's head and continue forwards, the bear pokémon disappearing from her arms, tears streaming down her face once more. Knowing it was going to happen to him also, he began to walk towards the warehouse door, ever so slowly but surely and just like that, Shane's egg vanished from his clutches. "...no.." he murmured, a tear spilling down onto his nose before dripping off and on to the cold ground. Looking around the dimly lit warehouse, he spotted all sorts of strange contraptions, it seemed the children were working with some sort of ancient technology, separating and cleaning various implements here and there.

“You need to clean the metal and plastic pieces and brush down the stone ones” Amy murmured to Zak, pointing towards a gap which was obviously reserved for him. On the table were rags, cleaning fluid and a brush. "You then need to look for pieces with this symbol” she spoke once more before showing him a cleaned fragment with a strange looking symbol carved into it. It appeared to be a triangle with a trapezoid passing through it and in the centre was a pentagram. “Make sure its all perfectly clean … please” she murmured before returning to her own station to get on with her set work too.

As he sat down in front of the task he had been set, he began to think in depth again, why were they having to do this? They were pokémon trainers, they should be adventuring, having fun and overcoming various challenges, not being locked up in the grounds of a mansion and made to clean ancient pieces of metal, it just wasn't right. Standing up, he spoke loud enough for the rest of the children in the room to hear him, "Why are we doing this? Why have YOU been doing this? We can't stay here, it isn't right!" his voice becoming louder and louder, he seemed to lose himself, what if the woman had come back and seen him giving this speech, he just didn't care anymore. "Amy, Tommy, Shawn, please, we need to put a stop to all of this, this woman needs bringing down a peg or ten...Are you with me..?" His voice quietened as he reached the end, he knew they probably wouldn't come along with him but he had to try his best.

"What happens if I leave here? I'm not even going to stay here like some sort of slave, none of us deserve this sort of burden. We're pokémon trainers and we need to show this woman that messing with us is not a good thing..." He finished, leaving his workspace and waiting eagerly for someone to reply, he could attempt to go alone but the more people he took, the more chance he had of succeeding.

Thanks for taking me.

Tyrant quietly and slowly walked down the path, examining the collapsed buildings on either side of him. He could tell that these buildings were once great and had been in great use, as they were the first things to see once entering the village. Tyrant could feel Lakshmi shudder on his shoulder as he passed through the town. "Don't be scared, Lakshmi, this is not as scary as the mansion. No voices, no life at all, really. Besides, it's pretty quiet." Tyrant said, reassuring the monkey. However that didn't help the little Aipom as she continued to jump at every little pin drop of a noise. "At least we're not really in the rain, these trees do a good job at blocking it." Tyrant said, being as optimistic as possible.

Tyrant reached the part of town which was more dangerous. The old buildings were still there, however, there were collapsing constantly. Pieces of brick and cement were falling off of these big buildings, landing close to Tyrant some of the time. Tyrant was careful to avoid these falling fragments of the buildings. For some reason, it kept getting darker and darker as Tyrant continued to move along, so it became harder for him to walk forward. He groped against the walls of the buildings, narrowly dodging the danger while still feeling his way around. He suddenly stopped feeling Lakshmi's shivers of terror and felt her shift her attention. "What's wrong, Lakshmi? Or should I say, what's right?" Tyrant asked, looking in the direction that she was. In the distance, Tyrant could barely make out a light of pink, flickering light.

"I wonder if it's just an old street light that still works." Tyrant said, walking towards it. Lakshmi appeared to be mesmerized by the light, and Tyrant couldn't blame her. "This light just seems so...attractive." Tyrant said, walking slowly towards the light. He still couldn't make out what it was, and it appeared to be the same distance constantly, even though it was Tyrant had gotten a good bit closer to it. "Why...can't...I get...to this light." Tyrant softly asked himself, not really noticing that he wasn't moving at all.

To add insult to injury Birdie had inadvertently knocked Drapion into you, the large corpse falling down to nearly crush you with its dead weight. As you felt all the air leave your lungs and the world start to haze around the edges the weight lifted and Drapion was thrown from your body into its casket. Drawn from your shock to see Louis, his eyes returning to their normal brown colour smirking at you, you pull yourself up wincing in pain still the human pin cushion. Louis commended you on your bravery even if it was a foolish idea. Pulling the barbs out Birdie rushed over to you anxiously a guilty look written on her face. As you finish removing the clear barbs you shakily pull another Pokeball from your belt, not wanting to risk any more pain for either you or Birdie and release the creature inside. Squirt roared his small jaw opening wide as he stretched and quickly set into a battle stance. You ask him for assistance, Birdie looking relieved to have the help and offer him a pink treat to eat. Upon eating the rare candy his eyes widened before a white light engulfed his form. The light soon faded and left in place was a much larger Pokemon, a green Croconaw snorted and grinned ready to dish out some pain. Louis grinned over at the strong Pokemon you had released and continued on with his battle wincing as Embers raced over his fur.

Drapion had picked itself and roared loudly angry for the punishment it had taken. It turned to face the three of you and launched itself forward its arm glowing black and swiping at Squirt hard with its Night Slash pushing him back but still standing. Squirt growls as pain runs down his arm and manages a confident smirk at zombie Drapion, a smirk that said it was going to have to do more to take him down. You feel his confidence rub onto you and Birdie and with orders to combine their attacks they do just that. Squirt opens his large jaw and a powerful jet of water shot forth slamming into Drapion with enough force to throw it into the wall opposite the water streaming down along the floor as the zombie struggled, screaming as its skin came off in chunks. Birdie set to motion quickly and released her own powerful attack and with a flap of her wings let loose a harsh blast of ice snow and sleet that chilled the room down significantly. The Blizzard rushed over Drapion and it roared as yet more skin was sliced and ice cold snow entered the wounds. Soon its body froze over its face trapped in an eternal scream.

Louis shaking off the fire attack he leapt forward getting into Charmeleon’s face cracking it with his Double Hit with his tail before transitioning straight into Fury Swipes. Leaping back he observed the damage, Charmeleon holding its claws over its face, huge welts carved into its flesh leaving one of its eyes hanging by a thread. Not content to leave it there Louis leapt up avoiding a Slash attack before spinning mid air and landing back down in a hard Bounce knocking Charmeleon clean out.

Louis grinned and sauntered his way over to you and you both stare waiting for something to happen. Louis saw Drapion frozen against the wall. He sighed and rolled his eyes before they glowed blue again. Charmeleon lifts off the ground and with a flick of his tail Louis sent the zombie lizard crashing into Drapion smashing the ice into hundreds of pieces, each containing a piece of its corpse. Level up for Birdie. The ground rumbled and an intricate symbol glowed on the ground before a section of the floor gave way revealing a set of steps leading down.

“Not bad ‘uman, Delibird, but next time you needz to finish zee job eh” he said before walking down into the darkness. It would take a lot to get this monkeys approval. Plucking up the courage you follow him down the steps after all you had gone to the effort to defeat those guards. It was very dark with the only light being that which came from above and you struggled to find Louis when you see a flash of fire around his tail touch a large basin the oil within lighting up. Suddenly the walls sprung to life as the torches lit of their own accord revealing the large room with several doors lining the walls. The floors were made of smooth pale stone and cobwebs hung from every corner swaying from the slight breeze coming from the entrance. Louis walked over to the first door and observed the worn carvings up the sides shaking his head forlornly.

“It az been so long zince I waz last ‘ere. The writing az faded and I cannot recall which door lead where.” he says as you approach.

“Well it iz your tour ‘uman, I’ll let you decide which way we go,” he says folding his small arms. There were 3 doors to choose from and who knows what would lurks down each path.
Standing before the shattered remains for the Drapion corpse, Tim felt a sense of relief before his pain reemerged. The adolescent trainer winced from the pain, to which Birdie and Squirt quickly responded to.

"I'll be fine guys, thank you for all the effort you put into this battle." Tim gave his partners a huge smile. Louis came from behind Tim and stated, "Not bad ‘uman, Delibird, but next time you needz to finish zee job eh?" Tim decided to take this as a complement and Tim also commended Aipom for his fight by saying, "You weren't so bad yourself." shortly followed by a light chuckle.

Suddenly, Squirt collapsed to his knees and began to breath very heavily. "Squirt!" Tim shouted, immediately going to his aid.

"Croc... naw." breathed Croconaw, Tim realized that Squirt is probably very tired, after having to hold so much more weight and blasting a powerful attack.

"Are you tired Squirt?" Tim asked the Big Jaw pokemon in a worried tone. "Naw!" shouted Squirt, trying to show that he wasn't tired, but Tim knew better. "You can't fool me Squirt, it's okay to need rest." Tim said as he pulled out Squirt's pokeball. Squirt eventually gave in and returned to his pokeball for a well deserved rest.

Tim then looked up to Birdie, but she seemed to be very insistent on remaining outside of her ball with Tim and Louis. "You sure you want to keep going Birdie?" Tim asked the Delibird, to which she replied with a nod.

As the three of them regrouped, torches began to lite on their own and three passageways appeared. Tim looked in awe as he thought about how these passageways just appeared out of nowhere. Louis decided to leave the choice of which direction to go with Tim. The trainer hesitated going back and fourth between the center and right passageways, but Tim knew what direction he wanted to go.

"Let's go that way." Tim said as he pointed a finger to the left passageway.

How could he have forgotten the most important rule about battling?! Always think about what the attacks will do before you call them out. Oh well, time to think of a new strategy. There were five pokemon participating in the battle and he knew he had to accomodate for his allies and make it hell to his enemies. He considered what he should do next and began thinking about the massive size of the enemy. Thats when the idea hit him. Hard. A pokemon that big would have trouble moving around in a drier environment, and although he couldn't turn the whole ocean into ice he could probably freeze the area around the Wailmer.

He looked at Pan and Maria, and began giving them his idea. "Look at that Wailmer, its huge isn't it? Let's take advantage of its supersized proportions. We need to freeze all the water around a single one and focus our attacks on it. We keep doing that until were through with the first and continue with the second. However if we focus on one we will be giving the secaond pokemon an opening, we need two pokemon for offense. I say Freeze and Vaporeon attack the first Wailmer, we should leave the defense to Pan and Bellamy." Tyson didn't like the idea of Pan being left to defend them but he was trying to give Pan a chance to impress Maria.

He looked at Mortimer, who was looking bored at the fact that he couldn't play with the young Wailmer. He began telling him the plan before he cut in, {Save it, you want me to do a triple set of Icy Wind to make the ice less likely to melt.} Tyson had forgotten that Mortimer could use psychic messages to speak his mind, and he nodded at what the floating ghost had said. For one of the younger members of his team Mortimer was more intelligent than the rest. He looked at Valor and realised they needed to distract the young Wailmer. "Hey Valor, please distract the Wailmer with some of your awesome dance moves, or... something. I know, try to use a Water Pulse to make water rings and ram through them. Just distract it somehow."

He looked at Freeze and began shouting his orders: "Hey Freeze! We have a plan, and it involves your powers to freeze the Wailmer. Focus on one and use ice energy of a Blizzard to freeze the whole area around it. Mortimer will be cooling down the area with icy wind so take advantage of it. When you're done with that I want you to use Ice beam to cool it down further. If it does freeze get in close and hit it with the most powerful Hyper Beam ever." Freeze nodded, "Go!"

I hope this works.

Whilst he’d pictured the day much differently, a pulse of adrenaline was rushing through his veins as the clamor of twisting vines racketed through his lobes. One moment he’d be at a dead end, the other, he’d be opened to a completely different alleyway. This was all making him quite edgy, and the fact his partner was gallivanting around the labyrinth in ecstasy, Wes was feeling ever more uncomforted. Ventress was sure to keep the peeved trainer on his toes by aimlessly scurrying through each and every trail of shrubbery. The kid wondered how such a naturally slow Pokémon was running circles around him whilst he felt ever more mislaid. Having followed the eerie screeches emitting from Ventress, he trudged over the brash lianas before reuniting with the Lileep for a subsequent time. Although Wes was prepared to consume the Pokémon in her Pumpkin ball, the T junction above caught his eye. Both equally eerie, the trainer bit his lip as he tried to weigh up which way to go.

“Ven, can’t we just slow do-“before he could finish his sentence, the fossil started trudging down the leftmost path. Wes felt like ripping his hair out at the complete disobedience. She didn’t seem to understand the human tongue, perhaps he was too inexperienced to tame such a anabolic creature. Reluctantly in tow with Ventress, Wes shuddered as hedges switched positions again. He imagined the maze as its own sentience, if so it must have bee gaining quite a chuckle from the young trainer’s misfortune. Breaking his chain of thought, the bushes ahead began rustling passionately, Ventress waddling over for a look at the nearby ruckus. Upping his pace, Wes was quite distressed to see another fruit-shaped creature, this one looking much more hostile than the previous. Tears trickling down its cheeks, Wes concluded she was grieving over the loss of a smaller family member. Wes was quick to catch on, and felt heartbroken to find he was partially responsible for causing such pain.

“Damn it…” Wes gritted his teeth and irked closer to the grieving Gloom, “Look. What happened was a complete accident, can we just calm down and try to-“ Feeling once again ignored, he sighed upon detecting a hunk of corrosive acid burning through Ventress’ thick hide. He really really wanted to settle things in a civilized manor, but the grunts emerging from either Pokémon showed this was an unlikely outcome. In this case, Wes determined he’d have to be cruel to be kind, even if it meant being exceedingly unethical. The skirmish felt inevitable in the trainer’s head.

“I know you’re a bloody hard ‘thing’ to work with, but if you just listen to me, I’m sure we can ward off the Gloom before things get out of hand”, Wes swallowed nervously, still vexed to whether the primeval shrub could understand him, “Start off by creating a barrier to up your guard, then follow on by constricting the foe with your tentacles and wringing it out!” The young trainer having assisted his orders with hand signals, Ventress did seem to nod gruffly. Wes could only hope the unprepared sign-language was unambiguous enough. Whilst he’d love nothing better than to leave the Gloom be, he could see no other way to do this without showing his authority. In the same respect, Lileep would have a lot more trouble with the second stage of Oddish’s evolutionary line.

