I doubt it made it into 5th gen, but it would be interesting to see if in 6th (!?!?) gen they introduced a concept of hybrid Pokemon. No, not Venustoise of anime fame. Something entirely new produced out of the union of two parent Pokemon.

I thought of this because the picture Arnold's posted doesn't strike me as just any ol' Luvdisc evolution, but specifically the result of a Sharpedo x Luvdisc coupling. And that got me to thinking, "Hmm, that could actually be sort of neat, so long as they reined it in and didn't go crazy with it, producing Venustoises around every corner. ¬_¬"

EDIT: The new Pokebeach footage reveals an interesting detail.

The music changes when your Pokemon hits red.

(Also the camera shifts and pans randomly when you're idling on the move select screen for some weird reason)

I think for once Serebii Joe's got the right idea about the little legendary. Bikutorii = "victory" = the V you see Japanese people do all the time in photos. His name's supposed to be a portmanteau, I think, of "Victory" and "tiny", so they lopped the -ory off of Victory and the name became Victiny.

Which sounds as retarded as he looks.

'Cause I can't read that name and not read it as an Italian mobster's name. "Hey, youse guys! Pipe down, will ya?" His name's Tiny. Vic Tiny.

Just seeing Pokabu's body consumed in that grass skirt tells me that a lot of accessories are going to look ridiculous on non-humanshape Pokemon. I don't really like any of the gimmicky side-quests this game has to offer. I don't think I'll be using anything dream smoke related.

Seakitten, I know that little adolescent boys think it's cool to cuss and be a racist, but those aren't cool things to do. Cursing is only appropriate when used correctly. And the correct way usually isn't to degrade the life of another being.

I actually like the sound of missions. A bit. I'm very apprehensive about Gen 5 as a whole, mainly because I don't really like any of the Pokemon except the Electric/Dragon Legendary and the Electric Zebra. I think missions could a nifty element to the games. This also means that they can keep the game fresh for longer (if they do it right).

Seasonal changes look cool.

Well based on the two seconds of info I read it said most pre-Gen5's won't be in the game, not necessarily all. If they're the GameFreak we know and love they'll be sure to shove a couple (read: a shitload) of Tentacool, Geodude, and Zubat down our throats.

I do like the new bug though. I got excited when I read "Psychic/Fire" and the deer in the same news story but got markedly less excited when I found out that it wasn't talking about the deer. Which is pink, wtf.
