Important Notice to All Trainers!

BREAKING NEWS!!

Several days ago, sailors from Canalave City have had reports of a mysterious island appearing in the ocean at twilight and vanishing at dawn. After hearing the rumors, scientists have gone with the sailors to view the island and have visually confirmed it's existance. Originally the scientists planned to explore the island on foot, but powerful currents and the appearance of many strange Pokemon have kept them from actually reaching the island.

Now two scientists plan to venture to the island again. Professor Maria Luna and Doctor Terrae Mensis are planning a second attempt to reach the island, scheduled to depart on Feburary 7th of this year. The are asking strong Pokemon trainers to volunteer assistance in reaching and exploring the island, giving people a chance to be a part of an important discovery.

All trainers interested are to post here. Due to limited space on the ship, there is a limit of only eight trainers who will be allowed to join the expedition. If more than eight participants join, trainers will be chosen at random. It is suggested that your Pokemon be at level 25 or greater for their own safety. All questions regarding this should also be posted in this thread.

* Would Pokemon encountered (and captured) be at Level 25+? Or would all captures revert to low levels like 4, 5, 6?

* Would it be advisable for a person eager to join to join if he has only two creatures at Level 25 by February 7?

I may have one at level 25 by that time. I'll edit this message if I do. I'd like to try, if advisable, but if I really can't, then please disregard me in the running for adventuring.

Edit: Also, would it be advisable for me to join if I am eager, and have no pokemon above level 25, but one close to there?

There will be no capturing during the campaign. Pokemon will appear at roughly levels 20 or higher.

It wouldn't be bad.

I should also state: Pokemon in this campaign can be used regardless of their current location on someone's team. In other words, you can use a Pokemon from your PC or even a Pokemon in a shop and it will still be on your team in the campaign. But, any moves, levels, or any other additions to your Pokemon will not count after the starting day. So if your Pokemon is level 25 on Feburary 7th, it will only count as level 25 until the campaign's end. Any level ups will be counted at the end. The campaign is independent of outside factors. Also, level 25 is suggested.

Then, I'd like to sign up. If levels are going to be factored in at the end, and Pokemon can still be used in shops and stuff, then I don't see too much of a problem. I'll have to spend quite a few candies before February 6, but other than that ...

Well, I plan on it being anywhere from three to six months, but I know nothing ever goes according to people's timelines and will probably end up being ridiculously long. xd.

Betagold, as I said, it is a level suggestion. There is no mandated minimum. But if you are weaker than opposing Pokemon, it can be very challenging to keep up with the rest of the participants.

Since there are, as of now, 17 people signed up, and you have to select 8 random trainers, when will the names of those who are going be announced? I ask this to know when I'll know whether or not I need to train my Pokemon up for this.

Since there's so many who wish to participate, I might extend the group to 12. But this is still up in the air.

Anyway, I'll close sign-up on the January 25th and announce who will be participating that weekend. Then I'll make the thread and ask people post their teams and levels and other important information by February 4th. The adventure will start on February 7th.

In the unlikely event that I get picked ... do you think you could make it February the 5th instead? Level gains from the daycare or from a Monday-picked-up-Candy can't count otherwise, since February 4th is a Monday. Even if I don't get picked, I'm sure that the other hopeful newbie members have probably got the same thought. (That February 4th's final Daycare level gain + candy pickup will mean 2 extra levels before the levels get frozen in stone for your adventure.)
