How long do you take in the shower?
How much time do you spent naked and wet each day?

I take long showers, and multiple ones each day.
I'm pretty obsessed with the water stall.

The shower is the time of day where you are truly alone quietly with nothing but your thoughts and relaxed. Seriously, do you know how many great inventions were conceived in the shower?
So yes I take my time. |

Usually a 10 min shower, occasionally 15 min if I don't have to go to school/work immediately.

The 10-minute cutoffs in this poll really fuck with my vote as well. I'm going to answer "less than 10" since most days 1) I shower at the apartment where I live (DUR) and its hot water heater tank is so small that I really only just have about 10 minutes' worth of hot water at a time max and 2) because I'm usually showering as part of the morning protocol and I need to go quickly and not waste time. However, if you had asked me how long do I prefer to take, my answer would've comfortably been in the 10-20 minute column since, provided the hot water is in ample and strong supply, once in I enjoy staying in. When it comes to my level of wetness/dryness, I loathe change. So like, I really hate having to get in the shower (going from dry to wet) but I also hate getting out of the shower (going from wet to dry), so like, once in I am the sort of person who would like to remain in for a while provided he actually could.
Anyway, voting based on actual practice rather than preference because that's how the poll question was set up. *voted "Male, < 10 minutes"

This is... a debate? Are we going to argue "You should shower more, you still smell awful"?

It really varies, but it probably averages somewhere a little over 10. My whole wake up to out-of-the-shower routine takes about 15 minutes, and only about 3 of that is not shower related.
If I'm not showering in the morning or before school, it's easily well over 15. > This is... a debate? Are we going to argue "You should shower more, you still smell awful"? I think Debate has become Poll General now. Moving to General! |

You moved it to Misc and here I am considering asking Kuno to rechristen Debate as "Polls & Debate." Well, we'll see. I still think polls likely to lead to arguments/debate should 100% remain in Debate though.

Off topic, but I don't really want to see the debate forum become "polls & debates", I'd like it to just stay debates and see polls in either misc. or get their own forum.

Wait wait wait. Diet vs Regular is fine. Cake vs Pie is fine. But showers is WRONG FORUMS MUTHAF*CKRS!
I was going to bring up the actual argument after seeing some poll results from like a days worth of data, but thanks for that guys. Don't ask me even though I'm Super Mod myself. Some people say that people long to return to the womb. And that bathing and showering represents a warm, liquid, environment like the womb. So do you think you're back in your mom's belly while you take your long ass shower, or are you just enjoying the warm, liquid, environment? |

You didn't really frame it as a debate though. ^^; It's not like you were saying "There is a war between long showerers and short showerers! WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON!?" Whereas with Cake vs. Pie, that's preeeeeeeeeeeeeetty obvious that the poll was set up to engender light-hearted debate about the superiority of one dessert over the other.

Yeah, but there's no way to convert a cake man to a pie man and it ultimately becomes a just a "I like cake." "I like pie." "You're stupid, cake is better!" "No! You're stupid. Pie is boss."
Do I have to remind you of YOUR "Doritos" thread? Was that a debate or just a poll? |

Doesn't the division on gender lines 1) break one of the most sacred rules of the internet and 2) seem a bit like it sets up for a double standard?

I don't mind where this thread ended up, I just don't know why it was moved since Loki was the one that made it. Either way, I think I'm going to executively decide that polls should be here in the misc. That way I can just avoid the debate forums.
If anyone thinks they should stay there speak now or forever hold your peace. I really don't care where the polls go. But if your poll is very debatey then it should probably stay. We'll play it by ear. |

Can't we just appeal to the rule of common sense?
By member: Don't move things posted by people at or above your rank. By topic: Polls which will invite debate should be allowed to be posted in Debate to begin with and should be moved to Debate should debate break out. Polls which do not invite debate should be posted in Misc and should be moved to Misc if no debate has really taken place and you have the authority to move it. I think a hard ban on polls in Debate would be dumb since people may want to post debate threads with poll options but I think it'd also be dumb if, in the absence of a designated forum for polls to go in, we said they shouldn't go here.

Anyway, I agree with Talon. I'm not hard banning polls from Debates. We'll play it by ear. But most of them should wind up here unless it actually has a debate topic attached. |

Off topic: Polls should be in Misc. Save debates for Debate.
On topic: >20 minutes. 20-25 minute shower first thing in the morning. 10-15 minute shower at whatever point of midday that I get home. Then another 15-20 minite shower later at night. So anywhere from 45-60 minutes per day. |
