Is this PKMN inspired name taking it a bit too far?

Hiya! So I really didn't want to make another thread, but I don't know where else to put this subject. Here's my question:

I have read about every Pokemon "creepypasta" ever (I think), and there is one that seems so scary to me- the one with Hypno. And when you go into that creepy forest, you meet a little girl named Lostelle. So you probably know by now that I am highly fascinated by these scary stories, so I wanted to know if naming someone Lostelle is strange or not. Like say, naming your child this. I am really set on naming my kids Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie, yet that will probably change once I'm older, but I can picture my older-self still loving Lostelle for a girl. But will this name get made fun of?

The name looks a little awkward but I think its pretty. Clearly the solution is to fight whatever kid makes fun of your kid's name so people know never to do that.

Disclaimer: This is coming from the person who is seriously debating naming a potential daughter Euryale or Stheno.

Lostelle is now my favorite name. I realize that I probably will have different taste once I'm older and that's fine, but I sure do hope Lostelle stays with me! (hopefully she won't get "lost")

Anyway, I love Pokemon-inspired names more than anything. Is Gold cute for a girl? How about Red for a boy?
Here's my faves:
Girls:
Lostelle
Gold
Silver
Blue
Lavender (after creepy Lavender Town)
Fire?? Too hippie?
Eevee of course!
...there may be some more that I forgot.
Boys:
Red
Ash (Durr, who knew)
Drew (My fave male character!!)
...ugh, I'm not real good with boys' names. Only time will tell what Pokemon names I'll discover in the next hour. The internet is full of lists.

Naming your child after a basic color isn't something I'd advise. The only one you can get away with in America would be Red (e.g. Red Forman or Red Green), and even then it's often a nickname for something else (e.g. Reginald). I've never heard of someone named Blue, Yellow, or Black before (as a first name), and I think it'd be similar to naming them Triangle or Circle.

Other color words, ones that aren't the basics, can be okay. Like, Amber, Opal, and Ruby (all gemstones that also connote colors) are fine. So too are Violet, Rose, and Lavender (all flowers that also connote colors). You won't usually find a Tourmaline or a Sapphire, but you could -- and that's the thing. It isn't as unnatural as finding someone named Yellow or Purple.

Do you want me to be honest? Don't name kids after something from Pokemon unless it's already a common name. Give them the basic courtesy of not starting social life five steps down the ladder.

Lavender and Drew are the only semi-common names I can think of from your list.

"Goldy" or "Goldie" is acceptable for a girl's name.

I'll also note that the original Japanese names can be good too. Bonnie's original name is "Eureka" (why the heck was that changed...?) which blends in easily with other female names.

Yes, Eureka is pretty! And Goldie is cute too! I am really liking people's suggestions!

Goldie sounds like it really should be short for something, though I have no idea what. Eureka is just plain a weird name, I've never seen it as a name before.

Goldie sounds like a dog's name.

Like, name your kids what you want, but they have to live with that name. Lostelle is probably a good middle name.

Does anyone know any other Pokemon creepypasta inspired names? What game is it with a character named Steven?

I just looked it up. It's called Strangled Red. I want to tell you what it's about, but you could just look it up!
