Storm sat down on his knees and looked at the Swinub. "It would certainly be fun to have you with us." "Manny, I promise that I'll take good care of your little brother." "I'll make sure to return once in a while to visit, provided that I won't get lost in a snowstorm again." Rolu seemed excited to be traveling with another pokemon. He told Manny: "He's sincere, Manny" Storm took a normal Pokeball from his bag and gently pressed it against the energetic Swinub. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Kaleth invited us to enjoy some food." "I could use a good meal, what about you, Rolu?" Rolu nodded. "You really aren't comfortable talking yet, are you?" "Hehe, you'll get more confident eventually." "Now, let's find Kaleth" |

Anyway, Hugo had a decision to make. Should he add the Swinub to his team? The Pig Pokemon surely knew this was a possibility when it challenged Hugo to a fight. And it had fought admirably, showing much more speed and power than Hugo realized it was capable of. Strength of will, strength of character. And since it had been watching Hugo the whole time, it knew that Hugo wasn’t fully responsible for how things ended with Archie and company. I guess that counts for something, right? Plus, having a Pokemon like Swinub could prove beneficial for what Hugo was planning to do next in the Arboreal Cradle. But should Hugo separate the Swinub from its mother and siblings? Clearly the Piloswine was very fond of her offspring, nearly goring Hugo into oblivion when Houndoom actually scorched it. And yet it showed no signs of retaliation toward Hugo as the two battled. Perhaps the Piloswine knew that if this was meant to happen, it would happen. Or maybe Hugo was just trying to rationalize all of this to himself while he suffered a morality crisis. Oh well. Hugo reached into his backpack and found a Gingerbread Ball. Given the relationship Hugo had developed with the Swinub over snacks, this would do just fine. Hugo tossed the Gingerbread Ball at the Swinub. Fingers crossed…

Naru- Fleeing from a time no longer safe for you, you find yourself in an ancient land. The Cradle had been shut off to the outside world until recently, but you had no knowledge of the history and politics surrounding this place. All you knew was that you were marginally safer here than you were at home, not that it really was home anymore. As you walk through the strange, cold forest with your Pokemon by your side, you can't help but marvel at the grandeur of the ancient trees. Unknowingly you cross a natural boundary, the ground gives way beneath your feet and you find yourself falling. Thankfully Lucario comes to your aid, putting its own life on the line to save you and your Meowth. As the snow settles around you, you assess your new surroundings.
You'd fallen a good 20 metres into a large indent in the ground. The wall was almost vertical, it would take a fair amount of effort to climb out. The ground continued to tamper downward, however at a much steadier slope. The trees here was noticeably different, leaning back towards the edge of the hole as if they'd been arranged by some sort of giant gardener. You begin to make your way down the slope, Lucario on high alert after what had just happened. You're walking for almost half an hour when Lucario comes to a stop, ears pricked. It isn't long before you hear it too, something bashing its way through the trees, getting closer and closer with each second. Lucario pushes you behind a tree, it can sense the incoming threat... A mighty bellow ripples out as the Garchomp comes to a stop in mid air. Its chest heaves heavily as it glares down at Lucario. As flames begin to gather in its mouth, Lucario prepares to counter. "Gogoat, Vine Whip!" A voice shouts out from behind the Garchomp as the heavy hooves of a Gogoat slam down into the compacted earth. Two powerful vines extend and wrap around the Garchomp's feet before slamming it into the ground. Lucario rushes forward, grabbing hold of Garchomp's head as he attempts to help pin the Dragon. With the threat somewhat secured you emerge from behind the tree. Now getting a better look at the Garchomp, you notice something is off. Parts of its body appear to be out of proportion, the left side of its head appears swollen, as do its right arm and leg. The other notable anomaly is the energy burning around its eyes, a dark teal colour. What had happened to it? A man leaps down from the Gogoat, quickly rushing ahead to assess the Garchomp. You notice the man is wearing some sort of armour, styled to look like a Haxorus. He shoots you a quick look before returning to the Garchomp, running his hands over its Rough Skin. "Thanks for the assist but it is normally a bad idea to interfere in Hunters Guild business." The man says gruffly, maintaining his attention on the Pokemon rather than yourself. "It isn't wises for trainers to adventure in the Dragon's Descent alone, especially right now." Lucario looks back at you, the Garchomp was still struggling but the Lucario was struggling with the way the man had addressed you. Did he not know he was speaking to royalty? King Ghidorah- As Salandit moves to warm itself alongside Houndoom, you retrieve an empty ball from your bag. The Swinub had gone into the battle knowing of the possible outcome, it had already made its choice. Considering it was food that brought you together to begin with, it only seemed fitting to capture it with a Gingerbread ball. You toss the ball forward, landing a perfect hit as it strikes the exhausted Swinub. A red light draws the Ice type inside before the ball snaps shut and begins to shake, back and forth in the snow. Eventually it comes to a stop with a resounding click, the capture was successful! You caught a lvl 13 Male Swinub. It has the ability Thick Fat as well as Egg Moves Icicle Spear and Ancient Power! As you head over to collect your capture, you notice the Piloswine turn and leave with her remaining child. A goodbye would be too painful, but she would rest easy knowing her child would be cared for. You pick up the sweet smelling ball and returning to your Pokemon. They were cold, hungry and in need of attention. Thankfully, fate seemed to be on your side. "Oh hello there", a woman draped in a heavy fur coat approaches. She pulls down her hood, revealing locks of long golden hair. A basket full of herbs rests in her left hand, while a strange pink pin stands out against the brown of her coat. "You look like you've been through a bit, you didn't head into the Winter's Wrath by yourself did you? I'm a member of the Healers Guild, we have a camp set up nearby, why don't you come warm yourself up by our fire and we can see about healing your Pokemon?" It was a generous offer, surely one you couldn't refuse? |