Misdreavus Don't look down, You'll fall down, You'll become their sacrifice ~

The Laboratory

lilbluecorsola ~ Gumpy was snoozing lightly by the far wall oblivious to the danger you were currently in and with him protecting your team-mates it seemed that your fate was inevitable; that was until you knight in purple flesh floated forward. Sam floated before you arms outstretched in an over dramatic manner as he valiantly thwarted Golbat’s attacks just at the right moment and though grateful for not being bitten you can’t help but roll your eyes. It was just like him to interject himself when the situation suited, an opportunity to make himself look good for you now Gumpy was temporarily disposed of. Whatever his intentions, pure or selfish he was your only protection now and the only one to give Abra-droid the time it needed to analyze the blood sample.

You ask Sam politely to execute a few of his attacks, naming them from memory hoping Sam would oblige you despite officially being a wild Pokemon. Adding please certainly seemed to help though as Sam looked over his shoulder to see the pleading look in your eye quickly put there to convince him and puffed out his chest again. You had asked him to help you and help you he would, he seemed almost ecstatic that you had treated him like one of your own, trusting him with your life and he obliged. He turned to female Golbat that dove toward him furious that he had stopped her getting her meal and was met black a beam of white light that made her lose her course and fly right into the trolley falling to the ground with a thump, her wing having caught the edge ripped nearly to the bone. Sam grinned rather wickedly at his success but is forced forward into the desk by a hard Air Slash aimed right at his back by the male Golbat making Sam flinch and wince in pain. The now confused female Golbat tires flying with her injured wing and manages to through sheer determination, not feeling the pain with her reduced clarity. She remembers trying to bite something and does, but not you whom were ducked beneath the desk but Sam who was hunched over it, the dark energy from the bite ripping through his form making him groan in pain and swat off the offending creature.

Rooting through your bag for anything that could help wake Gumpy up nearly dumping its entire contents on the floor in your haste you berate yourself for not having stocked up on medicine before your trip here. You fingers grasp onto two cold glass object pulling them out to view, two glass flutes one in red and one in black. You recall that to awaken a slumbering Pokemon and blue flute was required, darn, well maybe one of these could be helpful? A red flute broke infatuation you remember and the black one, it deterred wild Pokemon … maybe that could be useful here! With Sam in a vulnerable state both Golbats, one confused and one crazy with hunger baring down on him now would be a good time to use it. Placing the cold glass to your lips you blew softly a nasty sound resulting from the flute making your wince and almost stop your tune. Maybe it was your terrible playing or maybe the flute was designed to release that noise but you continued the mixtures of harsh high pitched notes playing out. Both Golbats immediately drop to the ground screeching in pain, their super-sensitive hearing making the tune unbearable and unable to block their ears they hold their heads to the ground. Sam was holding his hands over his ears wincing, as a ‘wild Pokemon’ the tune hurt him too and he glared down at you but noticed that both Golbats were immobilised. Keeping his hands firmly in place he tried giving the male a Mean Look his focus was anywhere but on the Gengar. Frustrated he kicked him knocking him onto his back and caught his eye and quickly Hypnotised him to sleep, the Golbat looking thankful for the oblivion it gave him.

With the noise giving you a headache you stop to see a snoozing Golbat and the female even more disorientated than before. Gumpy stirred a little in his sleep before rolling over, it had not woken him but he appeared to be a lighter dream state than before and Sam was giving you a ‘what the fu-‘ look as he removed his hands from his ears.

“15 minutes remaining” Abra-droid said interrupting the silence, you had managed to kill 10 minutes and with both Golbats down there was a good possibility that you’d be able to finish them before they finished you.

The Bathing Rooms

psychopath ~ You felt embarrassment yourself at having given a wrong move to Freeze resulting in him nearly being badly hurt, it was fortunate that Pan and Bellamy were quick to act taking the damage for him. This time you would be more careful and thought hard over your strategies Maria and Pan regarding you with curiosity and a cheeky grin respectively at the pondering pose you took. Oblivious to their focus on you, you get another eureka moment and Freeze’s ice attacks were going to play a major part in this new plan. Turning to face Maria and Pan you informed them of your idea to freeze the Wailmer in place whilst the others attack the second one, rinse and repeat until you have both whales immobilized. Suggesting that Bellamy acted as defence whilst Freeze and Vaporeon went on the offensive, Pan held back a disgruntled look, he appeared to be getting a little frustrated by your orders but Maria seemed to like the idea and he sighed nodding to please her. You go to instruct Mortimer on his involvement in this plan but having overheard you he summarises what you want of him mentally and you nod numbly, how could you forget his psychic abilities? Freeze was ready for action and with his orders clear swims over to his ice board and prepares.

Mortimer floats down and begins to breath Icy Winds on the water surrounding one Wailmer, the whale looking irked by the intruder to their battle. The water grows cold, small chunks of ice floating on the surface but had yet to freeze over. Wailmer growled and released a thick Mist into the air making it hard for Mortimer to see where he’s aiming. Bellamy swims closer fearing that Mortimer may be in line for an attack and prepares to defend him but unfortunately has lost sight of him. You peer into the mist just about making your Shuppet from your higher vantage point and hear a cry of pain as he’s shot right up in the air with a nasty Water Spout that knocks him clean out. Bellamy hears the cry and swims full focus into the unknown preparing to attack, forget defending, the Shuppet was down and with those thoughts throws herself at what she hopes is Wailmer with a strong Body Slam fortunately hitting it but disturbing the icy water Mortimer had caused. This plan was falling apart already and you were now a Pokemon down!

Vaporeon was focusing on the other Wailmer as instructed by Maria and set about attacking it, distracting it away from the other battle with its family. Leaping out of the water its tail glowing as water shimmered off it in waves it swung in the air and slammed the Aqua Tail right into Wailmer’s face making it moan in pain. Vaporeon smiles confidently at its success so far but gasps as it spots the water begin to spin around it getting faster and faster drawing it into the Whirlpool. The young Wailmer was wondering why there was more noise behind it and turns to see the fading mist frowning confused. Squirtle tapped Wailmer on its shoulder to grab its attention once more and shot a glowing Water Pulse into the air the shimmering ball falling back down as Valor smashes it with his tail causing a brilliant shower to sparkle. Wailmer smiled and clapped at the beautiful move before attempting it itself.

With his companions not faring well Freeze moves in to help. The water was still cold from the icy attacks and breathing out a harsh Blizzardthe ice hitting the water but cascading over Wailmer too causing only a portion of the water in front of it to freeze over along with the right half of Wailmer’s face. Wailmer looked alarmed as it tried to move but with the extra weight of the ice making it very difficult it can just about float. Freeze stands up on his board and holding his white paws out draws on all the attack power he has forming a glowing orange sphere before him. Feeling drained he lets the energy loose in a powerful beam that slices through the air throwing the water aside and crashing into Wailmer instantly vaporising the ice and throwing the whale into the ship with the force knocking it out.

The young Wailmer looks on in shock at its family floating unconscious next to it and tears pour down its face. Valor tries to comfort it but Wailmer suddenly rams into him throwing him back. Wailmer looks heartbroken at being betrayed at what it thought was a new friend and powered up that Water Pulse firing it at Valor taking him down injured from the surprisingly strong attack. With the ‘distraction’ out of the way Wailmer floats next to its remaining family member having made its choice to fight for blood been made and glares angrily at Freeze and Bellamy who are sharing worried looks. Vaporeon was still caught in the Whirlpool and with Valor injured and Mortimer floating on the water out for the count it appears as though this stage of the plan was the best one yet!

The Crypt

Music Box~ ~ Although Squirt had played only a small part in your battle his attacks had drained him enough for you to return him to his ball for a rest. Birdie still smarting from the attacks she had taken was adamant about staying by your side as you enter the bowels of the Crypt. Louis waited patiently for you to gather yourself, rather uncharacteristic of the small monkey and lead you down the steep steps into the Crypt. Walking along feeling the walls in the darkness you suddenly see the walls spring to life as Louis uses his Fire Punch to set off the chain reaction and you find that you’ve entered a large round room with stone walls and floors. There appeared to only be 3 options should you choose to continue on and Louis is unfortunately unable to help you as the writing above each entranceway is faded beyond recognition. Giving you the choice you look down each passageway finding them all very similar upon first view and you choose the one on the left Louis hopping towards it and nodding.

“Very well ‘uman, letz explore thiz passage,” he says before grabbing a torch off the wall with his tail and walking down your chosen passage. Following along behind you keep your vision directly on the lit areas Birdie happily waddling next to you as if the previous events had not occurred. Louis seemed deep in thought as he walked exploring each wall and floor as if looking for something. He notices you staring at him and grunts.

“What are you staring at ‘uman?” He asks and you shrug as he sighs. “I az been down thiz passage before and yet I cannot remember what liez around each corner, it iz frustrating me,” he reveals rubbing his little paws up and down his arms still waving the torch back and forth. You console him still thankful he offered to give you a tour even without the memories. As you continue walking down the singular passage Birdie suddenly stops and looks at something written on the wall. Louis backtracks and holds his torch up to reveal something carved into the wall in what looks like French.

“It zeys ‘Even zee dead need protection, beware those who come bearing bad intenzions. They will be respected” he reads out loud rubbing his head.

“It looks like my writing even as a carving … but I do not remember writing this,” he says sounding more frustrated at his poor memory and you can’t help but feel sorry for him. You wonder why he would write such a thing and see him trudging on ahead muttering to himself in French obviously having enough of these taunting pieces of a puzzle he can’t fit together. Birdie leaps after him and not wanting to leave the fading light you hurry too. The passage breaks as a small set of stairs takes you further downwards bringing you into a much wider corridor. Cut into the walls are rectangular indents each with a hardy wooden coffin placed within a small plaque hung over the edge to honour and remember the corpse inside. You bend down to read a few noting some interesting names and messages left from simple ones such as “Barbara Lakin: Now gone but never forgotten” to more abstract ones such as “Harris Barber, a strange one indeed, may his jokes keep the angels laughing”. It seemed that these corpses were loved by their friends and family whilst they were alive.

This pattern continues down the passage before you reach a small open room with a similar feel instead rounded arches are cut into the walls with intricate designs around each one. Louis shines his torch around reading each plaque careful and thoughtfully as if trying to draw some forgotten memories. You watch him move along and go to observe these new coffins when you see Louis stiffen by an archway. Walking over to him you see that the coffin belongs to “Fredrick Charles” and that the coffin is open with no corpse inside, it looks in fact that it was broken open from the inside from the splintered wood. Birdie suddenly sounds rather choked as she squawks softly pointing at something in the corner of the room. Following her gaze you see a figure leaning against the wall arms across its chest as it observes you. You back off pressing your back against the wall even with the distance already between you as the figure moves into the light. His face has started to rot with the flesh going green and black in places, his brown teeth bearing in an open smirk as his sunken eyes regard you. It seems that you’ve just met Fredrick and he looks eerily happy to see you.

The Playground

Pearl’s Perap ~ With Amy walking solemnly back to her own work station you are left with the job you’ve been assigned but your mind is rapt with so many thoughts and emotions. Your heart lurched as you thought of Shane, he had disappeared from your arms as you were brought here and you couldn’t help but wondered where he had been taken to. Feeling tears come back to your eyes your tear you thoughts to the other children in this warehouse working hard and all looking dejected to be here. You can’t help but wonder why they were going through with this, even turned into children they should be playing and adventuring with their Pokemon, why was this woman subjecting you all to this? Feeling compelled to act you stand up from your desk and address the few children gathered here. You ask them why they have been working themselves to exhaustion sounding frustrated especially as they mostly look at you with pity before getting back to work. Clenching your fists your voice gets louder and you try to draw some emotion of rebellion out of them asking Amy, Tommy and Shawn to join you the trio looking at you from their workstations with sorrowful looks, Shawn shaking his head his eyes silently begging you to sit back down. You beg for their help and they tears their eyes away not able to meet yours and continue with their work.

Trying a different tactic you ask them what would happen if you were to leave not willing to be used as a salve by some woman that likes to mistreat children. You find your anger rising, you wouldn’t let this woman push you about and treat you like this even if the others would, you would show her not to mess you and your Pokemon. You leave your workplace and look around finding most of the children working some rolling their eyes at your outbursts whilst others looking at you with familiarity as if they had tried this all before. Shawn had his eyes locked on to you and whispers for you to sit back down, you almost miss it he was so quiet as he looks about panicked. It looked like you would get no-one to help with you cause and decide to go this alone walking away from the work station and towards the front of the warehouse. Shawn looks scared for you and yells for you to return to your work before clamping a hand over his mouth and sitting back down making himself as small as possible. Amy’s eyes filled with tears as she observed you walking past her and through the warehouse gripping her relic so hard she nearly cracked it. You had your mind up to confront this woman and demand your release and search through the warehouse for her.

Each child observes you silently each bracing themselves for something that has you wondering. You suddenly feel a presence behind you and see an Alakazam glaring at you before it grabs you with its strong arms and teleports you away. The children all look amongst themselves shaking their heads before continuing to work. Shawn looks to Amy who’s got her eyes to the ground.

“I did warn him,” he mutters whilst sorting though his pieces.

You blink back against the dark as Alakazam keeps his tight grip around your arms seeing a large ornate chair with that woman sat regally within. Alazakam teleports to her and bows respectfully as she strokes its head her silver eyes locked onto you bringing back that horrid sick feeling that makes you want to cry. She leans forward her pale skin illuminated in the small amount of light in this room her lips brought together in a tight line.

“You will work,” she orders simply and against all the signals your body’s giving you, you shake your head rebelliously feeling her gaze harden and your stomach lurch. You want to run away right now but your feet won’t move, you feel like your body’s dying just by looking at her and breathe faster as your heart reacts.

“Children who don’t work get punished,” she says waving her hand causing Alakazam to teleport behind you once more holding you even tighter making you gasp and struggle. You feel that same disjointed feeling as you’re teleported away again arriving outside in a wide open field in the pitch black of night. Alakazam lets go of you and floats back with a sinister grin on its face.

’When you’ve learnt your lesson you may return to work,’ it says before teleporting away. Looking around you shake still reeling from your second encounter with the woman and take in the setting for your punishment. Apart from the dark and cold it appears to be a wide open field, what was so bad about that? Suddenly you see glowing yellow eyes in the distance staring at you, feral and animalistic. These eyes are not alone though as many more soon follow. You don’t have your Poekmon with you and these eyes look hungry, your punishment is about to begin.

