Shifting Stadium (Outdoor Custom Arena)
*It's a pleasant day out and the roars of an excited crowd can be heard all over a huge stadium. Up above in a booth is a young-looking Trainer wearing a badge of sorts. He fixes a microphone on his collar and shouts with excitement to the crowd.*

Yahoo! Welcome one and all on this great day! I hope you're excited as I am, because we have a matchup between these two trainers. On one side we have TalkSick! This is an ever-confident Trainer who's never sick of aiming for the top. On the opposing side, it's Ger! This Trainer has made a recent return from parts unknown, strategies and interests are shrouded in mystery and they're about to show just what they can do.

*You can hear cheers and chants rooting for both sides.*

This is your Announcer, Trot Away, as well as your Ref for this matchup unlike any other! And do we got a real doozy for you folks. In this special battle we fixed special crystals into the arena that greatly enhances a pokemon's natural Type power. That means Trainers will be allowed to have their pokemon use any kind of move that matches their type...That's right, ANY move, even special attacks available for an exclusive few. How exciting is that?! But be mindful that noes NOT mean Normal types have access to all Typeless attacks (Unless they naturally learn it, of course.)!

But that's not all, we've also got a pretty unusual arena the Trainers are going to do battle in. Let me introduce you folks to Shifting Stadium!

*The huge monitor switches to a view of pictures and a female-sounding voice disclosing info about the arena:

Quote:
A large stadium similar to Pummelo Stadium that shifts environments on a regular basis. It can simulate many more environments than Pummelo Stadium, however. The stadium shifts once every 4 or 5 rounds, to a random environment. The environments are:
Normal Stadium (10% chance): Not really an environment, but a normal stadium with the same rules as a Clay Arena. All battles must start with this environment.
Grass Field (10% chance): A grass field almost exactly like the Grass Field from the Indigo League in the Anime. In other words, all grass and nothing else.
Rock Field (10% chance): A Rock Field almost exactly like the Rock Field from the Indigo League. There are several Snorlax-sized boulders in this arena.
Water Field (10% chance): A Water Field almost exactly like the Water Field from the Indigo League. In other words, there are two Snorlax-sized platforms floating on the surface of the water, across from each other.
Ice Field (10% chance): An Ice Field similar to the Ice Field from the Indigo League, with a few very small glaciers around the arena.
Forest Fire (10% chance): A Forest Arena, except the forest is on fire, and the fire does spread quickly.
Beach (10% chance): A Beach Arena, but without all the volleyball nets and other things you might find at a beach, other than... well, the actual beach.
Snow-Capped Mountain (10% chance): A few enormous snow-capped mountains. They aren't very hard to climb for a Pokemon with sharp claws or Pokemon that can grip the ice, but other Pokemon will have some problems.
Swamp (10% chance): A Swamp Arena, with simulated fog. There is a fog machine somewhere in the arena, and the fog will become much less dense if the fog machine is destroyed.
Desert (10% chance): A vast desert, full of cacti. However, in most cases, it will be a desert without the extremely high temperatures.
One arena can be picked up to three times in a row, but an unlimited amount of times for the entire match
As you can see, the arena will change from time to time into various environments before your very eyes. Somehow we got the technology for that purpose! If I were battling i'd choose pokemon that can adapt well...Yep, i'm sure with all of this, it's going to be a blast! And now-- Huh?

Hey! Wait for me! *A second voice interrupts with the mic still feeding to the arena. A spritely Cinccino rushes onto the scene and arrives beside the boy. He looks pretty excited himself.* Whew, I made it. Heya there!

Oh, hey Samy! I was wondering where you went off to. This battle is pretty much about to begin. Are you ready to help me out as my assistant?

You bet. We all are!

Good, so...Wait, "All"?

Oh yeah, I bought along some of our friends along to help out too. *He grins, but there is a suddenly rumbling in the distance...*

*Sweatdrops.* H-huh? Just who did you bring along?? *The rumbling gets more intense...*

That would be us! *Multiple voices declare in unison before a multitude of pokemon rush in as a miniature stampede!*

Huh?! WHOOA...! *The lot comes at him and you hear a loud crash! When the dust cloud clears, he's surrounded by a company 9 other pokemon. He's left seeing stars, but eventually comes to.* Oooh...Whew, this is quite a surprise, guys and gals!

We thought it would be fun if you changed pokemon partners like the arena, so we all came along to play our part, hope ya don't mind!