TKF: Although you froze up in the heat of the moment, your Pokemon didn't. Chimchar jumped into action without you, ordering Cyndaquil and Grottle effectively as if you were calling out the commands. Meanwhile, while your chimp was firing off commands with a hope that you will soon snap out of your blank state, Kieara and Simba were ready and fired off their super powered move. The clouds rumbled ominously, a clear warning of what was about to come. The air grew heavy, and everyone could feel through the static of the Electric Terrain that even more electricity was coming. Came it did, and with a very powerful boom and a flash so fast there was no way anyone could move fast enough to dodge the huge bolt of lightning that was dropped upon your team. The move that was inaccurately named for the sound that heralds its forthcoming, for, in reality, it was a hyper version of a regular "Thunderbolt". It was strong enough to push your Grottle back enough for it to be dangerously close to the edge of the Butte. Your breath caught in your lungs, not helping your current frozen state. Thanks to you having Grottle Curse up, he was able to withstand the attack without any apparent damage, though he did seem to have paralysis from the electrical attack. Cyndaquil and Chimchar both clung on dearly to their grass type friend for fear of falling off, for it would mean the end. Grottle jumped right back into the action however by causing the Sun to burn off the rain clouds by shaking his leaves and then stomping on the ground. The Luxray was struck by the power of the earth but its daughter luxio avoided the devastating blow with Magnet Rise. Clever move you thought. Apparently, Chimchar was Assisting in the battle as well for Simba was struck with Two Earth Power attacks. And Cyndaquil tried striking the Luxio with an Extrasensory attack, but there was no apparent damage yet if it had struck. Flying high above the battle, unknown to all battling participants below it, a giant pokemon watched the match. If any were to look at it and how it was circling the Butte, one could say that it was interested in the battle below and could be the fabled Guardian of the Butte, but only time could tell for certain on both accounts. What will you do? Stormingwolf: The Swinub looked back between you and its brother Manny the Mamoswine and then nodded pressing its nose against the balls button mechanism, opening it up and being beamed inside with a red flash of light. One rock, two rockings, three rockings, CLICK! The tiny holographic stars flashed to show that you had indeed caught Swinub. A feeling of pride swelled through you, your first Ever capture of a Pokemon, you hardly remember how you came across Rolu your partner, and while he counts as your first Pokemon this was your first (or rather second ) Pokemon! Now you got up and dusted yourself a bit, and you thanked the Mamoswine by hugging it a little, sure it was awkward but you were deeply grateful for it, no to him for bringing Rolu to you and keeping him safe, as well as allowing its brother to journey with you. Now you walked over to Kaleth to join her and the other people to sit and eat a warm meal before you all went out into the bitterly cold biting wind. Upon getting your food, Kaleth motioned you over to sit by her, a rug laid out for the two of you to sit warmly on. " You did wonderful my dear boy, be proud of today for you stopped a Froslass from eating many of us, and you bravely forged onward to battle it and allowed it for capture. Why if you were one of the Sirusan you would be applauded and be proven as a true person, a man. And that is why I want you to have these. " Kaleth pressed into your hands a few objects; Two Tm's, a beaded necklace, and a small nugget like statue perhaps you could possibly sell, wait no that would be mean to do, but wait, Kaleth attached a note to the statue which said "this statue is indeed made from nuggets and you must sell it, go buy yourseyourself somesome good clothing my dear boy." Aww, how sweet of her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You should be able to sell the statue for 500$ The TM's contain Psychic and Earthquake And the beaded necklace is a reminder of what happened, keep it or not that is up to you. Swinub is at level Fifteen, gender is male Nature and Ability are yours to choose And it has the move Icicle Crash as an EM

Xander watched as his Pokemon did their best to make up for his absence, managing to hold on despite the tremendous power of the Thunder. Grotle had taken the brunt of the hit as the trio was pushed to the edge of the Butte. Thankfully they held on, but it was close, too close. It was all his fault, he shouldn't have lost his cool like that. Seeing his Pokemon rally in his absence reminded him that he had to play his part in this battle as well. He wouldn't freeze again, he'd lead his Pokemon to victory! The sun was out again and shining strongly, there fire attacks would be boosted once more. The big issue however was Grotle's paralysis, it was already slowed by the Curses, now it would struggle to move anymore. Grotle didn't seem too distressed however, with the sun shining again, the bushes on its back undergo rapid Growth. In the harsh sunlight, it would boost the Grotle's attack and special attack at twice the rate! "Excellent work Grotle, try not to move too much, fire off Razor Leaf to hit Luxray and Luxio! With the Curse and Growth boosts, the Razor Leaf would surely sting. Cyndaquil and Chimchar stepped out from beside Grotle, much happier to be out of the rain. "Chimchar run into Cyndaquil with a Flame Charge!" The attack would boost the Chimchar's speed as well as the power of Cyndaquil's Fire moves, courtesy of Flash Fire. "Then go in for a Power-up Punch on Luxio! Cyndaquil keep the Luxray at a distance with Ember, then bathe it and Luxio in another Heat Wave!" His Pokemon were likely less experienced than their opponents, but Xander hoped that the stat boosts they were gathering would be enough to swing the battle in their favour. |