The Maze of Shrubbery

empoleon dynamite ~ Faced with an emotionally out of control Gloom and a carnivorous feral Lileep you can’t help but to feel a little concern and loss of control, especially with your wild Pokemon. Gritting your teeth you decide to play mediator and try to explain to Gloom that the death of its family was an accident and that Ventress didn’t really mean it but with the disinterested, couldn’t-care-less look she held Gloom was only further enraged. You feel that all your words are falling on deaf ears as Gloom spits out a wave of Acid that washes over Ventress making her hiss in pain. With your savage creature quickly reaching that same state of rage you felt that this situation was getting out of hand and fast. It was highly doubtful you would get either Pokemon to back down and so settle yourself in for a fight, you can only hope the Maze doesn’t decide to play another trick on you in the mean time.

Wondering how your going to get your Lileep to even respond to your orders you gruffly get your feelings on this matter clear from the start. You then decide to reason with Ventress hoping that she’ll work out that fighting together you would win this battle. Ventress gives you no sign that she has understood or even heard what you have said, she keeps her focus solely on Gloom who is flexing its fist as its emotions overflow. It gives a war-like cry and charges forward not using any kind of attack, just wanting to beat Ventress with its bare hands. Ventress stares at the quickly approaching flower with a venomous look in her eyes and just as it reaches her she raises her Barrier causing the Gloom to bounce back hitting the ground hard and leaving a rough bruise on its face from the impact. You sigh in relief that she used the move you ordered even if she hadn’t planned to. Amazingly enough she waddles forward her small vines reaching out to ensnare the flower when she winces in pain backing off as small orbs of shining energy seep from her body and float over to Gloom who is glaring at her whilst Absorbing her health and healing the bruise.

Ventress moves forward with much greater speed this time angered by the retaliation and wraps her vine-like tentacles around Glooms body squeezing for all she’s worth. You almost see a smile in Ventress’ eyes as she chokes Glooms just like she did to its family. Gloom wriggles in the grasp gasping for air and begins to look panicked as Ventress really adds the pressure with her Wring Out squeezing with even more force making the flower’s face go a light purple colour. As Ventress begins to shake Gloom violently about a fine yellow powder emits from its flower dusting Ventress with the spores. Ventress suddenly stops her movements her body jerking as she tryes to move unsuccessfully. Her vines loosen with the paralysis and Gloom slips out trying to recover its breath looking quite battered already. Ventress had a looks of deep concentration as she tried desparately to move almost screaming in frustration. She had followed her orders and had caused some good damage to Gloom but was an open target and as you watched her struggle you see a violent jerk of the bushes either side of her and hold your breath for a change in the maze hoping that you don’t get separated from her. Fortunately the shaking stops leaving you with a battle to continue.

Vestige Town

Tyranidos ~ Encouraging Lakshmi wasn’t helping him much as he could tell by the slight quiver in your voice you’re nervous too. Maybe it was the lack of noise throughout the quiet abandoned town, even though there was no one around it didn’t mean that there wasn’t someone hiding around a corner ready to pounce. You’d need to be on guard throughout. Moving a safe distance away from the crumbling buildings you search through the old deserted town for signs of life or movement, something that wasn’t a sign of decay trying to attack you in the form of bricks. As Lakshmi stiffens on your shoulder you follow his glance and see a mild pink light illuminating the buildings in the distance along a new road. You find yourself as intrigued as Lakshmi at the light and wonder if somehow a lamppost was still working, flickering on and off as it revealed its old dying state. Both mesmerized by the flickering pink illumination you find your feet walking themselves down the street, wanting a closer look.

The street was like all the others, long and straight but the buildings were much smaller, more like houses in stature but maintained the same disrepair. Keeping focused on the light you pause when it dies and move when it flickers back on and you relocate it. Lakshmi bounces up and down on your shoulder eagerly as you grow closer to this wondrous sign of life and indeed as you move further along the road, old crumbling cars littered about showing signs of previous chaos, the light grows brighter along with your hope. Suddenly you feel your spine tingle as you nervously turn around feeling like someone or something is watching you. Seeing nothing but the ruins of the street smothered by shadows behind you turn back and continue towards the light.

As the light grows stronger you cannot shake the feeling of being watched, your nerves prickling making you anxious to move faster, your body responding. Walking faster the light drawing you, you hear a soft padding behind you like feet stealthily hitting the road. Breaking out into a jog feeling a real urgency to start moving from this sudden invisible threat you see the light bright round a corner and run towards it and stagger to a halt. In a large courtyard before you stood on a decorative pedestal in the middle of a fountain was the light. A pink orb that shimmered as if made of water illuminated the courtyard bathing you and Lakshmi in light. It was certainly beautiful and unsual and you felt calmer just being nearer and you approached as if no longer walking of your own will. You felt happiness fill you as you stood next to the fountain memories of good times past that had given you that feeling before filling your mind but Lakshmi shaking on your shoulder drew you away from your thoughts. He was staring at the small buildings surrounding the courtyard, and following his gaze you could see nothing the pink light bathing them shadows away and yet that nervous feeling had started to return the longer you stared. Feeling a panic rise as you heard the noise again as if surrounding you growing louder and louder but there was nothing to be seen. Seeing the light intensify behind you looking over your shoulder you can see it swirling faster almost if with urgency and feel a need to get as close to it as possible. It was as if the orb was trying to get you near for protection, but it was just an orb of light, you could be imagining all this, could you?

As the battle began, Arbok's fangs sparkled with electricity as it prepared a Thunder Fang, something Jamie knew would be painful to his Honchkrow, only for the Firestream to scorch at the glassy snake, unfortunately adding to the pain that Thunder Fang sank into Yakuza. As the snake then smashed into the mirror, the screech taking Yakuza by surprise as well as the poison stingers spiking into the Big Boss, the human frowned at the situation. Clearly his demon's pokemon was rather skilled, with the natural offensive ability seemingly bolstered by the glassy exterior, and even with the build, it's ability was still active, not a safe combination. To add to this, it would be highly likely Yakuza would be poisoned by the stingers, and due to Arbok's typing, Psycho Shift wouldn't work as efficiently.

Having a small look around the room, Jamie noticed the confined space, useful in the case of the previous Screech, before looking down at the shattered glass and thought of an idea. If it worked, the battle will be hastened, but if not, then the situation will have grown much more dangerous.

"Yakuza, you okay out there?"

A pained caw made Jamie head to his bird as he quickly pulled a few of the stingers out of the bird before retreating as he heard the ominous hiss of the snake, and decided to put the plan into action.

"Yakuza, give him your own screech before causing a whirlwind to haul him around and to smack him with some of those mirrors, hopefully making a few good cuts in his body, before chilling the dervish with a good ice beam to add salt to the wounds."

As the bird nodded and started to inhale, Jamie took heed and shuffled a couple of steps back, his hands ready to pace over his ears when the screech came...

Sam smiled, puffing out his chest once again. He seemed pleased by the fact that Jess had automatically treated him as one of her own, when faced with a dire situation. Conversely, she paused when she realized his interpretation. She certainly hadn’t meant to give him any ideas. Oh, well. Too late now. At any rate, she needed to focus on the task at hand. Ducking behind the safety of the desk, she prayed Sam would be capable of keeping his word to defend against the Golbat’s attacks, at least until the sample analysis was complete. She bit her lip, a nervous habit. The thought of biting, faintly drawing blood, slowly consuming until there was no more… Best not to think about it.

She turned to watch, peeking out cautiously from behind the counter. The female Golbat was circling crossly, furious she had been prevented. She resentfully lunged towards her grinning obstruction: Sam. Shadow encountered disordering light, with a scream, she inadvertently altered her course, heading instead straight into the trolley. The edge snared her wingtip, slitting it cleanly almost to the pale, thin bone. Jessica winced as the Golbat fell with a sickening thump, writhing in agony as her wing splayed unevenly out on the cold stone floor. It looked like a wretched, torn rag lying miserably in the corner, discarded, disregarded.

Sam grinned and floated, gloating wickedly over his success. Suddenly, the male Golbat emerged behind him, slicing the air at a precise angle, the force of the propelled space knocking the ghost unexpectedly into the firm desk. Jessica gasped and hid in alarm as soon as she felt the support shudder responsively from the impact. She heard a determined screech, definitively female, and ducked instinctively, again expecting Golbat’s teeth to sink hungrily into her skin despite her masked presence. Golbat must have mistaken her target though, as she heard Sam’s groan of sudden pain overhead, followed by an angry swat.

She carefully opened her eyes, and the first thing that emerged into her sight was her backpack, lying forgotten a short distance away. It was here she realized something needed to be done on her part to help the situation. Snatching her bag, she rooted through the contents desperately, even pouring them entirely onto the floor to aid her search. Aha! There were two flutes, but neither of them for waking. Darn. But black, the color of loathing. Could it come in handy here? With Sam in a dangerous position and both enemies fast approaching, now seemed to be a good time to put her hypothesis, or anything that could possibly be effective, to the test.

She blew on the cool glass surface, producing an unexpectedly foul note. She winced, but didn’t stop playing. Her fingers moved randomly across the holes, releasing a series of discordant high-pitched sounds, grazing against her eardrums. Whatever irritation Jess was experiencing was multiplied tenfold for the Golbat, whose hearing was far more sensitive to the point where they screamed in agony, dropping their flight to the earth. Unable to prevent the hostile pitches from entering their minds, they pressed their heads against the ground, rolling and thrashing as if they were trying to dig into the solid stone to escape. Jessica noticed Sam’s confused glare; his hands were also pressuring the sides of his head, and he was cringing visibly from discomfort. She tried to signal apologetically with one of her hands, sustaining the harsh melody with the other. She then pointed hopefully towards the squirming bats on the floor, imploring him to act while they were further distracted.

Sam understood this was opportunity, and, still holding his hands firmly against his ears, tried to catch the male within his cruel gaze. However the Golbat was too much in pain to concentrate on anything singular, easily escaping the Gengar’s halting stare. Aggravated, Sam kicked the creature on his back, catching his roving eye in time to hypnotize the screaming beast to sleep. The Golbat’s eyes closed immediately, looking grateful for the blissful release of silence.

The noise had reached a deafening crescendo on its own, granting the musician a horrible headache as well. She released her breath finally, and the last severe notes collapsed and distuned, fading. On the floor she saw one Golbat slumbering peacefully, whilst the other appeared completely dazed. Catching her breath, she turned towards Gumpy, who appeared to stir slightly, then merely slumped over, still apparently asleep. She sighed. He seemed more restless though, which was a good sign.

Sam uncovered his ears and turned questioningly towards Jessica. She recognized his expression as one of utter bafflement and incredulity.

“Sorry about that.”

She answered sincerely, rubbing her head in slight embarrassment. I forgot he was a wild Pokémon too. Oops.

She didn’t share this explanation with the Gengar, to avoid any further misunderstandings like before. Instead she looked at the Golbat lying numbly on the floor, contemplating the situation. It was currently in their favor. There were 15 minutes remaining, as the Abra-droid punctually announced. With the Golbat immobilized for the moment, there was a good chance they could both be suppressed quickly within that timeframe. She stood up from behind the desk, and turned beseechingly towards Sam.

“Sam, could you please try to put the female to sleep as well with HYPNOSIS? If you can, give both of them NIGHTMAREs when they’re asleep. I’m going to try and reach Gumpy so I can wake him up. If the HYPNOSIS doesn’t work or the male wakes up for some reason, please try to find some way to distract them. Above all, just make sure that neither of them touches the robot. Use whatever attack you see fit to keep them away.”

After considering the three paths in front of himself, Tim decided to travel down the road less traveled, the left path. As the three individuals (Tim, Birdie, and Louis) traveled the long, dark hallway with nothing but a torch to keep them from loosing themselves in the dark abyss, Tim noticed that Louis was becoming frustrated with himself for not remembering. "Could he have amnesia?" Tim thought as his curiosity with Louis grew. "Why is Louis here at this decrepit, old mansion anyway.... Quite a mystery indeed" concluded Tim as the three reached an area of coffins. While Louis begna to look at the names of the deceased people to see if it would jog his memory, Tim and Birdie hesitated to walk further, fearing that something else would jump out of their coffin. "L- Let's keep going Birdie, we've made it this far, we should see it through." Tim said to the winter bird, though it was mainly for himself. By this point, Tim had become emotionally drained with the intense fighting from earlier, from having to see Birdie get hurt, Tim was sick of it; all he wanted right now was to leave, but how could he become a better trainer and friend if he couldn't push through the hard times?

As Tim thought about this, something eerie caught Tim's eyes, one coffin had it's lid removed, a gentleman by the name Fredrick Charles's body was missing. The hairs on the back of Tim's necks rose, goosebumps quickly covered the young man's body, his eyes became cold. Though Tim was pale as a ghost, he tried to fake the bravery to continue. Suddenly, Birdie brought to Tim's attention a rather dead looking man observing the three, Tim lost any words that he could of said all he could do was step back. "Fredrick Charles..." repeated Tim in his head as he slowly walked backwards. "I- It's Fredrick Charles!" Tim shouted as both Louis and Birdie looked on. "W- Why are you s- s- s- still moving? Aren't you... d- dead?" Tim said as he struggled to speak, all he could really do was stare in disbelief.

This was the worst thing that had happened so far. He looked at the field and saw two things he needed to get rid of, as he thought of that he threw a red ball into the water where he saw his beloved ghost pokemon lay there fainted, "Mortimer, Return." He spoke softly and silently, and felt silent tears well up around his eyes. Mortimer was the first pokemon he had hatched from an egg and was a very special pokemon to him. He did hear a voice in his head {Calm down, I'm okay, I just need ress..} He heard the words of his pokemon and wiped away his tears, Time to take care of the match. He looked at the field, Bellamy and Freeze were both able to fight, Vaporeon was stuck in a whirlpool and Valor had doubled over in pain. There were two Wailmer, a big one, and a slighly smaller one. They needed to get rid of the giant beasts. And they needed to do it without letting the ship take any damage. Great. He looked at Pan and Maria, who were probably angry about his last idea. "Look guys, I'm sorry I had the worst idea ever today and that your pokemon is in a whirlpool, but we need to team up on that big tub o lard." He was surprised to not hear someone's voice saying "I don't see your mom."