Mind? Nah, that was trampled on a few seconds ago. Haha! But sure, I can make this work. But we can't all fit here...So everybody back into your pokeballs, please! *He takes out several pokeballs and draws his friends into them, leaving the Cinccino still out.*

With that craziness over with, let's get started at last. Time to kick things off with TalkSick's team first!

Considering they were done earlier before this thread came up, the new ones are technically valid. I'll allow you to edit them here if you wish!

Round 1: Rainy Days and Raging Earth!

And right on cue, it looks like our Trainers in question have taken their positions and are fit to battle it out! Ger takes a moment before choosing to send out Newdai, their trusty Wooper! Wet or dry, this one is ready so show his opponents his power! TalkSick thinks for a moment and decides to send out a member of their crew that's pretty adaptable too. Because out comes Faecast, their reliable Castform! She may not look like much now, but she's an expert when it comes to changing the weather!

But there's no predicting what will happen here, because these two are good and ready to battle it out! They stare each other down here on this now Normal Field. Here's our battlers' species info in the on the big screen:

Quote:

Wooper (Water/Ground): Wooper are good swimmers, but they are just as comfortable on land. They are coated with a slimy substance, which makes them harder to grab and prevents them from being affected by Electric attacks when wet.

[Water]: Water-type Pokémon are generally able to hold their breath and/or breathe underwater. The time varies, from several rounds in the case of birds, mammals and reptiles to indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are generally good swimmers, with fish excelling the most, and are better at manipulating Water for moves like Surf and Whirlpool than other Pokémon, using less energy to do so even outside of water. Their Surf and Whirlpool attacks do not lose potency when used without a water source.

[Ground]: Ground-type Pokémon are considered to be immune to electricity while standing on the ground. If a Ground Pokémon is in the air, they take 0.75x the usual damage from Electric-type attacks, and will take neutral damage from Electric when wet. Ground types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water. Ground-type Pokémon are more adept at manipulating outdoor and 'natural' environments than other Pokémon and will spend less energy using Dig, Earthquake etc. This allows them to use Ground attacks on any surface, with the exception of Dig. They can also cause the ground to shake more vigorously when using Earthquake and Bulldoze.

Castform (Normal): Castform change their shape, as well as their type, depending on the weather. They will become a Water-type while it's raining, a Fire-type during a Sunny Day and an Ice-type in Hail or Snow. Castform remain Normal during "normal" weather. Their weather changing attacks are much more powerful than normal, starting almost instantly at full power, lasting twice as long as usual and being much harder to change against Castform's wishes. They fight more enthusiastically in atypical weather conditions and their attacks are faster to charge in such environments. Castform levitate by default.

[Normal]: Normal-type Pokémon are able to use support moves to greater effect than other Pokémon, with them being performed slightly quicker and being slightly more potent. Being beings of great balance, they benefit more from the positive effects of weather and other arena affecting moves, but will not suffer as badly from the negative effects. In the ASB, Normal-types take resisted damage from the damaging effects of Ghost-type energy.

Good to know. And Faecast is already kicking things off with an attempt of her freaky forecasting that'll fix things into her favor. She Dances and wavers about and quickly sends some energy up that disperses into the sky. Better break out your umbrellas, folks. Because this pokemon's Forecast calls for some Rain! It's starting to rain Purrloins and Lilipups already. Both Newdai and Faecast seem happy about the fact that it's coming down, but the latter is suddenly changing shape...Faecast has transformed into her fitting Rain Form, that's only going to help her out! But Newdai has other things in mind, it seems. He appears to be gurgling and holding something in. Don't tell me he's sick? No, that queasy look he's got is all part of his plan to trouble his opponent. He suddenly throws back and horks out huge clump of nasty-looking purple stuff at Faecast! She yelps in surprise when it splats all over her in a sickly display. Yuck! It's enough to make everyone else want to hurl...Faecast soon finds out that the goo that soaks into her watery body wasn't mud, but a highly Toxic poison. You don't have to be a meteorologist to know she's got some pretty bad poison in her future...