"I-I'm sorry." She murmured, looking at the man with clear confusion in her eyes. The hood to her brown cloak hung behind her back, displaying the rest of her brown outfit. She wrapped the long cloak around herself, trying to cover her arms from the blistering cold. "We just landed here on my Pidgeotto, we had no idea there was danger present." She looked down at the Garchomp again. "I'm not from these parts... what exactly is the Hunter's Guild?" She asked, tilting her head. "Also, is everything alright with that Garchomp? He looks a tad... unusual." Alastor grimaced hearing his master talk to a commoner in such a polite tone, he was used to hearing the King and his men be so gruff and stern with the public... that's how it should be. "You're not alone." Spoke Alastor, telepathically to the young woman. "He can clearly see that I'm here." He stressed the word clearly, brow furrowing as he looked at his master. The female trainer sighed, looking at the Lucario. "Oh, s-sorry for asking so many questions. I get ahead of myself sometimes." She chuckled slightly, trying to think of proper manners when meeting someone new. "I'm Olivia. Do you um... need any help with that Garchomp? I'm sure me and Al could be of some assistance." Calix moved around his trainers legs, brushing against them as she spoke to the man. "Don't call me Al." Muttered Alastor telepathically, clearly upset at his professional sounding name being shortened.

He looked to Houndoom, Salandit, and Weavile. The three were dozing off in the snow. Hugo knew he didn’t have much choice now. He recalled the trio to their Pokeballs and turned to the woman. Her golden hair starkly contrasted against the bitter gray of the wrath, and the scent of the herbs was certainly enticing. Hugo’s senses were telling him that he should follow this woman. But what did they know? Sometimes it was more important to act logically if you want to survive. Then again, overthinking everything wasn’t a concept unfamiliar to Hugo as well. He smiled. “Thanks, that would be very helpful. I feel like hell and probably look like it too.” He tried to dust some of the dirt from his heavy coat. It released in a cloud, causing him to choke a bit. “So you’re with the healers, are you? We’re certainly going to need some of that. My name is Hugo, and yes, I am the idiot who tried to take on the wrath too. And I would have done it too if it weren’t for those meddling kids!” Awkward. Hugo forced some uncomfortable laughter. “Anyway, having been through this, next I intend to take on the Edelweiss Guardian. But enough about me. Say, what’s with the pink pin you’ve got there? It’s very…striking.”

Naru- After apologising for your presence in this dangerous part of the Cradle, you begin to search for information. You really had no knowledge of your surrounds, but hopefully this 'hunter' would be willing to fill you in. As you continue to scan over the man, you make a guess at his age. Maybe early thirties? It was hard to tell, but you feel like you're on the money. A short beard lines his chiselled jaw and a rough looking mop of brown hair sits on his head. Still assessing the Garchomp, the man begins to answer your questions.
"Really, another one? You wayward travellers are always getting yourselves in trouble, you're always charging in without gathering any information. Firstly, my name is Harrow. The Hunters Guild is a collection of rough bastards like myself who put our necks on the line to ensure everyone in the Cradle is safe. When some Pokemon go on a rampage, some poachers try to get their hands on some Pokemon or a traveller finds themselves in a sticky situation, its normally up to us to sort things out. I stand among the higher ranked members of the guild, which is why I'm here instead of some ring in. Good observation on Garchomp, I'm afraid it isn't well at all. This isn't the first case I've seen, I tracked down a Druddigon with the same mutations and increased aggression. We still have no idea what is causing it, but I'm hoping to find the source. As to whether I could use your help, that depends on what kind of assistance you can offer. Tell me, got any skills? Your Lucario seems to have a decent head on it, probably saved you from getting scorched just before." However, with Alastor taking his foot off the Garchomp, the dragon sees an opening for escape. The dragon kicks out, slipping one foot free from the Gogoat's vines. That's all it needs as it rises up, slashing at the vines as it frees itself once more. It leaps from the ground and takes off, struggling to fly right in its current state. "Bastard", Harrow spits as he rushes back to his Gogoat. He pulls himself up onto the imposing Grass type, but by the time he does so, the Garchomp is out of sight. "Well you certainly make for a good distraction", he growls at you as he nudges his mount forward. "Now I've got to track it again, who knows what state it'll be in by then." It seems all your questions have given the Garchomp a chance to escape. Would you leave Harrow to go about his business, or would you try and make a mends and help him track the dragon? King Ghidorah- You accept the woman's offer of a warm fire and some healing for your Pokemon, however at this point you find yourself struggling to trust people. Trust was hard, at the best of times it was hard to trust yourself, let alone trusting others. However this woman's bright smile gave you a warm feeling, maybe it was okay to trust her? She introduces herself as Heidi and explains the pin simply marks her as a member of the Healers Guild. You walk with her towards her camp, briefly explaining what you have been through and your intentions going forward. When you mention wanting to challenge the Edelweiss Guardian, you're left stunned as she lets out burst of laughter. She tries to restrain herself and soon apologises for her reaction and explains herself. "I'm so sorry Hugo, I shouldn't have laughed. You see when you've been here as long as me and seen so many try and fail, it just becomes a bit hard to take people seriously. In all honesty, I haven't met anyone who has even made it to the top of the mountain, let alone met the Guardian. By all means attempt the journey, but I urge you to prepare first. Once we get your Pokemon healed up I could help you find some herbs, they might make the journey a little easier." You soon arrive at the Healers Guild camp, a warm fire crackles at its centre. No one else seems to be here right now, they were likely out carry out duties of their own. Heidi fills a bowl with soup and sets you up by the fire while she begins to take care of your Pokemon. She uses a mixture of traditional medicine and herbal medicine to fully restore them before instructing them to warm by the fire. With her job done, she takes a seat across from you. "So there are a few things that I think might help you in your journey. We can try and dig up some energy root, possibly even find some revival herb. I've also been experimenting with a heat balm, it might help some of your Pokemon combat the cold. I've got most of the ingredients I need, but I'm going to need a balm mushroom, which I'm sure you know are rare. So, would you like me to help you find some herbs for your journey or are you going to just go for it?" |