Looking out towards the field he saw some potential with Valor. "Maria, does your Vaporeon know any moves that might help it break out of Ice? If it does we'll probably let it break out if you let us help you. Hey can't Vaporeon melt into the water and become part of it? Can't it just melt in, swim under and swim back up to the surface?" He looked at the field and thought it was really important to get this done quick. And he also saw a certain white Weavile pick up a little blue turtle into the surfboard. Although he would never admit it, Freeze had a soft side for the younger members of the team and was very parental towards them. "Looks like we have my pokemon together, and Bellamy is able to fight." He looked at Pan, "This is your battle now, you need to help fight the bigger Wailmer. The young one is not as big a threat if it doesn't have an older pokemon to help it." He didn't think Pan was the best choice for an ally, but he was begining to enjoy Bellamy and Pan's antics. "Take all chances to attack that you can, whenever it may be, on either pokemon." He left the other teenager to figure out orders to his pokemon.

"Hey Freeze, you will be attacking now, and I'm going to need you to give it your best shot. Since Vaporeon is out of the match until we can get it out. That's why you need to make sure no stray attacks hit Valor." Hearing his name, Valor's ear perched. Tyson looked at the tiny Squirtle "Yes, you will be in this. We need to free Vaporeon from the Whirlpool, and you shall be the one to do it. Head into the water and speak to Vaporeon if you can , tell it your plan. You shall disrupt the water around the whirlpool with an aqua jet in a circle opposite the way the Whirpool is going, hopefully, the water will unwind and will clear again, If not then get an aqua Ring around yourself, and swim into it, and drag it out with an Aqua Jet." Valor looked at him uncertainly, he was surprised that he had some sort of misssion. His expression showed that he had doubts of himself, and Tyson spoke up. "Look Valor, I know you are young, but I see that youare one of the more mature pokemon I have, and you are doing things at your age that Freeze couldn't do when he was five years older than you. You have proven yourself many times to me before, and this is one of those times. That is why your name is Valor, and not Bluey, because of your bravery, not because of your cuteness. Remember back in Cascadia? We were trapped in a cave full of Sableye, and we almost died, but you led us out safely. I believe in you and so does Freeze, Mortimer, Palladium, Digga', Slice, 'Chador and Thunderfu-" He remembered the fact that he had lost his beloved capture."

He looked at Freeze and began telling his orders. "You are on the Attack, keep all attacks directed at the big one, as it is the biggest threat. Aim at it and try to freeze its brain. If we can manage to distract it we shall be able to get close, and damage it more than we could from afar. When you are done with that get up close to it and Use
Metal Claw and Ice Punch.
Use the Metal claw to create a wound that way we can put Ice in it's bloodstream, and if it works you should be able to hit it with any move you want. It will work well if it well... works well." He looked at the pokemon on the field, his pokemon were doing well and Bellamy seemed ready to fight. "Valor, Freeze?" They both nodded. "Yes, well time to go then."

He looked back at the battle-eager Pan and wise Battler Maria and began to speak. "Reay to fight?"

Wes heaved a deep sigh. He’d never anticipated such a turn of events, feeling quite a scoundrel for ordering his savage Ventress against the Gloom who seemed enveloped in grief. What was he doing? The thoughts kept racing through the young trainer’s head, how immoral the situation was. Nonetheless, Gloom had started the skirmish, her wild frenzy showed no sign of slowing, Ventress would have to stop the shrub for its own good. The lianas brushed past his unwary feet, making the anxious trainer even more edgy. Before him stood Ventress, opposing her was a much larger berry-like creature. Growling and snarling with an intimidating animosity, Wes gulped in angst as they each waited for the other to move. Ventress clearly held the disadvantage in terms of experience, but Wes foresaw she’d surely compensate with her determination and sundry move-pool. Biting his lip in baited breath, Wes hoped that the conflict would be over as soon as possible. With the Maze revolving unsystematically, the chances of a quick battle seemed unfeasible.

Having released his orders, Wes raised his eyebrow rather dumfoundedly at the decrepit shrub. She’d never shown a sign of comprehending the human language, usually emanating odd shrieks that over Pokémon tended to shudder under. She was well and truly a misfit, but she seemed to enjoy her solitude. Wes noted these attributes where the last things he looked for in a Pokémon, why couldn’t she just be normal?… Suddenly! His chain of thought was rudely interrupted by a chivalrous war-cry as the irate Gloom darted toward Ventress with its fists ‘a’ blazin’. Almost gawking in fear, Wes was quickly reassured by a timely barrier in Lileep’s favor, the transparent barricade thumping Gloom like a fly to a window. Slightly relieved, Wes wondered if the old shrub was sharper than she looked… Continuing her assault, Ventress leaned atop of the fallen Gloom with an onslaught of thick tentacles. Showing no signs of overpowerment, the Gloom grumbled boldly at the binding appendages and retaliated with a close-range absorb. Sucking away the plant’s life-force and replenishing its own, Wes was stunned to see a recent bruise on the Gloom’s visage seamlessly disappear.

The opposition was showing no sign of surrender, only adding to Wes’ anguish. Ventress however seemed far more livid than distraught, sending a hardened grimace to the flower-like shrub before waddling forward once more. Her tentacles extended from her vase-like body. Wes grin of endorsement was quickly wiped away as Ventress grappled hold of the Gloom tighter than ever, juicing her in a heartless manor. The bloodlust glistened in her eyes as she carefully compressed her chokehold. It was obvious the scuffle had gotten out of hand, Gloom had switched from her aggressive stance to a cower of sheer panic, a sentiment which Wes shared. The kid felt sick to the stomach as the Gloom tossed and turned in sheer horror, its complexion shifting to a pale orchid. Wes felt tears of empathy trickle down his face, all to petrified to help the pitiable Gloom. Without warning, the Gloom let loose one last plot of desperation, spewing a flurry of golden dust from its blooming appendage. Downing Ventress in the odd spores, the Gloom swiftly loosened itself from the now-stiffened tentacles. Although his own Pokémon had fallen victim to paralysis, he couldn’t help feeling slightly relieved that the Gloom was still animate.

“C-Calm it down Ventress…” Wes uttered in angst, “We don’t want to cause any more trouble… Let’s just try and ward the Gloom off. In this case, we’ll need more bark than bite-” Suddenly, the bushes either side of the battle starting rustling irately, startling Wes once more. Unbeknown to the young trainer, there could be more of a hitch than a single Gloom, he’d have to be more cautious this round. Swallowing heavily, Wes stuttered his way into a sentence again, trying his utter most to block out the eerie rustling.

“A-A-Astonish, Tickle, Mirror Coat,” He’d disregarded the aforementioned strategy. The moves were correct; he just couldn’t string them together in the apt manor. This seemed unimportant in the wake of a catch-22. Unsure what was lurking in the bushes, perhaps Ventress would be faced with a new challenge to overcome.

Deciding to leave the warehouse alone, due to his fellow children not wanting to take part in such a stupid and quite frankly dangerous idea, Zak turned away from the group, even more worried than ever due to being completely alone. Slowly leaving the warehouse, all of the children begin to wince, something bad was going to happen, he knew that now from their reactions and how they refused to accompany him. His assumption was far wrong as a large psychic pokémon materialized nearby, grabbing at him with its human-like claws and making them both disappear in a flash of light.

Thrusting around within the Alakazam's grip, Zak knew he had made the wrong decision but there was no backing out now, even if he wanted to, he had to face up to what was to come. Settling, the scene changed rather quickly into that of a dimly-lit room with a large ornate chair positioned in it. Within the chair sat the woman from before, her eyes glinting as the boy and her companion appeared. Bringing her lips together, she begins to speak in the chilling voice once more, "You will work." Despite his body telling him not to, Zak began to shake his head furiously, he did not want to work, he wanted answers. Seeing this refusal, she smirks and tells Zak that children who don't work will be punished. The idea of this makes his stomach sink and, as the Alakazam repositions itself once more, he feels the same horrid feeling as the two vanish once more.

Regaining himself, he appeared to be in a wide open-field, barely lit at all. The woman was obviously not to be toyed with, wide-open fields were one of Zak's greatest fears as they were and as he stood there, he felt his breathing quickening up. Spinning around, he tried to glare at the Alakazam, who merely grinned before scoffing at Zak and returning to his mistress. Standing alone in the field, he closed his eyes and tried to concentrate on his breathing before opening them once more, he needed to find a way out and he needed to find it quickly.

Looking up, Zak noticed he didn't seem to be alone in the field, sets of glowing eyes were appearing in the distance, he was trapped. Without any pokémon, he began to panic even more, he really could not think what to do. He thought that, as soon as they approached, he would try and find a gap and run off, but that was easier said than done. Panicking, he shouted out, "Go away, I've not done anything wrong, I'm not the bad person, that Alakazam and its mistress are the evil people..." Tears began to stream as he screamed, his voice becoming hoarse. Not knowing what else to do, he sat down on the grass, waiting for the creatures to approach further before he could try and make a get away...

Misdreavus So far away, It's growing colder without your love ~

The Laboratory

lilbluecorsola ~ With one Golbat asleep and the other confused out of her little mind you quickly act to put them out permanently Sam still being your only option in this scenario. Abra-droid reminded you that you had only 15 minutes remaining before it finished analyzing the blood, you just had to hold on that long. Asking Sam politely to use your chosen moves the Gengar seems a little more hesitant to act, a little more wary considering what happened to him the last time he helped you out. The male Golbat was fast asleep snoozing gently looking at peace whilst the female was looking about wildly her stomach growling so loud you can hear it echo throughout the small room. Sam fires his hypnotic beams at the dopey bat but she’s not looking at him, instead she charges forward with a Quick Attack darting right through his gaseous form and knocking right into you as you tried to move slamming you into the desk making you wince in pain as you jar your shoulder on the hard edge. Sam looks down to you and asks you if you’re alright. You wave him away wanting to get over to Gumpy and he frowns a little hurt by the rejection and more annoyed by the blatant attack on you, even though it as obvious that wasn’t the case.

Sam watched as the Golbat flies up hitting the ceiling light in her daze pulling his fist back ignoring your order to cast a Nightmare, he wanted to cause some pain. As she falls he cracks her in her little abdomen with a Shadow Punch that throws her into the far cupboards her body smashing through the wooden door with the force. With the coast clear you crawl out of your hidey hole and favouring your right side make your way swiftly over to Gumpy who’s got a little drool coming from the corner of his mouth leaving a puddle on the floor. You shake him and he grunts swatting you with a flabby arm making you sigh in defeat. Sam meanwhile had not finished his assault, with the female out of the picture for now he hovered over the snoozing male grinning madly. Sticking his tongue out he Licks him right across the face waking him up and making him screech in disgust. Sam cackles to himself, your plan out the window he just wanted to do things his own way, too caught up in the moment. The male Golbat looks around for the female and hisses in anger before letting loose his Supersonic the waves bouncing off the enclosed walls and hitting Sam from all sides. He looks alarmed before a pink haze fills his red eyes as he succumbs to the confusion, this was not good. He looked around in a daze wondering what he was doing in this little lab and spotted the Abra-droid. Giggling madly he floated over to it and began to prod it with his fingers trying to get it to dance it would seem and you yell at him not to do that begging him to be careful but if he was listening to you before, he certainly wasn’t now.

Having been knocked out of her confusion the female Golbat flies out of the cupboard looking rather injured, her torn wing was now bent at an odd angle and she was struggling to stay aloft. Crying out she began to draw energy off Sam with her Leech Life from a distance the olive green orbs melting from his body and being absorbed by her. Sam looks around in shock wondering what had done that only to receive a Wing Attack to the face by the male Golbat. Growling angrily he shook his head back and forth trying to focus on this assailant not able to see it in his haze but spots a large object by the wall. Crying in anger he launched a Nightshade right towards you and you scream in panic diving out of the way as the ghost-like lightening struck Gumpy making him groan in pain. You turn to give Sam a piece of his mind when you see Gumpy stirring before waking up wondering what he was doing lying on the ground. You now had Gumpy awake to use to finish this battle off with Sam off in his own little muddled world you would need him.

“10 minutes remaining”.

The Mirror Door

fishyfool ~ This battle was heated and it had only just begun, time was against you as your reflection steadily made his way after your fleeing Pokemon. Yakuza was suffering after only a few attacks having taken a Thunder Fang and a Poison Sting, the after effects eating away at his body. With this poison slowly sapping his health you’d have to take down Arbok fast or this game may end up in two deaths today. Helping to pull out the barbs from your Honchrow he caws his thanks feeling better for having them out. Arbok wasn’t going to wait for you to finish though and as you pull out the last barb it launched forward wrapping its teeth around your calf Biting down hard. Yelling in agony you fall down trying to pry the snake from your leg but its grip was too strong and its eyes locked onto yours making you suddenly feel tired. You stop struggling as it grinds its jaw doing as much damage as possible before it lets go as a loud Screech echoes through the room waking you from your stupor and giving you a headache being so close to the source. Arbok retreats and Yakuza looks down at you in horror with your leg bleeding fresh blood onto the black floor.

Yakuza seething with rage starts to flap his wings pushing past the pain in his scarred shoulder and whips up his most powerful Whirlwind the winds slamming into Arbok and throwing it into the far wall smashing the glass before they change direction and slam it into the right hand wall destroying those mirrors too. Yakuza keeps this up throwing Arbok back and forth breaking nearly all the mirrors before he collapses forward panting tiredly from the effort of the move. Lying on the ground you feel drained from blood loss and search around for something to wrap your wound with and upon finding nothing settled for tearing up your clothes to bind it. Arbok coils up and through pained eyes you can see several small cracks along its glass exterior. It hisses in pain trying to compose itself enough to attack swaying to a fro before regaining enough balance. It spits out a glob of Acid that Yakuza is fortunate to dodge at the last moment having recovered too. The dark bird draws on even more energy to power an icy sphere in its beak growing in power and size with every passing second. Arbok looks alarmed before it gives you a wry grin planning something conniving. Yakuza launches his attack which arcs across the room like ice-lightning and just as it hits the venomous snake its body shines brightly. The beam hits and Arbok cries out feeling the pain but the Ice Beam snaps off it and heads right back toward Yakuza who caws in shock and screams as his own attack slams into him knocking him to the ground his injured wing freezing over. Arbok is looking a little better though and only part of its chest is frozen but as before its Shed Skin came into effect the exterior glass falling off along with the ice yet those cracks were deep and remained marring its features.