The Castform isn't too worried about the future yet, she's more fixed on the present that calls for offense. And it's a hot one at that, you can practically see her watery form coming to a boil. She makes with unleashing a surprising stream of heated water at Newdai! now it's the Wooper who yelps as he tries to run away from the Scalding hot blast, but gets nailed and sent tumbling away anyway! He fusses back up without any burns of any kind, but he sure looks upset...In face, he's giving off some terribly strong, almost...primal aura. He's giving off a huge sense of Precipice before letting out a mighty bellow and stomping on the floor hard! Faecast is unsure what this calls for...She soon finds out as the whole arena rumbles before the floor glows hot with power, then a trail of large jagged spikes make an explosive entrance towards her! She ends up getting struck horribly and sent flying by the bursting Blades of earth! Whoa, what an awesome attack! It's as if Newdai gathered power from Groudon or something...

Faecast is heard yelling back down to earth and before hitting the floor hard. She comes to and gets back afloat, though. But now she looks at Newdai alot more carefully. The Wooper himself has calmed down and looks pretty happy he was able to pull that off!

That was wicked cool! Now I just know this is going to be something to remember! Let's see how the two are holding up.

Faecast took a harsh hit back there, she looks slightly behind her opponent in health. But she used a fair amount of energy and can still try her hardest! She's in her Rainy Form, and is pretty upbeat about the weather too! But she's been badly poisoned, that's going to start working in the next turn...

Newdai was slightly less hurt and looks just that much ahead of her opponent. He did use much more energy, but is still ready to give it all he's got! He's also liking the change in weather! He's got half of his Poison energy left, but plenty of Fire to go around.

Speaking of, It's Raining hard. Blech! It's going to power up Water and weaken Fire for quite a while.

Well things are just getting started, let's see what Ger is going to do now!

Round 2: The Z Factor.

Invoking your inner Groudon is not an easy feat for Newdai, even with help. But that doesn't mean he's not ready and raring to show his opponent what other awesome stuff he can do! The Wooper feels his enhanced energy build up and starts to radiate with a heavy green aura. Faecast gets into high alert as Newdai belts out an uncanny roar and unleashes his power! It's as if the Land rumbles and gives way to the surge of energy that's bursting towards the Weathermaker. Faecast wants to get away, but the huge spike (And I mean that very literally when it happens!) of Ground power catches up and nails her good! She suffers his Wrath again and sent flying and freaking out! But the Rainy pokemon manages to right herself in midair and looks down even more wearily. She stares daggers at the Wooper and gather some of her own Energy to say that enough is enough. This energy is more on the Grassy side and gathers into a sizable Ball. It's not as impressive-looking as Newdai's attack, but he still sweats because he knows he's in for a whole lotta hurt...Faecast unleashes her wrath and lets that Ball loose to attack Newdai! It flies through the air and is enough to make the Wooper turn tail instead, but he can't get escape and is blown away with a wicked burst of Grass power, it sends him sprawling and hollering horribly! Ouch! That one looked especially painful for him...

Newdai does ends up coming 'round, but looks oodles worse for wear than he was just a few moments ago. But he's not going to let that superharsd blow dampen his mood. No, he's still going to fight back! But this time he's got an odd glow that's not seen often. Is this some sort of Ancient skill he's tapping into? Even if it isn't, it's pretty out there, it summons a few orbs of Rock-typed Power. He eyes up Faecast and, with some wiggling of his tail, lets them loose to nail her! And nail her it does, the rocks strike the Castform and make her stumble downward a bit. Cringing, Faecast is getting fed up and gathers that same green Energy. Her forecast is a big Ball of power with a huge chance of pain for Newdai! She sees if she's right and fires it away! The ball wooshes towards the Mud-Lover. Newdai looks out for this one and tries to hop out of its way, but it bursts anyway and roughs him up HARD! More pained bellows are heard as he tumbles sideways and left to lie on the ground rather far from his opponent. That lookes like it REALLY hurt! Let's bring that up in an instant replay...Yep, there's no faking it. Grass attacks are the one thing a pokemon like him can't stand at all...

But even through that, Newdai finds a way to get back on his feet and stand. He's not sure how much more of that he can take, but this battle isn't over yet! Faecast looks proud that she made such an awesome comeback, but cringes a little because those toxins are starting to get to work...

Oooh, things just got turned around really quickly...but wow! Did you see that attack he pulled off? That was awesome too!

Sure was! I think we're going to see alot of those. But how about how the pokemon are now?

Newdai was hurt HORRIBLY! He's been pummeled into his last stretch of health already! He spent alot of energy too and might want to take it easy soon...He can still give it his best if he wants to, though.

Faecast was beat up a good bit, she's almost broken into her her second stretch but has quite a lead. She spent alot of energy but could still try her hardest, but there's no more Grass energy!

