Zone Alarm + Windows Update.
Last Tuesday (?) I had no internet because Zone Alarm and a new Windows update apparently didn't agree, and a week later there's still no fix, so I can either limit ZA's protection or remove the Windows update.
The question is, which is worth keeping - high protection on ZA, or the Windows update to prevent hackers from cracking through loop holes in Vista (I use XP)? ... Also, happy UPN anniversary Talon. You're almost ready to begin your Pokemon journey. :O

Where was our Bastille Day post? What does talon hate UPN now?
There'd better be a good reason for this, i.e. he got some chick knocked up, or he got arrested.

Re: Zone Alarm + Windows Update.
I was hoping for a damicatz response deriding both Microsoft and/or Zone Alarm, but I guess it's a slow week? Suffice to say, ZO made me download a whole new update to their firewall, but like with other technologies I don't understand I don't know if it actually fixed the problem or if I'm vulnerable.
My sister had her identity stolen a couple days ago by a hacker in Virginia, and while I take more precautions then her and seed fake information all over the place, my finances (notably my investment portfolio), as pathetically small as they are, can still be reached if someone were to invade my computer. My computer illiteracy drives my skepticism of the protection of Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and Anti-Spyware software because how would I be able to tell if they're legit or actually a placebo, or worse yet help invite intrusion into my own computer?