At any rate, Hugo began to rethink his strategy. He launched himself headfirst into the Wrath, and even though he didn’t regret his actions, perhaps he could have accomplished more with a slightly less adversarial approach. And while the Wrath was tough, the Edelweiss was something completely different. A mountain of frozen stone. Not exactly what one might consider a hospitable environment. This time, he thought, it would be in his best interest to take a lesson from those who know the area better than he. “You know, Heidi, you’d be surprised how much I don’t know for someone in the situation that I’m in. I didn’t know that the balm mushroom was rare. I don’t even know what a balm mushroom is. But that…and the energy root…and whatever else you think may help, I’m all for it. After all, I did complete the Sirunsan challenge in the wrath. It ended on…less than favorable terms...but I did complete it. And much of that revolved rooting around the snow. So if we need to track them down, then track them we shall. So uh…nobody has met the Guaradian?”

"I'll take good care of him, Manny." "You have my gratitude for keeping Rolu safe." The two went over to enjoy a nice warm meal. "Ah, this warm meal is delicious" Rolu nodded, he seemed to be enjoying it too. Rolu and Storm went over to Kaleth. "Thank you, Kaleth." "I shall wear this beaded necklace as a memento of what happened here." Storm put the beaded necklace around his neck. Storm observed the note on the nugget statue. "I'll hold onto it for a bit before selling it, just to cherish the memory" "This was certainly an interesting adventure." "I'm glad to have met everyone and I am happy that I now have one other pokemon." "One other friend..." "The time has come for us to continue our travels, but where should we go?" Rolu jumped on Storm's shoulder and nudged him a certain direction. "Over there, then, or so it seems." "Farewell, everyone." "May we meet again one day." Storm waved goodbye to everyone. Then he turned around and started walking. One adventure ended and another has yet to begin.... |

TKF: Grottle's Growth was really truly rapid, with the rain and now the extreme sunlight, they must have grown at least twice as big as they were, and that was good because now he could use those huge leaves for Razor Leaf. He didn't have to do much to shake them free and throw them to the pair of electric types. You also had Chimchar hit Cyndaquil with a FlameCharge, boosting both Chimchars speed and your Cyndaquils attack power with Fire-type moves. Chimchar, showing off his speed, did as you told him to and ran it to Punch Kieara. Although she was levitating off the ground, she was not immune to any other type of attack. She gathered some power herself and prepared to bite Chimchar with another thunder fang, but she flinched right before she connected with him. This flinch that was probably from Cyndaquils Extrasensory attack moments ago, and it allowed Chimchar to smack Kieara with an uppercut punch, sending her rolling head over heels backward. This move also boosted his attack too, if he were to keep using it, the level difference wouldn't matter anymore. Cyndaquil during Chimchar's attack hit Simba with an Ember right in the face, making him growl in discomfort and try and wipe at his eye's with a paw. Then Cyndaquil took and made a wave of Heat blast from his flames to hit Kieara and Simba, the Sunny day boosting the power of the attack to make it more of a hit than it was last time. Both electric types were pushed back, even more, giving you and your pokemon more room to now be able to use the battlefield to their own advantage. Simba wasn't ready to give up, however, and Howled, then drawing upon the electric terrain, he surrounded himself with electricity and Charged to Cyndaquil and Grottle in a Wild manner. Keiara also stood back up and then dug into the ground with her claws digging a hole for her to hide in, and attack the Chimchar that she was getting increasingly annoyed with. With this going on, the pokemon that was hovering above the battlefield decided to land out of sight of you and the battling pokemon by a small pool that was here on the Butte from the previous rain storm. This pokemon than unclasped its arms and stuck them in the water. What it was doing, well... It was sucking up the water inside its arms. What will you do next?

