Never put all your eggs in one basket. Togekiss is a Pokémon I'm very familiar with, having mained from '10 to '14 (when I stopped OU laddering). She's there because of immunity to Ground (Tyranitar, Excadrill, Ninetales, balloonless Heatran all weak to), dual Fairy immunity to Dragon (partnering up with Clefable), and 4x resistance to Fighting (Tyranitar, Excadrill, Heatran all weak to). One of my problems with the Mega Diancie team has been only having one Pokémon who can answer an entire archetype. I wanted to avoid that here. It is the wrong answer, imo, to say, "Well Clefable handles all of those things." Yes -- and that then maps out the opponent's path to victory. Force Clefable out over and over, take it down, and then win. Togekiss is there to shit on that easy-mode path to victory.

That stated, she and Ninetales admittedly feel like the outsiders on the team. So we'll see.

Also, after my last post, I just lost two games in a row. orz

One of them to a sore winner Latin American player. orz

I'd recommend giving either Latios or Latias a shot sometime if you're willing. Outside of the extra Dragon resist, it can fill those holes, offer Defog support, and has more offensive pressure. Could be worth a shot.

This old team for this resurging old OM shines for one reason: Hard countering the resurgence of HJK Mega Blaziken.

Realization: Will o Wisp, despite being a fire move, works under primordial sea.

In which Stealth Rocks make the last two kills.

O'er the Goodra we go!

When the hax hits juuuuuuuust right

Brutal chemistry. (Random Battle, 22 turns)

Spoiler: show
It's not that I beat him 5-0:

It's that I beat him only ever sending out three of my Pokémon.

I essentially played a handicapped game of 3v6, in which he got to use a full team of six and I only got to use three Pokémon.

And I still won with only a single Pokémon of mine fainting.

This is also not to be confused with cases of "Ha ha, I got a setup sweeper for my lead and you got setup bait for yours. gg I win" where the player wins 6-0 with a clean sweep. That's not that rare.

This, on the other hand, is pretty rare. To have three Pokémon you can juggle between who make such a good core compared with what his team is. Golurk, a heavy hitter who just barely outspeeds everything that could type counter him. Raichu, a setup sweeper with unparalleled speed. And Aromatisse, a supporter with walls, healing, and a little bit of chip damage.

Normally when people complain about getting counterteamed by the RNG, it's not this bad.

This.

This
is bad.

Poor guy's team was utterly fucked by the three I had.

So I learned that Blazikenite is being tested in Mix and Mega so now I have three physical sweepers.

Fuck your walls.

In which the Scizor / Zapdos core is hella clutch

No dank Venusaur sweeps (I'm debating dropping Swords Dance for Earthquake or Leaf Storm honestly) but somehow I'm at 1488, 165th on the ladder, and a 43-15 W-L ratio.

This is a joke team that uses Altarianite Venusaur and Absolite Galvantula so I must not be totally shit.

I have always maintained that prediction is what Pokemon is all about.

And this kind of match is why.

Yes, my opponent was shit, but I think he was trying to overpredict me. Either way, I love it when a plan comes together, etc.

So I recently discovered showdown forums has a "share hilarious matches" thread.

Here's a gem from it: IN WHICH GROUDON IS HARDWALLED BY BIDOOF (UBERS)

Monotype is fun

Mono Water Vs Mono Poison, featuring last stand from Mega Venusaur!

This teams has actually carried me well into the mid 1200s with very little difficulty. I suppose I'll get my bacon handed to me more later, but

Engie scares off Mono-Grass

Save your Sandvich-I mean, Mega Evolution-till the right moment-it might just pay off like it did here.

Not so "godly" (PU, 21 turns)

Guess who just hit 1300 in randbats? AKA Mega Pinsir Murders half a team

This is, without a doubt, the dumbest PU match I've ever played in.

I'm extremely tilted that you had a Dusknoir against a HJK-spamming Scrafty and tried to Fire Blast it down instead despite the fact that it clearly wasn't going to happen.

Tip: If you use HJK against a Ghost type, you take 50% of your damage as recoil