Things are just getting rougher! Let's see what TalkSick is up to.

Round 3: Laser Dancing!

The comeback Faecast just made has made her ecstatic, but she knows she shouldn't push her luck. She still wants to make sure she gives it to Newdai hard. To do that she's tapping into quite a bit of power and is glowing a very deep blue. She gloats to him that he's about to taste the awesome power of the seas, a whole lot of nodes appear around her! These orbs glow that same deep shade of blue, they Pulse with the power of the ocean's Origins...This is the Wooper's cue to get ready to book it quick and let's his feet surge with his own Aqua power. Faecast unleashes her wrath and fires a startling number of beams made of pure punishing primordial powe! Newdai makes like a Jet and darts on out of the way. Faecast's beams rain down on the slippery fellow and wreak havoc along the way, but he manages to dart and dance around the whole assault! The Castform's awesome attack is spent, but she's totally surprised when she seed Newdai rushing out and totally untouched by it. The Wooper makes a clumsy tumble and faceplants from the escape. That was cutting it pretty close there...

Faecast groans, but she feels this isn't a good time to let him have it this time. This gives Newdai some time to Recover, so he sits up and takes a deep breath. With the magic of self-regeneration, the Wooper is starting to heal himself. A short while later he's looking alot healthier than before! That's right, this seems to be far from over yet!

But his recovery seems to have taken alot out of him, he looks pretty bushed! He looks up at Faecast who's somewhat closer than before. By the look of the cringe she makes, those toxins bug her again...

They managed to escape! But I don't know how long he can keep that up...

Faecast took just a little bit of damage, she's now at her second third of health. Thanks to the loose round, she can still give it her best for now.

Newdai avoided damage and actually recovered health! He's looking back below halfway now. But he spent alot of energy and looks pretty worn out! He should take a break...

Ger is up again, here they come!

If however mud got in your eyes then just send a widespread Magic!Surf at him instead of hydro pump."

Round 4: Wipeout!

That wondrous Wooper looks pretty spent, but knows he can't just go on and let his guard down. Panting some, he decides to keep the wondrous Castform busy with a little Mud in her eyes...No, i'm not kidding! He actually builds up some stuff in his mouth, taking aim before before hurling up a big clump of mud to Bomb Faecast with! But the Castform scoffs and is more than ready, she uses her Watery powers to build up a rather large wall of water out of nowhere! It carries her up out of the path of the incoming mud and totally avoids it. Now Newdai is oodles uneasy because Faecast and her water is coming crashing down! It swamps the field in the huge Surf, and he ends up getting effortlessly washed away! Talk about a washout!

When the sudden tide clears, Newdai fusses back up on his feet. He thinks that was the worst of it, but unfortunately his opponent is about to prove him wrong...Faecast floats in pretty close and begins to build up intense pressure. She's been proving to be a real herald of Hydro power, but something tells me that this is going to be a big one...Faecast looks like she can't hold it in anymore, and all she can do now is let it out. Out of that little body comes a HUGE surge of water, her Pumping out gallons worth of the wet stuff! The Wooper's eyes widen when he gets blasted point blank and clearly sent packing. Whoa, I was right, that WAS a big one!

Faecast unleashed all she could at the time and pretty much separated Newdai quite so. He looks a bit waterlogged and moans his way back up. That was pretty rough, but this only makes him more determined to hang in there! Faecast isn't letting up either, but those toxins are getting worse and hurt just a little more than before...

Looks like they're not letting up. But I think it's time to shake things up!

Samy, what are you doing with those controls? Oh I get it.

Yep! Starting this next round, the field is going to change. I have no idea what i'm doing, so it's best to be ready for anything! But for now here's how these two are holding up:

Newdai was roughed up pretty badly back there! this brings him well into his last stretch and at a dangerous margin. But at least he didn't spend much energy, so he is ready to give it his very best again!

Faecast was hurt just a little, but that's about it. She's been using lots of energy lately and may want to take it easy! She can still give it her all though.

This rain is also still going strong, I think it will settle down in about 5 more rounds.

Things might change unexpectedly, let's see if TalkSick is ready!

It hasn't been long enough for a disqualification, so I can only Cancel from here...

In which case, this matchup is officially Cancelled!

Aww, I was kinda looking forward to this one...

Oh well, at least I get 1 SP out of the effort. Maybe there will be better luck next time. Until then, see you around!