Luxio had used Dig, seemingly going in for some revenge on Chimchar. It would be a Super Effective hit, if it hit that was.... Luxray was coming into close quarters, trying to charge at Cyndaquil and Grotle. Cyndaquil couldn't handle a hit like that, but Grotle with its defense boost and resistance could easily muster the strength.... Time for action! "Chimchar quickly follow the Luxio down the hole and strike it from behind with Flame Charge!" The Luxio wouldn't be able to turn around down there and if Chimchar was in the hole it couldn't emerge to land its hit. "Follow up with another Power-up Punch! Cyndaquil, Quick Attack to conceal yourself behind Grotle. Grotle, meet Luxray head on with Superpower! Cyndaquil, while Luxray is on the back foot, shoot out from under Grotle and blast it with a Heat Wave. Grotle drive an Earth Power into Luxray to make it really feel the hurt!" As his orders left his mouth, Xander realised that it wasn't just his Pokemon growing stronger from this fight, he was as well. They had to be close to victory, surely the Luxio and Luxray couldn't take much more. Last edited by TheKnightsFury; 03-29-2019 at 07:37 PM. |

King Ghidorah- As you listen to Heidi rattle off some options for healing items, you realise it is probably a good idea to stock up. You express to Heidi your desire to gather up anything that will help you in your endeavour. You also question whether anyone has met the Guardian.
"Well I've heard some of the Sirunsan speak of a legendary warrior who once journeyed to the Edelweiss to challenge the Guardian. They say he was the strongest warrior the Cradle has ever seen and the Pokemon that travelled alongside him were unrivalled. They say he barely made it back alive, that his mind was fried and his body covered in strange burns. He lived out his days in a hut at the base of the mountain. Other than that, I know of no one else who has ever seen the guardian and lived." Heidi gives you a moment to think as she begins to gather up some things. If the Cradle's greatest warrior had suffered like that against the Guardian, what hope did you have? "Alright Hugo, I'm ready to go when you are", Heidi tosses a Pokeball out in front of herself, realising a Slurpuff onto the snow covered ground. The strange, dog-like Fairy Pokemon sniffs at the air, inhaling every new and enticing aroma. Heidi then pulls three items out of her pockets. Part of a leaf, the tip of a root and the stem of a mushroom. "Don't suppose you have any other Pokemon with a good sense of smell on you? Your Houndoom should help, I figure if we divide and conquer we can gather the ingredients a bit quicker. Heidi presents the leaf to her Slurpuff, allowing it to catch the scent of the Revival Herb. After inhaling the scent, the Fairy type begins to sniff around, hoping to pick up a similar scent nearby. It heads off in search of the medicinal plant."Slurpuff will find some Revival Herb for us, that just leaves us to track down the Energy Root and Balm Mushroom." |

A Pokemon with a good sense of smell to help find the herbs. “You know, Houndoom has been through quite a bit,” Hugo said. “Even with the rest, I don’t want to wear her out. But I’ve got another idea.” Hugo pulled the Gingerbread Ball from his backpack and called out Swinub. The Pig Pokemon eyed his new trainer from the ground as if to say “so, let’s see how this is going to work?” Hugo shrugged and nodded back seeming to understand. “I caught Swinub here just before you showed up,” Hugo explained to Heidi. Swinub, meanwhile, was eyeing up the Slurpuff, licking his lips and slowly inching toward it. Hugo, noticing this, jumped in its path. “You know, it’s not an actual cake, right? You can’t eat the Slurpuff. Besides, you just ate!” Swinub scowled. Not off to the best of starts. “Okay, okay, relax. Let’s address the task at hand first, then snacks. I promise.” A few seconds past and the Swinub turned away in apparent agreement, but not before kicking up some mud directly onto Hugo’s shoes. “Oh come on, dude, don’t be like that. You’re embarrassing me,” he lowered his voice, “you’re embarrassing me in front of Heidi.” Did she hear? Probably. It wasn’t exactly the most subtle of exchanges going on. “Alright, so look, we need to find a Balm Mushroom and an Energy Root. You’ve lived in this area for your whole life, certainly you know what those smell like, right? Let’s see if we can find them. Oh, and DON’T EAT THEM.”

Unfortunately for her, the humidity was not something that Alice did well with. It was one of the reasons why Leniazom Banks had been her starting point, as she could stop like she did now to dip her feet in and refresh; socks and bright pink trainers set aside while she dipped her feet in the cool water. Her Lotad, a deeper shade of pink than her t-shirt and shoes, was paddling next to her while she took a deep drink from her canteen. It helped him rehydrate, and while the venturing idol was keeping an eye on things, he could ward away any dangers that might decide they wanted to snack on her prettily painted toes. It was just as well, really. Alice hadn't been herself as of late, mind occupied by the ever stranger turns her life took. She might have, to some degree, figured out her origins. That didn't change the gaps in later or recent memories. The most concerning omissions were where journeys had taken a precarious turn, and Alice couldn't recall how they ended, almost as if... They had not ended favourably. And then, there would be missing time and a rude awakening, almost as if... Had she ever been to the Cradle before, in spirit, only to be turned away or sent off for another try? And if so, how many times had this happened? Ghosts were known entities in this world. Why, Jasper the Sableye was one of her companions for this trip. People had died and come back, too. Was it so far fetched to wonder if she had done the same...? Would this be an adventure where they recalled the end...? “Lotad,” Lorin prompted, noticing his human's faraway look, big lips pulled into a concerned frown. Alice smiled, reaching down to tickle him lovingly. “Lotad, lo...” “I know. I'm alright, I promise.” She assured. It was a lie, though, and they both knew it.

