blazeVA's Tablet Hunt

That looks really good.

Must get a tablet. How much do they go for on the market?

Here in lies my problem.

I only have $180 in cold, hard cash.

Anywhere like Staples where I can buy it?

Um... Did you click the first link?

None of those tablets were even $100, ranging from about $20 to the highest being $87 before shipping. Although, Monoprice drivers are currently not working with Windows 7.

The other site also lists DigiPro as a company that makes inexpensive tablets, but they didn't have their own website I could find with information on their product. It seems like a dozen or so companies have that name >.>;

No way I can help you then. I don't know where you live. What stores are by your area. What they stock. And all those other factors I dare not contemplate.

If you don't have a credit card, you can always ask someone with one to place the order for you and pay them back in cash. If that's not possible, well, just go around to all your local stores and ask what they can and can't get you.

EDIT: Wacoms can be pricey though. Do research before making such a big investment.

I got my Wacom for $55. Bamboo Pen tablet. I had trouble getting pen pressure to work, though.

That's because you failed (and may be continuing to fail) to take Loki's warning seriously. The Wacom Bamboo series is their crappiest, entry-line series. They deliberately gimp it so that you shell out the big bucks for their proper series, the Intuos line. This in turn is (sadly) a slightly inferior build to the earlier Graphires they used to sell: which is to say, specifically, the Graphires used to be less expensive but just as good as the Intuoses but they discontinued the Graphires because they wanted more profit. (And why not?) As for their Cintiq line, that's their highest end stuff, the stuff that Mike Krahulik of Penny-Arcade and many other professional web comic artists use. But that'll run you $1,000+.

The reason I still don't have a drawing pad is precisely because:
(1) I want a Wacom (settle for nothing less!) and
(2) I want an Intuos that's either medium size or large size

But those cost $300 to $400. They're not cheap.

D: I think mine is a Wacom Bamboo tablet... I love it so much though, and it's always worked fine for me.

Although, the Cintiq ones are the ones I would L-O-V-E to have, but you know... *sees moths fly out of wallet*

Maybe one day I'll upgrade, but right now the Bamboo is perfectly fine for me and Daisy.

That Cintiq, though.... *drools*

Combining the major advantage of paper (seeing your image on the drawing platform) with the advantages of a tablet (everything a tablet does). Yeah.