Now both you and your Pokemon are injured and tired and with Arbok still having a slight health and energy advantage on Yakuza you would have to be careful not to lose this fight.

The Bathing Rooms

psychopath ~ This had been your best plan ever and as you looked down upon the devastation below you regretted the choices you made. Although one Wailmer was out for the count the other was still ready to fight and the baby had joined in no longer interested in pursuing friendship with your Pokemon. You had assaulted its family behind its back, it wasn’t happy about that. Mortimer had been KO’ed and Valor had taken a nasty hit leaving him smarting all over. Vaporeon was caught in a Whirlpool but fortunately Bellamy and Freeze appeared well in health if quite tired. Returning Mortimer to his ball, you turn to see Pan and Maria looking concerned and deep in thought and you apologise profusely for the mistakes made so far in this battle.

“This battle is not yet lost Tyson,” Maria said as Pan nodded enthusiastically, you could almost see the cogs turning in his head as he planned his next moves.

Your own mind whirring as you ask if Maria’s Vaporeon had anyways of escaping the Whirlpool as she smiled obviously the pair still having some tricks up their sleeves. Relieved by that reaction you see Freeze pick up Valor and place him on his ice-board from the corner of your eye, at least the older Weavile would protect the little Squirtle. You let Pan know you think Bellamy should tackle the larger Wailmer and though he was getting a little frustrated with you ordering him around he wasn’t going to pass up on a chance to impress Maria. First you make a plan to rescue Vaporeon from he Whirlpool and Valor is quite surprised you ask him to aid you in this endeavour. Looking rather proud at your trust in him he dives into the water and swims towards the whirlpool feeling it begin to drag him inside. Just as it does he lets the water swirl around him and jets off around the whirlpool in the opposite direction and it actually looked like it was working. The whirlpool was beginning to slow down. Freeze was cheering him on but Valor was quickly growing tired. Vaporeon able to act swims up the sides of the vortex and leaps out firing an Ice Beam down to the water forming a jagged platform to land on covering the remainder of the whirlpool. You grow concerned at Valor’s welfare but see him swim out from underneath accepting Vaporeon’s tail up onto the platform looking worn out. Both Wailmer still angered by your attacks charge right towards the platform intending to break it and its occupants when Bellamy appears from above leaping out of the water and Body Slamming the larger Wailmer halting its movements. Valor nervously covers himself with rings of water that he shoots from his mouth feeling even more drained at doing so but as the smaller Wailmer crashes into the ice breaking it in half and sending the duo flying it pops 2 of the rings the healing energy within being absorbed by the Squirtle. Vaporeon recovers fast and Tackles the young Wailmer making in wince in pain.

Freeze had sat by enough and with the larger Wailmer distracted by Bellamy he breathes out a thin layer of ice at the duo. Both of them resurface and Wailmer spots this first and Tackles Bellamy back the Brain Freeze hitting her from behind and she holds her head in pain. Valor swims back to Freeze climbing onto his board and lies down gathering more energy though his health is much better. Freeze doesn’t notice the little Squirtle on his board more concerned by his misfire and wanting to redeem this mistake begins to paddle towards the Wailmer. Bellamy turns around feeling a headache coming on and notices the white Weavile quickly approaching. She croaks in annoyance for the attack and Doubleslaps the smug Wailmer twice around the face before swimming off in a huff. Wailmer looks more bewildered by Bellamy’s attack that he only sees Freeze as he leaps up his claws covered in molten metal and cries out as he slashes down its face leaving a long scratch there. Climbing back onto his board Freeze quickly moves into his next attack of his 1-2 combo and pulls his fist back before slamming it into the Wailmer right on its cut with a vicious Ice Punch the attack freezing over a portion of its face. It looks like it won’t last too much longer the ice penetrating the wound leaving Wailmer looking sick.

The little Wailmer was having its own fight as it recovers from the light hit launching a Water Pulse at Vaporeon, the water exploding on impact but healing the canine with its ability. As the water settles Vaporeon looks refreshed but its eyes are hazy, that direct hit had confused it and it tries to find Wailmer but only manages to hit itself in the face with its tail. The adult would only take one more strong hit and the baby was still fighting strong having only joined the fight late in. Vaporeon was confused but healthy as an ox, Bellamy was holding her head as the icy-induced headache grew and Freeze was looking drained, he would only have a few more strong attacks in him. Valor still had 8 Aqua Rings surrounding him but was also tired being so young. There is still a good chance you’ll end this battle in your favour and so far only a small amount of damage had befell the ship, the Captain will be pleased if you keep it that way.

The Crypt

Music Box~ ~ The empty coffin made your heart fall into the pit of your stomach, the corpse couldn’t have crawled out of its own accord, could it? With Birdie trying to get your attention you draw your thoughts away from the impossible to find him standing in the shadows on the other side of the room. The corpse dressed in the clothes he was buried in gave a small smirk and you suddenly felt sick, goose bumps rising all over your skin. A dead man. A dead man standing before you watching you curiously. Your mind went into shock as it screamed ‘IMPOSSIBLE’ at you yet you knew that it wasn’t. This was Fredrick Charles you even yell it at him in terror as he bows his head slightly in acknowledgement his dead eyes looking at you in amusement. You stumble back pressing against the wall trying to get as far away from the cadaver as possible whilst muttering in fear, how was he still moving? Was he dead? He certainly looked it. Fredrick pushed off the wall he was leaning on walking with a little gait, his left leg had old bandages wrapped around it, he must have been injured when he was still alive. He walked towards you and you pray to whatever God was listening that he didn’t kill you all right there and then but this corpse seemed more interested in Louis. He approached the Aipom whom regarded him with a hint of recognition. Suddenly Fredrick burst forth laughing and picks up Louis spinning him around giving him and brief hug before holding him out at arms length.

“Louis, mon frere it has been too long.” He says looking overjoyed to see the monkey who seemed at ease in his presence.

“You travelled away such a long time ago, we all wondered where you could have possibly gotten to. There were no calls, no letters … though they wouldn’t have reached us down here. Still its good to see you again friend,“ he says placing Louis down the monkey looking perplexed.

“What is wrong Louis? You look like you don’t even remember me, how could you forget this handsome face?” Fredrick asks as Louis shuffles his feet.

“I ‘av forgotten a lot of thingz Fredrick. My mind feelz almost empty,” Louis says sighing as Fredrick looks pensive.

“Whatever did you do to forget about me? We were … no are the best of mates. Come on. You must remember the summer of 95, we left the Crypt and wrecked havoc on the Mansion, you spray painted funny faces everywhere and we were chased back by a group or irate Dusclops. That was a blast … do you not remember?”

Louis shakes his head no looking forlorn as Fredrick frowns.

“Whatever happened you’re back now, the gang will be surprised to see you. Lets go, I can’t wait to see their faces when they catch site of your furry butt,” he says laughing leading Louis away when he notices you still shaking against the wall Birdie looking interested at the walking dead man.

“Who’s the boy?” he asks and Louis looks back to you.

“Oh zee ‘uman. His bird ‘elped me out so I promised I’d give them a tour of zee cryptz, though itz not much good when you cannot remember their layout,” he sighed rubbing his head.

“Well then, if he and his penguin helped you then they’re good by my books. Hey kid, stop shaking already you’re rubbing the stone away,” he says laughing. “Come on, I’ll show you something better than any tour would,” he says beckoning you to follow. Walking through an archway with Louis following close behind Birdie starts to move to follow keen to see what Fredrick was going to lead you to but your feet would no follow suit. You were still in shock over the talking un-dead, and such a friendly one too. Birdie whines at your behaviour and pleads with you to stop being such a coward and come with. She walks off knowing that you’ll follow her at some point and as she disappears from sight leaving you alone surrounded by coffins … full of more dead people. How many more would pop up to say hi? Your legs suddenly feel loose again and you stumble after the party hoping to catch up to them before it was too late.

The group hadn’t gotten far and Fredrick was regaling Louis of stories from their past trying to draw some memory out but was not having much luck. Louis appeared to be enjoying hearing of his past however and urged the dead man to continue. Soon Fredrick turns into a small room that had no door leading away from it, just 4 walls comprising a square. You wonder what could possibly be in this room that was of interest and Fredrick catching your sceptical look grins walking over to the far wall. He places his hands on one of the stones and presses hard the stone moving inwards leaving an indent. He does this several times making an unusual pattern that seems to join on all 3 walls. Suddenly a piece of stone covers the exit and the walls rumble making the ground shake. You look about in awe as the walls begin to shift and open of their own accord, the stones moving in on themselves exposing what lay behind. It just looked like darkness but Fredrick seemed to know where he was going as he plunged head on into it Louis and Birdie following behind. You felt like the odd one out and walked into the darkness too feeling a strange dizziness overcome you as enter. Walking about you feel that your world is being thrown around and around and just as fall over you stumble forward into Birdie who squawks in shock looking as green as you. Fredrick and Louis were smiling at you looking unaffected. You could see some light up ahead; it appeared to be from below the ground line.

“Before we go any further you must be tested. Louis is trustworthy and though I do not doubt his judgement all must go through this who enter this place,” he says vaguely as you try to stop your vision from spinning.

“So what’s it to be boy, the test or shall we go back?” he asks bluntly, if you want to see this place you would have to go with Fredrick’s rules or you could let the coward in you win and head back up to the surface. If you did however you would lose your guide as Louis looked keen on staying with his old friend.

The Playground

Pearl’s Perap ~ Your punishment was about to begin and as the feral golden eyes regarded you with hunger you really wished that you had heeded the other’s warnings. Alakazam had teleported away leaving you alone in this darkness, all that you could tell was that you were in a field and surrounded. You needed to get out of here but how could you when you didn’t even know where ‘here’ was? Alone and trapped, locked within the body of a boy you felt so vulnerable right now. Panic rose filling your chest making it hard to breathe as you regarded the eyes hearing growls begin to accompany them. Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as you desperately thought of a way out of this situation deciding hastily to try and find a gap and run through it. Crying hard now you shout at the eyes to go away and leave you alone. You had done nothing wrong, that wicked woman and her Alakazam were the ones in the wrong here but it fell on deaf ears as barks of laughter tore into the air making your heart lurch. Sitting down you looked all around waiting for the attack to come.

The eyes move into the minimal amount of light shining from the hidden moon and reveal themselves to be a pack of Mightyena. Their mouths are salivating as they regard your form, such a tasty looking morsel. There appeared to be ten in total, more than enough to rip you limb from limb in a matter of seconds. Their feral eyes all locked onto you each describing one emotion, hunger. Grinning sadistically they seemed to be plotting which part of you they would eat first when a form zipped into view floating boldly before you. Your heart lifts at the sight of Shane hovering protectively before you warning the pack of hounds not to try anything. He smiles back at you and you’ve never been so pleased to see him when the Mightyena break forth. Two of the hounds leap for Shane and he turns around in shock falling to the ground as the larger beasts weigh him down. He cries out as their fangs rip into his body pulling apart his flimsy skin The puppet stood no chance and as one Mightyena holds him in his mouth shaking back and forth in a frenzy you scream as his blood splatters on your body, his tattered mutilated body landing on top of you making you stop breathing looking at the deceased form of your friend. Such memories would scar you for life and you push his body off you in shock and cry in sorrow and fear.

’Move slave’ the voice of Alakazam sounds in your head as you look up finding yourself still in the sitting position the Mightyena barking in explosive laughter at your behaviour. It had all been a vision but it still it felt so real and you hold back the bile rising in the back of your throat. Having had enough of waiting the Mightyena all charge forward and you’re forced into action. Two of them try to bit you only to bash heads in their effort knocking you to the ground. You crawl away as the others follow you. One latches onto your leg ripping through the material of your trousers and drawing blood. With blood in the air they howl in fervour driven wild by the smell and taste. You feel one of them charge into you throwing you through the air and you land back hard on the ground in the darkness. Still in a frenzy they snap at one another but one by one they stare at you through the darkness. Now is the time to move before they got their fangs on you again.

The Maze of Shrubbery

empoleon dynamite ~ Though this battle involved one of your own you felt empathy for the downed Gloom. It had shown the same fear and panic in its eyes that you had for most of the trip here and as you watched its body engulfed by your Lileeps tentacles your stomach lurched. Ventress was enormously pleased as she crushed the Gloom throwing about like a rag doll, that was until the flower fought back the golden spores sinking into the savage’s skin locking her muscles. Ventress was furiously trying to move whilst Gloom was trying to catch its breath and stop the world from shaking and you were thankful for the reprieve from action. This was not the kind of battle you liked, Ventress was one of a kind and fought with quiet confidence and from afar it would seem that her intention would be to either kill or mortally injure her opponent. A little sadistic but you knew this, you knew what she was like before you let her loose on the world and now she was seething waiting for the time to get her revenge for this humiliation, and this revenge would be deadly. You try to calm her down to no avail, if she didn’t listen to you before why would she now? Suddenly the bushes surrounding her ruffled again and you feel that panic rise once more; you really couldn’t deal with any more additions to this fight, you’d have to act fast and keep on guard.

You manage to stutter out your instructions to Ventress who holds back a scream of frustration as tries to move and fails. Gloom is still looking shaky but manages to get back to its feet looking more wary of the Lileep though no less peeved at her, it’s as if it can envision what she must have done to that poor Oddish. Roots drop from its body and sink into the ground at Ingrains and slowly starts to draw health back. Ventress is chomping at the bit to attack the flower and manages to move a tentacle before it locks again. Gloom is looking a little healthier already and with Ventress a sitting duck decides to pay her back for the vicious throttling it too. It spat another glob of Acid hitting Ventress right in her face making her squeal and close her eyes in pain. You can see that Ventress looks ready to destroy Gloom, her eyes silently screaming murder as her body regains some of its movement at last. As she screams her fury the bushes around her move and you look about her ready to warn her if any of Glooms pals emerge though what occurs is anything but what you expected. Suddenly one of the vines that make up the wall of the maze rips loose and whips right at Gloom slashing it across its face leaving a bloody welt in its wake. Gloom cries out in pain and puts its little hands over the cut its eyes full of shock trying to draw more health with its own vines is thrown to the side as Ventress darts in with her Astonish nearly ripping the vines loose from the ground.