TKF: The metallic pokemon finished draining the nearby pond and puddle which were leftovers from the past few battles. It then locked its arms back up and sat back content to finish watching the match. You were planning on finishing this fight with a last hoorah because surely Simba and Keiara were not able to continue fighting much longer, although to be sure you had your pokemon perform several moves you thought that would finish them. Chimchar cloaked itself in flames and charged down the hole Kieara had dug and slammed into her while she tried to dig through the soft earth. You couldn't actually see the next attack hit but you did hear it, and then saw the luxio come flying up out of the ground as if she were punched from behind, which is exactly what had happened. Kieara landed hard and then struggled to stand up, before collapsing and beginning to pant hard. There was certainly no way she was coming back into the fight. Simba charged forward surrounded by electricity in the last ditch effort to try and take your pokemon down. Cyndaquil dashed behind Grottle and took shelter under the sturdy Grass typed body, while the grass type met the Luxray head-on with some superpower, both pokemon obviously took damage, but only Simba staggered backward from the blow. Seeing his chance the little firey mouse like pokemon speed out and Baked Simba in a wave of super-hot heat, and to top it all off, Grottle threw in one more Earth Power, which sent the electric lion tumbling even more, before sliding to a stop by his daughter luxio. "Enough." The voice trembling with power, even though it had no mouth to be spoken from, but rather a mind. THUD... THUD.... TTHUD...... A giant red and yellow goldy pokemon sauntered over to the middle between your pokemon and the pair of cats. "I have watched you two take on opponent after opponent, each stronger than the last, waiting for a trainer and waiting for a chance to battle me to prove your worth to your former pride. This would have been your fiftieth match, had you won, And let me tell you, you don't need it. I do not need to battle you two to see your worth nor should you need to prove it. Continue back to your pride and tell them what took place here. Your wounds would be proof enough." The new pokemon turned to you and spoke directly at you " As for you, you have one this match, now go on. You may be a good battler but I do not want nor need trainers to be here longer than a match. Take your partner s and travel elsewhere. It then unclasped its arms with a mighty clanging noise and took off in the air with a steam blast. Well, that was unexpected. What will you do now? ------------------------- Grottle has gained three levels while Cyndaquil and Chimchar Four.

"Skills? Well, somewhat. I haven't done a lot of battling myself... but I can certainly hold my own." Replied Olivia. "Oh, yes." She smiled, "Alastor takes his role as my protector very seriously." Alastor blushed hearing her praises, his foot had already lifted from the Garchomp's head, but now he had taken a few steps away to stand near Olivia. The Garchomp saw it's opening, leaping back to it's feet and quickly flying away. Harrow growls seeing it make it's escape, leaping back to his Gogoat. "I-I'm sorry!" Olivia exclaimed, glancing at Alastor sternly before returning him to his Pokeball. "It's only right Alastor and I help you track it back down for all the trouble we caused." She quickly fumbled around in her outfit and produced a Luxury Ball, summoning her own mount. "Helios, I need your help." She murmured to the unicorn, stroking it's snout as it gave a reassuring nod in response. Helios had been with her the longest, a pony bought for her when she was a little girl, and now he had grown into an imposing flaming unicorn. Olivia mounted the large horse, gesturing him to follow Harrow. "I'll follow your lead, sir." She proclaimed, a furrowing of the brow to show her determination.

Xander didn't really feel obliged to listen to the orders of a Pokemon, even a legendary one. However, he'd achieved what he wanted from the Butte, so perhaps it was time to head elsewhere. He recalled Grotle and Cyndaquil for a moment, they wouldn't be capable of making the descent. He kept Chesnaught in its ball as well, he was feeling confident after the battle, the climb down would be easy. They'd then make their way back to the settlement they'd found, Xander had an idea about where he wanted to go next. Quote:

King Ghidorah- Wishing to save Houndoom's strength for later, you call on your newest Pokemon to aid you in your search for ingredients. The Swinub was initially distracted by the sweet smelling Slurpuff, but eventually you turn its attention to the task at hand. If anyone was going to make quick work of finding these ingredients, it would be Swinub. Not only did it have an amazing sense of smell, it was also native to the area, giving it a home field advantage.
"Oh what an excellent choice, a cute choice as well!" Heidi drops down to greet the Swinub, showing it the Energy Root and Balm Mushroom. The Swinub inhales the heady aromas, the Energy Root didn't have a very pleasing smell, the Balm Mushroom however..... You knew what was about to happen, but you couldn't act fast enough to stop it. Swinub lunges, swallowing the piece of Balm Mushroom in one gluttonous gulp. You'd just told it not to do that! Thankfully, Heidi just laughs it off. "It's okay, I'm certain he got the scent, but maybe we should start on the Balm Mushroom just to be sure? What do you think Swinub? Want to find more of those yummy mushrooms?" Swinub's eyes light up, bloody oath it did! It begins to sniff through the snow, moving around quickly as it attempts to pick up a scent. It does several loops of Heidi and yourself before coming to a stop for a moment. Bingo! It shoots off through the trees, leaving Heidi and yourself to pursue. After eating the only piece of Balm Mushroom that Heidi had left, Swinub better hope he can find more, otherwise you'd be heading up the mountain without the Heat Balm. Naru- Feeling obligated to aid in the recapture of the Garchomp, you release Helios from his ball. The Rapidash's fiery mane ripples as you pull yourself onto his back, he'd have no issue keeping up with Harrow and his Gogoat. You urge Helios forward and the Rapidash takes off in pursuit of the hunter. Alastor tails behind while Calix holds tight to your back, not wanting to be thrown to the ground. Harrow looks back over his shoulder, he doesn't exactly seem pleased to see you following. "Stay sharp", he shouts back at you, "Garchomp isn't the only threat around here, keep your guard up." The pair of you barrel through the strange forest on your respective mounts, continuing down the steady slope of the Dragon's Descent. Harrow comes to a stop as you enter a clearing, he swings down from his Gogoat and begins to look for signs of the Garchomp. Alastor begins to search as well, perhaps the Lucario felt obligated due to his part in the Garchomp's escape? Calix looks around warily, the Alolan Meowth seems rather unsettled. His eyes jump from one tree to another, maybe he was just thrown off by the strange angle at which they grew, leaning back away from the centre of the Descent. Alastor lets out a bark, signalling that he has found something. Harrow strides over to inspect the Lucario's findings. He had indeed found something noteworthy, deep cuts on the lower section of a tree, certainly something the Garchomp would be capable of doing. Alastor then points out more cuts on surrounding trees, had the Garchomp really made all of these? Calix jumps down, something has caught his attention. He slowly makes his way towards a tree on the far side of the clearing, moving cautiously, like he knows something isn't right. Meowwwwww Calix cries out as something leaps at him. Harrow spins around as more figures leap into the clearing. "Ambush!" Harrow shouts as you find yourself surrounded. Calix was tumbling in the snow with one Pokemon, while three larger Pokemon eyed off Harrow and yourself. "Gabite", Harrow points out, "they must be trying to cover the Garchomp's escape." If the three larger Pokemon were Gabite, then that meant the smaller one wrestling with Calix must be a Gible! "We can't let them stomp us from getting to the Garchomp, we have to knock them out and continue our pursuit!" |

TKF: After climbing down the Butte, You walked into the nearest settlement. Dead Man's Rest. The first thing you did was send Cyndaquil and Chesnaught back to your grandfathers, then you decided to wander about the town. You pondered over how the battle went, you felt that you needed more power, perhaps a new Z-crystal and there could be a mine nearby here with the ore you are looking for... The issue was, you didn't know if any of the locals had anything like that and if they could help you. Something, however, did catch your eye. A sign was posted outside this antique shop, asking for help with payment included... but it did not list what sort of help was needed nor what the reward was. Who knows, perhaps this could be a way for you to find a Z-crystal... Only one way to find out though, and you took your steps up to the shop's door and entered. Upon entering, you noted it looked exactly as a clique antique shop would look like, but there weren't any people or pokemon in here... Tenaciously you called out, "Hello? Anyone here?" A harsh crash sounded in the back and sounds of someone or something scrambling to leave or get out of where ever it was. You rushed forward to the back door because perhaps it was an elderly pokemon or person trapped by whatever fell. Opening up the back door you found a Riolu trapped by some boxes, and although it wasn't hurt it was still frantically trying to remove itself. You helped it out by lifting the boxes off of it, and you found out that this riolu was starved and skinny, and had a wild look about its eyes, though it appeared to be tamed like as if it was a trainers pokemon. What will you do now?

Biggggg5: Skeptical as you are of the apparent Dr. Pine, you opt to play along with the slightly nutty woman and accept the alleged permit from her, instinctively clutching it with your fingertips as you aske her if she requires any assistance or anything in return. Her demeanour remains as artificial as ever as she stares at you unnveringly, but as you are about to exit the hut to look for your fossil, her hand falls upon your shoulder.
"W-wait a moment! You're forgetting something important!" Turning to face Pine, you couldn't help but notice that despite the smile, her eyes spoke of desperation and concern. "There are many important dig sites that are off limits to most people, but if it is a fossil you are searching for then you would be best to head for Site Irkalla. The researchers there should not be of too much bother to you, and...if you happen to come across anything unusual, please let me know. Above all else though..." What happened next would surely disturb, as Pine's demeanour and speech dropped faster than a divebombing Swellow, her face contorting into a grimace and voice deep as a black hole. "Do not heed the call of the silent voices." Just as quickly, her forced smile and cheery vocals returned. "Site Irkalla is located one mile south-southeast of this research station. It isn't hard to miss, just look for the giant skull. Good fortunes, sir!" With that, you are promptly bundled out of the station into the heat of the Mausoleum as Wake hops after you, before a racket behind you follows suit as Dr. Pine dumps a kit bag outside for you before closing the door with a frantic slam. Well, that was quite the welcome. Will you take the bag and head off for Site Irkalla? Or will you try your luck elsewhere? ----- Meetan: According to a well known song, the jungle is the place for fun and games, but right now you were seeking water and shade, having underestimated the level of humidity within Lythan'Torr. Your chromatically rosy Lotad by your side and your feet within the cooling waters of the Leniazom, you were lost within your own thoughts, questioning your origins and identity in a way. Was this reality, or had your body given up the fight, plunging your mind into its own fantasy while you lay vegetating on a hospital bed? What of your memories was real, and what was falsehood? All that aside, you were at least thankful for Lorin, the Lotad's concern for you providing comfort to your troubled mind as you declare yourself fine to the living lilypad, a little white lie to bring you some comfort, and one which floated about as well as a Graveler. Leaning back, you at least were comfortable among the long grass, small bug pokemon flitting around. A Caterpie slowly squirmed over your arm, the small feet tickling you as you look at its large eyes, scanning for some juicy leaves to munch on, while above you a small blue creature seemingly dozed, the Panpour at peace amone the trees. Then the rustling began. At first small, as though something was coming through the undergrowth towards you, perhaps something like a Deerling? However, as you listened more, you could hear the sound intensify, before a long droning noise echoed throughout the area, some sort of horn. You were aware that the natives of the glades, the Lythanki, resided around here. Perhaps it was a hunt? You sit up just in time to see a large blue thing crash through the bushes, the Panpour jumping at the sudden intrusion while the Caterpie panics and bolts, while Lorin crawls onto the shore ready to defend you, but on a second glance the large blue thing bolts right by you, dozens of legs wobbling frantically as you spot a distressed looking man clutching something unusual on the Tentacruel's back. The jellyfish promptly dives into the river and begins to whirl its many tentacles to begin jetting off, and as the man looks back his eyes fall on you, and he yells. "Kid! Run if you wanna live!" With that, the man and water pokemon bolt upstream at a rapid clip, yet the rustling sound only gets louder and louder, as if something is approaching...will you heed the stranger's advice, or will you try your luck and stand your ground? |