Now Ventress was in control again and she was going to make the most of it. She held her tentacles out wanting to strangle the life out of it once more. She sees your lost look from the corner of her eye and almost sighs as she attempts to Tickle Gloom who just cries in humiliation as she does so looking like it wanted to curl up in a ball and die. She then covers herself with a shimmering Mirror Coat ready to counter any attack but Gloom lies on the ground crying pitifully waving an arm at Ventress in a ‘leave me alone’ gesture. Was it giving up? Ventress didn’t seem pleased by this and growls at the flower wanting to finish off her attacks and tear it apart but Gloom didn’t seem in the right mind anymore to fight as it lay on the ground soaking up what little health it could with its vines.

Jessica noted Sam’s hesitation; he seemed a little less trusting of her intentions after the excruciating aural ordeal. Nevertheless, he consented and tried to mesmerize the confused female bat, however she unfortunately wouldn’t meet his gaze. Her eyes were lost, caught in a daze, a vision, a trap. Suddenly she rushed his gaseous form, fading illusively through, spiraling uncontrollably into Jess as the girl tried to stand. She gasped and cringed as her shoulder harshly slammed the desk, sending agonizing shocks of pain through her skin.

Sam asked her if she was all right. She waved him away, focused on reaching Gumpy above her injuries. He frowned, slightly put off by her dismissal, and provoked by the seemingly direct assault on his charge, whom he had vowed to protect.

His eyes silently followed the Golbat’s dazed magnetism up towards the ceiling, where she collided smartly with the light fixture, spiraling dizzily back to the earth. Sam grinned and pulled his fist back, smacking her in the abdomen with a shadowed punch, propelling her limp form like a cannonball into a far set of cupboards, shattering the door impressively into wooden splinters and fragments.

Hearing the crash, Jessica glanced over the room, realizing the coast was clear. Clasping her shoulder, she ran towards the wall where Gumpy was unassumingly slouched, snoring obliviously as drool dribbled from the corner of his mouth, resulting in a tiny puddle on the floor. She tried to shake him awake, but he merely groaned and swatted a flaccid arm at her. She sighed.

Meanwhile, Sam appeared to have an extra mischievous stunt in mind, unfortunately far from Jessica’s request. He dropped to the male Golbat’s height, smirking as he leaned forward and defiantly slobbered his tongue all over the sleeping bat’s face, who instantly woke from his pleasant dreams with a horrified shriek, encountering a nightmare. Sam hooted with laughter, thoroughly enjoying the outcome of his rebellious antics, at Jessica’s clearly unappreciated expense. Again, she felt the dire urge to kick him.

The male bat glanced around for his partner, snarling with rage when he determined she was nowhere to be seen. Angrily, he unleashed a booming, sonic cry, the sound so heavy and undulated it was almost palpable, it reverberated along and against the enclosed walls, amplified. Absence from vision does not equate absence from sound. It was a signal, a tonal blare, an alarm, to alert one who is lost. It was language, a lugubrious symphony only the aggrieved composer could understand, and the listener for whom the piece was intended for.

It was not intended for Jess, for she winced and shielded her ears, unable to withstand the soft, minimal echoes of confusion and pain crawling along the edges of the wall. For Sam, however, his center mocking position granted him full audience to the treble tone’s resonance, augmented by the rebound against the borders of the room, pushing back all his thoughts. He gazed around bewilderedly, all his notions were jumbled and combined, reduced to grace notes.

He noticed the Abra-droid, and his eyes lit up with recognizing glee. Giggling like a child, he drifted over and prodded the automaton’s metal stomach gently. Receiving no response, he urged again, this time more forcefully, trying to prompt the robot to dance. Jessica gasped and called desperately out to him.

“Sam! Don’t do that!”

No use. He was gone, withdrawn into his playful mind. She was on her own. As per usual.

To exacerbate the situation, the female Golbat dwindled out of the cupboard, to her mate’s noticeable relief. Her eyes were clear, more lucid now, but her torn wing was bent at an odd angle, like a folded piece of paper, the blue neck of a crane, half-dangling, weakly suspended by a string.

She would cry out in anger and pain, directing it towards Sam, who was too deaf to hear her. She seized his life force, stealing it for herself, greedily consuming the vital energy to regain her own. Sam gasped and glanced wildly about, feeling his power drain steadily, but unable to pinpoint any cause. Abruptly, a wing met him in the face, knocking him back. Recovering his balance, he growled in anger, glaring searchingly about through the haze for the impudent assailant. He could vaguely distinguish a bulging shape sitting derisively by the wall, and with an enraged holler he attacked the shadow with an intense jolt of black energy, dimmer than electricity, insubstantial darkness, but intrinsically more sinister and violent.

Jessica shrieked loudly with alarm as she ducked out of the shade, it traveled on course to strike Gumpy directly, generating low moans of pain. She furiously swerved around towards Sam, intending to satisfy her murderous impulse. A flicker at the edge of her vision though, stirring, faint sound, made her pause. She looked down to find Gumpy awake, wondering what on earth he was doing lying on the floor. She breathed an intense sigh of relief. Perfect timing. She hurriedly stood him up, and gave him a concise explanation followed by instructions.

“Gumpy, you’ve been asleep for a bit. Sam’s been CONFUSEd, so I need you to occupy the bats for 10 more minutes. Use YAWN, followed by SMOG to reduce their vision. If either Sam or the Golbat get close to the Abra-droid, quickly use ICE BEAM to at least try and ward them off, but be careful, watch your aim closely so you don’t hit the robot. Please, I’m counting on you.”

Misdreavus I can feel the night beginning, Separate me from the living ~

The Laboratory

lilbluecorsola ~ With Sam in a confused stupor you were thankful that Gumpy had finally woken, even if it was from errant attack of the ‘heroic’ Gengar. Both Golbats were now famished and it was making their attacks more erratic and frantic, urgency written all over their faces. Gumpy was fighting strong and his opponents had taken some nasty moves whilst he’d been napping, hopefully he could take them out and allow Abra-droid to finish its analysis. The Golbats have yet to notice that Gumpy had awoken and was the largest threat here, they were still focused on the Gengar that had given them the most grief. The Male Golbat having the most energy left Bit into Sam’s shoulder making him cry out in pain and claw at the offending creature managing to grasp him in his claws. He stares confused at the bat that was wiggling like crazy and sniffed it before grinning and Licking him again making the bat shriek in pain and Sam spits in disgust at the horrid taste, it had looked so nice in his hands but … eww!

Gumpy watching this with a slight amount of amusement sees your expectant gaze and breathes out several pink bubbles that float throughout the room towards the trio at the far end. The Female Golbat is unable to fly out of the way with her damaged wing and a bubble pops on her skin making her drowsy all of a sudden. The Male Golbat manages to avoid the pink bubbles but Sam giggles upon seeing the beautiful pink clouds and floats over hugging as many as he can get his hands on all of them popping on his skin making him yawn.

“Clouds make Sam sleepy,” he exclaims smiling at you and he looks so cute full of innocence in this state, but it was hardly helping you. Gumpy fills the room with a thick Smog that brings back a tickle to your throat but soon the your vision is completed obscured by the cloud. In the confined spaces it starts to spread towards you and you cough heavily the poison making you feel sick. Gumpy panics and tries to wave some of the cloud away but was having no luck.

“5 minutes remaining” you hear through the smog and it sounds though the gas hasn’t affected Abra-droid at least that was some good news. Even with reduced vision this cloud wasn’t affecting the Male Golbat who was wide awake and searching for his meal. Hearing your coughing he easily found you and you cry out in pain as its fangs find your arm and bite down sucking the blood their it’s eyes turning a red with the blood lust. Gumpy grabs the bat and tries to dislodge it from your arm but with renewed strength it wasn’t letting go. Backing off he gave you an apologetic look before powering up his Ice Beam the energy hitting your arm and the bat head on freezing the creature in place. You look horrified at the Golbat now sealed to your arm and with the weight drop to the ground shattering the ice with the impact. The Golbat crawls off badly injured from the attack and you shiver in pain the extreme cold having purged your system, you were lucky to not have gotten frost bite. Gumpy rubs your arm to warm it and looks like he’s about to cry for the extra pain he caused you, you’re just thankful to have the bat off you. With both bats incapacitated you hope that the timer will count down to 0 and you’ll have the cure for your disease.

You can hear the soft sound of snores coming from the middle of the smog and assume that both Golbat and Sam have fallen asleep due to the Yawn and sit down waiting for Abra-droid to finish its analysis.

“Analysis complete! Compiling results.” the droid announces and you smile for the first time, you felt a thrill of hope. The vents in the room have started to draw away the smog thankfully, you weren’t sure how much more abuse your body could take when you spot a lumbering form approaching you. Sam was still awake and he was making his way over to you! He sees you shivering as Gumpy tries to warm your injured arm.

“Is Jess cold? I’ll help my beautiful,” he says grinning holding up an arm that ignites with flame. In that moment it felt like time stood still. You scream no but he was still too confused to listen and your eyes widen in absolute horror as his Fire Punch ignites the remaining Smog causing a massive explosion that fills the room blowing out the small window pane of glass and throwing you into the wall with Gumpy following. Sam shrieked as his body was set alight and he hurtled through the wall only to land next to you unconscious smoke rising from his body and soon after you pass out.

Waking up you feel a cold spray of water from the labs sprinklers cooling down your skin. Holding up your arms you see a long burn up the right one and the fang marks on the left with a mild burn on the left hand. That appeared to be the only damage you took apart from the bruised spine and head from the force of the explosion. Gumpy was lying over your legs his back covered in a large burn that he took protecting you; he was unconscious but breathing normally thankfully. Sam lay next to you most of his body marred with blackened marks his arm which had started the inferno useless as its burnt right down to the ghostly bones with little tendrils of purple flesh remaining, the sight makes your stomach churn. You had been thrown right through to the main lab and the doctors room looked obliterated. You feel tears run down your eyes as you push Gumpy off you enough to drag yourself into the ruins. Both Golbats had been incinerated; their charred remains huddled together in a picture of morbid love. Looking up to where Abra-droid had been you choke back the tears as you see it in pieces, its head in the far corner of the room, its right half of its body opposite and the rest remained in place.

What are you going to do now? Perhaps there is a chance you could salvage something from the remains but the manual went up in flames with the rest of the room.

The whistling of the rustling shrubbery was becoming evermore disquieting, furnishing Wes with evermore more anguish. Witnessing the torturous acts, the hum of cracking bones, the constant struggling and gagging... This wasn’t why he became a Trainer. Wes was compassionate about all living things, and the fact he’d caused so much pain was beginning to consume him with angst. With the Gloom tossing and turning in utter fright, Wes began probing his morals; why was he taking part in such an unjust activity? Is it reasonable to pit Pokémon against each over such egotistical goals? The fact he was surrounded by such an eerie ambiance certainly didn’t ease his trepidation either. The nerve-racked trainer’s jaws locked in early-sentence. Barely managing to spew out three commands, the trainer bobbed his head in utter shame in hopes the meagre shrub would soon retreat. Glancing bellow at the meandering thorns, the outlook of departing from the stately home of Vestige town couldn’t have been more welcoming...

Subsequently, Ventress seems to appreciate the human tongue, jerking forward to perform an underpowered offense. Suddenly clapping his ears, Wes gaped in distress as Ventress released a high-pitch squeal. The fossil Pokémon was entirely rooted as her muscles contracted, leaving her in a completely immobile state. The battered and bruised adversary saw a glimmer of hope in this untimely inconvenience as several roots emerged from the gloom’s lilac soles and into the earthy soil. Sucking up nutrients, a healthy glow began to blemish on Gloom’s face, something Wes was vaguely comforted amid. Lileep went for a second attempt with no avail, her long tentacles coiling in paralysis. Why was the young trainer feeling so relieved? He’d seen the pitiable Gloom at its worst, how could he cope with slaying the flowering individual? Seamlessly full of vigour, the Gloom returned to an aggressive stance, leaning over and shaking its blossom to reveal another bat of corrosive acid. Downing Ventress in the acidic substance, she let out another war-cry as it thawed through her tender skin. Whilst Wes was pleased the skirmish was returning to its even-handedness, he detected the two yellow eyes of his pet gleaming with a clear bloodlust. She started swaying once more, her hardened tentacles uncoiling and moving freely. But what was this?! An unsettling rustle filled the air as the seagreen hedges began juddering wildly. A vine rapidly ripped from either side of the hedge, gashing Gloom with incredible force and almost tearing her from her ingrained stance. Wes covered his mouth, completely awestruck on whom or what was obstructing their bout. Gazing down at the archaic plant, he decided they’d have to help their enemy to ensure it didn’t fall victim to the immense harassments.

“Quick Ven’, let’s lend a hand to that Gloom or those vines will surely slaughter her!” Before Wes could even finish his protest, he noticed Ventress was stuck with a wicked grin as she thrust her tentacles into the beaten Gloom. She wasn’t going to show any remorse, something which Wes was exceedingly perturbed with. The adolescent trainer hastily rustled through his Pokeballs with the tips of his fingers. He’d have to recall the menace – she was far too unruly for the circumstances. But then he’d be unguarded, Ventress was potentially the only thing keeping him alive. Wes merely sighed as Ventress reared forward with her tentacles extended. Propelling them once more, she ensnarled the downed Gloom with her slender feelers. The tips of her tentacles rubbed up and down the plant’s glossy body, prickling her nerve ends and causing her to laugh uncontrollably. Wes saw a look of trauma in the wretched creature’s ogles, the somewhat offensive move had done more than he’d anticipated. Tears started rolling down his eyes, completely overwhelmed with negative emotions. The plum-like shrub coiled up in the bed of vines, bawling in defeat and gesturing away the immoral shrub. Wes only wished Ventress would listen, but alas she covered herself in a gown of shimmering white for a third attack. Noting Gloom’s sheer unwillingness to fight, Ventress growled impatiently.

“STOP IT!! FUCKING STOP IT NOW!!!” Finally reaching his limit, Wes caught the attention of the unruly shrub. She returned his glance in a slightly baffled state; he’d never raised once raised his voice in such a manor. Shocked at the slurry ruling himself, Wes gave himself a minute to brainstorm in the distinct solace. He needed the aid of another operative. With the occasional crunch of the surrounding hedges, there wasn’t another moment to delay. Hit with a somewhat witty idea, he fiddled in his baggy pockets for an inch-size sphere. Grasping it between his two fingers, he tapped a pale switch on the ball, broadening the orb to the volume of an apple. Without a second to spare, he finally pitched the contraption a few feet before him, instantly encouraging it to crack open in a dazzling light-show. The radiance dimmed to unveil a petite mushroom with stubby legs. Unbeknown to the daunting situation, Fungii absorbed the surroundings and took a tasty bite of the shrivelled leaves jutting from the hedges. Wes broke a slight smile, before ushering the shroom toward him.

“I’m sure you’d love this backdrop more than anything, but you’ve caught us at a bad time”, Wes’ smirk quickly dissipated as he explained the ongoing of the maze of shrubbery. Whilst listening intently, Fungii occasionally growled at Ventress for her disorderly temper, who still seemed unfazed. He knew how to respect his master, the obedient little shroom never questioned his master’s orders. Albeit their clear distaste for one another, Ventress seemed to look up to Fungii in some respect. Perhaps it was his plant-y demeanour, or maybe his timid personality shined through in the mitts of a line-up of fierce and adorable Pokémon.

“Our main priority now is assisting that Gloom”, Wes uttered, glancing over at the lifeless flower, “I’ll do my best to nurse her back to form, although I’ll need Fungii’s help to down it with spores if she becomes disorderly. Whilst we deal with Gloom Ventress, I need you to recover and keep a good look-out for us. Hit anything threatening with a Tri Attack, kay?” Emphasising the word threatening, Wes gulped fretfully as he left the Lileep in its position. Bordering closer to the barely conscious Gloom, Wes rustled through the filling of his shoulder bag in search of medicine. Hoisting out a pale coloured spray, he lightly tapped the trigger to check its functionality. Fungii amply overtook Wes as he meandered through the vines in hilarity. His smooth polka-dot hide starting to coat with mud as he cheerfully skipped through the dim environment. Peeping his ugly head upon the meagre Gloom, he released a bizarre chirp as if to say ‘it’s all gunna be fine ^-^’.

“Don’t panic, this won’t hurt a bit”, Wes said nervously as he crouched to the height of the poisonous shrub. It had become his chief priority to undo his blunders, and that meant aiding the wounded Pokémon. If the plant was eager to comply, it’d certainly make for one less hitch in their plan. Aiming the potion at the Pokémon’s raw gash, he slowly released the trigger...

Tyson looked at the field, although the last round had been a success it was also a bittersweet moment. He had basically killed its family and was having second thoughts about defeating the youngest Wailmer, although it had attacked and was pretty strong. Still, it was only a child, and children shouldn't be killed. He didn't have any way around it, but Maria or Pan might. "Hey, do you guys have any way to defeat the small Wailmer that won't actually kill it? Maybe you could put it to sleep or temporarily paralize it so it will float there and we'll be able to leave without hurting it. I don't think I can catch it because of some reasons I am unable to disclose..." I probably can't catch a pokemon from this time period because if I do it'll probably cause some sort of disruption in the time-space continuem if, when, I go back to the future. He looked at Pan and got an idea, he walked over and whispered in his ear "Hey, I bet if you caught that thing with whatever methods you use here Maria might like you." He thought about that and hoped Pan would do as he had hinted. "Okay guys, we need to end this one soon, the faster the better, as the less damage to the boat will be better as well. I think Vaporeon should converge onto the smaller Wailmer alongside Valor and Bellamy and Freeze will end the bigger one."

He looked at the field, the Bigger Wailmer was looking sicker by the minute, and Freeze was getting tired as well, there seemed to be only one way to get rid of the Wailmer: to take it out humanely, as it looked like it would die anyway. "Okay Freeze, you're almost done, use foresight to get a good look at it and spot any possible target zones, then fire a Hyper Beam at it, that should end it humanely and easily. After that get back on your board and get out of the way, you're looking worse by the second, and the longer we drag this out the worse youll be by the end of this battle." He looked at Maria and smiled, "You can fix him up too right?" He then looked at Pan and spoke "Hey, you mind haing Bellamy cover Freeze like last round? It was great, and a high-power Attack like hyper beam needs some cover, and Bellamy is perfect for that, just make sure she gets out of the way before Freeze shoots, as it will probably knock her out if it connects. Hey, a submerged attack would do great! You think you ca-. Never mind, a certain someone alse can do that attack perfectly."

He looked at Valor, an idea had formulated in his head that could use the little blue turtle's abilities to his advantage, and as he replayed it in his head, his Squirtle diving under water and sending the whale far away with its awesome powers, but he needed help so he turned to Maria, "Hey does Vaporeon know Aqua Jet? If it does can you tell it to do what Valor does please, you don't have to, but please? I just had this awesome idea where we send the Wailmer flying and leave it vulmerable." He turned to the actual undertaker of the plan, "Valor, Go about twenty feet underwater and use aqua jet to get back above water and hit the Wailmer, knocking it about 3 feet in the air before hitting it with a Water pulse as it can't dodge, then as it comes down create some muddy water and hit it with it."

Our back is against the wall, we need to end it.

As all of the sets of eyes reveal their bodies, a small pack of ravaged Mightyena, Zak's heart began to sink more and more. If there had of been one, he might have been able to escape by a fluke but there was ten or so, possibly even more in the darkened field. The closer they encroached, the more worried Zak began to get, he felt completely immobilized by thoughts running through his mind, These Mightyena could quite easily make a mere snack out of me he thought, looking down at his child-like exterior.

As the dark wolf-like pokémon were within feet of Zak, a sudden familiar creature floated into view. It was Shane, his tiny Shuppet and, with a sigh of relief, he attempted to smile at the ghost pokémon. However, this relief was quickly ended as the Mightyena all began to lunge at the hand puppet pokémon, tearing with their glimmering white fangs. Frozen where he was, Zak's stomach did backflips and his legs weakened, the only friend he had with him at the moment was being destroyed before his very eyes. As Shane's blood splattered on his jeans and the grass, Zak collapsed to his knees, he had just witnessed one of his closest pokémon being destroyed, all because he didn't want to be enslaved for no good reason.

"You, you monsters!" He cried, tears beginning to run down is face at a heightening rate. As he spoke to the monstrous beasts, a voice appeared within his mind. It was the Alakazam from before and it turned out to be toying with him, everything he had just seen was merely a sick and perverted vision. Without realizing, Zak's hands had formed fists and he had stood up once more, looking at the now cackling faces of the pack of pokémon. Not long afterwards, the Mightyena bore of waiting and all charge at Zak, now was his time to act and, as the Mightyena begin to collide with one another, one manages to bite down on his calf, drawing blood through his dark jeans.

"GET OFF!" Zak cried, hitting at the pokémon with his arms. This was just a vision so why was he feeling so much pain from it? All he could try and do now was run. Run for as long as he could. Kicking at the foul beast, he attempted to crawl away, dragging his injured leg as he tried his hardest to stand up. If this was just a vision, surely closing his eyes and telling himself that would help, he had no other real options.

"This is all just a sick vision, Zak, snap out of it, c'mon!" he whispered to himself, eyes closed, slapping his cheek quickly. With his eyes still firmly shut, he began to run forwards non-intentionally, wondering if his foes were even still there, he wouldn't be sure unless he opened his eyes but the fear within him simply refused to let him...

With Yakuza in such a nasty state after only a few moves, Jamie felt the natural urge to haul out the barbs before the Honchkrow was poisoned badly, knowing the risks of heading onto the field of battle. As the final barb came out, his fears were confirmed as the serpent blitzed forward and implanted its fangs straight onto Jamie's leg, eliciting pain unlike any he had felt as he roared in agony before feeling rather doozy from the possible blood loss or hypnootic effect Arbok run on their prey, before the monster came off thanks to Yakuza, who was horrified at the bleeding leg as Jamie sat there, grinding his teeth in sheer pain as he watched with some vengeful glee as the bird tossed his foe around like a rag doll with a rather exertive whirlwind.

Without any bandages, Jamie resorted to ripping his sleeve off his top before binding it around the wound as a tourniquet before leering as Yakuza's ice beam flew towards his foe, only for it to rebound off and strike the Honchkrow in the injured wing.

"Fuck. I forgot about that mirror coating..." Jamie hissed as Yakuza fell, his wing frozen over and scarred rather painfully as the Arbok undid the pain with a quick glow as Shed Skin worked once more. The foe had commited a cardinal sin in attacking a trainer, and as Jamie reached into his pocket, he knew Yakuza wouldn't manage on his own against such a foe.

A flash of light later, and his only female pokemon was on the field, her heavy weight causing the floor beneath to creak eerily as Penance turned to her trainer, grinning inconspicuously before the smirk turned into a shock at the sight of his leg, before turning around to see Yakuza somewhat pained and the Arbok looking at her.

The Golem gnashed her teeth before turning to Jamie, awaiting orders to rip the worm's head off and use it as a hood.

"Yakuza, spit off another firestream towards Arbok, and try and melt the ce on your wing with it. If you manage, then proceed to strike him down with a vicious sky attack. If you can't, then smash him into the wall with psychic and keep him pinned there. Penance, common Arbok weigh about a hundred and fifty pounds, while you weigh a little over four times that much and are made of rock and can't be harmed by dynamite. Use this to your knowledge by smashing Arbok with a very heavy tackle, then while he's dazed, crack his face open with a thunderpunch. Show no mercy, guys, as this Arbok didn't when he bit me..."

As the bird and living boulder prepared to strike, Jamie made a mental note to himself to try and remember to keep himself stocked with healing items.

The Mirror Door

fishyfool ~ Lying on the cold hard floor with your life’s essence steadily trickling from you all you can think about is the pain Yakuza is suffering. With your blood slowly leaving you it was hard to think straight but you mind was focused solely on one thing, eliminated that wretched Snake. Yakuza was concerned for you ignoring his frozen wing and cawed wanting you to take care of your own wound first. Pushing his concern away you reach for another Pokeball and release its occupant, a very large Golem that roars and flexes her muscles. She looks to thank you for the freedom and her eyes widened as she spots your injured state and that of Yakuza. Your gaze is drawn to something in front of her and turning around she sees what she assumes to be the cause of your states and clenches her fists in anger. Yakuza’s pride feels knocked as he spots his help in the battle but as he moves his wings and feels the sharp pains running through it he realistically realises it was a good decision. Arbok hisses at the intruder to its battle and slithers back looking slightly anxious, your Golem after all was a lot larger than the bird it had just been annihilating. With Penance’s bulky form standing as a hefty protective wall before you, you feel calmer and more assured that you could swing this battle back in your favour hopefully with enough time to stabilise your bleeding wound and heal Yakuza.

Quickly uttering orders to your duo Yakuza begins to breathe deep summoning yet more fire energy in his mouth but in his pained state he’s far too slow and Arbok has already begun to glow Stockpiling energy for later rather wisely. Yakuza breathes out the molten hot bubbles as he finishes charging holding wing forward allowing the heat to melt off parts of the ice. Arbok slithers out of the way the unnaturally hot bubbles bursting on the mirror behind the snake heating the glass. Arbok sniggers and Swallows its energy healing a portion of its heath in the process. Yakuza is beginning to pant, the energy required to perform these high impact moves are taking its toll on him but regardless he flaps his wings, the left one now nearly entirely free from ice and manages to fly despite the pain and begins to glow with white energy. Arbok hisses and spits out a glob of Acid that flies towards Yakzua and still gathering energy he’s an open target. Luckily Penance has seen enough and leaps up taking the Acid on her own body the poisonous gloop hardly inflicting any pain and the ground shakes as she lands sending cracks through the remaining mirrors. Yakuza begins to fly upwards with what room there is Arbok keeps its eyes on him and misses the freight train that is Penances charging towards it and ramming it full force into the broken mirror behind it making it shriek in pain. Penance rolls out of the way in time for Yakuza to slam into Arbok with his Sky Attack forcing the mirrored snake into the wall in a huge dent. Arbok hisses weakly and swings its tail glowing with aquatic energy into Penance making her roar and stumble back the surprise attack really leaving her smarting. Arbok tries to slither away but Yakuza summons the hidden Pyschic powers deep within him once more holding the snake still but you can clearly see it’s taking a great effort and Yakuza is struggling loosing energy fast. Penance is quick to recover though and pulls her fist back and charging towards Arbok slams her Thunderpunch right into its face the electricity crackling over its mirror-like skin deep cracks appearing all over its body.

It appears that Arbok won’t take much more of a beating and Yakuza hasn’t much energy left to perform any strong attacks, he’ll be lucky if he can fly again so soon with the pain in his wing. Penance is full of energy and ready to crush the pathetic creature, all she needs is the order to.

The Bathing Rooms

psychopath ~ This battle had gone on long enough and even the Captain had begun to look a little impatient viewing you 3 from afar. Under the heavy weight of his stare you wrack your mind for ideas, something to take the last two Wailmer out. The larger one was looking heavily beaten and you were sure it wouldn’t take much to finish it off but the baby was still healthy and full of vengeance. You didn’t want to hurt these creatures any more than necessary and asked your companions if they had any methods to put them to sleep so you could leave. Pan looked excited and announced that Bellamy knew Hypnosis, learnt it when she was a Poliwag. That could work! You winked at the young boy whispering that Maria would proud of his quick thinking and he blushed looking over to the older beautiful woman who was too busy worrying about her Vaporeon’s confused state to notice. You suggest that Vaporeon and Valor concentrate on the young Wailmer whilst Freeze and Bellamy quickly finish off the older one. Pan frowned wondering why you changed your mind on the original plan but decided that Bellamy could do both. You wondered whether it was a good idea to try and capture one of the three whales but decide against it, there was no telling what would happen in this time, would if affect the Pokemon when you got back? There would only be one way to find out but instead you focus on the battle.