Absently, she reached for the pretty cloth at the top of her open bag, drying off her feet before shoving one foot into a shoe, the laces already done up (but not with extreme tightness). The Tentacruel was a shock in itself. Alice wished it was only that. "Y'know, I get the impression that he knows what he's on about. We should get out of here, Lorin." The dual-type gave a 'Lotad!' of agreement as his trainer swept him up, uncaring for the dampness now on her shirt. It was wet anyway. With both of her shoes on, Alice made to run as well. The only problem was, she wasn't the fastest thing, and she looked quite comical trying. If worst came to worst, well... She was one of Fizzytopia's finest. They could probably manage, right? Right.

They arrived at the scene of the accident to find a Riolu struggling under some boxes. Chimchar helped him free the young fighting type, which Xander couldn't help but notice looked fairly malnourished. It didn't act like a Wild Pokemon, it was too trusting of him, no, this had to be a Trainer owned Pokemon. Given its current condition, it hadn't seen its trainer in some time, was its owner the owner of the shop who needed assistance? "Hey there Riolu, you look a bit hungry buddy." Xander dug into his bag, retrieving a Sitrus Berry and two Pokeballs. He released Bayleef and Wartortle from their balls, the pair would lend a hand here. "Bayleef use your Aromatherapy to help Riolu relax", Xander then began to look around the room for a bowl or something he could hold water in. "Wartortle try and find a bowl or something and fill it with some water for Riolu." The Wartortle snorted, he wasn't the type who generally liked helping others, but even he felt a little moved after seeing the rough looking Riolu. Xander presented the Sitrus Berry to the young pup. "Here have this berry. Seems like your trainer has been gone for a while huh? Do you know where they went? Were you looking for something to help you find them when you knocked everything over? |

And that certainly was no easy feat. “Hey, SWINUB!” he called. “I’VE GOT PLENTY OF TASTY TREATS RIGHT HERE!” This was a lie, but it was worth a shot. The heavy backpack awkwardly bounced in all directions as Hugo charged through the heavy snow. Despite the cold, Hugo could feel the sweat pouring down his face. Combined with the bitter cold, Hugo knew it was only a matter of time before he would begin to lose feeling in his nose. He slowed his pace from a sprint to a jog and finally to a power walk, keeping pace with Heidi. “You know…I’m starting to get a bit concerned. I definitely think Swinub is going to find those mushrooms. I also definitely think he’s going to eat all of them. I had just captured Swinub right before you found me. I still don’t know him very well, other than that he never. stops. eating. So we’re still kind of feeling each other out, you know? I uh…I think we’ll be okay. You know, nothing to worry about. Probably.” “But uh…those mushrooms. Let’s say he did eat like…all of them? He’s going to be okay, right?”

Leo sighed as he looked towards the sky. It was so beautiful... The flashing lights and colors. The air tasted sweet, and the trees seemed to become all the colors of the rainbow. This place didn't feel like reality, more like a dream. He felt he could reach up and touch the stars if he just took a leap into the sky. A leap was all he needed, in this multi-colored, prismatic clearing. Yet something tugged at him. Feeling as if his arm started to move on its own, Leo started to rummage through his Pokeballs. Soon, one was produced from their storage, and a small mushroom appeared, blinking before flashing its little fungal heads. The trainer blinks at his Morelull before patting each of the mushrooms. "Sprinkles! You seem like a good fit for this place," Leo tells the small Pokemon as he looks around. The ground looked tempting, but he really felt like reaching towards the stars. The Morelull just makes a happy noise in response, looking around the environment. Leo then grabbed the grass-type, and he prepared himself. He was feeling weightless the entire time, but still felt... grounded. Sure, the trees were nothing like in Alola, and even were different colors than normal, but at this time they didn't seem interesting. The stars did. Those specs of light in the sky, shining every color imaginable... They called to him. It felt like it was a time to reach for the stars. It always was a one off dream he had as a kid, so getting an opportunity like this. He couldn't pass it up. And with that he makes his jump towards the stars in the sky.