“We need to get moving soon,” the Captain orders causing Pan and Maria to salute him making you blink in confusion before throwing a sloppy salute together before ordering your Pokemon to attack. Freeze concentrates hard on the Wailmer looking for the perfect weak spot to hit and as he finds on he begins to power up his attack. Wailmer upon seeing the devastating attack Freeze was preparing and remembering what it did to its mate decides to get out of dodge and with what strength it has remaining Dives underwater. Freeze panics and holds his energy steady in front of his claws feeling it draining as he searches for the whale, come to think of it he can’t see Bellamy either. You search the waters along with Freeze and suddenly spot a shadow growing larger as a powerful jet of water moves it towards the surface. Freeze takes his shot and lauches his Hyper Beam into the water just as Wailmer is propelled upwards the force throwing the whale over the ship and causing it to land on the other side send a wave of water that washes over you and the deck. Bellamy resurfaces looking worn from the powerful Hydro Pump she had to produce to move Wailmer. Level-Up for Freeze

Only one Wailmer to go and Valor is looking ready to fight even though he’s hesitant about hurting the new friend he made. Vaporeon is looking around in confusion not quite understanding what it was doing there but as it spots Valor it lashes out striking him with its Aqua Tail throwing him through the water and really hurting the little Squirtle despite the typage. Ignoring your order for a moment and slaps Vaporeon across the cheeks with tears in his eyes trying to snap it out its confusion. Vaporeon blinks and turns at the sound of rushing water and both Pokemon turn to see the baby Wailmer Rolling Out towards them crashing into them before they can dodge. Both Squirtle and Vaporeon resurface the latter showing clarity in its eyes. Valor is holding its chest being so young was struggling to take the damage but 3 more of his Aqua rings had popped and restored some health making him feel better. Diving under the water a good distance he concentrates on his orders and reaching what he estimates to be 20 feet he feels the water surge around him as he activates his Aqua Jet. Shooting up he spots Wailmers form above and slams into it knocking it up only a few metres. His water shield fades and he cries out as he see Wailmer about to use the downward momentum in a Body Slam but spots Vaporeon emerge from the water next to him with its Quick Attackpropelling the whale further up. The elegant canine lands in the water as Valor powered up a ball of water energy between his claws and spins throwing up towards the now descending Wailmer. Vaporeon shoots a jet of water from its mouth propelling the ball faster and the combined Water Pulse and Water Guns explode upon striking Wailmer’s underbelly making it cry out in pain. Before Wailmer can hit the water both Valor and Vaporeon move out of the way Valor churning up dirt from around the sea bottom and quickly drawing it and forcing a wave of it towards Wailmer washing over it as it hits the water causing a large splash covering all the Pokemon.

Wailmer is looking hurt but still with fight left and groans the noise turning to a loud cry as Vaporeon unleashes a rainbow Signal Beam that hits the little whale between the eyes. Wailmer looks like it could take any more and tears form in its eyes as Bellamy swims over to it looking deep into those black orbs. She waves her hands back and forth and Hypnotic waves float over to the child making it yawn before falling asleep. All the Pokemon look up to their trainers and give them thumbs up where possible.

“Time to move out,” Captain Porter orders upon witnessing the final moments of the battle and the ship begins to turn and speed away giving you enough to time to return your Pokemon to their Pokeballs and you feel that somehow Valor grew stronger despite not KO’ing his opponent. Level up for Valor. Pan and Maria line up standing to attention before Captain Porter and you quickly follow suit.

“Well done, you three took out the Wailmer without causing too much damage to the ship,” he said looking to Pan for that part making him hang his head. “Night is drawing and you may all rest, I’ll have the crew cover your tasks tonight. Maria why don’t you show our Master Tyson to the crew’s dining quarters. The chef will cook you something before we stop your retire to bed.” He says appearing pleased with the three of you. Maria nods and walks off towards the main part of the ship opening a door and beckoning for you to follow. Pan explodes through the door before you get chance and grins at Maria before running off, he must be hungry. Maria escorted you down through the decks and you soon come to a small but comfortable room with 3 long tables with benches either side. The chef is cleaning a plate in the kitchen seen through a partition in the wall as Maria approaches and gives him the Captains orders and he grunts before walking towards the back of the kitchen and the sound of stoves lighting is heard.

“It won’t be long,” Maria says as she sits down. “I’ll get your Pokemon healed first thing in the morning,” she says to previous enquiry and you thank her.

“So Tyson, tell me about yourself, where’d you come from and how’d you end up in the sea?” Pan asked enthusiastically.

The Playground

Pearl’s Perap ~ You felt sick to your stomach at the vile games this Alakazam was playing. Witnessing your beloved Shane’s tortuous death was one thing but now you were left with the ravenous hoards of Mightyena who felt and looked very real. It all broke down in a matter of seconds as the beasts charged at you mouths salivating at the smell of your flesh and you only just escape the first two. Your mind was screaming that this couldn’t be real, another vision like the last but as one sunk its dirty fangs into your calf and white hot pain rushed through your body your mind began to falter in that decision. Lying on the ground where they knocked you in their frenzy you pant from adrenaline and fear unable to move. As your body begins to acknowledge the pain further and your mind is pulled from its shocked state you try dragging yourself away from the hoard who were snapping at one another caught in the blood lust. One Mightyena even rips the throat out of another the spray of blood shooting into the night sky a few blood drops raining down on you as they feast on their kin.

Your mind felt safe with the knowledge that this was a vision and nothing more, it wasn’t real even if it felt so. This thought dulled the shock and allowed you to think clearly for a moment. Maybe if you closed your eyes and convinced your body to stop imagining the pain it would all be over. Running forward now totally blind you pray that this vision would stop but you hear the howls cut through the air and the sound of frantic paws pounding the ground. Tears ran down your cheeks as you panicked again and you felt a heavy weight suddenly hit your back throwing you to the ground. Struggling under the heavy lump on top of you and daring to open your eyes fear you hold back a scream as you see a Mightyena pinning you to the ground. Its hot fetid breath was right by your face as it licked a trickle of blood that ran from a gash on your head that must have occurred when you fell. Roaring it pulls its head back ready to rip your throat out and you brace for the inevitable when the mangy dog is knocked off you bay another. Crawling away before rushing to your feet you try to limp away when a Mightyena leaps in front of you and jumps at you slashing your right side with its claws ripping open the skin drawing rivers of blood. Gasping in agony you stumble forward clasping at your side feeling your head spin and cry out as a force knocks your other side throwing you back down to the ground causing you to break your ankle from the angel of impact. Screaming in pain you breathe in hasty gasps feeling your vision swim, your little body couldn’t take much more of this. Pleading mentally for Alakazam to return and stop this you feel immensely sick and promptly vomit on the ground. Covered in blood, dirt, vomit and tears you go into shock and no longer feel the teeth sinking into your legs, arms, back … neck. You can see their yellow eyes but soon they begin to fade away into darkness and soon a pair of turquoise ones replace them filled with compassion.

’Hold on little one, this nightmare will be over soon. You just need to hold on …’ its voice begins to fade and you sigh one last breath.

’Wake up slave’ a voice yells in your mind and you wince, where had that pleasant voice gone. What voice was this … was it Alakazam? Opening your eyes you find yourself lying on the cold hard floor before in that room again. Swathed in shadows sat on the large ornate chair like a throne the woman stared at your shivering form with disinterest, her silver eyes thankfully hidden. Alakazam like a royal subject stood by her side sneering down at you. Picking yourself up off the ground you look for injuries only to find yourself in near perfect condition, had it been a vision after all?

“That was no vision,” her cold voice spoke out making you wince, had she read your mind?

“This was only a light punishment for your disobedience, persist and you will experience much worse,” she said and you wonder what could be worse than that?

“So you do not forget child, a reminder of what your rebel behaviour brings to you,” she says and you wince loosing stability in your leg and pull up your jeans to see a scar from the first bite you took, it looked ragged and poorly healing.

“Now you must continue your work,” she finishes leaning back in her chair as Alakazam teleports behind you and warps you back to the warehouse before disappearing again. The children all look o your dishevelled state with pity and fear and wonder what you would do next. Amy hugged her arms to her chest as tears came to her eyes, she was the one who brought you here after all whilst Shawn shook his head his eyes asking if you were alright. It seems that you’ll have to work other wise endure another punishment, and after the last one it seemed far from wise for your health and sanity.

The Maze of Shrubbery

empoleon dynamite ~ This battle of emotions had just turned plain ugly now and you had seen more than enough. Ventress looked ready to annihilate her flowery foe whilst the Gloom looked like it just wanted to be left alone with its own pity and sorrow. Fearing another strike from the vicious vines that swathed this passageway and from Ventress’ with her impatience growing you yell in despair having reached the limit of your tolerance, startling both Pokemon. Ventress paused in her violent thoughts and turned to look at you with curiosity wondering what could have brought forth such an outburst. With new silence filling the air you take the opportunity to think on what to do next and decide that you needed another of your team to resolve this conflict. Sending out your little Shroomish Fungi looks around at the vine filled maze with interest but you quickly draw him to the task at hand. Fungi looks disapprovingly at the other grass Pokemon in his midst and Ventress pays him no heed not at all intimidated by his warnings. You ask Fungi to assist the Gloom who was crying on the ground absorbing bits of health back with its ingrain and the Shroomish is only happy to obey your orders, unlike Ventress. Pulling a Potion from your backpack and test it and see a spray of cool liquid leave its canister as Fungi approaches Gloom whispering comforting words.

Gloom looks up to you fearfully as you approach and Fungi is ready with his Spores should he need to use them but unbeknownst to you Ventress is standing behind you silently seething. This was her battle and you dared to stop it? She Recovered her energy and a slight amount of health as you ordered only because it was beneficial and observed your actions with disgust. This Gloom had initiated the attack and because of what? Because Ventress had appeased her violent tendencies on one of its kin. Ventress obviously felt no guilt towards the death she caused and as you spray the Potion on glooms skin she hisses in anger.

As you rub the healing spray across Gloom’s skin, the flower looking up with confusion you hear violent rustling from the bushes surrounding you. Stepping back in nervous anxiety you feel a vine whip out and lash across your hand holding the potion leaving a nasty red welt in its wake. Stumbling back you hold your hand and look around in horror wondering if the vines were finally going to take their frustrations out on you and take a defensive stance Fungi ready to protect you. Suddenly the vines rip forth of their bindings and unleash their fury upon the Gloom and you watch in horror as it screams in agony. Unable to act you see in a matter of moments that they have completed they’re attack leaving Gloom a bloody mess barely breathing. Ventress waddles up to you and you miss the satisfied look on her face at the state her opponent is in but Fungi does not and he growls at her in disgust. Level up for Ventress. You turn to your savage Lileep and notice that she looks stronger despite having not finished the battle and wonder how that occurred thankful for the break from your guilty thoughts. Ventress stares at Glooms body almost shining with pride for the state it was in and Fungi could barely hold back his anger, she should not be acting like this it was beyond hideous. A singular vine snakes out and you step back and watch as it wraps around Glooms body before dragging into the depths of the bushes and as it does so Ventress waddles off further down the path not at all fazed by what had occurred.

Left alone with memories of that horrific excuse of that battle and Fungi who was trying to console you, you begin to wish you had never chosen to come here. Though you had an idea of what horrors the Mansion and its ground might have had in store you didn’t want to believe it would have dragged you into them so soon. Lost in guilt and frustration you don’t notice Ventress slip around the corner but thankfully Fungi was on the ball today and pulled you out of your pity enough to alert you to her wandering off … again! Sighing you run off after even despite her actions she was still your Pokemon. Rounding the corner your thankful to see that she hasn’t gotten far in fact she’d stopped between two options the path splits off into looking pensive. As you approach she looks over to you as if asking for your opinion on which path to choose … that’s a first! Both paths look similar with nothing to separate one from the other and you wonder actually if it would have been a better idea to head back out of the maze altogether. As if sensing your thoughts a harsh wind comes from behind you and you turn to see the path disappearing, but wait … it almost looked like the vines and bushes were rushing forth towards you reaching out for you. The two paths ahead begin to rustle with activity the vines delicately waving back and forth as if enticing you forward and with the path behind you slowly swallowing everything in sight you’d better move fast or you’d end up the next victim of the maze.

“So Tyson, tell me about yourself, where’d you come from and how’d you end up in the sea?” Pan asked enthusiastically.

He returned his pokemon back to their pokeballs and softly spoke to the spheres. "Great job guys, You were great out there Valor! You were a mere twentyeth of the size of your enemy and you pulled through very well. I know that your energy has gotten bigger, and i applaud you for that. I'll get you medical help later, but for now just rest in that comfortable pokeball of yours." He looked at the other pokeball, and softly whispered to the leader of the pack, "You did a lot better than your last real match..." He looked back at the match that now seemed like an eternity since it happened, or hadn't happened. Tyson and Freeze had ran out of food and found a little squirrel, she who would be Thunderfuzz. "... Although this battle wasn't as exciting." He looked to Maria and looked in her eyes, about to ask if she could heal his pokemon, when the captain walked by. They saluted, chatted, and were headed towards the dining quarters. He saw the chef behind them cooking something in a, stove? Of course it wasn't a stove like the Torkoal 5000 his mom had at home, but it was pretty advanced, from his studies he had learned that stoves had originated in this century, it was probably one of the first of its kind. Stolen no doubt.

"Hey, Maria-" he started before being interupted by her.

“It won’t be long, I’ll get your Pokemon healed first thing in the morning.” That was all he needed, as long as his pokemon could be healed as fast as possible.

He then looked at Pan who spoke up as well, and rather enthusiasticly as well "
So Tyson, tell me about yourself, where’d you come from and how’d you end up in the sea?" A tough question, and one he certainly didn't want to answer, but he needed to answer it anyway, as to not arouse suspicion.

"Well Pan, its a very long tale, so I'll give you the best I can give you...." He looked at the chef and hoped the food would get there soon. "... It started five years ago, I once lived in the city of Snowpoint and Orre as a double resident, as the summers came we headed to snowpoint to escape the 115 degree heat of the desert, and we headed to Orre to escape the -6 degree cold. Once while I was in Snowpoint a snowstorm kicked up while I was in the mountains alone. I stumbled upon Freeze as the cold began to take my life away, he saved saved my life by leading me to a cave, where we awaited the storm's end. We then and there decided we would one day travel the world as partners. Five years later it happened. That's where I came from.

"How I got to the sea, thats a totally different and more complex story. I was fighting a giant Octillary, whit my Pachirisu, Thunderfuzz. She was taken... No I was taken, leaving her behind." he looked at them both to make sure they understood before he continued, "It somehow brought me to this sea. You guys took me in. I want to find her, and I know if I stick with you guys I will find her." In my own time.

"I didn't tell anyone about her, because I wasn't certain you would trust me, but if you will follow my crazy battle plans I know you trust me." he had spoken silently and made sure the chef hadn't heard. "So, what do you think?"
